Improvements of the Energy Efficiency for Cloud Computing Self Study

Introduction
Nowadays, with the development of technology, the demand for high speed computing for the
computers increases significantly. Cloud computing is the most emphasized Information and
Communications Technology (ICT) which can effectively implement high speed computing [1]. Most
common products that people used in their daily life such as cloud drive and Google search are based
on cloud computing, therefore it is necessary to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The high rotation speed will cause not only the dramatic increase of temperature but also the loud
noise. The low energy efficiency of HDDs is due to the heat loss which is caused by high temperature,
and the friction in mechanical content of discs and air. As for the SSD, the data will be stored in the
flash chip through the channel of transistors, so it does not require rotating [4]. It can save a massive
range of energy which HDDs will lose when HDDs are rotating. It is extremely energy efficient to use
SSDs in ICT equipment because the demand for writing or reading data is increasing dramatically.
The drawback is that the price of SSDs is much higher than that of HDDs, so the SSD is difficult to be
widely used until the price is reasonable. In addition, improving the energy efficiency of cooling
system is also effective [5]. To be specific, it is important to use right sizing cooling system, which can
automatically adjust the power of cooling system [5]. The temperature for ICT equipment is variable,
therefore the cooling system can increase the power while the temperature is high. On the contrary, the
cooling system can decrease the power while the temperature is low. To successfully implement right
sizing cooling system, the data center operators should take additional methods to measure the
temperature [5]. Thirdly, the energy efficiency of server processors is also helpful for reducing energy
consumption

How Far Do You Agree with the View That in the Years...
How far do you agree with the view that in the years 1933 39, Hitler was a weak dictator ?
Hitler has been categorised as a weak and a strong dictator by structuralist and intentionalist historians
respectively, intentionalist for the importance of Hitler, and structuralist for the importance of those
around him. Timothy Mason, a British Marxist historian, is an example of a structuralist historian,
believing that Hitler was heavily reliant on those around and supporting him. There is also Ian
Kershaw, who believed in the Working towards the Fuhrer ideology, where Hitler exploited the
attitudes of the German people in an attempt to have them work towards him. Timothy Mason, a
British Marxist historian was certainly believed that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This would mean that Hitler was not necessarily important in the running of everyday politics, such as
a normal dictator, but he would however let people interpret his policies how they wish. This would
not lead to a weak or strong dictator theory, but a society where everyone was working towards the
Fuhrer s will. Werner says how, ...everyone worth a post in the new Germany has worked best when
he has, so to speak, working towards the Fuhrer. This means that everyone in the country no matter
what Hitler did was working towards his will, as it is believed he is the only one who knew what
Germans truly wanted.
In conclusion, Hitler was seen to be a weak dictator, as he was very afraid from the real threat created
by losing his popularity, which would have turned the people against him, and whilst he had still not
consolidated power fully, particularly at the start of the period, he was always under the threat of being
thrown out of power again. Because of this, he had to curb some of his will and policies, and any
threat to his popularity was handed over to someone else, whose loss in popularity would not have
affected Hitler s personal

Romeo And Juliet Romantic Love Essay
American author and psychotherapist, Robert A. Johnson, once said, Romantic love, being the single
greatest energy system in the Western psyche, is a tremendous power that attracts. Romantic love is
compelling and influential, however it is not the only kind of love. Love comes in many different
forms each with their own special bond between the lovers. Some of these different types of love are
friendship, unrequited love, parental love, love of family honor, and romantic love. Many of these
distinct types of love are present in William Shakespeare s The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, a play
about two young lovers from feuding families who are destined for doom. In the play, Romeo
Montague and Juliet Capulet go against their families ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For instance, when Romeo drinks the poison to kill himself, he declares, Here s to my love [drinks] O
true apothecary./ Thy drugs are quick. Thus with a kiss I die. (V. iii. 119 120). Romeo s action of
killing himself implies that he would rather die than have to live his life being separated from his lover
Juliet. Romeo s romantic love for Juliet was so influential that it drove him to kill himself, which no
other kind of love had the power or impact to do. When Juliet awoke from her faked death and found
Romeo s body, she was devastated and reacted to the death of her love the same way Romeo did, by
killing herself. For example, after discovering Romeo s dead body, Juliet comes upon Romeo s dagger
and picks it up while stating, This is thy sheath; there rust and let me die. [She stabs herself and falls.]
(V. iii. 170). Juliet s action of killing herself is prominent in the story because it establishes the
strength of love. Juliet loved Romeo enough to commit suicide, which indicates that the romantic love
Juliet had for Romeo was more significant than Juliet s will to live. Romeo and Juliet s decision to kill
themselves reveals the dominance of romantic love over other types of

PLANNED CHANGE
1. Unfreeze This was so interesting to read about. The unfreeze phase took a lot of courage especially
since this was not a company in crisis. Although concerns were mentioned, nothing really stood out as
a motivating factor to induce fundamental change. So the consultant Bob Janson, helped to coagulate
the feeling of guilt through finding the Positive Dissatisfaction within the organization at AAL. I was
engrossed reading about the snapshot in time they created by performing structured interview through
a diagonal cross section of the company. Through the interviews, the gap between where the company
wanted to be and where it really was became clear. They used this as a tool to work on the employees
and get them on board with the planned organizational transformation. Through the process of change
at the corporate level, the inclination for restructuring at IPS grew. It was fully supported by the new
management team. IPS had several concerns around which to formulate the reason for change. They
set some broad parameters, which they then designed into a detailed plan. Communication became the
most important thing at this point, which they struggled with for a while, due to the sheer size of the
department in terms of head count. During this communication effort, the rationale for change, minor

History Of The 1968 Olympics In Mexico City
The 1968 Olympics in Mexico City black power salute was an act of protest by the African American
athletes, Tommie Smith and John Carlos during their medal ceremony. Tommie Smith and John Carlos
were both students at San Jose State University. What Smith and Carlos had done was one of the most
memorable moments in the American Civil Rights Movement. Carlos recalls, What was truly special
was not the statue, but how it came about. Students on campus organized a movement that made the
statue happen.
On October 2005, San Jose State University had unveiled a 22 foot statue in honor of the former
students, Tommie Smith and John Carlos. The statue showed Smith and Carlos frozen, fists aloft,
exactly as they had stood 40 years earlier on the Olympic Podium in Mexico City. The second place
podium (where Peter Norman would have stood) is blank because he had requested that his space was

Smith and Carlos wore gloves to represent black America, and they had removed their shoes and wore
black socks to symbolize the poverty that was going on in the black American community. Smith wore
a scarf and Carlos a bead necklace representing lynching. When the national anthem started playing,
Smith and Carlos had bowed their heads and raised their black gloved fists, which according to Smith
stood for the power in black America. Because they had courage and they were unafraid to express
and protest the poor treatment African American people in the states were going through, they had
suffered consequences. Millions of their fellow Americans were outraged which resulted them in
getting suspended from the U.S team. When they were getting off the podium they were booed by the
crowd, and Smith had said, If I win, I am American, not a black American. But if I did something bad,
then they would say I am a Negro. We are black and we are proud of being black. Black America will

Ember In The Ashes Sparknotes
Thank you to HarperCollins UK for providing me a copy of this book. An Ember in The Ashes is a
fantasy young adult book by Sabaa Tahir. It tells a story about Laia, a girl who lives in a place ruled by
the Martials. Laia is a Scholar and her people have been oppressed by the Empire for hundred years.
Meanwhile Elias is a young Martial man who trains as Empire s most deadly soldiers, the Mask. One
day, Laia s brother is taken away by the Empire and locked up in jail. Laia then tries to find a way to
save her brother by becoming a spy for a rebel group called the Resistance, on the Blackcliff academy.
Blackcliff academy is a school where they train Martials to become soldiers. On the other hand, Elias
was attempting to escape from turning into what he hates his whole life. But one surprising event
occurs that require him to stay at the academy and fight. Laia and Elias s lives cross path and they
might be the start of a revolution. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Empire is supposed to be based on Ancient Rome s society. They have clear separation on social
classes which determined on what race you are (Martials, Scholar, Tribal, etc.). Slavery and brutality
can be seen anywhere in the Empire. The Empire also has complex military structure that I had a hard
time at first to understand. There are just so many ranks with different functions and I m not good with
remembering those so it was a bit of a struggle for me. But once I figure those out, I wasn t bothered
by it at all. Although it is based on Ancient Rome, I always feel that the world is in somewhat Middle

Insanity In William Faulkner s A Rose For Emily
In William Faulkner s short story entitled A Rose For Emily the main character Emily s insanity was
not always present throughout the story as much as she rather snapped when all of the stresses and
pressures in her life grew to be too much. She dealt with the tragedy of her father passing with great
grief, even going to the extent that she refused to believe he was dead for three whole days. Emily was
raised by her father and they had a close relationship so it was understandable that she was distraught
at his passing, but their relationship was not necessarily healthy. Emily s father is indirectly
responsible for her insanity as ever since she was younger her father tried to control every aspect of
her life. She grew up always being able

Analyzing Themes In The Kidnap On Walnut Street
Before I began the fiction unit for this creative writing class, I did not think I would have an easy time
constructing flash fiction or short story pieces. Previously, I never had the opportunity to write
creative pieces for any of my English classes; therefore, the prospect of writing a full piece with a
beginning, middle, and end frightened me a little. However, I believe the work I presented in this unit
truly reflects my growth in understanding how to place words together to create thought provoking
themes about human relationships, trends that correspond to the themes, and writing processes that
utilize writing techniques. I think my growth occurred because of my interest in writing about human
relationships and experiences within flash fiction and short story pieces. ... Show more content on

When I wrote each piece, I did not realize I utilized this theme until each piece was completed.
Additionally, I recognized that other themes and metaphors developed in each piece as well. For
example, in the work Cards and the Displaced Way of Life , the cards symbolized the concept of loss
and constant searching within the homeless family s life. Similarly, the descriptions of Sheela in her
home in The Kidnapping on Walnut Street symbolized the themes of pain and suffering within the
piece. I believe I was successful in developing each of the themes because outside references gathered
from my observations influenced some of my writing. For example, in the work The Time Capsule for
Life s Last Moments , I used observations from my grandparents to influence how I wanted to write
the piece. Correspondingly, I used a real life investigation as an influence for The Kidnapping on
Walnut Street . I think the themes of my works supported each other and helped me realize and

Gibbs Model Of Gynaecology
Introduction
In this assignment, I will be reflecting on my performance as a senior gynaecology registrar on how I
supported the GP (general practice) junior doctors that started working in my department. I will
examine and reflect on my plan of action for their smooth adaptation in the unit and the development
of the gynaecological emergency skills.
I will be using Gibbs (1998) model of reflection. I chose this framework as I found it helpful for
structuring my reflection thoughts.
I will approach Amabile and Kramer s Progress Theory (Using Small Wins to Enhance Motivation),
who wrote in detail about how progress can boost performance in their 2011 book, The Progress
Principle using 6 steps:
1. Set clear goals and objectives.

Usa Today Case Summary
Background
USA Today is a national U.S. daily general interest newspaper, the first of its kind. Launched in 1982
by Allen Neuharth, head of the Gannett newspaper chain, it reached a circulation of one million within
a year and surpassed two million in the 1990s. Initially considered gimmicky and insubstantial, it
gradually developed a reputation for higher quality while increasing its circulation and advertising
revenues at a time when few papers were experiencing growth. The features that originally set it apart
are abundant colorful graphics, very brief stories, and a concentration on sports and celebrity, have
influenced other newspapers. To date, USA Today remains the widest circulated print newspaper in
the United States.

Economy woes
The advertising revenue of the company was adversely affected in 2008 because of the economic
recession. The companies faced a lot of losses because of high paper cost and reduced advertising
revenue. This resulted in the shutdown of a number of newspaper companies.
Recommendations
Content
Right now USA Today s content is geared mostly towards male readers. Female readers only make up
30% of their customer base. If USA Today were to give their content a facelift it could generate more
readers not necessarily just women though.
In the beginning USA Today prided themselves on being unique and having fun content in their paper
compared to their competitors. But now they re just trying to be another WSJ with their primary hard
news. USA Today needs to remember that their main demographic is different from WSJ s more
affluent and wealthy demographic. They need to get back to their roots.
Including Fashion and Entertainment sections in their paper could help them achieve the new image
that they need and help them get attention from younger generations and female readers. Yes their
loyal fan base is older but only changing their content a little will allow them to keep their loyal
customers and branch out to new ones with lighter more fun content.
Our generation today isn t always concerned with hard news, political news

young teens will go as they please. As for the origins issue, people need to stop believing everything

Restitution Self-Discipline And The Least Coercive Road
Within the classroom it is important to set a rapport with the students by acting professionally and

A Society On The Struggles Of Women Essay
Introduction This purpose of this paper is to educate the society on the struggles of women in the
scientific field and the unfair treatment when it comes to accomplishments and pay for these
hardworking individuals.
Back in time, men have always been superior to women almost in every way except for staying home,
keeping the place tidy, and taking care of children. When it came to education and work, men were
definitely the dominant sex in these areas. Today, women have showed their strength and perseverance
in education and career, but they still experience discrimination and pay gaps in the scientific field.
Why are there more men than women present in this career path? From a female who is in this field,
there is a clear pattern in the office area of the chemistry department here at Montclair State
University. There are currently fourteen males who teach the subject of chemistry compared to three
females. This paper will help to demonstrate the statistics and problems that are faced by women.
Another science, physics, also has very few women in its field and this is showed in Eileen Pollack s
The New York Times article Why Are There Still So Few Women in Science? when she mentions The
new study goes a long way toward providing hard evidence of a continuing bias against women in the
sciences. Only one fifth of physics Ph.D. s in this country are awarded to women,...; of all the physics
professors in the United States, only 14 percent are women (Pollack, 2013).

Intrinsic Value And Extrinsic Value Essay
In philosophy, things, properties, and acts contain values. They would fall into three categories of
value: intrinsic value, extrinsic value, and both intrinsic and extrinsic value. Things containing
intrinsic value means people value those things with intrinsic value for its own reason (Zimmerman).
In contrast, things containing extrinsic value means the value of these things are depending on other
things but not by itself. This is the basic difference between intrinsic value and extrinsic value. In
addition, knowledge is extrinsic valuable in general, but some kinds of knowledge can also be intrinsic
valuable. Also, Knowledge is more extrinsic valuable than a true belief because it provides a higher
possibility for an agent to succeed in pursuing his/her goals (Pritchard 13).
Intrinsic Value (Non Instrumental Value)
Intrinsic value has also been named as non instrumental value. The general understanding of non
instrumental value is that a thing is valuable for its own sake and its value is not related to other

someone. He says that suppose person A asks person B that whether helping people is good or not; B
will answer that helping others is good. Then, A keeps asking that why it is good; B might response
that it is just good by fulfilling others needs. After that, A can still ask B that why fulfilling others
needs is good. If B keep answering these questions by adding other

Youth And The Hip Hop Youth Culture
Australian Youth Culture
Introduction
Youth has various definitions. It can be considered as a state of mind, a life stage, or a stage of
development. Youth can also be considered as a creation of marketing and a demographic category.
Youth cultures as well as subcultures based on the theory or theories applied refer to cultures that in
most part comprise of young people as the members. Youth cultures are determined by ways of living
and they revolve around peer groups that stress a definitive style of living as an external designation of
affiliation and appearance. In this essay, I will analyse how globalisation, popular culture, and
consumerism emerge as factors that influence the participation of young people in the hip hop youth
culture in Australia. I will also apply the human ecological theory in order to facilitate the
understanding of factors that affect youth participation in the hip hop culture.
Culture is generally described as a way of life. It entails the meanings, values, practices, and beliefs
that are usually contrasted with structure, nature, and biology (Alim, 2006). As a concept, culture can
be divided into two. The first classification of culture is the expressive culture form which comprises
of argot, artifact, behaviour, and clothing that constitute the expression of a given youth culture (ibid).
The second classification of culture is the impressive form of culture content. This implies to the
culture meaning (ibid). In the same vein, youth

CBT For Insomnia
How effective is CBT for Insomnia? Sleep is a very important part of life that helps to keep us healthy,
alert, and functioning well. Unfortunately, many people suffer from insomnia which is the inability to
sleep. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a common form of psychotherapy in which which faulty
thoughts about the self and/or the world are challenged in order to alter unwanted behavior patterns
which has shown to be effective in treating several disorders/conditions. CBT I has shown to be
effective in treating insomniacs with comorbid conditions (Ashworth et al., 2015 Palermo et al., 2016)
and has even had effects on employees in the workplace (Barnes, Miller, Bostock., 2017). There is
also a possibility that CBT I could have an effect on physiological changes (Jarrin et al., 2016). ...

Ashworth et al. found that CBT I administered by a therapist significantly reduced the severity of
insomnia and depression symptoms. Although the sample size for this study was modest, the
feasibility of the results do not seem to be dependent upon this limitation. Palermo et al. found that
high levels of the usefulness of CBT I justify it s use for insomnia along with comorbid conditions in
adolescents. Although this article examined solely the feasibility of CBT I, this study provides a
foundation for further research regarding the use of CBT I for insomnia and comorbid conditions,

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Metal Matrix Composites
Metal matrix composites (MMCs) has better properties than unreinforced alloys. Among many
inexpensive MMCs, Al B4C can be obtained as a byproduct from solid wastes(Coal Combustion in
Thermal Power Plants. When the MMCs are heated to 1500 to 3000c, it shows better strength than

Working Out Hypothesis
**Title** We constructed a top down hypothesis that people exhibit an increase in their performance
level when working out in the presence of others as opposed to working out alone. To test our
hypothesis, we questioned 12 males and 12 females that are between the ages of 18 and 24, and are
frequent gym goers. We asked them whether or not they preferred to work out in front of other others,
or if they would rather work out alone, and why. We formatted this question in a standard text message
that we sent out to eight people each. In order to duplicate these findings, there are a few design
features that should be present. First, the individuals must attend a gym or workout class on a regular
basis (about 2 3 times per week). Also, on top of this, they must have ... Show more content on

The theory of sexual selection states that traits that help with mating success can be selected for, even
if they hurt chances of survival. High testosterone levels are not necessarily great for a man health
wise. However, the men with these high levels are the ones that are the highest performers in the gym.
The theory of intrasexual competition involves an individual out competing other individuals of the
same sex. This goes hand in hand with people increasing their performance level when wanting to
outperform others in the gym. By looking like the strongest man, you can attract more high quality
females. The same concept works in reverse for women. If they look like the most physically fit
female, more men will want them. Another theory in psychology that this relates to is the imaginary
audience theory. This theory involves an individual having an egotistic belief that people around them
are watching them and their every move. In order for an individual to feel the need to out perform
another, they must believe that others are watching

The Is Not Our Type
On Monday, September 14, my partner and I set out to find someone that was Not our Type . When I
first heard about the assignment I was extremely nervous for what would lie ahead. I m not a very
talkative person and hardly ever just have random conversations with people that I don t know. I knew
that this assignment would certainly get me out of my comfort zone, and cause me to really branch
out. A huge part of talking to others about Christ is to just start up a simple conversation to work off
of. It can become even more difficult when someone has a different background or separate moral
values. I was by no means looking forward to the awkwardness that would possibly lie ahead, we
decided that the best place to start would be Walmart since people are there 24/7. We walked in at
around 9 p.m. and started our search. After about 20 minutes we finally decided to make our move on
someone. We walked up to a young man that looked to be in high school and began our conversation.
We started off by just introducing ourselves and telling him that we were working on an assignment
and just wanted to get to know him a little bit better. The conversation actually flowed really well and
we had a lot in common like our love for sports and technology. His name is Dilan Patel and he s a
junior at Siloam High. You can probably tell by the last name that Dilan is Indian. I knew going into
the conversation that he would be very different from us morally, ethnically, and even physically.

Essay about Barbie as a Real Woman is Anatomically...
Millions of girls around the world are dressing their Barbie dolls in skimpy designer outfits and high
heel shoes, and slide her slender legs into a bright pink convertible next to her male counterpart, Ken.
These same girls will gaze into the mirror, staring at their thighs and hair, and attempt to balance
themselves in a pair of their mother s high heel shoes. They will wonder why they do not look like
Barbie. They will wonder today, just as I wondered years ago. As the years of make believe with the
American plastic icon of girlhood nostalgia passed, I discovered Barbie s hidden effects. Although
Barbie lent herself to fond memories of childhood, she also influenced my early ideal image of the
female body. As I began to realize ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Over the years, the hair and outfit changed, but the body has remained the same, an ample chest, long
legs, and lean arms and neck. Her firm, plastic body did not compare with my short legs and chunky
arms. What do an anorexic woman and a Barbie doll have in common? They are the same size. If
Barbie was a real woman, out in the real world, she would not be standing, but actually be on all fours.
Her feet would be too small to hold up her abundant upper half. She would tower at 7 2 and weigh 101
pounds. This skyscraper of a woman would not be able to bear children and only have enough room
for a few inches of intestines. I, on the other hand, am blessed to have twenty five feet of intestines
and the room to hold them. Barbie is a girl s introduction to the ideal image of the female body. As she
matures, she picks up an issue of Glamour or Allure, Elle or Fitness, in an attempt to educate her on
how to fight off every bulge and run off the weight to keep her man. I know these women, these girls,
as I am and was one of them. If only Matell could create a doll after Sandro Botticelli s painting of the
ideal woman in his masterpiece, Birth of Venus. If she were the ideal image of the female body, it
would be much more realistic. If Venus were a real woman, she would be 5 4 and 140 pounds. Unlike
Barbie, she would have plenty of room for

The Comedic Value of the Play, Pseudolus
Each of the characters of Pseudolus has comic potential. According to Bergson s theory of laughter,
The ingredients of comic character are rigidity, automatism, absentmindedness, and unsociability. (
1956:156) All of these are apparent early in the play with the entrance of each of the characters.
Pseudolus is the essence of the clownish buffoon, with his bulging stomach and overly large feet, yet
he is also much wittier than Calidorus. The comic influence is attributed to Pseudolus who can
manipulate those around him, as a practiced trickster using his cleverness, nonchalantly dominating
the leaders. He does not use his intelligence and abilities to favor himself, all that he does, he does for
the benefit of others, although often the plans he introduces profit himself at the same time. Calidorus
is the pretty rich boy that has no thought other than what he desires next. His only concern is freeing
his love. He is rich, but has no power. Calidorus is pleasant and his moaning adds a lot of comedy to
the play, but he is not a dominant character, never a driving force behind the action. His vanity is the
essence of Bergson s mechanized comic character, who is usually comic in proportion to his ignorance
of his own faults. (Bergson 1956:171 173,71) Simo, Callipho, and Ballio each are extremely satirical
and are seen as caricatures of common stereotypes; the wealthy powerful misers, the powerful
distasteful pimp. The powerful may be rich, but those that are rich are

Fourth Grade Social Studies Standards
Fourth grade Social Studies Standards Educational standards are set in place to give teachers a guide
as to what students should be taught and helped to learn and understand. Standards have been
developed for each state so that students across the United States of America can be close to the same
goals and somewhat on the same level as to the type of information that is supposed to be presented to
students. Social Studies does not seem to be big on the list of things to teach because such strong
emphasis has been placed on Math and reading because of state mandated testing that occurs several
times throughout the year. It is mandatory that Social Studies be included into the educational
curriculum but the time placed on the actual subject is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Classes could hold mock voting stations to help students get a better understanding of the type of
things that take place in the real world when it comes time to placing certain people in office from our
local communities, all the way to the White House in voting for the president of the United States.
Social Studies does not have to be a boring subject like I remember. It can be exciting and memorable
but you have to make sure you know the information you are about to present so that the students can
pick up on the excitement and run with it. Presentation is very important and with the standards listed,
there is room for excitement because the standards are thorough, clear, adaptable and flexible so that
the teacher can add to their prepared lessons to get their points of interest across. Social Studies help
us understand how we are connected and relate to people in our environment. It helps students use
critical thinking skills that will help them understand their relationship with the world around them.
The standards for Arizona covers the places and regions, human and physical systems, environment
and society*. All of these work together to help students understand the different things that they must
know about to help them become better citizens to their local states and cities as well as better citizens

Essay about The Role of Violence and Television
Television and Violence
One of the increasing problems in today`s society is the violence caused by watching too much
television. In 1950`s only 10% of American households had television, but today that number reached
higher levels and 99% of households own one or more. Television is most of the time amusement and
entertainment for many young people, especially children. Television itself has an impact on everyone.
Some researches show that television has good sides and that can be entertaining and educational at
the same time, where children learn more about cultures, places, and they use their knowledge when
it`s necessary. Yet we need to remember that only certain programs are carrying positive messages
which affect children ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, some see television as an unhealthy imposition into a child s learning process, substituting
easy pictures for the discipline of reading and concentrating and transforming the young viewer into a
hypnotized non thinker (Langone 48). Children while growing up and spending 4 5 hours in front of
television everyday will imitate aggressive acts shown on TV. The only solution to this is to prevent it
at the beginning. Parents can certainly control how much television their children will have on daily
basis. Television should not be in every room of the house, especially children`s room, where they
have the opportunity to watch shows while parents are busy doing other stuff. Those violent acts
certainly can be reduced by control which starts at the beginning instead of waiting until everyone is
helpless to improve the situation.
Perhaps one of the crucial problems is the possibility of developing the lack of social skills. Children,
while spending time at home in front of television tend to develop anti social skills, which will affect
their future and their entire life. Watching television shows, in most cases replaces activities that
children should be doing at their age. Instead of reading, learning, playing with their friends, doing
chores, having a physical activity, they sit at home. This way of antisocial activity affects family too,
because

Salary Caps In Professional Sports
Salary caps are a very important tool used in professional sports. All 4 major professional sports
leagues in the United States have a salary cap installed into their collective bargaining agreement
between the league and its players. Those four major sports are, the NFL, the NBA, the MLB and the
NHL. A salary cap is defined as s an agreement or rule that places a limit on the amount of money that
a team can spend on players salaries. It can be as a per player limit or a total limit for the team s roster.
It is basically put in place to help the small market teams stay competitive. It is meant so the wealthy

Prostate Cancer Synthesis
Abstract: Prostate cancer is the leading mortality cancer amongst males. This cancer is due to the
signaling increase of androgen and androgen receptors, which is a gene that associates with the risk of
prostate cancer. Over expression of androgen receptors occurs in androgen independent cancer.
Prostate tumors advance to androgen independent state where they progress in the absence of
circulating testosterone. Typically, treatments for prostate cancer are surgery and radiation. Most
effective treatments in the early stage of prostate cancer includes suppression of AR function either by
blocking androgen signaling with anti androgen bicalutanmide (Casodex) or flutamide or by inhibiting
the conversion of testosterone to the potent androgen ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although PA is most abundant, EA has been shown in other studies to exhibit anticarcinogenic
properties such as induction of cell cycle arrest and apoptosis as well as the inhabitation of tumor
formation and growth particularly in animals. Studies show that consumption of phytochemical rich
diet reduces the risk of prostate cancer. With that being said, in this study there were several
experiments done to show the correlation of how pomegranate in the form of POMx, PJ, PA and EA
will help reduce the risk of getting prostate cancer by reducing the signaling of AR. Although studies
have yet to find the mechanism of gene down regulation there have been several studies that show that
the LNaCP AR cell line is overexpressed which leads to prostate cancer. In this study the cells lines
LNCaP and LNcAP AR cell lines are closely examined. The main aim of this study is to show how
pomegranate and its polyphenols can reduce the androgen receptors that are overexpressed to decrease
the risk of prostate cancer and the tumor size of prostate cancer.

Coast Guard Case Study
1. According to the Coast Guard Chief of Casualty Matters, there are inaccuracies on seventy five
percent of all required annual verification forms received from the field following a personnel
casualty. The magnitude of the information contained within these forms is not being properly relayed
to our members. To become proficient in collecting required documentation, the Coast Guard needs to
eliminate inaccuracies on the Designation of Beneficiaries and Record of Emergency Data Form (CG
2020D) (ref (c)), Service Members Group Life Insurance Election and Certificate Form (SGLV 8286)

Guard must mandate that all annual verifications be electronically ... Show more content on

In order to ensure the compliance and all annual verifications are completed accurately, the Coast
Guard must create a self service function located within Direct Access that would generate each form
electronically. Each member would be responsible to update their required data information during the
annually required period (ref (b)), through a self service function within Direct Access. However, the
self service function would give the member the ability to change the forms following a life event
when needed and not just during the required period. Once the member completes the data entry
requirements within each section, the system would automatically apply an official signature,
including a time and date stamp (ref (f)). Adding the electronic signature process would ensure that the
forms were not altered and were generated by the member. Currently, these forms are filled out by
hand and are maintained in the SPO PDR (ref (g)). Far too many times these forms are being
reproduced erroneously resulting in numerous forms stored between multiple PDRs creating confusion
of validity and benefit elections. By implementing an electronic validation system, following the
member s digital signature, the forms would automatically be assigned to the SPO work list for
review, verification and electronic signature from the SPO technician. Upon verification and approval,
Direct Access would automatically generate a deduction from the members pay account corresponding
with the coverage elected on the SGLV 8286 and SGLV 8286A forms. Establishing this function
would eliminate hundreds of wasted work hours annually for both the members and SPO technicians.
Each document would then be uploaded in the member s Electronically Imaged PDR for easy
availability for the Decedent Affairs Officer (DAO) following a personnel casualty. Additionally, each
electronic validation would be tracked through CGBI for command visibility. Creating this process
would catapult the Coast Guard out of

Statutory Rape Laws
There are debates on whether or not the laws for statutory rape are strict enough. The age of
consensual sex varies from state to state. In some states the age of consent is 16 while others start at
the age of 17. Though many of these teens may be physically ready to engage in sex, many of them
are not mentally prepared. In their article, Enforce Statutory Rape Laws to Curb Teen Sex , Kathleen
Sylvester and Jonathan O Connell talk about relationships between 12, 13 and 14 year old girls and

Normally I m an outgoing type of person, but every time I make friends, they seem to go away. Either

  • 2. Improvements Of The Energy Efficiency For Cloud Computing University of Waterloo Faculty of Engineering Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering Improvements of the Energy Efficiency for Cloud Computing Self Study Yuhan Wu Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering University of Waterloo Waterloo, Ontario, Canada Introduction Nowadays, with the development of technology, the demand for high speed computing for the computers increases significantly. Cloud computing is the most emphasized Information and Communications Technology (ICT) which can effectively implement high speed computing [1]. Most common products that people used in their daily life such as cloud drive and Google search are based on cloud computing, therefore it is necessary to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The high rotation speed will cause not only the dramatic increase of temperature but also the loud noise. The low energy efficiency of HDDs is due to the heat loss which is caused by high temperature, and the friction in mechanical content of discs and air. As for the SSD, the data will be stored in the flash chip through the channel of transistors, so it does not require rotating [4]. It can save a massive range of energy which HDDs will lose when HDDs are rotating. It is extremely energy efficient to use SSDs in ICT equipment because the demand for writing or reading data is increasing dramatically. The drawback is that the price of SSDs is much higher than that of HDDs, so the SSD is difficult to be widely used until the price is reasonable. In addition, improving the energy efficiency of cooling system is also effective [5]. To be specific, it is important to use right sizing cooling system, which can automatically adjust the power of cooling system [5]. The temperature for ICT equipment is variable, therefore the cooling system can increase the power while the temperature is high. On the contrary, the cooling system can decrease the power while the temperature is low. To successfully implement right sizing cooling system, the data center operators should take additional methods to measure the temperature [5]. Thirdly, the energy efficiency of server processors is also helpful for reducing energy consumption ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. How Far Do You Agree with the View That in the Years... How far do you agree with the view that in the years 1933 39, Hitler was a weak dictator ? Hitler has been categorised as a weak and a strong dictator by structuralist and intentionalist historians respectively, intentionalist for the importance of Hitler, and structuralist for the importance of those around him. Timothy Mason, a British Marxist historian, is an example of a structuralist historian, believing that Hitler was heavily reliant on those around and supporting him. There is also Ian Kershaw, who believed in the Working towards the Fuhrer ideology, where Hitler exploited the attitudes of the German people in an attempt to have them work towards him. Timothy Mason, a British Marxist historian was certainly believed that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This would mean that Hitler was not necessarily important in the running of everyday politics, such as a normal dictator, but he would however let people interpret his policies how they wish. This would not lead to a weak or strong dictator theory, but a society where everyone was working towards the Fuhrer s will. Werner says how, ...everyone worth a post in the new Germany has worked best when he has, so to speak, working towards the Fuhrer. This means that everyone in the country no matter what Hitler did was working towards his will, as it is believed he is the only one who knew what Germans truly wanted. In conclusion, Hitler was seen to be a weak dictator, as he was very afraid from the real threat created by losing his popularity, which would have turned the people against him, and whilst he had still not consolidated power fully, particularly at the start of the period, he was always under the threat of being thrown out of power again. Because of this, he had to curb some of his will and policies, and any threat to his popularity was handed over to someone else, whose loss in popularity would not have affected Hitler s personal ... • 4. Romeo And Juliet Romantic Love Essay American author and psychotherapist, Robert A. Johnson, once said, Romantic love, being the single greatest energy system in the Western psyche, is a tremendous power that attracts. Romantic love is compelling and influential, however it is not the only kind of love. Love comes in many different forms each with their own special bond between the lovers. Some of these different types of love are friendship, unrequited love, parental love, love of family honor, and romantic love. Many of these distinct types of love are present in William Shakespeare s The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, a play about two young lovers from feuding families who are destined for doom. In the play, Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet go against their families ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For instance, when Romeo drinks the poison to kill himself, he declares, Here s to my love [drinks] O true apothecary./ Thy drugs are quick. Thus with a kiss I die. (V. iii. 119 120). Romeo s action of killing himself implies that he would rather die than have to live his life being separated from his lover Juliet. Romeo s romantic love for Juliet was so influential that it drove him to kill himself, which no other kind of love had the power or impact to do. When Juliet awoke from her faked death and found Romeo s body, she was devastated and reacted to the death of her love the same way Romeo did, by killing herself. For example, after discovering Romeo s dead body, Juliet comes upon Romeo s dagger and picks it up while stating, This is thy sheath; there rust and let me die. [She stabs herself and falls.] (V. iii. 170). Juliet s action of killing herself is prominent in the story because it establishes the strength of love. Juliet loved Romeo enough to commit suicide, which indicates that the romantic love Juliet had for Romeo was more significant than Juliet s will to live. Romeo and Juliet s decision to kill themselves reveals the dominance of romantic love over other types of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Although concerns were mentioned, nothing really stood out as a motivating factor to induce fundamental change. So the consultant Bob Janson, helped to coagulate the feeling of guilt through finding the Positive Dissatisfaction within the organization at AAL. I was engrossed reading about the snapshot in time they created by performing structured interview through a diagonal cross section of the company. Through the interviews, the gap between where the company wanted to be and where it really was became clear. They used this as a tool to work on the employees and get them on board with the planned organizational transformation. Through the process of change at the corporate level, the inclination for restructuring at IPS grew. It was fully supported by the new management team. IPS had several concerns around which to formulate the reason for change. They set some broad parameters, which they then designed into a detailed plan. Communication became the most important thing at this point, which they struggled with for a while, due to the sheer size of the department in terms of head count. History Of The 1968 Olympics In Mexico City The 1968 Olympics in Mexico City black power salute was an act of protest by the African American athletes, Tommie Smith and John Carlos during their medal ceremony. Tommie Smith and John Carlos were both students at San Jose State University. What Smith and Carlos had done was one of the most memorable moments in the American Civil Rights Movement. Carlos recalls, What was truly special was not the statue, but how it came about. Students on campus organized a movement that made the statue happen. On October 2005, San Jose State University had unveiled a 22 foot statue in honor of the former students, Tommie Smith and John Carlos. • 9. Analyzing Themes In The Kidnap On Walnut Street Before I began the fiction unit for this creative writing class, I did not think I would have an easy time constructing flash fiction or short story pieces. Previously, I never had the opportunity to write creative pieces for any of my English classes; therefore, the prospect of writing a full piece with a beginning, middle, and end frightened me a little. However, I believe the work I presented in this unit truly reflects my growth in understanding how to place words together to create thought provoking themes about human relationships, trends that correspond to the themes, and writing processes that utilize writing techniques. I think my growth occurred because of my interest in writing about human relationships and experiences within flash fiction and short story pieces. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When I wrote each piece, I did not realize I utilized this theme until each piece was completed. Additionally, I recognized that other themes and metaphors developed in each piece as well. Similarly, the descriptions of Sheela in her home in The Kidnapping on Walnut Street symbolized the themes of pain and suffering within the piece. I believe I was successful in developing each of the themes because outside references gathered from my observations influenced some of my writing. For example, in the work The Time Capsule for Life s Last Moments , I used observations from my grandparents to influence how I wanted to write the piece. Correspondingly, I used a real life investigation as an influence for The Kidnapping on Walnut Street . I think the themes of my works supported each other and helped me realize and understand my ... I chose this framework as I found it helpful for structuring my reflection thoughts. If USA Today were to give their content a facelift it could generate more readers not necessarily just women though. In the beginning USA Today prided themselves on being unique and having fun content in their paper compared to their competitors. But now they re just trying to be another WSJ with their primary hard news. USA Today needs to remember that their main demographic is different from WSJ s more affluent and wealthy demographic. • 18. A Society On The Struggles Of Women Essay Introduction This purpose of this paper is to educate the society on the struggles of women in the scientific field and the unfair treatment when it comes to accomplishments and pay for these hardworking individuals. Back in time, men have always been superior to women almost in every way except for staying home, keeping the place tidy, and taking care of children. When it came to education and work, men were definitely the dominant sex in these areas. Today, women have showed their strength and perseverance in education and career, but they still experience discrimination and pay gaps in the scientific field. Why are there more men than women present in this career path? From a female who is in this field, there is a clear pattern in the office area of the chemistry department here at Montclair State University. There are currently fourteen males who teach the subject of chemistry compared to three females. This paper will help to demonstrate the statistics and problems that are faced by women. Another science, physics, also has very few women in its field and this is showed in Eileen Pollack s The New York Times article Why Are There Still So Few Women in Science? when she mentions The new study goes a long way toward providing hard evidence of a continuing bias against women in the sciences. • 19. Intrinsic Value And Extrinsic Value Essay In philosophy, things, properties, and acts contain values. They would fall into three categories of value: intrinsic value, extrinsic value, and both intrinsic and extrinsic value. Things containing intrinsic value means people value those things with intrinsic value for its own reason (Zimmerman). In contrast, things containing extrinsic value means the value of these things are depending on other things but not by itself. This is the basic difference between intrinsic value and extrinsic value. In addition, knowledge is extrinsic valuable in general, but some kinds of knowledge can also be intrinsic valuable. Also, Knowledge is more extrinsic valuable than a true belief because it provides a higher possibility for an agent to succeed in pursuing his/her goals (Pritchard 13). Intrinsic Value (Non Instrumental Value) Intrinsic value has also been named as non instrumental value. The general understanding of non instrumental value is that a thing is valuable for its own sake and its value is not related to other things. Zimmerman explains the intrinsic value by using the example of the conversation with someone. He says that suppose person A asks person B that whether helping people is good or not; B will answer that helping others is good. Then, A keeps asking that why it is good; B might response that it is just good by fulfilling others needs. After that, A can still ask B that why fulfilling others needs is good. Youth cultures as well as subcultures based on the theory or theories applied refer to cultures that in most part comprise of young people as the members. Youth cultures are determined by ways of living and they revolve around peer groups that stress a definitive style of living as an external designation of affiliation and appearance. I will also apply the human ecological theory in order to facilitate the understanding of factors that affect youth participation in the hip hop culture. Culture is generally described as a way of life. It entails the meanings, values, practices, and beliefs that are usually contrasted with structure, nature, and biology (Alim, 2006). As a concept, culture can be divided into two. The first classification of culture is the expressive culture form which comprises of argot, artifact, behaviour, and clothing that constitute the expression of a given youth culture (ibid). We asked them whether or not they preferred to work out in front of other others, or if they would rather work out alone, and why. According to Bergson s theory of laughter, The ingredients of comic character are rigidity, automatism, absentmindedness, and unsociability. Pseudolus is the essence of the clownish buffoon, with his bulging stomach and overly large feet, yet he is also much wittier than Calidorus. The comic influence is attributed to Pseudolus who can manipulate those around him, as a practiced trickster using his cleverness, nonchalantly dominating the leaders. Children while growing up and spending 4 5 hours in front of television everyday will imitate aggressive acts shown on TV. The only solution to this is to prevent it at the beginning. Parents can certainly control how much television their children will have on daily basis. Television should not be in every room of the house, especially children`s room, where they have the opportunity to watch shows while parents are busy doing other stuff. Those violent acts certainly can be reduced by control which starts at the beginning instead of waiting until everyone is helpless to improve the situation.
