 sejajar dengan perkembangan ICT masa kini
    PSS kini bukan hanya terdiri daripada bahan cetak
     semata-mata malah merangkumi bahan berbentuk
     elektonik atau digital
 Program dan halatuju PSS tidak boleh lari daripada
 dua dokumen berikut:

PSS sebagai Pusat Akses Maklumat

   The school library provides information and ideas that are
    fundamental to functioning successfully in today's
    information and knowledge-based society. The school
    library equips students with life-long learning skills and
    develops the imagination, enabling them to live as
    responsible citizens.
Dasar PSS
 PENGENALAN
    Bahagian Teknologi Pendidikan (BTP)
     bertanggungjawab sepenuhnya dalam pembangunan
     Pusat Sumber Sekolah. Pusat Sumber Sekolah
     merupakan pusat mengakses maklumat mengandungi
     pelbagai sumber cetak dan bukan cetak, elektronik dan
     digital yang diurus secara sistematik bagi meningkatkan
     kualiti pengajaran dan pembelajaran.
    Pengurusan Pusat Sumber Sekolah merangkumi elemen
     perolehan dan pemerosesan
     bahan, perkhidmatan, pengesanan dan
     pendokumentasian sesuai dengan kemajuan teknologi
     maklumat masa kini.

 PERNYATAAN DASAR
    Dasar Pengurusan Pusat Sumber Sekolah diwujudkan
     untuk memastikan Pusat Sumber Sekolah mempunyai
     koleksi yang menepati piawai dan terkini, diurus dengan
     cekap dan berkesan, dan digunakan secara optimum
     bagi meningkatkan kualiti pengajaran dan pembelajaran
     dalam usaha melahirkan rakyat Malaysia yang
     bermaklumat dan bertanggungjawab.
Dasar PSS
 STRATEGI PELAKSANAAN
    Memastikan Pusat Sumber Sekolah mempunyai kemudahan fizikal
     dan infrastruktur yang sesuai dan memenuhi fungsi dan
     peranannya.
    Memastikan Pusat Sumber Sekolah mempunyai koleksi bahan yang
     menepati piawai dan terkini.
    Memastikan Pusat Sumber Sekolah diuruskan dengan cekap dan
     berkesan sesuai dengan kemajuan teknologi maklumat masa kini.
    Memastikan Pusat Sumber Sekolah menguruskan program galakan
     membaca dan literasi maklumat dengan cekap dan berkesan.
    Memastikan Pusat Sumber Sekolah diuruskan oleh Guru
     Perpustakaan dan Media yang menepati syarat dan kriteria yang
     ditetapkan dalam pekeliling semasa.
    Memastikan Pusat Sumber Sekolah sentiasa meningkatkan usaha
     untuk menambahbaik kualiti pengurusan dan perkhidmatan bagi
     memenuhi fungsi dan peranannya.
Konsep PSS
 Pusat Sumber Sekolah (PSS) merupakan pusat
 perkhidmatan akses maklumat bersepadu yang
 mengandungi pelbagai sumber pendidikan dalam
 bentuk bahan cetak, bukan cetak dan digital. PSS perlu
 diurus secara sistematik dan efisyen bagi tujuan
 memupuk tabiat membaca, literasi maklumat dan
 pembelajaran sepanjang hayat selaras dengan aspirasi
 Falsafah Pendidikan Kebangsaan.
Visi

•Melahirkan masyarakat Malaysia yang
berilmu, beretika, mengamalkan
pembelajaran sepanjang hayat, membuat
keputusan berasaskan ilmu pengetahuan dan
menyumbang ke arah pembangunan negara.
Misi

•Menyediakan maklumat bagi membolehkan
warga sekolah berfungsi secara berkesan dalam
masyarakat maju berasaskan maklumat dan
pengetahuan. PSS melengkapkan murid dengan
kemahiran pembelajaran sepanjang hayat untuk
hidup sebagai rakyat yang bertanggungjawab.
Objektif PSS
 Menyediakan perkhidmatan dan sumber pembelajaran
  dalam pelbagai format bagi membolehkan semua warga
  sekolah menjadi pengguna maklumat yang efektif dan
  pemikir yang kritis.
 Menyediakan perkhidmatan secara bertanggungjawab, adil
  dan saksama kepada semua warga sekolah.
 Meningkatkan tahap pencapaian murid dalam
  pembacaan, literasi maklumat, pembelajaran, penyelesaian
  masalah dan kemahiran Teknologi Maklumat dan
  Komunikasi (TMK).
 Melahirkan individu bestari yang mengamalkan
  pembelajaran sepanjang hayat.
Fungsi PSS
 Merancang dan mengurus perolehan bagi membina koleksi yang
    komprehensif, seimbang dan kemas kini yang selaras dengan
    keperluan kurikulum dan memenuhi keperluan warga sekolah.
   Menyediakan kemudahan dan perkhidmatan akses maklumat
    bagi kegunaan individu atau kumpulan.
   Memberi panduan dan kemahiran kepada warga sekolah
    berkaitan proses carian, penghasilan dan penggunaan maklumat.
   Menyediakan kemudahan, peralatan dan bahan supaya sentiasa
    dalam keadaan baik dan berfungsi.
   Menjalin perkongsian pintar dan rangkaian strategik dengan
    pelbagai agensi untuk meningkatkan kualiti perkhidmatan.

Hala Tuju PSS Malaysia  sejajar dengan perkembangan ICT masa kini  PSS kini bukan hanya terdiri daripada bahan cetak semata-mata malah merangkumi bahan berbentuk elektonik atau digital  Program dan halatuju PSS tidak boleh lari daripada dua dokumen berikut:  The School Library Manifesto: The school library in teaching and learning for all (IFLA/UNESCO 2000)  The IFLA/UNESCO School Library Guidelines (2002)

PSS sebagai Pusat Akses Maklumat  IFLA/UNESCO School Library Manifesto: The School Library in Teaching and Learning for All  The school library provides information and ideas that are fundamental to functioning successfully in today's information and knowledge-based society. The school library equips students with life-long learning skills and develops the imagination, enabling them to live as responsible citizens.
  • 12. Dasar PSS  PENGENALAN  Bahagian Teknologi Pendidikan (BTP) bertanggungjawab sepenuhnya dalam pembangunan Pusat Sumber Sekolah. Pusat Sumber Sekolah merupakan pusat mengakses maklumat mengandungi pelbagai sumber cetak dan bukan cetak, elektronik dan digital yang diurus secara sistematik bagi meningkatkan kualiti pengajaran dan pembelajaran.  Pengurusan Pusat Sumber Sekolah merangkumi elemen perolehan dan pemerosesan bahan, perkhidmatan, pengesanan dan pendokumentasian sesuai dengan kemajuan teknologi maklumat masa kini.

Dasar PSS  PERNYATAAN DASAR  Dasar Pengurusan Pusat Sumber Sekolah diwujudkan untuk memastikan Pusat Sumber Sekolah mempunyai koleksi yang menepati piawai dan terkini, diurus dengan cekap dan berkesan, dan digunakan secara optimum bagi meningkatkan kualiti pengajaran dan pembelajaran dalam usaha melahirkan rakyat Malaysia yang bermaklumat dan bertanggungjawab.

Dasar PSS  STRATEGI PELAKSANAAN  Memastikan Pusat Sumber Sekolah mempunyai kemudahan fizikal dan infrastruktur yang sesuai dan memenuhi fungsi dan peranannya.  Memastikan Pusat Sumber Sekolah mempunyai koleksi bahan yang menepati piawai dan terkini.  Memastikan Pusat Sumber Sekolah diuruskan dengan cekap dan berkesan sesuai dengan kemajuan teknologi maklumat masa kini.  Memastikan Pusat Sumber Sekolah menguruskan program galakan membaca dan literasi maklumat dengan cekap dan berkesan.  Memastikan Pusat Sumber Sekolah diuruskan oleh Guru Perpustakaan dan Media yang menepati syarat dan kriteria yang ditetapkan dalam pekeliling semasa.  Memastikan Pusat Sumber Sekolah sentiasa meningkatkan usaha untuk menambahbaik kualiti pengurusan dan perkhidmatan bagi memenuhi fungsi dan peranannya.
  • 15. Konsep PSS  Pusat Sumber Sekolah (PSS) merupakan pusat perkhidmatan akses maklumat bersepadu yang mengandungi pelbagai sumber pendidikan dalam bentuk bahan cetak, bukan cetak dan digital. PSS perlu diurus secara sistematik dan efisyen bagi tujuan memupuk tabiat membaca, literasi maklumat dan pembelajaran sepanjang hayat selaras dengan aspirasi Falsafah Pendidikan Kebangsaan.
  • 16. Visi •Melahirkan masyarakat Malaysia yang berilmu, beretika, mengamalkan pembelajaran sepanjang hayat, membuat keputusan berasaskan ilmu pengetahuan dan menyumbang ke arah pembangunan negara.
  • 17. Misi •Menyediakan maklumat bagi membolehkan warga sekolah berfungsi secara berkesan dalam masyarakat maju berasaskan maklumat dan pengetahuan. PSS melengkapkan murid dengan kemahiran pembelajaran sepanjang hayat untuk hidup sebagai rakyat yang bertanggungjawab.

Objektif PSS  Menyediakan perkhidmatan dan sumber pembelajaran dalam pelbagai format bagi membolehkan semua warga sekolah menjadi pengguna maklumat yang efektif dan pemikir yang kritis.  Menyediakan perkhidmatan secara bertanggungjawab, adil dan saksama kepada semua warga sekolah.  Meningkatkan tahap pencapaian murid dalam pembacaan, literasi maklumat, pembelajaran, penyelesaian masalah dan kemahiran Teknologi Maklumat dan Komunikasi (TMK).  Melahirkan individu bestari yang mengamalkan pembelajaran sepanjang hayat.

Fungsi PSS  Merancang dan mengurus perolehan bagi membina koleksi yang komprehensif, seimbang dan kemas kini yang selaras dengan keperluan kurikulum dan memenuhi keperluan warga sekolah.  Menyediakan kemudahan dan perkhidmatan akses maklumat bagi kegunaan individu atau kumpulan.  Memberi panduan dan kemahiran kepada warga sekolah berkaitan proses carian, penghasilan dan penggunaan maklumat.  Menyediakan kemudahan, peralatan dan bahan supaya sentiasa dalam keadaan baik dan berfungsi.  Menjalin perkongsian pintar dan rangkaian strategik dengan pelbagai agensi untuk meningkatkan kualiti perkhidmatan.
