Designing A 3d Design Of 3d Printing
3d printing is the process of three dimensional solid objects from a computer file. The following
information is about 3D printing and the processes that it takes to 3D print. There are many pro and
cons to 3D printing that I will list below. In this paper I will also talk about what equipment it will
take to make a 3D print, But first we will talk about the steps to make a 3D design.
There are eight steps to print a 3D design. The first step is to start with making a virtual design of an
object you want to create. The file that you create the image from is called a (CAD) or Computer
Aided Design file. This software may provide some hints to the structural integrity you can expect in
the finished product. It will also help you with specific data about certain materials to create virtual
simulations of how the project will behave under certain conditions.
The second step is called Conversion to STL. You will have to convert the CAD drawing, to the STL
format. STL is an acronym for standard tessellation language. Which is a file format developed for 3D
Systems in 1987 for use by its stereolithography apparatus (SLA) machines. Most 3D printers use STL
files in addition to some proprietary file types such as, ZPR by Z corporation. Some of the types of
printers include, Sterolithography or (SLA), Digital Light Processing (DLP), Fused deposition
modeling (FDM), Selective Laser Sintering (SLS), Selective laser melting (SLM), Electronic Beam
Melting (EBM), and Lamainatied

Overview and Challenges of Indian Gaming in San Diego
The history of Native American tribes is a long, complicated, and more often than not, a sad one.
Today, thanks to efforts to help tribes preserve their identity, culture and numbers by means of
reservations, many Native Americans not only survive, but also thrive. Indian gaming is one means
that has been a source of great income and prosperity for Native American tribes in the San Diego
region. Although the economic impact of gaming has been very positive, critics of legalizing and
regulating such casinos have expressed concerns regarding potentially negative impacts. While Indian
gaming in San Diego has positive impacts for the economy and upliftment of Indian tribes, negative
impacts could relate to industry monopolization. According to the National Gambling Impact Study
Commission Report (n.d.), large scale Indian casino gambling had its origins in 1987. During this
year, the Supreme Court found hat the state of California had no authority over gambling activities
within Indian reservations. The Court also recognized the need for regulation, however, and Congress
passed the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (AGRA) in 1988. One of the provisions of the act requires
that revenues from gambling be used for the economic development and welfare of Indian tribes in
their region. This has been one of the primary advantages of Indian gaming in California in general
and in San Diego specifically. This is evident in the Barona reservation, where gaming has had
significant impacts

A Rush Of Blood To The Head Analysis
A Rush of Cash, Love, and 9/11 to the Head Coldplay s sophomore album A Rush of Blood to the
Head , harbors many incredible songs, including the tenth song on the record for which the album is
named; therefore, the artists must have wanted to install an emphasis on this particular song. The
album was released in 2002 after the September 11th terrorist attacks, and the song, A Rush of Blood
to the Head in particular has many interesting elements pointing towards that event as inspiration. The
lead singer of Coldplay, Chris Martin, has said that the song is an homage to Johnny Cash s way of
singing because Martin wanted to sing a song in a low key like that of Cash. A literal analysis of the
lyrics interpret a man who is very impulsive, and he will do anything to keep the woman he loves. A
Rush of Blood to the Head employs its low key and sad sound as a tribute to Johnny Cash; meanwhile,
the lyrics are so ambiguous that they can be understood as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The band s bass player, Johnny Buckland was deeply influenced by American country music legend,
Johnny Cash. Chris Martin admits that after learning about and appreciating different artists such as
Cash and after getting so much criticism, Coldplay just decided not to care what everyone else thought
and to make the music that they wanted to make (Martin). The inspired team then took it upon
themselves to make a concerted effort to conceive a sound similar to the acoustic low key guitar riffs
of Cash. Their devotion towards this iconic music star resulted in the title track, A Rush of Blood to
the Head becoming the successful experiment of mixing Cash s one of a kind sound with Coldplay s
beautiful lyrics and Chris Martin s steady, fragile, and falsetto

Boptany Importance Of Science
Botany, the science of the vegetable kingdom, is one of the most attractive, most useful, and most
extensive departments of human knowledge. It is, above every other, the science of beauty, stated
Joseph Paxton, a gardener and member of the British Parliament in the nineteenth century (Paxton
1).Why is botany such a enjoyable profession? The many activities you can attend such as growing
and trimming are both easy ways to make money ,but take a lot of responsibility. As one prepares for a
future in the field of Biology, one must consider the historical background, the educational
requirements, the work environment, the duties and responsibilities, wages and benefits, and the
potential for advancement of Botany.
Botany began near the Neolithic Period but wasn t scientifically studied until the 1700 s. During the
Neolithic Period they had the knowledge of farming and soon began growing their own crops. Fruits
and vegetables have been an important part of social development since the beginning of time. In
Ancient Greece and Rome philosophers urged more learning in sciences, they began learning more
about plants. The philosopher Theophrastus was known as The Father of Botany because of two
seminal works that were used for the next 1500 years and survive today (Mason). For the next 1500
years, there would be little development and most botanical studies were limited to places of learning
such as universities and monasteries (Mason). The history of Botany is very diverse

The Physics Of Pinball Machines
Pinball machines clearly demonstrate scientific principles that can teach us not only about machines,
but also of the laws of physics, electricity, and applying basic materials. Most Simple machines
consist of inclined planes, levers, screws, pulleys, wedges, and wheels with axels. Most common
materials used in making a pinball machine include, but are not limited to: metal, plastic, wood,
rubber, and steel.
Players use the only tool provided, the Flipper. Below the playfield, the linkage moving the flipper
uses the lever while the mechanics behind the flipper button switch also rely on the lever. Inclined
planes create ramps, while wedges drive the ball away from pop bumpers. Wheels with axels run

Pins adapted from the Ninteenth to the Twentieth centuries, to electrical wiring and switches to power
devices and light scores in darkened bars and pool halls.
Eventually mercury switches gave way to leaf switches, and then on to electronic optical switches. In
the Twenty First century Stern Pinball installed MP3 files of recordings from popular movies that
coincide with the game theme, and you can even download updates to the software, or reprogram the
machine to create new modes and sequences. Opto switches use laser technology and Jersey Jacks has
been putting full color LCD screens into his Wizard of Oz machines.
Moving on to how the lights and sounds effect us as a people, I believe that the flashing lights and
loud noises emitted from a pinball machine just appeal to our curious and excitable nature. Nothing
can capture my sons attention faster than the Star Wars pinball machine at the local laundromat, even
more so than the racing arcade games and the vending machines right next to it. The reason for this, in
my opinion, first off is the noise, he hears the dings and whizzes, and sound bites from the beloved
movie, recognizes the familiar faces of Luke Skywalker, Yoda, and Chewie on the board, an
immediatly, he has to play it. I dont think just a stationary poster would have his attention so fast or so
tight, he may offer a glance, may even offer a comment like look momma, Yoda , but when he hears
the noises, see s the lights, he recognizes right away that this is fun, and he must partake in

John In George Orwell s I Am Number Four
The main character in the novel I Am Number Four actually has no real name but he is most
commonly referred to as John Smith. John is an alien from the planet Lorien who is part of nine
Guardes who were sent to Earth to keep their race alive. When the planet was destroyed the whole
population was killed except for John and the nine others and their adopted parents or mentors. The
aliens who destroyed their planet, the Mogadorians, are on Earth trying to kill the last remaining
population of Lorien that includes John. He and his mentor Henri have to constantly move around to
avoid being found by the other aliens. John in the story has just moved to a small town in Ohio where

people in Ohio? I joke. John is joking about moving to a whole new state very different then where he
was. I on the other hand would not even be talking let alone joking. Something we see early on in the
book is that John is sometimes very stubborn. This is not the best quality but both John and me are
very stubborn individuals. If I really believe or want something I will not budge from my position for
anything. John is the same way. Henri told John that he had to move from Ohio and John would not
allow that. He has Sarah and Sam now and he does not want to leave them for any reason. I raise my
hand and point it at him and lift him off the ground... We re staying I say... I ll put you down when you

Martin Heidigger s Response To Modernity Analysis
To understand Martin Heidigger s response to Modernity one would have to examine the relationship
between their notions of Man. Martin Heidigger s concept of Man, a being in the world, is very
different from the Modern view of man as a thinking being. One believes that understanding comes
from a purely subject object perspective wherein the understanding of the world around us is
performed by our internal, completely separate, I because it is perfect and known innately while the
other believes that to be a being is to actively Be , which is the same as Heidigger s notion of Being,
and to Be is to exist or to be engaged in the world therefore connecting being, Being and the world
forming the concept of Dasein or a being in the world. To understand Heidigger s response one would
have to first understand what it is he s responding to. Cogito Ergo Sum summarizes what the Cartesian
man is all about. The idea that to exist is to think separates the world into the inner world and the
outside world; this idea resulted from Descartes search for an absolute truth which does not base its
validity on the external world, because ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Specifically, he looked into what is a human person because when Plato and the other classical
philosophers stated what being was, everybody else just automatically assumed that people just

in the world which basically meant that to Be, as in to literally exist, as a being involves the act of
engagement in the world we find ourselves

The Dissolution Of Yugoslavi Yugoslavia
The Dissolution of Yugoslavia The country of Yugoslavia was first formed as a kingdom in 1918 after
combining land areas from the now both defunct Ottoman and Austro Hungarian Empires and then
recreated as a Socialist state in 1945 after the Axis powers were defeated in World War II. The Soviet
Union took control of Yugoslavia after the war and wrote a new constitution for the country that
established six constituent republics in the federation: Bosnia Hercegovina, Croatia, Macedonia,
Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia. The Republic of Serbia also had two self governing provinces:
Vojvodina and Kosovo. Yugoslavia was a part of the Soviet Union until the Union dissolved in 1991
and as a result Yugoslavia soon followed, but this is about ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Exceptions to this pattern of stability were the marked increase of the Albanian population and a steep
decline in the numbers of Jews, ethnic Germans, and Hungarians after World War II (Cushman).
Another definitive cause of the Yugoslavian breakup was the nationalism of ethnic groups in the early
1990s. Nationalism replaced communism as the dominant ideology in the country. Slovenia and then
Croatia were the first to break away, but this caused Serbia to become hostile towards the two nations.
Consequently, the war in Croatia led to hundreds of thousands of refugees and also brought back
memories of the harsh acts of the Nazis in the 1940s. By 1992 a further conflict had broken out in
Bosnia, which had also succeeded from Yugoslavia. The Serbs who lived there were determined in
remaining within Yugoslavia and to help build a more homogenous Serbia. They received strong
backing from radical groups in Belgrade. Muslims were driven from their homes in carefully planned
operations that become known as ethnic cleansing . By 1993 the Bosnian Muslim government was
besieged in the capital Sarajevo, surrounded by Bosnian Serb forces who controlled around 70% of
Bosnia. In Central Bosnia, the mainly Muslim army was fighting a separate war against Bosnian
Croats who wished to be part of a greater Croatia. The presence of United Nations peacekeepers was
required to contain the situation. The idea from culminated in the Yugoslav Peace Conference,

An Analysis Of Clarke Thought On The Surface
Before this, Clarke thought everything was on the surface, thought that everything was so simple. But
as she stared at the deep laceration that tattooed her wrist, she knew that was merely a concept of an
untrue nature. The mark on her arm had layers; it held more intricacy than what met the eye. As she
scrutinised it, she was overwhelmed by the prodigious knowledge she had attained, she felt suffocated
by the capabilities of the bite on her wrist. She wondered how something so grotesque and so
aggressive, could be so bewildering and tragically beautiful all at once. It was art, Clarke thought.
That would make sense; art was always built on tragedy. It was tantalising her with its metallic glaze
and black and blue complexion, glaring right back at her. She held a fascination towards it, something
only an artist could have. It s something she would have captured with bold colours and defined lines,
though she knew that something with this much power could not be easily justified. She was so caught
up in its undeniable beauty that, for a moment, she almost dismissed her surroundings, and the pain
that her body embraced. Almost. She inhaled deeply, bringing herself back to reality and taking in the
smell of Mother Nature s conquest. She had gotten used to the lingering scent of death for the past
seven years, that it was merely an undertone of the smells of the small forest growing in the forgotten
mall she was condemned to. Her exhale was entangled with a rugged laugh. Who

Abraham Flexner s Medical Education Reform
Abraham Flexner was one of the most influential advocates of medical education reform in the United
States. Born to German Jewish immigrants on November 13, 1866 in Louisville, Kentucky, Flexner
attended Johns Hopkins and earned a bachelor s degree in 1886. Once earning his bachelor s degree,
Flexner returned to Kentucky to teach Latin and Greek at the high school in Louisville. In 1890
Flexner opened Mr. Flexner s School , his own private college preparatory school based on the idea
that there would be no formal curriculum, no examinations, and the students would not be graded on,
nor any academic records kept of their work. Remarkably, the school stood out at preparing students
for prestigious colleges (Institute for Advanced Study, n.d.). Flexner closed his school in 1905 and
returned to college where he received his master s degree from Harvard in 1906.
Flexner wrote a book entitled The American College in 1908 which was highly critical of American
universities and their teaching methodology. Flexner s book gained attention from Dr. Henry S.

Reflective Importance Of Writing
Following some time spent on reflection, I realize I learned to appreciate more than I expected from
this class. I enrolled in this class with the idea that I would most enjoy reading stories, watching
movies and analyzing each of them. Before attending this class, I honestly did not give as much
consideration to the writing process as I should have. As a consequence, most of my efforts to
adequately express my more passionate ideas failed. Essentially, like Sheriff Bell from the book No
Country for Old Men, I felt overwhelmed and I had to accept that I was not prepared to obtain the
result I had envisioned. Understandably, I admire writers who can effectively present their ideas and
produce the outcome they chose. If I eventually master each of the steps in the writing process, not
only will my writing improve but also my enjoyment of writing will increase because I will have the
skills to satisfactorily share my perspective. Accordingly, I came to understand I need to increase my
proficiency within several areas of the writing process if I want others to fully comprehend and
appreciate my efforts to communicate my ideas. Though I cannot claim that my other cross circular
outcomes, such as critical thinking skills, are perfect, what I came to appreciate from this class is the
importance of the writing process.
Although, there are many areas that I need to develop to become a better writer, editing is the one I
ended up concentrating on the most. Mostly, I focused on

Justice In Ancient Civilizations
Since the beginning of time, society imposes us different rules of etiquettes that we need to follow.
Keep your mouth close while eating, be polite with older people, hold the door for ladies etc... These
are actual ones but its interesting to see the evolution of the etiquette through time. At a certain point
in the middle age, it was convenable to burp as loudly as you can after eating to show your host that
the food was good. In fact, the rules of etiquettes are strongly linked with social values like respect.
Other social values were really important in ancient civilizations. Despite the lack of organisation of
their societies, justice and religion were concerns for every leader of these civilizations. In this

As we seen in the first paragraph, many books of law have been created to regulate many activities or
forbid others. Ancient Egypt has their book of the dead, Ancient Mesopotamia their Hammurabi s
code and ancient Hittites had a pretty similar book of law created by using Hammurabi s code has a
base . It s interesting how these texts are advanced for the time they were written. Has a leader, you
need a way to spread these ideas through all the civilization. They did it without printers or social
network, this is pretty impressive. Some surprising policies have been made following this justice
concept. For example, Eye for an eye law was made by Mesopotamians to penalized the criminal by
doing him the same thing he did or something equivalent. In our modern society, we would think this
is horrible and this practice would be forbidden but in these times, it s a way to increase justice and
make their world more equal. Moreover, using a strong military system, Greek civilizations like
Sparta have a justice system based on their military order. Some could say that this is not justice
because there is not really an establish system but the will to regulate activities of the population is a
form of justice for me. In brief, civilizations are sharing the same justice desire but use different

Plato Of Radical Free Will
I believe that we have radical free will instead of genuine free will because I agree with Sartre that we
choose to react and feel a certain way towards everything. This concept can be easily demonstrated in
real life examples and through first hand experiences of majority of people. Main problem with
genuine free will is that it comes with the ambiguous concept of substance dualism. On top of that,
ideas argued by dualists contain problems that cannot be empirically proven. An important distinction
between genuine free will versus radical free will is that Plato of genuine free will believes that the
human body consists of two materials: the body and soul. He claims that the soul, or our mind, is
independent of the body and thus is not influenced

Summary Of The Working Poor
Michael James Ms. Phelps Pols 210 02 The Working Poor Essay The Working Poor is a story of hard
times in our lives, that can vary in times of the poor struggles, middle class struggles, and just overall
all struggles of everyday people whom have difficult times in their lives. In this reading we found
there were difficult things happening to people in this book in different chapters and nothing really
had a positive note from what the basis of the story had led us to believe. There is some of this story
where its chapter talks about money and how it is breaking down people s lives simply with all aspects
that are fairly difficult with money; such as income tax as its goes into how the people cannot do their
tax returns or pay their taxes, people being scammed out their money, little to no trust in banks, and it
even mentions certain tax company in its efforts to stress the difficulties faced. Another speaks on
some people life stories Ms. Christine, Ms. Debra Hall, and Ms. Caroline Payne. These women faced
many difficulties that it speaks about and it almost becomes a consideration to be a biography in the
story in this chapter really. Later in the chapters it brings on some hardships on the men in the story
where some of these men make difficult decisions and they are not good to be honest they bring
hardship to their families to the next level because these are times where men should have been

The Gilded Age And Imperialism Expansion

Part I: Short Essay Format
Question #1, American attitudes toward our culture can be paradoxical The Gilded Age or Imperialism
expansion examine the conflicting values that America held for each.
The gilded age was a period in history that caused a vast transformation due to the increase of
American industrialization. Values and attitudes toward The Gilded Age varied.
The poor workers often saw the changed caused by the Gilded Age as corrupt, where the rich business
men looked at it as a positive change. The poor laborers in the gilded age often viewed the change that
occurred during the era as a negative one. The fact that working conditions for laborers were poor was
no secret. A passage from Upton Sinclair s The Jungle depicts these conditions of an old man stating,
He worked in a place where his feet were soaked in chemicals and it was not long before the
chemicals had eaten through his boots. Then sores began to break out on his feet and grew worse and
worse. In the end of this story the man continued to work until he died because he needed to take care
of his family. This alone would tend to develop an attitude of negativity by poor immigrants and
laborers toward changes made by the gilded. For more proof one can find various examples of strikes
and civil unrest by workers usually against business owners and police. This too is evidence that the
poor laborers of the time were unhappy with their situation.

Historical Importance of Civil Codes and Laws
Amy Webb HIS 121 02 WESTERN CIVILIZATION I Fall, 2011 Historical Importance of Civil
Codes and Laws When studying history we must consider the importance of law. Before there was
written word, and set guides for what we consider civil behavior, there was no way for a civilization to
grow under a centralized government with set laws and order to influence the actions of its population.
When a crime was committed there was no set punishment. Where there is no law there is no
transgression (KJV Bible, Romans 4:15). Historically civil code and laws have set forth social order,
encouraged education of the population and provided for identity of class and gender. The first known

A Report On The Housing Of Silverwater
Silverwater Summary
Ask a local about Silverwater and they will tell you it s a virtually undiscovered residential suburb
close to anything and everything a person could need or want. Most people think Silverwater is mostly
a commercial area, but it s not. The commercial areas are scattered across the suburb amongst the
housings and dwellings in local neighbourhoods. It s home to several small to medium sized
businesses from warehouses and manufacturers to boutique stores and services. There are some large
companies that make Silverwater home, but this Sydney suburb has become more residential over the

Market Structure: The coffee industry is an extremely competitive one. However, the market structure
of the coffee industry and specifically the coffee bean industry that provides the raw materials for
Yuban could be described as an oligopoly. The specific characteristics of this oligopoly are, however,
more reminiscent of a cartel because a relatively small number of suppliers control the supply and
distribution of coffee beans globally (Igami, 2011). Consequently, Yuban, which is a brand within the
Kraft Foods umbrella, has limited choice in selecting its supplies. The coffee bean industry was
controlled officially through a cartel structure until 1989 under the International Coffee Agreement or
ICA but thereafter market competition with new entrants such as Vietnam eroded the control of this
official cartel organization (Igami, 2011). Yet, because coffee bean production is largely limited to
certain geographic regions, these countries governments express a great deal of control over which
entities control production and distribution.
Competitive Barriers: There are a number of significant competitive barriers within the coffee bean
and coffee grind industry. While virtually any firm can purchase the raw materials or even the finished
product in the form of ground coffee, the packaging and distribution of the product is a much more
sophisticated endeavor. The most significant

The Role Of Management Accountants And The Past And Recent...
The role of management accountant has been attracting a lot of interest since the principle of scientific
management was published by Frederick Winslow Taylor in 1911, which marked the birth of
management accounting theory. When researching the roles of management accountant in both past
and recent years, it is obvious to find that things have changed a lot. This essay is going to briefly
introduce both the past and the recent roles of management accountants first. Then discuss the reasons
for management accountants changing role. After that the analysis of the advantages this changing role
will bring about and the limitations it has will be given. Finally, some suggestions about how to treat
this changing role in today s economic environment will be offered.
In past years, traditional management accountants are score keepers , they provide information to
facilitate the process of assessing organization s actual performance against its planned activity
(Burns, Quinn, Warren, Oliveira, 2010). They mainly make people do what they are expected to do.
While now they are acting as internal consultants of the company. They spend less time on routine
tasks and more time on giving advice to managers to help them to develop a business sensitivity in
making decisions.
There are many factors facilitating the change in the role of management accountants. From external
aspects, firstly, with the rapid development in science and technology, more and more advanced and

Essay about Understanding Individual Resistance in...
Due to economic environment that is increasingly volatile, change is necessary and inevitable within
any organisation with resistance to change as a key concept (Hayes 2010). It s been suggested that one
of the main reasons organisation face resistance is due to Parochial self interest , whereby some
individuals are more concerned with their individual vested interest and how it will be compromised
when the change takes place (Agocs 1997). It s been suggest that the most important aspect of an
organisational change is to understand an individual resistance groups don t change, teams don t

the organisation determines the outcome (Hayes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also Agocs (1997) suggested that change need to be understood and managed in a way that people can
cope effectively with it. One ways individual may resist organisational change, is when an Individual
within a group selects information which reinforces their subjective belief, values and the status quo
or the change represents uncertainty, they fear the unknown or they are concerned about their own
personal failure (Kotze 2006). Hultman (1995 cited in Kotze 2006) argued that resistance consists of
two dimensions, active and passive. Passive resistance is displayed by behaviours such as public
support, but failure to implement the change, delaying, and withholding information or support. Active
resistance includes behaviours such as being critical, selective use of facts, sabotaging, and starting
rumours. Personal factors are potential source of resistance to change, habits play a crucial role in
determines whether the individual increases their resistant, in particular if they are deeply held habits
serves their self interest (Dennis and Garman 2010). Also, individual resistant can be stated through
false census, whereby an individual expresses their self interest visibly. Therefore, what is needed is to
question the basic underlying assumption that could be play a role in a supporting the individual and
group resistance (Kotze 2006). Also related to personal factors as sources of resistance to change, it is
readily acknowledged that

Softball for many people is the way of life, we eat, sleep, and play softball. Softball is a great sport for
a lot of girls that want to be active and even stay out of trouble. Softball can be great for starting
conversation because on the field you always have to talk, so your teammates now what is going on

Sometimes a team full of friendships, is a team that s not ready for big the big game, or a team that

improve on the simple things, like the perfect swing, or the perfect play. Friendship can win
championships, because everyone knows what your strong point is, and talk to you when you aren t
trying that hard. And when you know how to talk with everyone they will soon find out how important
this is for everyone. And want to help win the championship for the ones that want it most. At the end
of each day its more than a friendship, it s more like a family. Everyone comes together at the end of

18th Amendment Pros And Cons
3rd Housing soldiers was a common practice militaries used for shelter. It was a form of home
invasion by the government, and prohibiting this gave citizens more sense of security to their property,
and not involving them in the war which they aren t fighting. Although, the only time that soldiers

Maintaining Luciano Benetton s ability to transform sweaters into messages, shirts into signs, and
jeans into signifiers, the company sought out an artist, not an advertiser who respected the rules of
traditional marketing . Benetton hired Oliviero Toscani, a photographer who has earned recognition
from his edgy photography style. Toscani chose to use print and poster as his media, a very unusual
advertising decision for a clothing company. In addition, because television advertisements
historically have cost retailers up to 62% of their advertising budgets, Benetton initially refused to

as MTV in the U.S.2
At the heart of Toscani s basic advertising and marketing strategy was what he often referred to as a

world, the expenses incurred to tailor campaigns to specific national markets would have been
enormous. To reduce these high costs, Toscani attempted to bring the world s markets together by
using a single advertisement that would appeal to many cultures, races,

Jurassic Park Ethical Issues
The fourth film in the Jurassic Park series was released the summer of 2015, 22 years after the first

Factory Animal Abuse
Moreover, factory farmed animals often receive low doses of antibiotics, creating bacterial resistance
that is passed between bacteria and ultimately making bacteria more resistant to drugs needed by
humans. The CDC reports that in this country, more people die from MRSA
Lomedico 3 than they do of AIDS (Boyles 1). The broad use of antibiotics among people and animals
has contributed to the more frequent occurrence of drug resistant MRSA. Antibiotics are also being
used as a growth hormone on perfectly healthy animals that are not even ill in order to speed up their

The cloud is increasingly becoming a very common reality in the IT industry. The idea of storing files
in places other than the hard drive of a computer or the server in the next room has opened a door for
new beginnings and unending possibilities. Many companies have IT departments that are internal to
their company. Without these IT departments many companies would have many non working
computers, networks, and other office devices that would hinder the business from making money.
The current IT infrastructure is mostly maintained and operated in house by contracted employees that
usually have a great knowledge of general electronics and computers. Being that IT is so important to
how companies work it is always under scrutiny to continue to develop. With the cloud in mind there
has recently been talk about how IT could use the cloud to advance their efforts. Information
Technology as a Service (ITaaS) has become a new reality for some companies. The idea is that IT
organizations can use the cloud to move away from an Infrastructure platform to a Service model.

Anti Drug Abuse Act Of 1986
In 2010, the Obama Administration passed into law The Fair Sentencing Act, which directly targeted
the harshly different punishments for people caught in possession of crack versus people caught in
possession of cocaine and effectively overruled the punishments of each drug outlined in the Anti
Drug Abuse Act of 1986. Immediately, there was discussion regarding the purpose and effectiveness
of this act versus the 1986 act. The Anti Drug Abuse Act of 1986, although it was eagerly pursued and
supported by black communities, has ultimately been accused of being indirectly, or purposefully,
discriminatory towards African Americans. This law established shockingly different punishments for
users of crack versus users of cocaine. As is commonly known and has been proven statistically,
African Americans are more likely to consume crack than cocaine and are more likely to consume
crack than any other race would.
For decades since the 1986 Act, those prosecuted for possession of crack cocaine were given harsher
punishments than those who were caught with cocaine. Despite minimal differences between the
effectiveness and formulation of either drug, crack cocaine was prosecuted at a 100:1 ratio to cocaine.
Many questioned why the gap existed, but ultimately the reasoning lied with who was consuming
either drug. Crack cocaine was popular in extremely urban areas, prone to house more minorities than
suburban areas. Cocaine, however, was typically a more elitist drug consumed and

others. And because of this, you will not have issues with the cleanliness of the entire place.
Your employees would have higher productivity particularly since they are only going to concentrate
on their work. This would surely reflect in your business things in a good way. And most of your
employees would be more focused on a better performance.
Since you hire them for that specific task alone, it will not be hard for them to maintain everything.
This would also mean that the entire area will be kept clean. If you think about it, this will be a very
good thing for your needs and the image of the entire establishment.
You must learn to be organized before anything else. Office cleaning will not be efficient when you
still do not know where your papers are being kept. Develop this into a habit, and you can start having
more time for your actual tasks. Show your competence when other employees want the same high
position which you have your eyes on.
Do your part in keeping the toiles clean. Remember that smell from these spaces can easily spread

Development Theory And Jean Jacques Rousseau s Theory Of...
Four well known theorists each created their own ideas on how children develop mentally and
physically, how they learn from others and the conceptual of what they are like when they are first
brought into the world. Through research and their own experience, these scientists challenged the
current beliefs of their time on two topics: active and reactive development and constant or ever
changing development. The philosopher John Locke supported reactive development where children
developed completely based on what was happening in their life and growth was constant. In his eyes,
society determined how a baby boy or girl would mature and has stages that can provide an advance
declaration of their physical and mental growth in the following years. However, the philosopher Jean
Jacques Rousseau supported active development and ever changing development. To Rousseau, kids
progress in how they think and look is set in stages where each stage is not the same as the last. Each
theory is based on an angle different from the others that affect the researches questions, processes and
interpretation: psychoanalytic, learning, cognitive, contextual and evolutionary. The physician
Sigmund Freud created the concept psychoanalytic theory and also accepted reactive development and
discontinuous growth. Freud created the id, ego and superego personality components that determined
how society ruled our lives. This way of thinking gave birth to psychosexual development where there

Immigration and Border Protection
Running Head: Immigration and Border Protection 1 Immigration and Border Protection of
Department of Homeland Security Donald Capak Keiser University Immigration and Border
Protection 2 Abstract It is my belief that the dissolution of the former U.S. Immigration and
Naturalization and Customs Service and the creation of separate agencies under the Department of
Homeland Security (DHS) was sound political decision. It is my belief that it was also a move to show
the American people that the government was making attempts to help strengthen our security. In the

Not only did this move reorganize three different organizations into one, but it also established a more
unified system. This in turn helped communication and response to threats. With a single organization,
instead of two or three, it helped keep the focus on the primary goal; there would be no more varying
paths. It was basically unified under one leadership. Another reason that this was done was because
the Customs and Border Protection was in need of a serious overhaul. Originally the Immigration and
Naturalization Service received its roots after the American Civil war. Many states began passing their
own laws regarding immigration, the federal government saw this as a problem and passed the
Immigration Act of 1891, making immigration a federal manner.(2010, Immigration and
Naturalization Service. Retrieved from
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U.S._Customs_and_Border_Protection#U.S._Customs_Service.) In the
early 1900 s immigration laws started becoming stricter to help protect U.S. citizens and their wages.
Laws in 1921 and 1924 began limiting the amount of Immigrants entering the U.S. based on quotas. In
1940, President Roosevelt transferred the INS to the department of Justice where it would remain for
the next forty three years. (2010, Immigration and Naturalization Service. Retrieved from

Conflicts In The Wuthering Heights
The treatment of the poor at the hands was polar. Where some were very harsh to them, some like Mr.
Lockwood (the initial master of the Wuthering Heights) was strict but still kinder.
The tussle between Mr. Heathcliff (poor)and Mr. Lockwood s eldest son(rich) serves as a metaphor.
It also brings to notice the ever ongoing tussle between the will of heart and the will of the society,
specially in the case of women who are forced by the society and by the already laid norms to defy
what they actually want and be satisfied with what their family or the society want. The aspect of
human selfishness, jealousy and greed are also depicted in the book.
Summary:
The story starts with a certain mr.lockwood renting Wuthering Heights for rest and recreation. Soon he

The Hobbit Literary Criticism
Independent Critical Essay The Hobbit by J.R.R Tolkien is a novel that was published on September
21st, 1937. The novel tells the story of the young Bilbo Baggins who has been limited to the simple
lifestyle of a hobbit. Bilbo Baggins was no different from the average hobbit until Gandalf, the wizard,
shows up unannounced at the hobbit s door. This is the beginning of Bilbo s unexpected journey, in
which his physical limitations, bravery, and courage are put to the test. Along with Gandalf, Bilbo also
meets the the twelve dwarves who refer to Bilbo as the burglar and are led by Thorin Oakenshield.
These fourteen men embark on a quest to regain power of their homeland which was taken over by
Smaug, the dragon, many years ago. Writer Joseph ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Joseph Pulitzer s final criterion is for the writing to be accurate so that the reader will be guided by its
light . In the case of The Hobbit, it is accurate to it s genre which is fantasy. Fantasy is a fictional
genre which contains characters that are often times not human or posses magical powers. The time
period in which these stories take place are often set in the medieval ages and the events that occur are
impossible and not limited to the rules of reality. One particular character that falls directly into the
category of fantasy is Gandalf, the wizard. Bilbo s first time meeting Gandalf was quite unexpected so
when Bilbo meets Gandalf he speaks about the amazing feats that Gandalf has

Marshmallow Experiment
The marshmallow Experiment is a concept based on the famous saying patience is a virtue. In my
opinion I can compare their choice of snack they chose to wait for to something I might really treasure
or want at this point in my life. This experiment predicts that the children who decided they could wait
longer to get two marshmallows instead of just one, are proven to be by far more successful in their
futures.
This study shows that people want instant gratification often. People tend to choose the fast route
rather than being patient and waiting for something better. A great example of this statement to me is
one of my past experiences. As a senior in high school the thing I saw most important was getting my
first car. I soon got a job saved ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I believe that this desire for a car was important for me to gain more freedom from being home. Well
sure enough the time came where I had enough money to fulfill my desires. And here is where my
argument stands, had I waited and saved just a couple more checks I could have got myself something
very reliable and maybe even faster or more luxurious. As you can guess my precious 2001 mustang
broke down in a matter of months. I was carless and anxious to buy another car.
Same rule applies for example when a tobacco addict isn t able to quit smoking. The main notion of
this issue, In my opinion is a lack of self control. The children in the video and experiment are also
pulling their hair and trying their hardest to fight the urge of going and grabbing the marshmallow or
snack. This to me shows that the feeling had different types of emotions going on inside their heads
for them to react the way they were. And this experiment to me isn t anything big, I mean if someone
really wants something, they will do whatever is in their power to try and pursue that goal. As a
college student if I want to pass all my classes and get great grades I have to risk long nights, long
days, headaches and lots of money in

Definitions And Historical View Of Gartner
1.3.1.3.1 IoT Definitions and Historical View
Gartner (2015) forecasts that in 2020 almost 20 billion devices will be connected together and form
the Internet of Things (IoT) of the future, which is a rise by fairly 2000% from 0.9 billion in 2009
(Gartner.com, 2015).
The topic of IoT has hoarded much interest to the point that it has been classified as a disruptive
technology (Downes, 2013, Feki et al., 2013). The concept of the Internet of Things is not new; it has
been around since the early 90s. It has been envisioned in many forms yet all the different visions
have one thing in common, the connectedness of devices (Donovan, 2014). In 1991, it was already
foretold that specialized elements of hardware and software connected together ... Show more content

Moreover, the Internet of Things, or as called by others, the Internet of Everything is a seen as a global
network of devices and machines that have the ability to interact and communicate with each other
(Kortuem et al., 2010, Lee and Lee, 2015). Seven years later, the International Telecommunication
Community adapted the definition of IoT in the ITU T Y.2060 (06/2012) publication stating that the
IoT is a global infrastructure for the information society that enables advanced services by
interconnecting physical and virtual things on the foundation of current and developing information
and communication technologies (ITU, 2015).
In addition to how the IoT has been defined by the ITU, there have been many variations of the
definition that revolve around the same centre but adapted to the view of the organisational entity that
is looking at the IoT model. In Atzori, Iera and Morabito (2010), the authors gather and funnel the
different IoT visions that had been proposed over the past years into three main groups. These groups
are: (1) Things oriented, where the emphasis is on the objects and finding models to integrate them,
(2) Internet oriented, where the focus is on different networking possibilities that would establish
efficient connections between the objects, and (3) Semantic oriented, which by using semantic
technologies the

Catherine De Medici The Main Cause Of The Saint...
Was Catherine de Medici the main cause of The Saint Bartholomew s Massacre? Catherine was an
Italian woman who married a French King, Henry II. They had ten children of which three were boys:
Francis II, Charles IX and Henry III would later rule as king. Catherine enjoyed her role as Queen and
mother and had no involvement with the King s affairs. It wasn t until after the King s death that she
made her presence known. There are a few reason s why The Saint Bartholomew s Day Massacre
occurred. Could it have began with the Huguenots assuming the Spanish were planning to destroy
them, and decided to attack first. Catherine may not have had any intention on starting the second war
against the Huguenots but her being in the right place with the wrong person did. It was only because
of Catherine s visit to her daughter Queen Elizabeth of Spain while in the presence of a catholic and
military leader, Duke of Alba, did the Huguenots leaders think the Spanish were plotting an attack
against them. The Huguenots attempted and failed to kidnap King Charles IX, which proved to be a
bad decision that started the second war. This action caused Catherine, as Regent to Charles IX, to
drop her policy of tolerating the Huguenots and siding with the Catholics. She issued an edict
withdrawing all freedom of worship for Huguenots and ordered all Huguenot ministers to leave the
country (History). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Essay On Malicious Algorithms
In [10], author proposed a scheme which identifies the malicious nodes by using aggregate signature
algorithm. It associates three algorithms.
(1) The proof creating algorithm: Whenever the nodes involved in a communication receive a
message, they create a proof that is based on aggregate signature algorithm.
(2) The checkup algorithm: This algorithm is called when the source node suspects that the
transmitted packets are dropped. If the destination reports that it does not receive all transmitted
packets, it will invoke this algorithm to detect the malicious node.
(3) The diagnosis algorithm: works with the results of check up algorithm. Simulation is done in ns2
simulator. Using this proposed method, overhead is reduced and packet ... Show more content on

Performance metrics are measured which shows that packet loss is less than AODV. Packet Loss
increases as mobility increases. In route discovery process, an intermediate node will try to create a
route and this route should not contain a node whose legitimacy ratio lesser the lower threshold level.
[18] Proposed a black hole avoidance scheme. An enhancement is made in the AODV routing protocol
to eliminate the black hole. The source first sends the route request and waits for responses from all
neighboring nodes with which it gets a reliable route. According to this proposed scheme the source
node should not send data packets immediately after receiving the first reply. Timer Expired Table is
used to set timer after the reception of first reply. This table stores the sequence number of the packet.
Collect Route Reply Table is used to store arrival time. Node s waiting time depends on the distance.
Entries in the table help to identify malicious node.
[19] presented a black hole detection scheme. In this method, when the source node receives RREP
packets, it generates a new RREQ. RREQ has the highest sequence number and it is unicast through
the route which the RREP packet was received. Malicious node generates a RREP with highest
sequence number on receiving RREQ. Malicious node sends the fake RREP packet to the source node.
Now source identifies the malicious node. This method has very less overhead.

  • 2. Designing A 3d Design Of 3d Printing 3d printing is the process of three dimensional solid objects from a computer file. The following information is about 3D printing and the processes that it takes to 3D print. There are many pro and cons to 3D printing that I will list below. In this paper I will also talk about what equipment it will take to make a 3D print, But first we will talk about the steps to make a 3D design. There are eight steps to print a 3D design. The first step is to start with making a virtual design of an object you want to create. The file that you create the image from is called a (CAD) or Computer Aided Design file. This software may provide some hints to the structural integrity you can expect in the finished product. It will also help you with specific data about certain materials to create virtual simulations of how the project will behave under certain conditions. The second step is called Conversion to STL. You will have to convert the CAD drawing, to the STL format. STL is an acronym for standard tessellation language. Which is a file format developed for 3D Systems in 1987 for use by its stereolithography apparatus (SLA) machines. Most 3D printers use STL files in addition to some proprietary file types such as, ZPR by Z corporation. Some of the types of printers include, Sterolithography or (SLA), Digital Light Processing (DLP), Fused deposition modeling (FDM), Selective Laser Sintering (SLS), Selective laser melting (SLM), Electronic Beam Melting (EBM), and Lamainatied ... • 3. Overview and Challenges of Indian Gaming in San Diego The history of Native American tribes is a long, complicated, and more often than not, a sad one. Today, thanks to efforts to help tribes preserve their identity, culture and numbers by means of reservations, many Native Americans not only survive, but also thrive. Indian gaming is one means that has been a source of great income and prosperity for Native American tribes in the San Diego region. Although the economic impact of gaming has been very positive, critics of legalizing and regulating such casinos have expressed concerns regarding potentially negative impacts. While Indian gaming in San Diego has positive impacts for the economy and upliftment of Indian tribes, negative impacts could relate to industry monopolization. According to the National Gambling Impact Study Commission Report (n.d.), large scale Indian casino gambling had its origins in 1987. During this year, the Supreme Court found hat the state of California had no authority over gambling activities within Indian reservations. The Court also recognized the need for regulation, however, and Congress passed the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (AGRA) in 1988. One of the provisions of the act requires that revenues from gambling be used for the economic development and welfare of Indian tribes in their region. This has been one of the primary advantages of Indian gaming in California in general and in San Diego specifically. This is evident in the Barona reservation, where gaming has had significant impacts ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A Rush Of Blood To The Head Analysis A Rush of Cash, Love, and 9/11 to the Head Coldplay s sophomore album A Rush of Blood to the Head , harbors many incredible songs, including the tenth song on the record for which the album is named; therefore, the artists must have wanted to install an emphasis on this particular song. The album was released in 2002 after the September 11th terrorist attacks, and the song, A Rush of Blood to the Head in particular has many interesting elements pointing towards that event as inspiration. The lead singer of Coldplay, Chris Martin, has said that the song is an homage to Johnny Cash s way of singing because Martin wanted to sing a song in a low key like that of Cash. A literal analysis of the lyrics interpret a man who is very impulsive, and he will do anything to keep the woman he loves. Chris Martin admits that after learning about and appreciating different artists such as Cash and after getting so much criticism, Coldplay just decided not to care what everyone else thought and to make the music that they wanted to make (Martin). The inspired team then took it upon themselves to make a concerted effort to conceive a sound similar to the acoustic low key guitar riffs of Cash. • 6. Boptany Importance Of Science Botany, the science of the vegetable kingdom, is one of the most attractive, most useful, and most extensive departments of human knowledge. It is, above every other, the science of beauty, stated Joseph Paxton, a gardener and member of the British Parliament in the nineteenth century (Paxton 1).Why is botany such a enjoyable profession? The many activities you can attend such as growing and trimming are both easy ways to make money ,but take a lot of responsibility. As one prepares for a future in the field of Biology, one must consider the historical background, the educational requirements, the work environment, the duties and responsibilities, wages and benefits, and the potential for advancement of Botany. Botany began near the Neolithic Period but wasn t scientifically studied until the 1700 s. During the Neolithic Period they had the knowledge of farming and soon began growing their own crops. Fruits and vegetables have been an important part of social development since the beginning of time. In Ancient Greece and Rome philosophers urged more learning in sciences, they began learning more about plants. The philosopher Theophrastus was known as The Father of Botany because of two seminal works that were used for the next 1500 years and survive today (Mason). For the next 1500 years, there would be little development and most botanical studies were limited to places of learning such as universities and monasteries (Mason). Opto switches use laser technology and Jersey Jacks has been putting full color LCD screens into his Wizard of Oz machines. Moving on to how the lights and sounds effect us as a people, I believe that the flashing lights and loud noises emitted from a pinball machine just appeal to our curious and excitable nature. Nothing can capture my sons attention faster than the Star Wars pinball machine at the local laundromat, even more so than the racing arcade games and the vending machines right next to it. The reason for this, in my opinion, first off is the noise, he hears the dings and whizzes, and sound bites from the beloved movie, recognizes the familiar faces of Luke Skywalker, Yoda, and Chewie on the board, an immediatly, he has to play it. • 10. Martin Heidigger s Response To Modernity Analysis To understand Martin Heidigger s response to Modernity one would have to examine the relationship between their notions of Man. Martin Heidigger s concept of Man, a being in the world, is very different from the Modern view of man as a thinking being. One believes that understanding comes from a purely subject object perspective wherein the understanding of the world around us is performed by our internal, completely separate, I because it is perfect and known innately while the other believes that to be a being is to actively Be , which is the same as Heidigger s notion of Being, and to Be is to exist or to be engaged in the world therefore connecting being, Being and the world forming the concept of Dasein or a being in the world. To understand Heidigger s response one would have to first understand what it is he s responding to. Cogito Ergo Sum summarizes what the Cartesian man is all about. The Dissolution Of Yugoslavi Yugoslavia The Dissolution of Yugoslavia The country of Yugoslavia was first formed as a kingdom in 1918 after combining land areas from the now both defunct Ottoman and Austro Hungarian Empires and then recreated as a Socialist state in 1945 after the Axis powers were defeated in World War II. The Soviet Union took control of Yugoslavia after the war and wrote a new constitution for the country that established six constituent republics in the federation: Bosnia Hercegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia. Exceptions to this pattern of stability were the marked increase of the Albanian population and a steep decline in the numbers of Jews, ethnic Germans, and Hungarians after World War II (Cushman). Another definitive cause of the Yugoslavian breakup was the nationalism of ethnic groups in the early 1990s. Nationalism replaced communism as the dominant ideology in the country. Slovenia and then Croatia were the first to break away, but this caused Serbia to become hostile towards the two nations. Consequently, the war in Croatia led to hundreds of thousands of refugees and also brought back memories of the harsh acts of the Nazis in the 1940s. By 1992 a further conflict had broken out in Bosnia, which had also succeeded from Yugoslavia. The Serbs who lived there were determined in remaining within Yugoslavia and to help build a more homogenous Serbia. They received strong backing from radical groups in Belgrade. Muslims were driven from their homes in carefully planned operations that become known as ethnic cleansing . By 1993 the Bosnian Muslim government was besieged in the capital Sarajevo, surrounded by Bosnian Serb forces who controlled around 70% of Bosnia. In Central Bosnia, the mainly Muslim army was fighting a separate war against Bosnian Croats who wished to be part of a greater Croatia. • 12. An Analysis Of Clarke Thought On The Surface Before this, Clarke thought everything was on the surface, thought that everything was so simple. But as she stared at the deep laceration that tattooed her wrist, she knew that was merely a concept of an untrue nature. The mark on her arm had layers; it held more intricacy than what met the eye. As she scrutinised it, she was overwhelmed by the prodigious knowledge she had attained, she felt suffocated by the capabilities of the bite on her wrist. She wondered how something so grotesque and so aggressive, could be so bewildering and tragically beautiful all at once. It was art, Clarke thought. That would make sense; art was always built on tragedy. It was tantalising her with its metallic glaze and black and blue complexion, glaring right back at her. She held a fascination towards it, something only an artist could have. It s something she would have captured with bold colours and defined lines, though she knew that something with this much power could not be easily justified. She was so caught up in its undeniable beauty that, for a moment, she almost dismissed her surroundings, and the pain that her body embraced. Almost. She inhaled deeply, bringing herself back to reality and taking in the smell of Mother Nature s conquest. She had gotten used to the lingering scent of death for the past seven years, that it was merely an undertone of the smells of the small forest growing in the forgotten mall she was condemned to. Her exhale was entangled with a rugged laugh. Who ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. Abraham Flexner s Medical Education Reform Abraham Flexner was one of the most influential advocates of medical education reform in the United States. Born to German Jewish immigrants on November 13, 1866 in Louisville, Kentucky, Flexner attended Johns Hopkins and earned a bachelor s degree in 1886. Once earning his bachelor s degree, Flexner returned to Kentucky to teach Latin and Greek at the high school in Louisville. In 1890 Flexner opened Mr. Flexner s School , his own private college preparatory school based on the idea that there would be no formal curriculum, no examinations, and the students would not be graded on, nor any academic records kept of their work. Remarkably, the school stood out at preparing students for prestigious colleges (Institute for Advanced Study, n.d.). Flexner closed his school in 1905 and returned to college where he received his master s degree from Harvard in 1906. Flexner wrote a book entitled The American College in 1908 which was highly critical of American universities and their teaching methodology. Flexner s book gained attention from Dr. Henry S. • 14. Reflective Importance Of Writing Following some time spent on reflection, I realize I learned to appreciate more than I expected from this class. I enrolled in this class with the idea that I would most enjoy reading stories, watching movies and analyzing each of them. Before attending this class, I honestly did not give as much consideration to the writing process as I should have. As a consequence, most of my efforts to adequately express my more passionate ideas failed. Essentially, like Sheriff Bell from the book No Country for Old Men, I felt overwhelmed and I had to accept that I was not prepared to obtain the result I had envisioned. Understandably, I admire writers who can effectively present their ideas and produce the outcome they chose. If I eventually master each of the steps in the writing process, not only will my writing improve but also my enjoyment of writing will increase because I will have the skills to satisfactorily share my perspective. Accordingly, I came to understand I need to increase my proficiency within several areas of the writing process if I want others to fully comprehend and appreciate my efforts to communicate my ideas. Though I cannot claim that my other cross circular outcomes, such as critical thinking skills, are perfect, what I came to appreciate from this class is the importance of the writing process. Although, there are many areas that I need to develop to become a better writer, editing is the one I ended up concentrating on the most. Mostly, I focused on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Keep your mouth close while eating, be polite with older people, hold the door for ladies etc... These are actual ones but its interesting to see the evolution of the etiquette through time. At a certain point in the middle age, it was convenable to burp as loudly as you can after eating to show your host that the food was good. In fact, the rules of etiquettes are strongly linked with social values like respect. Other social values were really important in ancient civilizations. It s interesting how these texts are advanced for the time they were written. Has a leader, you need a way to spread these ideas through all the civilization. They did it without printers or social network, this is pretty impressive. Some surprising policies have been made following this justice concept. For example, Eye for an eye law was made by Mesopotamians to penalized the criminal by doing him the same thing he did or something equivalent. In our modern society, we would think this is horrible and this practice would be forbidden but in these times, it s a way to increase justice and make their world more equal. Moreover, using a strong military system, Greek civilizations like Sparta have a justice system based on their military order. This concept can be easily demonstrated in real life examples and through first hand experiences of majority of people. Main problem with genuine free will is that it comes with the ambiguous concept of substance dualism. On top of that, ideas argued by dualists contain problems that cannot be empirically proven. An important distinction between genuine free will versus radical free will is that Plato of genuine free will believes that the human body consists of two materials: the body and soul. In this reading we found there were difficult things happening to people in this book in different chapters and nothing really had a positive note from what the basis of the story had led us to believe. There is some of this story where its chapter talks about money and how it is breaking down people s lives simply with all aspects that are fairly difficult with money; such as income tax as its goes into how the people cannot do their tax returns or pay their taxes, people being scammed out their money, little to no trust in banks, and it even mentions certain tax company in its efforts to stress the difficulties faced. Another speaks on some people life stories Ms. Christine, Ms. Debra Hall, and Ms. Caroline Payne. These women faced many difficulties that it speaks about and it almost becomes a consideration to be a biography in the story in this chapter really. Later in the chapters it brings on some hardships on the men in the story where some of these men make difficult decisions and they are not good to be honest they bring hardship to their families to the next level because these are times where men should have been considered the workers while they had a wife whom did house work and natured the ... The poor workers often saw the changed caused by the Gilded Age as corrupt, where the rich business men looked at it as a positive change. The poor laborers in the gilded age often viewed the change that occurred during the era as a negative one. The fact that working conditions for laborers were poor was no secret. A passage from Upton Sinclair s The Jungle depicts these conditions of an old man stating, He worked in a place where his feet were soaked in chemicals and it was not long before the chemicals had eaten through his boots. Then sores began to break out on his feet and grew worse and worse. In the end of this story the man continued to work until he died because he needed to take care of his family. This alone would tend to develop an attitude of negativity by poor immigrants and laborers toward changes made by the gilded. For more proof one can find various examples of strikes and civil unrest by workers usually against business owners and police. This too is evidence that the poor laborers of the time were unhappy with their situation. On the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Historical Importance of Civil Codes and Laws Amy Webb HIS 121 02 WESTERN CIVILIZATION I Fall, 2011 Historical Importance of Civil Codes and Laws When studying history we must consider the importance of law. Before there was written word, and set guides for what we consider civil behavior, there was no way for a civilization to grow under a centralized government with set laws and order to influence the actions of its population. When a crime was committed there was no set punishment. Where there is no law there is no transgression (KJV Bible, Romans 4:15). Market Structure: The coffee industry is an extremely competitive one. However, the market structure of the coffee industry and specifically the coffee bean industry that provides the raw materials for Yuban could be described as an oligopoly. The specific characteristics of this oligopoly are, however, more reminiscent of a cartel because a relatively small number of suppliers control the supply and distribution of coffee beans globally (Igami, 2011). Consequently, Yuban, which is a brand within the Kraft Foods umbrella, has limited choice in selecting its supplies. The coffee bean industry was controlled officially through a cartel structure until 1989 under the International Coffee Agreement or ICA but thereafter market competition with new entrants such as Vietnam eroded the control of this official cartel organization (Igami, 2011). Yet, because coffee bean production is largely limited to certain geographic regions, these countries governments express a great deal of control over which entities control production and distribution. One ways individual may resist organisational change, is when an Individual within a group selects information which reinforces their subjective belief, values and the status quo or the change represents uncertainty, they fear the unknown or they are concerned about their own personal failure (Kotze 2006). Hultman (1995 cited in Kotze 2006) argued that resistance consists of two dimensions, active and passive. Passive resistance is displayed by behaviours such as public support, but failure to implement the change, delaying, and withholding information or support. Active resistance includes behaviours such as being critical, selective use of facts, sabotaging, and starting rumours. Personal factors are potential source of resistance to change, habits play a crucial role in determines whether the individual increases their resistant, in particular if they are deeply held habits serves their self interest (Dennis and Garman 2010). Also, individual resistant can be stated through false census, whereby an individual expresses their self interest visibly. The accent was to be on the poor Jewish child in the streets. Mendel enthusiastically accepted the proposition and was soon ready with a series of photographs. It was the summer of 1939, the album never appeared and the photographs got lost in the war, and at the same time so did their subjects the Jewish ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Anti Drug Abuse Act Of 1986 In 2010, the Obama Administration passed into law The Fair Sentencing Act, which directly targeted the harshly different punishments for people caught in possession of crack versus people caught in possession of cocaine and effectively overruled the punishments of each drug outlined in the Anti Drug Abuse Act of 1986. Immediately, there was discussion regarding the purpose and effectiveness of this act versus the 1986 act. The Anti Drug Abuse Act of 1986, although it was eagerly pursued and supported by black communities, has ultimately been accused of being indirectly, or purposefully, discriminatory towards African Americans. This law established shockingly different punishments for users of crack versus users of cocaine. As is commonly known and has been proven statistically, African Americans are more likely to consume crack than cocaine and are more likely to consume crack than any other race would. For decades since the 1986 Act, those prosecuted for possession of crack cocaine were given harsher punishments than those who were caught with cocaine. Despite minimal differences between the effectiveness and formulation of either drug, crack cocaine was prosecuted at a 100:1 ratio to cocaine. Many questioned why the gap existed, but ultimately the reasoning lied with who was consuming either drug. Crack cocaine was popular in extremely urban areas, prone to house more minorities than suburban areas. Cocaine, however, was typically a more elitist drug consumed and ... • 41. Development Theory And Jean Jacques Rousseau s Theory Of... Four well known theorists each created their own ideas on how children develop mentally and physically, how they learn from others and the conceptual of what they are like when they are first brought into the world. Through research and their own experience, these scientists challenged the current beliefs of their time on two topics: active and reactive development and constant or ever changing development. The philosopher John Locke supported reactive development where children developed completely based on what was happening in their life and growth was constant. In his eyes, society determined how a baby boy or girl would mature and has stages that can provide an advance declaration of their physical and mental growth in the following years. However, the philosopher Jean Jacques Rousseau supported active development and ever changing development. To Rousseau, kids progress in how they think and look is set in stages where each stage is not the same as the last. Each theory is based on an angle different from the others that affect the researches questions, processes and interpretation: psychoanalytic, learning, cognitive, contextual and evolutionary. The physician Sigmund Freud created the concept psychoanalytic theory and also accepted reactive development and discontinuous growth. Freud created the id, ego and superego personality components that determined how society ruled our lives. This way of thinking gave birth to psychosexual development where there are five ... Immigration and Border Protection Running Head: Immigration and Border Protection 1 Immigration and Border Protection of Department of Homeland Security Donald Capak Keiser University Immigration and Border Protection 2 Abstract It is my belief that the dissolution of the former U.S. Immigration and Naturalization and Customs Service and the creation of separate agencies under the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) was sound political decision. Not only did this move reorganize three different organizations into one, but it also established a more unified system. This in turn helped communication and response to threats. With a single organization, instead of two or three, it helped keep the focus on the primary goal; there would be no more varying paths. It was basically unified under one leadership. Another reason that this was done was because the Customs and Border Protection was in need of a serious overhaul. Originally the Immigration and Naturalization Service received its roots after the American Civil war. Many states began passing their own laws regarding immigration, the federal government saw this as a problem and passed the Immigration Act of 1891, making immigration a federal manner.(2010, Immigration and Naturalization Service. In the early 1900 s immigration laws started becoming stricter to help protect U.S. citizens and their wages. Laws in 1921 and 1924 began limiting the amount of Immigrants entering the U.S. based on quotas. In 1940, President Roosevelt transferred the INS to the department of Justice where it would remain for the next forty three years. (2010, Immigration and Naturalization Service. Where some were very harsh to them, some like Mr. Lockwood (the initial master of the Wuthering Heights) was strict but still kinder. The tussle between Mr. Heathcliff (poor)and Mr. Lockwood s eldest son(rich) serves as a metaphor. It also brings to notice the ever ongoing tussle between the will of heart and the will of the society, specially in the case of women who are forced by the society and by the already laid norms to defy what they actually want and be satisfied with what their family or the society want. • 45. Marshmallow Experiment The marshmallow Experiment is a concept based on the famous saying patience is a virtue. In my opinion I can compare their choice of snack they chose to wait for to something I might really treasure or want at this point in my life. This experiment predicts that the children who decided they could wait longer to get two marshmallows instead of just one, are proven to be by far more successful in their futures. This study shows that people want instant gratification often. People tend to choose the fast route rather than being patient and waiting for something better. A great example of this statement to me is one of my past experiences. As a senior in high school the thing I saw most important was getting my first car. I soon got a job saved ... As you can guess my precious 2001 mustang broke down in a matter of months. I was carless and anxious to buy another car. Same rule applies for example when a tobacco addict isn t able to quit smoking. The main notion of this issue, In my opinion is a lack of self control. The children in the video and experiment are also pulling their hair and trying their hardest to fight the urge of going and grabbing the marshmallow or snack. This to me shows that the feeling had different types of emotions going on inside their heads for them to react the way they were. And this experiment to me isn t anything big, I mean if someone really wants something, they will do whatever is in their power to try and pursue that goal. • 46. Definitions And Historical View Of Gartner 1.3.1.3.1 IoT Definitions and Historical View Gartner (2015) forecasts that in 2020 almost 20 billion devices will be connected together and form the Internet of Things (IoT) of the future, which is a rise by fairly 2000% from 0.9 billion in 2009 (Gartner.com, 2015). The topic of IoT has hoarded much interest to the point that it has been classified as a disruptive technology (Downes, 2013, Feki et al., 2013). The concept of the Internet of Things is not new; it has been around since the early 90s. It has been envisioned in many forms yet all the different visions have one thing in common, the connectedness of devices (Donovan, 2014). Moreover, the Internet of Things, or as called by others, the Internet of Everything is a seen as a global network of devices and machines that have the ability to interact and communicate with each other (Kortuem et al., 2010, Lee and Lee, 2015). Seven years later, the International Telecommunication Community adapted the definition of IoT in the ITU T Y.2060 (06/2012) publication stating that the IoT is a global infrastructure for the information society that enables advanced services by interconnecting physical and virtual things on the foundation of current and developing information and communication technologies (ITU, 2015). In addition to how the IoT has been defined by the ITU, there have been many variations of the definition that revolve around the same centre but adapted to the view of the organisational entity that is looking at the IoT model. In Atzori, Iera and Morabito (2010), the authors gather and funnel the different IoT visions that had been proposed over the past years into three main groups. These groups are: (1) Things oriented, where the emphasis is on the objects and finding models to integrate them, (2) Internet oriented, where the focus is on different networking possibilities that would establish efficient connections between the objects, and (3) Semantic oriented, which by using semantic technologies the ... • 47. Catherine De Medici The Main Cause Of The Saint... Was Catherine de Medici the main cause of The Saint Bartholomew s Massacre? Catherine was an Italian woman who married a French King, Henry II. They had ten children of which three were boys: Francis II, Charles IX and Henry III would later rule as king. Catherine enjoyed her role as Queen and mother and had no involvement with the King s affairs. It wasn t until after the King s death that she made her presence known. There are a few reason s why The Saint Bartholomew s Day Massacre occurred. Could it have began with the Huguenots assuming the Spanish were planning to destroy them, and decided to attack first. Catherine may not have had any intention on starting the second war against the Huguenots but her being in the right place with the wrong person did. It was only because of Catherine s visit to her daughter Queen Elizabeth of Spain while in the presence of a catholic and military leader, Duke of Alba, did the Huguenots leaders think the Spanish were plotting an attack against them. The Huguenots attempted and failed to kidnap King Charles IX, which proved to be a bad decision that started the second war. This action caused Catherine, as Regent to Charles IX, to drop her policy of tolerating the Huguenots and siding with the Catholics. She issued an edict withdrawing all freedom of worship for Huguenots and ordered all Huguenot ministers to leave the country (History). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 48. Essay On Malicious Algorithms In [10], author proposed a scheme which identifies the malicious nodes by using aggregate signature algorithm. It associates three algorithms. (1) The proof creating algorithm: Whenever the nodes involved in a communication receive a message, they create a proof that is based on aggregate signature algorithm. (2) The checkup algorithm: This algorithm is called when the source node suspects that the transmitted packets are dropped. If the destination reports that it does not receive all transmitted packets, it will invoke this algorithm to detect the malicious node. (3) The diagnosis algorithm: works with the results of check up algorithm. Simulation is done in ns2 simulator. Using this proposed method, overhead is reduced and packet ... In route discovery process, an intermediate node will try to create a route and this route should not contain a node whose legitimacy ratio lesser the lower threshold level. [18] Proposed a black hole avoidance scheme. An enhancement is made in the AODV routing protocol to eliminate the black hole. The source first sends the route request and waits for responses from all neighboring nodes with which it gets a reliable route. According to this proposed scheme the source node should not send data packets immediately after receiving the first reply. Timer Expired Table is used to set timer after the reception of first reply. This table stores the sequence number of the packet. Collect Route Reply Table is used to store arrival time. Node s waiting time depends on the distance. Entries in the table help to identify malicious node. [19] presented a black hole detection scheme. In this method, when the source node receives RREP packets, it generates a new RREQ. RREQ has the highest sequence number and it is unicast through the route which the RREP packet was received. Malicious node generates a RREP with highest sequence number on receiving RREQ. Malicious node sends the fake RREP packet to the source node. Now source identifies the malicious node.
