Managers play a vital role in implementing strategies to achieve organizational goals. Their roles can be divided into three categories: informational, interpersonal, and decisional. Informational roles involve maintaining and sharing information networks. Interpersonal roles pertain to relationships and include figurehead, leader, and liaison activities. Decisional roles require managers to make choices and allocate resources as entrepreneur, disturbance handler, and negotiator. As a whole, managers must initiate change, set priorities, address problems, and work with others to accomplish goals through these various roles.
