Many people are aware of something of particular interest to them which conventional wisdom gets badly wrong but assume that one thing is all that really needs to be fixed while the status quo is otherwise fine. Once you escape your silo and start seriously looking around, it becomes obvious that most things you take for granted are pretty much stuffed too. This presentation to CVAF highlights a few of them and argues that adversary systems are no longer fit for purpose.

In 1965, Gordon Moore of Intel saw the doubling of transistors in an integrated circuit doubling every two years. This exponential increase in technological capacity has allowed for many of our modern conveniences. But what will the impact on the U.S. economy be as technology continues to advance exponentially. Enjoy the slide show from Rob Bencini, Economic Futurist so see some of the potential outcomes.

The disruptive impact of technology can either be interpreted as a dangerously destabilizing force or as an open door for creative change. In either case, there are winners and losers. It is difficult to ignore the disruptive aspects of technology in 2011. The bankruptcy of Borders, the US bookstore chain, was testimony both to the growing proliferation of e-readers like the iPad and the Kindle, and to the giant conglomerate’s failure to adjust to market changes quickly enough. It also raised serious questions about the future of the giant bricks-and-mortar discount chains when consumers can easily compare prices and order on line. Blockbuster, which had built its movie rental business on the ability of its networked computers to predict which movies were likely to be the most popular, suffered a similar fate. This time it was the consumer shift to watching streaming videos online. Conventional TV and cable companies also felt the pressure. Sony Pictures, which had cashed in on the growing fascination with gaming online and had turned out to be a major hit with its PlayStation network, was forced to suspend operations for a month in April because it had not taken sufficient security precautions to protect its network. LulzSec, a group estimated to be six youthful hackers, cracked into Sony servers and stole passwords and confidential information concerning a million customers. Clean-up and insurance costs from the debacle were estimated at more than US$ 170 million.

RESEARCH PAPER-1
RESEARCH PAPER-1
Dr. Akhilesh C Prabhakar
The present study begins by surveying, broadly supports the assertion that technology, trade, sustainability and development-led globalization is the path in the Chinese context not adequately paid to attention except with very few original or significant contributions. This research examines the existing pattern in the areas of trade, technology, investment with a view to locate in the development context in the era of globalization. This study also investigates theories of trade, technology movement under capitalist paradigm along with the empirical one. The survey broadly supports the frequent, through usually undocumented, assertion that China’s socialist market paradigm was not different from the capitalist mode of production as tended to neglect and to which they had made few if any original or significant contributions. Alongside, this study used secondary data and analyzed, where the results confirmed that foreign direct investment (FDI), trade and economic growth indicated the presence of long-run sustainable equilibrium relationship between them but created income inequality gap widely among people. It is, thus, important for policymakers to remove obstacles and improve the respective absorptive capacity in order to reap maximized positive inclusive development with equality basis.

REAL ESTATE INDUSTRY 13 The near zero marginal cost society and the real estate industry Name: Date: Institutional Affiliation: Running Head: REAL ESTATE INDUSTRY 1 The near zero marginal cost society and the real estate industry In the eyes of many experts, the third industrial revolution is now firmly set. Most people are realizing that things are changing in the economic and financial worlds. Capitalism, which has for a long time been the dominant economic system in the world, is now slowly being replaced by a technology driven marginal cost society. Capitalism has had a long run, and after a few decades, the new system is already evident in the way people live and organize their lives and activities. The new economic system is attractive because it offers people the chance to handle such problems as sustainability challenges, income inequality and the creation of a democratic global economy. The third industrial revolution continues to affect life, but this does not mean that capitalism is completely dead. Instead, in most parts of the world, things have developed into a sort of hybrid economic game, where the older capitalism continues to affect and influence the newer third industrial revolution, and the newer system also changes capitalism indifferent ways. While capitalism, which has been in play for several decades now, is in decline, the third industrial revolution, being driven by the near zero marginal cost society, is still anecdotal in nature, with experts saying it will take several more decades for it to firmly set in (Rifkin, 2015). Understanding capitalism and the near zero marginal cost society In light of the claims made above, it is important to understand what exactly this near zero marginal cost society is, and how it is affected by capitalism. To do this, it is important to understand what capitalism is. Capitalism has been relatively short compared to other economic systems of the past, but it has had perhaps the biggest impact of them all. Ironically, it is the success of capitalism that is now leading to its downfall (Rifkin, 2015). Capitalism basically means all the aspects of human life are brought to a global marketplace where they can be exchanged for one another as goods. Looking back, almost all aspects of human life have been involved in the capitalistic way of life, from food to social interaction and relationships. According to the father of capitalism, Adam Smith, capitalism works much like gravity. Gravity is guided by the laws of nature, which suggest that for every action, there must be an equal and opposite reaction. In capitalism, supply and demand will lead to a balance that eventually has prices set at an acceptable level for everyone. When the demand for prices goes up, then the prices will go up, but if they rise too high, then demand falls and this forces the prices to be caped or dropped. Another effect of capitalism is that once a product is created, it almost always opens up m ...

The microservices honeymoon is over. When starting a new project or revamping a legacy monolith, teams started looking for alternatives to microservices. The Modular Monolith, or 'Modulith', is an architecture that reaps the benefits of (vertical) functional decoupling without the high costs associated with separate deployments. This talk will delve into the advantages and challenges of this progressive architecture, beginning with exploring the concept of a 'module', its internal structure, public API, and inter-module communication patterns. Supported by spring-modulith, the talk provides practical guidance on addressing the main challenges of a Modultith Architecture: finding and guarding module boundaries, data decoupling, and integration module-testing. You should not miss this talk if you are a software architect or tech lead seeking practical, scalable solutions. About the author With two decades of experience, Victor is a Java Champion working as a trainer for top companies in Europe. Five thousands developers in 120 companies attended his workshops, so he gets to debate every week the challenges that various projects struggle with. In return, Victor summarizes key points from these workshops in conference talks and online meetups for the European Software Crafters, the world’s largest developer community around architecture, refactoring, and testing. Discover how Victor can help you on victorrentea.ro : company training catalog, consultancy and YouTube playlists.
