2. It is important for all of my texts to show
the same genre throughout, this is so that
they can all be easily recognised. An
example of this is that the title of the film
appears on all texts. This is the main way
to group all texts together.
3. Within all of my texts there are features that
help group them together. The main one is
the use of the title of the film. Within this, the
same text is used throughout the three texts
with the name of the film, or any other text
that is used. Within this, there is also use of
the same colour scheme throughout the texts.
This allows the genre to come across and
also helps the audience realise and group
together the texts.
4. Within these two texts, the same text and colour run through them,
however, I have made them very different in terms in the pictures
and the way they are laid out. This is so that they do look like two
different texts. This is shown as the picture in my poster is black and
white and the picture in my magazine is really darkly lit. Even though
they are very different, they help present the horror genre well.
Throughout the two texts, the font of the text is the same which helps
the two link together as well as the film. In my poster, I have used an
over the shoulder shot looking at the ‘killer’. This helps show the
dominance of him throughout the film and how he is always in the
way. In the magazine, I used a close up of the ‘victim’ which helps
show the emotion and gives an insight to how he is feeling.
5. I have also added in the names of the
actors and others that worked on the film
e.g. Director in the poster. This followed
the conventions of posters that I had
looked at. In my magazine, I included
quotes of what people thought about the
film. This also follows the conventions as
the readers of the magazine will want to
know what others think before watching it.
6. When using photos for my poster and
magazine, I made sure that the same
actors were used and I also made sure
that they were in the same clothes as in
the trailer. This helps add to the similarities
within the three texts. For the poster, I also
got the ‘bad guy’ to hold the machetes like
he did in the trailer.
