2. I changed the size of the image so it fit the
page of the double page spread. I made the
width half so I could split the dps in the middle
I copied the image which was edited before
hand and pasted it onto the white dps
spread.
3. I wanted the page with the text to be of a grey colour. so I
used the shape tool and made a rectangle of the same
size of the image and put it next to the image after filling it
with a light grey colour.
I zoomed in on the image and created the text
‘Chapters’ using the arial italic font and put it on
the right hand side of the image
4. I repeated that step for the word ‘torn’, I then
changed the colour of ‘chapters’ so it matched the
other page colour. On both texts I lowered the
opacity to give it a fading effect
I added the actual article text on the other side of
spread. First I did the stand first and put it at the top
but made it centre spaced. I then added the article
paragraph by paragraph so I could make sure the
columns were the same size. I made a gap for where
the pull out quote goes
5. I then added the pull out quote but changed the colour
of certain words to make them standout, I also made
the text bigger than the rest of the article itself.
6. After looking for inspiration at other dps, I moved the
masthead to the right to give the picture more space. I
then added a drop letter, a letter bigger than all others
in the text. Also I made the stand first bigger in font
and moved it so it was on top of the article and not in
the centre. I also moved the article down and on the
picture I put words and picture and included my name.
