Evaluate The Effectiveness Of Ww1 Trenches
Of the numerous strategies used throughout World War 1 and 2 those in WW2 proved more effective
due to the standstill trench warfare brought, the ease with which trenches were defeated by tanks later
in the war, and the speed and efficiency widespread mechanized warfare and blitzkrieg gave to armies
in WW2.
In throughout WW1, trenches were used quite liberally along the front lines. As a strategy to prevent
advancement of the enemy s front lines trenches proved effective, however due to its widespread use
by both sides it prevented nearly any progression in the war for periods of time. The stagnation it
caused is a major reason why widespread use of the tactic was ineffectual. Dues to the long periods
troops stayed in trenches, which were quite unsanitary and muddy soldiers often contracted infectious
diseases or gangrene, pushing this tactic further into the reaches of inferior due to the harm it could
cause one s own troops. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Tanks allowed a force to advance towards an enemy s lines with the protection of the armor and
playing a part in rendering trenches obsolete. The further advancement of tank technology following
WW1 cemented trench warfare s ineffectuality and obsolescence, as the vast majority of tank s flaws
were greatly improved.
The invention, improvement, and proliferation of tanks not only rendered numerous WW1 strategies
completely obsolete but gave rise to mechanized warfare. Mechanized warfare in its various forms
proved quite effective One specific type such as the highly mechanized blitzkrieg, allowed the Nazis
to very quickly and effectively overwhelm the defenses of nations during invasions prior to and early
in the Second World War. Besides Blitzkrieg, mechanized warfare in general, allowed battles to reach
a decisive conclusion quickly, meaning battles were often far shorter than in

Creative Talent And Risk Of Pixar
Former CTO and current President of Pixar, Edwin Catmull, describes in his article How Pixar Fosters
Collective Creativity of 2008 the numerous aspects used at the pioneer of computer animation for
structuring and operating a creative organization. He bases his outline on the key assumption that
finding and supporting smart people is much more important to Pixar than good individual ideas
(Catmull, 2008). The principles and practices for managing creative talent and risk are proven
successful and were transferred to the revived Disney Animation Studio after the merger in 2006.
Pixar sees its creativity supporting structure as a competitive advantage based on the fact that all nine
released films were huge commercial successes and scored with critics (Catmull, 2008). Additionally,
Pixar never hat to buy scripts or movie ideas from external sources. After the article was written, Pixar
released fived more films. All of them were again commercial successes, but critics consistently
received Cars 2 of 2011 as Pixar s First Bad Movie (Tyler, 2011). After 2008 and after the adaption of
Pixar s organizational structure Disney Animation Studios released seven new films, they showed an
enormous increase in critical ratings and an overall decent financial success (Kays, 2013).
After the bad reviews of Cars 2 and criticism about Pixar recently focusing too much on established
franchises, Catmull announced that the studio plans to significantly scale back its production of
sequels

The Epic of Gilgamesh
What Meets The Eye
In today s day and age, literature and media have ample effect on how our society influences
individuals. Women are perceived as sexual objects, but have the ability to persuade and influence the
male character in literature. The Epic of Gilgamesh portrays the significance ancient Mesopotamian
Literature has made on the social image that women possess pertaining to sexuality and appearances
to the public eye in modern culture. In Gilgamesh, the harlot Shamhat held a reputation proving that
women are only represented in one way. To support this argument, many aspects such as defining the
Male Gaze, heroism, and how women influence the main character, all prove how poorly women are
portrayed in literature and furthermore in modern media and culture. The Epic of Gilgamesh focuses
mainly on the two male protagonists Enkidu and Gilgamesh. Shamhat was later introduced into the
story as a temple prostitute that had the reputation of taming wild beasts (Martin 103). She
domesticates Enkidu into the ways of humankind using seduction, but as the story continues, it shows
how truly important Shamhat s position is in the epic. Shamhat, in her role, is a generous force that
brings knowledge and progress to a strong hero preparing him for the many tribulations ahead. One of
the aspects we fail to recognize in Mesopotamian literature, let alone all literature of the world, is the
heroic roles of women. In Women in the African Epic, Joseph L. Mbele states,

Stereotypes In The Film Smoke Signals
The film does not rely on any other source other than the Inuk people, and this is why this film has
become important to First Peoples media, because of the film s dedication to authenticity, revitalizing
interest in long standing traditions. With Smoke Signals , Survivance is demonstrated differently than
in Atanarjuat. In Smoke Signals , it was evident that Victor was influenced by stereotypes of Native
Americans that were present in the United States. For example there is the bus scene where Victor and
Thomas traveled to retrieve the ashes of Victor s father in Arizona, in that scene Victor told Thomas
that he did have the image of a Native American. To Victor, a stoic and warrior like image garnered
respect and fear from others. As the film progressed Victor transform as a character both in how he
lived as an individual and how he saw his Coeur d Alene Heritage. The catalyst for Victor s change of
mind was Thomas. Throughout the film, Thomas acted as a shaman, telling stories about the Coeur d
Alene and the people of the reservation. Thomas shaman like character was a way to remind Victor
that he could never let go of his heritage. The interaction between Thomas and Victor is a
representation of the film as a whole and its message. The Survivance that was present in the film was
directed at every population of First Peoples. Smoke Signals extends its reach to a vast audience and
that was its goal as a film, unlike Atanarjuat s focus on the Inuk people. By

Comparing and Contrast the Chemical Disasters at Bhopal in...
In today s modern society, as many countries have been developing very fast, the technologies are
reaching high standards of level, for example, the high qualities weed killers and the liquid cleaner.
However, as the big invention occurring, the more and more mistakes will be going on, because some
technologies, such as weed killer and liquid cleaners are chemicals. With no doubt, chemicals are
really harmful for human beings. As people all know that, toxic chemicals are used in the industries,
which have to be safely covered and provide very serious use instruction, such as wearing long gloves,
safety shoes or masks. However, even the chemicals are under several instructions, but people may

Death is considered a short term effect. David (2002) believes they were roughly 7000 death cases at

out that people exposed to the released gas had some other short effects such as cough, vomiting and

The Current State of the U.S. Economy Essay
The Current State of the U.S. Economy
The United States economy is racing ahead at dangerous speeds, and it may be too late to prevent the
return of widespread inflation. Ideally the economy should move ahead gradually and grow at a steady
manageable rate. Mae West once stated Too much of a good thing can be wonderful and it seems the
U.S. Treasury Secretary agrees. The Secretary announced that due to our increasing surplus and
booming economy, instead of having an outsized tax cut, we should use the surplus to further pay
down the national debt. A tax cut, though most Americans would favor it initially, would prove
counter productive. Cutting taxes would over stimulate an already raging economy, and enhance the
possibilities of an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The federal reserve has raised interest rates five times in less then twelve months, and the pervious
raises are just barely beginning to take effect. The previous raises averaged around a quarter
percentage point, and since these raises failed to slow the economy, Greenspan, unable to take
anymore chances doubled the previous with a promise of more to come. The interest rates are
expected to reach 7.0% by June, the most severally effected by these constant raises are shareholders.
Because of these immediate effects market economists are largely against the interest rate hikes. Their
position is that the average inflation rate over the past three years has been at around 2% close to the
markets expected inflation rate of 1.9%. The economy is on a sixteen year run, continually moving
forward. The historical data is there however; the consumer price index was at 1.6% over the past
twelve months and the March year over year rate was at 3.7% The market economists do not stop
there due to the vast improvements in productivity, largely due to increased technology and the
internet, some market economists argue that Greenspan should leave the economy as is. Ideally the
growth rate of the economy should be set by the growth rate of the labor force and productivity, and if
the two were similar, inflation would not be a factor. The economy

The Expense of Owning a Horse
Horses are expensive animals to have around and knowing exactly how expensive before you rush out
and buy one is imperative. Usually the cheaper part of getting a horse is the actual purchase price.
Horses can cost anywhere between a few hundred to thousands of pounds depending on the type and
breed of the horse, the age, who is selling the horse and why, how much training he s had and how
experienced he is. Buying a horse from a private seller Buying from a private seller rather than a
trainer, breeder or dealer can be a way to get a good deal and save money. Private sellers often
advertise in newspapers, on bulletin boards of tack stores or on buy and sell websites. If you re
inexperienced with horses be sure to bring along someone you trust when seeing a horse. An
experienced horseperson will be able to tell if the animal is good for you and whether or not it seems
to have any behavioural problems. If your expert feels the horse is sound and good for you, then a vet
will determine if the animal is health and suitable for what you want to use it for. Some of the better
reasons private owners sell their horses are a change in finances resulting in the horse being too
expensive to keep, moving and not being able to take the horse with them, wanting to replace a
beginner s horse with a seasoned show animal, children moving out of the house and leaving no one to
ride the horse or just generally losing interest in the hobby. Unfortunately people also sell horses for

Dueling for Dollars Review
In the world of online casino play, there is a small selection of names that command more attention
than others, with Galaxy Gaming certainly standing tall as one of them. Starting life all the way back
in 2006, for over a decade they have been known as a name that players can count on. Helping push
Galaxy Gaming to the very next level in the eyes of many are its efforts in the instant play market. The

Speed runs absolutely rampant here, as it lives up to its ultimate no brainer tag, with play handled in
just a single click. What this game represents as the name implies is a form a high card battle. So, it s
one deck, two cards, and a true test of bottle, with players battling the dealer in order to win big. We
love games that just get to the point, with Duelling for Dollars doing that in a rather spectacular
fashion.
Duelling for Dollars is incredibly fun to play, but it does carry a few issues when it comes to payouts,
as this game just isn t as stacked as other Galaxy Gaming titles. Most of the payouts in this game are
token offerings at best, ranging between $20 and just a $1. Free Duelling for Dollars is a really fun
game, but when it comes to prizes it s a case of little and often.
From Single Card to a Super Win!
Honestly, anyone of any skill level should be able to play free Duelling for Dollars with minimal fuss.
Things kick off when you decide on your wager, then you just need to update any side bets you wish
to invoke before officially starting the game. After doing the aforementioned, you ll be dealt a single
card (so will the dealer), with the highest card of the two winning the game round. This game really is
just that simple when it comes to understanding how to play.

Adaptations Are Broken Into Three Types Of Adaptations
INTRODUCTION
Adaptations are broken into three types of Adaptations. Structural, Physiological and Behavioural,
these types of adaptations differ from one another changing a different aspect of the organism.
Structural Adaptations are the change in appearance based on the organism s environment.
Physiological Adaptations are the organisms body chemistry, metabolism, and reproductive attributes.
Behavior Adaptations are the way in which an organism acts.
THE RED KANGAROO
The kangaroos ability to hop is a structural adaptation. The kangaroo s leg muscles spring when the
kangaroo makes impact with the ground. This transfer from elastic potential energy to kinetic energy
saves the kangaroo from using unnecessary energy to cover large distances. (As seen in figure 1)
The female kangaroo s efficient breeding cycle also assists them in surviving the harsh environment.
They have the ability, when pregnant, to put the growth of the embryo on hold until external
conditions improve. This increases the chances of the young surviving. In times of drought, many
kangaroos will die but when conditions are good female kangaroos can have three young ones with
them at the same time: one as an embryo (not yet born), one in the pouch attached to a teat and one
outside the pouch but still drinking the mother s milk. This extreme breeding cycle is a huge
physiological adaptation that has allowed the kangaroo to reproduce.
A physiological adaptations of the red kangaroos is that they

Medieval Feudalism Essay
As children, we grew up with a picture of the medieval European society to be a fairy tale, where
everyone had wonderful lives. As it is also stated in the book about how Disney interpretations ignores
the level of oppression under feudalism. In the medieval times the social and economic system ran
based on the European feudalism, which caused various problems for majority of the population. The
Europeans feudalism consisted of 90 percent of their population being peasant, then 5 percent being
knights, the other 5 percent being the nobles and royalty. This was the structure of the medieval
feudalism and what might have led to the Europe to colonization.

Feudal lords got ⅔ of the production, and the serfs got ½; so, they were completely impoverished
(Cottin,29). This demonstrate how little the lower class got even though they were majority of the
population and did all labor. The lords of the manors even had power to do what they wish, since they
had the law at their feet. An example as stated, The brutal system includes a law called Rite de
seigneur, which mandated that the feudal lord could be the first to sleep with the bride of his serf on
her wedding night (Cottin,30). The nobles were very greedy and wanted more wealth for themselves
so in Britain, they passed the Enclosure Acts. In which the nobles used it to get rid of the commoners
and use it as a private property to produce more wealth. Which they did by using the land to raise
sheep to get wools. As stated Wool became the backbone and driving force of the medieval English

described as the jewel in the realm (Cottin,31). This destroyed the Noblesse Oblige, which provide

Alcohol As AAlcoholic Beverage
Alcoholic drinks play a crucial social role in most cultures. An alcoholic beverage is a drink which
contains a significant amount of the psychoactive drug ethanol which is informally called alcohol.
[Wikipedia] Most countries implement laws regulating alcoholic drinks production, sale and
consumption because of their potential for abuse which may cause physical dependence and increase
their risk of alcohol related harm. [1] [ Minimum Age Limits Worldwide . International Center for
Alcohol Policies. Retrieved 2009 09 20.] In Australian society, alcohol has many roles. Many
Australians take alcohol mostly for relaxation, enjoyment and for social reasons, and generally they
consume alcohol at levels that cause few adverse effects. However, a significant proportion of
Australians take alcohol at levels that cause adverse effects. In many countries, Australia inclusive,
disease, injury and a considerable burden of death is attributed to alcohol. Families and the broader
community are also affected by alcohol related harm. Some other reasons for taking alcohol include to
enhance creativity, to overcome inhibitions, boredom, habit. (2) [www.nhmrc.gov.au/health

Compare And Contrast Caged Bird And Sympathy
In the poem, Caged Bird , by Maya Angelou, and the poem Sympathy by Paul Laurence Dunbar, the
authors exemplify feelings of those being discriminated against in the actions and feelings of the birds.
The poets make contrasting and comparable stories, that relate in many ways and also contrast in
hidden but most important ways as well. The birds in the poems add morals and meaning by being so
alike and yet so different. The two authors description of the bird resemble one another. In the Caged
Bird , Maya Angelou discusses the state in which the Caged Bird is in. His wings are clipped and his
feet are tied (Angelou, 12,13). The Cage Bird in the is in pain and restrained from the freedom he
longs for. In Sympathy , Dunbar describes the Caged Bird in a very similar state. When his wings is
bruised and his bosom sore (Dunbar, 16). The bruising of the bird symbolizes physical restrainment,
but not mental. In both of the author s writing, Caged Bird is described in very similar manners; This

Analysis Of Lois Lowry s The Giver
Newberry Medalist, Lois Lowry, reflects her fascination with the stages of life into her many novels
that depict young adults coping with the challenges that come with growing up. And like many
recognized authors Lowry has been asked again and again, Where did you get this idea? For each
novel written by Lowry the inspiration arises from diverse occasions from her life. In The Giver
Lowry explores the new territory of a fantasy realm of society that is free from pain, disorder, and
overpopulation; but in a world without love, color, and memories the perfect society turns to dystopia.
(Novels for Students) As an explanation for the origins of The Giver Lois Lowry, in her Newberry
Medal acceptance speech, compares her inspiration for the novel to the river Jonas looks into, seeing
the world differently for the first time. Her ideas started as a mere spring, trickling in from a glacier;
and each of the tributaries came from memories, coming together to make the flowing current of the
river. (Lowry) The river of inspiration began with a distant memory of Lowry s childhood, living in
Tokyo in the close confines of an American army base. Within a foreign country she lived in a
community with American neighbors, an American movie theater, church, schoolhouse, and
everything that made them feel more at home. (Berger) Lowry s curiosity as a child dared her to

Persuasive Essay On Plastic Tax
Adding a 25 cent charge towards plastic bags would be a mistake. I am against the idea that our state
should consider the idea of adding the charge because it could lead to other issues. I believe that we
don t have to pay for the bags now, so what difference does it make if we decide to add the tax?
Adding the tax will cause issues for those who use plastic bags, cause paper bags to become more
popular, and cause a high demand in reusable bags. A bag tax that could assist in the affair, but isn t
necessary and should not be added. I don t believe that the tax on plastic bags can solve the issues that
are caused by people who are careless. Punishing those who use plastic bags isn t fair when they might
not even be the ones who are causing the controversy. Adding a bag tax is not going to help us in any
way.
Adding the 25 cent charge bag tax would be a mistake because it will cause issues for people who use
plastic bags. I understand that adding the tax will allow people to realize that plastic bags have
become an issue for our environment. But adding the tax to those who use plastic isn t fair when they
would rather have plastic to use around the house instead of having to worry about paper bags or
remembering to bring along with them reusable bags to the store. I don t find it fair to only tax those
who wish to use plastic bags. Industires who produce plastic bags can make them very efficiently, as
they are produced on a daily schedule. As they are easier to produce, they

Junk Low Proteins
Proteins are either complete or incomplete. Those that are complete contain all the essential amino
acids, and dairy products fall into this category. Protein itself is a key macronutrient that helps repair
the tissues and cells in the human body. All dairy products contain protein, but some are higher than
others. The daily recommendation for protein intake is 0.8g per kilogram of body weight. Make this

An Article An Officer And A Muslim Zionist
Sebastyne Young has said, A picture can tell a thousand words, but a few words can change its story
(Young). In 2012 Ala Wahib posed for what he thought would be an ordinary picture however the
image became extraordinary due to its inclusion in an article titled An officer and a Muslim Zionist . It
is important that at first glance it is not clear that the officer is a Muslim because it counters a
stereotype that all Muslims look alike or that Muslims are at war with Jews. In the article Wahib is
asked about how he feels about being the highest ranking Muslim officer in the Israeli army and a
Zionist. The illustration of a Muslim soldier in the IDF is a great example of how images can have
varying interpretations based on ones perspective. There is a problem in the modern world with the
way we look and understand images having to do with Islam. Efforts taken by the media to share
images which creates a positive perspective on Islam, are rare. Instead images that cause the public to
connect Muslims to terror and radicalism are common because the media utilizes punctum s such as,
an image of a young victim of a terror attack, to tap into ones emotions, gaining the public s attention.
the reason why the media cares about increasing their audience is because the world revolves around
money and unfortunately the world has become so used to opening up the newspaper in the morning
and seeing negative images, that positive images don t appeal to media moguls. An important

Nigeria And Angol African Countries Plagued By The...
Nigeria and Angola are both West African countries plagued by the resource curse. The countries are
teeming with oil, ranking Nigeria as Africa s largest oil producer and Angola as the second largest oil
producer. In 2014, it was reported that Nigeria was responsible for producing 2.4 million barrels of oil
per day and Angola produced 1.8 million barrels of oil per day. While these numbers have fluctuated
greatly in the past, both countries still remain at the top as Africa s oil producers (Carpenter; Ajayi).

however, it has also come along with a number of complications. As Ajayi writes, fuel abundance in

Neither country has strong state institutions so political progress and economic development become
difficult. A lack of state institutions lowers the standard of living and impedes civil rights. Corruption
is also a symptom of missing institutions (McMillan 156). Corruption is a major obstacle in Nigeria
and Angola which is influenced by oil money. In both cases there is a bloc of corrupt powerful elites ...
while a large percentage of the population [continues] to live below poverty lines (Ajayi 1). The
money that is generated from oil falls into the hands of elites which directly impacts the country s
ability to democratize. In Nigeria, oil revenues have been the primary lubricant in making democracy
work (O Neil, Fields, and Share 760). Politicians have rigged elections by promising money and
positions of power to citizens to guarantee votes. This is problematic because Nigerians are not having
their voices heard. They are being bribed with money and power to vote for a politician, which is
enticing in a country where the citizens live below the poverty line. This not only hinders democracy,
but is a breeding ground for violence (O Neil, Fields, and Share). In Angola, the government aims to
keep corruption and other abuses of power a secret from Angolans. The state owns most newspapers
and the only television station, so they tend to show government propaganda in favor of the state only.

Alopecia Disease
Abstracts
During my research on alopecia I examined journals, articles and web sources in order to receive a
better understanding of the disease, and the problems afflicted people have. To foster a greater
understanding of the illness I researched general information on the disease. Most importantly, the
problems people with alopecia face. After analysing these sources I came to the conclusion that the
most impactful effect of the disease on affected people is the psychological toll it causes. As a result, I
decided that a solution to this problem is to change society s views on hair loss.

American Attitudes Toward Homelessness
Over the past 15 years, homelessness has been one of the more noticeable social problems in the
United States, but . With tens of thousands of homeless on the streets or in temporary housing
situations on any given night and no near term end in sight, finding ways to best support the homeless
becomes paramount to the well being of the homeless (Zaff, 2010). Although there are some
suggestions that American attitudes toward homelessness have hardened over time, there have not
been adequate experiments to back up this claim. According to (Daves Kingree, 1997) older people
hold less stigmatizing attitudes when it came to homeless people. When it came to college students
however, the findings were quite different. (Ostrow, 1995) states that as for students, self
consciousness dissipates as they become engaged more spontaneously within interaction. In everyday

In one study, college students were required to visit homeless shelters and they expressed their range
of feelings. The majority of students did not hesitate to talk about the flaws of the homeless person
such as their physical appearance. Not only did the students comment about the appearance of the
homeless people, but their situation as well. As one student states, The homeless are people who are
too lazy to work. They look very scummy to and are a danger to me. I have to watch it when I go to
that shelter. I can t wear jewelry or anything of value because they may take it (Ostrow, 1995). It is
evident that when these mostly white, middle and upper middle class students anticipated visiting a
shelter for homeless people, they began to worry.

How Did Edgar Allan Poe Impact On Poetry
Edgar Allan Poe
Edgar Allan Poe began his career as a poet, and collected or corrected poems throughout his career. A
quality of enjoyable sounds can be found in poems that readers also consider serious. However, these
elements can also exist with themes that are more typical of the Romantic Movement, such as dreams
and nightmares Poe handled this through images designed to show undecided states of awareness
represented as lakes, seas, waves, and vapors.
Nearly all Poe s criticism on poetry was written for the magazines for which he worked. Although the
pieces were published occasionally, they reflect a remarkably logical, self conscious view of poetry
and of the creative process. Poe wrote quot; The Philosophy of Composition quot; to ... Show more

Although it has exaggerated effects and flaws, quot; The Raven quot; which was written in 1845 is Poe
s best known poem and one of the most famous works in American literature. It treats his favorite
theme, the death of a beautiful woman. This theme also appears in quot; The Sleeper quot; written in
1841 and quot;Ulalume quot; written in 1847. In all three poems, Poe chose detailed musical effects.
Poe believed his art should be looked at internationally, rather than nationally or regionally. He was
usually known at the time with the South. He did not defend his region s politics or social customs,
like other southern writers. His lyricism was common to southern poets. Raised in Virginia, Poe
sometimes was looked at as the southern gentleman, even if they see excelling regionalism in his
work.
Among Poe s poetic output, about a dozen poems are remarkable for their perfect literary construction
and for their haunting themes and sections. In The Raven, which was written in 1845, the narrator is
weighed down by depressions of death. Poe s unexpected handling of rhythm and sound is particularly
shown in The Bells which was written in 1849 which was a poem that seems to repeat with the ringing
of sharp instruments, and The Sleeper which was written in 1831, which copies the state of
drowsiness. Lenore, which was written in 1831, and Annabel Lee, which was written in 1849, are
verse expressions of the death of a beautiful

Juniper Research estimates the agricultural sector will account for 48 percent of all commercial drones
sales in 2016 (Murphy, dr. Christina Mercer Margi.). If a farmer has animals or crops in a field he will
need to monitor the area for predators, and have less time for other things. Well now with the help of
drones he doesn t always need to be there and will have more time to do other things. The farmers can
use drones to check off their crops or animals which would make the farmer s life a lot easier. Another
great use for drones is in prisons. Drones can be used for prison security. The drones can watch over
the inmates when they are in the yard and other locations, so they can make sure no one is being bad.
Many campuses have cheap budgets and they need to pay for security. Campuses can use drones to
have a 24⁄7. With drones they can fly around the campuses at night and watch everything going on and
make campus feel a lot safer. Who wouldn t want to feel safe at campuses or who doesn t want to

Organizational culture
Organization culture comprises the deep, basic assumptions and beliefs, as well as the shared values
that define organization membership, as well as the member s habitual ways of making decisions, and
presenting themselves, and their organization to those who come in contact with it.
Clegg, Kornberger and Pitsis, 2008
The dictionary definition of a culture is the ideas, customs, and social behaviour of a particular group
of people or a society . An organisation is made up of individuals and the culture of an organization
defines how things are done in an organisation and what behaviour and actions are considered as
acceptable or not acceptable. Hofstede defines culture as the collective programming of the mind that

Thus the culture of an organisation has an influence and to an extent acts as a driver for everyone who
forms a part of an organisation whether it is at an individual level or a group level. This view is
supported by Harrison and Stokes when they say that
Culture impacts most aspects of organizational life, such as how decisions are made, who makes them,
how rewards are distributed, who is promoted, how people are treated, how the organization responds
to its environment, and so on (9)
In fact, these assumptions, beliefs, norms and values which are shared by the organisation s members
that can significantly affect strategy formulation and implementation. (10)
Organisational cultural is in every sense just that, a culture. So not only does it act as an internal
binding force which keeps the organisation together and in harmony, but it also defines how an
individual should present himself and his organisation when he represents it. For example Price
Waterhouse Coopers takes pride in the ever increasing diversity of its workforce and works to instil
the idea of flexible but diligent working. This ideology could be considered as values forming part of
PWC s organisational culture. So whenever an employee comes in touch with a client these values
will be automatically be reflected in

Georg Phillip Telemann Essay
On March 14, 1681 Georg Phillip Telemann was born in Magdeburg, Germany. Georg is mainly self
taught, his family does not have musical background at all. The few exceptions to this are at the age of
ten when he received singing lessons and 2 weeks of keyboard lessons. At the age of twelve without
further lessons he can play three instruments and has composed an opera. ( Telemann, Georg Phillip. )
Through self teaching he learned how to play the violin, recorder, oboe, viola da gamba, chalumeau,
and clavier. His family was not happy with his fondness for music they did not believe that it would
make for a good occupation. ( Georg Philipp Telemann. ) Despite his clear musical talent, in 1701 he
went to the University of Leipzig as a law student. While there he became focused on the musical
aspects of his life. The municipal authorities soon would realize what great skills Telemann possessed,

Planned Parenthoods
October 20th, 2015 the U.S House voted to end taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood due to their
harvesting of body parts of aborted babies and fetal tissue, among other parts for scientific research
and selling to third party companies to distribute. The companies they sold to used the parts as they
wished for research and supposedly for ingredients in cosmetic wear. Center for Medical Progress, an
anti abortion group, released the videos of them secretly meeting with director of Texas Planned
Parenthoods who teaches the methods for abortions for the state, whom explained that they perform
abortions to gather intact fetal specimens. Many types of people claim that such an issue is so morally

professor of University of Wisconsin Madison s law, medicine and public health, explains that it
makes sense that money is involved in the procurement of tissue and organs, even if that involves fetal

practice, she says. There is good reason for it. We want to help the people who are living or may be

The National Institutes of Health Revitalization Act even allows for reasonable payments associated
with transportation, implantation, processing, preservation, quality control, or storage of human fetal

Planned Parenthood facilities and any abortion provider don t have control over how fetal tissue is
ultimately used and many women (patients) are uninformed of the possibilities of how their donation
is used in the consent forms. Research to develop skin cosmetics and anti aging products has also
benefitted from the collecting of fetal tissue (non medical) and there isn t a standing law that prevents

Cant Stop Won T Stop Sociology
I believe that Can t Stop, Won t Stop, Wild Style, Egyptian Lover, Finding the funk, and Breakin n
Enterin speak to each other in helping narrate hip hop s origin mythologies. Each of these represent
different sectors of the black community and how it all intertwines. Breaking down each element it
will be easy to see how each goes hand in hand with each other.
Can t Stop, Won t Stop is an element that gives a lot of information from different areas. This provides
a highlight on some of the most important people of the time, Fab Five Freddy. The background is
shown to be described with a Jamaican element. Gangs of the Bronx had their own contribution. This
was the beginnings of DJ Kool Herc and brought up street parties. Graffiti became popular in 1965
which made a connection to hip. Hip Hop was seen as a part of the culture. ... Show more content on

example there was graffiti in the background. It was easy to see the different factors that are brought

definitely brought out a different element out of the other four sectors. The reasoning of the name
Egyptian Lover was to show and let women know he was a lover and not a fighter. Hip Hop was seen
as an aggressive genre where people viewed it as being very violent. You are able to see how he
interacted with the music to create a song. He was able to bring out Cold Crush Brothers, the Zulu
Nation.
Finding the funk outlined how funk influenced hip hop in a very immediate way. Funk was an element
that was highlighted within hip hop. Many people argued that funk was the beginning of hip hop.
James Brown helped to promote black music in general and he was known as the King of Funk. Hip

Fight The Fees Movement Analysis
The various demands mentioned above by the Fight the Fees movement have been supported with
multiple arguments that have been explicitly mentioned within their website. The primary, most
obvious justification for their demands would be the simple fact that Ontario constitutes the highest
tuition rates in all of Canada, as the current framework allows tuition for domestic students to increase
approximately three to five percent annually (Canadian Federation of Students, 2016). This argument
then leads to the discrimination this creates towards students of middle low income households that
are simply unable to afford such high rates. Racism is another issue that is brought up within this
dilemma because it is argued that those who come from racialized or marginalized groups are at
greater risk of facing such realities of financial instability. The group specifically refers to visible
minorities and indigenous communities and the struggles they face within the current white
supremacist and racist Canadian society we live in. Furthermore, the Fight the Fees movement also
advocates on behalf of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

by the organization was the National Day of Action, on November 2, 2016 (The Canadian Federation
of Students, 2016). This was a day in which the participants would protest at Queen s Park and go all

  • 2. Evaluate The Effectiveness Of Ww1 Trenches Of the numerous strategies used throughout World War 1 and 2 those in WW2 proved more effective due to the standstill trench warfare brought, the ease with which trenches were defeated by tanks later in the war, and the speed and efficiency widespread mechanized warfare and blitzkrieg gave to armies in WW2. In throughout WW1, trenches were used quite liberally along the front lines. As a strategy to prevent advancement of the enemy s front lines trenches proved effective, however due to its widespread use by both sides it prevented nearly any progression in the war for periods of time. The stagnation it caused is a major reason why widespread use of the tactic was ineffectual. Dues to the long periods troops stayed in trenches, which were quite unsanitary and muddy soldiers often contracted infectious diseases or gangrene, pushing this tactic further into the reaches of inferior due to the harm it could cause one s own troops. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Tanks allowed a force to advance towards an enemy s lines with the protection of the armor and playing a part in rendering trenches obsolete. The further advancement of tank technology following WW1 cemented trench warfare s ineffectuality and obsolescence, as the vast majority of tank s flaws were greatly improved. The invention, improvement, and proliferation of tanks not only rendered numerous WW1 strategies completely obsolete but gave rise to mechanized warfare. Mechanized warfare in its various forms proved quite effective One specific type such as the highly mechanized blitzkrieg, allowed the Nazis to very quickly and effectively overwhelm the defenses of nations during invasions prior to and early in the Second World War. Besides Blitzkrieg, mechanized warfare in general, allowed battles to reach a decisive conclusion quickly, meaning battles were often far shorter than in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Creative Talent And Risk Of Pixar Former CTO and current President of Pixar, Edwin Catmull, describes in his article How Pixar Fosters Collective Creativity of 2008 the numerous aspects used at the pioneer of computer animation for structuring and operating a creative organization. He bases his outline on the key assumption that finding and supporting smart people is much more important to Pixar than good individual ideas (Catmull, 2008). The principles and practices for managing creative talent and risk are proven successful and were transferred to the revived Disney Animation Studio after the merger in 2006. Pixar sees its creativity supporting structure as a competitive advantage based on the fact that all nine released films were huge commercial successes and scored with critics (Catmull, 2008). Additionally, Pixar never hat to buy scripts or movie ideas from external sources. After the article was written, Pixar released fived more films. All of them were again commercial successes, but critics consistently received Cars 2 of 2011 as Pixar s First Bad Movie (Tyler, 2011). After 2008 and after the adaption of Pixar s organizational structure Disney Animation Studios released seven new films, they showed an enormous increase in critical ratings and an overall decent financial success (Kays, 2013). After the bad reviews of Cars 2 and criticism about Pixar recently focusing too much on established franchises, Catmull announced that the studio plans to significantly scale back its production of sequels ... • 4. The Epic of Gilgamesh What Meets The Eye In today s day and age, literature and media have ample effect on how our society influences individuals. Women are perceived as sexual objects, but have the ability to persuade and influence the male character in literature. The Epic of Gilgamesh portrays the significance ancient Mesopotamian Literature has made on the social image that women possess pertaining to sexuality and appearances to the public eye in modern culture. In Gilgamesh, the harlot Shamhat held a reputation proving that women are only represented in one way. To support this argument, many aspects such as defining the Male Gaze, heroism, and how women influence the main character, all prove how poorly women are portrayed in literature and furthermore in modern media and culture. The Epic of Gilgamesh focuses mainly on the two male protagonists Enkidu and Gilgamesh. Shamhat was later introduced into the story as a temple prostitute that had the reputation of taming wild beasts (Martin 103). She domesticates Enkidu into the ways of humankind using seduction, but as the story continues, it shows how truly important Shamhat s position is in the epic. Shamhat, in her role, is a generous force that brings knowledge and progress to a strong hero preparing him for the many tribulations ahead. One of the aspects we fail to recognize in Mesopotamian literature, let alone all literature of the world, is the heroic roles of women. In Women in the African Epic, Joseph L. Mbele states, ... • 5. Stereotypes In The Film Smoke Signals The film does not rely on any other source other than the Inuk people, and this is why this film has become important to First Peoples media, because of the film s dedication to authenticity, revitalizing interest in long standing traditions. With Smoke Signals , Survivance is demonstrated differently than in Atanarjuat. In Smoke Signals , it was evident that Victor was influenced by stereotypes of Native Americans that were present in the United States. For example there is the bus scene where Victor and Thomas traveled to retrieve the ashes of Victor s father in Arizona, in that scene Victor told Thomas that he did have the image of a Native American. To Victor, a stoic and warrior like image garnered respect and fear from others. As the film progressed Victor transform as a character both in how he lived as an individual and how he saw his Coeur d Alene Heritage. The catalyst for Victor s change of mind was Thomas. Throughout the film, Thomas acted as a shaman, telling stories about the Coeur d Alene and the people of the reservation. Thomas shaman like character was a way to remind Victor that he could never let go of his heritage. The interaction between Thomas and Victor is a representation of the film as a whole and its message. The Survivance that was present in the film was directed at every population of First Peoples. Smoke Signals extends its reach to a vast audience and that was its goal as a film, unlike Atanarjuat s focus on the Inuk people. By ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. The Current State of the U.S. Economy Essay The Current State of the U.S. Economy The United States economy is racing ahead at dangerous speeds, and it may be too late to prevent the return of widespread inflation. Ideally the economy should move ahead gradually and grow at a steady manageable rate. Mae West once stated Too much of a good thing can be wonderful and it seems the U.S. Treasury Secretary agrees. The Secretary announced that due to our increasing surplus and booming economy, instead of having an outsized tax cut, we should use the surplus to further pay down the national debt. A tax cut, though most Americans would favor it initially, would prove counter productive. Cutting taxes would over stimulate an already raging economy, and enhance the possibilities of an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The federal reserve has raised interest rates five times in less then twelve months, and the pervious raises are just barely beginning to take effect. The previous raises averaged around a quarter percentage point, and since these raises failed to slow the economy, Greenspan, unable to take anymore chances doubled the previous with a promise of more to come. The interest rates are expected to reach 7.0% by June, the most severally effected by these constant raises are shareholders. Because of these immediate effects market economists are largely against the interest rate hikes. Their position is that the average inflation rate over the past three years has been at around 2% close to the markets expected inflation rate of 1.9%. The economy is on a sixteen year run, continually moving forward. The historical data is there however; the consumer price index was at 1.6% over the past twelve months and the March year over year rate was at 3.7% The market economists do not stop there due to the vast improvements in productivity, largely due to increased technology and the internet, some market economists argue that Greenspan should leave the economy as is. Ideally the growth rate of the economy should be set by the growth rate of the labor force and productivity, and if the two were similar, inflation would not be a factor. The economy ... • 8. The Expense of Owning a Horse Horses are expensive animals to have around and knowing exactly how expensive before you rush out and buy one is imperative. Usually the cheaper part of getting a horse is the actual purchase price. Horses can cost anywhere between a few hundred to thousands of pounds depending on the type and breed of the horse, the age, who is selling the horse and why, how much training he s had and how experienced he is. Buying a horse from a private seller Buying from a private seller rather than a trainer, breeder or dealer can be a way to get a good deal and save money. Private sellers often advertise in newspapers, on bulletin boards of tack stores or on buy and sell websites. If you re inexperienced with horses be sure to bring along someone you trust when seeing a horse. An experienced horseperson will be able to tell if the animal is good for you and whether or not it seems to have any behavioural problems. If your expert feels the horse is sound and good for you, then a vet will determine if the animal is health and suitable for what you want to use it for. Some of the better reasons private owners sell their horses are a change in finances resulting in the horse being too expensive to keep, moving and not being able to take the horse with them, wanting to replace a beginner s horse with a seasoned show animal, children moving out of the house and leaving no one to ride the horse or just generally losing interest in the hobby. Unfortunately people also sell horses for less ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

What this game represents as the name implies is a form a high card battle. So, it s one deck, two cards, and a true test of bottle, with players battling the dealer in order to win big. We love games that just get to the point, with Duelling for Dollars doing that in a rather spectacular fashion. Duelling for Dollars is incredibly fun to play, but it does carry a few issues when it comes to payouts, as this game just isn t as stacked as other Galaxy Gaming titles. Most of the payouts in this game are token offerings at best, ranging between $20 and just a $1. Free Duelling for Dollars is a really fun game, but when it comes to prizes it s a case of little and often. From Single Card to a Super Win! Honestly, anyone of any skill level should be able to play free Duelling for Dollars with minimal fuss. Things kick off when you decide on your wager, then you just need to update any side bets you wish to invoke before officially starting the game. After doing the aforementioned, you ll be dealt a single card (so will the dealer), with the highest card of the two winning the game round. • 10. Adaptations Are Broken Into Three Types Of Adaptations INTRODUCTION Adaptations are broken into three types of Adaptations. Structural, Physiological and Behavioural, these types of adaptations differ from one another changing a different aspect of the organism. Structural Adaptations are the change in appearance based on the organism s environment. Physiological Adaptations are the organisms body chemistry, metabolism, and reproductive attributes. Behavior Adaptations are the way in which an organism acts. THE RED KANGAROO The kangaroos ability to hop is a structural adaptation. The kangaroo s leg muscles spring when the kangaroo makes impact with the ground. This transfer from elastic potential energy to kinetic energy saves the kangaroo from using unnecessary energy to cover large distances. (As seen in figure 1) The female kangaroo s efficient breeding cycle also assists them in surviving the harsh environment. They have the ability, when pregnant, to put the growth of the embryo on hold until external conditions improve. This increases the chances of the young surviving. In times of drought, many kangaroos will die but when conditions are good female kangaroos can have three young ones with them at the same time: one as an embryo (not yet born), one in the pouch attached to a teat and one outside the pouch but still drinking the mother s milk. This extreme breeding cycle is a huge physiological adaptation that has allowed the kangaroo to reproduce. A physiological adaptations of the red kangaroos is that they ... • 11. Medieval Feudalism Essay As children, we grew up with a picture of the medieval European society to be a fairy tale, where everyone had wonderful lives. As it is also stated in the book about how Disney interpretations ignores the level of oppression under feudalism. In the medieval times the social and economic system ran based on the European feudalism, which caused various problems for majority of the population. The Europeans feudalism consisted of 90 percent of their population being peasant, then 5 percent being knights, the other 5 percent being the nobles and royalty. Analysis Of Lois Lowry s The Giver Newberry Medalist, Lois Lowry, reflects her fascination with the stages of life into her many novels that depict young adults coping with the challenges that come with growing up. And like many recognized authors Lowry has been asked again and again, Where did you get this idea? For each novel written by Lowry the inspiration arises from diverse occasions from her life. In The Giver Lowry explores the new territory of a fantasy realm of society that is free from pain, disorder, and overpopulation; but in a world without love, color, and memories the perfect society turns to dystopia. (Novels for Students) As an explanation for the origins of The Giver Lois Lowry, in her Newberry Medal acceptance speech, compares her inspiration for the novel to the river Jonas looks into, seeing the world differently for the first time. Her ideas started as a mere spring, trickling in from a glacier; and each of the tributaries came from memories, coming together to make the flowing current of the river. (Lowry) The river of inspiration began with a distant memory of Lowry s childhood, living in Tokyo in the close confines of an American army base. Within a foreign country she lived in a community with American neighbors, an American movie theater, church, schoolhouse, and everything that made them feel more at home. In 2012 Ala Wahib posed for what he thought would be an ordinary picture however the image became extraordinary due to its inclusion in an article titled An officer and a Muslim Zionist . It is important that at first glance it is not clear that the officer is a Muslim because it counters a stereotype that all Muslims look alike or that Muslims are at war with Jews. In the article Wahib is asked about how he feels about being the highest ranking Muslim officer in the Israeli army and a Zionist. The illustration of a Muslim soldier in the IDF is a great example of how images can have varying interpretations based on ones perspective. There is a problem in the modern world with the way we look and understand images having to do with Islam. Efforts taken by the media to share images which creates a positive perspective on Islam, are rare. Instead images that cause the public to connect Muslims to terror and radicalism are common because the media utilizes punctum s such as, an image of a young victim of a terror attack, to tap into ones emotions, gaining the public s attention. the reason why the media cares about increasing their audience is because the world revolves around money and unfortunately the world has become so used to opening up the newspaper in the morning and seeing negative images, that positive images don t appeal to media moguls. A quality of enjoyable sounds can be found in poems that readers also consider serious. In all three poems, Poe chose detailed musical effects. Poe believed his art should be looked at internationally, rather than nationally or regionally. He was usually known at the time with the South. He did not defend his region s politics or social customs, like other southern writers. His lyricism was common to southern poets. • 31. Planned Parenthoods October 20th, 2015 the U.S House voted to end taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood due to their harvesting of body parts of aborted babies and fetal tissue, among other parts for scientific research and selling to third party companies to distribute. The companies they sold to used the parts as they wished for research and supposedly for ingredients in cosmetic wear. Center for Medical Progress, an anti abortion group, released the videos of them secretly meeting with director of Texas Planned Parenthoods who teaches the methods for abortions for the state, whom explained that they perform abortions to gather intact fetal specimens. Many types of people claim that such an issue is so morally corrupt that the company should be defunded federally, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A professor of University of Wisconsin Madison s law, medicine and public health, explains that it makes sense that money is involved in the procurement of tissue and organs, even if that involves fetal specimen. The professor, R. Alta Charo says, It s been going on for 50 or 60 years; it s ordinary practice, she says. There is good reason for it. We want to help the people who are living or may be living in the future. But according to Eric Ferrero, vice president of communications at Planned Parenthood Federation of America, says the research has advanced vaccines, treatments for life threatening diseases, and goes toward finding cures for specific maternal and infant health conditions. The National Institutes of Health Revitalization Act even allows for reasonable payments associated with transportation, implantation, processing, preservation, quality control, or storage of human fetal issue. This law doesn t define reasonable payments , so violations can be difficut to prove. Most Planned Parenthood facilities and any abortion provider don t have control over how fetal tissue is ultimately used and many women (patients) are uninformed of the possibilities of how their donation is used in the consent forms. Research to develop skin cosmetics and anti aging products has also benefitted from the collecting of fetal tissue (non medical) and there isn t a standing law that prevents ... Fight The Fees Movement Analysis The various demands mentioned above by the Fight the Fees movement have been supported with multiple arguments that have been explicitly mentioned within their website. The primary, most obvious justification for their demands would be the simple fact that Ontario constitutes the highest tuition rates in all of Canada, as the current framework allows tuition for domestic students to increase approximately three to five percent annually (Canadian Federation of Students, 2016). This argument then leads to the discrimination this creates towards students of middle low income households that are simply unable to afford such high rates. Racism is another issue that is brought up within this dilemma because it is argued that those who come from racialized or marginalized groups are at greater risk of facing such realities of financial instability. The group specifically refers to visible minorities and indigenous communities and the struggles they face within the current white supremacist and racist Canadian society we live in. Furthermore, the Fight the Fees movement also advocates on behalf of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
