2. First of all, I added a
gradient to the
background. The
gradient changes
from white to grey. I
did this using the
paint bucket tool.
3. Then I added the title
using the text t00l. I
also added effects t0
make the ‘neon’ appear
like a neon sign. I chose
blue as the prominent
colour for my colour
scheme, and this blue is
used in my contents
page and double paged
spread.
4. I then added the
image. I cut out the
image using the cut
tool, and I placed it
just slightly covering
the ‘neon’ this is a
convention that I
have seen done in
other magazines.
5. Next I added filters
and effects to the
image to make it
match my colour
scheme better.
6. I then added text for the
magazine, and placed
it where I have seen
other professional
magazines do so. The
colour of it matches
the title.
7. I then added two
white boxes using
the rectangle tool so
that I could add my
main coverline and
make it as possible
as possible.
8. I added the coverline
using the text tool. The
blue colour also matches
the title
9. Again, using the text tool,
I added more
coverlines. They feature
prominent indie bands
and also my double
page spread
10. I then added text on top of
a rectangle in the top
right hand corner of the
magazine. I used the
rectangle and text tools
for this. This is another
common feature of a
professional magazine.
11. I then added a barcode,
date, issue number, price
And website in the
bottom right hand
corner. I used the
rectangle and text tool for
this.
