Observations from HighEdWeb 2010 Observations from HighEdWeb 2010 Presentation Transcript

  • Observations from HighEdWeb October 2010
  • WE TAKE OURSELVES TOO SERIOUSLY INDIVIDUALS HAVE A SENSE OF HUMOR, INSTITUTIONS AND BRANDS DO NOT
  • OUR IMMATURITY IS OUR DOWNFALL THE ESTABLISHMENT DOESN’T VALUE WHAT WE DO AND THAT’S PARTLY OUR FAULT
  • EVERYONE ELSE ENVIES OUR BILLING MODEL WE HAVE CONTROL OVER OUR FUTURES AND THAT’S AN ADVANTAGE
  • THE COMMUNITY IS OUR GREATEST ASSET LOTS OF BRILLIANT PEOPLE WHO WANT TO SHARE, COLLABORATE, AND COMMISERATE
  • THE BAR HAS BEEN RAISED SINCE 2008 PRETTY ISN’T GOOD ENOUGH ANYMORE. THINK USABLE, USEFUL, AND EFFECTIVE.
  • NONE OF US HAVE ANY TEETH EVERYONE STRUGGLES WITH CLIENTS, WITH LEADERSHIP, AND WITH PRIORITIES
  • KATE ROCKED THE PRESENTATION MORE LAUGHS THAN ANY OTHER TALK I SAW, AND IT WAS HER FIRST TIME PRESENTING
  • EVERYBODY HURTS SOMETIMES
  • IT’S GETTING BETTER ALL THE TIME THE FUTURE OF THE WEB IS BRIGHT AND WE ARE BECOMING THE LEADERS
