Strategies of Emotion Management For this week s discussion post, I will be discussing how nurses
use emotion management to protect their own psychological and emotional well being on and off the
job. In reference to the article, venting to peers is the most recognized method of managing high levels
of emotions, this is done venting to colleagues, who can relate because they too share the same
environment. Another equally effective method often used is reconstructing difficult situations into a
positive light. For instance, a patient who has passed away can be recognized as a relief of suffering
(Hammonds Cadge, 2014, p. 166). Another aspect of stress management we have to consider is how
we deal with emotional issues off the job. Nurses

6. Impact Of Globalisation On Thailand
ntroduction Globalisation is the process of integration of national economies through international
trade of markets in goods and services, international trade in assets, and international spread of ideas,
from consumer tastes to intellectual ideas (Frankel, 2006). Thailand is one of the less developed
countries (LDC) in the world. During 1990s, Thailand became more exposed to global forces and
globalisation had higher intensity than the previous attempts. Thailand experienced two previous
waves of globalisation in the late 19th century with the expansion of the rice economy and in the late
1950s with Thailand s induction under the United States Cold War strategy and economic tutelage
(Pathmanand, 2001). This paper aims to explain the global impact, benefits and risks of globalisation

7. Similarities Between Romeo And Juliet Act 3 Scene 1
In act three scene one in the book of Romeo And Juliet Tybalt attempts to fight Romeo but Mercutio
steps in and tells Tybalt to fight him. In 1968 and 1997 films this scene is portrayed in two different
ways.
In the 1968 film of Romeo and Juliet Tybalt provokes Mercutio by attempting to duel with Romeo and
acting like Romeo was dirty and washing his hands in the fountain then splashing Mercutio. This
caused Mercutio to get angry and call Tybalt names. Then Mercutio challenged Tybalt to a duel and
fought him. After a while of them insulting each other and hitting each other s swords they began to

angry like he was prior to the comment that Tybalt made. When Tybalt and Mercutio are about to fight
Romeo arrives and then Tybalt wants to talk with Romeo instead of fighting Mercutio. Tybalt then
calls Romeo a villain and has his friend prepare his gun for a duel. Romeo does not prepare his gun
and proceeds to explain to Tybalt that he loves him and tells him that he does not want to fight him.
Romeo then lifted his hand to Tybalt to make peace and leave but Tybalt swats Romeo s hand away
and begins to beat Romeo. This made Mercutio mad so he intervened and began to fight Tybalt.
Mercutio pushed Tybalt onto a glass pane or mirror and was getting ready to start beating Tybalt.
Romeo then began to pull Mercutio away from Tybalt and stabbed Mercutio with a piece of glass
under Romeo s arm. Mercutio then climbs up onto a stage and starts chanting about his injury is a
mere scratch. One Mercutio realized that his cut was much deeper than he had thought he curses both

10. League Of Nations Dbq Essay
The United States had entered World War I against many wishes of the American public, which made
the ratification for the peace agreement an even more difficult task. Woodrow Wilson justified
American involvement by claiming that an Ally victory would ensure a new world order. The war
would be used as an instrument to make the world safe for democracy . However, many Americans,
government officials, and even the Allies did not agree with the progressive ideals that would be
enforced to attain the peace that Wilson had desired and promised. This was made evident when
Wilson s negotiations for the peace treaty were criticized and rejected by the leaders of the other
Allied nations and isolationists. Even when Wilson acknowledged ... Show more content on

The League was the epitome of Wilson s idealistic values, it would be the main approach to attain the
peace between neighboring nations that he guaranteed. However, Republican Senators, some known
as irreconcilables, and some fervent isolationists, objected because they believed that American
membership would interfere with not only US sovereignty, but also defy constitutional laws, like the
Monroe Doctrine. The Monroe Doctrine allowed the United States to oppose European intervention in
the Western Hemisphere. By passing the League of Nations, it would violate that right because the
United States would unify itself with other world powers, which would entangle Americans in foreign
conflicts (Doc E). The League of Nations would also welcome foreign nations to administer control
and power over the United States. America s democratic system would be influenced by the values of
other forms of government. In a speech by Willian Borah to Congress, he said, Will anyone advocate
a tribunal created other than by our own people and give it to an international army subject to its
direction and control to enforce its decree? Borah was right. A majority of Americans would not
consent to other nations rule, when many died to gain and protect their freedom and liberty. Borah

not about themselves, it is about empowering others.
Transformation from I to We This transformation occurs in Phase II of the leadership development.
This is when we realize that leadership is not about giving subordinates directions and orders to
follow. It is about empowering people to grow to their fullest potentials.
Part II: Discover Your Authentic Leadership
Knowing your Authentic Self
The book teaches the important of being self aware in order to choose the right role for you, be
comfortable in your own skin, act consistently in different situations, gain trust of others, build strong
relationships, and to know your strengths and weaknesses. Without self awareness, we would be easily
thrown off our True North path. The book provides a method for finding your true self called Peeling
Back the Onion. The process begins with looking at your outer layers such as body language, attire,
appearance and leadership style and then goes deeper to strengths, weaknesses, motivations values and
then to understanding your life story, vulnerabilities, etc and then finally to your authentic self. See

Establishment Republicans are not sniggering at Donald Trump s antics anymore, especially as he
threatens to go solo in November if party insiders scheme to deny him the nomination. Echoes of
similarly irate conservative Teddy Roosevelt and his Bull Moose party sinking the Republican (GOP)
national campaign in 1912 get louder every time Trump wins a primary state. After the real estate
mogul announced his candidacy in June last year, party leaders contentedly sat back in the peanut
gallery ridiculing his naked attempts at demagoguery. Later, they dismissed Trump s surging poll
numbers as an electoral blip sparked by fringe sections of the party base that loathed the GOP s
handling of Congress. Moreover, they believed Trump s novelty act as the outsider would soon wear
out and make GOP voters collectively come to their senses and coalesce behind either Marco Rubio or
Jeb Bush, the party s blue eyed boys. This cocksure feeling has now given way to one of dread as
Trump keeps notching victories in the primary season. A new Rasmussen poll puts Trump 15 points
clear of closest rival Ted Cruz. More worryingly, 24% of Trump s base will very likely vote for him if
he runs as an independent, effectively torching GOP hopes of preventing a Democratic three peat in
the White House. Republican rivals have tried ganging up on Trump in debates, running attack ads to
discredit him but nothing really stuck so the establishment is changing tack. Influential leaders of the

The shape of Michigan is something very unique to us. Anytime you look at a map of the Earth, you

you are. Or if you want to tell someone where a city is located in Michigan, and you don t have a map,
you can just hold up your hand and point. For those of us born and raised in Michigan, it seems like a
completely normal thing to do. The shape of Michigan is really unique, with two separate peninsulas
to tell the story of how our state was shaped into the land we see today. Water has been the
predominant factor in shaping Michigan, starting with glaciers over ten million years ago, to rivers,
rain and lakes that still shape it today. Water ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These formations caused the water level in many lakes to drop, and flow into rivers. With the weight
of the glacier removed from the land, isotonic equilibrium occurred. The region began to rise, at a rate
of about thirty centimeters per century (Leelanau, 2004). Water levels in the upper basin began to rise,
forming lakes that filled the Michigan, Huron and Superior basins. Today, this isotonic rebound is still
occurring, but at a rate of 53 centimeters per century. The rebound occurs at different rates across the
area that was covered by the glacier. The difference in rates emerges from the difference in weight of
the glacier. Areas that are rising the fastest today are those that had a thicker or heavier glacial ice, or
those areas that had ice covering those most recently. Because of the difference in rates, the lower
basin rose more slowly that the northern outlets (Leelanau, 2004). As the water changed directions to
flow through the St. Clair River, the shape of the Great Lakes reached a point close to what they are at
today. The shorelines and water level has changed, but the basic flow of water has stayed the same for
the past 2,000 or so

Zeus and Maia: Zeus was romantically involved w. a nymph named Maia and they made love in a

Hermes Invents the Lyre: Hermes departed from the cave and ventured off. He discovered a tortoise

reeds, and strings of sheep gut to invent the first seven stringed lyre.

Hermes claimed that he couldn t possibly have stolen them since he was a newborn. Apollo refused to
believe him. Apollo brought Hermes to the top of MT. Olympus, so Zeus could resolve the issue for
them.
Zeus Decides the Case: Apollo told his side of the story first and explained the truth: how Hermes
stole his cattle. Hermes, however, continued to lie and swore on oath that he was not guilty of
committing the crimes. Zeus knew that Hermes was lying and just laughed and commanded him to
bring Apollo to his cattle.
The Reconciliation between Hermes and Apollo: Hermes brought Apollo to his cattle, and they made

Following the conclusion of Pudd nhead Wilson, a novel written by Mark Twain in 1894, but taking
place in the 1850s, it is obvious that the book was inundated with a myriad of differing themes.
However, there is a theme that stands out in terms of being the most influential message conveyed by
Twain. This theme is that deception does not succeed, nor have favorable outcomes. I was able to
choose one specific scene from the novel that truly represents this theme. The scene that most
symbolizes the backfiring and disadvantages of deception is in the scene where Tom is sold down the
river. This scene is important because it accurately depicts the results of deception and epitomizes the
role that trickery plays in one s life. First off, the message ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In my visual, I have included a backdrop consisting of the town in which he resides. Within the scene,
the houses and buildings are colored darker to represent the citizens negative feelings towards Tom.
Once sold, it can be properly inferred that no one was going to miss... Tom (Twain 78). This
disadvantage of the deceit in Pudd nhead Wilson was that Tom s personality developed for the worse.
This is evident in him being sold down the river as his actions and personality, being driven by greed
and a false lifestyle given by Roxy, tainted his reputation. His mistreatment of Chambers, his
gambling, or gaming debts, and drinking addiction, all stemmed from being an imposter; Roxy s
deception moved Tom in the wrong direction, making him an immoral person (Twain 38). In my
visual, I have included two rocks on either side of the boat that Tom is in. This represents his
wrongdoings and the guilt that he carries as a result of his actions when he should have been a slave. If
those rocks were removed then the boat would tip over, sink, and drown him. Despite his misconduct,
Tom must live with the consequences of deceit, one of which is becoming a

Analysis of Critical Essays on Benito Cereno
It is possible to divide the critics into two camps regarding Herman Melville s purpose in writing
Benito Cereno. Joseph Schiffman, Joyce Adler, and Sidney Kaplan all argue that Melville wrote the
story to make a comment on slavery. On the other hand, Sandra Zagarell and Allan Emery contend
that Melville goes beyond slavery and is pointing out other flaws in mid Nineteenth century American
notion.

He argues that Melville wrote a moral tale, not an abolitionist story. At the end of the essay, Schiffman
contradicts himself by proclaiming that Babo s head being unabashed as Benito Cereno, the slave
trader, follow[s] his leader is an indictment of slavery.
Benito Cereno : Slavery and Violence in the Americas is Joyce Adler s analysis of
Melville s story. While agreeing with Schiffman that Melville wrote an anti slavery book, she
goes beyond her predecessor by claiming that Melville intended to show intricacies of the
master/slave relationship and the violence that slavery breeds. Adler argues that the master
and slave are inseparable, irreconcilable, and interchangeable (82). She points out that Babo
frees himself and subsequently enslaves his former master, Don Benito. She says that
Delano s statement, Ah, this slavery breeds ugly passions in man, is Melville s indictment
of the practice (86). Adler does not accept Schiffman s color analysis. She contends that black
19. and white are merely opposites and have no significance other than their relative positions in
the master/slave relationship. She also places the story in a much broader historical context.
She concludes that Benito Cereno is Melville s attempt to warn the United States of its
critical flaw: slavery. To this end, Adler includes exhaustive evidence that Melville linked
Spain and the United States in the characters of

feel almost like real pumpkins, even though I know they are made of Styrofoam or metal. When this
picture was taken, it was the day before Labor Day, and there were a lot of people at Bath and Body
Works trying to catch a bargain.
You can also see many fall decorations in the picture. There are artificial leaves hanging in the right
corner of the picture. The leaves look like they could be a part of a real tree. They are in mid transition
between green and colors like brown and red. Like I have previously mentioned, there are a
substantial amount of pumpkins in the picture that make you think of fall. Fall is my favorite time of
the year because there are so many colors, and the trees lose their leaves. If you walk on the sidewalk
during fall, the leaves will crunch underneath your feet as you walk. I also like fall because my
birthday is October, and Halloween takes place. Bath and Body Works even makes Halloween themed

1899, 1901). Freud (1914) suggested that when someone is unable to have memories from childhood
it could be used as a defence shutting off memories. Although I am not attempting to review the

unconscious processes which establishes a link between the physical symptoms of hysteria and

conclusion the unconscious processes use dreams to express hidden wish fulfilment.

day with a stick, a piece of yarn, and a berry to catch the fish. In fact he caught a trout that shined in
the sun, but what was really surprising was that the trout turned into a glimmering girl. Not only did
the fish turn into a girl but also it called his name 3 times before vanishing off ,but what I don t
understand is how did that girl even know his name in the first place. Since Aengus fell in love with
the girl he decided to follow her which is also strange because he does not know this girl which is
practically a stranger. Also he had stated in the last paragraph, Though I am old with wandering,

24. Essay about Yahoo Vs. Lycos
Yahoo! Vs. Lycos
When searching on the Internet, one may find it difficult sometimes to know where to start. With the
seemingly limitless amount of information, one should use the resource suitable for the searcher s
needs and tastes. Comparing different factors like databases, directory types, strengths and weaknesses
of two search engines, such as Yahoo! and Lycos, can provide an advantage to someone looking for a
starting block.
To start with, one of the oldest search engines on the web, Lycos continues to thrive mainly by
providing a mix of features. As the trend with the other major search tools, Lycos consists of a
conglomeration of databases, online services, and other Internet properties.
In terms of general searching, Lycos ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
and selective listings, and the Open Directory Project quickly develops a somewhat comparable data
base that benefits from a marginal amount of quality control.
Basically, the only limitations of Lycos as a truly great search engine include the slow refresh rate of
its database, the lack of direct Boolean searching, and its need to provide relevant results and
eliminate redundant pages.
On the other hand, Yahoo! continues by far as the most popular way to find information on the web of
any of the search engines and directories. With one of the smallest databases, Yahoo! gets more traffic
than Lycos and AltaVista put together.
Yahoo! enjoys success because its quality control is high, providing users with high quality links
without all the redundant listings that plague so many of the search engines, such as Lycos. Yahoo!
constitutes more of a directory, not a search engine, making it possible to look up information within
categories. In many of the search engines, a search responds to the whims of the particular algorithm
used by the engine and depends on how well the pages match the search engines criteria, regardless of
the actual real life relevancy of the page and site content. In contrast, Yahoo! uses people instead of a
computer algorithm to ensure that sites displayed appropriately, only lists valid sites, and generally
only the home page of a site.
While some consider Yahoo! one of the best ways to find information on the net, it does have a

26. Poetic Writing In The Memorial Tablet By George Sassoon
In The Memorial Tablet , Sassoon is representing his views as a soldier who died in World War 1. The
soldier is forced to fight for something he doesn t believe in. It says Squire nagged and bullied until I
went to fight . Sassoon s choice of verbs nagged and bullied emphasizes how much the squire wants
the soldier to join and how much the soldier doest want to join.
The soldier hates the war, he says I died in hell , this implies that the honorable death that the young

28. Explain How To Repair Your Own Faucet
Repairing your own faucet may seem intimidating, but once you learn the fundamentals, today s
faucets are not that hard to fix. In fact, usually the most difficult step is finding the correct replacement
parts. The necessary tools will vary a bit depending on the type of faucet you re repairing. An Allen
wrench will probably be needed to remove the handle. With a small set of small Allen wrenches, you
ll be ready for any faucet. Most repairs also require large slip joint pliers and screwdrivers.
For all faucet repairs, make sure to examine the faucet closely, before you begin, to determine the
source of the leak. Leaks originating from near the base of the spout will require a different repair than
a leak from the end.
Next, turn off the water supply to the faucet. The shutoff valves are probably located under the sink. If

pad to clean the surface. Soaking mineral deposits in vinegar will loosen them right up.
Slow water flow? That can be caused by plugged holes in the faucet body. A small screwdriver or
penknife can be used to clean them out. Before you replace worn parts and put the faucet back
together, hold a rag over the faucet and open the water shutoff valve slightly to flush out debris that
may have accumulated during the cleaning.
Once the faucet is reassembled, open the faucet and slowly open the shutoff valves to turn on the

(UCLR) commonly known as Tommy John surgery, is performed on both recreational and high level
athletes, (Erickson, Nwachukwu, Rosas, Schairer, McCormick, Bach Jr, Romeo, 2015). This
procedure is commonly done on pitchers, because of the excessive use of their throwing arm, affecting
the elbow. The process consists of replacing a ligament in the elbow with a tendon from another area
of the body or from cadavers. When someone has Tommy John surgery they are no longer able to
participate in baseball for one year. However, with the advances in this medical procedure, it has
extended the careers of numerous pitchers, and in some cases improved their pitching. Due to the
possibility of enhanced results, a troubling trend has developed in youth baseball. Parents and coaches
are encouraging their players to go under the knife in their early teens just so they will not have to
worry about elbow issues in the future. High school players who are perfectly healthy are having this
procedure done at an alarming rate.

32. The Metaphysic Of Abstract Particulars
Introduction: In this paper I will present the arguments for tropes and their distinction from universals
and particulars as presented by Keith Campbell in his paper The Metaphysic of Abstract Particulars. I
will then present a counter argument to Campbell s evaluation and provide possible responses to those
arguments. I will also provide possible adjustments Campbell could make to create a more sound
argument.
Campbell s Argument:
Since Plato, two mutually exclusive yet essential categories of reality have been posited, one of
concrete particulars and the other being abstract universals. Particulars are unproblematic, but
universals may be entirely extant in many positions with no influence on the universal itself. A
particular distinguishing mark is that is exhausted in the one embodiment, or occasion, or example.
(Campbell 298) Particulars are unproblematic because they are restricted to a single point at any given
time, not like universals which exist in different locations and are wholly present in those instances.
The number of examples which contain the abstract universals are not diminished in quality of the
universal. Campbell posits that this problem can be alleviated if properties were not universal at all.
There is a distinction between abstract and concrete which differs from the distinction between
universals and particulars. This is because particulars and universals can both be abstract where only
particulars can be concrete. The particulars that

33. Addiction And Drug Abuse
Many aspects contribute to an individual s ability to resist drug use and most importantly addiction,
significantly fueling the debate whether it is nature or nurture that is the primary consideration in
understanding addiction (Crofton, Zhang, Green, 2015). Addiction is a disease based on the ability of
drugs and their use to alter a person s brain and behavior whereby they compulsively seek drugs
despite any other associated risk (Stanis Andersen, 2014). Drug use is thought to alter the brain s
dopamine surges where receptors for dopamine are reduced (Stanis Andersen, 2014). However,
despite substantial research that supports addiction as a disease, controversy exists in that it is usually
the individual who initially chooses to use drugs. Numerous observers support that is this primary
voluntary choice that makes it difficult for some to see drugs addicts as anything other than criminal.
Otherwise, drug use would probably be legal, and there would be few drug crimes. Focusing on
resilience may be a consideration that could find support over a broader spectrum of beliefs.
Resilience will be discussed.
Genetics and environmental factors play an import role in deterring a person s vulnerability to
addiction (Crofton, Zhang, Green, 2015). Understanding resistance thereby swaying the potential
choice that leads to the chronic disease of addiction would perhaps benefit society the more than new
laws and new prisons. Moreover, understanding environmental enrichment

35. Introduction to Forensic Investigations
Locard s Exchange Principle and the use of Fingerprints: Edmond Locard (1877 1966) was a French
scientist specialised in both medicine and law. Inspired by the work of Hans Gross, it was Edmond
that created the concept that all objects of any material should leave traces of itself upon whatever it
touches, even if it is the minutest amount, simply put as Every Contact leaves a trace, Locard (1923).
This is commonly known as Locard s Exchange Principle. He believed that in circumstances such as a
crime, his principle could be used to find evidence of who and perhaps even how that crime was
committed by finding small materials, either physical or chemical at the scene of the crime that would
directly link back to the offender. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even when they get packed away in boxes they could chip on the handle. Everything can affect an
objects uniquness. If a window is pryed open to gain entry to building, the screwdriver used to pry it
open will share different properties to every other. By studying the `striation` marks on a window, we
will clearly be able to see that there are a certain number of grooves that make the mark. By
comparing this to the screwdriver that was found in a suspects house, this could show that this was the
screwdriver was used in the offence. This could then be used as evidence in court to prosecute the said
suspect. Individualisation is pretty much based upon inductive reasoning; which is used a lot in
Forensic Investigations. By saying we have never seen two screwdrivers the same leads us to believe
that there are no two screwdrivers in the world. The same refers to the uniqueness of fingerprints, a
pair has never been found; but if a pair was ever to be found, this would mean the entire theory of
individualisation would fall apart. Referring back to Popper s work on falsifiability, is it possible to
prove that this theory can be wrong? In order to do so you would have to check every single item of
that class ever made in great detail. This is too much to check on and so there is no way we can prove
this test to be false. Paul Leland Kirk believed that individualisation was a key idea in Forensic
Investigations and stated that

36. Alimony Spousal Support
Spousal support, or alimony, is based on an outdated social tradition that it is a man s responsibility to
support women because they are weaker, incapable of being equal to men, and better equipped to raise
children. However, this is not the case in today s society and our alimony laws need to be changed to
reflect modern times.
Spousal support traces its roots back to a time when divorce was considered rare and indissoluble. As
a result, a husband and wife remained married even after they had been physically separated. Since the
marriage was permanently binding, a husband still maintained a financial obligation to his wife, even
if they didn t live together. This is the reason why spousal support is almost always associated with a

However, with the advent of the women s rights movement as well as the current feminist era, women
have gained greater independence and opportunities not available to previous generations. Ca Fam
Code §4320 is fast becoming obsolete, and as a result, has become discriminatory towards men.
In the case of Orr v. Orr 440 U.S. 268 (1979), an Alabama man was ordered to pay alimony to his ex
wife pursuant to Alabama statues which stated that husbands, not wives, are required to pay alimony
upon divorce. The man appealed to the Alabama Court of Appeals, insisting that his constitutional
rights had been violated. The State of Alabama sustained the constitutionality of the statues and the
man then decided to appeal to the United States Supreme Court, where the State s decision was then
reversed and remanded. The man argued that the gender based scheme for alimony violated the equal
protection clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. The Court ruled on the basis that the State s
preference for wives having a dependent role to husbands in family responsibilities was not
substantially related to the important governmental objectives of assisting needy spouses (using sex as
a proxy for need) and removing disparity in economic conditions between men and women.
Additionally, the Court ruled that it was no longer feasible to compensate women based on the notion
that marriage left them unprepared to support themselves following a divorce.

The United Kingdom will not join the single European currency with the first wave of countries on 1
January 1999. The Chancellor of the Exchequer, Gordon Brown, said in October that, although the
government supported the principle of the single currency, Britain would not be ready to join at least
until the second wave of countries join in 2002. He added that the UK should, however, begin to
prepare for monetary union.
There are many possible advantages and disadvantages that the government had to consider:
Advantages:
1. A single currency should end currency instability in the participating countries (by irrevocably
fixing exchange rates) and reduce it outside them. Because the Euro would have the enhanced
credibility of being used in a large currency zone, it would be more stable against speculation than
individual currencies are now. An end to internal currency instability and a reduction of external
currency instability would enable exporters to project future markets with greater certainty. This will
unleash a greater potential for growth.
