Group Superiority In The United States
1.) Competing global markets can make prices of the products we buy decrease. If your produce is
cheaper, then which of the following is most likely to be true? a. The U. S. government lowered taxes
on produce as part of a healthy eating initiative. b. Someone else is paying for the difference in their
unearned income. c. The farmers that grew the produce sold it to the grocery store at a cheaper cost,
and thus they are making less money on it. d. There is a surplus of produce for that harvest season.
Answer b. is correct due to the information on conflict theory found on pages 28 29, which states, In
each society, some small group controls the means of production and exploits those who are not in
control. The store owner and the farmers being the controlling group, and the workers are those who
are exploited. The theory being the choice of the controlling group would be to exploit the weaker
group before sacrificing their own financial gain. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

In 1989, GSM responsibility was transferred to the European Telecommunications Standards Institute
(ETSI).The phase I of the GSM specifications were published in 1990. The first GSM network was
launched in 1991 by Radiolinja in Finland. By the end of 1993, over a million subscribers were using
GSM phone networks. The growth of cellular telephone systems started in the early 1980s,
particularly in being operated by 70 carriers across 48 countries.
The Global System for Mobile communications (GSM: originally from Group Special Mobile) is the
most popular standard for mobile phones in the world. GSM service is used by over 2 billion people
across more than 212 countries and territories. The ubiquity of the GSM standard makes international
roaming very common between mobile phone operators, enabling subscribers to use their phones in
many parts of the world. From the point of view of the consumers, the key advantage of GSM systems
has been higher digital voice quality and low cost alternatives to making calls such as the Short
Message Service (SMS). The advantage for network operators has been the ability to deploy
equipment from different vendors because the open standard allows easy inter operability. Like other
cellular standards GSM allows network operators to offer roaming services which mean subscribers
can use their phones all over the world.
GSM is a cellular network, which means that

The Negative Effects Of Technology In Modern Society
Throughout the past couple decades, cell phones and laptops have become a large part of daily life for
most human beings. In fact, in today s society it is rare to find someone who does not own some sort
of cellular device. Although technology has many useful perks, it is beginning to deteriorate our
society s social skills and social life. Teenagers in today s world are too digitally connected, and this
brings along the negative effects of a decrease in real life conversation, increased laziness, and more
distractions in a number of different environments. The increased use of technology in modern society
is leading to a decrease in real life conversation. In The Negative Impacts of Social Media on Face to
Face Interactions, it states, Since it has become more prevalent, social media has made people have a
tendency to want to interact with people online rather than in person because it has made the process
simpler. From my own experiences, this is true. I have seen multitudes of my friends struggle to
interact with others in person because they have become so used to texting them. As texting becomes
normal for more people, having real life conversations will become more awkward and difficult
because they are not practicing that skill. Due to teenagers being too digitally connected, there has
been an increase in laziness. Because technology does a lot of the work for this generation, there has
been a decrease in doing things the old fashioned way. In the article, 7

Evaluating The Concept Of Positioning Essay
We currently live in an over communicated world and with all the buzz, it is hard for people to absorb
new information then default to what they already know. Positioning is what you do to the mind of the
prospect (Ries). The concept of positioning is fascinating to me that companies need to get inside the
mind of the consumer to ensure growth. Some example where it is easier to know who the first person
was in a vast variety of industry and how no one cares or knows the second and third people/
companies. The concept is boundless how to be successful in today s markets you need to be creative.
His version of creativity is to find something that does not exist in the mind or if it does then find
another way to manipulate something that already exist. I agree with a majority of the viewpoints it
still true in today s markets, if a company is not innovated then it will die. Markets today have
crowded with billions of products that copy each other to make money. An example would be china
making fake products from a famous designer. The problem with this there is way too much
competition and people want cheap and easy products. The positioning for this illegal practice
everyone knows the designer, but no one cares about the manufacturers. An over communicated
society is horrible since it harm brands or benefits brands. The new way of advertising is to be
selective to be effective. I have come to an understanding that by targeting a select group of people it
will help expand

Advantages And Disadvantages Of A Cold Deformation Process...
Cold deformation process of metals causes distortion of crystalline structure. When a material is
formed, the grains are usually distorted and elongated in one or more directions which make the
material anisotropic. Anisotropy can be defined as a difference in a material s physical or mechanical
properties in different directions of taking of testing samples. In exploitation, it is very important to
recognize the direction of grain elongation so that the best orientation of working part can be chosen.
For that purpose ultrasonic testing is used. The ultrasonic velocity of the material is determined by
using a digital oscilloscope under condition that thickness of the material is known. Testing shows the
difference in wave velocity for different ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Usually used methods include cutting in two directions (transversal and longitudinal), and
microstructure scanning. These methods take a lot of time. This paper suggest the use of non
destructive testing methods that can offer faster response to basic question: what is the distortion
direction? Proposed method is ultrasonic testing.
Ultrasonic velocity is an important acoustic parameter that characterizes each material [1]. Ultrasonic
velocity in the material is determined by the type and condition of materials and external influences
such as temperature and strain.
He [2] dealt with the issue of measuring the speed of ultrasound in the material so that at the same
time are measured the speed of ultrasound and thickness of the material in several different tubes. For
this purpose, he conducted an analysis of time and frequency domain received signal. He listed all
theoretical influences on the accuracy of speed of ultrasound, but not experimentally determined or
estimated deviation of the actual values.
Ali [3] carried out measuring the longitudinal and transverse ultrasonic velocity in the standard block
and on that experimental basis he determined mechanical properties of the reference standard and
calculated modulus of elasticity of

Characteristics, Issues And Trends Of The Region From An...
This report has been conducted on the East Asia region based on the information provided by the
universities of Kansas State and Massey. The focus of this report is to identify and describe important
characteristics, issues and trends of the region from an agricultural perspective. To provide an
introduction and insight first a brief summary of East Asia will be provided.
East Asia includes approximately 15 countries, within this there is a population of 1.974 billion
people. Of the total population 51% live within rural areas resulting in agriculture making up 11% of
GDP, which is considerably more than the likes of the US (1% of GDP). There is considerable
diversity between countries within East Asia. There are major differences between country s GDP per
capita and economic development, resulting in distinctive high, middle and low per capita GDP
groups as shown in figure 1. New Zealand in comparison would be in the high per capita group with a
GDP of $36,200. The East Asia countries in which agriculture makes up largest proportion of their
GDP are within the lower to middle GDP band and are Vietnam with 22%, Indonesia with 15% and
Thailand with 12%. Whereas in comparison to the likes of Japan who has the highest GDP per capita
within the region, agriculture only represents 1%. It can also be seen that the risk of investment
increases in East Asia as incomes reduce and that the middle income countries have considerable
growth potential.

Book Review of People of the Three Fires Essay
Book Review of People of the Three Fires
The book, People of the Three Fires, is written by three different people each describing a tribe in
detail. The book is very well written and relatively easy to understand. It is informative and was
written to be used as a teaching tool for schools. The book discusses the relationship between the
groups that lived in Michigan and surrounding areas.
James M. McClurken writes the first section, which deals with the Ottawa people. McClurken tells
about the Ottawa peoples relationship with the environment they lived in and how they adapted to
change when contacted by Europeans. One thing I found interesting about the Ottawa is their beliefs.
The Ottawa believed in respect for the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

the Ottawa in the Treaty of 1855. While I feel bad that the Ottawa were cheated out of their land, I don
t think I should have to give up my house to right a 150 year old wrong.
Dr. James A. Clifton wrote the Pottawatomi section of People of the Three Fires. Clifton discusses the
same aspects of Potawatomi life as McClurken for the Ottawa. An interesting group of people the
Potawatomi held a certain advantage as they moved south from northern Michigan. Because they were
neighbors of the Chippewa and Ottawa they had the knowledge that tribes further south did not have.
The Potawatomi knew how to build birch bark canoes so trade was far easier for them than for the
Sauk or Fox. They thrived on the Mexican Trinity of beans corn and squash. They were also
accomplished hunters and fishermen. In the beginning they were farmers but they soon became
interested in the herds of buffalo that roamed the plains just south of them. Then no meal was
complete without some red meat. A description that I took to heart was that on page 50 explaining the

Persuasive Essay On Newlyweds
Can anybody find me, somebody, to love? Freddy passionately sings in every performance with the
band Queen. In a hectic world, it is easy to put finding love on the backburner of life. Money, social
gatherings, educational pursuits and career ambitions are all important in life, but can sometimes be
the reason for leaving love in the dust. Getting married young can be a great way to establish yourself
to live a happy, enjoyable, successful life with someone you love. There are many critical decisions at
this stage in life that will impact a newlywed s future together. Preparing for a wedding is quite the
burden to be taken on for young couples who may be at university; or perhaps, already started their
career, but if they know it is what they want to do there is no question if the stress and pressure are
worth it. One of the most stressful decisions for young newlywed couples is where to spend their
honeymoon, rest assured the answer is here: all young newlyweds should go on a cruise for their
honeymoon.
A major reason for young newlyweds to go on a cruise for their honeymoon is because of the
relaxation and rejuvenation they will receive. The revitalization is needed, for planning for a wedding
can stress a couple out for months, in addition to the everyday stresses of life. Many critics may attest
that going on a cruise can be the opposite of relaxing because of the hundreds of other passengers. A
great benefit of going on a cruise with many other people is that we can

Key Problems Associated With Titanium Machining And The...
Ezugwu and Wang (1997) presented a review on the main problems associated with titanium
machining, including tool wear and the mechanism responsible for tool failure. They suggest that
uncoated carbides (WC/Co) cutting tools are better than most coated cutting tools for machining a
titanium alloy. The high chemical reactivity of titanium causes welding of work piece material on the
cutting tool during machining, leading to chipping and premature tool failure. The prominent failure
modes in titanium machining were: notching, flank wear, crater wear, chipping, and catastrophic
failure. Different tool materials have different response to different wear mechanism. Crater wear is
closely related to the chemical composition of the cutting tool. The conclusions presented by this
researcher, they suggest that dissolution diffusion wear dominates on the rake and flank face for
uncoated cemented carbides used for the turning of titanium alloys. At very high cutting speeds and
temperatures, the conclusion is that plastic deformation and development of cracks due to thermal
shock will be the dominating wear mechanisms. Change of feed rate, depth of cut or cutting speed
give changes in the wear rates. They also suggest that cutting fluids have to be used during titanium
machining to minimize high stresses and temperatures. The cutting fluid has to work both as coolant
and lubricating agent to lower the cutting forces and avoid chip welding, which is a phenomenon often
experienced during

A Brief Note On The Country Of Togo
In the country of Togo, the people who live there generally live more to the South and along the major
North South highway that connects the coast to the Sahel River (State department, 2005). They mainly
speak French, but the people in the South speak either Ewe or Mina (State Department, 2005). The
ones who speak the Ewe language, moved to Togo by crossing the Niger River valley during the 12th
and 14th centuries (State Department, 2005). In the 15th and 16th centuries, Togo was known as The
Slave Coast because over the next 200 years, European explorers traveled there in search for slaves

they are being put into child trafficking, they are afraid to go to school, and there are very few people

The Account Of My Ten Foot Square Hut Analysis
East Asian religious texts are filled with numerous valuable lessons that 21st century readers can now

Tale of Genji and The Account of my Ten Foot Square Hut, both include the two main themes of
attachment and suffering within their stories. The Tale of Genji, was written by a famous Japanese
female author, named Murasaki Shikibu. The tale follows an imperial prince, named Hikaru Genji,
which begins by depicting Genji secretly visiting his foster mother, a sick nun. He immediately gets

By secluding in nature, this monk is able to analyze the city, thus indicating everyone s necessity to
own homes that are bigger than ten square feet. This can be related to the notion that city people think
they need more space and things to fill their homes because their life is based around attachments that
aim to showcase their prominence and ignore its true basic purpose to provide shelter (32). Moreover,
the size of one s house is certainly funded by one s attachment to money and their career (Theme 9
Lecture 3, Mar.19).Therefore, cities remain to be the symbols of impurity and attachment because of
the wealth one can gain in it (Theme 3 Lecture 3, Jan. 26). However, a bodhisattva in Buddhism
would choose to not attach themselves to anything, like sages part of the religious tradition of Daoism

and less possessions, which is similar to beliefs of Bodhisattva s (Theme 3 Lecture 1, Jan.22; Theme 5

monk states, Loving couples the one whose love was deeper always died first.... In families, parents

These business sell the most by the demand of the consumer, this allows the easiest profit for a short
run. Oligopoly means that an industry is dominated by a small number of sellers with market power.
They can limit and discount competition. A good example are the cell phone companies such as
Verizon or Sprint. They are their own competition and the government only regulates them but does
not intervene with their sales practices. Monopoly markets used to be the way of the past. Companies
had only one provider who offers a good or a service. Monopolies have no one to compete against nor
did it allow others to get in the competition race with its product. As a monopoly the company can set
price, and who to sell it to. It does not allow others to emulate what it sells. The monopolies don t
have competitors so they mostly maintain their customers. The National Football League is somewhat
an example. They have exclusive rights to sell goods, they have no competition and most of the
products sold are solemnly offered by or through them. If any other business uses their logo they must
pay a fee.
There is an Army base in Fort Lee Virginia. Although it is believed to belong to the U.S government,
the agencies departments and firms that well work within it are structured as markets which provide
for the city. It belong to a monopoly but it can also be considered to operate as an oligopoly. Some of

Britain, which imposed a minor taxation of official seals and stamps, legal documents and newspapers
for its main purpose of generating a suffice amount of revenue to compensate for the expensive Seven

colonists without their authorization. This unauthorized act resulted in the colonists opposition and
argument that they are being forcibly taxed without representation, which later led to the sentiment of
fear rising within the colonies. Because the colonists apprehension of taxes ascending, rebellious acts

therefore, they retried by passing another Parliament Act called the Townshend Act. The Townshend
Acts were a small tax on specific items such as sugar, glass, and tea. In spite of this, colonists resorted
to widespread economic boycotting, causing British collected taxes to drop what is now worth roughly

Parliament to send troops to the colonies in order to prevent repeated violence and avoid colony riots,

Both the administration of Carter and Reagan were shaped by the Cold War in the aftermath of
Watergate. Watergate created cynicism of the government, which in turn made governing difficult both

the best interest of itself. President Jimmy Carter and President Ronald Reagan both had their

The Hutcheson Case Study
Based on the way the boys were found, hog tied and cut, as well as rumors that started floating
around, police started to suspect that the crime might have been part of a cult ritual. Damien Echols
had been known to listen to satanic music and possibly was part of a satanic cult although he denied
any affiliation with a cult or with the crime. Jason Baldwin was a friend of Echols however he was
different in that he excelled in school and out of the three teenagers probably had the best shot of
going to college and making a life for himself. Jesse Misskelly Jr. didn t really know Echols or
Baldwin but Vicki Hutcheson, a woman who helped police with the search thought he might have
some information on the case. Hutcheson played a crucial roll in the investigation as she gave
testimony of her knowledge that the teens had committed the murder. Misskelly, who had an
extremely low IQ and was a minor, was questioned for about twelve hours. At the end of the
questioning he confessed to the crimes and told the police he had acted with Echols and Baldwin as ...

One situation that was brought to light was that a knife had been found belonging to John Mark Byers,
who was Christopher Byers stepfather. There was blood on the knife that was consistent with both
Christopher s and John s blood, however, the police never looked any further into it (Choate, 2015).
The crime scene itself was absolutely a mess, as the police did not wait for a medical examiner to
check the bodies before dragging them out of the creek, which left them susceptible to the sun and
insects. A few years after the teens had been convicted, it was noticed in the crime scene photos that
one of the boys, Steve Branch, appeared to have bite marks on his forehead. The dental records from
Echols, Baldwin and Misskelly did not match that of the photographs and John Mark Byers had his

Whenever a spouse incur expenses related to home improvement, but he is the only one reaping

Theme Of Justice In The Oresteia
Finding Peace Within Justice If you want peace, work for justice. Pope Paul VI. The Oresteia trilogy,
which contains the plays Agamemnon, The Libation Bearers, and The Furies, uses justice as its
dominant theme. Aeschylus wrote these plays sometime after the end of the Persian wars, around 449
BC, when the star of Athens was on its superiority. It was the commencement of a new era, marked by
the establishment of a new social and political order built on democracy and the rule of law. The rule
of law designed the institutionalization of justice. Justice was not a personal responsibility to be
handed out according to the rule of family dispute of blood for blood anymore. It was now a state
responsibility representing the community as a whole that the law was set down. It was an
advancement in the direction of realizing a more peaceful and orderly existence. Though, this
institutionalization of justice was also an advancement in the ... Show more content on

In the first play, Agamemnon, Clytemnestra murders Agamemnon to retaliate for the sacrifice he made
of their daughter, Iphigenia. Clytemnestra did this out of revenge, since the code of getting even
demanded that someone s murder must be avenged by their close blood relative. This called for
torment at the hands of the Furies, who were female divinities of a terrible frightening aspect, that
came upon anyone who murdered a close blood relative. In the second play, The Libation Bearers,
Orestes kills Clytemnestra to avenge the murder of Agamemnon. This act is still maintaining the
revenge principle, but it is committed primarily at the instigation of Apollo. Apollo takes center stage
in the third play, The Furies, to argue in defense of Orestes in a trial supervised by Athena. This
ultimately leads to the end of revenge killing and the establishment of a new order of justice based on

Breastfeeding In Public Essay
What could possibly be wrong about a mother nourishing her child? Absolutely nothing. Many people
view a woman s breasts as sexual items. The main purpose of breasts Is to breastfeed a child after
birth. I came across The Milk Truck while back. The Milk Truck is there to create a mobile
breastfeeding unit that allows mothers to feed their babies in places where they have been discouraged

Some states have laws so strict that asking a nursing mother to stop, cover up, or move elsewhere is a
violation of her civil rights and gives her grounds to sue for damages in a court of law .
Babies who are not breastfed in places other than home will eventually become used to only being fed
in one place. Therefore the nourishing mother will basically become house bound. It is important for
women to get out of the house following birth, so they don t become depressed and feel cut off from
the rest of the world. According to The American Academy of Pediatrics The AAP recommends that
babies be exclusively breastfed for about the first 6 months of life. Babies should continue to
breastfeed for a year and for as long as is mutually desired by the mother and baby . During these first
6 months the mother should be dedicated to supplying breast milk whenever and wherever she and her
infant feel appropriate. Why should a mother be segregated from her everyday life during her nursing
period just to make others feel comfortable ?
For the most part women cover themselves with a shawl, a wrap, or a cover of some sort while
breastfeeding. If not they make sure that they are not exposed in any way. Breastfeeding saves

Agricultural Literacy In Agriculture
Agriculture is a staple of every community, people have just lost sight of that. Smith and Park (2006)
report, In 1900, 41% of the American population was employed in agriculture, as compared to 1.9% of
the population in 2002 . How have we become so far removed from the agricultural life that we
believe the propaganda spread about it? Smith and Park (2006) explain why ignorance to agricultural
life has thrived,
Agricultural literacy is an issue that has gained attention in recent years and is a subject of concern to
those in the agriculture business. With fewer agricultural programs offered in schools, generations of
young people are being raised with little knowledge of agriculture. As this cycle continues, lack of
knowledge creates and perpetuates stereotypes concerning farming.
The disconnect between the urban public and rural communities has caused a lot of misunderstandings
on how their food is produced. Balschweid, Thompson, and Cole (1998) state,
As general concerns rise over the way our food is produced, public impressions are tainted by the
actions of special interest groups (Lichte Birkenholz, 1993). As a result, many Americans elect and
influence lawmakers to directly intervene in the practices used in producing our food and fiber
(Hamlin,1962). Because this nation is two full generations removed from living and working on
farms, lawmakers cannot be expected to make informed decisions regarding the safe and appropriate
production of our food supply (Flood

Essay On The Nomination Process
Nonetheless, the difference in party alignment has clear implications for the nomination process.
During the nomination process, you are facing other members of your party to fight for the single
nomination for the general election. This means you have to fight over voters with quite similar
ideologies. This would exclude the extreme number of people from the other party, and perhaps many
people who are in the middle and cannot decide which way to lean yet. Due to this, candidates must
strategize their rhetoric and conduct to appeal to the most extreme members of the party. Studies have
shown that the people who vote in primary elections are in general more highly educated, and indicate
more party activism/pride (Lecture Notes).
For as long as this process has seemed to get the job done, people this election cycle have been

Is Okonkwo A Tragic Hero
Aristotle says a tragic hero is someone who makes a decision that inadvertently brings an end to their
life. In Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe the main character Okonkwo is considered a tragic hero,
he faces all his challenges with great Courage and Pride. But all of his challenges he brought upon
himself because of his tragic flaw, which is his hatred for his father Unoka. Unoka was a lazy drunk
with no titles, this hatred drove Okonkwo to become a very good man. He became one of the greatest

liability, tax implications, and what type of business is being evaluated when determining what
structure to use. This paper will cover the advantages and disadvantages within the four types of
business structures; Limited Liability Corporations, Corporations, Partnerships, and Sole

Partnerships A Partnership is a business form that consists of two or more individuals. There are two
types of partnerships; general and limited. General partners are liable for the full extent of debts and
obligations within the business. Limited partnerships provide individuals with a limitation of
responsibilities in the organization s liability; this type of partnership is dependent upon the
investment percentage. Advantages of partnerships consist of cost efficiency, shared financial
responsibility, complementary skill association, and offer employees partnership incentives.
Disadvantages of partnerships are joint and individual liability, disagreements between partners, and
shared profits ( U.S. Small Business Administration, 2013). Sole Proprietorship
A Sole Proprietorship is one owner. The advantages of a sole proprietorship exist in the simplicity of
taxes, cost efficiency in the startup process, and complete control of the organization. A sole
proprietorship structure is the simplest method of establishing a business, the expenses are low and
fewer licensing is required. A sole proprietor is responsible for the final decisions and directions of the
business. The taxes are reported through the individual at a much lower rate than any of the other
structures. The disadvantages of a sole proprietorship are the personal liability risks and capital; the
individual absorbs all legal implications within the

in danger of being affected by them. This occurs in many instances in Joseph Conrad s novel, Heart of
Darkness. There are also many themes in Heart of Darkness, many of them circulating around the idea

G1 Cell Cycle
G1 is the first growth phase of the cell cycle. In G1, the cell prepares to undergo cell division. The cell
still performs all of its normal functions, but starts to get bigger. The cell then begins to make a copy
of the cell parts (organelles). It also begins to produce RNA and synthesize proteins to get ready to

Miss Brill Essay
In the short story, Miss Brill by Katherine Mansfield, is a story about a day in the life of Miss Brill.
Miss Brill has a huge imagination and lets her mind wander far from reality. The story reveals how
Miss Brill sees herself through her own eyes, a glamorous actress who likes to think of herself as
needed. Then it continues to reveal how Miss Brill is actually seen in reality through everyone else s
eyes, a shy, lonely, old lady that is infact not needed at all. The differences from Miss Brill s actual life
and her life she imagines is very different. Every Sunday Miss Brill enjoys her visits to the park,
where she observes all that goes on around her (Peltier 17). Miss Brill sits in her special seat and
watches the band play while observing everyone who walks by. After spending all afternoon at the
gardens, she would walk home. On her way ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Miss Brill looks as though everything is fine from the outside, such as, Money, though not plentiful,
doesn t seem to worry her. She is in good health; her senses are alert. No fights or angers poison her
outlook; no cruel, overbearing men establish limits for her. And yet, her condition of isolation is so
extreme that one thoughtless bit of cruelty is capable of wrecking everything. (Mandel 19 24).
Looking at Miss Brill s life, it is not apparent that she lives her life all alone. At the end of her Sunday
afternoons, Miss Brill ..climbs the stairs, into the little dark room her room like a cupboard and [sits]
down on the red eiderdown. She [sits] there for a long time. The box that the fur came out of was on
the bed. She unclasped the necklet quickly; quickly, without looking, laid it inside. But when she put
the lid on, she thought she heard something crying. (Mansfield 58 59). Miss Brill pretends to hear the
fur cry, but in reality it s actually her own

Three Most Influential People In Ender s Game By Orson...
The Three Most Influential People in Ender s Life In the award winning novel Ender s Game by
Orson Scott Card there are many characters that influence Ender throughout his travels. Ender is
influenced in one way or another by just about every person he comes into contact with. Most of these
influences, however, are very subtle and do not make a direct or dramatic change in his life. There are
three main people that Ender spends a lot of time with that influence him the most. The first character
that influenced Ender was Peter, his older brother. All throughout their early childhoods, Peter would
force Ender into playing cruel games similar to cops and robbers or Cowboys and Indians, but this
was Buggers and humans. Ender was always the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He was Ender s private teacher once he got to the I.F. Academy. He told Ender that he was the enemy
and never to trust him. Ender never knew when Mazar was going to turn on him or help him, and this
taught Ender to never trust anyone completely, because of this he became more self reliant and it kept
him on his toes. Mazar also taught Ender all of his knowledge on his defeat of the buggers in the
second invasion. Ender studied classified information and played the simulation game with his crew,
who, as it turned out, were all his good friends from battle school. Then all of a sudden it switched to
actual battles with the buggers with real lives at stake, but Ender was never told. Then finally, through
Mazar s wonderful teachings, Ender reached the final battle with the Buggers. Ender and his fleet
were outnumbered 10,000 to one. Ender thought it was incredibly unfair and thought that Mazar had
programmed the simulation. Also, with people in uniforms watching on, Ender felt uneasy. Finally he
decided that he didn t care what happened and it didn t matter, so he decided to fly in to the home
planet and use the largest and most powerful weapon. Ender blew up the planet and all of the
surrounding ships. At this point everyone in the room began cheering and Ender finally realized that
these simulations were actual battles in the final invasion of the Bugger home world. Ender learned
from Mazar to do his best under

If your produce is cheaper, then which of the following is most likely to be true? a. The U. S. government lowered taxes on produce as part of a healthy eating initiative. b. Someone else is paying for the difference in their unearned income. c. The farmers that grew the produce sold it to the grocery store at a cheaper cost, and thus they are making less money on it. d. There is a surplus of produce for that harvest season. Answer b. is correct due to the information on conflict theory found on pages 28 29, which states, In each society, some small group controls the means of production and exploits those who are not in control. In 1989, GSM responsibility was transferred to the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI).The phase I of the GSM specifications were published in 1990. The first GSM network was launched in 1991 by Radiolinja in Finland. By the end of 1993, over a million subscribers were using GSM phone networks. The growth of cellular telephone systems started in the early 1980s, particularly in being operated by 70 carriers across 48 countries. The Global System for Mobile communications (GSM: originally from Group Special Mobile) is the most popular standard for mobile phones in the world. GSM service is used by over 2 billion people across more than 212 countries and territories. The ubiquity of the GSM standard makes international roaming very common between mobile phone operators, enabling subscribers to use their phones in many parts of the world. From the point of view of the consumers, the key advantage of GSM systems has been higher digital voice quality and low cost alternatives to making calls such as the Short Message Service (SMS). The advantage for network operators has been the ability to deploy equipment from different vendors because the open standard allows easy inter operability. Like other cellular standards GSM allows network operators to offer roaming services which mean subscribers can use their phones all over the world. GSM is a cellular network, which means that ... • 4. The Negative Effects Of Technology In Modern Society Throughout the past couple decades, cell phones and laptops have become a large part of daily life for most human beings. In fact, in today s society it is rare to find someone who does not own some sort of cellular device. Although technology has many useful perks, it is beginning to deteriorate our society s social skills and social life. Teenagers in today s world are too digitally connected, and this brings along the negative effects of a decrease in real life conversation, increased laziness, and more distractions in a number of different environments. The increased use of technology in modern society is leading to a decrease in real life conversation. In The Negative Impacts of Social Media on Face to Face Interactions, it states, Since it has become more prevalent, social media has made people have a tendency to want to interact with people online rather than in person because it has made the process simpler. From my own experiences, this is true. I have seen multitudes of my friends struggle to interact with others in person because they have become so used to texting them. As texting becomes normal for more people, having real life conversations will become more awkward and difficult because they are not practicing that skill. Due to teenagers being too digitally connected, there has been an increase in laziness. Because technology does a lot of the work for this generation, there has been a decrease in doing things the old fashioned way. In the article, 7 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Evaluating The Concept Of Positioning Essay We currently live in an over communicated world and with all the buzz, it is hard for people to absorb new information then default to what they already know. Positioning is what you do to the mind of the prospect (Ries). The concept of positioning is fascinating to me that companies need to get inside the mind of the consumer to ensure growth. Some example where it is easier to know who the first person was in a vast variety of industry and how no one cares or knows the second and third people/ companies. The concept is boundless how to be successful in today s markets you need to be creative. His version of creativity is to find something that does not exist in the mind or if it does then find another way to manipulate something that already exist. I agree with a majority of the viewpoints it still true in today s markets, if a company is not innovated then it will die. Markets today have crowded with billions of products that copy each other to make money. An example would be china making fake products from a famous designer. The problem with this there is way too much competition and people want cheap and easy products. The positioning for this illegal practice everyone knows the designer, but no one cares about the manufacturers. An over communicated society is horrible since it harm brands or benefits brands. The new way of advertising is to be selective to be effective. I have come to an understanding that by targeting a select group of people it will help expand ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In exploitation, it is very important to recognize the direction of grain elongation so that the best orientation of working part can be chosen. For that purpose ultrasonic testing is used. Usually used methods include cutting in two directions (transversal and longitudinal), and microstructure scanning. These methods take a lot of time. This paper suggest the use of non destructive testing methods that can offer faster response to basic question: what is the distortion direction? Proposed method is ultrasonic testing. Ultrasonic velocity is an important acoustic parameter that characterizes each material [1]. Ultrasonic velocity in the material is determined by the type and condition of materials and external influences such as temperature and strain. He [2] dealt with the issue of measuring the speed of ultrasound in the material so that at the same time are measured the speed of ultrasound and thickness of the material in several different tubes. For this purpose, he conducted an analysis of time and frequency domain received signal. He listed all theoretical influences on the accuracy of speed of ultrasound, but not experimentally determined or estimated deviation of the actual values. This report has been conducted on the East Asia region based on the information provided by the universities of Kansas State and Massey. The focus of this report is to identify and describe important characteristics, issues and trends of the region from an agricultural perspective. To provide an introduction and insight first a brief summary of East Asia will be provided. East Asia includes approximately 15 countries, within this there is a population of 1.974 billion people. Of the total population 51% live within rural areas resulting in agriculture making up 11% of GDP, which is considerably more than the likes of the US (1% of GDP). There is considerable diversity between countries within East Asia. There are major differences between country s GDP per capita and economic development, resulting in distinctive high, middle and low per capita GDP groups as shown in figure 1. New Zealand in comparison would be in the high per capita group with a GDP of $36,200. The East Asia countries in which agriculture makes up largest proportion of their GDP are within the lower to middle GDP band and are Vietnam with 22%, Indonesia with 15% and Thailand with 12%. Whereas in comparison to the likes of Japan who has the highest GDP per capita within the region, agriculture only represents 1%. It can also be seen that the risk of investment increases in East Asia as incomes reduce and that the middle income countries have considerable growth potential. Regional ... In a hectic world, it is easy to put finding love on the backburner of life. Money, social gatherings, educational pursuits and career ambitions are all important in life, but can sometimes be the reason for leaving love in the dust. Getting married young can be a great way to establish yourself to live a happy, enjoyable, successful life with someone you love. There are many critical decisions at this stage in life that will impact a newlywed s future together. Preparing for a wedding is quite the burden to be taken on for young couples who may be at university; or perhaps, already started their career, but if they know it is what they want to do there is no question if the stress and pressure are worth it. One of the most stressful decisions for young newlywed couples is where to spend their honeymoon, rest assured the answer is here: all young newlyweds should go on a cruise for their honeymoon. A major reason for young newlyweds to go on a cruise for their honeymoon is because of the relaxation and rejuvenation they will receive. The revitalization is needed, for planning for a wedding can stress a couple out for months, in addition to the everyday stresses of life. Many critics may attest that going on a cruise can be the opposite of relaxing because of the hundreds of other passengers. They suggest that uncoated carbides (WC/Co) cutting tools are better than most coated cutting tools for machining a titanium alloy. The high chemical reactivity of titanium causes welding of work piece material on the cutting tool during machining, leading to chipping and premature tool failure. The prominent failure modes in titanium machining were: notching, flank wear, crater wear, chipping, and catastrophic failure. Different tool materials have different response to different wear mechanism. Crater wear is closely related to the chemical composition of the cutting tool. The conclusions presented by this researcher, they suggest that dissolution diffusion wear dominates on the rake and flank face for uncoated cemented carbides used for the turning of titanium alloys. At very high cutting speeds and temperatures, the conclusion is that plastic deformation and development of cracks due to thermal shock will be the dominating wear mechanisms. Change of feed rate, depth of cut or cutting speed give changes in the wear rates. They also suggest that cutting fluids have to be used during titanium machining to minimize high stresses and temperatures. The cutting fluid has to work both as coolant and lubricating agent to lower the cutting forces and avoid chip welding, which is a phenomenon often experienced during ... This occurs in many instances in Joseph Conrad s novel, Heart of Darkness. There are also many themes in Heart of Darkness, many of them circulating around the idea of hypocrisy. As Kurtz fights against this with complete abandon of morals, he loses himself in debauchery and falls away into obscurity through the egregious pursuit of ivory. Conrad writes, But his soul was mad. Being alone in the wilderness, it had looked within itself and, by heavens I tell you, it had gone mad (Conrad 61). The cell then begins to make a copy of the cell parts (organelles). It also begins to produce RNA and synthesize proteins to get ready to divide. Tumor suppressor genes in normal cells act as braking signals during phase G1 of the cell cycle, to stop or slow the cell cycle before S phase. DNA microarrays can be used to detect DNA (as in comparative genomic hybridization), or detect RNA which is most commonly cDNA after reverse transcription that may or may not be translated into proteins. This is done through Fluorescent dyes. They are used to label the extracted mRNAs or amplified cDNAs from the tissue or cell samples to be analyzed. The DNA array is then hybridized with the labeled sample(s) by incubating, usually overnight, and then washing to remove non specific hybrids. A laser excites the attached fluorescent dyes to produce light which is detected by a confocal scanner. The scanner then generates a digital image from the excited microarray. The digital image is further processed by specialized software to transform the image of each spot to a numerical reading.
