entrepreneurs
• The dictionary says an entrepreneur is:
"A person who organizes and manages a business,
assuming the risk for the sake of profit." In short,
an entrepreneur is a business person who does
these things:
– Sees an opportunity for making money
– Makes a plan
– Starts the business
– Manages the business
– Receives the profit
A business can be a big company that makes
televisions or computers. A business can also
be small such as a neighborhood grocery store
or a soft drink stand at a local ball game.
Choosing a Business
• What do you like to do? What do you do well?
• Are there customers who want to buy what
you are selling?
• Are your potential customers willing to pay
the price you are charging?
• Can you make a profit?
• Is your business something you can do safely?
• Let others know what you are selling.

Incentives
• When an entrepreneur perceives that the
incentives outweigh the risk, they are willing to
move forward and act on their idea.
Entrepreneurs are agents of change and the
stimulus for economic growth. Entrepreneurs are
creative and individualistic. They are thinkers
who take their ideas and transform them into
goods and services. Entrepreneurs are
enterprising individuals who see opportunities
and take risks in hopes of earning profits.

Conclusion
If you want extra money, becoming an
entrepreneur may be a solution. Keep your eyes
and ears open -- you will be surprised how many
opportunities for making money will pop up at
home, at school, and in your neighborhood! Keys
to a successful entrepreneurial experience are
finding something you like to do that is safe and
that others are willing to buy; it is also crucial to
set a price that will yield a profit, and to spread
the news on what you are selling.
Make your business, make your piece
of “literature”
In your groups, start creating your pieces of
“literature” based on your visits, impressions,
photos, imagination and newly acquired
knowledge. It can be a short story (50 lines
max) or a poem (10 verses max). It should
include an entrepreneurial activity / idea /
character. You should think of a business you
could have run in the past (distant or not), or
run in the present or future in the town of
Arta or in its larger region.

Path to success
• Each group should write 6 questions to ask to
an entrepreneur about their path to success.
• The questions will be gathered, 10 will be
chosen and then used by all countries for
interviews of local entrepreneur.

  • 2. entrepreneurs • The dictionary says an entrepreneur is: "A person who organizes and manages a business, assuming the risk for the sake of profit." In short, an entrepreneur is a business person who does these things: – Sees an opportunity for making money – Makes a plan – Starts the business – Manages the business – Receives the profit
  • 3. A business can be a big company that makes televisions or computers. A business can also be small such as a neighborhood grocery store or a soft drink stand at a local ball game.
  • 4. Choosing a Business • What do you like to do? What do you do well? • Are there customers who want to buy what you are selling? • Are your potential customers willing to pay the price you are charging? • Can you make a profit? • Is your business something you can do safely? • Let others know what you are selling.

  • 6. An entrepreneur takes a risk to create a new product or develop a better way to operate a business

  • 8. • When an entrepreneur perceives that the incentives outweigh the risk, they are willing to move forward and act on their idea. Entrepreneurs are agents of change and the stimulus for economic growth. Entrepreneurs are creative and individualistic. They are thinkers who take their ideas and transform them into goods and services. Entrepreneurs are enterprising individuals who see opportunities and take risks in hopes of earning profits.

  • 19. Conclusion If you want extra money, becoming an entrepreneur may be a solution. Keep your eyes and ears open -- you will be surprised how many opportunities for making money will pop up at home, at school, and in your neighborhood! Keys to a successful entrepreneurial experience are finding something you like to do that is safe and that others are willing to buy; it is also crucial to set a price that will yield a profit, and to spread the news on what you are selling.
  • 20. Make your business, make your piece of “literature” In your groups, start creating your pieces of “literature” based on your visits, impressions, photos, imagination and newly acquired knowledge. It can be a short story (50 lines max) or a poem (10 verses max). It should include an entrepreneurial activity / idea / character. You should think of a business you could have run in the past (distant or not), or run in the present or future in the town of Arta or in its larger region.

  • 22. Path to success • Each group should write 6 questions to ask to an entrepreneur about their path to success. • The questions will be gathered, 10 will be chosen and then used by all countries for interviews of local entrepreneur.
