 Profile page – Personal Profile Page
 Fan page – Business Page
 Vanity URL – Unique URL for your Business page
 Engagement – Reaching out to clients, responding to clients and asking questions.
 Search Engines – For searching information on the web
 Optimization - the process of improving the visibility of a website in search engines.
 Long-Tail Keywords – Keywords that are more specific in nature. E.g. square one Mississauga
  real estate.
 Short-Tail Keywords – Keywords are usually short, generic words relating to a site or subject.
  E.g. Real Estate.
 Tagging – Including clients or other realtors in posts.

8 Step Guide to Creating Your
     Facebook Fan Page
• Visit www.facebook.com and Click on Create a
  page
• Choose the type of page you want to create
• Choose Your Business Category from the drop down menu.
• Fill out your Company’s information and click Get Started.
•   Fill out your email address and click Sign up Now. If you have a Facebook account already,
    it would link to the other account.

•   * A confirmation email would be sent to the email you provide to get started.
The link you click in the email notification would bring you to a page like this
• Upload an Image and begin optimizing your profile.
Notice the image has a list of all our products and a website address to visit.
• Fill out your
  company’s
  information and
  optimize.
Optimize
• Optimize your page to reflect your business.

• Use your long tail keywords as opposed to
  short tail keywords while optimizing. Ex
  “Square one Mississauga Real Estate agent”
• Invite Your Friends or Place ads on Facebook to get fans to
  Your page. Make sure to have your link on all your web-
  pages so you can obtain more fans.
Now What?
Managing Your Facebook Fan Page
• There are many products to manage Your Facebook Page. Most of them do
  not have the option to use it for free. Find what works best for your
  business.

• Tools
 Buddy Media – Manage Facebook presence, schedule posts, customize page look and feel.
 Vitrue – Moderates comments, targeted message to people who have liked your company
  and more.
 HootSuite – Manages multiple social media channels through one dashboard. If you have an
  assistant or a social media manager, this is a good tool because it allows you add contributors
  and there is both a free and paid version.
TAKE NOTE OF THESE TIPS
Marketing Tips
•   Optimize your Facebook fan page with keywords that are specifically for your business.
•   Claim your Facebook Fan Page Vanity URL. (e.g. www.facebook.com/smartagentnow )
•   Use Facebook Insights every week
•   Tag other users and business pages in posts
•   Connect your YouTube channel
•   Ask opinionated questions
•   Customize your posts (If your fans are in different cities and countries)
•   Add more page administrators (if you have people working for/with you)
•   Best times to post 11am, 3pm and 8pm
•   Best days to post Thursday and Friday (Do not neglect posts between Saturday and
    Wednesday they are equally effective)
Marketing Tips
•   Your Facebook picture should contain contact information about your website and
    what you do.
•   Do not delete negative comments; it’s how you respond to them that will gain the
    trust of your fans.
•   Always add description to links, videos and photos you post.
•   Always respond to people who reply you.
•   Add your Facebook like box to your website
•   When commenting on blogs, leave your Facebook link at the end of the comment.
•   Post between 2-5 times a day
•   Shorter characters are more visible on your client’s newsfeed. 80 characters is the
    suggested amount.
•   Photos and videos get more engagement.
•   Post often manually as opposed to third party devices.
•   Remember Facebook fans don’t buy homes, human beings do. This is why
    engagement is important. Creating the fan page is only the first step.

Webinar Terms  Profile page – Personal Profile Page  Fan page – Business Page  Vanity URL – Unique URL for your Business page  Engagement – Reaching out to clients, responding to clients and asking questions.  Search Engines – For searching information on the web  Optimization - the process of improving the visibility of a website in search engines.  Long-Tail Keywords – Keywords that are more specific in nature. E.g. square one Mississauga real estate.  Short-Tail Keywords – Keywords are usually short, generic words relating to a site or subject. E.g. Real Estate.  Tagging – Including clients or other realtors in posts.

  • 10. • Visit www.facebook.com and Click on Create a page
  • 11. • Choose the type of page you want to create
  • 12. • Choose Your Business Category from the drop down menu.
  • 13. • Fill out your Company’s information and click Get Started.
  • 14. Fill out your email address and click Sign up Now. If you have a Facebook account already, it would link to the other account. • * A confirmation email would be sent to the email you provide to get started.

  • 20. Optimize • Optimize your page to reflect your business. • Use your long tail keywords as opposed to short tail keywords while optimizing. Ex “Square one Mississauga Real Estate agent”
  • 21. • Invite Your Friends or Place ads on Facebook to get fans to Your page. Make sure to have your link on all your web- pages so you can obtain more fans.
  • 23. Managing Your Facebook Fan Page • There are many products to manage Your Facebook Page. Most of them do not have the option to use it for free. Find what works best for your business. • Tools  Buddy Media – Manage Facebook presence, schedule posts, customize page look and feel.  Vitrue – Moderates comments, targeted message to people who have liked your company and more.  HootSuite – Manages multiple social media channels through one dashboard. If you have an assistant or a social media manager, this is a good tool because it allows you add contributors and there is both a free and paid version.

  • 25. Marketing Tips • Optimize your Facebook fan page with keywords that are specifically for your business. • Claim your Facebook Fan Page Vanity URL. (e.g. www.facebook.com/smartagentnow ) • Use Facebook Insights every week • Tag other users and business pages in posts • Connect your YouTube channel • Ask opinionated questions • Customize your posts (If your fans are in different cities and countries) • Add more page administrators (if you have people working for/with you) • Best times to post 11am, 3pm and 8pm • Best days to post Thursday and Friday (Do not neglect posts between Saturday and Wednesday they are equally effective)

Marketing Tips • Your Facebook picture should contain contact information about your website and what you do. • Do not delete negative comments; it’s how you respond to them that will gain the trust of your fans. • Always add description to links, videos and photos you post. • Always respond to people who reply you. • Add your Facebook like box to your website • When commenting on blogs, leave your Facebook link at the end of the comment. • Post between 2-5 times a day • Shorter characters are more visible on your client’s newsfeed. 80 characters is the suggested amount. • Photos and videos get more engagement. • Post often manually as opposed to third party devices. • Remember Facebook fans don’t buy homes, human beings do. This is why engagement is important. Creating the fan page is only the first step.
