Vital role managers play in implementing strategies to achieve an organizational
mission or goal
Managers’ work is fast paced and requires great energy. A role is a set of expectations
for a manager’s behavior. These roles are divided into three conceptual categories;
informational, interpersonal and the decisional. Each role represents activities that
managers undertake to ultimately accomplish the functions of planning, organizing,
leading and controlling. Although it is necessary to separate the components of the
managers’ job to understand the different roles and activities of a manager, it is
important to remember that the real job of management cannot be practiced as a set of
independent parts, all the roles interact in the real world of management. As Mintzberg
says, “ The manager who only communicates or only communicates or only conceives
never gets anything done, while the manager who only “does” ends up doing it all
alone.”
, MICHAEL REDMON Informational roles describe the activities used to maintain and
develop an informational network. General Manager spends about 75 percent of their
time talking to other people. Managers’ use monitor role in seeking current information
from many sources. Disseminator and spokesperson role are just the opposite, the
manager transmits current information to others, both inside and outside the
organization who can use it. With the trend toward empowerment of lower level
employees. Many managers are sharing as much information as possible. In addition,
Waldron, J. Vsanthakumar, and S. Arulraj stated that informational roles link all
managerial work together. She also stated that monitor role which is one component of
informational roles is the sifting, sorting and selecting information, the Disseminator role
define as the passing of relevant information to the subordinates and lastly the
spokesperson which has a right message at the right time. Informational roles is not that
easy, it needs a wide range of thinking and have the patient to deliver information to the
other.Being a manager is a very big achievement but it takes a lot of responsibility and
sacrifices.
Bill Dann define Interpersonal role as a role includes the way you be good to all, the
lead role in that an employee take, motivating people, act as a bridge between the top
management and others, approach to all problems. With the research of Carlos Serra
Interpersonal roles pertain to relationship with others and are related to the human
skills. It is divided in 3 roles, the figurehead roles which involve handling ceremonial and
symbolic activities for the department or organization. The leader role which
encompasses relationship with the subordinates including motivation, communication
and influence and the liaisons role which pertains to the development of information
sources both inside and outside the organization. Interpersonal roles are the key in
order to achieve tight relationship to the others. Through this roles managers as long as
other workers will able to aim with the same goal. It enhances human skills and art of
getting friends in a new environment.
Ywam Wollongong stated that Decisional roles pertain to those events about which the
manager must make a choice and take action. These roles often require conceptual as
well as human skills. This role consists entrepreneur, disturbance handler, resource
allocator and negotiator. Entrepreneur role involves the initiation of change.

Managers are constantly thinking about the future and how to get there. The
disturbance handler role involves resolving conflicts among subordinates or between
the managers’ department and other departments. The resource allocator roles pertains
to decisions about how to allocate people, time, equipment , budget and other
resources to attain desired outcomes and the negotiator role involves formal
negotiations and bargaining to attain outcomes for the managers’ unit of responsibility.
STRATEGY FORMULATION, Decisional role involve around making choices. The
resource allocator distributing budget resources, preventing the loss of human or capital
resources while the entrepreneur focus on opportunities identify, innovate and value
creation and the disturbance handler can be form of strike by employees, shortage of
raw materials, employee complaints, grievances, natural disasters and lastly the
negotiator negotiates with various interest. Decisional role is a very heavy duty of the
manager; it takes a lot of time before deciding to do what’s good for the company.
As a whole, Manager plays an important role in implementing and deciding for the
company’s goal. As a manager, we need to initiate and encourage change and
innovation, we never have enough time, money and so on so we need to set priorities
about the use of resources and we to care about the happening around us especially
those unforeseen problems that required to be fixed and lastly we must work with others
inside and outside the organization to accomplish goals.

  • 1. Vital role managers play in implementing strategies to achieve an organizational mission or goal Managers’ work is fast paced and requires great energy. A role is a set of expectations for a manager’s behavior. These roles are divided into three conceptual categories; informational, interpersonal and the decisional. Each role represents activities that managers undertake to ultimately accomplish the functions of planning, organizing, leading and controlling. Although it is necessary to separate the components of the managers’ job to understand the different roles and activities of a manager, it is important to remember that the real job of management cannot be practiced as a set of independent parts, all the roles interact in the real world of management. As Mintzberg says, “ The manager who only communicates or only communicates or only conceives never gets anything done, while the manager who only “does” ends up doing it all alone.” , MICHAEL REDMON Informational roles describe the activities used to maintain and develop an informational network. General Manager spends about 75 percent of their time talking to other people. Managers’ use monitor role in seeking current information from many sources. Disseminator and spokesperson role are just the opposite, the manager transmits current information to others, both inside and outside the organization who can use it. With the trend toward empowerment of lower level employees. Many managers are sharing as much information as possible. In addition, Waldron, J. Vsanthakumar, and S. Arulraj stated that informational roles link all managerial work together. Informational roles is not that easy, it needs a wide range of thinking and have the patient to deliver information to the other.Being a manager is a very big achievement but it takes a lot of responsibility and sacrifices.

Bill Dann define Interpersonal role as a role includes the way you be good to all, the lead role in that an employee take, motivating people, act as a bridge between the top management and others, approach to all problems. With the research of Carlos Serra Interpersonal roles pertain to relationship with others and are related to the human skills. It is divided in 3 roles, the figurehead roles which involve handling ceremonial and symbolic activities for the department or organization. The leader role which encompasses relationship with the subordinates including motivation, communication and influence and the liaisons role which pertains to the development of information sources both inside and outside the organization. Interpersonal roles are the key in order to achieve tight relationship to the others. Through this roles managers as long as other workers will able to aim with the same goal. It enhances human skills and art of getting friends in a new environment. Ywam Wollongong stated that Decisional roles pertain to those events about which the manager must make a choice and take action. These roles often require conceptual as well as human skills. This role consists entrepreneur, disturbance handler, resource allocator and negotiator. Entrepreneur role involves the initiation of change. Sujit Das Managers are constantly thinking about the future and how to get there. The disturbance handler role involves resolving conflicts among subordinates or between the managers’ department and other departments. The resource allocator roles pertains to decisions about how to allocate people, time, equipment , budget and other resources to attain desired outcomes and the negotiator role involves formal negotiations and bargaining to attain outcomes for the managers’ unit of responsibility. STRATEGY FORMULATION, Decisional role involve around making choices. The resource allocator distributing budget resources, preventing the loss of human or capital resources while the entrepreneur focus on opportunities identify, innovate and value creation and the disturbance handler can be form of strike by employees, shortage of raw materials, employee complaints, grievances, natural disasters and lastly the negotiator negotiates with various interest. Decisional role is a very heavy duty of the manager; it takes a lot of time before deciding to do what’s good for the company.
  • 3. As a whole, Manager plays an important role in implementing and deciding for the company’s goal. As a manager, we need to initiate and encourage change and innovation, we never have enough time, money and so on so we need to set priorities about the use of resources and we to care about the happening around us especially those unforeseen problems that required to be fixed and lastly we must work with others inside and outside the organization to accomplish goals.
