Army Varsity Team
Problem Identification: The problem identified in the HBR Case Study the Army Crew Team was
Coach P s assumption that choosing the most physically fit rowers would yield a high performing
team. Coach P. failed to understand how team dynamics, morale, and overall emotional intelligence of
the team can inhibit team success.
Alternative Analysis: Coach P. was baffled why the Varsity team performed poorly as opposed to the
non Varsity team. While he put much thought with selecting the most physically fit team mates, he
failed to understand the importance of recognizing and working through issues in relation to emotional
intelligence. The Varsity group kept pointing the finger on others, failing to recognize and take
accountability for their overall subpar performance. Rather than work through the negative team
dynamics, they often emailed their complaints to the coach. An emotionally intelligent group would
have worked through their issues together as a group. If someone is acting out of line, the team
members must feel comfortable calling the foul. The team needed to build positive norms such as
responding constructively in emotionally uncomfortable situations (Amabille, 2013). The team did not

Coach P. should better understand the importance of establishing positive emotional intelligence with
the team, and lay out clear groundworks to establish this. As mentioned earlier, an emotionally
intelligent team will hold eachother accountable with working through negative areas. If someone falls
out of line, the team would need to agree to call eachother out on behaviors that add no group value.
Coach P. would need to lead by example, and call members out if they are not in line with the agreed
upon expectations. The group would need to commit to lead eachother

The Material Selection For Disc
3.1 Material Selection for Disc A turbine disc rotates at high angular velocity and operates at higher
temperature. High angular velocity induces higher centrifugal stress and high temperature gradient
induces higher thermal stress. This operating condition demands that material used for the turbine disc
should have high strength even at elevated temperature. Specifically, the tensile yield strength should
be high enough to withstand centrifugal stress developed by disc and axial loading by blades and the
fatigue strength should be high enough to withstand high stress and low cycle fatigue. In addition to
LCF concern, materials for modern turbine disc were driven by commercial constraints like lower
component cost, life cycle and maintenance cost. Materials like wasploy, Cr Mo Vo alloys, A 286
alloys were used earlier but they have low yield and fatigue strength at higher temperature. Inorder to
compensate these demands Ni based super alloys Udimet 720 and Inconel 718 are used. These alloys
offer efficient compromise between performance and economics. The key properties of Ni based super
alloys are: 1. They have high stiffness and tensile yield strength at higher temperature to ensure
accurate blade location and resistance to over speed burst failure. 2. They are resistant to high
temperature oxidation and hot corrosion attack. 3. They also have the ability to withstand fretting
damage at mechanical fitting. 4. Creep strength to avoid distortion and crack

The Cuban National Hero Jose Marti, A Precursor Of Latin...
Within this essay I am going to compare and contrast two rather different nationalist ideas that
prevailed in Latin America during the nineteenth century. My concentration in this comparison is on
how ethnicity and race are illustrated. The first nationalist thinker whose ideas I intent to discuss is the
Cuban national hero José Martí, a precursor of Latin American modernism. I will contrast Martí s
ideas and writings with the Peruvian journalist and political philosopher José Carlos Mariátegui, the
representative and advocator of twentieth century Latin American Marxist ideas. There are some
similarities between the offered social solutions between these authors: mainly their rejection of
imported models of society and politics. However, within this essay I am arguing that the humanistic
points of view between them have little in common. Whereas Martí promotes acceptance of all people
and all races, and considers all people equal to each other, Mariátegui, despite claiming to be racially
indifferent and accepting, in fact reveals racist and discriminating arguments that undermine his
claimed acceptance and embracement of the different races of America. To support my argument, I
will be offering relevant examples from both authors most famous publications, Martí s Nuestra
América and Mi Raza , and Mariátegui s Siete ensayos de interpretación sobre la realidad peruana ,
and El problema de las razas en América Latina . Mariátegui s ideology is strongly tied to the

Why Sports Have Been Such A Good Analysis
Another reason why sports have been such a good part of my life is because I fill my time playing
rather than getting in trouble. Throughout school one of my biggest motivations to not goof off in
class and to behave my best in school is sports. As a student athlete, I know if I get in trouble at school
then I could get in trouble with my coach and not be able to play in the next game. By getting in
trouble, I m taking myself out of the game and letting down my teammates. Nowadays most kids I
know who are not involved in a sport are most likely not motivated to succeed in anything or even
care about anything in life. They spend their time drinking, doing drugs and partying or breaking the
law. They have no guidance or a positive way to fill

The Role Of Honor In Shiba Yoshimasa s Advice To Young...
Advice to Young Samurai was written written by Shiba Yoshimasa in 1400. This Text comes from
Japan. Shiba Yoshimasa live from 1349 to 1410. He was a general, an administrator, a feudal Lord, as
well as a poet. The document being examined was written by Yoshimasa as a manual intended to give
advice for young warriors of which would be descendants of him. In Japan, being a Samurai was a
common practice between the twelfth and nineteenth century, which explains why this document
would have been produced at this time. It is clear that Honor plays a huge role in the practices of
Samurais. This is made clear in the beginning of the text. He makes it clear that it is important to make
sure they bring honor to their descendants, rather than just themselves.

Misrepresentation Of The English Reformation
Out of the many Protestant reform movements in the sixteenth century, the English Reformation is
arguably the most multifaceted. With numerous individuals involved, and countless theological
perspectives represented, it is tough to identify all the sides politically and relationally involved over
the course of approximately a century of radical change. While many might contemplate that the
simple goal of this movement was a corrupt king s desire for divorce which certainly was an
underlying cause the formation of Anglicanism had many twists and turns on its journey to become
what is believed by many to be the least radical and perhaps most stable compromise between
observance of ancient tradition and Protestantism, which is now termed the via ... Show more content

Proponents of this theory claim that the English Reformation was commenced by Henry for dynastic
motives, was inflicted and coerced from above, and was predominantly a political tactic. As distorted
as this revisionist interpretation is, the classical perspective is also inaccurate. A.G. Dickens and other
advocates for this understanding summarize, The received view assumed that, in spite of some
resistance, the Reformation agenda was welcomed with open arms by the nation as a whole. It was
primarily a theological movement. The Church was ripe for Reformation: a surge of reforming ideas
met with an enthusiastic reception in a populace deeply disillusioned with the corruption, superstition
and obscurantism of the late medieval Church. A more balanced understanding of the circumstances
leading up to, during, and following the English Reformation reveal that both perspectives are perhaps
equally simplified as well as miscalculated. The full weight of Henry s impetuses as conceited as they
might be undoubtedly carried categorical developments to the ecclesiology of the church in England,
as well as its relationship to Rome and other nations, in a very conclusive and pronounced manner;
this was no secret to those living in the sixteenth century, and is just as unequivocal today. However,
the intricacies encompassed by the cast of characters involved in the tangible restructuring of both the
temporal and spiritual foundations of England as a commonwealth during the Protestant Reformation
are numerous and disorienting at best. The Reformation in England was not the uneventful, sustained
intentness of a consistent plot, envisioned in the intellects of any one party. Instead, it was a
multifaceted, accidental, convoluted succession of incidents. Christopher

Steve Jobs Leadership Style and Analysis
Whether you loved Steve Jobs or hated him, whether you are a Mac or a PC user, whether you are an
iPhone or an Android owner, there is one thing that there s little doubt about: Steve Jobs was an
amazing leader who expected and got the most out of those who worked for him.
With his recent passing and the release of his biography, other leaders have gotten a chance to take a
closer look at how Steve Jobs lived, thought, and ran his company. It s an interesting opportunity to
look at the inner workings of one of the tech world s most private men.
So what lessons can leaders glean from Steve Jobs? There are too many to choose but here are five of
the critical lessons one can learn from Steve Jobs life and success.

A review of various definitions finds that a vision differs from other forms of direction setting in
several ways: A vision has clear and compelling imagery that offers an innovative way to improve,
which recognizes and draws on traditions, and connects to actions that people can take to realize
change. Vision taps people’s emotions and energy. Properly articulated, a vision creates the
enthusiasm that people have for sporting events and other leisure time activities, bringing this energy
and commitment to the workplace.
The key properties of a vision seem to be inspirational possibilities that are value centered, realizable,
with superior imagery and articulation. Visions should be able to create possibility that are
inspirational, unique, and offer a new a order that can produce organizational distinction.
A vision is likely to fail if it doesn’t offer a view of the future that is clearly and demonstrably
better for the organization and its members. Desirable visions fit the times and circumstances and
reflect the uniqueness of the organization. People in the organization must also believe that the vision
is attainable. It should be perceived as challenging yet doable. Also, visions that have clear articulation
and powerful imagery are more easily grasped and accepted.

The Great, By Richard Bausch
Happily Never After
The universe doesn t owe you, me, or anyone a thing, except for death. Though as kids most of us
were led to believe that with enough effort and hard work were going to become whatever we wanted
to be, we were going to have whatever our little hearts desired, and we were going to do whatever we
wanted to do. However, as we grew up we realized that this is not the case. There are millions of
people who did not become professional athletes, models, or billionaires, people who never got to
have the mansions, cars, and fame that they always longed for, people who never got to travel the
world, cure cancer, or fly into space. These are all mostly childlike dreams, which were probably
imposed unto us by either our parents or society. There s nothing wrong with children having these
sort of improbable dreams, however, there comes a time where we can no longer be children. In the
story Tandolfo the Great, written by Richard Bausch, we are introduced to Rodney Wilbury aka
Tandolfo the Great, who is a suitable example to demonstrate what life can be like for those who are
unable to grow out of their childlike mind sets. In this analysis I will be inspecting how Tandolfo the
Great s childish mind set, from his strong sense of entitlement to his inability to let go of the past
events, has almost destroyed his life and how it can destroy anyone else s.
Tandolfo the Great is a twenty six year old man, who is a part time clown that has fallen in love with a

Reverend Hale
Reverend Hale s Metamorphosis In Arthur Miller s play, The Crucible, it is clear that Reverend John
Hale of Beverly is the character that undergoes the most dramatic transformation and is a perfect
example of how a well respected, strong willed man can be changed due to deceit and lies. His
reputation and control in the play moves between two extremes as the events continue shifting from
confident accuser to helper of the accused. Hale s arrival during Act I in Salem depicts him as
character full of confidence and eager to utilize his knowledge of witchcraft and he is clear of his
intentions. This is a beloved errand for him; on being called here to ascertain witchcraft he felt the
pride of one specialist whose unique knowledge has at ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I I have indeed. [It is his own suspicion, but he resists it. He glances at Elizabeth, then at John] . His
stutter suggests that he is reluctant to reply to Proctor but ultimately he agrees. This quote reveals to us
that Hale is questioning the confessions of the girls for the first time. During this period we see Hale s
belief in the girl s story beginning to change as he begins to support Proctor. Hale s loss of control is
also demonstrated in Act II through his lack of knowledge on the current situation. When Cheever
stated that Elizabeth has been charged, Hale had no awareness of this accusation and has to ask
Cheever When were she charged? unlike the beginning of the play when everyone asked Hale
questions. Rebecca s charge also surprises Hale which once again proves that he is no longer in
control of the situation like he was at the beginning. Hale further questions the actions of the court and
the genuineness of the accusations here as he cannot believe that such supposedly innocent and holy
people are being accused. Hale s actions are very indefinite and he speaks in great uncertainty which
reflects his loss of control and completely contrasts the manner in which he spoke towards the
beginning of the play. His uncertainty is further proof of him beginning to question the justice of the
events and his beliefs. Once again, we see Hale s lack of control and loss of reputation in Act III.

The Bravery of Odysseus
Odysseus, King of Ithaca, and the main character in homer s The Odyssey, was gone for twenty years
before finally returning to his family and his homeland. He struggled through many hardships and lost
many loyal companions. The King of Ithaca would not have made it home without the assistance of
the Greek gods. Despite all of the help and advice that Odysseus receives from the gods, he is a very
brave man because his courage and daring in the cave of the Cyclops, his inability to give up and
abandon his men on Circe s island, and his flawless following of the gods instructions are acts of
bravery that is uncommon in most men. Odysseus courage in the cave of the Cyclops Polyphemus
banishes his crew s trepidation and eventually gets them out of there. When Polyphemus returns to the
cave after capturing them, Odysseus takes the risk to get the Cyclops attention so he can manipulate
the one eyed giant into drinking the potent wine. Odysseus bravery is catching and he inspires those
with him. Once Polyphemus has passed out, Odysseus and a few other men stab the giant s eye. This
quote of Odysseus inspiring his men in the Cyclops cave shows how Odysseus bravery never
abandons him even in a situation where it seems he cannot win: Now, at last, I thrust our stake into a
bed of embers to get it red hot and rallied all my comrades Courage no panic, no one hang back now!
(9. 420 422). Odysseus boldness ultimately leads to an escape. Without the courage that never seems

Greed In The Necklace By Guy De Maupassant
Throughout the ages, literature has consistently reflected the interests and activities of a people.
Therefore, some themes have been dominant in World Literature from ancient times to the present.
One such theme greed and generosity, which is explored in the French short story The Necklace by
Guy de Maupassant. On August 5, 1850, Maupassant was born near Normandy, France, where he
lived for the majority of his childhood. He was the first son of Laure Le Poittevin and Gustave de
Maupassant, who were both from prestigious bourgeois families. When Maupassant was eleven years

Madame Loisel serves as a stark contrast to both her husband, Monsieur Loisel, and Madame

contrasting desires of his wife to be further emphasized (Wilson 169). Although Monsieur Loisel
continuously tries to please his wife, she remains ungrateful and restless she is never satisfied with the
incredible effort he puts forth in order to make her happy. Once again trying to please his wife,
Monsieur Loisel manages to receive two invitations to a formal ball held by the Ministry of Public

life she desires, be it only for one night. Initially, Madame Loisel is unhappy with the invitation

the desire to be on a permanent state of euphoria or at least with being supposed to be a happy go

Francisco Aguirre Research Paper
The first type of vines that was brought into Chile was the vitis vinifera. The vines was brought to
Chile by the Spanish in the year 1554. The man that they say planted the first wine was known by the
name Francisco Aguirre (H. Johnson J. Robinson, 2005:297 299). The vines that came from Spanish
established vineyards had black grapes and was bought to Mexico by Hernan Cortes in 1520. The
grapes that was being produced that time was cultivated by Jesuit priests, because they used the wine
that was being produced to celebrate the Eucharist. The distribution of black grapes was described in
the 16th century by Alonso de Ovalle that was from Chile (J. Robinson, 2006:163 167). The Spanish

The way that the sweetness of the wine were made was because the wine was boiled and that helped to
concentrate the must of the grapes (J. Robinson, 2006:163 167). Chile s history was mostly influenced
by the French mostly the Bordeaux winemaking. The phylloxera epidemic made Chile deide to import
vines from France. The Chilean Silvestre Errazuriz imported Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Carbernet
Franc, Malbec, Sauvignon blanc and Sémillon. The Chilean went so far as Germany to experiment
with Riesling (H. Johnson, 1989:432 434). In the 20th century the Chileans started to transport wine to
Argentina, but there was too much problems with the transport and they struggled to export wines.
They agreed on building a railway between Chile and Argentina in 1909 that made the transport of the
wine much easier (Lacoste, Pablo. 2004). There came a time in the 20th century were the wine of
Chile was considered as bad quality wine in the 1980s. Chile had great conditions for viticulture
practises and the people realized it and started to invest in the wine of Chile. Chile then became the
third leading exporter of wine after France and Italy ( K.MacNeil,

Redundant Target Effect
Our daily task requires us to pay full attention towards them, with a full sense of concious. During
those daily tasks our attention is divided among our surroundings. It gives us the ability to multitask,
as we can foucus on multiple subjects at the same time. However, this ability declines as we age.
Older adults have a difficcult time processing information in the visual periphery. Mnay researches
have been done to compare young adult and older adults functional field of View (FFOV). Though the
expectation for the results of the research was not met, by measuring the retinal area from which
observers can collect information necessary to make specific judgements, we can determine the

The analysis of RTs (reaction time) and error are measured by Age X Target visual field. The resutls
indicated that older adults had longer RTs toward the targets in the lower visual field (LVF) than the

fields because the targets either appered in the UVF or in LVF. The targets were not present in both
fields at the same time. The Rts had shorter redundent target trials than the single target trials because
the processing time is determined how fast and quick the channel in each trial are. This effect is
known as statistical faciliation. The redundant target reduce error rates, and displays with clutter had
higher errror rates than the no clutter display. Older adults showed more interaction of clutter than
young children. However, there was no evidence of speed accuracy, but suprisingly the capacity

Homeschooling And Public Education
Is your child at the age where they need to begin their education? Are you conflicted with the many
options of where to educate your child? When it comes to the issue of education, many people from
educators to students to parents to administrators to politicians have different ideas as to what makes
for the best education. According to Samantha Moore, in her evaluation essay titled There s no place
like home, she argues that homeschooling provides a better educational experience for students over
the public school system. Specifically she states that evaluating homeschooling through aesthetic,
moral, and practical criteria favors homeschooling over public school (Moore, 2017, p. 2). In other
words, she expresses that homeschooling is better morally, is cheaper and more convenient, and is
safer. While I agree that for some students faced with certain situations, homeschooling is the better
option, I disagree with Moore s overall claim that homeschooling is the best option for students over
public education. By examining the examples from her evaluation essay in a different way, it will
become clear that the American public school system is actually the best option when it comes to
students education. Although Moore makes a point that homeschooled students are often involved in
various activities outside of their home, allowing them the social skills that the majority of people
believe they lack, her argument is flawed in the sense that those activities allowing

Say No to Doping!
Doping in sports has been one of the most discussed issues by the world; either by the free writers or
the body of agencies related with sports. The discussion about this kind of issue has started long time
ago but it became more controversial and intense when Lance Armstrong, who won the 2002 Tour de
France by leaving his nearest rival 7 seconds behind, failed the drug test (Cashmore) . Ellis Cashmore,
a professor of culture, media, and sports at Staffordshire University in the United Kingdom, through
his article, Making Sense of Sports , came up with an argument that drug should be allowed in sports.
In the article, he effectively countered the argument of some people out there that taking drug will lead
to the unfair competition. As we are from the generation who are never bored of seeking the best in
human ability, the usage of drug is crucial in order to boost the performance of the athlete. The
prohibition of drug usage in sports surely will affect the athletes performances and next lead to the
turning off by the fans and this is surely a thing needs to be taken into account (Cashmore) . I, myself,
agree with Ellis Cashmore that drug should be allowed in sports and I will explain my argument in
terms of the misconception about drug, the role of drug in promising competitive sports, and the
function of drug in maintaining athletes health. First, in order to change the entire rule of sports by
allowing the presence of drug in sports, the misconception about

Even though scarlet fever was a big scare for people back then, especially children, and some adults, it
has become a common disease that is easilty treatable. If not treated withtin a timely manner however,
scarlet fever will turn into rheumatic fever which starts the infection of the heart. If that is left
untreated, the disease then becomes giomerulanephritis which is the infection of the kidneys. Today,
scarlet fever is treated with antibiotics that kill the bacteria and the rash should go away in 3 4 days.

Gases During The Holocaust
A huge number of people were killed in gas chambers during the Holocaust. The gas they used during
the Holocaust was called Zyklon B. It was packed into pipes that would spray out of showers. Usually
women and children were gassed and they were not told it was going to happen. Many people would
be crowded into a room with many showerheads in it, being told they would be able to wash off.
However, when the doors would close, the gas would begin to pour out of them into the air. Zyklon B
reacts with the air, so everyone was killed after only a short amount of time in the gassing chambers. It
is really sad that all these people were murdered in such brutal ways during the Holocaust. I drew a
girl, curled up against a wall in a gassing chamber

Analysis Of A Room With A View By E. M. Forster
In A Room with a View, author E.M. Forster contrasts Florence, Italy and Surrey, England in an
attempt to reveal the interests and desires of Lucy Honeychurch, the main character. Forster does this
through showing differences between what each country represents, Lucy s suitors, and the
expectations of men and women in each location. The differences between the countries show how the
life Lucy wants to live and the life she is expected to live differ, and how these differences ultimately
contribute to the meaning of the work.
Each country in the novel represents a conflict in Lucy s life. While in Italy, Lucy is given the freedom
to roam and explore as she pleases. On page 30 it states, I think I shall go out, said Lucy. I want to go

Cecil, on the other hand, believes women are the lesser sex and wants to offer Lucy less independence
because of it. So ran her thoughts, while her faculties were busy with Cecil...When he was cross he
was always elaborate, and made long, clever answers where Yes or No would have done, as stated on
page 109. This passage shows Cecil s unnecessary pretentiousness, and it reveals that Lucy not only
notices his attitude, she finds it distasteful. George, on the other hand, is proven to be joyous and free.
This can be shown on page 105, He smiled, flung himself at them, splashed them, ducked them,
kicked them, muddied them, and drove them out of the pool. The actions listed describe George s
behavior in the pond. He is out there simply enjoying life, and that is the personality Lucy finds
herself wanting. That is the kind of personality that matches Italy, as it fosters independence and joy.
This contradicts England and Cecil, both of which foster pretentious behavior and a stuffy
environment.
Once Part II of the novel is reached, the book transitions from Italy to England. The attitude and
atmosphere shifts, but so do expectations of women. On page 96 it states, At last she longed for
attention, as a woman should, and looked up to him because he is a man. This sentence is referring to
Lucy and Cecil. This is a representation of England because sentences like this are not found in Part I
of this book, only in Part

Ironing Their Clothes By Alvarez Summary
Analysis on Ironing Their Clothes
In the Alvarez, the author depicts to us a child that has much love for their family.
Although there is little time the child has to spend with the family, it has been made very clear that the
child s house keeping responsibilities show the true love for her family. The daughter has no way of
expressing love to her family so the only way she can convey her emotion is through ironing her
family s clothing. Alvarez conveys life to the apparel of her family and additionally to the task itself of
tending to those garments. She portrays the ragged pieces of clothing of her dad to be a representation
of man himself. Worn out by all the work, his garments show the same ideals. The errands her mom
does, the washing,

Pros And Cons Of Natural Law Theory
Natural Law
Thomas Aquinas produced the natural law theory with the believe that all human choices should be an
attempt to avoid evil. When considering the option actions, one must evaluate each option to ensure
they do not violate any of the six universal human values. The six universal human values include
human life, health, procreation, welfare of children, knowledge, and human relationships. If an
optional action directly violates any one of these values then it is not morally permissible.
Option 1: Do Nothing
Violates Human Life
Violates Health
If Selena Gomez did nothing about the ethical issue following the show Thirteen Reasons Why s
release that would directly violate the values of human life and health. With suicidal teens having
continued access to Thirteen Reasons Why and it s triggering episodes, the risk for suicide would
continue to rise. Along with the risk of suicide, viewing this Netflix series can be poisonous to one s
mental health. Not only would the mental health of suicidal teens be at risk, but the mental health of
their parents, friends and family would be at risk as well.
Option 2: Remove Thirteen Reasons Why from Netflix
Violates Human Relationships
If Selena Gomez were to have Thirteen Reasons Why removed from Netflix she would violate the
relationships between her and the entire staff of the show. With the show being removed from Netflix
it would lose ratings which would affect the relationships of the fans and the cast of Thirteen Reasons
Why.
Option 4: Ban Thirteen Reasons Why Completely
Violates Human Relationships
If Selena Gomez banned Thirteen Reasons Why completely it would inevitably violate many human
relationships. The relationships between the cast if the show and their fans would diminish after the
show s elimination. Also, the relationships between the cast of the show and the producers and
anybody who would be financially affected by Selena Gomez s choice to demolish the show.
According to Aquinas natural law theory, the only options that are morally permissible are option
three which is to make a public service announcement, and option six which is to revise the show and
remove the graphic scenes which exhibit suicide and rape. Neither of these options

Firewall Attack Essay
In the world of computer and network security, there are myriad ways to launch an attack, which, from
the perspective of a network, can usually be defined as traffic that has vicious intent. There are infinite
computer attacks that no firewall can prevent, such as those executed locally on the machine by a
malicious user. From the network s perspective, there are numerous types of attack. Attacks can be
grouped into two types: brute force and precision. Juniper Firewall has the capability to protect against
both types of attack. Denial of Service (DoS) attacks are one of the most well known network security
threats under brute force attacks, which is largely due to the high profile way in which they can ...

We can use flows or sessions as a way to determine whether traffic attempting to traverse the firewall
is legitimate. We control the state checking components resident in Juniper Firewall by configuring
flow settings. These settings allow you to configure state checking for various conditions on the
device. You can use flow settings to protect against TCP hijacking, and to generally ensure that the fire
wall is performing full state processing when desired. We take a case study of attack on a network and

A number of malicious attacks which causes disruption to the processes has been increased due to an
increase in the tremendous expansion in the field of computer networks. The main aim of network
administrators is to provide continuous services to which they are intended to. Currently, the main aim
of researchers is to provide secure network whereas, little intervention has been given to the
quantification of network security which includes assessing of the vulnerability and malicious attacks

Research And Development Of Primary Energy
It is important to know if the targets above can actually be measured, [...] these targets must be
sufficiently ambitious to bring about meaningful change and their indicators must be robust and fit for
purpose . (Wykes, Stevens Singer (2015), Measuring what matters in the Energy SDG). In fact, several
indicators and measurement methods have been proposed by experts. Indeed, for the target 7.1, a
percentage of the worldwide electricity access and reliance on non solid fuels would be a good
indicator. The second target can be measured by evaluating renewable energies share in the total
energy consumption over a period of time. The third target requires a measurement that should
establish an annual comparison to estimate the improvements made. One method would be to measure
the energy intensity in terms of primary energy and GDP each year and therefore assess the possible
improvement. An example of indicator for the target 7.a would be to estimate the percentage of
national research development budget spent on renewables and energy efficiency research but it
wouldn t be enough to assign a number to the international cooperation that can be established. It
would be possible to count the number of cooperation but there is no way to have an indicator
measure their direct effect as a whole since they will include too many sectors and variables to take
into consideration. Finally, the last target, even though it s not as directly measured as others, can be
measured by the

The Theory Of Corporate Management
Summary: (Zahraa)
Corporate management has evolved over the years becoming a complicated process even to the most
refined managers. Classical management styles can no longer be relied upon to organize efficiently the
several factors that come into play in the modern business world.
Meijer Company is no exception and therefore specialized and thoroughly researched management
methods are required to solve the ever changing corporate world. Tools that guide critical thinking in
business management are thus essential for Meijer.
Combinations of SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunities, Threat) and PESTLE (Political,
Economic, Social, Technological, Legal, Environmental) analysis come in handy in the management
of Meijer Company. They were especially helpful with aligning project plans with the company vision
and mission and its core values of customer satisfaction, innovation, and teamwork.
Lewin s Force Field Analysis is important in countering opposition to change. It is also crucial in
effecting the necessary changes required in Meijer s management. The Porter s five macroeconomic

The Battle Of The Second Punic War
Carthage and the Roman Republic fought the second Punic War for control of the lands bordering the
Mediterranean Sea, considered the entire civilized world at the time. The battles of the second Punic
War show Hannibal Barca to be not only the greatest military leader of his age, but perhaps one of the
greatest generals of all time. By examining one of Hannibal s most spectacular victories, the paradigm
for a battle of annihilation, military professionals can learn how the Roman commanders might have
defeated Carthage s General. In conducting an analysis of the Battle of Cannae, I will postulate an
alternate outcome by introducing intelligence utilization that would have turned this battle into a
victory for Rome.
Battle Analysis
Definition of the Subject
From audacious gambits to canny tactics, leaders scrutinize Hannibal s legacy of strategy even now,
almost 2200 years after his death. Dwight D. Eisenhower wrote (1948) that, every ground commander
seeks the battle of annihilation; so far as conditions permit, he tries to duplicate in modern war the
classic example of Cannae. (p. 325) The Battle of Cannae is eponymous for the village of the same
name, part of Apulia in a region of southern Italy. The generals for the Roman forces were the consuls
Gaius Terentius Varro and Lucius Aemilius Paullus, while Hannibal and his brother Mago Barcid led
the armies of Carthage. On the morning of the August 2, 216 BC, the armies of Rome took the field, in

him in time and time again. Her face was beautifully fresh, free of any makeup or blemishes. He
preferred to see her this way, anyway. Her ratty soccer tee shirt hung off her bare shoulders,
concealing her plain black bikini top. The sun ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He bit into the last bite of his ice cream cone and turned his back to her. Walking toward the shore, he
expected her to follow him into the sand. Looking back, he realized she was still perched on the bench
he once accompanied her at. Ang...? he yelled from twenty yards ahead of her. She waved him on with
a swift motion of her hand grasping her half eaten cone. He trudged forward, frustrated with her
independence. As he reached their simple setup of two oversized beach towels on top of the scolding
sand, he heard her voice echoing off of the walls of the little shack that was passed off as an ice cream
parlor. Angela was thanking the man who had so pleasantly served them as she shoved a five dollar
bill into his empty tip jar. She lingered under the cheap awning, asking the middle aged man questions
as if they were old friends being reunited for the first time in a long time. How old is your daughter
now? she asked, followed by asking questions about his daughter s future plans, the man s pets, and
how he became interested in the ice cream industry as she called it. She caught Brennan looking back
at her and she began to gracefully jog towards the towels. Just as he expected her to stop, she threw
down her sunglasses and her oversized tee shirt. Giggling, she continued to glide past him as she
started towards the water. Oh my god Angela... he muttered under his breath. He could never

Criminalization Of Homelessness And Crime
navigating community living, which has resulted in a huge increase in the arrest rate of offenders with
mental illness, as well as increased rates of homelessness (Hartwell, 2004). Markowitz (2006)
contributes deinstitutionalization to increased homelessness, crime, and arrest rates. Additionally,
some studies suggest jails and prisons have replaced the psychiatric hospitals as a social control of the
mentally ill which is often referred to as, the criminalization of mental illness (Markowitz, 2006, p.
49).
Limited Affordable Housing A lack of affordable housing, as well as limited numbers of housing

Indigenous Australia s Criminal Justice System
While Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people (Indigenous Australians) represent only about 3%
of the total population of Australia, in 2013, they comprised over 27% of Australia s prison population
(an increase from 25% in 2009). In the same year, the incarceration rate for Indigenous Australian
prisoners was 15 times higher than the rate for their non Indigenous counterparts, an increase in the
ratio compared to 2011 (when it was 14 times higher) (ABS, 2013). It is evident from statistical data,
that there is a clear over representation of Indigenous Australians in Australia s criminal justice
system. The figures are even more startling for Indigenous youth, who are 25 times more likely to be
in detention than their non Indigenous ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While the cause of indigenous over representation in prison remains a complex and contentious issue,
it will not be the focus of this essay. Instead, this essay will assess programs and policies which have
been proposed as measures to limit or reduce Indigenous incarceration rates. In general, programs and
policies either aim to divert offenders from being imprisoned (diversion), reduce recidivism/ repeat
offending (rehabilitation) or prevent indigenous people from committing crime at all (early
intervention). This essay will discuss programs for indigenous adults but will direct significantly more
attention to juvenile offenders. It will be reasoned that programs, which target the underlying causes
of indigenous crime, have the greatest potential to reduce indigenous offending and re offending.
Restorative justice incorporates a number of programs which serve to primarily address the needs of
the victims, the offenders (who must admit to their offence) and the needs of the wider community,
rather than to simply enforce punishment or satisfy abstract legal principles (Daly Nancarrow, 2010).
Diversion schemes, a branch of restorative justice, include courses of action which prevent juvenile
offenders from entering or continuing in the criminal justice system. Diversion can occur at most

Parenthood Is Affordable, The United States Department Of...
Many men and women in America don t have insurance or simply cannot afford health care. Planned
Parenthood does have professional doctors who specialized in many reproductive health services.
Planned Parenthood is affordable, the program takes a patient whether they have insurance or not, not
only that, they charge you by how much income you make. Low income Americans have access to
these services too. The United States Department of Health, Education and Welfare, for example,
created a federal program to provide poor, married women with birth control. (Alan Guttmacher
Institute) One in five American women have used the group s services, and three out of four of its
patients are considered to have low incomes. (Lynn M. Zott) According ... Show more content on

Texas is one of the states that cut funds for Planned Parenthood. After Texas defunded the clinic, a
survey of 300 pregnant women who were seeking abortions in Texas said that they were unable to
access the birth control that they wanted to use in the three months before pregnancy. (Amanda J.
Stevenson).
According to the article, Political Attacks on Planned Parenthood Are a Threat to Women s Health for
some people, Planned Parenthood has come to symbolize abortion, which it has provided since 1970.
But in all the rhetoric, facts have sometimes gone missing. For example, Senator Jon Kyl of Arizona
declared on the floor of the Senate that abortion accounts for well over 90 percent of what Planned
Parenthood does. That figure is actually 3 percent. Planned Parenthood clinics perform one in four
abortions in the U.S. but use no federal funds for this practice. To some abortion opponents, that 3
percent is reason enough to gut the organization. If a future Congress and White House were to do so,
however, it would drive women once again into the back alleys, without necessarily decreasing the
number of abortions. Stripping Planned Parenthood of federal funding would also sacrifice the 97
percent of its public health work that has nothing to do with abortion, from which many people benefit
directly. One in five American women have used the group s services, and three out of four

Army Varsity Team Problem Identification: The problem identified in the HBR Case Study the Army Crew Team was Coach P s assumption that choosing the most physically fit rowers would yield a high performing team. Coach P. failed to understand how team dynamics, morale, and overall emotional intelligence of the team can inhibit team success. Alternative Analysis: Coach P. was baffled why the Varsity team performed poorly as opposed to the non Varsity team. While he put much thought with selecting the most physically fit team mates, he failed to understand the importance of recognizing and working through issues in relation to emotional intelligence. The Varsity group kept pointing the finger on others, failing to recognize and take accountability for their overall subpar performance. Rather than work through the negative team dynamics, they often emailed their complaints to the coach. An emotionally intelligent group would have worked through their issues together as a group. If someone is acting out of line, the team members must feel comfortable calling the foul. • 3. The Material Selection For Disc 3.1 Material Selection for Disc A turbine disc rotates at high angular velocity and operates at higher temperature. High angular velocity induces higher centrifugal stress and high temperature gradient induces higher thermal stress. This operating condition demands that material used for the turbine disc should have high strength even at elevated temperature. Specifically, the tensile yield strength should be high enough to withstand centrifugal stress developed by disc and axial loading by blades and the fatigue strength should be high enough to withstand high stress and low cycle fatigue. In addition to LCF concern, materials for modern turbine disc were driven by commercial constraints like lower component cost, life cycle and maintenance cost. Materials like wasploy, Cr Mo Vo alloys, A 286 alloys were used earlier but they have low yield and fatigue strength at higher temperature. Inorder to compensate these demands Ni based super alloys Udimet 720 and Inconel 718 are used. These alloys offer efficient compromise between performance and economics. The key properties of Ni based super alloys are: 1. They have high stiffness and tensile yield strength at higher temperature to ensure accurate blade location and resistance to over speed burst failure. 2. They are resistant to high temperature oxidation and hot corrosion attack. 3. They also have the ability to withstand fretting damage at mechanical fitting. 4. • 4. The Cuban National Hero Jose Marti, A Precursor Of Latin... Within this essay I am going to compare and contrast two rather different nationalist ideas that prevailed in Latin America during the nineteenth century. My concentration in this comparison is on how ethnicity and race are illustrated. The first nationalist thinker whose ideas I intent to discuss is the Cuban national hero José Martí, a precursor of Latin American modernism. I will contrast Martí s ideas and writings with the Peruvian journalist and political philosopher José Carlos Mariátegui, the representative and advocator of twentieth century Latin American Marxist ideas. There are some similarities between the offered social solutions between these authors: mainly their rejection of imported models of society and politics. However, within this essay I am arguing that the humanistic points of view between them have little in common. Whereas Martí promotes acceptance of all people and all races, and considers all people equal to each other, Mariátegui, despite claiming to be racially indifferent and accepting, in fact reveals racist and discriminating arguments that undermine his claimed acceptance and embracement of the different races of America. To support my argument, I will be offering relevant examples from both authors most famous publications, Martí s Nuestra América and Mi Raza , and Mariátegui s Siete ensayos de interpretación sobre la realidad peruana , and El problema de las razas en América Latina . Mariátegui s ideology is strongly tied to the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Throughout school one of my biggest motivations to not goof off in class and to behave my best in school is sports. By getting in trouble, I m taking myself out of the game and letting down my teammates. • 7. Misrepresentation Of The English Reformation Out of the many Protestant reform movements in the sixteenth century, the English Reformation is arguably the most multifaceted. With numerous individuals involved, and countless theological perspectives represented, it is tough to identify all the sides politically and relationally involved over the course of approximately a century of radical change. While many might contemplate that the simple goal of this movement was a corrupt king s desire for divorce which certainly was an underlying cause the formation of Anglicanism had many twists and turns on its journey to become what is believed by many to be the least radical and perhaps most stable compromise between observance of ancient tradition and Protestantism, which is now termed the via ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Proponents of this theory claim that the English Reformation was commenced by Henry for dynastic motives, was inflicted and coerced from above, and was predominantly a political tactic. As distorted as this revisionist interpretation is, the classical perspective is also inaccurate. A.G. Dickens and other advocates for this understanding summarize, The received view assumed that, in spite of some resistance, the Reformation agenda was welcomed with open arms by the nation as a whole. It was primarily a theological movement. The Church was ripe for Reformation: a surge of reforming ideas met with an enthusiastic reception in a populace deeply disillusioned with the corruption, superstition and obscurantism of the late medieval Church. A more balanced understanding of the circumstances leading up to, during, and following the English Reformation reveal that both perspectives are perhaps equally simplified as well as miscalculated. The full weight of Henry s impetuses as conceited as they might be undoubtedly carried categorical developments to the ecclesiology of the church in England, as well as its relationship to Rome and other nations, in a very conclusive and pronounced manner; this was no secret to those living in the sixteenth century, and is just as unequivocal today. However, the intricacies encompassed by the cast of characters involved in the tangible restructuring of both the temporal and spiritual foundations of England as a commonwealth during the Protestant Reformation are numerous and disorienting at best. The Reformation in England was not the uneventful, sustained intentness of a consistent plot, envisioned in the intellects of any one party. Instead, it was a multifaceted, accidental, convoluted succession of incidents. Christopher ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Properly articulated, a vision creates the enthusiasm that people have for sporting events and other leisure time activities, bringing this energy and commitment to the workplace. Though as kids most of us were led to believe that with enough effort and hard work were going to become whatever we wanted to be, we were going to have whatever our little hearts desired, and we were going to do whatever we wanted to do. However, as we grew up we realized that this is not the case. There are millions of people who did not become professional athletes, models, or billionaires, people who never got to have the mansions, cars, and fame that they always longed for, people who never got to travel the world, cure cancer, or fly into space. These are all mostly childlike dreams, which were probably imposed unto us by either our parents or society. There s nothing wrong with children having these sort of improbable dreams, however, there comes a time where we can no longer be children. In the story Tandolfo the Great, written by Richard Bausch, we are introduced to Rodney Wilbury aka Tandolfo the Great, who is a suitable example to demonstrate what life can be like for those who are unable to grow out of their childlike mind sets. In this analysis I will be inspecting how Tandolfo the Great s childish mind set, from his strong sense of entitlement to his inability to let go of the past events, has almost destroyed his life and how it can destroy anyone else s. During this period we see Hale s belief in the girl s story beginning to change as he begins to support Proctor. Hale s loss of control is also demonstrated in Act II through his lack of knowledge on the current situation. When Cheever stated that Elizabeth has been charged, Hale had no awareness of this accusation and has to ask Cheever When were she charged? unlike the beginning of the play when everyone asked Hale questions. Rebecca s charge also surprises Hale which once again proves that he is no longer in control of the situation like he was at the beginning. Hale further questions the actions of the court and the genuineness of the accusations here as he cannot believe that such supposedly innocent and holy people are being accused. Hale s actions are very indefinite and he speaks in great uncertainty which reflects his loss of control and completely contrasts the manner in which he spoke towards the beginning of the play. When it comes to the issue of education, many people from educators to students to parents to administrators to politicians have different ideas as to what makes for the best education. According to Samantha Moore, in her evaluation essay titled There s no place like home, she argues that homeschooling provides a better educational experience for students over the public school system. Specifically she states that evaluating homeschooling through aesthetic, moral, and practical criteria favors homeschooling over public school (Moore, 2017, p. 2). In other words, she expresses that homeschooling is better morally, is cheaper and more convenient, and is safer. While I agree that for some students faced with certain situations, homeschooling is the better option, I disagree with Moore s overall claim that homeschooling is the best option for students over public education. By examining the examples from her evaluation essay in a different way, it will become clear that the American public school system is actually the best option when it comes to students education. • 26. Analysis Of A Room With A View By E. M. Forster In A Room with a View, author E.M. Forster contrasts Florence, Italy and Surrey, England in an attempt to reveal the interests and desires of Lucy Honeychurch, the main character. Forster does this through showing differences between what each country represents, Lucy s suitors, and the expectations of men and women in each location. The differences between the countries show how the life Lucy wants to live and the life she is expected to live differ, and how these differences ultimately contribute to the meaning of the work. Each country in the novel represents a conflict in Lucy s life. While in Italy, Lucy is given the freedom to roam and explore as she pleases. On page 30 it states, I think I shall go out, said Lucy. I want to go ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Cecil, on the other hand, believes women are the lesser sex and wants to offer Lucy less independence because of it. So ran her thoughts, while her faculties were busy with Cecil...When he was cross he was always elaborate, and made long, clever answers where Yes or No would have done, as stated on page 109. This passage shows Cecil s unnecessary pretentiousness, and it reveals that Lucy not only notices his attitude, she finds it distasteful. George, on the other hand, is proven to be joyous and free. This can be shown on page 105, He smiled, flung himself at them, splashed them, ducked them, kicked them, muddied them, and drove them out of the pool. The actions listed describe George s behavior in the pond. He is out there simply enjoying life, and that is the personality Lucy finds herself wanting. That is the kind of personality that matches Italy, as it fosters independence and joy. This contradicts England and Cecil, both of which foster pretentious behavior and a stuffy environment. Once Part II of the novel is reached, the book transitions from Italy to England. The attitude and atmosphere shifts, but so do expectations of women. On page 96 it states, At last she longed for attention, as a woman should, and looked up to him because he is a man. This sentence is referring to Lucy and Cecil. Although there is little time the child has to spend with the family, it has been made very clear that the child s house keeping responsibilities show the true love for her family. The daughter has no way of expressing love to her family so the only way she can convey her emotion is through ironing her family s clothing. Alvarez conveys life to the apparel of her family and additionally to the task itself of tending to those garments. She portrays the ragged pieces of clothing of her dad to be a representation of man himself. Worn out by all the work, his garments show the same ideals. The errands her mom does, the washing, ... • 29. Pros And Cons Of Natural Law Theory Natural Law Thomas Aquinas produced the natural law theory with the believe that all human choices should be an attempt to avoid evil. When considering the option actions, one must evaluate each option to ensure they do not violate any of the six universal human values. The six universal human values include human life, health, procreation, welfare of children, knowledge, and human relationships. If an optional action directly violates any one of these values then it is not morally permissible. Option 1: Do Nothing Violates Human Life Violates Health If Selena Gomez did nothing about the ethical issue following the show Thirteen Reasons Why s release that would directly violate the values of human life and health. With suicidal teens having continued access to Thirteen Reasons Why and it s triggering episodes, the risk for suicide would continue to rise. Along with the risk of suicide, viewing this Netflix series can be poisonous to one s mental health. Not only would the mental health of suicidal teens be at risk, but the mental health of their parents, friends and family would be at risk as well. Option 2: Remove Thirteen Reasons Why from Netflix Violates Human Relationships If Selena Gomez were to have Thirteen Reasons Why removed from Netflix she would violate the relationships between her and the entire staff of the show. With the show being removed from Netflix it would lose ratings which would affect the relationships of the fans and the cast of Thirteen Reasons Why. Option 4: Ban Thirteen Reasons Why Completely Violates Human Relationships If Selena Gomez banned Thirteen Reasons Why completely it would inevitably violate many human relationships. The relationships between the cast if the show and their fans would diminish after the show s elimination. Also, the relationships between the cast of the show and the producers and anybody who would be financially affected by Selena Gomez s choice to demolish the show. According to Aquinas natural law theory, the only options that are morally permissible are option three which is to make a public service announcement, and option six which is to revise the show and remove the graphic scenes which exhibit suicide and rape. Neither of these options ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Research And Development Of Primary Energy It is important to know if the targets above can actually be measured, [...] these targets must be sufficiently ambitious to bring about meaningful change and their indicators must be robust and fit for purpose . (Wykes, Stevens Singer (2015), Measuring what matters in the Energy SDG). In fact, several indicators and measurement methods have been proposed by experts. Indeed, for the target 7.1, a percentage of the worldwide electricity access and reliance on non solid fuels would be a good indicator. The second target can be measured by evaluating renewable energies share in the total energy consumption over a period of time. The third target requires a measurement that should establish an annual comparison to estimate the improvements made. One method would be to measure the energy intensity in terms of primary energy and GDP each year and therefore assess the possible improvement. An example of indicator for the target 7.a would be to estimate the percentage of national research development budget spent on renewables and energy efficiency research but it wouldn t be enough to assign a number to the international cooperation that can be established. It would be possible to count the number of cooperation but there is no way to have an indicator measure their direct effect as a whole since they will include too many sectors and variables to take into consideration. Finally, the last target, even though it s not as directly measured as others, can be measured by the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Battle Of The Second Punic War Carthage and the Roman Republic fought the second Punic War for control of the lands bordering the Mediterranean Sea, considered the entire civilized world at the time. The battles of the second Punic War show Hannibal Barca to be not only the greatest military leader of his age, but perhaps one of the greatest generals of all time. By examining one of Hannibal s most spectacular victories, the paradigm for a battle of annihilation, military professionals can learn how the Roman commanders might have defeated Carthage s General. In conducting an analysis of the Battle of Cannae, I will postulate an alternate outcome by introducing intelligence utilization that would have turned this battle into a victory for Rome.
