Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Petroleum Operations Ltd.(ADCO),
Technical Center, In-House Engineering, Abu Dhabi, UAE
Leads and supervises, about 43 mechanical multi-disciplines (Piping/ Pipeline/
Static Equipment/ Rotating) to ensure that appropriate codes, practices and
standards are observed. Leads/ participates in special investigations to resolve
complicated issues.
Assume the ultimate technical authority, advisor and reference to other engineers
and specialists in the related respective technical discipline. Provides expert
services, within the sphere of his discipline, on the design and development of in-
house major engineering projects, relating to both new facilities and modifications
to existing plant and systems.
Responsible for the technical attestation in the related discipline of conceptual

level of authorities in mechanical engineering assuming the reference point/
authority in Mechanical engineering for Bab field project engineering team and
provides guidance and support to engineers in the discipline for all projects
undertaken by BAB engineering team. Evaluate the PMC and consultant discipline
candidates for EPC projects. Direct and Lead multidiscipline mechanical engineers
during different engineering phases of the project. Participates/ provide input into
the division business plan.
2013 - 2015 Major Projects Accomplished:
BAB Integrated Facilities Project – Concept & FEED
The project includes developing ADCO surface facilities to produce additional 30K
BOPD from new reserves of Th.A and TH.H zones and sustain the production of
450K BOPD through the Updip and Attic new zones. The project also involves the
introduction of wells drilling pads for gathering and testing facilities and a new
central processing plant that consists of liquid receiving facilities, two liquid
processing separation trains with 200MBOPD total oil production capacity, gas
compressions trains, atmospheric storage tanks, produced water treatment and
associated pipelines network for the gathering and export facilities. The
responsibilities included preparation of terms of references; perform technical bid
evaluation for the conceptual stage, FEED and EPC stages, and carry out technical
bid evaluation for the project management team and assess/interview the
mechanical disciplines team members. Participate into the project’s milestone
review sessions during the conceptual, FEED and EPC stages. review and establish
the project’s design basis, engineering deliverables, resolve all design issues related
to the new production pad concept and routing of the pipelines network and
coordinate with the master plan team for finalizing the location of drilling pads
providing clear instructions to the feed consultant on the way forward.
Responsibilities extends as the lead for the PMT mechanical disciplines team during
the EPC tendering and the technical evaluation phase for the project.
2011 – Cont. Habshan-1 Field Development Project.
Accomplished the Conceptual study, FEED and EPC stages and carry out the
technical bid evaluation for the EPC contractor and the PMC bid; evaluate and select
the PMC mechanical discipline team members. Undertake the responsibilities of
mechanical engineering discipline through the management of change provide
technical support to the project team during the technical evaluation for long lead
items and review vendor deliverables for static and rotating equipment.
The project objective is the deliver additional production oil capacity of
30,000BOPD. The project consists of oil producer wells, gathering manifolds, MPFM
testing facility, 20Km transfer pipeline to the liquid processing plant and 3 high-
pressure water injection clusters with injection wells.
2012 – 2016 BAB CO2 Injection Pilot Project.
Accomplished the FEED stage; carry out the technical bid evaluation for mechanical
scope of work for the EPC contractor and the PMC bid, evaluate and select the PMC
mechanical discipline team. Provide technical support, participate in milestone
review sessions and assess/ evaluate technical deviations during the EPC stage.
The project consists of installing about 70Km size 8”high pressure rated 287barg
pipeline for injecting the dense phase CO2 into 2 injection clusters alternating with
injection water and gathering pipelines for transferring the produced oil from two
new wells to the field-gathering manifold and testing facilities.
2011 – 2015 Replacement of RDS-3 Transfer Line Project.
Accomplished the FEED and EPC for the installation of about 15Km 18" transfer line
with launcher/ receiver pigging facilities and tie-in with existing facilities for
multiphase hydrocarbons sour service.
2009 – 2012 BAB North Additional Three Water Injection Clusters.
Accomplished the FEED and EPC stages carried out by specialized contractors for
the installation of three high-pressure water injection clusters. Each facility includes
high-pressure water injection pump, 2 chemical injection packages, tie-in with
supply water wells, water headers and flowlines to injection wells.
2010 – 2012 BAB Artificial Lift Gas Injection Pilot Project.
Accomplished the FEED/ Detail engineering, procurement and Construction stages
carried out by specialized contractors for two pilot gas lift wells. The project
includes gas wellhead injection piping, chemical injection package, pressure let
down control station, U/G gas supply pipeline with tie-in from existing gas
distribution trunk-line and tie-in with existing oil producer wellhead piping.
2009 – 2012 Habshan-2 & Thamama-G Field Development Project.
Objective is to add 80,000BOPD to current production capacity. Involves the tie-in
of more than 40wells with pipelines connected to new remote gathering stations
and transfer lines to the main processing station. Participate in the technical bid
evaluation for the EPC contractor and the PMC bids. Provide technical support
during project execution evaluating technical deviations, leading the 3D model
reviews and approve the close out actions.
2009 – 2013 Managerial Role.
Act as the engineering manager under taking divisional engineering responsibilities
whenever the Engineering manager is unavailable, leading the team of senior
discipline engineers, participate in management related coordination and review
meetings on division milestones and project progress.
2010 – 2013 Plant Modification Requests.
Focal point coordinator for the management of change process for BAB field plant
modification requests; responsibilities includes the coordination and liaise with
operation counter focal point following the status of requests during evaluation and
execution stages, provide input into the financial proposals and implementation
plans.

in the design and development of mechanical systems and plants associated with
the Company's oil and gas production, pressure maintenance, transport and export.

2008 Main Accomplishments:
Bida AlQemzan Field Development Project.
The project objective is to produce about 30,000bopd involves the conceptual
studies for a new field development. The project includes installing oil pipeline
gathering systems, multiphase testing facility, multiphase pumping system, oil
transfer pipeline to central processing station and water injection system.
2008 BuHasa North Shouaiba Water Injection Clusters Project.
The scope involves the preparation of data sheets, specifications and material
requisition for 5 high-pressure water injection clusters and the scope of work and
terms of reference for the consultant to prepare the FEED.
2005 – 2007 South Shouaiba Gas Lift and WAG Pilot Project.
The project scope includes the installation of well gas injection surface facilities for
10 oil producers along with more than 30km gas injection pipelines network and
pressure letdown station.
2003 – 2006 BuHasa Field Development Project.
The project involves the upgrade and replacement of the existing central
processing and production facilities at BuHasa Field. The responsibilities included
reviewing mechanical deliverables, prepare & evaluate contractor scope for
variation orders, resolve technical queries. Assigned as PMT Senior Mechanical
Engineer and carry out following up/ monitoring of construction works, carry out
inspection on static equipment and machinery pumps, participate in preparing
punch list and pre-commissioning activities.
2003 - 2005 Gas Injection Wells (Bu-511, 512 & 514).
The project includes the procurement and installation of wellhead control panel
and high-pressure injection facility along with injection flowlines extended from
existing gas injection pipeline.
2003 - 2006 Huwaila Field Development Project.
Installation of a remote wells gathering manifold with multiphase pumping station
and 10", 27Km transfer P/L for fluid transport to the nearest remote gathering
station in Buhasa field.
2007 Incident investigation
 North East BAB Field Central Processing Failure of underground closed drain
system
 Buhasa field water injection header positive seal joint coupling failure.
2004 – 2008 Plant Modification Requests.

1998 – 2001 Senior Piping/ Project Engineer - Orientals Petrochemicals Company

Egyptian Polypropylene Project, EPC
Review all piping and static equipment detail engineering deliverables issued by the
Polypropylene EPC contractor (TOYO Engineering). Review piping and static
equipment materials purchase orders and endorse Release for Shipment Note.
Evaluate and prepare company responses to contractors’ change order requests.
Witness the inspection of static equipment and piping hydrostatic.
Participate in preparing Mechanical completion and inspection punch list and
resolution close out with the EPC contractor.
2000 - 2001 Main accomplishments:
Al-Sukhna Propylene Ship Tanker Receiving Berth Facilities.
Undertake the senior project engineer responsibilities for the installation of a
propylene ship tanker receiving facilities berthing dolphins, ship approaching
channel, propylene loading arm, centrifugal booster pump and power supply diesel
generators.
2000 –2001 Al Sukhna Berth Propylene Transfer Pipeline.
Responsible pipeline/ project engineer for the engineering and construction of the
size 10” propylene 8Km P/L from the propylene ship tanker-receiving berth to the
propylene receiving storage tanks at the Egyptian Polypropylene Plant site.
2000 – 2001 New Propylene Storage Sphere Tank and its associated systems.
Achieve the project engineer responsibilities. Placing the purchase order for the
19m diameter propylene spherical storage tank, civil works, procurement and
installation of piping works, tie-ins with existing systems, extension of fire water
ring, deluge sprinkler system and pre-commissioning activities.
1999 Re-location of Egyptian Polypropylene Plant EPP Construction Site.
Undertake the project engineer responsibilities for coordinating the from Alexandria
(North Coast of Egypt) to the new industrial area at gulf of Suez (East coast of
Egypt) that includes the alignment of the plant layout avoiding change orders and
accommodating new plant facilities for the process flare, plant utilities and new
propylene receiving facilities.
 Participate in evaluating technical bids.
 Follow up construction works undertaken by different contractors.

1999 Brown & Root Ltd Project for Gupco Wellhead platforms & central
Processing Station, Red Sea.
Prepare the plot plans for a number of wellhead platforms and a central processing
platform for the conceptual design under the team of Egypt branch.
1999 Blending kettle inlet pig-able piping, Mobil, Alexandria, Egypt.
The scope includes the engineering of a pig-able piping for the feed lines to the
blending kettle of the oil blending plant.
1998 ESSO Lube Oil Blending Plant at 10th of Ramadan City, Cairo, Egypt.
The scope of work includes the preparation of 3D modeling, stress analysis and
isometric drawings for tankage yard with a number of different tanks sizes for the
oil feed and additives, transfer pumps, blending and drum filling area.
1996 Ship Re-fueling Tanks & Pumping station, Mobil Egypt, Port Said.
The scope includes preparing the plant layout and piping engineering works for
the relocation of the fuel oil and additives storage tanks along with the filling
pumps and manifold.
1996 - 1998 Piping Technical Engineer - Engineering for the Petroleum and Process
Industries (ENPPI). Cairo, EGYPT
Prepare piping material specification to suit related project. Selects/ assign valves
types and provide piping input on the P&ID's. Perform piping and pipelines wall
thickness calculations. Prepare line designation table. Prepare hydrostatic test
maps and sheets. Prepares technical part for sub-contract activities such as

  • 3. 2013 - 2015 Major Projects Accomplished: BAB Integrated Facilities Project – Concept & FEED The project includes developing ADCO surface facilities to produce additional 30K BOPD from new reserves of Th.A and TH.H zones and sustain the production of 450K BOPD through the Updip and Attic new zones. The project also involves the introduction of wells drilling pads for gathering and testing facilities and a new central processing plant that consists of liquid receiving facilities, two liquid processing separation trains with 200MBOPD total oil production capacity, gas compressions trains, atmospheric storage tanks, produced water treatment and associated pipelines network for the gathering and export facilities. The responsibilities included preparation of terms of references; perform technical bid evaluation for the conceptual stage, FEED and EPC stages, and carry out technical bid evaluation for the project management team and assess/interview the mechanical disciplines team members. Participate into the project’s milestone review sessions during the conceptual, FEED and EPC stages. review and establish the project’s design basis, engineering deliverables, resolve all design issues related to the new production pad concept and routing of the pipelines network and coordinate with the master plan team for finalizing the location of drilling pads providing clear instructions to the feed consultant on the way forward. Responsibilities extends as the lead for the PMT mechanical disciplines team during the EPC tendering and the technical evaluation phase for the project. 2011 – Cont. Habshan-1 Field Development Project. Accomplished the Conceptual study, FEED and EPC stages and carry out the technical bid evaluation for the EPC contractor and the PMC bid; evaluate and select the PMC mechanical discipline team members. Undertake the responsibilities of mechanical engineering discipline through the management of change provide technical support to the project team during the technical evaluation for long lead items and review vendor deliverables for static and rotating equipment. The project objective is the deliver additional production oil capacity of 30,000BOPD. The project consists of oil producer wells, gathering manifolds, MPFM testing facility, 20Km transfer pipeline to the liquid processing plant and 3 high- pressure water injection clusters with injection wells. 2012 – 2016 BAB CO2 Injection Pilot Project. Accomplished the FEED stage; carry out the technical bid evaluation for mechanical scope of work for the EPC contractor and the PMC bid, evaluate and select the PMC mechanical discipline team. Provide technical support, participate in milestone review sessions and assess/ evaluate technical deviations during the EPC stage. The project consists of installing about 70Km size 8”high pressure rated 287barg pipeline for injecting the dense phase CO2 into 2 injection clusters alternating with injection water and gathering pipelines for transferring the produced oil from two new wells to the field-gathering manifold and testing facilities.
  • 4. 2011 – 2015 Replacement of RDS-3 Transfer Line Project. Accomplished the FEED and EPC for the installation of about 15Km 18" transfer line with launcher/ receiver pigging facilities and tie-in with existing facilities for multiphase hydrocarbons sour service. 2009 – 2012 BAB North Additional Three Water Injection Clusters. Accomplished the FEED and EPC stages carried out by specialized contractors for the installation of three high-pressure water injection clusters. Each facility includes high-pressure water injection pump, 2 chemical injection packages, tie-in with supply water wells, water headers and flowlines to injection wells. 2010 – 2012 BAB Artificial Lift Gas Injection Pilot Project. Accomplished the FEED/ Detail engineering, procurement and Construction stages carried out by specialized contractors for two pilot gas lift wells. The project includes gas wellhead injection piping, chemical injection package, pressure let down control station, U/G gas supply pipeline with tie-in from existing gas distribution trunk-line and tie-in with existing oil producer wellhead piping. 2009 – 2012 Habshan-2 & Thamama-G Field Development Project. Objective is to add 80,000BOPD to current production capacity. Involves the tie-in of more than 40wells with pipelines connected to new remote gathering stations and transfer lines to the main processing station. Participate in the technical bid evaluation for the EPC contractor and the PMC bids. Provide technical support during project execution evaluating technical deviations, leading the 3D model reviews and approve the close out actions. 2009 – 2013 Managerial Role. The project scope includes the installation of well gas injection surface facilities for 10 oil producers along with more than 30km gas injection pipelines network and pressure letdown station. 2003 – 2006 BuHasa Field Development Project. The project involves the upgrade and replacement of the existing central processing and production facilities at BuHasa Field. The responsibilities included reviewing mechanical deliverables, prepare & evaluate contractor scope for variation orders, resolve technical queries.
