Pros And Cons Of Harry Parr
Gas or Electricity Forward looking and keen to acquire one of the new electric fired kilns, Harry Parr
often discussed with Charles Vyse the pros and cons of kiln firing. Vyse was of the opinion that gas
was best, and Parr was one of the first potters to bring electricity to the Cheyne Row studios. Vyse
however, continued to fire his figures using the gas fuelled kiln he had acquired when Bertha White
became his assistant in 1919. From 1920, Vyse and Parr consistently showed their work at the Royal
Academy. Parr organised one or two Christmas shows at his studio, but most of his work he sold
through James Connell of Bond Street. His figures retailed at 25 guineas with Parr receiving his just
portion of the selling price. Unlike Vyse, who by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At Charles Noke s invitation, Leslie Harradine had designed the figure HN479 Balloon Seller,
sometimes referred to as the Balloon Woman. Harradine, consummate artist that he was, could not in
good faith model a facsimile of the Vyse original, and an unacceptable practice and against the law of
industrial plagiarism. The Harradine figure may be c0nstrued the amalgamation of two Vyse designs,
the Balloon Woman of 1920, and the current design, Tulip Woman, 1921. It is conceivable that
Harradine took the essential elements from both designs by Vyse, and amalgamated them into a new
and cohesive whole, cleverly modelling a vendor figure of which the Doulton studio wholeheartedly
approved. The first version of Doultons HN479 Balloon Seller had a Black shawl and grey dress with
white spots, withdrawn in 1938 (Fig. 35a). A additional version HN486 had a blue dress, but was
modelled without a black hat, this too was withdrawn by 1938. The version numbered HN548,
introduced in 1922, had a black shawl and blue dress, also withdrawn by 1938. The Doulton figure
illustrated with green shawl and cream dress (Fig. 35b), and numbered HN583, introduced in 1932,
withdrawn by 1949. Finally, Doulton introduced a further version HN697 Balloon Seller in 1925,
decorated with a striped red shawl and blue dress, and by 1938, it too has since been

Ronald Reagan Racialization
Nevertheless, Nixon s attempt to foist ideas of drug use and immorality onto his political opponents,
including minorities was not especially successful as a racial project. Indeed, as indicated by polling
around the rise of Ronald Reagan, Americans did not see drugs and crime as central issues around
which the presidency should revolve (Citation). President Ronald Reagan who reaped the harvest of
Nixon s seeds of racialization, summoning power from The War on Drugs that Nixon left unrealized

Moreover, the fact that it comes from one of Reagan s closest advisers clearly shows even if the racial
project were not ubiquitous, the sentiment and strategy surrounding this racial project informed the
President s decision making. With whites disproportionately represented in the electorate, Reagan and
his advisors only had to appeal to the white majority, directly and proportionately at the expense of the
black minority. But, because the number of white Christian evangelical Americans is shrinking, it
would follow that these racial projects diminish in power as the hegemonic demographic loses its
majority. Indeed, Paul Roberts 2016 Book The End of White Christian America describes how these
racial projects and unifications are losing power based on demographic shifts in the population of
America. SOME STATISTIC AS TO HOW XTIANITY IS SHRINKING RAPIDLY. It would,

The Human Rights and Ethical Dilemmas Facing Marketing...
The Human Rights and Ethical Dilemmas Facing Marketing Research in an Ever Expanding Business
Market
What is ethical and unethical when it comes to information gathering on a group of people or an
individual? This is a question that has been debated and pondered over for many years. As social
mediums, technology, and social and economic statuses change at rates that have never been seen on
this type of global scale in human history it can be hard to tell. I will delve into situations and
dilemmas that marketers find themselves in, on a day to day basis when doing research. Before we can
go into the ethical and philosophical questions of your everyday marketer we first have to come to
understand of what marketing ethics are. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Anheuser Busch hired individuals that were looked at as trend setters, to go into popular bars in major
metropolitan areas in the United States and buy Bud Select. This is when Anheuser Busch was just
introducing Bud Select. This is where the dilemma comes in, was Anheuser Busch doing anything
wrong in hiring people to buy their own product in public outings? This was a way for them to push
their product. For: Anheuser Busch was not breaking the law. There is no rule saying you can t hire
people to buy your own product and then showcase it to other individuals. Against: By hiring
individuals that are looked at as trend setters to push a new product in a public atmosphere, a bar or
club, without the public knowledge can be looked at as misleading and shady The question you have
to ask yourself when doing marketing research is where is line. In this situation Anheuser Busch was
using techniques that can be looked at as unethical, but at the same time Anheuser Busch is a company
that has a bottom line, and share holders to keep happy. Sometimes, employees are passive
respondents to observational research. An example of this would be by a company using a mystery

Human Cloning Is Not More Difficult Than Cloning
Human cloning involves removing the nucleus of a human egg and replacing it with the nucleus of an
existing person (Glannon, p. 89). It is the genetic duplication of an existing person (CGS). Identical
twins are a naturally occurring cloning (Science Daily). Several countries worldwide have bans on
human cloning (Kilner). The U.S. government has cut funding for cloning research (Kilner).
Arguments in favor of human cloning point out the benefits of advancing technology, while those
against question the effect it has on human dignity and even the clone itself.
Although the clone has the DNA of the donor, the clone will have epigenetic effects. Epigenetic
disturbances refer to the altered physical structures of the DNA, but not the DNA sequence itself
(Epigenetics). Cloning technology has produced clones of several mammals, including sheep, mice,
goats, and horses (AMA). Cloning humans is technically more difficult than cloning other mammals
(Cloning Fact Sheet). The process is still extremely inefficient and rarely produces viable cells. Those
usable cells are unlikely to survive until birth (AMA). So far, animal cloning research has caused
death and deformities of the clone (Kilner). Dolly, a cloned sheep, aged rapidly and had to be
euthanized at six years old (Glannon, p91). We can assume that human cloning will also have a dismal
failure rate (AMA). It would be considered unethical to attempt to produce human clones due to the
potential physical harm to the cloned child

Reviewing The Contract With Marshall
In examining the contract with Marshall there are a number of factors to consider. I would have to
examine all of the professional, legal, and spiritual implications of deciding to part ways with doing
business with his store. Marshall was an intricate part of getting the grapes initial recognition and the
impending financial success may not have been possible without his willingness to promote the grapes
in his store. Without taking the proper steps to rectify this situation in a peaceful manner, I might
experience a backlash depending on Marshall s potential decision to bring this issue before the court
of public opinion. The interest in my products might decrease depending on how he chose to spin his
story regarding our fallout ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Investopedia states: An implied contract is an agreement created by actions of the parties involved, but
it is not written or spoken. This is a contract assumed to have been drawn. In this case, there is no
written record nor any actual verbal agreement. (Investopedia, 2010) Under these terms, I would have
to determine what a fair interpretation of our implied contract would be and to what extent Marshall
should be compensated under those terms. I am under no legal obligation to continue to provide goods
and services and would instead insist on using a mutually agreed upon mediator to hash out a possible
financial settlement to compensate Marshall for his promotion of the product and find out whether or
not the new company that would purchase my product would be willing to offer Marshall a set rate
with their acquisition as a part of the sale. Marshall s Legal Defense In Marshall s defense I would
have to be prepared that he could use Promissory Estoppel as a legal defense should our case be
brought before a judge. If we are unwilling to come to an agreement the judge might enact this
particular method to award damages to Marshall based of our implied contract in good faith. In the
Seattle University Law Review it states: The function of the doctrine of promissory estoppel is, under
our view, defensive in that it estops a promisor

Chronic Migraines Essay
It s normal to experience headaches every now and then. However, frequent headaches that occur 15
days or more in a month could be a sign of a chronic headache. This is an umbrella term that
encompasses several types:
 Chronic Migraine
 Chronic tension type headache
 New daily persistent headache
 Hemicrania continua
Although similar in scope, these headaches have symptoms that differentiate themselves from one
another. Chronic migraines are the most common type of headache. This type often occurs in people
with a history of episodic migraines. The symptoms include a severe, throbbing pain that affects one
or both sides of the head. Light sensitivity, feelings of nausea and possibly vomiting are associated
with these symptoms.

gambling, and other addictive behaviour. These programs include needle exchanges, withdrawal
programmes, counselling and referral, home based programs, residential treatment services, support
groups, and programs specifically designed to meet the needs of special populations (ie, youth,
correctional clients, intravenous drug users, women, homeless people, and particular ethnic groups
within the community). The term homelessness has been subject to contested and nuanced
interpretations and defining criteria. With nearly 1,000 individual Salvation Army social program
activities and services operating through dozens of service hubs, networks and activity centres across
Australia, criteria was developed to identify homelessness services for inclusion in this research. The
Salvation Army is one of the world s largest Christian social welfare organisations with more than

Brain Acquired Brain Injury
The brain is vital to the functioning of every human being. After studying the brain for a whole
semester, it made me realize how important it is to keep the brain health and protected. God made
human being very complex, and trying to understand how each organ relates to each other has been a
challenge for anyone in the medical field. Each year, new techniques are discovered as to what, where
and how the human brain operates. There are discoveries made in the medical field everyday that were
not known before. The brain is the part of the central nervous system that encompasses the cranium

The brain is a mass of soft, spongy, pinkish gray nerve tissue that is estimated to weigh about 2.65
pounds or 1.2 kg in an adult human being. (Farlex, 2018) Billions of nerve cells are what the brain is
made of, each being intricately connected to one another. The connection to the body is by way of the
spinal cord which is also a part of the central nervous system. The brain comprises the nerve centers,
which control many involuntary functions, such as circulation, temperature regulation, and respiration,
and interpret sensory impressions received from the eyes, ears, and other sense organs. (Farlex, 2018)
It also includes consciousness, emotion, thought, and reasoning, and the area for associative memory
which allows the individual to recall past events. The cerebrum is an outer coating or medically called
the cerebral cortex. This consists of gray matter that is several layers deep and is the largest portion of
the brain, receiving information on the conscious movement of the body. The temporal lobe is a center

Lyme Disease Assignment
For this assignment, I interviewed a close friend, Dana Rivard. Dana is also a first year student; she is
from Massachusetts and majoring in Health Sciences. In a friendly conversation, a few weeks ago she
mentioned having Lyme disease. I grew up in a rural part of Indiana so my childhood consisted of
playing outside almost everyday. My front yard is full of trees, and because I live in a very forested
area right across from a corn field, these trees often have ticks. My parents always warned us to be
cautious of ticks by using insect repellant and making sure we were wearing long clothing if we were
going to be close to the trees. Our dogs would often get a tick here or there that my parents would
have to pull off, but only once or twice do I remember one of my siblings or cousins getting a tick on
them. My parents and grandparents always warned us about Lyme disease, because it was such a
prevalent topic in Indiana. As a child, it seemed as if my parents were overreacting, which is why it
was so interesting to see that Dana had gotten Lyme disease.
According to the CDC, Lyme disease is caused by the bacterium Borrelia burgdorferi and is
transmitted to humans through the bite of infected blacklegged ticks. Typical symptoms include fever,
headache, fatigue, and a characteristic skin rash called erythema migrans. Lyme ... Show more content

How Spirited Away, The Emperor And The Assassin, And...
Three different movies set in three different times, yet they are united by one theme that is history.
This analysis will focus on how Spirited Away, The Emperor and the Assassin, and Journey to the
West: Conquering the Demons are part of a modern and ancient history that are still practiced today.
Even though these movies are a mixture of legends, fictions, and facts we can still appreciate the
meaning behind each story. Furthermore, this analysis will enhance East Asian s historical meaning.

In the film, we also observed that bowing is an important part of Japanese tradition. Kids learned to
bow from a very young age and they are taught the different kinds of bows. In Chihiro, we see that her
bowing varies according to the person she is meeting. For instance, when she meets Kamaji, Zeniba
and Yubaba her bows are deep and long. On the other hand, her bows towards No face and the stick
lamp are shorter and less deep. In this film, we can appreciate the references made for new generations
to appreciate and respect the culture they learned from years. Even though this illustrated film shows
fictional characters we can see how it connects to modern Japan. The historical aspect of Japanese
people is starting to fade like in the ending of the movie when Haku learned by Chihiro that where he
used to live people destroy the river to construct apartment. Many of this Japanese tradition is being
lost, according to Rachel Tackett in an online article, spring of 2008 that number dropped to a mere
4,343, and it continues to decrease at a rate of almost one a day. There simply aren t enough customers
to support the industry, not to mention that there are few young people prepared to take over the
business if traditions are lost and we are becoming a more globalized world how can we differentiate
one from another.

Raybeck describes several adventures and misadventures involving field research in his account of the

There are many instances throughout the ethnography when the writer appears to be going through
culture shock, and the impact of the culture he is studying on him becomes evident. For instance, thed
Kelantanese disregard and even contempt of the concept of privacy is something that takes him and
his wife some getting used to. Similarly, the ethnographer is confused when their dressing in
traditional garb is interpreted as him and his wife s willingness to convert to Islam. There are other
times through his stay when he is expected to take a stand on political and ethical matters, and he finds
himself struggling to maintain neutrality yet not earn the contempt of the villagers.
Raybeck encountered numerous ethical issues, including but not limited to prostitution, murder, and
smuggling. As before, the writer tried his very best to adopt a neutral stand, and participate only
minimally and if asked to by the parties involved. Raybeck quickly learns that one s actions in such
matters are what are used to gage one s loyalty to a specific group or individual within the community.

Salaries for general managers can be in the six figure range, according to Wensing from
$150,000 to $200,000, by some accounts (Ruiz 2006). This sounds like the perfect place to work but
there is always room for improvement to make sure that the employees are able to keep an open flow
of communication not only with each other but with other franchises and corporate. This way, if there
are any concerns within a particular field that can t be settled by management alone, they can be
addressed by cooperate. After all, it was the vice president of performance and development, Chuck

My recommendation for this would be to hold quarterly and annual events that allow the executives to
mingle with the employees so that they may hear their thoughts and opinions in person. It would allow
for idea sharing between franchises and offer more training that can lead to higher pay or recognition.
This would also help to bolster employee morale and overall performance.

Depression And Public Health Essay
Introduction
There are many significant public health issues affecting our youth in today s society. According to the

The World Health Organization has predicted that by the year 2020, one of the largest disease burdens

impact on quality of life. Therefore, more research is necessary to determine what factors can reduce
teen depressive rates. (Mammen and Falkner, 2013). Depression is a misunderstood disease. It is more

healthy adolescents, researchers measured vitamin D levels of 307 adolescents aged 11 18 years to test

seventy four patients (24.1%) were vitamin D deficient, of whom 14 (4.6%) were severely vitamin D

even healthy adolescents who are not experiencing depressive disorders are experiencing vitamin D

The African American And Hispanic Community Essay
Yes I do feel that the efforts to gain equal rights and right for traditionally excluded people are still
incomplete. Society is still suffering from the after effects of slavery. Although, we as a society are
looked at as all human beings with the same life value, it is not that simple. The efforts for everyone to
be equal has made a tremendous improvement it still has not made enough to say that we are all equal
in society. The African American community and Hispanic community are very inferior to the
Caucasian community. Society has made it very clear about how they feel about the African American
and Hispanic community. The media, television, education are very stereotypical on the inferior

Organizational Redesign Essay
Organizational redesign is a process that every business will have to perform to maintain or increase
their efficiency or to maintain their competitive level with their peers. Unfortunately, most employees
will view redesign as a threat to the norm or maybe even their jobs. On the other hand, other
stakeholders will find that it is a necessity due to the ever changing outside influences such as
advances in technology and internal changes such as a paradigm shift. Ummel (1994) states that
redesign is not the same as reorganization or restructuring which are typically motivated by financial
recovery plans (Ummel, 1994). Organizational redesign is an open, creative effort to further integrate
itself by simplifying and altering its shape (Ummel, 1994). One of the best ways for employees to
protect themselves from any negative actions such as a layoff or reduction in force is to know which
transferrable skills are required or looked upon as favorable by the employer. The more transferrable
skills an employee possesses, the more attractive they will appear to management. To add, if by the
unfortunate chance that a person becomes unemployed, their skills will assist in them obtaining new
employment.
We are all born with skills we take from job to job (Issacs, 2017). There are several categories of
transferrable skills that will best assist in organizational redesign. Transferrable skills can be
categorized as:
1. Technical
2. Communication
3. Client Customer

Affects That Are Harming The Crops Of Crops And The...
This paper will analyze the affects that are harming the agricultural system in Kenya, Africa. There are
numerous problems that could be taken into account for the lack of production in Kenya s agricultural
system. This paper will highlight four main issues that harm the development of Kenya s agricultural
system. These four main problems are leading factors that destroys the growth of crops and the
success of harvest seasons. The first main point that will be analyzed in this paper is climate change
which is the leading cause of bad crop seasons in Kenya. The next variable to be analyzed is the lack
of infrastructure in Kenya s geographical makeup. The third variable to be analyzed on the failure of
Kenya s agricultural system is pesticides and disease. The finally elements that leads to the harm on
crop production in Kenya is soil nutrient deterioration. These are just a few of the cause that harms the
development of Kenya Africa s agricultural system.
On the one hand, some people know the weather in Africa is that of a pretty dry climate. This is a bad
combination when attempting to grow things that are not meant to be grown in hot dry climates. Many
foods and other resources need moisture and water to grow and survive. The effect of climate change
has directly affected farmer s the changing and unpredictable raining seasons has greatly affected their
ability to plan their farming activities (Kibet par 5). The inconsistency in rain and natural temperature

Equality In The New Civil Rights
The world is composed of many people, all with different histories, which create various perspectives
within a society and culture. People who conform to a general idea generate a society, and the change
of ideologies over time in one area is a culture. Thankfully, the diversity available in highly populated
locations allows for individuals to develop in ways that contrast from each other, enabling
controversial conversations to shape the atmosphere in which they inhabit. The variety of opinions can
create struggles for people who are considered inferior, especially in how they treat themselves in their
environment. In Kenji Yoshino s The New Civil Rights, he explores the consequences of having

There are many impediments in which self expression is caged, and there is a great sense of
discomfort. The intensities of such feelings depend on the atmospheres of each location, which an
individual dwells. One being can change over a short period of time, but that does not necessarily
mean that society and the culture will embrace a different person. In stages, the world can become a
more accepting place, but this can only occur as environments merge and gain experience of the
unknown. In the case of minority groups, variety, and contrasting opinions, nothing is necessarily
stable. At the same time, this does not mean that assimilation is the ultimate answer; without
modifications, civilization cannot advance. Altering standards is just what humanity

Vanity Exposed in Vanity Fair Essay
Vanity Exposed in Vanity Fair
The title Thackeray chose for his novel Vanity Fair is taken from The Pilgrim´s Progress by John
Bunyan. In Bunyan´s book, one of the places Christian passes through on his pilgrimage to the
Celestial City is Vanity Fair, where it is possible to buy all sorts of vanities. A very sad thing happens
there: the allegorical person Faithful is killed by the people. In the novel Vanity Fair Thackeray writes
about the title he has chosen: But my kind reader will please to remember that this history has Vanity

She is well aware of the sort of person she is: I´m no angel (11). As soon as she is out of school she
starts scheming to find a husband above her station, since her ambition is to advance in society.
Having failed to win the hand of Joseph Sedley, she marries Rawdon Crawley, thinking he will inherit
a lot of money from his aunt. Instead they both fall out of favour, and Becky has to use her wits.
Throughout the novel she is the one who charms people, and who is held in high esteem by the upper
class in which she yearns to belong . The word vanity suits Becky well; she seems to care for no one,
not even her friends, and she neglects her own son. A very hard judgement is passed on her by Lady
Jane: She has deceived her husband, as she has deceived everybody; her soul is black with vanity,
worldliness, and all sorts of crime (752). When Rawdon leaves her it becomes harder for her to retain
her reputation. When she notices that people avoid her she works hard to be regarded as respectable.
She is not used to a life where she is not surrounded by admirers, and she is bored. She makes Joseph
Sedley listen to her lamentations on how she has been trampled on. He believes her and is made very
unhappy. Becky is suspected of being responsible for his death. Becky´s life is full of scandal, and all
her scheming and striving for wealth and honour come to nothing: she has struggled in vain. Her

Taking a Look at Mental Illnesses
Mental illnesses are a serious matter that affect a person as much as someone with a physical illness.
Mental illnesses are medical conditions that affect a person s mental health. They are as serious as
other disorders such as diabetes and should be treated as so. The amount of talk by those who aren t
well informed and often assume has created many misconceptions about mental illnesses. In order to
successfully make those around people with mental illnesses to be aware of the harm these disorders
cause a person these misconceptions need to be cleared. Mental illnesses need to be treated like the
threat they indeed are like real illnesses.
Mental illnesses are conditions in which a person s mental health is affected to a point that they aren t
able to cope with life s expectations. An example is a common known disorder known as depression,
when someone experiences depression they may feel like they no longer want to thrive and be happy
in their life. This happens due to the amount of brain activity the disorder causes to diminish.
According to www.nimh.nih.gov when a person has depression he or she may expirience being very
tired, a loss of interest in activites once enjoyed, and thoughts or attemp of suicide. Depression is
caused by a couple of factors are genes and brain chemistry which is irregular to normal people. Stress
is a major factor that affects those with the mental illness because they are not able to cope with it like
the majority of people. The fact is

petroleum industry use gas chromatographic methods.
Petroleum analysis makes special use of columns for gas chromatography, with industries expecting
continues development of columns for high analytical performances and efficiency.
GC Analysis of petroleum products
In America, testing gas chromatography method for petroleum distillations have a boiling range of 174
degrees to 700 degrees Celsius when using gas chromatography it increases the boiling point.
It provides a good understanding for manufactures for stock and products which are related to
petroleum refining when determining the boiling range distribution of a distillate fraction.
A technique known as simulated distillation is used in which Gas Chromatography is merged with
standards of alkane which is published to boiling parts that perform a direct comparison to the boiling
parts of the sample components.
To calibrate the Gas chromatography system Polyethylene standards is used such as Polywax® 1000
or Polywax® 655, these consist of an even number of hydrocarbons between C20 C100.

Another villa with a similar location is Bignor. It was located near Stane Street, for easy access to

Roman Britain. This makes Chedworth a typical villa as far as location goes. It was near a major
communications route, and had easy access to towns. It was also near a stream, and was built on an
intensely farmed piece of land. As H.H Scullard said of typical villas, One factor was dominant in
their choice of sites: their distance from the town. Villas were working farms, and, therefore had to be
in contact with their markets, so that their viability depended on their access to roads and towns .
There were many different types of villa. H.H Scullard described the four main types of villa as the
cottage, the winged corridor, the courtyard, and the aisled villa . Because it was hard to light the inside
of the villas, and land availability wasn t usually a problem, Roman Villas tended to be rows of rooms,
or wings. The simplest were one row, usually with a corridor. Then a pair of small wings might be
added we call this the winged corridor villa, which was very common. To make a house bigger, wings
would be extended around a courtyard. This is what happened to

In an arid land, there is less precipitation than the potential evaporation which is not the case in humid
regions. 2. What is meant by an impermeable surface and how does such a surface influence the
results of rainfall in a desert? An impermeable surface cannot be penetrated by any element. Such a
surface will not allow rain to percolate into the desert soil leaving no plants with root systems able to
survive unless specifically adapted to the climate. 3. What is a basin of interior drainage? The land is
uplifted crust blocks that form parallel ranges but surface water doesn t run to the ocean. Instead, it
evaporates over time leaving a salt flat. 4. What is the difference between an ephemeral stream and an
exotic stream in a desert? An ephemeral stream is a stream that only exists during rainfall. Exotic
streams come from an origin outside of the desert. 5. Although there is very little rainfall in deserts,
running water is still the most important process of erosion and deposition in arid environments.
Describe and explain at least two special conditions in deserts that tend to increase the likelihood of
fluvial erosion whenever it does rain. Any rainfall increases fluvial erosion. When rain does fall, this
creates ephemeral streams causing water erosion due to fast forces of water. Flash floods are possible
as well creating even more erosion. 6.

The Modern Islamic Financial Institutions Essay
Introduction:
Conventional finance is Based on the neoclassical economic assumption which assumes that every
individual that are involve in the economy have a profit maximization goal. In order to achieve that,
the neoclassical economy also assumes that this profit maximization is being done by every rational
individual which will weigh risk and return in every opportunity.
Although there is no issue with profit maximization in Islam as long as it does not lead to harm or
exploitation to society (Al aali 2012), the means of maximizing profit is more than just weighing the
risk and return. Profit maximization in Islam should abide to Shariah.
Abiding to Shariah in an overview is Prohibitions of riba, gharar and maysir, this is what distinguish
Islamic finance from its conventional counterpart (Ayub, 2007). As an alternative, Islamic financial
system have interest free loans, Islamic joint ventures (musharakah/mudarabah) and trade or lease
based (murabaha/ijarah/salam) financing structures (Azmat et al. 2015). Contemporary Islamic
financial institutions have developed, and continue developing, products that mirror the classical
Islamic products, and evade from the association with riba, gharar and maysir (Kamla Alsoufi 2015).
With increasing demand for Shariah compliant stocks, countries like Malaysia have moved to
introduce an Islamic stock market as an alternative to conventional stock market. This stock market
consists of stock that is compliance to the Shariah. To

Difference in twins and clones
From the very beginning of evolution, human beings have been developing themselves rapidly in
physical and mental aspects. With every successful evolutionary era, human beings are found to be
somewhat alike to their ancestor. Birth of twins is always a matter of great curiosity in world. Many
are amazed with this fact of twining. The fact that contrasts offspring s being alike to their ancestor is
a genetic carrier called DNA. DNA is a double helical structure that is composed of genetic material
called chromosomes. Chromosomes found in human body cells are equal in number in each cell and
are formed after the cell division and condensation of DNA (charlotte 3). With growing technology
and scientific progress artificial twining called cloning is also made possible. But, Identical twins
made from biological parents are incomparable to the clones made from a genetic host.
Genetic material called Chromosomes carry genetic material from springs to spring with slight
variation. During birth unusual division of chromosome can give birth to twins. Twins can be of two
types identical twins and fraternal twins. Identical twins look alike but fraternal twins do not. Twining
is a biological process. There is another artificial process of making twins that is cloning, which
results same as twining. Usually by definition, clones are living organism that has placed themselves

At the moment of birth an ant larvae is assigned their role within the colony. There are three possible
employment opportunities; an aristocrat, a worker or a soldier.
The colony is much departmentalised, which describes the basis by which jobs in an organisation are
grouped together [2] (Robbins amp; Judge, 2011). The different job divisions from work specialisation
become further departmentalised in to different functions. The worker ants have their managers, the
soldier ants have a commander General Mandible and the royal ants are overseen by the Queen, who
also oversees the rest of the colony.
In this colony, a clear chain of command can be seen. This is the unbroken line of authority that
extends from the top of the organization to the lowest echelon and clarifies who reports to whom [3]
(Robbins amp; Judge, 2011). Every order that is to be given, first has to be approved by the Queen.
This is seen, when the General wants to declare war, Colonel Cutter asks him, Don t we need the
Queen s approval to declare war? (Darnell amp; Johnson, 1998). The ant in command of the workers,
the Foreman, reports to the General if something concerning the working ants goes wrong. An
example of this is the incident, where the ant ball is dropped by Z in the beginning of the movie, and
the Foreman is called in to have a talk to the General about the workers.

Evolutionary Differences In X-Men
X Men (2000) is the first movie in the X Men film series, following a group of mutants who are born
with unique genetic mutations that manifest as a range of superpowers such as telepathy, shape
shifting and weather manipulation. Despite this film being highly entertaining and engaging, it is rife
with ideas that conflict with evolutionary principles, such as natural selection, which many
evolutionary biologists support.
A common misconception of the theory of evolution is that organisms are evolving to be superior to
previous species and continuously developing new adaptations that are better , with the human species
considered the best current evolution (Understanding Evolution, 2018). This misconception that
evolution results in progress is prevalent throughout the X Men film, ... Show more content on

Contrastingly, evolutionary scientists believe that evolution takes place over thousands of years, and
although natural selection does result in improved adaptations to survive and reproduce in select
environments (Wallace, 2007), this does not mean we can quantify species as better or worse . The
notion of the development of an overall better species can be considered impossible when it comes to
evolution. Environmental niches of individual species can differ immensely; therefore we cannot
select which traits are better overall, due to large ranges of selective pressures that make different
traits more suitable in different environments (Gregory, 2009). As an example, though humans are
misconceived as the most evolved species, in a fully aquatic environment, other species, for example a
clownfish, have a higher chance of survival and reproduction. Hence, a clownfish, ape, or bug is just
as evolved as humans, only in different directions. Moreover, environments are constantly changing in
regards to their climate, resource availability, species composition and physical structure; therefore, an
organism with adaptations that are beneficial in one context, may be

Paper Chromatography Lab Report
Lab 8: Investigation 5
Lab question: How do you separate molecules that are attracted to one another?
Procedure: Place a small amount of solvent in separate beakers. Then place the mixture on
chromatography paper and put the paper in each beaker.
Controls: The chromatography paper used for each of the beakers would have to be the same because
different chromatography papers may contain different amounts of cellulose, which would vary how
attracted the solvent is to the paper. The amount of time allowed for the dyes to travel also has to be
the same for each solvent in order to obtain accurate Rf values for comparison.
Conclusion: Molecules that are attracted to one another are best separated by water (solvent). The Rf
values were 0.813 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The solvent moves through the stationary phase by capillary action (it is attracted to the thin layer of
water in the cellulose) and picks up the molecules that are attracted to it. To determine the level of
separation of the mixture, Rf values are used. Rf values are given by the ratio of the distance the dye
travels divided by the distance the solvent travels. The farther the dye travels, the more attracted it is
to the solvent and the greater the Rf value. Water is the best solvent to separate the dyes because it is
the most polar of all the solvents and it is attracted to ions (forming an ion dipole moment.) The
sulfate groups in the dyes have strong interactions with the water because of their charges. Because
the dyes are polar, they are attracted to more polar solvents (water). Blue 1 had the greatest affinity for
water because it has the most sulfate groups, a place for H bonding to happen, and it is the largest

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Unicameral System
1.0. UNICAMERAL LEGISLATURES .
Unicameral legislatures or one chamber are usually deep rooted in countries structured on a unitary
governmental system .Unitary model is different from federal model where the latter practices
distribution of power between central government and constituent territorial units while power is
undivided on central government in unicameral legislatives system .
Merits of unicameral legislatures includes the ability to enact proposed legislation speedily because
double consideration of measures by two houses is unessential as there is only one body needed to
adopt the legislation . In other words , it is a simpler form of government . Besides , if legislation fails
to pass or if citizens interests are neglected , legislators cannot criticize the other chamber . Hence ,
this proved that they have greater accountability . This model generally found in geographically small
countries with homogenous population of fewer than 10 million occupants . Therefore, unicameral
systems officials member is elected in small number for the community to monitor . It also allowed

Roosevelt s Reforms During The Great Depression
Once President Franklin Roosevelt was elected during the Great Depression, his first 100 days enacted
what he called the New Deal. This deal was a series of reforms that were meant to increase available
jobs, better the working conditions, and put money back into the economy. Jobs offered during this
time, as well as the relief, recovery, and reform efforts gave a kick start to the American economy,
helping to pull us out of the Great Depression. Some examples of these efforts can be seen in the
Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), the National Recovery Administration (NRA), and the Social
Security Act (SSA). The relief effort that I chose, the Civilian Conservation Corps, was an effort to
both conserve our natural resources as well as put young men between the ages of 18 and 25 back in
work. The act employed 2.5 million primarily white men into ... Show more content on

The effort addressed the work hours, productivity, union memberships, minimum wage, and prices of
services available. This program inevitably failed when the rules that were created were too long and
specific to be enforced regularly and efficiently. Despite this, they still managed to have a few positive
effects on society, such as helping end child labor in the textile business. Lastly, the Social Security
Act was one of many reform efforts that sprung from the New Deal. This act was an attempt to
provide general welfare for women and their children, those with disabilities such as blindness, older
individuals, and public health, and helped financially support them while they were looking for work
elsewhere. It was most common with elderly individuals, as they received what is known as old age
pensions. This was one of the few reforms that has stayed with us since the New Deal, and was
economically successful in bringing America out of the Great

America Land Of Opportunity Essay
The Great Land of America: Land Of Opportunity Many sought to migrate to America, a land that was
talked so highly of, full of opportunities for all to have. From the rich to the poor, to the slaves and the
free, most all was willing to do anything at their chance of happiness, riches, and success. However,
the time period of the 1600 s through 1774 would have many trails, errors, and triumphs, and all
would test the limits and the strengths of the newfound settlers, and would prove these opportunities to
be a long, difficult road to success. In the early 1600 s many walks of life came to the America s, some
in search of the riches that had been told of, and some just searching for freedom of religion. Among
some of these people were colonists who had established their first permanent colony in Virginia, but
low and behold many of these people fell victim to dissension and disease (Norton,41). Life in
America would not be as easy such an easy task. Many of these people came with the intentions of
relying on some of the local Indians for help in the areas of food and tribute, but the Indians did not
want to cooperate (Norton,41). The Indians would prove to be another difficult task that would be
encountered by most, as most of them did not want to convert to the new ways and traditions of life,
let alone conform to a new religious ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Large numbers of people came over as slaves or indentured servants to work on the farms that had
been planted in hopes that for exchange they might acquire their own piece of land. A majority of
these people would either succumb to diseases or never lived long enough to reap the benefits of their
hard work. Some even worked under the task system, a system which allowed slaves to work to build

Khe Sanh Australian Poem Analysis
Hello ladies and gentlemen, I am here to bring forth some poems that represent our beautiful country
for the Australian day anthology. Australians identity is a wonderful thing with our mate ship and way
of life respected throughout the world. Our acknowledgement of our past makes us the country we are
and creates the country we have, with the pride shared between all who happily call Australia there
home. These poems explore our country s pride through times of hardship, this being the Vietnam war.
And how our strong mate ship and pride helped us prevail through this time. These are very clear
throughout the poems becoming clear staple pieces for this era.
The first poem is the song, Khe Sanh by Cold Chisel written in 1978 and based upon the post stress of
the Vietnam war, created on everyone involved. It expresses how life was for the war veterans after
this dreadful war they just endured, showing the struggle fitting back into a normal society. It explores
the journey of a VET combating this stress. They try to suppress it but no matter how hard they try to
this doesn t work. So, they go looking to discover the real meaning behind it all.
And I ve travelled round the world from year to year And each one found me aimless, one more year
the more for wear

Like many others soldiers the song writer Lachlan Irvine suffered PTSD being a major reason for
writing these poems so people understand what he went through. The meaning of this poem is set
upon how bad Vietnam war was like and more focusing on the lesser known parts that happened. The
rhetorical questions throughout this poem created great emotional affect upon the audience making
them think hard about all these different events. The language used with these questioned is very
strong to create lasting effects being extremely upfront one used to

Baby Sleep Research Paper
The Importance of Baby Sleep All living creatures need sleep. Sleeping gives people and all living
creatures the time for the body to recuperate and regenerate. Lion s needs 16 to 18 hours of sleep,
while primates, ten to twelve hours of sleep. Humans need on average six to eight hours sleep to
rejuvenate. Human babies need a full eight hours of sleep and naps in between. The body uses sleep as
a way to regenerate cells and refresh the brain and overall aids in the development of our body, mind,
and health. During our sleep, the human body can regenerate hair follicles, fingernails, toenails and
even the outer covering of the skin. This happens because of the automatic pilot that is built into our
bodies. People tend to think that

The Academic Calendar Of The Philippines Essay
John Ashley N. Capellan S10 24 October 2016
The academic calendar in the Philippines should be reverted back to June
Definition of Academic calendar Oxford dictionary defines the term academic calendar as the
schedule of events occurring in an academic year. This includes term times, examination dates, school
activities and many others.
A Glimpse of the Current Situation, The Policy, and Objectives of this Paper The Philippines, which is
a member of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), is the only country that follows
the June March academic calendar, after Thailand shifted its academic calendar last 2011. In order for
the universities and schools to become global, they will change their calendars from June March to
August May (for some universities, other universities choose September June). This is not only to
respond to the competencies for the international market, but also to maximize the opportunities in the
ASEAN. This policy argues that the academic calendar in the Philippines should be reverted back to
June March calendar. Implementation of this policy will ensure the independence and will give way
towards good quality in the academic standards of the country in relation to the needs of the people.
The people affected in this policy are the administrators, professors, teachers, staff, students, parents,
and prospective foreign academic investors. The main objective of this paper is to explain why the

Why Relationships Fail
Some people think that heartbreak is the worst feeling in the world. Many relationships have gone
wrong, leaving more questions than answers. Why does it sometimes feel like a broken heart hurts
worse than a broken bone? Do feelings really have that much of an impact on a person s day to day
life? There are a number of reasons why a relationship fails. Jealousy, attachment, detachment,
selfishness, time, trust, communication, honesty, and acceptance are just a few reasons.
Do opposites really attract? Maybe at first. It s hard to maintain a relationship when two people have
absolutely nothing in common. It could be the simplest of things such as what type of movies you like
or what to get for dinner to the most difficult of things ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You start to think that nobody will understand what you re going through. You don t have any goals.
Or you just stop believing that there isn t anything out there for you to hold onto that has any meaning
to your life.
Life isn t about the what ifs or maybes or the destination, it s about the journey and what you can
overcome to make you a better person. It s about setting goals and doing your best to succeed. There is
nothing in life that you have to prove to anybody but yourself. Everybody is a unique individual that
nobody else can compare to. If you felt that you couldn t be yourself in a relationship then that s
something that needs to be reevaluated. You could look at a failed relationship as an obstacle in life
that you have to overcome in order to become a better, stronger person.
Placing blame on a failed relationship and putting too much thought into the question Why?, isn t
really fair to either party involved. It is not necessarily one person s fault or because one specific event
that happened. If two people were together, for however long, then something about the other person
must have made you happy at one point during your relationship. Every relationship needs time and
space away from each other as well as together. A time when you can each find who you are as an
individual to better be a couple.
Not everybody has a successful relationship right off the bat. A successful relationship takes time and
effort to build

Pros And Cons Of Harry Parr Gas or Electricity Forward looking and keen to acquire one of the new electric fired kilns, Harry Parr often discussed with Charles Vyse the pros and cons of kiln firing. Vyse was of the opinion that gas was best, and Parr was one of the first potters to bring electricity to the Cheyne Row studios. Vyse however, continued to fire his figures using the gas fuelled kiln he had acquired when Bertha White became his assistant in 1919. From 1920, Vyse and Parr consistently showed their work at the Royal Academy. Parr organised one or two Christmas shows at his studio, but most of his work he sold through James Connell of Bond Street. His figures retailed at 25 guineas with Parr receiving his just portion of the selling price. Unlike Vyse, who by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At Charles Noke s invitation, Leslie Harradine had designed the figure HN479 Balloon Seller, sometimes referred to as the Balloon Woman. Harradine, consummate artist that he was, could not in good faith model a facsimile of the Vyse original, and an unacceptable practice and against the law of industrial plagiarism. The Harradine figure may be c0nstrued the amalgamation of two Vyse designs, the Balloon Woman of 1920, and the current design, Tulip Woman, 1921. It is conceivable that Harradine took the essential elements from both designs by Vyse, and amalgamated them into a new and cohesive whole, cleverly modelling a vendor figure of which the Doulton studio wholeheartedly approved. The first version of Doultons HN479 Balloon Seller had a Black shawl and grey dress with white spots, withdrawn in 1938 (Fig. 35a). A additional version HN486 had a blue dress, but was modelled without a black hat, this too was withdrawn by 1938. The version numbered HN548, introduced in 1922, had a black shawl and blue dress, also withdrawn by 1938. The Doulton figure illustrated with green shawl and cream dress (Fig. 35b), and numbered HN583, introduced in 1932, withdrawn by 1949. Ronald Reagan Racialization Nevertheless, Nixon s attempt to foist ideas of drug use and immorality onto his political opponents, including minorities was not especially successful as a racial project. But, because the number of white Christian evangelical Americans is shrinking, it would follow that these racial projects diminish in power as the hegemonic demographic loses its majority. Indeed, Paul Roberts 2016 Book The End of White Christian America describes how these racial projects and unifications are losing power based on demographic shifts in the population of America. The Human Rights and Ethical Dilemmas Facing Marketing Research in an Ever Expanding Business Market What is ethical and unethical when it comes to information gathering on a group of people or an individual? This is a question that has been debated and pondered over for many years. As social mediums, technology, and social and economic statuses change at rates that have never been seen on this type of global scale in human history it can be hard to tell. I will delve into situations and dilemmas that marketers find themselves in, on a day to day basis when doing research. Anheuser Busch hired individuals that were looked at as trend setters, to go into popular bars in major metropolitan areas in the United States and buy Bud Select. This is when Anheuser Busch was just introducing Bud Select. This is where the dilemma comes in, was Anheuser Busch doing anything wrong in hiring people to buy their own product in public outings? This was a way for them to push their product. For: Anheuser Busch was not breaking the law. There is no rule saying you can t hire people to buy your own product and then showcase it to other individuals. Against: By hiring individuals that are looked at as trend setters to push a new product in a public atmosphere, a bar or club, without the public knowledge can be looked at as misleading and shady The question you have to ask yourself when doing marketing research is where is line. • 7. Human Cloning Is Not More Difficult Than Cloning Human cloning involves removing the nucleus of a human egg and replacing it with the nucleus of an existing person (Glannon, p. 89). It is the genetic duplication of an existing person (CGS). Identical twins are a naturally occurring cloning (Science Daily). Several countries worldwide have bans on human cloning (Kilner). The U.S. government has cut funding for cloning research (Kilner). Arguments in favor of human cloning point out the benefits of advancing technology, while those against question the effect it has on human dignity and even the clone itself. Although the clone has the DNA of the donor, the clone will have epigenetic effects. Epigenetic disturbances refer to the altered physical structures of the DNA, but not the DNA sequence itself (Epigenetics). Cloning technology has produced clones of several mammals, including sheep, mice, goats, and horses (AMA). Cloning humans is technically more difficult than cloning other mammals (Cloning Fact Sheet). The process is still extremely inefficient and rarely produces viable cells. Those usable cells are unlikely to survive until birth (AMA). So far, animal cloning research has caused death and deformities of the clone (Kilner). Dolly, a cloned sheep, aged rapidly and had to be euthanized at six years old (Glannon, p91). We can assume that human cloning will also have a dismal failure rate (AMA). It would be considered unethical to attempt to produce human clones due to the potential physical harm to the cloned child ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In a friendly conversation, a few weeks ago she mentioned having Lyme disease. I grew up in a rural part of Indiana so my childhood consisted of playing outside almost everyday. My front yard is full of trees, and because I live in a very forested area right across from a corn field, these trees often have ticks. My parents always warned us to be cautious of ticks by using insect repellant and making sure we were wearing long clothing if we were going to be close to the trees. Our dogs would often get a tick here or there that my parents would have to pull off, but only once or twice do I remember one of my siblings or cousins getting a tick on them. My parents and grandparents always warned us about Lyme disease, because it was such a prevalent topic in Indiana. As a child, it seemed as if my parents were overreacting, which is why it was so interesting to see that Dana had gotten Lyme disease. This sounds like the perfect place to work but there is always room for improvement to make sure that the employees are able to keep an open flow of communication not only with each other but with other franchises and corporate. This way, if there are any concerns within a particular field that can t be settled by management alone, they can be addressed by cooperate. After all, it was the vice president of performance and development, Chuck Wensing that said, One of our biggest challenges is the notion of how to get big, but remain small (Ruiz 2006). It would allow for idea sharing between franchises and offer more training that can lead to higher pay or recognition. This would also help to bolster employee morale and overall performance. The efforts for everyone to be equal has made a tremendous improvement it still has not made enough to say that we are all equal in society. Organizational Redesign Essay Organizational redesign is a process that every business will have to perform to maintain or increase their efficiency or to maintain their competitive level with their peers. Unfortunately, most employees will view redesign as a threat to the norm or maybe even their jobs. On the other hand, other stakeholders will find that it is a necessity due to the ever changing outside influences such as advances in technology and internal changes such as a paradigm shift. Ummel (1994) states that redesign is not the same as reorganization or restructuring which are typically motivated by financial recovery plans (Ummel, 1994). Organizational redesign is an open, creative effort to further integrate itself by simplifying and altering its shape (Ummel, 1994). One of the best ways for employees to protect themselves from any negative actions such as a layoff or reduction in force is to know which transferrable skills are required or looked upon as favorable by the employer. Differences In Twins Compare And Contrast Subash Khanal ENGLISH 1113 @ TR@ 9:30 Mrs. Smith 8th Dec, 2016 Difference in twins and clones From the very beginning of evolution, human beings have been developing themselves rapidly in physical and mental aspects. With every successful evolutionary era, human beings are found to be somewhat alike to their ancestor. Birth of twins is always a matter of great curiosity in world. Many are amazed with this fact of twining. The fact that contrasts offspring s being alike to their ancestor is a genetic carrier called DNA. DNA is a double helical structure that is composed of genetic material called chromosomes. Chromosomes found in human body cells are equal in number in each cell and are formed after the cell division and condensation of DNA (charlotte 3). With growing technology and scientific progress artificial twining called cloning is also made possible. But, Identical twins made from biological parents are incomparable to the clones made from a genetic host. Genetic material called Chromosomes carry genetic material from springs to spring with slight variation. During birth unusual division of chromosome can give birth to twins. Twins can be of two types identical twins and fraternal twins. Identical twins look alike but fraternal twins do not. Twining is a biological process. Contrastingly, evolutionary scientists believe that evolution takes place over thousands of years, and although natural selection does result in improved adaptations to survive and reproduce in select environments (Wallace, 2007), this does not mean we can quantify species as better or worse . The notion of the development of an overall better species can be considered impossible when it comes to evolution. Environmental niches of individual species can differ immensely; therefore we cannot select which traits are better overall, due to large ranges of selective pressures that make different traits more suitable in different environments (Gregory, 2009). As an example, though humans are misconceived as the most evolved species, in a fully aquatic environment, other species, for example a clownfish, have a higher chance of survival and reproduction. The doctor who tested the worse experiments was Josef Mengele at the Auschwitz concentration camp ( NAZI MEDICAL EXPERIMENTS ). He did experiments on twins, and then would do serological experiments on Gypsies. Josef Mengele did these experiments to help determine the different races, which would defy contagious diseases. Some people consider the Holocaust an insult to humanity ( Medical Experiments of the Holocaust and Nazi Medicine ). So many people lost their lives, many just because of the experiments the Nazis preformed on innocent people. The prisoners went through hell and most of the died, but the world could be very different today is this tragedy never occurred. Work Cited Medical Experiments of the Holocaust and Nazi Medicine |. • 40. Paper Chromatography Lab Report Lab 8: Investigation 5 Lab question: How do you separate molecules that are attracted to one another? Procedure: Place a small amount of solvent in separate beakers. Then place the mixture on chromatography paper and put the paper in each beaker. Controls: The chromatography paper used for each of the beakers would have to be the same because different chromatography papers may contain different amounts of cellulose, which would vary how attracted the solvent is to the paper. The amount of time allowed for the dyes to travel also has to be the same for each solvent in order to obtain accurate Rf values for comparison. Conclusion: Molecules that are attracted to one another are best separated by water (solvent). The Rf values were 0.813 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The solvent moves through the stationary phase by capillary action (it is attracted to the thin layer of water in the cellulose) and picks up the molecules that are attracted to it. To determine the level of separation of the mixture, Rf values are used. Rf values are given by the ratio of the distance the dye travels divided by the distance the solvent travels. The farther the dye travels, the more attracted it is to the solvent and the greater the Rf value. Water is the best solvent to separate the dyes because it is the most polar of all the solvents and it is attracted to ions (forming an ion dipole moment.) The sulfate groups in the dyes have strong interactions with the water because of their charges. Because the dyes are polar, they are attracted to more polar solvents (water). Blue 1 had the greatest affinity for water because it has the most sulfate groups, a place for H bonding to happen, and it is the largest meaning it has more LD forces and is more polarizable. Yellow 5 has several sulfate groups, H bonding, and a carboxylic acid group. The red traveled the least because it has fewer sulfate groups, is the smallest, and has less LD forces (less polarizable). Water would be the most green solvent because it is not ... Unicameral legislatures or one chamber are usually deep rooted in countries structured on a unitary governmental system .Unitary model is different from federal model where the latter practices distribution of power between central government and constituent territorial units while power is undivided on central government in unicameral legislatives system . Merits of unicameral legislatures includes the ability to enact proposed legislation speedily because double consideration of measures by two houses is unessential as there is only one body needed to adopt the legislation . In other words , it is a simpler form of government . Besides , if legislation fails to pass or if citizens interests are neglected , legislators cannot criticize the other chamber . • 42. Roosevelt s Reforms During The Great Depression Once President Franklin Roosevelt was elected during the Great Depression, his first 100 days enacted what he called the New Deal. This deal was a series of reforms that were meant to increase available jobs, better the working conditions, and put money back into the economy. Jobs offered during this time, as well as the relief, recovery, and reform efforts gave a kick start to the American economy, helping to pull us out of the Great Depression. Some examples of these efforts can be seen in the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), the National Recovery Administration (NRA), and the Social Security Act (SSA). The relief effort that I chose, the Civilian Conservation Corps, was an effort to both conserve our natural resources as well as put young men between the ages of 18 and 25 back in work. Lastly, the Social Security Act was one of many reform efforts that sprung from the New Deal. This act was an attempt to provide general welfare for women and their children, those with disabilities such as blindness, older individuals, and public health, and helped financially support them while they were looking for work elsewhere. It was most common with elderly individuals, as they received what is known as old age pensions. • 43. America Land Of Opportunity Essay The Great Land of America: Land Of Opportunity Many sought to migrate to America, a land that was talked so highly of, full of opportunities for all to have. From the rich to the poor, to the slaves and the free, most all was willing to do anything at their chance of happiness, riches, and success. However, the time period of the 1600 s through 1774 would have many trails, errors, and triumphs, and all would test the limits and the strengths of the newfound settlers, and would prove these opportunities to be a long, difficult road to success. In the early 1600 s many walks of life came to the America s, some in search of the riches that had been told of, and some just searching for freedom of religion. Among some of these people were colonists who had established their first permanent colony in Virginia, but low and behold many of these people fell victim to dissension and disease (Norton,41). Life in America would not be as easy such an easy task. Many of these people came with the intentions of relying on some of the local Indians for help in the areas of food and tribute, but the Indians did not want to cooperate (Norton,41). The Indians would prove to be another difficult task that would be encountered by most, as most of them did not want to convert to the new ways and traditions of life, let alone conform to a new religious ... • 44. Khe Sanh Australian Poem Analysis Hello ladies and gentlemen, I am here to bring forth some poems that represent our beautiful country for the Australian day anthology. Australians identity is a wonderful thing with our mate ship and way of life respected throughout the world. Our acknowledgement of our past makes us the country we are and creates the country we have, with the pride shared between all who happily call Australia there home. These poems explore our country s pride through times of hardship, this being the Vietnam war. And how our strong mate ship and pride helped us prevail through this time. These are very clear throughout the poems becoming clear staple pieces for this era. The first poem is the song, Khe Sanh by Cold Chisel written in 1978 and based upon the post stress of the Vietnam war, created on everyone involved. It expresses how life was for the war veterans after this dreadful war they just endured, showing the struggle fitting back into a normal society. It explores the journey of a VET combating this stress. They try to suppress it but no matter how hard they try to this doesn t work. So, they go looking to discover the real meaning behind it all. • 48. The Academic Calendar Of The Philippines Essay John Ashley N. Capellan S10 24 October 2016 The academic calendar in the Philippines should be reverted back to June Definition of Academic calendar Oxford dictionary defines the term academic calendar as the schedule of events occurring in an academic year. This includes term times, examination dates, school activities and many others. A Glimpse of the Current Situation, The Policy, and Objectives of this Paper The Philippines, which is a member of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), is the only country that follows the June March academic calendar, after Thailand shifted its academic calendar last 2011. In order for the universities and schools to become global, they will change their calendars from June March to August May (for some universities, other universities choose September June). This is not only to respond to the competencies for the international market, but also to maximize the opportunities in the ASEAN. This policy argues that the academic calendar in the Philippines should be reverted back to June March calendar. Implementation of this policy will ensure the independence and will give way towards good quality in the academic standards of the country in relation to the needs of the people. The people affected in this policy are the administrators, professors, teachers, staff, students, parents, and prospective foreign academic investors. The main objective of this paper is to explain why the academic calendar ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Why does it sometimes feel like a broken heart hurts worse than a broken bone? Do feelings really have that much of an impact on a person s day to day life? There are a number of reasons why a relationship fails. Jealousy, attachment, detachment, selfishness, time, trust, communication, honesty, and acceptance are just a few reasons. Do opposites really attract? Maybe at first. It s hard to maintain a relationship when two people have absolutely nothing in common. Or you just stop believing that there isn t anything out there for you to hold onto that has any meaning to your life. Life isn t about the what ifs or maybes or the destination, it s about the journey and what you can overcome to make you a better person. It s about setting goals and doing your best to succeed. There is nothing in life that you have to prove to anybody but yourself. Everybody is a unique individual that nobody else can compare to. If you felt that you couldn t be yourself in a relationship then that s something that needs to be reevaluated. You could look at a failed relationship as an obstacle in life that you have to overcome in order to become a better, stronger person. Placing blame on a failed relationship and putting too much thought into the question Why?, isn t really fair to either party involved. It is not necessarily one person s fault or because one specific event that happened. If two people were together, for however long, then something about the other person must have made you happy at one point during your relationship. Every relationship needs time and space away from each other as well as together. A time when you can each find who you are as an individual to better be a couple.
