The Shining Path Or El Sendero Luminos
Known as one of the most dangerous and violent terrorist organizations in the world, the Shining Path
or El Sendero Luminoso in Spanish was unique in various aspects. Although now considered a
menace to Peruvian society, the Shining Path remains at the revolutionary forefront of its time. Living
in an age of terror, Peru was a corrupted and disorderly country; the road to liberation was a far way to
go. For years, demagogic candidates turned into dictatorial leaders filled with an insatiable hunger for
dominant power rather than independence. Due to their trivial behaviors, they mainly spent money for
military forces and drugs; but failed to provide the simplest needs for their people. With a destabilized
economy and paralyzed government, living became an illusion. Each day passed and unfulfilled
promises invoked angry Peruvians desperately ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Despite how unconventional this Shining Path was, it envisioned a promising future for voices dying
into being heard. Shining Path was a frightening guerrilla force, profoundly isolationist and sect like.
Established in the impoverished regions of Peru, formed by a group of radical university students, it
produced to an army of about one hundred thirty thousand militants. Led by a former university
professor, Abimael Guzman or alias Presidente Gonzalo, he was a fervent supporter of Communism.
By methodically using primitive techniques to overthrow the old government, this was seen as the true
approach into rebuilding a new improved one. Politically leaning on the left wing spectrum, the
Shining Path modeled through guided principles of Maoism, Marxism Leninism, and an ideology
known as Gonzalo Thought. This eventually became the theoretical foundations of Communism. A
web of exhortations and formulas so dense that its adherents are reduced to desperate initializing

The Role Of Speeding In Winston-Salem
While many action movies make a car chase look like a fun and exciting experience, two recent local
incidents show the reality of trying to escape the police. In the first incident, which happened near
Stoneville, police attempted to pull a man over for several miles before he finally stopped. A fight then
ensued in which the man was shot and killed. In the second incident, police attempted to pull a
motorcyclist over for speeding in Winston Salem. In the process of trying to flee the police, the
motorcyclist lost control, crashing into an unmarked police car. While it might be scary to see those
flashing lights behind you, trying to flee the police could result in serious injuries to yourself or others.

Jesus Reflection
Welcome back! Thank you for joining me in going just a little deeper in discovering how Jesus kept
Himself from resentment.
The following passage took place in September or October of 29AD right before the Feast of
Tabernacles (Booths). This feast was a time of celebration and thanksgiving for the harvest. It was also
a time spent remembering God s faithfulness to Israel during their 40 years wandering in the
wilderness after Moses lead their escape from captivity in Egypt.
Please read John 7:1 10.
This passage helps us see how fully human Jesus really was, just as He was fully God. His Godness
was so well hidden for 30 years that even His family, those closest to Him who lived in the same
house with Him for all those years, couldn t see that He was God in flesh form. They ate together,
learned together, worked together, slept in the same rooms, worshipped and celebrated the same God
together. And in all that time, they never saw that He was God. How could that be? What a mystery!
Like most Jews in that day, Jesus brothers believed that the Messiah would lead the Jews militarily to
freedom from Roman captivity. They determined that He had nothing to offer them once they realized
that Jesus had no intention of causing an insurrection to build an earthly kingdom. Their blood
relationship to Him was not going to gain them any personal advancement, honor and privilege.
His brothers taunted Jesus to go to Jerusalem for the Feast of Booths. Although

Vacation In Myrtle Beach Essay examples
Last summer my friends and I packed up and took a trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The
excitement of the strip and the relaxation of the beach allured me to this particular vacation spot. If
you are looking for an entertaining and relaxing way to spend the hot days of summer, Myrtle Beach
has plenty to offer.
Myrtle Beach stretches up the coast of South Carolina and North Carolina. The drive takes
approximately six hours from East Tennessee State University. Our trip during the summer made for a
great vacation, the temperature stayed between the 80 s and 90 s, perfect sun tanning weather. The
friendly smiles and southern hospitality mixed well with the warm climate.

Myrtle Beach has many hotels and resorts to chose from. Most of them sit either right on the beach or
across the street. The rates usually run weekly from Sunday to Saturday. A week s stay always gives
me enough time to do and see all I want. The inexpensive hotels, as stated earlier, can be found on the
strip. These hotels normally run about $180 a week for a room with two double beds. The resort areas,
however, cost around $400 a week depending on where you stay. I recommend the place that I stayed
when I was a child, the Breakers Resort. The Resort includes an oceanfront view, two pools, a hot tub,
poolside bar and restaurant. Wherever you decide to stay you are sure to enjoy the atmosphere and
excitement of Myrtle Beach.
Restaurants in Myrtle Beach appear almost as plentiful as the hotels. Where you eat may depend on
how much money you want to spend. My friends and I, as typical college students, did not have much
money to spend. So we ate at the local fast food restaurants, such as, Burger King, Taco Bell and
McDonalds, for the majority of the trip. We found, however, that the River City Café had good food
for a great price. If you would like to eat a more cordial dinner, the Calabash Seafood restaurant has
sensational seafood entrée s.
With all the hotels nestled along the coast, the most obvious attraction is the beach itself. The beautiful

Christina Freeman 1. What court decided the case in the assignment? (2 points) Court of Appeals of
Ohio, First District, Hamilton County. 2. According to the case, what must a party establish to prevail
on a motion for summary judgment? (3 points) In order to prevail on a motion for summary judgment,
a movant has the burden to demonstrate that no genuine issue of material fact remains to be litigated;
that it is entitled to judgment as a matter of law, and that it appears from the evidence, when viewed
most strongly in favor of the nonmoving party, that reasonable minds can come to but one conclusion

Nadel s failed to show that a reasonable consumer would agree with them that coffee brewed at 175
degrees was excessively hot. They also failed to produce any evidence that the coffee was actually
hotter than they expected other than Christopher receiving the second degree burns. The articles they
provided were not true evidence because documents that do not have an affidavit have no value as
evidence. 6. Do you agree with this decision? Why or why not? (5 points) I disagree with this decision
because Christopher suffered second degree burns which is more than enough evidence to show that
the coffee was too ho. No warning was given to the family by the employee, and Burger King lacked

The 3d Seismic Survey Of East Godavari Mangrove Area
The 3D seismic survey in East Godavari mangrove area has short term effects on the environment.
The surveyed area includes the main six reserved mangrove patches in East coast of India and the
process of lying of geophones cables and shoot hole drilling for 3D seismic exploration may lead to
the destruction of habitat through clearing the vegetation. Primary sources of disturbances associated
with exploration include equipment transportation inside the mangrove, vehicle traffic, shot hole
drilling activities, and underground blasting. Seismic exploration survey has the potential to affect
wildlife either by increasing noise and human activity around them, or seismic shooting process. The
seismic activities can even lead to long term habitat alteration. Though the exploration activities is
often a short term process, extending over a few months, the footprint of exploration activities
especially in the high wildlife sensitive area can be quite large (Jorgenson et al. 2010). Seismic
exploration can alter plant community structure, directly affecting fauna of that area on a long term
basis (Jorgenson et al. 2010). There is evidence to suggest wildlife may react to seismic activity with
elevated metabolic rates (Bradshaw et al. 1998), and the cumulative effects of repeated disturbance of
individuals may affect population reproductive rates if exploration is widespread (Bradshaw et al.
1998).
Extensive studies are conduced to estimate the impact of seismic activities on marine

Family Across The Sea Essay
The black experience, as seen in the existence of the Gullah Geechie community in the Georgia
Lowcountry, stands as proof of the existence and preservation of Africanism in the New World.
Cultural artifacts of that preservation include an active and surviving language, as studied by Lorenzo
Dow Turner, the private use of basket names, the making and use of fanner baskets as objects of art
and function, a continuance of the knowledge and skills required for growing and harvesting rice, oral
transmission of that knowledge, and the use of rice and greens in both African and the Lowcountry
Gullah Geechie cuisines. The documentary, Family Across the Sea (1991), recognizes these
similarities as direct links to the significant impact of 18th century slave trade on African Americans,
with emphasis on its documented connection to the Lowcountry.
The filmic explanation that ... the story of this connection begins with the land; land which is strangely
similar on the coasts of both the southeastern United States and that of Sierra Leone, opens the logic

Characteristic Characters In A Tale Of Two Cities By...
Writers have always set out to create realistic characters. Some have succeeded in creating characters
with unique goals and personalities while others fail to truly optimize the potential of their characters
and instead have relied on some discernible caricatures. For example, from A Tale of Two Cities by
Charles Dickens, written in 1858 to Crash, released in 2005, characters have been praised for their
originality and criticized for being stereotypical and bland. However while some characters may
appear to be caricatures, both Dickens and Haggis were constrained by time and societies explanation,
forcing them to rely on some caricatures to make the story more accessible. Both Dickens and Robert

In there, Dr. Manette s enmity for the the Evremondes continues to grow where he denounces the
Evremonde brothers and the rest the Evremonde bloodline until they die out. As the revolution
continues to grow, Dr. Manette s is finally given an opportunity to end the Evremonde bloodline. The
blood thirsty mob of the rebellion storms La Force, where Charles Evremonde is currently held. The
mob detests anyone that had any remote connection to the French Aristocracy and would gladly
murder him. Had Dr. Manette not used his influence as a Bastille survivor, Charles would ve been

the husband of one very dear to him. Finally, Dr. Manette is able move on from the years of hatred in
the Bastille, and he personally vouches for the Evremonde at his trial. Ultimately, Dr. Manette ceases
to hold the Evremonde bloodline responsible for the heinous actions committed, and had instead
works tirelessly to save his son in law. Through Dr. Manette, Dickens portrays a character that not
only complete contradicts his initial caricature of a vengeful prisoner, but also grows into someone
willing to forgive someone who had wronged him.

How Did Jackson Pollock Contribute To Art
Jackson Pollock was one of the most misunderstood abstract expressionist artist.
People believed that because his work looked just like splattered paint on a canvas that even a two
year old could do his job. However, they did not know how much time, patience, and skill it took
Jackson Pollock to finish one painting. In the beginning of his art career Jackson Pollock studied
under Thomas Hart Benton, which was a really religious painter. Later on though he went on his own.
During the Depression Era he did many of his works of art for a program that was supposed to help
the economy again. Although he was really occupied with art he seemed to not be able to stop
drinking. This led him to be on psychiatric treatment. This inspired him to do to symbolistic and

Theme Of Magical Realism In One Hundred Years Of Solitude
This research paper highlights Gabriel Jose de la Concordia Garcia Marquez s employment of magical
realism in association to his portrayal of anti colonial sentiments in his novel One Hundred Years of
Solitude. It is the reaction and challenge against the political condition of Latin America more
particularly Columbia in the backdrop of the postcolonial paradigm. The novel depicts the undulated
life of seven generations of Buendia family in the fictitious town, Macondo. Initially Macondo is
pious land but when it comes in to contact with external world, the decline of Macondo begins. The
technologies and inventions of the outer world appear in the form of magic which seems to be

When the entity of the real is upset within the realm of narrative, it becomes questionable outside the
boundaries of fiction as well. Garcia Marquez has chronicled the history of violence in Latin America
much expressively throughout his literary career with a subtle use of the technique of magical realism.
His epic novel One Hundred Years of Solitude presents synthesis of historical events in symbolic
episodes of exploitation of the natives at the hands of the American banana planters and the capitalist
exploitation has been uncovered by the author in such episodes. The reader finds most of his fiction
set in an imaginary town of Macondo that stands allegorical for the Colombian history in specific and
Latin American in general. The way Márquez used Macondo as a place where most of his fiction
originates attaches extraordinary importance to this place and urges the reader to explore this in detail.
Being postcolonial in nature, One Hundred Years of Solitude is an epithet of a shortened version of
history. The non linear time format of the novel stands allegorical for the lengthy process of
colonization and how it affected public and private lives of people. The way colonizers established a

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Print And Electronic Media
In the 1970s and 1980s, books, newspapers, and magazines were printed on large presses by national
and multinational publishing houses. Print was a flourishing industry that had managed to overcome
any challengers, including television and the radio. Any legitimate writer, academic researcher,
scientist, or journalist was published in print. For those seeking the most up to date, respected, and
accurate information, books, periodicals, and newspapers were the chosen source. This is as it had
been for many years, and it seemed that this would be so for hundreds of years to come. Until, when in
the early 1990s, a relatively unheard of new technology called the Internet, which had begun in the
early 1960s as a government and scientific computer network, began to emerge on college campuses
and in other areas (Courtright, 2002). So as mentioned, there are two media that have been used

and their livelihoods would be affected if any media suffer a setback. But at the same time one must
also be ready to accept the reality that with time it would become difficult for old media to survive in
the new digital age. So, for its survival the old media must make use of new techniques and

Difference Between Modern And Modern Society
Over time, man has divided into two organized and civilized societies that have adopted different
cultures and trends. Over time this led to the formation of the traditional society, then the modern
society. This essay will be focusing on the difference between those two society s. Many comparisons
can be made between the two, but I will be focusing on the difference in Family, social class, and
technology. In a traditional society, customs and the improvement of society as a whole is its primary
focus, while in a modern society the focus is on individual success and free will. Although there are
many advantages and benefits to having a traditional society, I am more sympathetic to modern
society because now people have more freedom to choose for example whether it be their clothing,
occupation, or spouse.
To start off, in a traditional society, the family is the basic unit and obligations towards the family
never change regardless of age. Men and women had specific gender roles in the family. Men were the
breadwinners in the family whereas women had the domestic role of being the caregivers and looked
after the children and household chores. The women s role had to be a more submissive one whereas

Nuclear Weapons And The United States
Since the nineteen forties nuclear weapons have been used to help end, or have caused problems
between countries. The dangers of using nuclear weapons have increased over the many years since
they were first used. Either way, the fight over nuclear weapons have become more and more common
because of the new developments in science and technology. The use of nuclear weapons have been
used to threaten many different countries around the world which include the United States and many
more. Nuclear weapons have become an overall issue in the world today, yet the issue has been
ignored. Just recently this issue has been noticed, yet we still ignore the problems that have happened.
As the world of technology has become more educated new nuclear weapons have been created, but
they have not been tested or used. The United States should aggressively promote nuclear
disarmament because of reprocessing, exaggerations, and waste management. The United States
should aggressively promote nuclear disarmament because of reprocessing. According to an article

manner, making it feasible that the theft of enough plutonium to build several bombs could undetected

be considered as harassment like pin ups that are created for the pleasure of men. The article sheds
light on how society gets baffled when faced with a professional work place harassment however

point the article brings up is that how we as a society should have a law that prevents such advertising

influential those in power are. In this case, companies who use explicit pin ups in order to sell their

Examples Of Emotional Contagion
Emotional Contagion Emotional contagion is an act where people receive and mimic emotions of
others. This includes the imitation of facial expression, vocal, postures and behavior of those around
them (Hatfield, Cacioppo, Rapson, 1993). Emotional contagion happens unconsciously; a person who
is not afraid of ghost might get scared from watching a horror film because their friends get very
involved with the content. Mass communication depends on emotional contagious as it is a key to
successful advertisements, political campaigns and films. There will be several real life examples
provided so that readers can have a better understanding towards emotional contagion. The theory of
emotional contagion has been an interest of many writers both in the field of psychology and science.
The root is not clear whether who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Emotional contagion is the major factor for the number of protesters that joined in. Emotional
contagion works like pass along readership in which the rumors or ideology get passed down from one
human being to their social circle, with every individuals act as a medium of the ideology; once the
story got told the content becomes more saucy(dramatic) and it could attracts more followers. When
there are many people sharing the same ideology the group becomes very large and the hatred for the
other side gets more intense. The group leader or the person who started the rumors then gain
hegemony over the people and they can now easily persuade people to join the uprising. Emotional
contagion could be implied to persuade a large group of people or invoke a protest. Democracy is a
topic that every person in the nation give an importance to. Leaders or politicians will want to have
more power and many of them were successful in doing so by using the emotional contagion and let

Pricing Strategy and Distribution
Nature Beauty Price strategy will be the penetration theory for my product. Penetration is pricing low
to stimulate the sales, encourage trail, and trigger by word of mouth. Nature Beauty s mineral powder
foundation will not be a new product that no company has similar to. We will need to start by gaining
the trust of the consumers by word of mouth and different marketing strategies to the targeted
customers. This way once the product has some buzz and customers appreciate the products value, we
can price the mineral powder foundation at higher price do to the demand of the product. The

However, even though it s easier to start high and lower prices later down the line, depending on sales
of the products, we don t want to jump the broom on the price set. We believe that we meet the
expectation for a higher price and will strive to become a brand that can set a premium price like it
leading competitors. Nature Beauty does want to use the theory framing on the products that
compliments the mineral powder foundation. Framing is pricing higher prices and then discount to
make the consumers feel better. There will be promotions that will give consumers the chance to try
these products such lotion, facial cleanser, beauty bar soap, make up remover wipes, and future idea
products for free or at a discounted price. But they will not always be on sale. Nature beauty will push
these products out individually starting out high then discounting them after we introduced the new
and latest product.
Legal issues and Ethical issues in pricing tactics are very slim. We are pricing competitively against
our competitors. Nature Beauty is not pricing to high and pricing to low. We believe that we are taking
a competitive approach against the leading competition. There shouldn t be any ethical issues with the
pricing either.

Critical Narrative And Story Telling Style
English 2201 helped me discover not only myself as a writer, but allowed me to go more in depth with
learning how to write in the field of my intended discipline. This is the first specific English class I
have taken that focused on the style of writing I will need to be familiar in the future with. Because of
that fact, I defiantly enjoyed this class. I feel like my knowledge and ability to navigate the writing
techniques of my major have improved and my in text citations skills have improved greatly. Overall
this course opened my eyes to the many different styles there are in the field of Communications,
which is my intended field of study, and how to use these styles correctly and efficiently. I learned an
array of new things with every paper and project we participated in. Our first project was a critical
narrative styled paper. Personally when it comes to writing, I prefer the critical narrative and story
telling style because I enjoy putting my creative mind to work. It is easier for me to write down
exactly what I am thinking, rather than writing research papers with sources to go off of. So, I
extremely enjoyed the first project. The main element I can take away from writing the Category 1:
Writing in the Field assignment was how to conduct a proper interview. I interviewed Marc Morriston,
who is the head of marketing at WNCT News here in Greenville. I conducted the interview based off
of what we learned in class and I ended up making connections that I can use in

Kroger Greek Vanilla Yogurt As Lactobacillus Casei
Identification of Unknown in Kroger Greek Vanilla Yogurt as Lactobacillus casei
Joanne Li
University of Kansas, Biol 203, Spring 2017, 3:00 pm room 6044
Abstract
The purpose of this experiment is to identify yogurt unknown by analyzing the result of its gram
staining, and the 6 tubes of test media that was inoculated. The yogurt chosen to be used in this lab
meets the minimum number of lactic acid bacteria to bear the seal of Live Active Cultures, which
mean they have at least 10^8 colony forming units(CFU) per gram to quality. Unknown is Gram
positive, rod shaped, and use salicin, galactose, sucrose, mannitol, and mannose for fermentation. The
characteristics of the result suggest that the unknown can be identified as Lactobacillus casei.

Its benefits trace way back before microbes were even discovered. Scientists of the early ages like
Hippocrates considered fermented milk to be a medicine, they prescribe sour milk for curing stomach
and intestinal disorders (1). Yogurt contains healthy bacteria, known as probiotics, it is good for the
body by keeping the digestive and immune system functioning well. More and more people include
yogurt as part of their diet knowing all of its possible health benefits. For examples, yogurt may

Effective Leaders Produce Successful Results
Leadership is found in a variety of aspects of life, work, and sports. Few will argue that effective
leaders produce successful results. Many more will agree that successful leadership is not always
determined by the financial bottom line in business or by win percentage in sports. Leadership in both
business and in coaching requires and often exudes a common set of skills, goals, desires, and
strategies that are common in both arenas. Leaders in all walks of life, to include commercial real
estate and collegiate administration, find common ground when tasked with inspiring subordinates and
helping them to realize their potential in an effort to obtain optimum results. Formally, Merriam
Webster (2014) defines leadership as, the power or ability to lead other people (para. 1). Truly,
leadership requires ability; the ability to motivate, instruct, and guide subordinates is paramount.
Those who have the charisma to be leaders but lack the expertise to direct subordinates and show how
the work is done, on whatever level, will not be able to properly facilitate change. Moreover, the lack
of effective leadership or the implementation of ineffective false leadership may cause more harm than
good within a business setting or team. Leadership in sport is referred to often but can never be
overstated. Having the ability to teach and to motivate is necessary either when leading as a coach or
as a player. Leaders take responsibility for what is taught and rely on personal

The Effect Of Public Transport On Public Transportation
2.5
Expectations of grades are directly linked to travel time as users of public transport are less likely to
expect higher grades as compared to the students who use other means.
2.5.1
As the users of public transport are not able to attend as many lectures as their counterparts who use a
car or take a walk to the university, therefore their expectations of higher grades decreases to some
extent.
2.5.2
In order to find out if the statement is true or should be rejected, we will use means of transport as one
category and the other which would be compared is going to be expected grades at the end of the
course. Around 36% of those who use public transport are expecting to receive a 1st class grade at the
end of the year. While the same grade is expected by more than 43% students who use personal means
of transport. Moreover, the mean grade expected by the whole class is 2.1 and 48% students who use
public transport are expecting this grade, while 50% who use personal transport are expecting it. The
lowest which is expected by all the students is a pass grade and 75% who expect it use public transport
while only 25% of those who expect it are users of personal transport. Contrastingly, only 6.5% users
of public transport expect a pass grade while 9.3% students who use a car or take a walk expect a pass
grade. Thus, the statement can be considered as true.
2.5.3
Our recommendation is that the students should use personal means of transport to save on travel time
and improve

Comparing The Immigrant Contribution And A Quilt Of A Country
The two stories, The immigrant Contribution by John F. Kennedy, and A Quilt of a Country by Anna
Quindlen are similar in many ways, but the passages are also very different from each other. Even
though they are both the same type of writing, they both have very different approaches on how to get
across their ideas to the reader. Quindlen who wrote A Quilt of a Country used a formal diction,
whereas John F. Kennedy used a concrete diction in The immigrant Contribution . Kennedy makes it
very clear that every American citizen has either been an immigrant or come from the descendants of
immigrants. Unlike Kennedy, Anna Quindlen talks more about the ethnic groups that make up
America. She also talks about terrorist attacks that happened

The Art Of Frida Kahlo
Frida Kahlo was an interesting woman that often portrayed her emotions, feelings, and thoughts in to
her works of art. Frida Kahlo was born on July 6, 1907 in a town now known as Casa Azul. In her
childhood, Kahlo was faced with many complications that should have ended her life. Being that she
was diagnosed with polio when she was six, and being involved in a fatal bus accident where most of
the bones in her body were fractured including her pelvis, she had a very hard childhood. In 1939,
Frida Kahlo created a painting that draws your attention as to why she created this piece of art. Frida
Kahlo is known for her surrealist ways since most of her works of art are seen as bizarre and often
graphic. From research, I am seeing that Kahlo had many personal tragedies that lead to the creations
of many emotional and raw paintings (The Art Story). In 1946, Kahlo received a national prize for her
painting Moses, (The Art Story). Kahlo, only 47 at the time, passed away on July 13, 1954 in Casa
Azul which is now referred to as the Frida Kahlo Museum. This painting is an oil on canvas located in
the Collection of the Museo de Arte Moderno in Mexico City. According to PBS.org, it is believed that
the painting expresses Kahlo s feelings since her divorce from her husband had just taken place. Kahlo
was from two totally different backgrounds being that her mother was Mexican with a Indian and
Spanish heritage and her father a German Jewish immigrant (The Life and Times of Frida

Harold Henthorn Pushes Wife From Cliff Analysis
In November of 2012, Harold Henthorn was charged with first degree murder after his wife, Toni,
tumbled face first to her death off a mountain cliff. Inquisitr covered this news story in an article
entitled Harold Henthorn Pushes Wife from Cliff? Sinister and Gruesome Details Emerge. By
analyzing the content, format, and context of the article, it becomes clear how Inquisitr conveys their
own message and intends for the crime to be represented in a particular, calculated way. First, while
every news article has content, the important factor in the reporting of this information is the
perspective that the source maintains in telling the story. In this story, Inquisitr s angle relies on the
myth of a villainous spouse with ulterior motives ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The context of production and the context of consumption are the two dimensions that are relevant to
the reason the message is being communicated. The fact that the only information about the writer of
the article is a first name at the bottom of the page signifies that who wrote the article is not
significant, but who owns it may be. Inquisitr, the media outlet producing the representation, is a news
website whose goal is to publish the latest trending news and to ensure that readers never miss the
internet s hottest stories. According to the available audience demographics, the most popular section
that readers browse is the celebrity and entertainment section and the site s target audience is women,
people with some college education, and people who work from home. Evidently, Inquisitr is built and
branded as a site for the every day internet user. As a result, substantial, quality news is not the
priority, but rather quick and compelling articles that have the potential to go viral. The story of
Harold Henthorn and the death of his wife then is not written as the tragedy that it is, or even as a legal
recount of the case, but as a brief, flashy murder mystery story that intrigues and engrosses the reader.
Production and consumption of a representation, therefore, are not independent, but tightly linked in a
way that creates the general

Isolation In Passengers
Passengers, is a Sci Fi, romance, adventure and is another sci fi movie related to isolation . Some of
the audiences and mostly the critics did not enjoy this film. The movie is getting a lot of hates, mostly
from the critics. But for me, I enjoyed this film a lot more than I expected. I walked out of the theater
with a smile on my face. First of all, the acting is really good in this film. Chris Pratt kills his role and
leads the movie. He gave a good performance and a good balance of humor and the emotion of
isolation. Jennifer Lawrence s character was fine. Her acting was good. She gave a lot of emotional
expressions as well as her back story. But I would have liked to see her character more of her
potential. Michael Sheen s character was also pretty good. He is an android in this movie and he is
funny and very entertaining to watch and look forward to. I would say Laurence Fishburne s character
is my least favorite of the movie. His acting was fine as well, but ... Show more content on

The most attention I got from the film was the first act. So the first act is all about Chris Pratt s
character wondering around in an isolated space ship trying to find clues. I really enjoyed the first act

Now, the second act is about another passenger: Jennifer Lawrence s character waking up and it all
becomes a romance film. Some of them worked and some of them felt rushed and followed some
cliches. The second act is less interesting than the first, but it is still acceptable to watch. Now, the
third act... Oh and I disliked the third act a lot. The last 20 minutes of this film is all about the ship
malfunctioning and trying to fix the ship. It did not work for me and lost my drag of attention. It felt a
lot rushed and it was very, very predictable. The last 20 minutes of the film is a huge minus for the

Analysis Of Big Two-Hearted River Hemingway
Big Two Hearted River, the climax of Hemingway s stories featuring Nick Adams, was one of
Hemingway s finest and most thought provoking works. Throughout this two part story, the author
makes use of extensive description, yet manages to reveal very little about his protagonist s
motivation. Nick is a wonderfully complex character; across the numerous tales preceding Big Two
Hearted River, he endures a number of traumatizing experiences which implant deep rooted emotional
issues. By the time of his finale, Nick has become physically and emotionally detached from the
world, afraid to reflect and dig too deep into himself for fear of what he might uncover. These intricate
feelings are explored in further detail in Big Two Hearted River, and displayed indirectly through a
series of subtle images and metaphors. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Michigan was a sentimental state for Hemingway, having spent summers there as a child, and Nick is
shown to have memories of the town of Seney. He mentally comments on the desolate state of the
land, noting that there was no town, nothing but the rails and the burned over country. The thirteen
saloons that had lined the one street of Seney had not left a trace. This is an extremely powerful scene,
a once lively community replaced by scorched land and abandoned buildings, without a semblance of
its former prosperity. For Nick, this must have represented the happier, simpler times of his childhood,
now replaced with apathy and broken by past experiences. Shortly after, however, Nick does take
solace in the town s river and its relatively similar state, the only remnant of a dramatically changed

Democracy And Violent Civil Conflict
Democracy and violent civil conflict
Democracy is believed to have a pacifying power. With electoral processes, the rule of law and
freedom from state oppression it makes sense that the populations has enough avenues to express
grievances without resorting to full scale civil violence. Democracy beyond mutual democratic
pacifism would thus have an impact on internal civil relations positively but this is not the case. There
have been an increased number of cases of civil and ethnic violence in government systems that we
might consider to be in stages of democratization. Evidence would seem to suggest that there are
greater levels of violent civil conflict in these sort of regimes as opposed to full blown dictatorships or
democracies. I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Hypothesis.
There are two major hypothesis in this paper
i. Pseudo democracies have greater levels of civil violence than do democracies ii. Pseudo
democracies have greater levels of civil violence than autocracies.
Theory
I argue that this could be as a result of a number of reasons, while an autocratic government might be
able to use force to keep the population under tight control, a weak democracy with its relative
political and civil freedoms is likely to bring strife as soon as institutions are not functional and
transparent enough. Ethnic groups, religious groups or party faithful soon take to violence when the
institutions in place is not trusted either due to incapacity or lack of transparency and since the citizens
now have a voice and might not be exposed to the dangers of brutal crackdowns they soon are
exposed to strife that soon become violent. This might be due to introduction of unpopular or
controversial laws, dissatisfaction with government performance or suspicion of government s actions.
Competitive elections presents a whole new avenue for disagreement and where the representatives
are disconnected from the electorate, they turn to violent conflict as a route to voice grievances with
less fear of extreme crackdown by the government. The problem is that most often what would start as
a peaceful demonstration explodes into an all out riot with

  • 3. The Shining Path Or El Sendero Luminos Known as one of the most dangerous and violent terrorist organizations in the world, the Shining Path or El Sendero Luminoso in Spanish was unique in various aspects. Although now considered a menace to Peruvian society, the Shining Path remains at the revolutionary forefront of its time. Living in an age of terror, Peru was a corrupted and disorderly country; the road to liberation was a far way to go. For years, demagogic candidates turned into dictatorial leaders filled with an insatiable hunger for dominant power rather than independence. Due to their trivial behaviors, they mainly spent money for military forces and drugs; but failed to provide the simplest needs for their people. • 5. Jesus Reflection Welcome back! Thank you for joining me in going just a little deeper in discovering how Jesus kept Himself from resentment. The following passage took place in September or October of 29AD right before the Feast of Tabernacles (Booths). This feast was a time of celebration and thanksgiving for the harvest. It was also a time spent remembering God s faithfulness to Israel during their 40 years wandering in the wilderness after Moses lead their escape from captivity in Egypt. Please read John 7:1 10. This passage helps us see how fully human Jesus really was, just as He was fully God. His Godness was so well hidden for 30 years that even His family, those closest to Him who lived in the same house with Him for all those years, couldn t see that He was God in flesh form. They ate together, learned together, worked together, slept in the same rooms, worshipped and celebrated the same God together. And in all that time, they never saw that He was God. How could that be? What a mystery! Like most Jews in that day, Jesus brothers believed that the Messiah would lead the Jews militarily to freedom from Roman captivity. They determined that He had nothing to offer them once they realized that Jesus had no intention of causing an insurrection to build an earthly kingdom. Their blood relationship to Him was not going to gain them any personal advancement, honor and privilege. His brothers taunted Jesus to go to Jerusalem for the Feast of Booths. Although ... The drive takes approximately six hours from East Tennessee State University. Myrtle Beach has many hotels and resorts to chose from. Most of them sit either right on the beach or across the street. The rates usually run weekly from Sunday to Saturday. A week s stay always gives me enough time to do and see all I want. The inexpensive hotels, as stated earlier, can be found on the strip. These hotels normally run about $180 a week for a room with two double beds. The resort areas, however, cost around $400 a week depending on where you stay. I recommend the place that I stayed when I was a child, the Breakers Resort. The Resort includes an oceanfront view, two pools, a hot tub, poolside bar and restaurant. Wherever you decide to stay you are sure to enjoy the atmosphere and excitement of Myrtle Beach. Restaurants in Myrtle Beach appear almost as plentiful as the hotels. Where you eat may depend on how much money you want to spend. My friends and I, as typical college students, did not have much money to spend. So we ate at the local fast food restaurants, such as, Burger King, Taco Bell and McDonalds, for the majority of the trip. We found, however, that the River City Café had good food for a great price. • 12. The 3d Seismic Survey Of East Godavari Mangrove Area The 3D seismic survey in East Godavari mangrove area has short term effects on the environment. The surveyed area includes the main six reserved mangrove patches in East coast of India and the process of lying of geophones cables and shoot hole drilling for 3D seismic exploration may lead to the destruction of habitat through clearing the vegetation. Primary sources of disturbances associated with exploration include equipment transportation inside the mangrove, vehicle traffic, shot hole drilling activities, and underground blasting. Seismic exploration survey has the potential to affect wildlife either by increasing noise and human activity around them, or seismic shooting process. The seismic activities can even lead to long term habitat alteration. Though the exploration activities is often a short term process, extending over a few months, the footprint of exploration activities especially in the high wildlife sensitive area can be quite large (Jorgenson et al. 2010). Seismic exploration can alter plant community structure, directly affecting fauna of that area on a long term basis (Jorgenson et al. 2010). There is evidence to suggest wildlife may react to seismic activity with elevated metabolic rates (Bradshaw et al. 1998), and the cumulative effects of repeated disturbance of individuals may affect population reproductive rates if exploration is widespread (Bradshaw et al. 1998). Family Across The Sea Essay The black experience, as seen in the existence of the Gullah Geechie community in the Georgia Lowcountry, stands as proof of the existence and preservation of Africanism in the New World. Cultural artifacts of that preservation include an active and surviving language, as studied by Lorenzo Dow Turner, the private use of basket names, the making and use of fanner baskets as objects of art and function, a continuance of the knowledge and skills required for growing and harvesting rice, oral transmission of that knowledge, and the use of rice and greens in both African and the Lowcountry Gullah Geechie cuisines. People believed that because his work looked just like splattered paint on a canvas that even a two year old could do his job. Garcia Marquez has chronicled the history of violence in Latin America much expressively throughout his literary career with a subtle use of the technique of magical realism. His epic novel One Hundred Years of Solitude presents synthesis of historical events in symbolic episodes of exploitation of the natives at the hands of the American banana planters and the capitalist exploitation has been uncovered by the author in such episodes. The reader finds most of his fiction set in an imaginary town of Macondo that stands allegorical for the Colombian history in specific and Latin American in general. The way Márquez used Macondo as a place where most of his fiction originates attaches extraordinary importance to this place and urges the reader to explore this in detail. Being postcolonial in nature, One Hundred Years of Solitude is an epithet of a shortened version of history. The non linear time format of the novel stands allegorical for the lengthy process of colonization and how it affected public and private lives of people. • 19. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Print And Electronic Media In the 1970s and 1980s, books, newspapers, and magazines were printed on large presses by national and multinational publishing houses. Print was a flourishing industry that had managed to overcome any challengers, including television and the radio. Any legitimate writer, academic researcher, scientist, or journalist was published in print. For those seeking the most up to date, respected, and accurate information, books, periodicals, and newspapers were the chosen source. This is as it had been for many years, and it seemed that this would be so for hundreds of years to come. Until, when in the early 1990s, a relatively unheard of new technology called the Internet, which had begun in the early 1960s as a government and scientific computer network, began to emerge on college campuses and in other areas (Courtright, 2002). The books, for example, cannot be replaced by television, while the attraction of internet and web cannot fully overtake the charm of newspapers and magazines. Moreover people working in different media fields and their livelihoods would be affected if any media suffer a setback. But at the same time one must also be ready to accept the reality that with time it would become difficult for old media to survive in the new digital age. So, for its survival the old media must make use of new techniques and technologies to upgrade itself and also try to keep intact its genuineness which by no way is an easy task. • 20. Difference Between Modern And Modern Society Over time, man has divided into two organized and civilized societies that have adopted different cultures and trends. Over time this led to the formation of the traditional society, then the modern society. This essay will be focusing on the difference between those two society s. Many comparisons can be made between the two, but I will be focusing on the difference in Family, social class, and technology. In a traditional society, customs and the improvement of society as a whole is its primary focus, while in a modern society the focus is on individual success and free will. Although there are many advantages and benefits to having a traditional society, I am more sympathetic to modern society because now people have more freedom to choose for example whether it be their clothing, occupation, or spouse. To start off, in a traditional society, the family is the basic unit and obligations towards the family never change regardless of age. Men and women had specific gender roles in the family. Men were the breadwinners in the family whereas women had the domestic role of being the caregivers and looked after the children and household chores. The women s role had to be a more submissive one whereas in a modern society they are granted many freedoms that they did not have in the past. In a modern society it is common for women to make some of the decisions, especially when it comes to money. Most modern women wish to move away from those traditional gender roles and instead ... • 30. Effective Leaders Produce Successful Results Leadership is found in a variety of aspects of life, work, and sports. Few will argue that effective leaders produce successful results. Many more will agree that successful leadership is not always determined by the financial bottom line in business or by win percentage in sports. Leadership in both business and in coaching requires and often exudes a common set of skills, goals, desires, and strategies that are common in both arenas. Leaders in all walks of life, to include commercial real estate and collegiate administration, find common ground when tasked with inspiring subordinates and helping them to realize their potential in an effort to obtain optimum results. Formally, Merriam Webster (2014) defines leadership as, the power or ability to lead other people (para. 1). Truly, leadership requires ability; the ability to motivate, instruct, and guide subordinates is paramount. Those who have the charisma to be leaders but lack the expertise to direct subordinates and show how the work is done, on whatever level, will not be able to properly facilitate change. Moreover, the lack of effective leadership or the implementation of ineffective false leadership may cause more harm than good within a business setting or team. Nick is a wonderfully complex character; across the numerous tales preceding Big Two Hearted River, he endures a number of traumatizing experiences which implant deep rooted emotional issues. By the time of his finale, Nick has become physically and emotionally detached from the world, afraid to reflect and dig too deep into himself for fear of what he might uncover.
