Executive Summary
In the fall Saturdays here in south are typically filled with tailgating and football. The University
of Georgia’s football organization is even one of the most loved teams in America. We want to
bring in some of that excitement for our Women’s Basketball team. Last year we created an
event to bring more awareness to women’s sports and was able to partner with the community
and developed a Girls 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament. Our event was profitable and considered
to be a success as our turnout was what we had planned for.
Background
Last year was our official first year of this event and to say it was a success is an
understatement. Not only did we generate a profit, but we also did gain more attention for our
women’s basketball team. For this upcoming second year of the event, Project Manager
Brittney Kunder and team, plans on altering a few features to make an even bigger impact than
the previous year. The tournament will take place again at Stegeman Coliseum on Saturday
June 18, 2022 after the women’s basketball season has come to an end.
We have an opportunity to be a leader and set an example in the industry so others can take
notice and make these positive changes in their organization as well. The overall purpose of the
event is to drive more awareness to women’s sports and to give the younger generation of
women athletes the opportunity to have a spotlight. The UGA has a huge fan base across the
nation. We have the potential to get this event, and this idea, in front of a lot of eyes, not just
the ones in attendance of the event.

points. The final game will be played as two 14-minute halves and the team that comes out on
top will be the tournament winner. This team will win a tournament trophy, a practice session
with the UGA women’s basketball team, as well as tickets to the opening game of the following
season.
Objectives
There are a few ways we can measure that this event will be a success. Even though we are
looking at this event as an opportunity of movement we also need to be made aware of the
monetary elements as well.
1. Sell $5000 in UGA Merchandise.
2. Achieve 10% conversion of attendees for season tickets for upcoming UGA Women’s
Basketball Season.
3. Increase Instagram and Twitter followers by five hundred by the end of the event.

Budget
Year 1 Year 2
Total Income $41,485 $48,825
Total Expenses $34,940 $38,025
Total Profit $6,545 $10,800
We have multiple items that come as expenses for this event however our estimated income
outweighs the expenses therefore giving us a profit after all said and done. Line items such as
food, beverages, staff members, equipment and others will fall into the expense category. As
far as our estimated income we heavily rely on our donors and sponsor to help fund the
majority of this event. We may have to dive into our funds to pay for the expenses up front but
the income we receive in return will pay that back and some.
Reporting
Communication has to be a top priority for this event to be successful. From the beginning
planning stages to the day of the event everyone will need to be on the same page. We will
host weekly meetings with each team leader to discuss any issues and to keep the timeline in
check and if we need to make any changes we can swiftly. We will keep to small meetings
where team leaders will be the only ones in attendance, so matters are kept close nit and we
do not run into any issues where something is left behind when too many hands are on the
project.

6. UGA’s Event Proposal
The marketing strategy we will have in place will help spread the word of getting the
community involved therefore ticket sales should not be a high issue. We can do as much as we
can do to create a safe environment for all people at the event. If the need arises we will have
trained medical personnel on site with an ambulance if needed. If we run into any issues
regarding our sound system, air conditioning, or concessions stand we will have a mechanic on
site and a trained tech specialist to make sure everything can be fixed in a timely manner. We
will have a soft open the day before the event to make sure everything is working as it should
be.
Success Criteria
To measure the success of the event we will first look at the overall turnout. We want to know
how many attendees we had in attendance and measure that with the amount of ticket were
sold. One of our main focuses is to grow the fan base of the women’s basketball team. To
measure the success, we will view our new followers on our social sites as well on any season
tickets sold for the upcoming season. Lastly, when it comes to the merchandise and concessions
we will look at the total amount of items sold in coordinates with the number of items that’s
had to be purchased.
