Existing Product - FourFourTwo
• The shots that are used for the front cover of the FourFourTwo magazines are often close ups of
the person they are taking the photo off. They are shot inside a studio with additional lightning
to enhance the quality of the photo with a few adjustments afterwards to complete the photo in
post production.
• The colours that are used in the magazines depend on what football team there shooting for or
who the photo-shoot is off. For example Mohammed Salah plays for Liverpool and for the
background of his magazine the colour used was red. Which is the primary colour of Liverpool.FC
for this they have put Mo in a red Adidas jumper to allow the two different shades of red
contrast together nicely which would give it a nice appeal to the audience because its eye
catching Also the use of other colours such as the yellow to allow his name to stand out to make
people see who the magazine is talking about and the white which tells people you have
published the magazine.
• FourFourTwo. (2018). The ultimate football magazine. Available:

Existing Product – World Soccer
• The type of image that World Soccer use is a snapshot of the player during a game. Therefore the
location is on a football pitch inside a stadium. The angle of the photo is side on.
• Post-production on this kind of photo will be cutting the image out of the photo and deleting
everything that should have been in the original photo such as fans or other players.
• The use of lightning and composition is very bright and formal which grabs the attention of the
magazine audience because the main piece is a player passionately celebrating.
• The colour contrasts between the football kit, the title and the background all go together very
nicely and stand out. Due to the white background choice this allows all of the other colours
involved to stand out amongst one another perfectly.
• This magazine appeals to the audience because visually its appealing and is eye catching and makes
you want to read what's inside it and find out the reason that this player is the player on the front
cover.
Existing Product - Match
• Match magazine are similar to the way the World Soccer magazines use images for
their front cover, they get a snapshot of which ever player they are going to be using
for the front cover of the issue and edit and erase all the background and anything
else out so that its just the player they need.
• The angle of the photo is straight on front view of the players.
• For the front cover of this magazine they have chosen Salah, De Bruyne and Kane,
currently the three best players in the premier league. This gives the magazine a
meaning created through the content because these are the players that everyone is
currently talking about therefore it also gives it audience appeal because for anyone
who is a football fan that sees these players in the same magazine together it will
instantly appeal to them.
• The colour scheme of this magazine doesn’t really exist. There are several colours
and I feel the magazine have to this to make the magazine as bright as possible to
make it stand out against other magazines.
• The font styles that they have chosen to use are big and bold and in black and white
which are the two strong colours when alongside other colours like yellow and blue.
Existing Product – Match of the Day
The front of these magazines are yet again a snapshot however this one has combined all
the photos into a collage style which would have been completed in the editing later on
in the process of the magazine.
The font used in this magazine is similar to the one other magazines which is big and
bold with a solid colour fill. What's different about this magazine is that the colour
scheme is a red blue and grey style with the odd bits of white but this might be because
it’s a 500th special.
The audience appeal in this magazine is that it has special football cards which give it
another sale point over the other magazines because they are desirable to the younger
target audience
Research Analysis
• Common features that the researched products have are that they often
use snapshots which they later edit to make either a crisp image of a
player as an action shot or they make a collage of different players all
action shots and place them next to one another.
• Another common feature I have noticed is that they all use the same style
and layout for example, big and bold text.
• The colour schemes that are used bright colours that contrast well with
one another.
• Aspects of the research that I intend to use within my own production
work is a bright colour scheme and the use of big text which will allow my
magazine to stand out. I will be mixing my magazine up with snap shots ad
standing shots.
Questionnaire Analysis

Audience research
• My audience is clearly supporting me by the way that they support my idea of creating a football
magazine by calling it a great idea. However they did say they won’t be reading the magazine
although they support the idea. They have giving me ideas that I think are useful and I will use
even thought they aren't going to be reading my magazine.
• If they where to change their mind my magazine would appeal to the because I will be using their
suggestions of interviews and facts also the fact they want it worldwide this will allow me to have a
more options for my magazine.
respondent_id=6832482408
Audience research
• This suggests that my audience isn't a big football fan because they aren't really interested in the
magazine and when asked would they purchase today they said that they wouldn’t. This isn’t the
best response however I will still use their idea of statistics of the players in my magazine as I like
the idea. Also this would make it appealing to them if they decided to change their mind about
purchasing the magazine.

Audience research
• For the observation of this person, they clearly aren’t interested in football as they that
they wouldn’t have any interest within the magazine and would recommend it to
anyone. I'm still going to consider how much they think I should sell the magazine for.
This is very negative feedback for my magazine.
https://www.surveymonkey.com/analyze/browse/9TGL7HWfrbTm8j_2BPnOVqdk00uWdXb
Cc8FX47dMIcnUw_3D?respondent_id=6832467490
Audience research
• From my observation this person doesn’t appear to be a football fan although they said that
they wouldn’t read the magazine they like the idea of creating a football magazine which is
good and they also stated what they would like to see included in the magazine if they were
to read it. I like their idea of different information on different teams and the potential for a
biography on a player.

Audience research- Overall
• Overall I feel my magazine isn’t very popular after doing my primary research.
However there was some positives;
• One person wanted to see statistics about how the club have been playing which
was an idea I quite liked a lot and I'm likely to include in my magazine.
• Another idea was how much I should be charging for my magazine. I had prices
from the feedback between ÂŁ1 and ÂŁ4.99 I feel for a football magazine from the
feedback that ÂŁ1.99 is good value for money for a magazine.
• I liked the idea of making the magazine world wide however my personal favourite
is premier league so I’m not to sure what I’m going to do.
• The negatives from my audience research is that majority of my audience weren’t
interested in football therefore didn’t listen to their opinion because I wasn’t going
to benefit my work.
Interviews
Interview 1
• What’s your opinion on a football magazine? I don’t like football so I wouldn’t read one
• Are you a football fan? If not what would change your mind to become one? No if maybe it
made sense and I had the time to get in to it.
• Is £1.99 a fair price for a magazine? (please state your ideal price below if not.) it is a good
price ÂŁ3.50 is the best price I think because you would profit more and ÂŁ3 is the boarder line
to it been expensive.
• How important is the visual aspect of the magazine? Very important, best bit is the photos
and colour scheme.
• If you could choose anything you’d like to see in a football magazine what would it be?
Maybe adverts that also appeals to other people then just football fans.
• What is your age? 17.
Interview 1
• My interview : My reflection of my interview is that Randall isn’t into football
magazines. I was happy to hear his opinion even though he doesn’t like football
because it will allow me to try change his mind about football for example he said
he doesn’t really understand the game, this could maybe allow me to explain the
general basics of the game in the magazines either through diagrams or texts.
• He also said adverts that would maybe attract other people to the magazine
however I don’t feel that will be good for my magazine as I want to only focus on
football fans seen as it’s a football only magazine.
Interview 2
• What’s your opinion on a football magazine? I really like the idea on a football magazine as
I’m a big football fan.
• Are you a football fan? If not what would change your mind to become one? Yes.
• Is £1.99 a fair price for a magazine? (please state your ideal price below if not.) Yeah, I think
ÂŁ1.99 is a suitable price.
• How important is the visual aspect of the magazine? Very important as it is the visual appeal
of a magazine that sells it before the reader has even ad chance to read it because it’s the
looks off the magazine that catches the buyers eye.
• If you could choose anything you’d like to see in a football magazine what would it be? I
would like to see player statistics and records throughout football.
• What is your age? 16.
Interview 2
• My interview reflection with Jude is definitely one of my most positive ones
because he’s clearly into football and has given me some good ideas to work with.
• My product will appeal to my audience because they are huge football fans and
seem to enjoy the idea of a football magazine which will make it easier for me
when creating my product.

  • 2. Existing Product - FourFourTwo • The shots that are used for the front cover of the FourFourTwo magazines are often close ups of the person they are taking the photo off. They are shot inside a studio with additional lightning to enhance the quality of the photo with a few adjustments afterwards to complete the photo in post production. • The colours that are used in the magazines depend on what football team there shooting for or who the photo-shoot is off. For example Mohammed Salah plays for Liverpool and for the background of his magazine the colour used was red. Which is the primary colour of Liverpool.FC for this they have put Mo in a red Adidas jumper to allow the two different shades of red contrast together nicely which would give it a nice appeal to the audience because its eye catching Also the use of other colours such as the yellow to allow his name to stand out to make people see who the magazine is talking about and the white which tells people you have published the magazine. • FourFourTwo. (2018). The ultimate football magazine. • 3. Existing Product – World Soccer • The type of image that World Soccer use is a snapshot of the player during a game. Therefore the location is on a football pitch inside a stadium. The angle of the photo is side on. • Post-production on this kind of photo will be cutting the image out of the photo and deleting everything that should have been in the original photo such as fans or other players. • The use of lightning and composition is very bright and formal which grabs the attention of the magazine audience because the main piece is a player passionately celebrating. • The colour contrasts between the football kit, the title and the background all go together very nicely and stand out. Due to the white background choice this allows all of the other colours involved to stand out amongst one another perfectly. • This magazine appeals to the audience because visually its appealing and is eye catching and makes you want to read what's inside it and find out the reason that this player is the player on the front cover.
  • 4. Existing Product - Match • Match magazine are similar to the way the World Soccer magazines use images for their front cover, they get a snapshot of which ever player they are going to be using for the front cover of the issue and edit and erase all the background and anything else out so that its just the player they need. • The angle of the photo is straight on front view of the players. • For the front cover of this magazine they have chosen Salah, De Bruyne and Kane, currently the three best players in the premier league. This gives the magazine a meaning created through the content because these are the players that everyone is currently talking about therefore it also gives it audience appeal because for anyone who is a football fan that sees these players in the same magazine together it will instantly appeal to them. • The colour scheme of this magazine doesn’t really exist. There are several colours and I feel the magazine have to this to make the magazine as bright as possible to make it stand out against other magazines. • The font styles that they have chosen to use are big and bold and in black and white which are the two strong colours when alongside other colours like yellow and blue.
  • 5. Existing Product – Match of the Day The front of these magazines are yet again a snapshot however this one has combined all the photos into a collage style which would have been completed in the editing later on in the process of the magazine. The font used in this magazine is similar to the one other magazines which is big and bold with a solid colour fill. What's different about this magazine is that the colour scheme is a red blue and grey style with the odd bits of white but this might be because it’s a 500th special. The audience appeal in this magazine is that it has special football cards which give it another sale point over the other magazines because they are desirable to the younger target audience
  • 6. Research Analysis • Common features that the researched products have are that they often use snapshots which they later edit to make either a crisp image of a player as an action shot or they make a collage of different players all action shots and place them next to one another. • Another common feature I have noticed is that they all use the same style and layout for example, big and bold text. • The colour schemes that are used bright colours that contrast well with one another. • Aspects of the research that I intend to use within my own production work is a bright colour scheme and the use of big text which will allow my magazine to stand out. I will be mixing my magazine up with snap shots ad standing shots.
  • 8. Audience research • My audience is clearly supporting me by the way that they support my idea of creating a football magazine by calling it a great idea. However they did say they won’t be reading the magazine although they support the idea. They have giving me ideas that I think are useful and I will use even thought they aren't going to be reading my magazine. • If they where to change their mind my magazine would appeal to the because I will be using their suggestions of interviews and facts also the fact they want it worldwide this will allow me to have a more options for my magazine. • https://www.surveymonkey.com/analyze/browse/9TGL7HWfrbTm8j_2BPnOVqdk00uWdXbCc8FX47dMIcnUw_3D? respondent_id=6832482408
  • 9. Audience research • This suggests that my audience isn't a big football fan because they aren't really interested in the magazine and when asked would they purchase today they said that they wouldn’t. This isn’t the best response however I will still use their idea of statistics of the players in my magazine as I like the idea. Also this would make it appealing to them if they decided to change their mind about purchasing the magazine. • https://www.surveymonkey.com/analyze/browse/9TGL7HWfrbTm8j_2BPnOVqdk00uWdXbCc8FX47 dMIcnUw_3D?respondent_id=6832467926
  • 10. Audience research • For the observation of this person, they clearly aren’t interested in football as they that they wouldn’t have any interest within the magazine and would recommend it to anyone. I'm still going to consider how much they think I should sell the magazine for. This is very negative feedback for my magazine. https://www.surveymonkey.com/analyze/browse/9TGL7HWfrbTm8j_2BPnOVqdk00uWdXb Cc8FX47dMIcnUw_3D?respondent_id=6832467490
  • 11. Audience research • From my observation this person doesn’t appear to be a football fan although they said that they wouldn’t read the magazine they like the idea of creating a football magazine which is good and they also stated what they would like to see included in the magazine if they were to read it. I like their idea of different information on different teams and the potential for a biography on a player. • https://www.surveymonkey.com/analyze/browse/9TGL7HWfrbTm8j_2BPnOVqdk00uWdXbCc 8FX47dMIcnUw_3D?respondent_id=6832464123
  • 12. Audience research- Overall • Overall I feel my magazine isn’t very popular after doing my primary research. However there was some positives; • One person wanted to see statistics about how the club have been playing which was an idea I quite liked a lot and I'm likely to include in my magazine. • Another idea was how much I should be charging for my magazine. I had prices from the feedback between ÂŁ1 and ÂŁ4.99 I feel for a football magazine from the feedback that ÂŁ1.99 is good value for money for a magazine. • I liked the idea of making the magazine world wide however my personal favourite is premier league so I’m not to sure what I’m going to do. • The negatives from my audience research is that majority of my audience weren’t interested in football therefore didn’t listen to their opinion because I wasn’t going to benefit my work.
  • 14. Interview 1 • What’s your opinion on a football magazine? I don’t like football so I wouldn’t read one • Are you a football fan? If not what would change your mind to become one? No if maybe it made sense and I had the time to get in to it. • Is ÂŁ1.99 a fair price for a magazine? (please state your ideal price below if not.) it is a good price ÂŁ3.50 is the best price I think because you would profit more and ÂŁ3 is the boarder line to it been expensive. • How important is the visual aspect of the magazine? Very important, best bit is the photos and colour scheme. • If you could choose anything you’d like to see in a football magazine what would it be? Maybe adverts that also appeals to other people then just football fans. • What is your age? 17.
  • 15. Interview 1 • My interview : My reflection of my interview is that Randall isn’t into football magazines. I was happy to hear his opinion even though he doesn’t like football because it will allow me to try change his mind about football for example he said he doesn’t really understand the game, this could maybe allow me to explain the general basics of the game in the magazines either through diagrams or texts. • He also said adverts that would maybe attract other people to the magazine however I don’t feel that will be good for my magazine as I want to only focus on football fans seen as it’s a football only magazine.
  • 16. Interview 2 • What’s your opinion on a football magazine? I really like the idea on a football magazine as I’m a big football fan. • Are you a football fan? If not what would change your mind to become one? Yes. • Is ÂŁ1.99 a fair price for a magazine? (please state your ideal price below if not.) Yeah, I think ÂŁ1.99 is a suitable price. • How important is the visual aspect of the magazine? Very important as it is the visual appeal of a magazine that sells it before the reader has even ad chance to read it because it’s the looks off the magazine that catches the buyers eye. • If you could choose anything you’d like to see in a football magazine what would it be? I would like to see player statistics and records throughout football. • What is your age? 16.
  • 17. Interview 2 • My interview reflection with Jude is definitely one of my most positive ones because he’s clearly into football and has given me some good ideas to work with. • My product will appeal to my audience because they are huge football fans and seem to enjoy the idea of a football magazine which will make it easier for me when creating my product.
