2. For the creation of my front cover in my music magazine I used the
software Photoshop using a variety of skills to make the cover.
To create the text, I used the text tool on the tool bar and made a text
box. After choosing a font and size I typed it and then edited the way
thy looked by double clicking on the layer and choosing using mainly
drop shadow, this made the text stand out to the audience more as it
had more substance.
To change the background on my main image, I used the pen tool and when
around the cover star cutting out the unused parts. This allowed me to get a
better background that appealed to the audience more.
To get the black background on the banner at the bottom of the magazine cover,
I used the shape tool make a rectangle and change the colour to black.
I took the background photo separately to the cover
stars photo, this was because I would have only need
the actor once and I could experiment with different
backgrounds, fit the needs of the target audience.
3. For the double paged spread and the contents page, I used
quark express because it had a wider variety of tool that were
needed to make them. I did it because you can organise the
text and images in the conventional 3 column structure that
are seen on all magazines.
For the photo on the DPS I used Photoshop to change the brightness and
the contrast of the photo to make it look darker and appeal to the target
audience as they stereotypically like darker colours. I did this to make the
photo stand out and striking to the audience so they give more attention
when they see it and therefor buy it.
To import all of the text I used a word document to type everything up
and then draw a text box and import it and changing the column
structure to 3 so it looks professional and conventional. I did this because
it is easier to type up the article and then just import the article adjusting
the size in quark so I could save time on other thing.
With all the images I drew a image box an imported the image
lining it up. Importing them this way was done because it is how
quark works and allows for creators to adjust there photos
eaiser.
4. I also used other technologies to create the production for example I
used like a DSLR camera to take the photos. I used this for all 3 of my
pages. With the live performance of Catfish taken on my phone
before when I went to see them.
The computer is a form of technology as everything that I used
to edit happened on there.
I used the software Microsoft word to help me create my
magazine contents page and double page spread. I did this to
import the main body text because it is easier to layout on quark.
