The Automobile Industry Of Japan s Manufacturing...
Taichii Ohno (1912 1990) is best known not as a guru but a symbol of Japan s manufacturing
resurgence after World War II (Guide to Management Ideas and Gurus. 2008). Ohno worked in
Toyota, a Japanese car company as a production engineer. At the end of second world war, when
Toyota s productivity was way below that of its competitors, the president of Toyota Motor Company
highlighted that they must catch up with America within three years. Otherwise, the automobile
industry of Japan will not survive. Ohno and his associates then came to America to study about the
manufacturing process and after that invented Just in Time manufacturing management method. The
principle of Just in Time (JIT) is to produce and/or deliver the right quantity of products, of the right
quality, within the right time and at the right place in order to increase productivity, efficiency and to
decrease costs and wastes associated with overproduction. According to International Journal of
Economics, Business and Finance (2013), JIT consists of two main elements which must be integrated
together to function in harmony including human resources, planning based on the elimination of
wastes. The first key to JIT success is human involvement which includes stockholders, owners of the
company, labor organization, suppliers and Government support. JIT creates the idea of involving all
workers at different levels of the organization. This can be achieved by motivation, communication,
encouragement to

How The Film Industry Has A Huge Budget For The City Over...
PART 2 CIRCULAR ECONOMY
Nowadays people know the price of everything and the value of nothing Oscar Wilde, 1890
Again, my concern started with a personal experience. In 2014, I was working as an Experience
Designer for Universal Pictures NBC International Ltd. .
The film industry has a huge budget to spend on the building of visual artefacts. However, I was quite
shocked by the squandering of resources I witnessed. There was no care or awareness of sustainability.
Also, I expected designers and production to work much more closely together, which would have
prevented much waste in the first place. Yet, the film industry being as hierarchical as it is, production
never got back to me.
According to the London Data store,
London is already the third busiest city in filmmaking in the world, behind LA and New York. This
booming industry has brought £770m of investment to the city over the last four years.
8. London Datastore greater London authority (2015), [accessed 6 May 2016].
I have always been fascinated by transforming materials into something magical. Yet most of the time
my task was to transform the very cheapest materials into a luxuriously looking illusion.
Obviously as a designer one aims to make the best of available resources in the most efficient way.
But ever working quicker and faster and thus taking a toll on quality, made me feel uncomfortable. I
felt trapped in a Kleenex society (source?) a disposable product which we buy, use and throw

If We Were Birds
To this day, I can discretely remember watching an episode of war in an historical Indian drama where
the men were out fighting a war, while women left in the city gathered in preparation for Jauhar.
Innocently, I asked my mom what the women were doing. They are preparing for the possibility that
their army might lose the battle. I didn t understand her answer at the time, in fact it slipped my mind
until I started reading If We Were Birds. Researching the usage of rape as a tactic of war and reading
the two works have enhanced my understanding such that I am now able to infer, very accurately, the
meaning behind my mom s incomplete explanation. Like Philomela, I can remember a time when I
wasn t afraid of the dark and was blissfully unaware ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The simplest way in my opinion is by making yourself knowledgeable in the area. Researching
testimonials and historical evidence has helped me partially bear witness to this dilemma, yet it puts
me in a predicament because I know all of these things, yet I can t take any preventative measures.
With my present power, I don t think I can help increase awareness on the local, let alone global level.
It makes me feel powerless, like how the women must have felt. However, I will continue to bear
witness by learning about the horrible events that women experienced and continue to experience
today, for that is all I can do presently. I strongly feel that if those women had the courage to speak out
against the violence despite knowing about the repercussions they would have to face, I have no
excuse for not speaking out. In the future sometime, I would like to join an organization devoted to
raising awareness about this dehumanizing tactic, so that I will be able to make use to this knowledge
that I have gained and will continue to gain and free myself from the agony that despite knowing, I
continued to remain

The Field Of Marshal Erwin Rommel
Field Marshal Erwin Rommel was the only German, Italian, Japanese commander in WW2 to be both,
idolized by his men and immensely admired by his enemies. Winston Churchill the British prime
mister in WWII described him as a great general whose ardor and daring inflicted great disasters upon
us . When he was in charge of the Afrika Korps the opposing commander had to reassure his men that
Rommel was not a magician or superhuman. Rommel was implicated in a plot to murder Hitler nd
committed suicide. Rommel was born in Hedienham located in the Kingdom of Wurttemberg,
Germany on November 15, 1891 the son of a Bavarian schoolteacher. In 1910 Rommel joined the
local 124 Wurrtenburg Infantry Regiment as an ensign. Soon after he enrolled in Officer School ,
graduating 2 years later as an lieutenant. When war was declared Rommel returned to his old
regiment. During World War I he fought in Romania and France successfully employing the tactics of
infiltrating through enemy lines under cover of darkness moving forward rapidly to a flanking position
to arrive at the rear, to achieve the element of surprise. Because of Rommel s successes he was
rewarded the second most prestigious German military awarded the Iron Cross second class. In 1916
Rommel was granted a brief leave for his Marriage to Lucia Mollin. However, Rommel s biggest
successes would come in the Italian Alps in the Battel of Carpetto in which Rommel and 150 men
captured 9,000 men at the cost of 6 dead and 30

Misinterpreting Of The Book The Bible Is Everything
1. If you carefully consider the surrounding context of a passage, but ignore its literary genre, it could
result in significant consequences, such as, committing damage to the original meaning of the text. It
is important to take the text into consideration because it gives relevance to the meaning. Duvall and
Hays explains in their book how the Bible is everything . Therefore, without understanding the
context, there is no meaning because each story/literature in the Bible has its own specific rules that
we all need to understand. Without understanding the exact meanings, we risk misinterpreting the
word and spreading false scripture.

Explain Two Ways To Cut The Cost Of A Dental Crown
Finding out that you need a dental crown can often be a rather deflating and discouraging experience
because of the cost that is often associated with that procedure. Here are two ways to cut the cost of
your dental crown.
Use A Discount Plan Membership Whenever Possible
An effective way to cut the cost of your dental crown is to use a discount plan membership whenever
possible. In most cases, a discount plan membership that applies to dental work is typically quite
inexpensive with you being able to get one for a rather low annual fee. Once you have the discount
plan membership, you can get discounts that are substantial for most types of dental work, which is
quite useful if you are one of the many people who does not actually have dental

The Declaration Of Independence And The United States...
The Declaration of Independence was a new beginning for the thirteen colonies, formerly a part of the
British empire. This document brought about a new understanding of how the country would be run.
The Articles of Confederation were adopted November 15, 1777 and remained the sole form of
government until it was replaced by the current United States Constitution in 1788 for its lack of
efficiency in running the country. Federalists and Anti Federalists argued endlessly over the pros and
cons of the two documents. The questions that arise are is the Constitution a radical change from the
Articles or was it not so distinct? As well as, do both documents embody the Declaration or does one
document do more so? The United States Constitution, which holds truer to the principles in the
Declaration of Independence, is a radical change from the Articles of Confederation. The Constitution
was a distinct change from the Articles, but similarities between the two do exist. Both documents
were established by the same people. The Continental Congress resided over the writing of both. Both
documents refer to the country as The United States of America. The Articles of Confederation state in
Article I, The stile of this confederacy shall be The United States of America (Continental 155). As
well the Preamble of the Constitution addresses citizens as ...People of the United States (Philadelphia
171). Both documents were considered the official government of the United States, and

long the story would be? They had no choice but to listen. And now the storm blast came, and he was
tyrannous and strong: He struck with his o ertaking wings, and chased us south along , soon the storm
strikes the ship; the storm is described as Tyrannous and strong characterizing the harsh, cruel and

And now there came both mist and snow and it grew wondrous cold: And ice, mast high, came

Relationship Between Child Development And Early Child Care
Abstract
Over the past several years, researches have study the relationship between child development, early
child care, and the importance of early children s experiences. Although researchers have found that
most children in day care don t suffer from the experience, recent research suggest that child care
hours is related with externalized behaviors. Child care has demonstrated to be a predictor in a child s
academic success later in life. High quality child care predicts higher vocabulary scores and advanced
cognitive outcomes, but also exposure to child care centers reported externalizing problems such a
behavioral problems and conflicts. However, another research indicates that children exposed to non
maternal child care become identical from their peers with little or no history of non maternal care
from a social emotional perspective. In addition, a research shows that low quality care is related to
poor performance; however, the amount of time children spend in non maternal care outside the home
does not appear to be related to child development. Even though child care does not appear to be
related with child development, researchers discuss the potential positive and negative long term
effects in their behavior later in life in the following areas: academically, emotionally, and socially.
Long Term Effects of Child Care
The 20th century marks a period in which families increasingly relied on child care as more mothers
of children work outside the home.

Once these patients are released from the unit they are at a higher risk for repeated attempts or

patients in the study the researchers gave them several self reporting tools to fill out. Some of these
tools included the RFLI, CDRISC,

Health Journey Research Paper
One of the hardest parts of taking on a new health journey can be sticking to it. Sometimes you don t
see or feel the results straight away or there can be symptoms that have you feeling worse before you
feel better and unfortunately sometimes a busy lifestyle can just get in the way. There is a long list of
reasons that can see you becoming discouraged or forgetting why you where taking on the health
journey in the first place.
When things do become difficult and you begin to feel disheartened what really helps is a support
system, a group of people who are going to pick you up when you re feeling down and encourage you
to keep going. A lot of the time we look for these types of people in close friends or maybe even work
colleagues and forget to include the people who love us the most... Our Family.

There are great resources available to help kids learn to meditate, and the benefits both physically and
mentally and fantastic for little growing bodies. Spend 5 10 minutes with them before bed listening to
some soft music and teaching them some simple breathing techniques are fantastic ways to help you
all unwind.
The most important thing to remember is to find what works for your family. Every family is different
and sometimes it takes a few tries to break bad habits and welcome new positive ones. The first time
you introduce meditation might have your kids jumping from the bunk beds after 45 seconds or if your
husband is anything like mine... freaking out when you present him with his first green smoothie,
maybe your wife isn t super keen on the idea of drinking bone broth? That s all ok because it s about
making it work for you and your family.

The Development to The United States Constitution Essay
Why did the Americans select the constitutional order they did in 1787 1789, and why did they reject a
more democratic and confederal form not more than a decade old? In 1787, twenty nine delegates
convened in Philadelphia to tweak the Articles of Confederation. Some delegates, however, arrived
with the intention of creating a completely new constitution. James Madison proposed the Virginia
Plan, a plan which advocated a balanced, three branch method of government with a bicameral, or two
house, Congress. In contrast, William Paterson submitted the New Jersey Plan which merely amended
the Articles by giving the federal government more power. Ultimately, the Articles were abolished, the
Virginia Plan was chosen, and the Constitution was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The nation fell into a recession after the Revolutionary War and the disastrous financial situation
allowed by the Articles only made matters worse. The problems with the Articles became undeniable
in 1786 when Daniel Shay, a Massachusetts farmer and retired captain in the Continental Army, led
his fellow farmers in resistance against farm foreclosures. He led armed bands of these men against
the courts of western Massachusetts in an effort to force a closure of the court system (Text, 110). The
rebellion was defeated by January of the following year but it was clear that change was needed. By
the time that Shay s Rebellion occurred, the Nationalists ad been trying to amend the Articles of
Confederation for several years. Unfortunately, doing so required a unanimous vote among the states
and the Confederation Congress could not leverage such unanimity. In September of 1786,
representatives from the five states bordering the Chesapeake Bay convened in Annapolis, Maryland,
for the supposed purpose of discussing trade issues. The Nationalists among the Annapolis
Convention delegates proceeded to plant the seed of a peaceful counterrevolution against the
Confederation Congress (Text, 109). The Nationalist delegates at this convention purposed to invite
representatives from all thirteen states to a meeting in Philadelphia in the spring of 1787. However,
they worded the invitation to indicate only a

The Miners During Colonial Latin America
During Colonial Latin America, the major production of silver and mercury as benefited Spaniards,
while Indians worked for hours in the mines. Miners during this time were exposed to dangerous
conditions in which many died of diseases, contamination/poisoning and injuries and all for low

processes behind the production of mercury and silver. Also, the pollution that surged as consequence
and the conditions through which each indigenous citizen underwent during this period of time, as
well as how it has affected modern days. Robins also researched the countless deaths of the
indigenous population due to the abusive labor system on the mercury and silver mines. The
conditions in the mines and the labor behind it became one of the motives to which took Robins to
research these mines and compare the after mass of those years. This being said, he observed how it
commenced, how the workers were brought to the mines, how they were treaded, to what they were
exposed, how it affected them and how after years, these places remained polluted. The historic
research conducted by Robins occurred by the use of archives from colonial Latin America. Robins
implements factual information from the miners to its founders, with his on knowledge and those of

A Report On The Taxi Industry
Introduction
The taxi industry is closely linked with people s life and it is seriously regulated in most cities in
Australia. This review examines an article that links cost of regulation to taxi industry in Sydney. The
article, The High Cost of Taxi Regulation, with Special Reference to Sydney, was written by Peter
Abelson, a part time economic advisor to the NSW Treasury. As the title of the article indicates, the
author found some papers that show the taxi industry in Sydney is over regulated under some
regulations, which are regulations of industry structure, quantity, services and prices. The cost of taxi
deregulation is lower than taxi regulation. The article shows a conclusion that the productive forces
and services revenue would be greater if other rules which restrict taxi services were canceled. The
NSW government does not make any changes because of insufficient understanding of the advantages
of market regulations. This review will summary the main points of Peter s paper first, then put
forward the personal view about the article and conclude with some suggestions.

Essay on A Fallen Angel
A Fallen Angel Gabriel Garcia Marquez wrote A Very Old Man With Enormous Wings. I t was
translated from Spanish to English by Gregory Rabassa. It is the story of an elderly angel found by a
family in their courtyard. It had rained for three days and crabs were coming into Pelayo s house. His
baby became ill and he thought the illness was caused by the stench of the crabs. On returning home
from throwing the crabs into the ocean, Pelayo encounters an old man with large battered wings lying
face down in the mud. Frightened, he hurriedly beckons his wife to see his discovery. After their

He tolerated the onlookers except at one point when they burned him with a branding iron. He jumped
up in pain and yelled out in an unintelligible dialect. Pelayo and his family profit well from the angel,
until a spider woman becomes the new central attraction. The angel could rest in the chicken coop, as
he was no longer a sideshow spectacle. Pelayo had a great deal of money from his endeavor and built
a large mansion. The only thing he did not rebuild was the chicken coop. After a time, the fear faded
and the chicken coop door was left open. The child was allowed to play with him. They got chicken
pox at the same time. After the chicken coop was destroyed by wear, the angel wandered about the
house. Eventually the angel became frail and very ill he walked into posts, his wings were bare and
finally collapsed into feverish fits. After the fevers past, he began to change. His feathers grew back
and his health returned. Elisenda watched from the window as he clumsily took his first flight,
eventually he gained control of his wings and soared into the distance and out of sight. The main
characters of this story are the angel, Pelayo, his wife Elisenda and their child. The angel is a
wretchedly sad character. He is old, worn and has no verbal means of communication. Pelayo and his
wife are selfish and are in total control of the angel. Later in the story they appear sympathetic

Equality For Women In The Early 20 s
Every individual in this world requires the same necessities in order to survive. Despite this, men
seem to receive a much greater advantage in society. For centuries women have been fighting for
gender equality. Although this constant battle still lives on, the growth society has had on gender
equality is remarkable. At the beginning of the 20th century women were expected to have one role in
society; marry in her early 20s, start a family and dedicate her entire life to caring for her family.
Towards the end of the 20th century, entering the workforce became a daily routine for a majority of
the female population. In addition women were getting married later and only having children in their
30s. When women initially entered the workforce

Educational Law And The Legal Service
On the face of it, clinical legal education is beneficial to both the student cohort and the local
community as it provides students with the opportunity to gain practical experience while delivering a
service to the public. It is defined by Kerrigan as learning through participation in real or realistic
legal interactions, coupled with reflections on this experience . Through this, a focus is placed on
facilitating learning through a practice based approach grounded on client interaction. This generates a
natural tension between fulfilling the educational aims of a clinic and the legal service needs of
clients. This paper will examine such tensions, practically and theoretically, in respect to pedagogical
instruction and lack of supervisory resources while providing personal reflections. It will conclude
that there is to an exaggerated extent an imbalance between the educational aims of law clinics and the
legal service needs of clients; however, this is not to the detriment of the client as it does not affect the
quality of legal aid given by students.
Exploiting Vulnerable People for Pedagogical Benefits
Educational law clinics raise the ethical dilemma of exploiting vulnerable people in society for
pedagogical benefits. As such, if a supervisor believes that a case provides an inadequate educational
benefit, it may be turned away; or in circumstances whereby a case has been opened, closed. Nicolson
argues that this refusal to help these clients can prove to be

How Did Religion Influence Ancient Greek Society
Religion was a very important factor in Ancient Greek society. The city states had the same religion.
Zeus is the God of Gods according to their belief system. The ancient Greeks have a polytheistic
religion with twelve main Gods. In Greek Mythology, people believe that the gods are a part of every
aspect of life and they influence the events in life. Olympia was a shrine to Zeus. Greek religion was
present in almost all aspects of the Olympics, the religion was accepted by the majority of Greek
society, they made sacrifices and believed that the gods influenced the victors, the victors were
rewarded with sacred items. All of the city states believed in Greek mythology and it was mostly
accepted by Greeks. There was no one book of sacred scripture. There were no binding social classes
from religion because they believed that the Gods and Goddess would give gifts to those who they
saw fit. The religion was very much influenced by nature. They worshiped in sanctuaries. Often times

Heraia, in honor of the Goddess Hera, Zeus s wife. They had running races; no sports were played
unless the women were from Sparta (The Olympic Games). The women also wanted to honor a god
which further displays the desire within the ancient Greeks to please the gods, also with so many
people going to the Olympics hoping to show Zeus that they wish to please him exemplifies how

Analyzing 50 s And 60s American Society Through Music
Analyzing 50 s and 60s American society through music
The two songs that I am going to analyze Is Nina Simone To Be Young, Gifted and Black, and Gil
Scott Heron Whitey on the Moon . I will view both of these songs in terms of there contributions to
the counter hegemonic force fighting against the dominant white supremacist ideology that was
prevalent during the 50 s and 60 s.
To give some quick context about Nina Simone, she was a genuine musical artist who routinely
recorded music that ranged across tunes from all genres. The greatest of these was To Be Young,
Gifted and Black, which Simone composed with her new protégé Weldon Irvine, a youthful jazz artist
and arranger of musicals, whose frightful verses paid tribute to the late civil rights activist Lorraine
Hansberry, who fought bravely for the rights of all Americans before her unfourtanate death. Nina
Simone had noticed that the moral of black Americans was destroyed by the way that the dominant
ideology of white supremacy which had successfully sold the idea that all races that were not White
were inferior, low class citizens who should accept there roles and deal with it. She acted as a counter
hegemonic force that challenged the way blacks were thought to view themselves for what they really
are, valuable, talented, and gifted human beings just like the Anglos were. Gil Scott Heron sang the
lyric Whitey on the Moon in 1970 reacting to Neil Armstrong s outing to the moon. In the ballad,

The network protocol rules include the strategies that have characteristics of a network including the
access method that allowed the types of cabling, physical topologies and the data transfer speed.
Which in this document the most common research will based on IPv4 and IPv6 addresses and the
transition between the two.
1. IPV4 vs. IPV6 Network protocols
The Internet Protocol Version 4 (IPv4) is the 4th revision of the Internet Protocol (IP) that usually
utilized to identify the devices on network through the use of proper addressing system. It is mainly
designed to efficiently use in the interconnected systems of packet switched computer communication
networks. This old version is extensively used to connect the devices with the internet. IPV4 has the
32 bit address scheme that provide total 4 billion addresses but due to the rapid growth of wireless
communication, the number of unused IPV4 addresses will ultimately run out because every device
containing the smartphones, computers and game consoles directly connect with the internet that
requires an address. This problem will solve after the development of IPV6 network protocol that
fulfill the needs for more internet addresses. The IPV6 network protocol has the 128 bits address that
has the ability to allow 340 billion unique addresses. The enhanced address space characteristic of
IPV6 provides the ability of having the less complexity in the

Should Plato Have Lumped All Sophists
Plato was not praising Socrates as the only real philosopher, but rather, he was attempting to elevate
the identity of his master, ironically by means of a rhetorical strategy of dissociation. Plato derides all
sophists, and does not distinguish between a neo sophist and a sophist. He makes a distinction
between a sophist and a philosopher; sophists were deceivers who only seek to influence others by the
use of rhetoric and does not offer true knowledge, and the philosopher was a lover of wisdom who
sought truth (Plato Sophist, 233c; Plato Phaedrus, 278d). I argue that Plato was wrong in making this
distinction. Plato should not have lumped all sophists into the neo sophistic basket. He should have
recognised that not all sophists during ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Plato never does this directly, as it would destroy his argument for disposing of the sophists. But when
paying close attention to Plato s dialogues, you can see a much lighter tone is being taken towards
some sophistic thinkers, something close to admiration (Plato Protagoras, 337a 337d; 318d 319b).
These thinkers include Protagoras and Prodicus, both of which were classed as sophists . I refrain
from labeling them neo sophists, as I do think what they were doing was a kind of philosophy.
Protagoras focused on a variety of topics, including truth, and relativism (Plato, Protagoras 319a;
Plato, Theaetetus, 152a). While Prodicus was concerned with linguistics and ethical theory
(Xenophon, Memorabilia 2. 1.21). A definitive answer is difficult to achieve, as the evidence of what
remains today is largely based off writing from both Plato and Aristotle, both of whom were bias
towards sophists. Nevertheless, they are definitely portrayed with much greater respect by Plato then
the other neo sophists who he derides. Whether or not Plato secretly considered them real
philosophers is difficult to say, but I do not think Plato regarded them as petty and hungry for power

Heart Surgery Research Paper
Humans have made plenty of progress over the course of history. None of this development would be
possible without their ability to adapt to their environment and utilize it in ways never thought to be
possible. Humans are largely dependent on animals for survival. They depend on them for nutrients,
transportation, and labor, among other things. These are all important contributions made by animals,
however, they have also made a huge impact in the development of modern medicine. Without
animals, many surgical procedures, such as heart surgery and in vitro fertilization would not exist.
Many treatments for different medical conditions such as diabetes, congestive heart failure,
hypertension, and heart disease as well. Animals, such as maggots, have also shown to be very
effective towards wound debridement.
Today, heart surgery is a fairly common surgical procedure in the United States, though it has dropped
in the last several years. Heart surgery is a very important procedure because of the importance of the
heart. The heart is responsible for pumping blood to the entire body and providing it with oxygen.
Heart disease can have an extremely detrimental effect on the body, and can result in death due to lack

chromosomes from strawberries and creating a DNA model. The class was split into groups of 8 each
group assigned to a classroom for the day. Furthermore splitting into pairs to work with a group of 6
children. I lead my group teaching them interesting facts about science and how science is involved in

Explain The Information Processing Theory Of How...
1) Describe the information processing theory of how performers produce and control actions.
The information processing theory is a thinking method, when trying to understand how the human
mind moves sensory information s to other parts of the human mind. The information processing
theory starts off with the input which will come from the environment e.g. the movement of a player
within a rugby game, which will then be picked up by the sensory stores. The information that we
gathered from the environment will be stored within the sensory store for 200 500 milliseconds before
being passed on to the perceptual mechanism.

The Sounds of Sonny s Blues
Sean Cohen English 1197 Sec 001 April 10th, 2012 The Sounds of Sonny s Blues James Baldwin s
Sonny s Blues is a short story focused around the narration of Sonny s brother. The narrator in the case
of Sonny s Blues is the most important character in a cast of characters not only because he is the
narrator, but due to the dynamic change of his character we see at the end of the story. Baldwin
effectively uses the first person narration of Sonny s brother in order to convey the theme of
communication. Throughout the entire story of Sonny s Blues, the narrator and his brother interact
through exchanging words countless times. The question posed is whether or not the narrator can truly
hear what his brother is saying to him. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And Sonny couldn t take that. (p. 91) This interaction between Sonny and Isabel and her family is a
critical moment Baldwin uses to convey the theme of communication. Sonny is putting his heart and
soul into the music as a way to communicate the way he feels, but the people around him do not
understand his interpretation and in turn cannot communicate with Sonny. The dynamic character with
the most impact in the story is easily the narrator. A dynamic character is a character that undergoes a
major change in the story. We see this major change finally come in the last sequence of the story.
Sonny and the narrator go to a nightclub where the narrator watches Sonny perform on the piano. This
is where the reader finally sees the narrator gain an understanding of his brother. And, while Creole
listened, Sonny moved, deep within exactly like someone in torment. I had never before thought of
how awful the relationship must be between the musician and his instrument. He has to fill it, this
instrument, with the breath of life, his own. (p. 99) The narrator finally understand why Sonny is
attracted to music. Music gives him the ability to express himself, to communicate his feelings with
others in a way words do not allow. A tortured soul, Sonny is able to be free of the torment of life
when he plays the piano. Freedom lurked around us and I understood, at last, that he could help us to
be free if we would listen, that he would never be free until we

Absolute Monarchy In The French Revolution
At its beginnings, monarchy was a political system in which the King was the major authority in his
country. Its power and respect emanated from the belief that he had been chosen by a God or holy
source. Generally, monarchies has always been associated to a religion (Catholicism, in the case of
Spain). It wasn t until the French Revolution, at the end of XVIIIth century, when some countries
started change the way they were governed. Before this Revolution, the only form they had was the
absolute monarchy, in which the king gathered the three state powers: executive, legislative and
judicial. The inhabitants of the nation were submitted to the king s power. Before the French
Revolution, the forms of government were divided into three forms: ... Show more content on

The second form of government created was the Parliamentary Monarchy, in which the king had some

official stabilization there were some precedents: around the XVIIth century, the king had a group of
people that recommended him what to do concerning politics and legal things. This small group ended

What happens to the IEP? How do I get an Accommodation Packet?
Once students are accepted they should contact their post secondary settings Disability Services Office
(ideally this is done prior to the start of the semester to ensure necessary supports are implemented at
the beginning of the year). Students will not receive services if they do not advocate for their
educational needs. They must submit adequate documentation of their disability (IEPs, educational

meet with Disability Service staff to create an Accommodation Package, which takes the place of an

from in the past. Oftentimes, Disability Services will assist students in course selection and can advise
them on specific accommodations for varying subjects or courses.

countries might know if the national systems of innovation were effective. I will conclude by stating
my opinion on whether or not Australia has an effective national system of innovation. . . . . . . . . . . . .

Rise of the Muslim Brotherhood
The Rise of the Muslim Brotherhood
The Muslim Brotherhood is the largest Islamist organization in Egypt. It was founded in the 1920s by
Hassan Al Banna. The movement was a model of political activism combined with Islamic charity
work. At first, it only aimed to spread Islamic morals, but soon became involved in politics. While the
Muslim Brotherhood claims that it supports democratic principles, it aims to create a state ruled by Al
Shariaa. Al Shariaa is the Islamic law stated in the Quran. The Brotherhood s mostly used slogan is
Islam is the solution , and it is known worldwide. It officially opposes violence to achieve goals;
however, some of the movement s members were involved in massacres, bombings and assassinations

The movement is currently seeking to avoid full authority. It is, however, focusing on the longer term.
The Brotherhood is aiming for a leading role in the process of writing a new constitution. Indeed, it is
not clear if the old strategies of the Muslim Brotherhood will guide their actions through the coming
days (Brown). Another cause to the success of the Muslim Brotherhood is that its offices acted as
social service agencies. During winter people used to drop in asking for blankets, which the party
handed them out along with their brochures. They as well helped several people in paying their
medical bills (Kristof).
According to interviews I have conducted with different Freedom and Justice Party s supporters, I
have discovered some of the reasons why they voted for them in the elections. Some people believe
that Islam is the only solution for building a new, better and safer Egypt after the 25th of January
revolution. They believe that if the candidates are God fearing and obeying they won t be corrupt.
Another reason is that some members of the Freedom and Justice Party offered financial help for those
who would vote for them. Most of the people I interviewed were from a low social standard; therefore,
they were in need of this help. In fact, the Muslim Brotherhood exploited poor people to gain more
votes. That is mostly how they attempted to win most of

Biography
Who was Milton Hershey? The book I chose for my book report was, Who was Milton Hershey? The
author of this book is James Buckley Jr. There were a few little illustrations in this book and those
were by Ted Hammond. This book is part of a series, so there are many gripping books like this one in
this series! These books tell about different people and a little bit about who they were or what they
did. The book I chose was about Milton Hershey; and as most of you know, he created the delightful,
mouthwatering candy we all love, the Hershey s milk chocolate bar. Hershey Pennsylvania is the main
setting in this book. This is a town created by Milton Hershey himself! He created this town because

Kohlberg s Moral Development Theory
Whenever Billy or his girlfriend ask Ashley to do her chores such as cleaning her room or cleaning the
table, she wants to know what is in it for her? They usually give her sticker or let her play compute
games for 15 minutes. She is happily doing that to earn the rewards. Ashley s point of view that, she
looks for her benefit or reward put her in Stage 2 of level 1(Pre conventional) base on Kohlberg s
Theory which is a Moral development theory. Kohlberg s Moral Development is based on the
reasoning. Pre conventional level is based on the physical consequences of an act. Reasoning and
actions in pre conventional governed by the standards of others like punishment for stage 1 or reward
for stage 2, not internalized standards. Ashley s mother told Billy that, she used to time out Ashley for
not listening to her and it was work great on her. Now, time out is still an option but doesn t work like
sticker or computer time. Two years ago, Ashley was in stage one, which is Obedience and
punishment, means child acting well to avoid punishment. She is in stage 2 right now. Stage two (self
interest driven) expresses the what s in it for me position, in this stage, right behavior is defined by
whatever the individual believes to be in their best interest but understood in a narrow way which does
not consider one s reputation or relationships to groups of people. Stage two reasoning shows a limited
interest in the needs of others, but only to a point where it might further the

Analysis Of Popper On The Falsifiability Of String Theory
So, Francesca Vada A. December 3, 2015
2BIO 9 PHLSCI
Popper on the Falsifiability of String Theory
Karl Popper is one of the greatest philosophers of the 20th century believed that strength of a scientific
theory lies in its both being susceptible to falsification, and not actually being falsified by criticism
made of it. He considered that if a theory cannot, in principle, be falsified by criticism, it is not a
scientific theory.
Today, we are taught that inside an atom, there are protons and neutrons, which are made up of quarks.
String theory said that what we thought as indivisible particles are actually tiny vibrating strings.
Nothing really mystical, but it is a really tiny string. During the 1980s, the idea caught on and started a
string band wagon. The great attraction of the string ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some scientists, supporting Popper, have suggested that these theories are non scientific because they
are not falsifiable. String theory says that, in certain regions of parameter space, ordinary particles
behave as loops or segments of one dimensional strings. The relevant parameter space might be
inaccessible to us, but it is part of the theory that cannot be avoided. In the cosmological theoretical
reality, regions unlike our own are clearly apparent there, even if we can t reach them. This is what
distinguishes these theories from the approaches Popper was trying to classify as non scientific.
Popper himself understood that theories should be falsifiable in principle, but that modifier is often
forgotten in contemporary discussions. It is simple and it goes like this: if string theory and multiverse
theories help us understand the world, they will grow in acceptance. However, if they prove ultimately
too difficult, or better theories come along, they will be

The Oregon Trail Essay example
The Oregon Trail
The Oregon Trail was a very important aspect in the history of our country s development. When
Marcus and Narcissa Whitman made the first trip along the Oregon Trail, many Americans saw a
window of opportunity. The Oregon Trail was the only practical way to pass through the Rockies.
Pioneers crammed themselves into small wagons to try to make it to the unsettled land; however, 10%
of these pioneers died on the way due to disease and accidents.
The journey along the Oregon Trail was a very long and rough experience. Stretching out to almost a
whopping 2000 miles it usually took the pioneers 4 6 months travelling at 12 to 16 miles per hour.
Throughout this journey the pioneers had to battle with cholera, poor ... Show more content on

The role of the Native Americans during the time of the Oregon Trail was a very important one. The
first section of the Oregon Trail bisected two major Native American tribes, these were the Cheyenne
to the north and the Pawnee to the south. Many of the travelers feared attacks by these tribes but were
surprised when they were allowed to pass unharmed. The Native Americans were the opposite of what
was expected of them. They were very helpful to the travelers. They often helped travelers pull out
stuck wagons, rescue drowning travelers, and even round up lost cattle. Native Americans also acted
as guides, carried messages between wagon trains, traded with the travelers, and even helped some
travelers cross Indian land.
Most of the encounters with the Native Americans were simple business transactions. Travelers traded
clothing, rifles, and tobacco products in exchange for horses and food. However, many travelers
complained that the Native Americans charged expensive tolls for crossing their lands. Conflicts
between the Indians and the travelers were pretty rare. Out of the 500,000 people to travel along the
Oregon Trail fewer than 400 pioneers lost their lives due to attacks. When the travelers had overgrazed
the prairie grasses, burned all the available firewood, and killed all the herds of buffalo attacks were
expected by the travelers. In order to

Most Challenging Obstacle Research Paper
Most Challenging Obstacle When I was about seven years old, I remember my parents telling me the
news that my Father lost his job. Due to the economy, the company he worked for was going out of
business and could not afford to keep him. Since I was so young, I did not fully comprehend the
impact of what I was hearing. It wasn t until we moved into a smaller home and had no extra money
that I realized the extent of the situation. I began to see from a young age the impact money had on
life; it controlled everything. My parents were constantly stressed about how they would pay their
next bill or buy groceries for the week. I remember countless times when I begged God to give my
family money and help my Dad find a job. Even though this prayer was not answered for many years
later, God still showed me that He would always provide. Financial hardship has been an obstacle in
my life for many years, but I know that God is using that obstacle to mold me into a stronger woman
of Christ. From this obstacle, I have learned how to trust in Jesus even when it seems impossible. God
proved to my family and me multiple times that He was not leaving us behind or forgetting us.
Through all the chaos and anxiety, God would send small gifts to reassure us that He was still there.
From anonymous checks to the church paying for our Christmas, I was able to build up my faith in
Him more than ever. I remember one ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It continues to impact me as I move into the next chapter of my life, and frighten me with what my
future holds. I have learned how to trust in the Lord even when it seems impossible, and focus on what
really matters in my life. My only hope is that I can take what I have learned from this obstacle and
use it to shape my future. As I begin my new journey of finding the right college, I pray that God will
provide me with the college that will keep my faith strong and my eyes on

  • 2. The Automobile Industry Of Japan s Manufacturing... Taichii Ohno (1912 1990) is best known not as a guru but a symbol of Japan s manufacturing resurgence after World War II (Guide to Management Ideas and Gurus. 2008). Ohno worked in Toyota, a Japanese car company as a production engineer. At the end of second world war, when Toyota s productivity was way below that of its competitors, the president of Toyota Motor Company highlighted that they must catch up with America within three years. Otherwise, the automobile industry of Japan will not survive. Ohno and his associates then came to America to study about the manufacturing process and after that invented Just in Time manufacturing management method. The principle of Just in Time (JIT) is to produce and/or deliver the right quantity of products, of the right quality, within the right time and at the right place in order to increase productivity, efficiency and to decrease costs and wastes associated with overproduction. According to International Journal of Economics, Business and Finance (2013), JIT consists of two main elements which must be integrated together to function in harmony including human resources, planning based on the elimination of wastes. The first key to JIT success is human involvement which includes stockholders, owners of the company, labor organization, suppliers and Government support. JIT creates the idea of involving all workers at different levels of the organization. This can be achieved by motivation, communication, encouragement to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. How The Film Industry Has A Huge Budget For The City Over... PART 2 CIRCULAR ECONOMY Nowadays people know the price of everything and the value of nothing Oscar Wilde, 1890 Again, my concern started with a personal experience. In 2014, I was working as an Experience Designer for Universal Pictures NBC International Ltd. . The film industry has a huge budget to spend on the building of visual artefacts. However, I was quite shocked by the squandering of resources I witnessed. There was no care or awareness of sustainability. Also, I expected designers and production to work much more closely together, which would have prevented much waste in the first place. Yet, the film industry being as hierarchical as it is, production never got back to me. According to the London Data store, London is already the third busiest city in filmmaking in the world, behind LA and New York. This booming industry has brought £770m of investment to the city over the last four years. 8. London Datastore greater London authority (2015), [accessed 6 May 2016]. I have always been fascinated by transforming materials into something magical. Yet most of the time my task was to transform the very cheapest materials into a luxuriously looking illusion. Obviously as a designer one aims to make the best of available resources in the most efficient way. But ever working quicker and faster and thus taking a toll on quality, made me feel uncomfortable. • 4. If We Were Birds To this day, I can discretely remember watching an episode of war in an historical Indian drama where the men were out fighting a war, while women left in the city gathered in preparation for Jauhar. Innocently, I asked my mom what the women were doing. They are preparing for the possibility that their army might lose the battle. I didn t understand her answer at the time, in fact it slipped my mind until I started reading If We Were Birds. Researching the usage of rape as a tactic of war and reading the two works have enhanced my understanding such that I am now able to infer, very accurately, the meaning behind my mom s incomplete explanation. The simplest way in my opinion is by making yourself knowledgeable in the area. With my present power, I don t think I can help increase awareness on the local, let alone global level. It makes me feel powerless, like how the women must have felt. However, I will continue to bear witness by learning about the horrible events that women experienced and continue to experience today, for that is all I can do presently. I strongly feel that if those women had the courage to speak out against the violence despite knowing about the repercussions they would have to face, I have no excuse for not speaking out. In the future sometime, I would like to join an organization devoted to raising awareness about this dehumanizing tactic, so that I will be able to make use to this knowledge that I have gained and will continue to gain and free myself from the agony that despite knowing, I continued to remain ... If you carefully consider the surrounding context of a passage, but ignore its literary genre, it could result in significant consequences, such as, committing damage to the original meaning of the text. It is important to take the text into consideration because it gives relevance to the meaning. Duvall and Hays explains in their book how the Bible is everything . Therefore, without understanding the context, there is no meaning because each story/literature in the Bible has its own specific rules that we all need to understand. • 8. The Declaration Of Independence And The United States... The Declaration of Independence was a new beginning for the thirteen colonies, formerly a part of the British empire. This document brought about a new understanding of how the country would be run. The Articles of Confederation were adopted November 15, 1777 and remained the sole form of government until it was replaced by the current United States Constitution in 1788 for its lack of efficiency in running the country. Federalists and Anti Federalists argued endlessly over the pros and cons of the two documents. The questions that arise are is the Constitution a radical change from the Articles or was it not so distinct? As well as, do both documents embody the Declaration or does one document do more so? The United States Constitution, which holds truer to the principles in the Declaration of Independence, is a radical change from the Articles of Confederation. The Constitution was a distinct change from the Articles, but similarities between the two do exist. Both documents were established by the same people. The Continental Congress resided over the writing of both. Both documents refer to the country as The United States of America. • 10. Relationship Between Child Development And Early Child Care Abstract Over the past several years, researches have study the relationship between child development, early child care, and the importance of early children s experiences. Although researchers have found that most children in day care don t suffer from the experience, recent research suggest that child care hours is related with externalized behaviors. Child care has demonstrated to be a predictor in a child s academic success later in life. High quality child care predicts higher vocabulary scores and advanced cognitive outcomes, but also exposure to child care centers reported externalizing problems such a behavioral problems and conflicts. However, another research indicates that children exposed to non maternal child care become identical from their peers with little or no history of non maternal care from a social emotional perspective. In addition, a research shows that low quality care is related to poor performance; however, the amount of time children spend in non maternal care outside the home does not appear to be related to child development. Even though child care does not appear to be related with child development, researchers discuss the potential positive and negative long term effects in their behavior later in life in the following areas: academically, emotionally, and socially. Long Term Effects of Child Care The 20th century marks a period in which families increasingly relied on child care as more mothers of children work outside the home. ... James Madison proposed the Virginia Plan, a plan which advocated a balanced, three branch method of government with a bicameral, or two house, Congress. He led armed bands of these men against the courts of western Massachusetts in an effort to force a closure of the court system (Text, 110). The rebellion was defeated by January of the following year but it was clear that change was needed. By the time that Shay s Rebellion occurred, the Nationalists ad been trying to amend the Articles of Confederation for several years. In September of 1786, representatives from the five states bordering the Chesapeake Bay convened in Annapolis, Maryland, for the supposed purpose of discussing trade issues. The Nationalists among the Annapolis Convention delegates proceeded to plant the seed of a peaceful counterrevolution against the Confederation Congress (Text, 109). Educational Law And The Legal Service On the face of it, clinical legal education is beneficial to both the student cohort and the local community as it provides students with the opportunity to gain practical experience while delivering a service to the public. It is defined by Kerrigan as learning through participation in real or realistic legal interactions, coupled with reflections on this experience . Through this, a focus is placed on facilitating learning through a practice based approach grounded on client interaction. This generates a natural tension between fulfilling the educational aims of a clinic and the legal service needs of clients. This paper will examine such tensions, practically and theoretically, in respect to pedagogical instruction and lack of supervisory resources while providing personal reflections. It will conclude that there is to an exaggerated extent an imbalance between the educational aims of law clinics and the legal service needs of clients; however, this is not to the detriment of the client as it does not affect the quality of legal aid given by students. Exploiting Vulnerable People for Pedagogical Benefits Educational law clinics raise the ethical dilemma of exploiting vulnerable people in society for pedagogical benefits. As such, if a supervisor believes that a case provides an inadequate educational benefit, it may be turned away; or in circumstances whereby a case has been opened, closed. Analyzing 50 s And 60s American Society Through Music Analyzing 50 s and 60s American society through music The two songs that I am going to analyze Is Nina Simone To Be Young, Gifted and Black, and Gil Scott Heron Whitey on the Moon . I will view both of these songs in terms of there contributions to the counter hegemonic force fighting against the dominant white supremacist ideology that was prevalent during the 50 s and 60 s. To give some quick context about Nina Simone, she was a genuine musical artist who routinely recorded music that ranged across tunes from all genres. The greatest of these was To Be Young, Gifted and Black, which Simone composed with her new protégé Weldon Irvine, a youthful jazz artist and arranger of musicals, whose frightful verses paid tribute to the late civil rights activist Lorraine Hansberry, who fought bravely for the rights of all Americans before her unfourtanate death. Nina Simone had noticed that the moral of black Americans was destroyed by the way that the dominant ideology of white supremacy which had successfully sold the idea that all races that were not White were inferior, low class citizens who should accept there roles and deal with it. She acted as a counter hegemonic force that challenged the way blacks were thought to view themselves for what they really are, valuable, talented, and gifted human beings just like the Anglos were. • 32. Should Plato Have Lumped All Sophists Plato was not praising Socrates as the only real philosopher, but rather, he was attempting to elevate the identity of his master, ironically by means of a rhetorical strategy of dissociation. Plato derides all sophists, and does not distinguish between a neo sophist and a sophist. He makes a distinction between a sophist and a philosopher; sophists were deceivers who only seek to influence others by the use of rhetoric and does not offer true knowledge, and the philosopher was a lover of wisdom who sought truth (Plato Sophist, 233c; Plato Phaedrus, 278d). I argue that Plato was wrong in making this distinction. Plato should not have lumped all sophists into the neo sophistic basket. He should have recognised that not all sophists during ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Plato never does this directly, as it would destroy his argument for disposing of the sophists. But when paying close attention to Plato s dialogues, you can see a much lighter tone is being taken towards some sophistic thinkers, something close to admiration (Plato Protagoras, 337a 337d; 318d 319b). These thinkers include Protagoras and Prodicus, both of which were classed as sophists . I refrain from labeling them neo sophists, as I do think what they were doing was a kind of philosophy. Protagoras focused on a variety of topics, including truth, and relativism (Plato, Protagoras 319a; Plato, Theaetetus, 152a). While Prodicus was concerned with linguistics and ethical theory (Xenophon, Memorabilia 2. 1.21). A definitive answer is difficult to achieve, as the evidence of what remains today is largely based off writing from both Plato and Aristotle, both of whom were bias towards sophists. Nevertheless, they are definitely portrayed with much greater respect by Plato then the other neo sophists who he derides. • 44. Rise of the Muslim Brotherhood The Rise of the Muslim Brotherhood The Muslim Brotherhood is the largest Islamist organization in Egypt. It was founded in the 1920s by Hassan Al Banna. The movement was a model of political activism combined with Islamic charity work. At first, it only aimed to spread Islamic morals, but soon became involved in politics. While the Muslim Brotherhood claims that it supports democratic principles, it aims to create a state ruled by Al Shariaa. Al Shariaa is the Islamic law stated in the Quran. The Brotherhood s mostly used slogan is Islam is the solution , and it is known worldwide. It officially opposes violence to achieve goals; however, some of the movement s members were involved in massacres, bombings and assassinations of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The movement is currently seeking to avoid full authority. It is, however, focusing on the longer term. The Brotherhood is aiming for a leading role in the process of writing a new constitution. Indeed, it is not clear if the old strategies of the Muslim Brotherhood will guide their actions through the coming days (Brown). Another cause to the success of the Muslim Brotherhood is that its offices acted as social service agencies. During winter people used to drop in asking for blankets, which the party handed them out along with their brochures. They as well helped several people in paying their medical bills (Kristof). According to interviews I have conducted with different Freedom and Justice Party s supporters, I have discovered some of the reasons why they voted for them in the elections. Some people believe that Islam is the only solution for building a new, better and safer Egypt after the 25th of January revolution. They believe that if the candidates are God fearing and obeying they won t be corrupt. Another reason is that some members of the Freedom and Justice Party offered financial help for those who would vote for them. Most of the people I interviewed were from a low social standard; therefore, they were in need of this help. In fact, the Muslim Brotherhood exploited poor people to gain more votes. That is mostly how they attempted to win most of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 46. Kohlberg s Moral Development Theory Whenever Billy or his girlfriend ask Ashley to do her chores such as cleaning her room or cleaning the table, she wants to know what is in it for her? They usually give her sticker or let her play compute games for 15 minutes. She is happily doing that to earn the rewards. Ashley s point of view that, she looks for her benefit or reward put her in Stage 2 of level 1(Pre conventional) base on Kohlberg s Theory which is a Moral development theory. Kohlberg s Moral Development is based on the reasoning. Pre conventional level is based on the physical consequences of an act. Reasoning and actions in pre conventional governed by the standards of others like punishment for stage 1 or reward for stage 2, not internalized standards. Ashley s mother told Billy that, she used to time out Ashley for not listening to her and it was work great on her. Now, time out is still an option but doesn t work like sticker or computer time. Two years ago, Ashley was in stage one, which is Obedience and punishment, means child acting well to avoid punishment. She is in stage 2 right now. Stage two (self interest driven) expresses the what s in it for me position, in this stage, right behavior is defined by whatever the individual believes to be in their best interest but understood in a narrow way which does not consider one s reputation or relationships to groups of people. Stage two reasoning shows a limited interest in the needs of others, but only to a point where it might further the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 47. Analysis Of Popper On The Falsifiability Of String Theory So, Francesca Vada A. December 3, 2015 2BIO 9 PHLSCI Popper on the Falsifiability of String Theory Karl Popper is one of the greatest philosophers of the 20th century believed that strength of a scientific theory lies in its both being susceptible to falsification, and not actually being falsified by criticism made of it. He considered that if a theory cannot, in principle, be falsified by criticism, it is not a scientific theory. Today, we are taught that inside an atom, there are protons and neutrons, which are made up of quarks. String theory said that what we thought as indivisible particles are actually tiny vibrating strings. Nothing really mystical, but it is a really tiny string. During the 1980s, the idea caught on and started a string band wagon. The great attraction of the string ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some scientists, supporting Popper, have suggested that these theories are non scientific because they are not falsifiable. String theory says that, in certain regions of parameter space, ordinary particles behave as loops or segments of one dimensional strings. The relevant parameter space might be inaccessible to us, but it is part of the theory that cannot be avoided. In the cosmological theoretical reality, regions unlike our own are clearly apparent there, even if we can t reach them. This is what distinguishes these theories from the approaches Popper was trying to classify as non scientific. Popper himself understood that theories should be falsifiable in principle, but that modifier is often forgotten in contemporary discussions. It is simple and it goes like this: if string theory and multiverse theories help us understand the world, they will grow in acceptance. However, if they prove ultimately too difficult, or better theories come along, they will be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 48. The Oregon Trail Essay example The Oregon Trail The Oregon Trail was a very important aspect in the history of our country s development. When Marcus and Narcissa Whitman made the first trip along the Oregon Trail, many Americans saw a window of opportunity. The Oregon Trail was the only practical way to pass through the Rockies. Pioneers crammed themselves into small wagons to try to make it to the unsettled land; however, 10% of these pioneers died on the way due to disease and accidents. The journey along the Oregon Trail was a very long and rough experience. Stretching out to almost a whopping 2000 miles it usually took the pioneers 4 6 months travelling at 12 to 16 miles per hour. Throughout this journey the pioneers had to battle with cholera, poor ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The role of the Native Americans during the time of the Oregon Trail was a very important one. The first section of the Oregon Trail bisected two major Native American tribes, these were the Cheyenne to the north and the Pawnee to the south. Many of the travelers feared attacks by these tribes but were surprised when they were allowed to pass unharmed. The Native Americans were the opposite of what was expected of them. They were very helpful to the travelers. They often helped travelers pull out stuck wagons, rescue drowning travelers, and even round up lost cattle. Native Americans also acted as guides, carried messages between wagon trains, traded with the travelers, and even helped some travelers cross Indian land. Most of the encounters with the Native Americans were simple business transactions. Travelers traded clothing, rifles, and tobacco products in exchange for horses and food. However, many travelers complained that the Native Americans charged expensive tolls for crossing their lands. Conflicts between the Indians and the travelers were pretty rare. Out of the 500,000 people to travel along the Oregon Trail fewer than 400 pioneers lost their lives due to attacks. When the travelers had overgrazed the prairie grasses, burned all the available firewood, and killed all the herds of buffalo attacks were expected by the travelers. In order to ... • 49. Most Challenging Obstacle Research Paper Most Challenging Obstacle When I was about seven years old, I remember my parents telling me the news that my Father lost his job. Due to the economy, the company he worked for was going out of business and could not afford to keep him. Since I was so young, I did not fully comprehend the impact of what I was hearing. It wasn t until we moved into a smaller home and had no extra money that I realized the extent of the situation. I began to see from a young age the impact money had on life; it controlled everything. My parents were constantly stressed about how they would pay their next bill or buy groceries for the week. I remember countless times when I begged God to give my family money and help my Dad find a job. Even though this prayer was not answered for many years later, God still showed me that He would always provide. Financial hardship has been an obstacle in my life for many years, but I know that God is using that obstacle to mold me into a stronger woman of Christ. From this obstacle, I have learned how to trust in Jesus even when it seems impossible. God proved to my family and me multiple times that He was not leaving us behind or forgetting us. Through all the chaos and anxiety, God would send small gifts to reassure us that He was still there. From anonymous checks to the church paying for our Christmas, I was able to build up my faith in Him more than ever. I remember one ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
