2. THINK CAREFULLY!
Think about the resources your festival will need
to make a presence on Twitter work
Have you decided what the „Voice‟ of your festival
will be like?
Where will you use Twitter?
How often will you check your account?
Do you have support from your committee?
What will you use Twitter for?
Beware of the soapbox! This is your event/
festival not your personal account.
5. SIGN UP FOR A TWITTER ACCOUNT
Navigate to
Twitter.com and you‟ll
find a sign-up page
6. BEFORE YOU START, CHECK!
Full Name =
UserName you will be
called on Twitter e.g.
“LovelyFest” & can
only be 15 characters!
Email = the email you
use for your event
If you don‟t have an
email for your
event, may need to
create one?
7. FIRST STEPS
Think about your interests
What are your goals?
Set out your stall in your Twitter
Profile
Remember to have some fun!
13. 140 CHARACTERS – EXPRESS YOURSELF
Compose an all-text
first tweet, no links
Asking questions
encourages others to
respond
Don‟t worry about it,
everyone had to start
somewhere
14. WHERE CAN I GET HELP?
https://support.twitter.com/ - there is extensive
help text on the Twitter Help Center which
should answer many of your questions
https://support.twitter.com/groups/31-twitter-

which you‟ll need to get started
