One’s destination is never a place,

At Springdales School, Pusa Road, we believe that there is no substitute for ‘education
through action’ and that exploring places, people, cultures, economic opportunities, and
technological advancements through travel, complements and completes the educational
experience. This philosophy matches our endeavour to create responsible global citizens
and dynamic leaders by bringing the knowledge of the world to the classroom as well as
encouraging students to go out into the world. These two methods are critical to create
the three pillars of global citizenship based on empathy, understanding, and international
collaboration.
In line with this mission, our students recently journeyed to the USA under a program titled
EdTerra’s USA East Coast Space Adventure. We chose this program for its focus on providing
students useful exposure to space exploration and technology at NASA’s Kennedy Space
Center. They also visited natural and modern marvels of Niagara Falls, Boston, and New
York City. To augment the broader program, we selected the Young Authors Program, which
ensured students’ engagement and immersion. This Student Travel Review is an outcome
of this collaborative and exploratory module that our students of Springdales School,
Pusa Road, along with the students of Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad and Bal Bharti Public
School, actively participated in. It captures the entire journey in students’ own words and
photographs. It even showcases their learning from this engaging journey to one of the
world’s most advanced nations.
I would also like to recognise the efforts of EdTerra Edventures, a company that is well
aware of co-curricular and extra-curricular goals in addition to the developmental needs
of students. We acknowledge the contribution of their staff, especially their on-journey
educator, the Journey Mentor, and Visa Assistance Services. Their professionalism has
resulted in an effortless, safe, and enriching travel experience for each one of us and for the
group. Each parent may feel proud of this publication that will keep reminding their wards of
their achievements and capabilities, all lifelong.
Happy reading!

An educational journey to foreign lands always induces learning and excitement among
young and inquisitive students. When the destination is as diverse as the USA East Coast,
one can only imagine the myriad ways in which Indian students would absorb and construct
learning out of the many differences and similarities that mark the cultures and people of
India and the USA.
For EdTerra, an educational journey is about enabling students to construct knowledge
through a meaningful encounter with a new culture, without diluting their fun and excitement
or restricting their wandering, curious minds. EdTerra achieves this through its Program
Development Team (PDT), which comprises both Indian and international experts. The PDT
carefully designs culturally neutral projects that enable students to meaningfully observe,
record, and articulate their impressions. These tools are deployed through a process that
encourages teamwork and meaningful discussions besides recording observations through
digital means, all of which is finally synthesised into a media product that showcases the
ideas and learning of the students.
This Student Travel Review, ‘USA East Coast Space Adventure’, is one such media product
that captures the learning of the students of Springdales School, Pusa Road, on their journey
to the Kennedy Space Center, Orlando along with Boston, New York City, and Niagara Falls.
This book serves as a window into the USA and above all, the inspiring world of NASA,
especially valuable for those students, peers, and parents who could not be a part of the
program. It showcases the intellectual and creative capacities of the students, the credit for
which is rightfully due to their parents and school.
EdTerra Edventures would like to thank Springdales School, Pusa Road, for their efforts and
support, which made this educational journey possible. We especially thank the Principal,
Ms. Ameeta Mulla Wattal, for guiding us. EdTerra would also like to thank the accompanying
teachers for being so dynamic and enthusiastic. Their energy made our work easy, and
more importantly, made for a more memorable journey for the students. We encourage you
to read and relive the learning and adventures of these students through the words and
photographs that follow.

OUR
JOURNEY
OUR
JOURNEY
OUR JOURNEY
From New Delhi, we flew to Orlando with a brief stopover in Dubai.
After reaching Orlando, we visited the Kennedy Space Center to
learn about space travel and exploration. We learnt about the
history of NASA and its numerous achievements over the years.
At the KSC, we got a chance to see many life-size rockets. We also
went to Cocoa Beach and it was a wonderful experience.
Our next destination was Walt Disney World where we witnessed
the Disney parade and got drenched while riding Splash Mountain
and Popeye and Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges. We also went to
Hogsmeade and drank delicious butterbeer while eating lunch at
The Hog’s Head.
Next, we went to Buffalo to visit the incredible Niagara Falls, which
lies on the border shared by the USA and Canada. It is estimated
that about 30 million people visit Niagara Falls each year. It was
spectacular to see the natural beauty of the giant waterfall. We
also took a ride on the Maid of the Mist that took us close to the
waterfall. All of us got drenched in spite of wearing raincoats.
Standing right below the waterfall was an exceptionally fantastic
experience.
Next day, we left for New York on the bus. New York is known for
a number of chief attractions — we saw the Chrysler Building, the
Empire State Building, the One World Observatory and of course,
Times Square. We saw a number of street performers performing
at Times Square. We saw numerous shops and could not control
our urge of shopping. In New York, we also visited the prestigious
Columbia University and gained an insight into the USA’s higher
education system. It was fascinating to walk through New York’s
streets, which were bustling with large crowds and exuded
immense energy.
Our final destination was Boston where we went on a tour of
Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology
(MIT). Visiting these institutions inspired us to aim high and work
hard in our lives. This marked the end of our enriching journey
to the USA East Coast. Overall, our trip was educational as well
as enjoyable. We would like to thank our teachers for supporting
us throughout the journey. Lastly, we would like to thank EdTerra
Edventures for organising such an awesome tour.

KENNEDY
SPACE CENTER
KENNEDY SPACE CENTER
Every year, EdTerra Edventures organises educational tours to
different parts of the world for school students. This year, they
organised a trip to the USA East Coast for our school. During our
journey, we visited the Kennedy Space Center. After reaching the
KSC, we took a bus tour of the complex and saw the actual launch
pads from where a number of rockets have been sent off to space.
We also visited the Launch Control Center — its significance
in human spaceflight is enormous. Then, we visited the Vehicle
Assembly Building (VAB) and learnt that it is the largest single-
storey building in the world.
At the Kennedy Space Center, we saw Saturn V that is the largest
rocket to be flown ever. We also learnt about NASA’s Apollo
missions to the moon. Seeing so many exhibits at the KSC was
tiring, yet intriguing. On the second day of our visit, we walked
through the Rocket Garden. Next, we attended a show titled
‘Journey to Space’ showcasing the life of an astronaut in space.
In addition to this, we ate lunch with Mr. John McBride, a retired
astronaut. He inspired us by sharing his stories and experiences.
It was so interesting to learn about the challenges astronauts face
when they are in space. The Shuttle Launch Experience was really
stimulating.
On the third and final day of our visit to the Kennedy Space Center,
we got a glimpse into the harsh training regime an astronaut has
to go through. It included Rover landing simulation, micro-gravity
simulation, and a session called ‘Walk on Mars.’
We were rewarded with e-certificates in recognition of our
determination, discipline, and teamwork in different activities.
Thereafter, we stopped by a store and shopped till we dropped.
Everything on display looked really nice and we picked up some
beautiful souvenirs for our friends and family.
We spent three days at the Kennedy Space Center and it was a
memorable experience. Learning about space exploration was a
fabulous opportunity. This experience made us aware of the fact
that being an astronaut is not only about earning fame and pride.
Rather, it is about perseverance, patience, and flexibility. At the end
of the day, we felt great respect and admiration for the astronauts
and assisting teams who work relentlessly to scale seemingly
impossible heights in space exploration.

In Orlando, we visited two amusement parks, namely Walt Disney
World and Universal Studios. The Disney parade felt like a massive
celebration of all the animated characters such as Goofy, Elsa,
Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and many more.
At Walt Disney World, some rides were slow and some were really
fast-paced. Riding on Splash Mountain was really thrilling. As
the sun set, it was time for the grand spectacle of fireworks. We
thoroughly enjoyed watching the bright and colourful show with
our friends. We can never forget the sight of Cinderella Castle
covered with beautiful lights all over. We also ate some candies
and other sweet delicacies shaped in the form of our favourite
characters. There was a huge variety of Disney merchandise
available and some of us bought souvenirs to relive our wonderful
memories back home.
Our visit to Universal Studios was another exciting adventure.
Riding on The Incredible Hulk Coaster was scary, but thrilling too.
The queues for the ride were very long but we did not mind waiting
because a super adventurous experience awaited us. The scariest
part of the ride was when we, in one sudden moment, came out of
thetunnelthatwasrotatingallthroughout.Wewatchedanamazing
show called Poseidon’s Fury in which the God of Sea fights his
enemy. Walking through the water tunnels was really adventurous.
Another exciting experience was riding on Harry Potter and the
Forbidden Journey. All of us were really excited because we had
cherished reading Harry Potter series since our childhood. Seeing
our beloved characters live in action was like a dream come true.
Besides, there were several rides based on popular Hollywood film
franchises such as Men in Black, Transformers, and so on.
Each ride in Universal Studios was beautifully designed and
safety was given top priority. We saw a number of souvenir shops
selling various interesting articles on sale. Some of us bought
Harry Potter wands. The most engaging aspect of our visit to
amusement parks was getting a first-hand experience of practical
application of physics and technology. It was awesome to see
how production studios can create such immersive experiences
for film enthusiasts.
In the end, we would like to thank our parents, school, and EdTerra
Edventures for such a fascinating experience. Our journey was a
wonderful experience that we will never forget.

NIAGARA FALLS
NIAGARA FALLS
Niagara Falls is one of the most beautiful natural wonders of
the world. Everyone must visit this place at least once in their
lifetimes. We boarded the bus after eating breakfast in the hotel.
When we reached there, we saw many helicopters hovering above
the area. The scenic view of the place was breathtaking. After
getting our entry tickets, we stood in line for security check. Soon,
we got inside Niagara Falls State Park. The sound of the waterfall
soothed us. It felt as if we were listening to a melodious tune. The
weather was pleasant and sunny.
Niagara Falls is made up of three waterfalls, namely American
Falls, Horseshoe Falls, and Bridal Veil Falls. The gigantic Niagara
Falls is are situated between the Canadian province of Ontario and
the US state of New York. The Horseshoe Falls lies on the border
of the USA and Canada while the American Falls lies entirely on
the American side, separated by Goat Island. The Rainbow Bridge
forms the international border between two of the greatest nations
of the world. Watching the water fall from a certain height at a rapid
speed was a wonderful experience. During our visit to Niagara
Falls, we learnt that it serves as a great source of hydroelectric
power. We also got to know that it is home to about 300 bird
species and more than 70 varieties of trees.
Later, we went for a ride on the Maid of the Mist. The ferry ride
starts and ends on the American side. Crossing the Rainbow
Bridge, we went past the American and Bridal Veil Falls into the
dense mist of spray inside the curve of Horseshoe Falls. The
Horseshoe Falls is also known as Canadian Falls. While riding the
ferry, all of us wore blue-coloured ponchos to prevent ourselves
from getting wet. We saw that the Canadian side provides red-
coloured ponchos to its visitors. The view from the ferry was
extremely captivating. Many of us clicked photographs to capture
its subliminal beauty. However, we had to put our cameras away
when we got drenched due to the mist. Besides the magnificent
view, the sound of chirping birds made our experience even more
worthwhile.
After the ferry ride, we clicked many photographs from the
Observation Tower and enjoyed the view from a certain distance.
We also bought souvenirs from a nearby store. Then, we headed
back to our hotel. Our visit to Niagara Falls was an extraordinary
experience.

NEW YORK CITY
NEW YORK CITY
On our journey to the USA East Coast, we visited New York City
—the city that never sleeps. From historic landmarks to legendary
museums, new-age art galleries, and towering skyscrapers — New
York has so much to offer. We totally understood the significance
of the icon ‘I Love New York’ as we visited several places of tourist
interest in the city.
When we reached New York, we met a tour guide who took us on a
city tour and showed us several buildings such as Trump Palace,
the Empire State Building, the United Nations Headquarters, and
so on. We saw a variety of famous landmarks and learnt about the
history and origin of each. Then, we went to Madame Tussauds
New York where we clicked photographs with the wax statues of
famous Hindi film celebrities including Shahrukh Khan, Amitabh
Bachchan, and Priyanka Chopra.
In New York, we also visited One World Trade Center, which is also
known as the Freedom Tower. The spectacular aerial view of New
York City from the 102nd floor inside the One World Observatory
was amazing. Next, we went to Columbia University for a tour of the
entire university campus. Not only did we learn about the courses
offered and the admission procedure but also witnessed how
students lived and studied there. Our visit to such a prestigious
institution inspired us to put in our best efforts in the future.
Later, we walked through Times Square and saw a variety of street
performers. There were numerous stores for shopping. We also
found that World Yoga Day was being celebrated in Times Square
with great enthusiasm. It was surprising to know that more than
50 million visitors from the world come to this place every year.
Our visit to Times Square was an enjoyable experience. The
digital billboards with flashing lights made the place look really
fascinating. Our day ended when we left for our hotel to rest for
the night.
Next day, we took a ferry to Liberty Island to see the impressive
Statue of Liberty. We had only seen the Statue of Liberty in books
or on television before. During our visit, we learnt that the statue
was actually a gift from France to the USA. We clicked many
photographs and enjoyed the fantastic view. Seeing it standing in
front of us became an unforgettable moment for all of us.
Visiting New York City was a marvellous experience. Exploring
the cosmopolitan city of New York made us understand why it is
known as ‘the melting pot of cultures’.

  • 5. At Springdales School, Pusa Road, we believe that there is no substitute for ‘education through action’ and that exploring places, people, cultures, economic opportunities, and technological advancements through travel, complements and completes the educational experience. This philosophy matches our endeavour to create responsible global citizens and dynamic leaders by bringing the knowledge of the world to the classroom as well as encouraging students to go out into the world. These two methods are critical to create the three pillars of global citizenship based on empathy, understanding, and international collaboration. In line with this mission, our students recently journeyed to the USA under a program titled EdTerra’s USA East Coast Space Adventure. We chose this program for its focus on providing students useful exposure to space exploration and technology at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. They also visited natural and modern marvels of Niagara Falls, Boston, and New York City. To augment the broader program, we selected the Young Authors Program, which ensured students’ engagement and immersion. This Student Travel Review is an outcome of this collaborative and exploratory module that our students of Springdales School, Pusa Road, along with the students of Shiv Nadar School, Faridabad and Bal Bharti Public School, actively participated in. It captures the entire journey in students’ own words and photographs. It even showcases their learning from this engaging journey to one of the world’s most advanced nations. I would also like to recognise the efforts of EdTerra Edventures, a company that is well aware of co-curricular and extra-curricular goals in addition to the developmental needs of students. We acknowledge the contribution of their staff, especially their on-journey educator, the Journey Mentor, and Visa Assistance Services. Their professionalism has resulted in an effortless, safe, and enriching travel experience for each one of us and for the group. Each parent may feel proud of this publication that will keep reminding their wards of their achievements and capabilities, all lifelong. Happy reading! • 7. An educational journey to foreign lands always induces learning and excitement among young and inquisitive students. When the destination is as diverse as the USA East Coast, one can only imagine the myriad ways in which Indian students would absorb and construct learning out of the many differences and similarities that mark the cultures and people of India and the USA. For EdTerra, an educational journey is about enabling students to construct knowledge through a meaningful encounter with a new culture, without diluting their fun and excitement or restricting their wandering, curious minds. EdTerra achieves this through its Program Development Team (PDT), which comprises both Indian and international experts. The PDT carefully designs culturally neutral projects that enable students to meaningfully observe, record, and articulate their impressions. These tools are deployed through a process that encourages teamwork and meaningful discussions besides recording observations through digital means, all of which is finally synthesised into a media product that showcases the ideas and learning of the students. This Student Travel Review, ‘USA East Coast Space Adventure’, is one such media product that captures the learning of the students of Springdales School, Pusa Road, on their journey to the Kennedy Space Center, Orlando along with Boston, New York City, and Niagara Falls. This book serves as a window into the USA and above all, the inspiring world of NASA, especially valuable for those students, peers, and parents who could not be a part of the program. It showcases the intellectual and creative capacities of the students, the credit for which is rightfully due to their parents and school. EdTerra Edventures would like to thank Springdales School, Pusa Road, for their efforts and support, which made this educational journey possible. We especially thank the Principal, Ms. Ameeta Mulla Wattal, for guiding us. EdTerra would also like to thank the accompanying teachers for being so dynamic and enthusiastic. Their energy made our work easy, and more importantly, made for a more memorable journey for the students. We encourage you to read and relive the learning and adventures of these students through the words and photographs that follow. Sincerely, Amita Bajaj Editor, Student Publications Dear reader, MESSAGE FROM EDTERRA Amita Bajaj Editor, Student Publications

  • 12. OUR JOURNEY From New Delhi, we flew to Orlando with a brief stopover in Dubai. After reaching Orlando, we visited the Kennedy Space Center to learn about space travel and exploration. We learnt about the history of NASA and its numerous achievements over the years. At the KSC, we got a chance to see many life-size rockets. We also went to Cocoa Beach and it was a wonderful experience. Our next destination was Walt Disney World where we witnessed the Disney parade and got drenched while riding Splash Mountain and Popeye and Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges. We also went to Hogsmeade and drank delicious butterbeer while eating lunch at The Hog’s Head. Next, we went to Buffalo to visit the incredible Niagara Falls, which lies on the border shared by the USA and Canada. It is estimated that about 30 million people visit Niagara Falls each year. It was spectacular to see the natural beauty of the giant waterfall. We also took a ride on the Maid of the Mist that took us close to the waterfall. All of us got drenched in spite of wearing raincoats. Standing right below the waterfall was an exceptionally fantastic experience. Next day, we left for New York on the bus. New York is known for a number of chief attractions — we saw the Chrysler Building, the Empire State Building, the One World Observatory and of course, Times Square. We saw a number of street performers performing at Times Square. We saw numerous shops and could not control our urge of shopping. In New York, we also visited the prestigious Columbia University and gained an insight into the USA’s higher education system. It was fascinating to walk through New York’s streets, which were bustling with large crowds and exuded immense energy. Our final destination was Boston where we went on a tour of Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Visiting these institutions inspired us to aim high and work hard in our lives. This marked the end of our enriching journey to the USA East Coast. Overall, our trip was educational as well as enjoyable. We would like to thank our teachers for supporting us throughout the journey. Lastly, we would like to thank EdTerra Edventures for organising such an awesome tour. • 20. KENNEDY SPACE CENTER Every year, EdTerra Edventures organises educational tours to different parts of the world for school students. This year, they organised a trip to the USA East Coast for our school. During our journey, we visited the Kennedy Space Center. After reaching the KSC, we took a bus tour of the complex and saw the actual launch pads from where a number of rockets have been sent off to space. We also visited the Launch Control Center — its significance in human spaceflight is enormous. Then, we visited the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) and learnt that it is the largest single- storey building in the world. At the Kennedy Space Center, we saw Saturn V that is the largest rocket to be flown ever. We also learnt about NASA’s Apollo missions to the moon. Seeing so many exhibits at the KSC was tiring, yet intriguing. On the second day of our visit, we walked through the Rocket Garden. Next, we attended a show titled ‘Journey to Space’ showcasing the life of an astronaut in space. In addition to this, we ate lunch with Mr. John McBride, a retired astronaut. He inspired us by sharing his stories and experiences. It was so interesting to learn about the challenges astronauts face when they are in space. The Shuttle Launch Experience was really stimulating. On the third and final day of our visit to the Kennedy Space Center, we got a glimpse into the harsh training regime an astronaut has to go through. It included Rover landing simulation, micro-gravity simulation, and a session called ‘Walk on Mars.’ We were rewarded with e-certificates in recognition of our determination, discipline, and teamwork in different activities. Thereafter, we stopped by a store and shopped till we dropped. Everything on display looked really nice and we picked up some beautiful souvenirs for our friends and family. We spent three days at the Kennedy Space Center and it was a memorable experience. Learning about space exploration was a fabulous opportunity. This experience made us aware of the fact that being an astronaut is not only about earning fame and pride. Rather, it is about perseverance, patience, and flexibility. At the end of the day, we felt great respect and admiration for the astronauts and assisting teams who work relentlessly to scale seemingly impossible heights in space exploration. • 28. AMUSEMENT PARKS In Orlando, we visited two amusement parks, namely Walt Disney World and Universal Studios. The Disney parade felt like a massive celebration of all the animated characters such as Goofy, Elsa, Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and many more. At Walt Disney World, some rides were slow and some were really fast-paced. Riding on Splash Mountain was really thrilling. As the sun set, it was time for the grand spectacle of fireworks. We thoroughly enjoyed watching the bright and colourful show with our friends. We can never forget the sight of Cinderella Castle covered with beautiful lights all over. We also ate some candies and other sweet delicacies shaped in the form of our favourite characters. There was a huge variety of Disney merchandise available and some of us bought souvenirs to relive our wonderful memories back home. Our visit to Universal Studios was another exciting adventure. Riding on The Incredible Hulk Coaster was scary, but thrilling too. The queues for the ride were very long but we did not mind waiting because a super adventurous experience awaited us. The scariest part of the ride was when we, in one sudden moment, came out of thetunnelthatwasrotatingallthroughout.Wewatchedanamazing show called Poseidon’s Fury in which the God of Sea fights his enemy. Walking through the water tunnels was really adventurous. Another exciting experience was riding on Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. All of us were really excited because we had cherished reading Harry Potter series since our childhood. Seeing our beloved characters live in action was like a dream come true. Besides, there were several rides based on popular Hollywood film franchises such as Men in Black, Transformers, and so on. Each ride in Universal Studios was beautifully designed and safety was given top priority. We saw a number of souvenir shops selling various interesting articles on sale. Some of us bought Harry Potter wands. The most engaging aspect of our visit to amusement parks was getting a first-hand experience of practical application of physics and technology. It was awesome to see how production studios can create such immersive experiences for film enthusiasts. In the end, we would like to thank our parents, school, and EdTerra Edventures for such a fascinating experience. Our journey was a wonderful experience that we will never forget. • 36. NIAGARA FALLS Niagara Falls is one of the most beautiful natural wonders of the world. Everyone must visit this place at least once in their lifetimes. We boarded the bus after eating breakfast in the hotel. When we reached there, we saw many helicopters hovering above the area. The scenic view of the place was breathtaking. After getting our entry tickets, we stood in line for security check. Soon, we got inside Niagara Falls State Park. The sound of the waterfall soothed us. It felt as if we were listening to a melodious tune. The weather was pleasant and sunny. Niagara Falls is made up of three waterfalls, namely American Falls, Horseshoe Falls, and Bridal Veil Falls. The gigantic Niagara Falls is are situated between the Canadian province of Ontario and the US state of New York. The Horseshoe Falls lies on the border of the USA and Canada while the American Falls lies entirely on the American side, separated by Goat Island. The Rainbow Bridge forms the international border between two of the greatest nations of the world. Watching the water fall from a certain height at a rapid speed was a wonderful experience. During our visit to Niagara Falls, we learnt that it serves as a great source of hydroelectric power. We also got to know that it is home to about 300 bird species and more than 70 varieties of trees. Later, we went for a ride on the Maid of the Mist. The ferry ride starts and ends on the American side. Crossing the Rainbow Bridge, we went past the American and Bridal Veil Falls into the dense mist of spray inside the curve of Horseshoe Falls. The Horseshoe Falls is also known as Canadian Falls. While riding the ferry, all of us wore blue-coloured ponchos to prevent ourselves from getting wet. We saw that the Canadian side provides red- coloured ponchos to its visitors. The view from the ferry was extremely captivating. Many of us clicked photographs to capture its subliminal beauty. However, we had to put our cameras away when we got drenched due to the mist. Besides the magnificent view, the sound of chirping birds made our experience even more worthwhile. After the ferry ride, we clicked many photographs from the Observation Tower and enjoyed the view from a certain distance. We also bought souvenirs from a nearby store. Then, we headed back to our hotel. Our visit to Niagara Falls was an extraordinary experience. • 44. NEW YORK CITY On our journey to the USA East Coast, we visited New York City —the city that never sleeps. From historic landmarks to legendary museums, new-age art galleries, and towering skyscrapers — New York has so much to offer. We totally understood the significance of the icon ‘I Love New York’ as we visited several places of tourist interest in the city. When we reached New York, we met a tour guide who took us on a city tour and showed us several buildings such as Trump Palace, the Empire State Building, the United Nations Headquarters, and so on. We saw a variety of famous landmarks and learnt about the history and origin of each. Then, we went to Madame Tussauds New York where we clicked photographs with the wax statues of famous Hindi film celebrities including Shahrukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, and Priyanka Chopra. In New York, we also visited One World Trade Center, which is also known as the Freedom Tower. The spectacular aerial view of New York City from the 102nd floor inside the One World Observatory was amazing. Next, we went to Columbia University for a tour of the entire university campus. Not only did we learn about the courses offered and the admission procedure but also witnessed how students lived and studied there. Our visit to such a prestigious institution inspired us to put in our best efforts in the future. Later, we walked through Times Square and saw a variety of street performers. There were numerous stores for shopping. We also found that World Yoga Day was being celebrated in Times Square with great enthusiasm. It was surprising to know that more than 50 million visitors from the world come to this place every year. Our visit to Times Square was an enjoyable experience. The digital billboards with flashing lights made the place look really fascinating. Our day ended when we left for our hotel to rest for the night. Next day, we took a ferry to Liberty Island to see the impressive Statue of Liberty. We had only seen the Statue of Liberty in books or on television before. During our visit, we learnt that the statue was actually a gift from France to the USA. We clicked many photographs and enjoyed the fantastic view. Seeing it standing in front of us became an unforgettable moment for all of us. Visiting New York City was a marvellous experience. Exploring the cosmopolitan city of New York made us understand why it is known as ‘the melting pot of cultures’. • 58. Hi, I am Reema Vohra teaching in Springdales School, Pusa Road. On our visit to the USA East Coast, we went to NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. It was as if we were on a roller-coaster ride experiencing future technologies, imagining of going to the moon or may be to Mars one day experiencing aspirations and getting inspired to not to be afraid of failures and dream of the future. Witnessing Walt Disney world with its magical ambience to watching the spectacular fireworks show felt like going back to childhood and dreaming about a world where it is happily ever after. At Universal Studios, we enjoyed riding different rides along with our favourite superheroes and observed people from all over the world where everyone seemed so happy as if they are on the other part of the earth. Can Reema Vohra something be so magical as the Maid of the Mist and the beautiful rainbow at Niagara Falls? Our visit to New York was wonderful as we visited Columbia University, Madame Tussauds, and Times Square followed by the 102nd floor of the One World Observatory and looking at the skyline feeling awesome.Bostonwasamixofcolonial architecture and modern buildings... a beautiful city with designer shops and two major universities — MIT and Harvard University — it inspired students to work hard and aspire to study in highly-acclaimed educational institutions.
