Why I Acted As A Job Coach For A Young Man With Cognitive...
A few semesters ago, I completed fieldwork for another course with Tommie Calfee, CTRS at
Austin Travis County Integral Care (ATCIC), where I acted as a job coach for a young man with
cognitive and developmental disabilities resulting from a traumatic brain injury sustained
immediately after birth. My experience with J. and ATCIC was so enlightening and fulfilling that
when I saw that Tommie was looking for volunteers this semester, I jumped at the chance to once
again be a part of the amazing team at ATCIC. The bulk of my hours were spent preparing for and
volunteering at the New Milestones Foundation s Bridging the Gap Unmasking Stigma, Changing
the Script of Homelessness fundraising gala, but I also had the opportunity to work with the
Substance AbusePrevention Services team in their Strengthening Families program.
Austin Travis County Integral Care, formerly Austin Travis County Mental HealthMental
Retardation (MHMR) Center, assists over 26,000 Travis County residents with brain based
disorders annually by providing community based services ( About Us Austin Travis County
Integral Care ). Services offered range from crisis, psychiatric and medication treatment to
employment and vocational services; even housing and supported living services are provided.
Every program is designed to meet the needs of those served in a way that respects their dignity
and human rights. In fact, the name of the agency was changed, in part, to honor the dignity of

Hosit Themes
I chose to do my analysis on the film ВЁITВЁ directed by AndrГ©s Muschietti. It was released
September 8, 2017. The movie runs about 2 hours and 15 minutes. The genre is a drama/thriller
film. Some parts were added in during the editing process to make the clown ВЁPennywiseВЁ
look more realistic. The main theme is overcoming your fears. Seven kids all have fears and
have to overcome it in order to save their own lives. There are also many smaller themes that I
personally noticed such as, growing older. All seven kids were very young and naive when the
movie first started, but once life hit them in the face, they all seemed to grow super fast. Also,
another huge theme would be teamwork. As kids, we thrive with others around us. They all had to

They all have different fears such as, the fear of growing up, the fear of their abusive parents,
and the fear of clowns. The setting is in Derry, Maine at the kids houses and the clown s home.
The recording took place in Riverdale, Toronto. The soundtrack included many 1980 s hits such
as Six Different Ways by The Cure, Love Removal Machine by The Cult, Antisocial by Anthrax,
Bust a Move by Young MC, Hangin Tough by New Kids on the Block, and You ve Got It (The
Right Stuff) by New Kids on the Block. The director, AndrГ©s Muschietti, used many standard
camera angles to have better view of the casts facial expressions. In the editing process, they didn t
need to edit many special effects because Bill SkarsgГҐrd, who played IT himself, already could do
most of the facial expressions expressed in the book by Stephen King. SkarsgГҐrd could move his
eyes in separate directions, he had the creepiest laugh, and he already could do the famous

Abolishment In Frankenstein
Despite how extravagantly different the creation scene is in Shelley s novel compared to what is
presented on screen, there is little to say on the subject. As already mentioned in the introduction,
the tradition of exuberant, showy creation scenes didn t begin with the original
textit{Frankenstein} (1931), but with the 1910 edition, where it lends half of its runtime to the
conjuration of the monster. Each iteration of Frankensteinthereafter copies this extravagant method
of portraying the creation scene, and as they do so, knowledge of Shelley s minimal description is
lost. First, we must explore why her version of events isn t inclusive of the embellishment and
indulgence on screen.

In Shelley s text, the scene consists of a few ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Yet he acknowledges that this moment is not one to celebrate, and thus compensates for this using
other methods, turning the showy scene from a contradiction to a juxtaposition that emphasises the
monstrosity of not only the monster, but Victor s actions in creating it: First, the monster lunges
from a great copper sarcophagus filled with water to make it a kind of womb. After he lands
sprawling in the spill tank under it, Victor lifts him up, vainly tries to show him how to walk, then
ties him standing to a set of chains. But when the struggling creature is struck by a falling piece of
wood and shortly goes limp, Victor concludes that he himself has killed this luckless heir to massive
birth defects. and that this evil must be destroyed...forever. footcite{James Heffernan, Looking at
the Monster: Frankenstein and Film pp.143} This departure from the novel highlights Victor as a
more paternal figure than the text implies, making a point of the undercurrent of dread the scene
should evoke, yet contrivedly conveying Victor s repulsion at the creature in this scene, Victor is
less repulsed by the creature, as Shelley s text strongly emphasises, but more toward his own
actions. It is only when Victor wakes up to the sight of the lumbering creature in the next scene
does he cry out No! . This decision creates a confusing tone where it could initially be
misconstrued by the audience that Branagh s Victor is merely startled by the presence of a monster
he had presumed dead, muddling up the message of Victor s regret and of the repercussions of
rebirth that Shelley intends on

Cybercrime Challenges Of Public Universities
2.3 Cybercrime Challenges in public universities
2.3.1 High Level network threats.
Viruses: University students are heavy users of social media like Facebook, Twitter, and
YouTube. It is impossible to totally block access to this social media on a university campus
which can be used to spread a host of malware that can spread like wildfire through social media
sites like the hilarious video attack on Facebook earlier this year. Quickly identifying which devices
are infected is essential to maintaining network security and protecting crucial data.
Phishing and Infrastructure Attacks: Public universities provide online services which provide vast
information for social engineers to use as credentials. Infrastructure attacks, are also common as
Universities are pretty valuable for computing power, and for bandwidth to store traffic or use for
DDoS attacks attackers aren t just after the intellectual property, but are attempting to gain control
of infrastructure they can leverage.
BYOD (Bring Your Own Device): Students and lecturers are now coming to work with their own
devices on campuses across the country. From iPads to new Android phones, new intelligent
devices are launched daily with upgraded versions of operating systems that are ripe for infection
and ready to infect the institutions network. This creates many security issues for campus security
practitioners, who must secure an ever increasing number of devices.

The Social and Cultural Life of Americans during the Cold War
The threat of nuclear war in the 1950 s was real and was one that was on the mind nearly every
person in both the United States and the United Kingdom. After the end of the Second World War
the world can be seen to be split into two sides, the East and the West, Communism and
Democracy. After the Second World War the Soviet Union became paranoid with the West as well
as the United States become paranoid of the Communist East, and after the Soviets had made their
first nuclear bomb this created massive friction between the NATO alliance and the Soviet Union
and the eastern bloc. Only after the soviet union had obtained the hydrogen bomb and began to
stockpile nuclear warheads in the 1950 s did the real fear of nuclear annihilation begin to... Show

This sense of paranoia that can also be accredited to the culture or nuclear preparedness. Families
were advised to build fallout shelters and in schools children were told to duck and cover in the
case of nuclear disaster. This sense that nuclear annihilation could happen at any moment was
well established in American culture. However in Britain the fear on the bomb can be seen as
lesser than that of the USA. As Peter Hennessy expresses in his book Having it so good, Britain
in the fifties The wider, personal implications of the bomb perhaps burnt their way into the
collective British psyche more slowly than might have been expected 3. Towards the beginning
of the nuclear arms race, a lot of information was not disclosed to the public, such as the amount
if casualties caused if the Soviet Union dropped bombs on Britain which was around 1,378,000
people, and the size of the bombs used was around 1.6 megatons of TNT. Although there were
some civil defence films that tried to paint a picture of nuclear war none of them captured the
threat of war and many films trivialised it as Spencer R. Weart writes the stage was dominated by
tales of mutant tribes and so forth 4 this caused many people to downplay the threat of nuclear war
due to the lack of decent portrayal of nuclear war, Weart writes Nearly three decades passed without

The Meaning Of Reasonable Accommodations For Religious...
The Meaning of Reasonable Accommodations for Religious Practices The meaning of reasonable
religious accommodations in accordance with the Civil Rights Act, Title VII 1964 legislation can
at times seem perplexing. A reasonable accommodation is an adjustment to the work environment
that will allow an employee to comply with their religious practices or beliefs according to the
EEOC.gov website. The word reasonable is a word that can be loosely interpreted in different ways.
Orthodox Jews Orthodox Jews live their lives according to their strict Biblical principles; they live
in close knit groups or clusters and reject the ways of modern society as told by (Wertheimer,
2014). The Orthodox Jewish religion requires married women to cover their hair. The Orthodox
Jewish biblical law considers a woman s hair is the essence of their beauty; therefore married
women do not usually show their hair as not to attract attention from men. Orthodox Jews attend
church on Saturdays and they observe the certain religious holidays such as Rosh Hashanah.
Some Orthodox Jewish men wear beards as a sign of their faith. According to their religious
practice they cannot use a razor to shave so it is easier to let their beards grow long as told by
(Lissner, 2010). Our company dress code states that hats or coverings of the head are not
permissible and neatly trimmed beards and mustaches, not more than 1 inch long are permissible.

True Feelings in Billy Collins Taking Off Emily...
True Feelings in Billy Collins Taking Off Emily Dickinson s Clothes
Upon first look, Billy Collins Taking Off Emily Dickinson s Clothes seems to be a wild fantasy for
Emily Dickinson that he is entertaining. Upon closer examination, however, the poem reveals his
subconscious desire to have sex with his mother and his frustration about his inability to do so,
resulting in the displacement of his sexual desires onto Dickinson.
From the beginning, Collins is very detailed with his description. In fact he is quite anal retentive in
explaining everything about the encounter. He starts from her outside clothing, first, her tippet
made of tulle (1) and on through her mass of clothing until finally reaching her corset ... Show

The mother of pearl buttons on the back (7 8) of the dress can be seen as an unconscious
Freudian slip which reveals Collin s true sexual feelings toward his mother. He could have
referred to the buttons as any color, but he chooses to use the term mother of pearl (7). Collins
then says that he buttons are so tiny and numerous that it takes forever before [his] hands can
part the fabric (9 10). He seems to be very methodical in his act of undressing Dickinson. He is
the one doing the undressing, he is the one in charge, and it is he who is in control of every detail.
The simile like a swimmer dividing the water, and slip inside (11 12) might refer to Collins slipping
into his unconscious and thinking about his mother, forgetting about Dickinson.
The fourth stanza begins with the line You will want to know that she was standing by an open
window in an upstairs bedroom (13 15) This seems to be more of Collin s anal retentiveness
trying to prove that he is in control. Se is motionless, a little wide eyed (16), which demonstrates
her innocence and how helpless she seems to be in this whole situation. By her lack of
participation and his over zealous control, one would think that it is more of a rape than a sexual
encounter. The phrase looking out at the orchard below (17) seems to be a phallic symbol.

Beloved Iron Chain
Beloved follows the story of Sethe as she retraces her past and shines light onto the dark side of
slavery. Paul D depicts this when he recounts his time in prison in Alfred, Georgia and at Sweet
Home, a plantation in Kentucky. The theme of iron and the reduction of humans to animals is a
constant in his stories, from the iron bit to the iron chain. In Beloved, Toni Morrisonuses the chain
to signify both the connection and disconnection that slaveryfostered.
Upon introduction to the chain, its physical purpose is clear: it s meant to restrain the men. When
Morrison writes, one thousand feet of the best hand forged chain in Georgia , she is emphasizing
this purpose. The worst of everything was usually afforded to the slaves, from the five

Film Review Of The Film Slumdog Millionaire
Film review Tittle of the film is Slumdog Millionaire . The director of this heart breaking film is
Danny Boyle. The film was released in 2008 and it lasts for about 2 hours. This movie is based
on the book Q and A by Vikas Swarup. (Wikipedia) The film itself portrays a powerful sense of
prejudice. It shows the vast divide between people with money and power, as opposed to those
who are poor and have nothing. This movie challenges the stereotype that poor people cannot be
smart through retelling the life of an Indian boy. Summary This is a heartbreakingly sad but also
a truthful movie. We get to see what conditions many people must live in. The storyline is about
an Indian boy Jamal Malik who joined the TV show who wants to be a millionaire . The entire
film is based on flashbacks that Jamal is at the local police station. After the first part of the
show, he was sent there for interrogation, as the show host thought he might have cheated.
However, no matter how long and brutal the interrogation was, he remained calm and insisted
that he knew all the answers. After the chief of police replayed the entire episode of the TV
show, Jamal was able to document every single answer based on the events that took place
during his life. During the movie we are introduced to two other characters, Salim and Latika.
Since they were kids, they portrayed themselves as the three musketeers. Starting the life in the
slums their paths have been crossed many times under different circumstances. Surprisingly, each
question asked during the show is somehow tied to certain events that has taken place during
Jamal s life. He goes on about telling all the fragments from his life to prove the fact that he
knew the answers. In the end, the police officer shows him mercy and compassion, by believing
in him and delivering him back to the TV show with an escort to make sure justice is upheld.
Danny Boyle is an English director and film producer. Boyle started his career directing television
series, including criminal serial Inspector Morse. Their international breakthrough he received with
the film Trainspotting. (Wikipedia) Vikas Swarup is an Indian writer and diplomat. He is best

Essay on Cis Memory Management
CIS:328
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to show how memory is used in executing programs and its critical
support for applications. C++ is a general purpose programming language that runs programs using
memory management. Two operating system environments are commonly used in compiling,
building and executing C++ applications. These are the windows and UNIX / Linux (or some
UNIX / Linux derivative) operating system. In this paper we will explore the implementation of
memory management, processes and threads.
Memory Management
What is a Memory Model?
A memory model allows a compiler to perform many important optimizations. Even simple compiler
optimizations like loop fusion move statements in the program can influence the ... Show more

Other functions need to be used to segment the virtual memory pages into useful segments. Since
virtual memory is allocated by pages, a number of special paging features can be used on virtual
memory that cannot be used on other types of memory. For instance, pages can be locked (to
prevent read/write access), or they can be protected from any particular access mode (read, write,
execute).
Heap memory and allocating a memory block
Each program is provided with a default process heap, but a process may optionally allocate any
number of additional heaps, if more storage is needed. The heap functions will manage their
virtual memory usage automatically, and therefore heaps can be set to grow if they are being
filled up with data. If a heap is allowed to grow automatically, the heap functions will automatically
allocate additional pages as needed. On the x86 architecture the heap grows in size towards higher
memory addresses.
To use heap memory, a heap must first be allocated (or a handle must be obtained to the default
heap). Once you have obtained a handle to a heap, you can pass that handle to the memory
allocation functions, to allocate memory from that particular heap.
Managing process specific memory
The cpu executes a large number of programs while its main concern is the excution of uer
programs, the cpu is also needed for other system activities. These activities arecalled processs. A
process is a program in execution. Typically a batch job is a process.

Life is a never ending sequence of problems. Every person has to learn to overcome them

Through period of time Pertamina implements numbers of IS to address various corporate s

Comparison Of Gucci And Bape
The clothing brands, Gucci and BAPE, are two very well known brands. With both being heavy
hitters in contemporary fashion industry due to endorsement and references from popular figures in
modern media. They are both some of the most well established clothing brands with each having
their own unique appeal given to them, with each respective brand having a significant impact in
some way, shape, or form. Though the brands are very different in many ways they do have
similarities; each brand has a history behind them, has an impact in the fashionindustry, and shows
your social status.
First of all, both Gucci and Bape have a long history behind them. Gucci was a brand that started off
in Florence, Italy that started off due a man named Guccio Gucci. When he was working at a
hotel in Paris he observed the guests walk in with beautiful leather luggage. He returned to his
hometown of Florence with the idea of making high quality leather goods. While BAPE started

college and decided to start a fashion company. He borrowed four million yen from an
acquaintance along with using his shop for early printing. Nigo s first shop nowhere was the
precursor to BAPE, and when it came to decide on a name for the brand he decided to use Planet

A Capitalist Manifesto By Gary Wolfram
In A Capitalist Manifesto, Gary Wolfram provides an explanation of how free market systems work
in society and highlights their benefits compared to socialist economies. The first chapters of the
book are an introduction to microeconomics: how marginal analysis, supply, demand, market
equilibrium, opportunity cost, and profits work. According to him there are three fundamental
advantages to a market economy: it allocates resources efficiently, consumers determine wages and
therefore income distribution is fair, and finally it s the only method of organizing society that is
consistent with individual liberty. He explains that socialismis an economic system that is is
unable to provide a decent standard of living for people and that it cannot survive, giving as an
example the fall of the Iron Curtain. The reason is that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He discredits the belief that in a free market the producers/business owners control the system
and dictate outcomes to consumers and laborers by saying that in a free market the consumers
are king, they are not forced to purchase a product, and they determine the price of products and
the incomes of owners of resources. Another misconception he debunks is that the market system
is a fierce one of survival at the expense of one s rival. On the contrary, he says markets are very
cooperative systems allowing for specialization of labor that is only possible based on cooperation.
Another aspect I liked is when he talks about the benefits of free trade and property rights in their
role in promoting progress throughout history. They provide incentives for invention and
innovation. Overall I liked the book, the chapters are short, straight to the point, and he uses some
good examples to illustrate his point. It s interesting to read about how everything works because
we never stop to think about it: what affects prices, inflation,

La discriminaciГіn en nuestra sociedad mexicana
A lo largo de la historia de nuestro paГs, generaciones de pueblos indГgenas han sufrido algГєn

Mountaintop Removal Case Study
Introduction
Today, the extraction of natural resources takes on many different forms. Mountaintop removal
(MTR) is one approach applied in the Appalachian region of the United States for the extraction of
the resource coal. MTR approaches the coal from the top of the mountain by blasting away the
layers of rock above the coal seams and scraping away the layers of coal. This process leaves behind
effects to the surrounding environment including flooding, contamination to water and air, health
impacts, and ecological impacts. In response to these effects the community members most affected
have taken it upon themselves to raise their voices in protest. This form of environmental justice
challenges the existing legal permits and policies by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The suit against the coal company became known as Ohio Valley Environmental Coalition v.
Aracoma Coal Company. This lawsuit involved four permits issued by the United States Army
Corps of Engineers, allowing for certain mountaintop mining processes at four mining sites in
West Virginia. OVEC alleged that the Corps violated the National Environmental Policy Act
(NEPA) by failing to adequately assess the environmental impact of the valley fills, by
improperly limiting the scope of the environmental assessment, and by ignoring evidence
regarding the cumulative effects of valley fills on the environment (Clark, 2008, p. 146). Much
to the surprise of these coalition groups on March 2007, the district court found in favor of
OVEC and held that the Corps failed to comply with the CWA and NEPA when it issued the four
permits. The court further noted that a CWA Section 404 permit may not be issued if the Corps
fails to comply with its own guidelines and with NEPA when making a finding of no significant
impact. The court remanded the permits to the Corps for further consideration in light of its
findings. The court also rescinded the four permits, enjoining the Corps and Intervenors from taking
any action under the challenged permits. On appeal, the Fourth Circuit reversed the district court s
order and held that the Corps did not violate the CWA or NEPA in

Waltham Motors Division Case
Managerial Accounting Case Waltham Motors Division
Answer 1: Breakeven point
If Waltham Motors Division sells 13,326 units, it will breakeven. But why Waltham incurred net
losses when it sold more than 13,326 units in May? The unfavorable cost variances (see answer 2
and 3) and Waltham s high operating leverage were major reasons for its financial problems.
Waltham s operating leverage is 3.85 times, which indicates that the operating income is very
sensitive to changes in sales.
Answer 2: Total cost per unit
The budgeted cost per unit is $42.93, and the actual cost per unit is $49.51. When figuring the cost
per unit, we include all the cost, including selling and administration costs. The actual cost per unit

$1,400, direct manufacturing labor by $22,000, variable manufacturing overhead by $9,756, and

To gain further insight, we subdivide the flexible budget variance for direct cost inputs into more
detailed variances as following:
Price variance * The $4,200 favorable direct materials price variance could be because of skillful
negotiation skills of purchasing manager on direct materials, a change to a lower price supplier,
a decrease in market price of direct material, and potentially lower quality materials. * The $5,600
unfavorable direct manufacturing labor price variance could be because of an increase in market
price of direct labor or, poor negotiation skills of purchasing manager or human resource manager
on direct labor costs.
Efficiency variance * The $5,600 unfavorable direct materials efficiency variance and the $16,400
unfavorable direct manufacturing labor efficiency variance could be because of unskilled workers,
poor production schedule, or poor machine maintenance.
We also subdivide the variable costs overhead variance and fixed costs overhead variance into more
detailed variances as following:
Variable overhead variance * The unfavorable $9,756 variable manufacturing overhead variance
arises probably because of the difference

APRNs have greater responsibilities compare to RNs as their scope of practice expand. APRNs
can diagnose and provide treatment for patients. This increase their liability, thus having
malpractice insurance is inevitable. In my opinion private personal malpractice insurance is
beneficial for APRNs regardless whether the employer offers it or not. The malpractice insurance
provided by the employer may look more after the employer s best interests. Malpractice insurances

Daoism Experience
For my practice, I decided to intuitively interpret the Taoist concept of wu wei and practice not
doing for the entirety of two weeks. Instead of studying the philosophy beforehand, I decided to
take a page from the Tao Te Ching and allow my understanding of the Tao to unfold naturally, by
observing the Tao in real life. At the end of the two week period I read the Tao Te Ching
and
observed which lessons I had internalized.
One of the reasons I chose Daoism was that I believed it would be an easier practice than the
others, given that the Daoist philosophy centers around not doing. I could not have been more
incorrect. In fact, this essay has been the most difficult to articulate in my undergraduate career.
After all, the Tao that can be told is not the eternal Tao ; rather, it is a mystery (Mitchell, 1988). I
learned that, in a society that values mastery, sometimes the most difficult course of action is not
acting at all. Practicing wu wei requires one to relinquish control over a situation. I found this to be
antithetical to the cultural values I was raised with, and it was hard to break old habits. According
to the Tao Te Ching, to know the masculine principle but to act in accordance... Show more content

The hotel is only four years old. It has 46 sleeping apartments for visitors and invalids who wish
to stay here for their health. The mineral springs were discovered in 1867 and with it the
realization that this mineral water could be consumed as a health preserving beverage and to
bathe in this water brought relief to those who suffered from many diseases. The curative
properties of the waters for rheumatism and kidney diseases were thoroughly tested and approved
by the time the hotel was built. The idea for this hotel came about because of Reverend J. F.
Schierbaum s wife. She was an invalid. She tried the remedies of the best doctors in St. Louis, but
failed to get relief. Then trying the waters of Okawville, she was restored to perfect health. She
persuaded her husband, the pastor at St. Peter s German Evangelical Church, to build the hotel
where these wells were located. Because of its reputation for possessing the special waters, many
take the train from St. Louis to bathe in its wondrous waters. A horse drawn wagon from the
establishment picks guests up at the train station and takes them several blocks to the hotel. In
about 1890, John W. Schreiner purchased the hotel and the bathhouse. From St. Paul, Minnesota,
Schreiner had been relieved of his rheumatism having taken the curative waters. He and his brother,
W. A. Schreiner, took over the running of the place. They are also members of St. Peter s Church.

Fireworks Hyperbole Analysis
Hyperbole Throughout my song Fireworks , the literacy device Hyperbole meaning excessive
over exaggeration has come up mid way throughout my song when the artist states Do you ever
feel already buried deep six feet under? Screams but no one seems to hear a thing . This
demonstrates a sign of Hyperbole because the artist is showing the emotions she possess when
no one is around to listen to what she has to say, causing her to act as if she were dead, buried
underground which is just another way of feeling as if no one is there for you. But since the
artist described her emotions as being trapped underground, she has simply overemphasized her
emotions to produce a greater effect because when an individual feels as if no one seems to hear
a word they say, they often feel lost and it may feel as if you are trapped underground but in
reality you re not and being trapped underground feels much worse. This literacy device adds
significance to the song as it... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Loyalty In Julius Caesar
In Shakespeare s play, Julius Caesar, the character Mark Antony remains the same throughout the
play making him a static character. Antony s character has a wide variety of character traits but
most of them remain unchanged throughout the play. And so even though Antony is a well
rounded character he is still static because his many character traits remain the same. Some
examples of Antony s traits that remain constant are his loyalty to Caesar, his manipulative
behavior, his selfishness, and his honor. Antony is loyal to Caesar from the beginning of the
play through the end of it. He shows his loyalty to Caesar at the beginning of the play when he
says I shall remember: when Caesar says do this, it is perform d. (1, 2, 93). When Antony says
this he is only responding to Caesar s request to touch his wife Calphurnia as he runs past in a race
but this still shows Antony s willingness to follow what Caesar says. When Antony says this he is
essentially stating that he is willing to follow any order that Caesar gives him to demonstrate his
loyalty. Antony demonstrates his loyalty again later in the play... Show more content on

Caesar s death. This part of the play shows that Antony is honorable because he is respecting his
friend by avenging his wrongful death. At the end of the play Antony has another display of honor
when he pays respect to Brutus by saying this was the noblest Roman of them all (5, 5, 74). In this
line Antony recognizes Brutus s integrity. He shows that he has respect for Brutus s character even
though he was one of the conspirators. Antony s honor remains with him for the entire course of the

At a minimum, there are five keys to a productive team: positive interdependent, individual

Positive interdependence is achieved when members of the team rely on each other to complete the

Summary Of Danny Wants A Cup Of Water By John Steinbeck
Steinbeck uses imagery and structure to champion his theme that it is peoples intrinsic character
that will ultimately push them to survive even in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds. The
passage opens with Steinbeck describing the cars along route 66 as fraught and unable to go on.
He personifies them by stating that they are panting and struggling . He also uses a metaphor to
compare them with rattling bodies , as if they are the migrant workers themselves. This
characterization of the cars is meant to show an analogy between the migrants and the cars since
both are on the brink of breaking down at any moment. However, the cars still pushing on down the
road also compare to the migrants, but only the ones who have kept fighting.... Show more content

He is able to use the short, yet very powerful story of twelve people in order to strengthen his
psychological argument about how people are able to retain their trust and compassion even in
such devastating times. This is exemplified through the repetition of Danny wants a cup of water
. The first time it is said, Steinbeck uses a simile to describe how the concrete road shone like a
mirror since it is so hot that it creates a rippling effect like a wave in the distance, almost as if the
road is taunting Danny by containing pools of water when he cannot even have a drop. Because
no one has yet acknowledged the thirsty boy, Danny wants a cup of water is repeated. Now,
someone prompts a response with a sympathetic tone through the words, poor little fella.
Furthermore, the person then demonstrates his persistence in getting the boy some water by
saying he will stop at the next service station . Steinbeck has just explained how a majority of
the cars are likely to break down at any moment; therefore, the simple fact that the family still
decides to drive knowing that they might not make it shows how hopeful they really are.
Moreover, with this worry constantly nagging at their minds, they are still able to focus on
satisfying the boy s thirst. Steinbeck then transitions into a family that does not have a car, yet the
same principle of hope and trust applies to them. They come together as a family and prepare for
whatever hardships may come. Though, a man facing the same amount of struggle is able to pick
them up, feed them, and take them to California. Now, Steinbeck uses this example to formulate
his argument. Neither party expects to meet each other, but both are able to help each other. The
family of twelve is able to keep the

A Career In Special Education
Special education teachers remain in high demand. Although there are numerous special education
teaching jobs, there aren t enough individuals in the field to fill these positions. Children suffering
from mental or physical disabilities often need special learning method and require more time and
energy from their instructors. Currently, approximately ten percent of individuals working in this
field lack the necessary credentials, and states are authorizing temporary licenses. Teachers with a
temporary license are then given a predetermined period of time to complete their license. As the
need for teachers in this field is expected to grow by approximately 35 percent over the coming
decade, those wishing to become a special educationteacher will find they have numerous job
opportunities.

At this time, universities train approximately 22,000 teachers to work in special education
teaching jobs every year. This is only 50 percent of the number needed to fill these positions.
Further exacerbating the problem is the departure rate of educators currently working in the field.
Studies show that a special education teacher is significantly more likely to leave his or her
profession than mainstream educators. This is due in part to a lack of support on the part of school
administrators, mounting paperwork, minimal resources and more.

A Brief Look at the Mayan Civilization Essay example
After the disappearance of the Olmec in 100 BCE many Mesoamerican complex societies arose
and continued to carry on many of the things of the Olmec culture. The ceremonial centers that
were now being established brought about large populations of residents to the area. Trade
networks linked the new areas and extended across Mesoamerica. They developed similar to those
in the eastern hemisphere.
The earliest heirs to the Olmec were the Maya people. The Maya can be analyzed in terms of their
culture. This civilization came about in Mesoamerica around 250 AD with a great influence
coming from that of the Olmec. The first 650 years of the Maya civilization s existence was known

After the depopulation of the lowland cities the highland cities continued to flourish. Maya
writing was an expansion on the Olmec tradition of writing in inscriptions. They created the most

Rates Of Reaction Investigation Report
Rates of Reaction Sodium Thiosulphate and Hydrochloric acid
In this piece of coursework, I will study how concentration affects the rate of reaction. I will do so

Thiosulphate with an acid. In this coursework, I will include background knowledge, prediction,
safety, results, calculations, graphs, an analysis, conclusion and an evaluation. In my evaluation I
will comment on how reliable my results were and how I could have improved my coursework in
any possible way.
The definition of rate of reaction is The speed at which a chemical reaction takes place . The
factors that affect the rate of reaction are: В· Use of a catalyst

I have done a preliminary experiment to help me decide the range of concentrations to use and how
much of a difference in concentration to leave between each one. My preliminary results also show
that 5cm3 is a low enough concentration to begin with. My knowledge tells me that
5cm3 will take longer to react because there are less sodium particles that react with the acid. My
experiment is time based and I will not have enough time to go lower. I took 10 concentrations in
the preliminary test already, and this should show enough of a trend already, so there is no need to
do an even lower concentration, as it would not help my experiment in any way.
Apparatus:
В· 100ml conical flask
В· Stopwatch
В· Thermometer
В· Different size measuring cylinders(5ml, 10ml, 50ml)
В· Piece of paper.
В· Blue or black pen
В· Hydrochloric acid
В· Sodium Thiosulphate solution
В· Water
В· Beakers
To keep this a fair test I have made sure that the acid used is the same amount every time. Also
the size of the cross on the piece of paper is the same. The temperature is also the same because
the results could be anomalous if tested in different conditions. Same beakers will not be used for
different chemicals. This can cause reactions in the beakers and will lead to inaccuracies.

Industrial Revolution and Social Changes
Introduction:
Between 1760 and 1860, technological progress, education, and an increasing capital stock
transformed England into the workshop of the world. The industrial revolution, as the
transformation came to be called, caused a sustained rise in real income per person in England and,
as its effects spread, the rest of the Western world. Historians agree that the industrial revolution
was one of the most important events in history, marking the rapid transition to the modern age, but
they disagree about various aspects of the event. Of all the disagreements, the oldest one is over
how the industrial revolution affected ordinary people, usually called the working classes. One

Britain emerged from the Napoleonic Wars as the only European nation not ravaged by financial
plunder and economic collapse, and possessing the only merchant fleet of any useful size
(European merchant fleets having been destroyed during the war by the Royal navy Britain s
extensive exporting cottage industries also ensured markets were already available for many early
forms of manufactured goods. The conflict resulted in most British warfare being conducted
overseas, reducing the devastating effects of territorial conquest that affected much of Europe. This
was further aided by Britain s geographical position an island separated from the rest of mainland
Europe.
Another theory is that Britain was able to succeed in the Industrial Revolution due to the
availability of key resources it possessed. It had a dense population for its small geographical
size. Enclosure of common land and the related agricultural revolution made a supply of this
labour readily available. There was also a local coincidence of natural resources in the North of
England, the English Midlands, South Wales and the Scottish Lowlands. Local supplies of coal,
iron, lead, copper, tin, limestone and water power, resulted in excellent conditions for the

My First Broken Heart
One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain. Bob Marley
It was a humid summer night when I encountered my first broken heart. The wind rustled against
the bushes that lined my front porch. It was humid even though the breeze was present it didn t
give much relief. It was hot but the crickets still chirped, surrounding me with the songs of
nature. It was completely dark but the black sky was the perfect canvas to display the stars. That
s something I loved about my town, you always had stars. I closed my eyes and filled my lungs to
their highest capacity. Slowly exhaling I turn my head slightly to focus on my driveway. The sound
of my mom s minivan disturbed mother nature s lullaby. The car backed out of the driveway and
down the neighborhood. That was the first time my heart was broken, that was the night my mom
left.
Walking into the empty house my dad sits motionless on the couch, the lights dimmed giving the
living room an eerie feel. I look at him, drive? I asked. We hop into the jeep and drive for hours,
emotionless. Neither of us talk or even make a sound all we do is listen to our favorite band, Red
Hot Chili Peppers. This is how we cope. Some people cry, clean, write we drive and listen.
I think art is inherently nonviolent and it actually occupies your mind with creation rather than
destruction. Anthony Kiedis lead singer of Red Hot Chili Peppers.
A year past and I was now a high school freshman. The first day of classes ended up being

Nursing Reflection Paper
On Tuesday November 21st, I had my last rotation at Hartford Hospital. During the month I
spent going there I had the opportunity of treating patients with different systemic diseases, and
getting familiar with the different medications, assessing them for any possible emergency, and
reassuring the need to check vitals and medical history during each appointment. Also, it was a
great place to practice taking radiographs like FMXs, panoramic radiograph and VBWs. In
addition, I had the chance to see the work of dental hygienist in a hospital setting, and I have to
say I liked it a lot. I wish I could have the opportunity to work at a hospital as well. For the
morning I saw a 73 years old how suffers from Parkinson s disease, high blood pressure, and
GERD. She came for her 3 month recall visit and her vitals were BP: 147/67 P: 89. She is an
ASA III, and she came with the help of her daughter who brought and her husband who came to
pick her up. During her gingival assessment I found moderate plaque and BOP in the lingual
aspects of mandibular and maxillary teeth. Patient stated she uses a power toothbrush and does
not floss or uses floss threaders to clean under a fixed bridge she has on the UR quadrant. Her
probing depth readings were generalized 1 3 mm and localized 4 5 mm with generalized abrasion
and recession from 2 4 mm. My patient A.D. represented a challenge for me because during the
debridement with the cavitron and the hand instruments she was uncomfortable.

Nervous Habits Of Han Essay
nervous habits Modern verse: As a young adult, he does not know how to handle shit. He would
want to control his habits out of paranoia. Nothing too severe! Han has an exceptionally solid
sense of self preservation. ( for reasons I have yet to figure out, other than it being a thorough
case of inherent inclination ). I m sure Han is keen enough to have realized he has them early on
and wouldn t want people to take advantage of them in any way, shape, or form. Depending on
the occupation and his age, the requirement, and the skill of handling himself will vary. In a
modern verse, Han is less controlled and skirts along apparent with his habits. After all, we all
have them. Han will stammer at times, delay in replying, rub at his face tiredly, especially over
his eyes ( good way to break from the situation at hand ), laugh nervously, make abrupt attempts in
relieving the weighty air, gesticulate excessively, and finally, deliver sudden ultimatums to
circumvent situations posthaste and or just walk the hell away. Sw verse: It is a corresponding

Abstract
At the request of the Chief Operations Officer and the Vice President Operations, Riordan
Manufacturing, an evaluation was requested for the development of a Material Requirements
Planning (MRP) system. The system is to track and manage raw materials as well as finished
product inventory throughout Riordan Manufacturing. Overall, the objective of implementing an
MRP is to reduce on hand raw materials and finished goods inventory costs. The intent of this paper
is to provide summary information to upper management by demonstrating the business

Once completed, the corporate assets should be more than adequate to support MRP usage along
with other corporate endeavors in the ERP realm.
Based on input from the software vendor, the MRP will be capable of handling an increase in
activity generated by the corporate goal of increased sales and marketing.
Economic feasibility was assessed as follows:
MRP will reduce operational cost by a minimum of 10% by eliminating surge hiring and purchasing
to meet production needs.
MRP will reduce cycle time by a minimum of 15% by normalizing the production lines and
quantities of products on hand or in production.
MRP will reduce on hand stock of finished products by up to 30% by reducing lead times
associated with production and procurement of raw materials.
Break even point will be realized within 6 months of implementation.
MRP will result in greater customer satisfaction as lead times are reduced or eliminated in purchase
to delivery times.
The current business process can be summarized both verbally and visually. Currently raw
materials are ordered and stockpiled. Once an order is received, the material on hand is reviewed to
ensure sufficient quantities are available. If sufficient quantities are not on hand additional
materials are ordered. Deliverables are manufactured and shipped to the customer. Review of raw
materials on hand is

the Reconstruction period of America. In Beloved we follow the life of Sethe along with her
daughter Denver. They use to be a family of seven until the ghost of Sethe s first baby daughter;
the baby was named Beloved. Later in the story a friend/lover from the plantation Sethe came

A few semesters ago, I completed fieldwork for another course with Tommie Calfee, CTRS at Austin Travis County Integral Care (ATCIC), where I acted as a job coach for a young man with cognitive and developmental disabilities resulting from a traumatic brain injury sustained immediately after birth. My experience with J. and ATCIC was so enlightening and fulfilling that when I saw that Tommie was looking for volunteers this semester, I jumped at the chance to once again be a part of the amazing team at ATCIC. The bulk of my hours were spent preparing for and volunteering at the New Milestones Foundation s Bridging the Gap Unmasking Stigma, Changing the Script of Homelessness fundraising gala, but I also had the opportunity to work with the Substance AbusePrevention Services team in their Strengthening Families program. The genre is a drama/thriller film. Some parts were added in during the editing process to make the clown ВЁPennywiseВЁ look more realistic. The main theme is overcoming your fears. Seven kids all have fears and have to overcome it in order to save their own lives. There are also many smaller themes that I personally noticed such as, growing older. All seven kids were very young and naive when the movie first started, but once life hit them in the face, they all seemed to grow super fast. Also, another huge theme would be teamwork. • 4. Abolishment In Frankenstein Despite how extravagantly different the creation scene is in Shelley s novel compared to what is presented on screen, there is little to say on the subject. As already mentioned in the introduction, the tradition of exuberant, showy creation scenes didn t begin with the original textit{Frankenstein} (1931), but with the 1910 edition, where it lends half of its runtime to the conjuration of the monster. Each iteration of Frankensteinthereafter copies this extravagant method of portraying the creation scene, and as they do so, knowledge of Shelley s minimal description is lost. First, we must explore why her version of events isn t inclusive of the embellishment and indulgence on screen. In Shelley s text, the scene consists of a few ... Yet he acknowledges that this moment is not one to celebrate, and thus compensates for this using other methods, turning the showy scene from a contradiction to a juxtaposition that emphasises the monstrosity of not only the monster, but Victor s actions in creating it: First, the monster lunges from a great copper sarcophagus filled with water to make it a kind of womb. After he lands sprawling in the spill tank under it, Victor lifts him up, vainly tries to show him how to walk, then ties him standing to a set of chains. But when the struggling creature is struck by a falling piece of wood and shortly goes limp, Victor concludes that he himself has killed this luckless heir to massive birth defects. and that this evil must be destroyed...forever. footcite{James Heffernan, Looking at the Monster: Frankenstein and Film pp.143} This departure from the novel highlights Victor as a more paternal figure than the text implies, making a point of the undercurrent of dread the scene should evoke, yet contrivedly conveying Victor s repulsion at the creature in this scene, Victor is less repulsed by the creature, as Shelley s text strongly emphasises, but more toward his own actions. It is only when Victor wakes up to the sight of the lumbering creature in the next scene does he cry out No! . This decision creates a confusing tone where it could initially be misconstrued by the audience that Branagh s Victor is merely startled by the presence of a monster he had presumed dead, muddling up the message of Victor s regret and of the repercussions of rebirth that Shelley intends on ... Viruses: University students are heavy users of social media like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. It is impossible to totally block access to this social media on a university campus which can be used to spread a host of malware that can spread like wildfire through social media sites like the hilarious video attack on Facebook earlier this year. Quickly identifying which devices are infected is essential to maintaining network security and protecting crucial data. Phishing and Infrastructure Attacks: Public universities provide online services which provide vast information for social engineers to use as credentials. Infrastructure attacks, are also common as Universities are pretty valuable for computing power, and for bandwidth to store traffic or use for DDoS attacks attackers aren t just after the intellectual property, but are attempting to gain control of infrastructure they can leverage. BYOD (Bring Your Own Device): Students and lecturers are now coming to work with their own devices on campuses across the country. From iPads to new Android phones, new intelligent devices are launched daily with upgraded versions of operating systems that are ripe for infection and ready to infect the institutions network. The Social and Cultural Life of Americans during the Cold War The threat of nuclear war in the 1950 s was real and was one that was on the mind nearly every person in both the United States and the United Kingdom. After the end of the Second World War the world can be seen to be split into two sides, the East and the West, Communism and Democracy. After the Second World War the Soviet Union became paranoid with the West as well as the United States become paranoid of the Communist East, and after the Soviets had made their first nuclear bomb this created massive friction between the NATO alliance and the Soviet Union and the eastern bloc. The Meaning of Reasonable Accommodations for Religious Practices The meaning of reasonable religious accommodations in accordance with the Civil Rights Act, Title VII 1964 legislation can at times seem perplexing. A reasonable accommodation is an adjustment to the work environment that will allow an employee to comply with their religious practices or beliefs according to the EEOC.gov website. The word reasonable is a word that can be loosely interpreted in different ways. Orthodox Jews Orthodox Jews live their lives according to their strict Biblical principles; they live in close knit groups or clusters and reject the ways of modern society as told by (Wertheimer, 2014). The Orthodox Jewish religion requires married women to cover their hair. The Orthodox Jewish biblical law considers a woman s hair is the essence of their beauty; therefore married women do not usually show their hair as not to attract attention from men. Orthodox Jews attend church on Saturdays and they observe the certain religious holidays such as Rosh Hashanah. Some Orthodox Jewish men wear beards as a sign of their faith. True Feelings in Billy Collins Taking Off Emily Dickinson s Clothes Upon first look, Billy Collins Taking Off Emily Dickinson s Clothes seems to be a wild fantasy for Emily Dickinson that he is entertaining. Upon closer examination, however, the poem reveals his subconscious desire to have sex with his mother and his frustration about his inability to do so, resulting in the displacement of his sexual desires onto Dickinson. The mother of pearl buttons on the back (7 8) of the dress can be seen as an unconscious Freudian slip which reveals Collin s true sexual feelings toward his mother. He could have referred to the buttons as any color, but he chooses to use the term mother of pearl (7). Collins then says that he buttons are so tiny and numerous that it takes forever before [his] hands can part the fabric (9 10). He seems to be very methodical in his act of undressing Dickinson. He is the one doing the undressing, he is the one in charge, and it is he who is in control of every detail. The simile like a swimmer dividing the water, and slip inside (11 12) might refer to Collins slipping into his unconscious and thinking about his mother, forgetting about Dickinson. The fourth stanza begins with the line You will want to know that she was standing by an open window in an upstairs bedroom (13 15) This seems to be more of Collin s anal retentiveness trying to prove that he is in control. The film was released in 2008 and it lasts for about 2 hours. This movie is based on the book Q and A by Vikas Swarup. (Wikipedia) The film itself portrays a powerful sense of prejudice. It shows the vast divide between people with money and power, as opposed to those who are poor and have nothing. This movie challenges the stereotype that poor people cannot be smart through retelling the life of an Indian boy. Summary This is a heartbreakingly sad but also a truthful movie. We get to see what conditions many people must live in. The storyline is about an Indian boy Jamal Malik who joined the TV show who wants to be a millionaire . The entire film is based on flashbacks that Jamal is at the local police station. After the first part of the show, he was sent there for interrogation, as the show host thought he might have cheated. However, no matter how long and brutal the interrogation was, he remained calm and insisted that he knew all the answers. After the chief of police replayed the entire episode of the TV show, Jamal was able to document every single answer based on the events that took place during his life. During the movie we are introduced to two other characters, Salim and Latika. Since they were kids, they portrayed themselves as the three musketeers. Starting the life in the slums their paths have been crossed many times under different circumstances. Surprisingly, each question asked during the show is somehow tied to certain events that has taken place during Jamal s life. He goes on about telling all the fragments from his life to prove the fact that he knew the answers. In the end, the police officer shows him mercy and compassion, by believing in him and delivering him back to the TV show with an escort to make sure justice is upheld. Heap memory and allocating a memory block Each program is provided with a default process heap, but a process may optionally allocate any number of additional heaps, if more storage is needed. The heap functions will manage their virtual memory usage automatically, and therefore heaps can be set to grow if they are being filled up with data. If a heap is allowed to grow automatically, the heap functions will automatically allocate additional pages as needed. On the x86 architecture the heap grows in size towards higher memory addresses. To use heap memory, a heap must first be allocated (or a handle must be obtained to the default heap). Once you have obtained a handle to a heap, you can pass that handle to the memory allocation functions, to allocate memory from that particular heap. • 20. A Capitalist Manifesto By Gary Wolfram In A Capitalist Manifesto, Gary Wolfram provides an explanation of how free market systems work in society and highlights their benefits compared to socialist economies. The first chapters of the book are an introduction to microeconomics: how marginal analysis, supply, demand, market equilibrium, opportunity cost, and profits work. According to him there are three fundamental advantages to a market economy: it allocates resources efficiently, consumers determine wages and therefore income distribution is fair, and finally it s the only method of organizing society that is consistent with individual liberty. He explains that socialismis an economic system that is is unable to provide a decent standard of living for people and that it cannot survive, giving as an example the fall of the Iron Curtain. He discredits the belief that in a free market the producers/business owners control the system and dictate outcomes to consumers and laborers by saying that in a free market the consumers are king, they are not forced to purchase a product, and they determine the price of products and the incomes of owners of resources. Another misconception he debunks is that the market system is a fierce one of survival at the expense of one s rival. On the contrary, he says markets are very cooperative systems allowing for specialization of labor that is only possible based on cooperation. Another aspect I liked is when he talks about the benefits of free trade and property rights in their role in promoting progress throughout history. They provide incentives for invention and innovation. Overall I liked the book, the chapters are short, straight to the point, and he uses some good examples to illustrate his point. Mountaintop removal (MTR) is one approach applied in the Appalachian region of the United States for the extraction of the resource coal. MTR approaches the coal from the top of the mountain by blasting away the layers of rock above the coal seams and scraping away the layers of coal. This process leaves behind effects to the surrounding environment including flooding, contamination to water and air, health impacts, and ecological impacts. In response to these effects the community members most affected have taken it upon themselves to raise their voices in protest. The suit against the coal company became known as Ohio Valley Environmental Coalition v. Aracoma Coal Company. This lawsuit involved four permits issued by the United States Army Corps of Engineers, allowing for certain mountaintop mining processes at four mining sites in West Virginia. OVEC alleged that the Corps violated the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) by failing to adequately assess the environmental impact of the valley fills, by improperly limiting the scope of the environmental assessment, and by ignoring evidence regarding the cumulative effects of valley fills on the environment (Clark, 2008, p. 146). Much to the surprise of these coalition groups on March 2007, the district court found in favor of OVEC and held that the Corps failed to comply with the CWA and NEPA when it issued the four permits. The court further noted that a CWA Section 404 permit may not be issued if the Corps fails to comply with its own guidelines and with NEPA when making a finding of no significant impact. The court remanded the permits to the Corps for further consideration in light of its findings. The court also rescinded the four permits, enjoining the Corps and Intervenors from taking any action under the challenged permits. Instead of studying the philosophy beforehand, I decided to take a page from the Tao Te Ching and allow my understanding of the Tao to unfold naturally, by observing the Tao in real life. At the end of the two week period I read the Tao Te Ching and observed which lessons I had internalized. One of the reasons I chose Daoism was that I believed it would be an easier practice than the others, given that the Daoist philosophy centers around not doing. I could not have been more incorrect. In fact, this essay has been the most difficult to articulate in my undergraduate career. After all, the Tao that can be told is not the eternal Tao ; rather, it is a mystery (Mitchell, 1988). I learned that, in a society that values mastery, sometimes the most difficult course of action is not acting at all. Practicing wu wei requires one to relinquish control over a situation. The curative properties of the waters for rheumatism and kidney diseases were thoroughly tested and approved by the time the hotel was built. The idea for this hotel came about because of Reverend J. But since the artist described her emotions as being trapped underground, she has simply overemphasized her emotions to produce a greater effect because when an individual feels as if no one seems to hear a word they say, they often feel lost and it may feel as if you are trapped underground but in reality you re not and being trapped underground feels much worse. He also uses a metaphor to compare them with rattling bodies , as if they are the migrant workers themselves. He is able to use the short, yet very powerful story of twelve people in order to strengthen his psychological argument about how people are able to retain their trust and compassion even in such devastating times. This is exemplified through the repetition of Danny wants a cup of water . The first time it is said, Steinbeck uses a simile to describe how the concrete road shone like a mirror since it is so hot that it creates a rippling effect like a wave in the distance, almost as if the road is taunting Danny by containing pools of water when he cannot even have a drop. Because no one has yet acknowledged the thirsty boy, Danny wants a cup of water is repeated. Now, someone prompts a response with a sympathetic tone through the words, poor little fella. Furthermore, the person then demonstrates his persistence in getting the boy some water by saying he will stop at the next service station . Steinbeck has just explained how a majority of the cars are likely to break down at any moment; therefore, the simple fact that the family still decides to drive knowing that they might not make it shows how hopeful they really are. Moreover, with this worry constantly nagging at their minds, they are still able to focus on satisfying the boy s thirst. Steinbeck then transitions into a family that does not have a car, yet the same principle of hope and trust applies to them. They come together as a family and prepare for whatever hardships may come. Though, a man facing the same amount of struggle is able to pick them up, feed them, and take them to California. It was hot but the crickets still chirped, surrounding me with the songs of nature. It was completely dark but the black sky was the perfect canvas to display the stars. That s something I loved about my town, you always had stars. I closed my eyes and filled my lungs to their highest capacity. Slowly exhaling I turn my head slightly to focus on my driveway. The sound of my mom s minivan disturbed mother nature s lullaby. The car backed out of the driveway and down the neighborhood. That was the first time my heart was broken, that was the night my mom left. Walking into the empty house my dad sits motionless on the couch, the lights dimmed giving the living room an eerie feel. I look at him, drive? I asked. We hop into the jeep and drive for hours, emotionless. Neither of us talk or even make a sound all we do is listen to our favorite band, Red Hot Chili Peppers. This is how we cope. Some people cry, clean, write we drive and listen. I think art is inherently nonviolent and it actually occupies your mind with creation rather than destruction. Anthony Kiedis lead singer of Red Hot Chili Peppers. A year past and I was now a high school freshman. The first day of classes ended up being ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Nursing Reflection Paper On Tuesday November 21st, I had my last rotation at Hartford Hospital. During the month I spent going there I had the opportunity of treating patients with different systemic diseases, and getting familiar with the different medications, assessing them for any possible emergency, and reassuring the need to check vitals and medical history during each appointment. Also, it was a great place to practice taking radiographs like FMXs, panoramic radiograph and VBWs. In addition, I had the chance to see the work of dental hygienist in a hospital setting, and I have to say I liked it a lot. I wish I could have the opportunity to work at a hospital as well. For the morning I saw a 73 years old how suffers from Parkinson s disease, high blood pressure, and GERD. She came for her 3 month recall visit and her vitals were BP: 147/67 P: 89. She is an ASA III, and she came with the help of her daughter who brought and her husband who came to pick her up. During her gingival assessment I found moderate plaque and BOP in the lingual aspects of mandibular and maxillary teeth. Patient stated she uses a power toothbrush and does not floss or uses floss threaders to clean under a fixed bridge she has on the UR quadrant. Her probing depth readings were generalized 1 3 mm and localized 4 5 mm with generalized abrasion and recession from 2 4 mm. My patient A.D. represented a challenge for me because during the debridement with the cavitron and the hand instruments she was uncomfortable. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Nervous Habits Of Han Essay nervous habits Modern verse: As a young adult, he does not know how to handle shit. He would want to control his habits out of paranoia. Nothing too severe! Han has an exceptionally solid sense of self preservation. ( for reasons I have yet to figure out, other than it being a thorough case of inherent inclination ). I m sure Han is keen enough to have realized he has them early on and wouldn t want people to take advantage of them in any way, shape, or form. Depending on the occupation and his age, the requirement, and the skill of handling himself will vary. In a modern verse, Han is less controlled and skirts along apparent with his habits. After all, we all have them. Han will stammer at times, delay in replying, rub at his face tiredly, especially over his eyes ( good way to break from the situation at hand ), laugh nervously, make abrupt attempts in relieving the weighty air, gesticulate excessively, and finally, deliver sudden ultimatums to circumvent situations posthaste and or just walk the hell away. Sw verse: It is a corresponding concept, merely emphasized by the fact that Han needed to protect himself since day one. Instead of having been raised with people around ( or at least, live in an... Growing up alone on Corellia, Han had little choice but to take up a life of crime. around as a young thief in order to survive. For that reason, Solo had to master how to protect himself early on, caulk any openings in which one could utilize and take advantage of or else things simply wouldn t end well for a kid like him. Ergo, once again, you re going to have varied levels of Han controlling himself and his emotions. ( To be frank and depressing, it really just depends on how damaged he is at the time ...
