2. Initial Reaction
• My initial reaction was to create a magazine based on thing that I enjoy. For example football
or video games or movies. I have previously made a magazine on football which I enjoyed
creating and designing.
• For my football Idea I would create a magazine based on a certain football club as a club
special and select certain things. I would create my magazine on my favourite club which is
Liverpool. My magazine would consist of the history of the club and other factors such as
what is currently happening within the team with team facts etc. I feel this could be a strong
ide as I'm a passionate sports fan and especially about the team I support.
• Another idea that popped into my head straight away was to create a magazine on a game
that is currently the worlds most played game which is Fortnite as I enjoy playing the game
and would enjoy creating a magazine based on the current game. What's potentially going to
happen and let people know about all the new updates coming to the game such as new
skins and weapons.
• My final initial reaction was to consider doing movies. This is the one I would be least
interested to do however I do enjoy watching the occasional film and feel because the film
industry is global that i would have a lot of good ideas to play around with.
6. Mood board analysis
• My analysis of my mood board is that I have
used existing products because I haven’t yet
taken or got any photos of the local teams kit.
These are a few examples of the kind of
photos I want to achieve such as football
boots and football kits.
8. Mood Board Analysis
There is repetition in the colours I have found in the way that the primary colour of the kit and its secondary colour
contrast together very well making the kit stand out. I also noticed the sponsorships of the club are often in a plain and
simple font style which is easy to read. It is also in he secondary colour which allows it to be more visible when against
the primary colour of the it.
The sponsorships like to be placed in the centre of the kits where the chest would be or on the sleeves of the football
kits. I chose similar image styles to be able to compare the similarities and layouts of the kits.
When looking at a front cover football magazine you can see straight away that the colours are powerful and bright
and the pictures are close ups of the players with a lot of text around them which is eye catching. Where as a
newspaper front cover put an image of the person they are talking about and a made up slogan that is catchy, for
example “Roo blows fuse over boos” They also add bold text in a large font to make it stand out. When looking at the
inside articles the magazine articles have several photos and less text which combined is a nice balance because they
give the right amount of information for the readers but it doesn’t make people see it and think I don’t want to read
that cause its to long. However newspapers have the opposite strategy where they put one or two photos and a lot of
text.
My mood board will not influence my final product as my photos of my product is already complete however it will
make me look at the football kit I'm capturing and see comparisons between that and premier league club kits as most
Sunday league clubs try to replicate the layout of big football team kits. Also I will try to replicate the layout of the
magazine front and inside cover instead of the newspaper article.
