(Students read the questions loudly and make notes for them in their chats)
2. T: Now let us compare and discuss your answers. Go into details and support your
answer with the examples from your personal experience.
For example:S1: As for me I think about it earlier and , of course, I try to use
public transport instead of a car in order to reduce pollution, turn off the light when
I leave my room and buy organic food , but I don’t controlthe way I use soap,
washing powder and other cosmetics or keep paper, glass or aluminium cans for
recycling. And what about you?
S2: As for me, I try to keep household waste to a minimum at home, reuse plastic
bags, keep paper, glass or aluminium cans for recycling, turn off the light when I
leave my room but my parents have a car, that’s why I prefer to travel with my
parents by car though it is bad for environment. And what about you?
S3, S4……………..etc.
T: O.K! You refresh your knowledge and demonstrate your attitude to
environmental and ecological problems. The topic of our lesson is “Environment
and Ecology”, the motto of our lesson is “Nature has its rights and we must respect
them” and by the end of the lesson you should be able:
- to extend your active vocabulary and talk about the ways to save the
environment and ecology;
- to write a little ecce about environmental problems;
- check your listening skills;
- check how green are you.
II. Main part
3.Reading
T: Nowadays environmental problems are the most burning for the society. Air,
water, land and nuclear pollution have badly damaged the nature. People all over
the world are worried about what is happening to the environment. Newspapers
and magazines write about different kinds of pollutions. They write that the Earth
is our home and all people must take care of it. Now let us read and complete a
letter from the Internet blog with the words from the box (Ex.3p.82).
grow, change, vegetation, waste, animal, planet, hands, plant, reduce, human
beings,
carbon dioxide(x2)
In order to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide, we should increase the planet
cover. The bestmethod is to plant and influence everybody in a society to plant
trillions of trees.
Climate change is a threat to survival of all animal and vegetation. This change is
synonymous to increasing levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. By planting
trees we are doing the opposite. These trees absorb carbondioxide and store it.
Plenty of carbondioxide also makes trees grow fast. We shouldn’t waste time but
act as fast as possible. The time to act is now but not tomorrow. So let us join
hands together and make the change come true – planting trillions of trees for
human beings
By doing so we shall have a happy future.
T:Let’s check the task and correctmistakes, if they are.
(checking)
3. T: Say what blog suggests doing to save environment?
(students’ answers)
4 Listening
T: Now we will watch and do ecological quiz. You should answer to its questions.
Do the quiz ecological problems and think what can we do to change our life.
(Students answer the questions)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M-CbS2h7Ly0
T: Did you like the quiz? Were the questions interesting for you?
(students answers)
T: Are you tired?
Cl: Yes, a little.
T: O.K, let’s have short rest (physical pause).
5. Communicativeactivity.
T: You are taking part in the conference devoted to the environmental problems.
You have learnt a lot of information on this topic and you have a chance to share
your knowledge with others. Let’s create three groups which then introduce their
point of view to the problem .
Group 1: We have spent thousands of years fighting for our survival. Yet now we
have discovered that our planet is under threat and it is our entire fault.
Fortunately, it’s not too late to solve these problems. We have the time, the money
and the technologies to prepare the way for a better, cleaner and safer future……..
Group 2: To solve the ecological problems we would suggest the following
measures. First of all, government should improve public transport system to
reduce the number of cars in the street. Second, people should get involved in
recycling schemes. There will be less rubbish to pollute the environment and the
streets will be cleaner and safer………
4. Group 3: There are a number of simple things we can do if we want to save our
planet. Government can improve public transport so that people have no need to
use their cars so much. We can create parks for endangered species. But the most
important thing we must do is to open our eyes and act immediately……….
III. Reflexion
6.Writing
T: Now take your pens and open your exercise books. We have to write a shot ecce
about the urgent environmental problems in our town and the ways how to change
them.
(students are writing the ecceand then reading them to class)
It’s a pity our lesson is over and I’d like that you express your own point of view
about our lesson. On the blackboard there are some expressions which help you to
form your opinion.
(Students express your opinion about the lesson)
I think the lesson was (interesting, boring, and useful).
I have extended my active vocabulary and now can talk about the ways to save the
environment and ecology.
I have learnt how to write an ecce about environmental problems.
I have checked how green I am………….
Summary of the lesson. Home task.
