September 11 
Massacre 
Elizabeth Finch
Analyze the Learner 
 My 2nd grade classroom consists of 20 students, 14 
girls and 6 boys. I have 7 African-Americans, 5 
Caucasian,4 Jewish, and 4 Hispanics. They are all in 
an enrichment based classroom for higher learning.
Main Objectives 
 My students will describe the affects of the September 
11th massacre after watching videos, looking at 
pictures, doing individual projects, and visiting the 
memorial by the end of the week with 90% accuracy.
Day by day breakdown 
 Monday-Students will learn the history of the World Trade Center 
and Pentagon. 
 Tuesday- Students will learn about different departments that were 
at the scene to help the individuals in need. 
 Wednesday- In groups students will decide how they can help the 
victims families 13 years later with care packages and fundraisers. 
 Thursday- Students will learn what America did after the attack 
and why we are still fighting today. 
 Friday- Students will watch clips from the 9/11 video to put 
everything they have learned into perspective. Will take a field trip 
to the World Trade Center and see the outcome.
Use of technology 
 Our classroom will use technology of an Elmo for 
presentations, and computers to look up history facts. 
 Powerpoint presentations, care package ideas.
