Information Technology ( It ) Is A Universal And Versatile...
Overview
Information Technology (IT) is a universal and versatile tool. It involves our life in
every aspect. For example, we used smart phone, WhatsApp, FaceTime to contact
people, used computer, e mail, video conferences to work. In fact, I prefer shopping
online to going to the mall. If I did not have a GPS, I would lose my way. In
addition, I can order pizza or anything else in the internet. In business, we cannot
without it. We used for information based system, intranet, and paperless system at
work. We need a financial managementsystem to deal with the financial things, and

Political Ideological Analysis
Political ideology can be defined as views on how the government should run and
is most commonly associated with a political party. It is essential to understand one
s political ideology to be a productive citizen in the United States government.
Voting is the right and responsibility of the American citizen, and if citizens do not
know their political ideas, they are not able to correctly participate. In addition to
this, it is important to completely understand one s political views to know which
candidate to vote for, and not just his or her party and the candidate s party.
Understanding one s views will lead to focusing on that when votingand not just
relying on a party s candidate to mirror one s views.
Another aspect of political ideology is understanding it at large. This is important ...

From the Youth Leadership Initiative s Political Ideology Survey, I was given the
classification of moderate. Elaborating on those results, the quiz explained I
identify with views of both the Democrat and Republican party. After taking the
World s Smallest Political Test, my results concluded I was a Centrist who prefers
the middle ground. It also explained that people of this political group are often
broad minded and like to consider practical solutions to problems. As you can see,
the results from the two quizzes are fairly similar. They both classified me as being
in the middle of the two large parties, Republican and Democrat. I believe the
results given to me are accurate. I have never associated myself with a party, but
instead I like to research candidates and choose the one with views that relate to
mine. I consider my results to speak to this. By being moderate or a centrist, I side
with certain views of both parties, therefore not totally agreeing with either. If I tried
to vote only by identifying with the candidate s party, I would most likely vote
Quentin Tarantino s Film Pulp Fiction
Ever since Quentin Tarantino s film directorial debut in 1992 with his very first
film, Reservoir Dogs (1992), his films have been the same in terms of his uses of
lighting, themes, camera angles, and soundtracks used with his each one of his

volumes of Kill Bill(2003 2004). Quentin Tarantinowas born on March 27, 1963 in

Suicide Rates At South Korea And Wales
Suicide is defined as The action of killing oneself intentionally within both South
Korea and Wales. Suicide is seen as a huge social issue in both Wales and South
Korea, both countries have seen a huge rise in suicide rates in the last decade but
South Korea disproportionately sees a higher rate of suicide. Both countries are
experiencing a rise in suicide rates and so, suicide is seen as a huge social issue,
with government and non governmental bodies aiming to combat it. In my
investigation I will not only be researching who this issue affects and what issues
seem to be the main cause for the growth in suicide rates, but also responses and
ways people have tried to tackle this problem. To do this I will have to follow my
aims, which... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

the questionnaire.
I will research official, governmental, responses to the social issue of suicide in South
Korea and Wales.
I will research non official responses to the social issue of suicide in Korea and
South Wales.
Again to do the research I will be researching official responses and non
governmental responses to the suicide issue of suicide on the internet. I will be
looking up governmental bills, laws or places they have addressed these issues
publicly.
Aim Three: I will be looking up whether these responses have been effective as well
as the population s opinions on the responses. This again will be done in three ways:
I will research the statistical impact of these responses

Persuasive Essay On Teenage Driving
Driving down the highway, heading to the movies with three of your best friends
in the car singing along to your favorite song; what better way to spend a Friday
night. The car in front of you slams on their breaks; but you didn t notice, you were
looking over at your friend, singing and laughing. Suddenly, the lives of four
teenagers hang in the balance, dependent on the skill and reaction time of one
inexperienced teen driver. This scenario is far too common when reviewing the
safety of teenage drivers. Currently, Florida is one of five states in the country that
has no restriction on the number of teenage passengers in a car driven by a
teenage driver ( Teenagers ). As adults, parents, and members of our community,
we need to band together and encourage Florida lawmakers to impose restrictions
on the number of passengers under the age of 20 in vehicles driven by teenage
drivers. By doing so we not only protect the safety of our children but also innocent
passengers and fellow motorists. Fourteen states, including Georgia, Indiana, West
Virginia, and California prohibit any passengers under the age of twenty for the
first six months of driving and lessen the restriction, allowing one passenger under
the age of twenty after that ( Teenagers ). Statistics on teenage driving accidents and
deaths are alarming. According to 2012 statistics released by the National Center for
Health Statistics, 60% of passenger vehicle deaths were teens ages 13 19, 54% of the

The Origin Of Veterinary Profession
There is a lot I have been wondering about the veterinary profession so that is what I
chose to do my research paper on. Some topics I am doing it on are the origin of
veterinary profession, what a typical veterinarian day looks like, what kinds of
animals should I know how to take care of and also how to treat them, what a vet
technician does, and steps to help me become a veterinarian. Now the first topic is
the origin of veterinary profession. The veterinary profession is puzzling. How did
anyone even think to treat animals how we treat humans? It started in 9000 BC.
They were the first people we know of to ever use the veterinary profession. They
were mostly from the Middle East Countries such as Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Iran,
Turkey, and Iraq. The Sheep Herders had a strong understanding of medical skills.
Which they used their medical skills on dogs and other animals. From 4000 3000
BC the Egyptians took earlier medical skills and made further advancements. The
historical records show how they used herbs to treat and promote good health in
tamed animals. Then in 3000 BC Urlugaledinna lived in Mesopotamia and was
considered an expert on healing animals. In 1761 Claude Bourgelat founded a
veterinary school in Lyon, France. In 1785 the British veterinary profession began.
Veterinarians used to be mainly for horses then evolved to cattle, livestock than dogs
and now companion and exotic animals. Another topic I d like to talk about is a

Sonny s Blues
Sonny s Blues
A captivating tale of a relationship between two troubling brothers in Harlem, Sonny
s Blues is told from the perception of Sonny s brother, whose name is never
mentioned. Baldwin s choice of Sonny s brother as a narrator is what makes Sonny s
Blues significant in terms of illustrating the relationship and emotional complications
of Sonny and his brother. The significance of Sonny s Blues lies in the way Sonny s
brother describes their relationship based on what he observes, hears, and feels, and
how he struggles trying to understand Sonny through the course of the story. This is a
story of how two African Americans brothers take their own path through life as they

Their father spent many years struggling to support a family in an overtly racist
Northern urban community. Sonny, by contrast, is a romantic artist who is not
afraid of taking risks to pursue the things he desires. His passion for music makes
him impatient with everything else. He drops out of school; however, he does try
to stay away from danger. Sonny does want to live a respectable life without
corruption. He does several things to try to escape this corruption; he tries to
escape by joining the military, but fails. He tries to escape by using illicit drugs
and fails. When life seems to take a toll on Sonny he immerses himself in his music.
He realizes that his problems are real and that he can t truly escape them. Music
becomes his life as he plays to transform his pain and suffering into something
beautiful depicted in his jazz and blues music. Perhaps there is no way that we can
absolutely stay out of danger, like Sonny s father said, there is no safe place for
anyone (Baldwin 95). Sonny s music offers an outlet for expressing the darkness
within him while giving his life meaning.
In the pivotal scene of Sonny s Blues, the narrator agrees to go with Sonny to the
jazz nightclub. The narrator s realization that he must accept Sonny as he is sets the
stage for the narrator s first trip to the
Comparison Of Marxist Verxism And The Marxist Theory
And...
Marxist theory, developed by Karl Marx, is one of the radical law and criminal
justice theories which became popular in criminology in the United States during
the 1970 s. Though Marxist theory was opposed by many, its explanation of
criminal justice and law has a lot in common with conflict theory. Marxist theory
states that in capitalist societies, there are two classes of people within the society,
the bourgeoisie and the proletariat. The bourgeoisie is composed of those who
make the rules, while the proletariat class are to follow the rules that are made and
work. The ruling class uses the setup of the capitalist society to gain and retain
control of the political power. The bourgeoisie is able to use the political power to
sway laws in their favor that serves their interest. This leaves the working class
people to follow these laws which they have become oppressed by. According to
Akers et al. (2017), the only way for the proletariat to overcome the oppression put on
them by the bourgeoisie, they must over throw the capitalist society which hold them
down and establish a socialist system free of communism. Marxist theory holds that
the only way for the proletariat to gain power they must overthrow the government.
Richard Quinney s example of conflict theory suggests that the conflict between the
proletariat and the bourgeoisie is just due to the division between the two classes.
Akers et al. (2017) states that in the United States, individuals either belong to the
Animal Experimentation Is Unnecessary and Cruel Essay
Every year, millions of animals suffer through painful and unnecessary tests. Animals
in laboratories all over the world live lives of deprivation, pain, isolation, and torture.
Even though vast studies show that animal experimentation often lacks validity,
leading to harmful human reactions, we still continue to use this method of
experimentation, while many other less expensive and more beneficial alternatives
exist. Going beyond the issue of animal experimentation being morally wrong, this
form of research is also hindering medical progress. Although the use of animals in
laboratories is said to be necessary for the welfare and health of humans, people
mistakenly believe that this immoral and unscientific method of experimentation is...

Because of differences in animal and human anatomies, they respond to drugs in
different ways, proving test results done on animals to be inaccurate when applied to
humans. For this reason, animal experimentation has done little to produce any
definitive advances in medical research and has actually hindered medical progress. In
addition to the fact that animal experimentation is ineffective, unreliable, and costly,
testing on animals also violates animal rights. Do we think that just because we are
superior to animals that we have the right to subject these innocent creatures to cruel
and painful experiments? The superiority humans feel over animals may be the
reason why humans feel less troubled by inflicting pain on animals. Or perhaps
humans justify this cruel act by saying that animals would not be used in
experiments if their use was not absolutely necessary. The pain and misery these
animals are put through is absolutely unjustified, especially since the experiments
they are subject to are proven to be unnecessary and even pointless. As Ingrid
Newkirk states, animals in the laboratories are under constant stress from fear, the
loss of control over their lives, and the denial of all
Girsch 3 that is natural and meaningful to them, such as enjoying the company of
others of their own kind (Newkirk 2). Thousands of animals are put through the

Thin Red Line Analysis
Thin Red Line consisted of multiple narrators discussing the battle narrative and
varying characters perspectives especially in the sequences that we watched. We
are participating in the film during this war sequence with the camera often on a
track following behind the soldiers or with a Steadicam but the reality is a
handheld shot like we are running in the woods like a solider or we are following
the action. Other camera angles include single POV frames of soldiers and what
they are experiencing at that moment. Especially when the battle begins the
American soldiers have a heightened sense of sounds such as bullets whizzing by
their heads in the fog. These moments in the battle give a sense of fantasy
disembodiment and derangement for the soldiers during the chaos of the battle.
When the shots are firing there is a sense of chaos to the audience with the jump cut
shots that attempt to fill in the viewer of all the madness. There were multiple
single POV frames that would fill in the viewer of the soldier s reactions and facial
expressions after they were shot or shot at portraying the stress and anxiety during war
battles. Towards the end of the scene the camera angles consisted of American
soldiers looking down on the fallen and injured soldiers giving power to the white

In this method, an employee is interviewed so that he or she comes up with their own
working styles, problems faced by them, use of particular skills and techniques while
performing their job and insecurities and fears about their careers. In this method, the
job analyst directly interviews the job holder through a structured interview form to
elicit information about the job. This method is found suitable particularly for jobs
wherein direct observation is not feasible. However the interview method is both time
consuming and costly. Particularly, the professional and managerial jobs due to their
complicated nature of job, require a longer interview This may also be a possibility
that bias on the part of the analyst and the job holder i.e., the respondent may cloud
the accuracy and objectivity of the information gathered through interview.
Nonetheless, the effectiveness of the interview method will depend on the ability of
both interviewer and respondent in asking questions and responding them

The construction of the Skyline Plaza in Fairfax County came to a halt early in the

the crane assisting in lifting materials to the higher sections of the building failed and
fell into the side of the building causing the collapse. However, Author Dov

her mother raised the money, whereas Maggie has very little education. Their
personalities are a world apart. Dee is outgoing, spunky, and not afraid to say what
she is thinking. Maggie is shy and jealous of her sister, but she has a generous heart.
All though the sisters are different, their insecurities link them together in a unique

Language, Language And Gender
As we all know, language is a very important role in our daily life and everyone on
the planet uses a language. Language is used in so many ways. It is assigned to
every country, and usually every country has its own language which is very unique.
Whether one speaks or not, a language is still used, either verbal or sign language is
used. Now to note here, language is not used in the same form by gender. Gender
takes a huge role on language. Pronunciation and grammar are tended to be used very
differently by gender. Basically when it comes to language and gender there is a
different dialect between females and males in many countries and not just the United
States. There have been a number of languages recorded throughout the world that
have some sexdifferences (Bradley, 1988, p. 13). There have been many papers and
articles written on language and gender by different researchers. These researches,
include many from the book used in this class, are fascinated and interested about
the different language usage used between two different sexes. The papers in this
section reveal that there can be many different patterns of linguistic usage (Coates
Pichler, 2011, p. 10). In this paper I will be analyzing powerless language, usage
between females and males. I will also provide my study of interruption, overlap, and
swearing in a mixed gender conversation. My analyzation will consist of a thirty
minute conversation between four individuals.

Switzerland Legal System Essay
Switzerland s legal system is reliant on a civil law tradition and thus is dependent
on written codes which is held as a primary source for statements of law with
authority. Going back in history it is shown that civil law is composed of a group
of legal ideas and systems stemmed from a collection of fundamental works in
jurisprudence, cloaked by Napoleonic, Germanic, canonical, feudal and local
practises including doctrinal strains such as natural law, codification and legal
positivism. Swiss foreign policy has since 1815 been governed by the principle of
neutrality, so they did not support or aid either side to a conflict and remained
impartial during the first and second World War. England s law on the other hand
was made by judges sitting in courts thus known as common law so has become
more like Switzerland as legislation has stated to overtake judicial law making.
Their laws are seen to be dominated by statutory law, which generate general
principles and sets aside functional and procedural rules. Unlike the United
Kingdom judicial decisions are not rated as high. Switzerland is a federal union,
meaning civil procedure and the make up of the judiciary are governed by state law
of 26 cantons, in unifying the various cantonal rules enshrines the rights to take part
in decision making process s on Federals state level, having equal share in the central
legislator. Switzerland is also not a part of the European Union despite having strong
ties into the EU. Its legal

Linda Shoemaker and Steve Brett founded the Brett Family Foundation in 2000 to
invest in the creation of a more compassionate and just society. The Brett Family
Foundation originally had an annual grant making budget of $500,000 and an
endowment of $10 million. The Great Recession took our endowment down to
approximately $6.5 million, and we decreased our annual grant making budget to
$350,000. The Foundation is in the process of rebounding and currently has an
endowment of $9 million. This year s grant making budget is $462,000. The Brett

Named for the Liberty Bell, the think tank uses research and advocacy to promote
policies that help Colorado individuals and families access economic opportunities.
Meanwhile, in order to balance her long term goals with serving immediate local
needs, through the Brett Family Foundation, she continued to fund direct service
organizations supporting underserved communities, particularly disadvantaged youth
and their families.
Perhaps the most challenging part of being a philanthropist is the fact that you ll
have to turn down worthy applicants for funding. What I like the least about my form
of philanthropy is saying no, says Linda, particularly saying no to immediate needs,
because with my strategy, I m sacrificing the immediate needs. For Linda, supporting
long term policy change has meant watching as multi million dollar funding shortfalls
have forced her local schools to cut staff and programs.
To change this, as well as endowing the Brett Family Foundation with $10 million,
Linda wanted to establish a progressive think tank and policy institute that would
provide Colorado s policymakers, funders, nonprofits, and other decision makers with
research and analysis to help them promote effective public policies. It would be an
ambitious step in her journey as a philanthropist. And all this sprang from a sudden
and surprising financial windfall. An unexpected twist of
Principles And Tactics Of Negotiation
Being genuine and sincere in the communication with others is one of the most
important strategies available for resolving a conflict. As the article entitled
Principles and Tactics of Negotiation (2007) mentions, most of the basic principles of
negotiation were learned before kindergarten. Be polite. Be honest. Be considerate (p.
102). The same goes for all interactions involving a conflict. Collectively, both
sincerity and honesty are common expectations in nearly all forms of negotiation, but
is especially important in relationships of business. For example, the most people
wouldn t be interested in negotiating contracts that involves financial goals or money
if a negotiator has a poor reputation in doing business. Alternatively, if a negotiator
has a good reputation and the perceptionof them is sincere, their business is likely to
benefit from the influx of new client. A really good reference for this is the business
of veterinarian medicine.
Although every animal clinic relies on money to keep their doors open in order to
continue to treat animals in distress, veterinarians still have a responsibility to treat
pets with sincerity and compassion, in addition to providing appropriate medical
care. When a client brings their pet in for euthanasia, for instance, many veterinarians
and supporting staff demonstrate a cold demeanor since they do not want to show
express their emotions while at work. However, this behavior can be perceived as
uncaring or insincere,
How to Become a Coach Essay
Coaching, however challenging, is a great way to influence the lives of others while
also building their character. For as long as there have been sports, there have been
people teaching the sport to the players and making them better at it. Coaches must
have certain qualities in order to obtain success. One must also look at a coachs
motivation for his job, his passion for what he does, his methods for coaching, and
how he became a coachin order to fully understand him. There are many questions
someone may want to ask a coach about his profession if they are interested in
coaching. Some questions would include: Why did he choose this as a profession?
How did he get into coaching? What does one have to do to get a job as a coach? How

A major league baseball player would not decide to coach professional hockey after
his career, because that is not the field that he is knowledgeable in. Someone who
is interested in coaching would need to choose the sport he is most knowledgeable
and has the most experience in, in order to be a good coach. Out of my personal
experience, I would know most about football or baseball. My football background
reaches as far back as to when I was born. With my father being a football and
baseball coach, I was born into high expectations of playing both sports. I have
played football from the time I was six years old. I played baseball from the time I
was five years old to the time I was fifteen when I stopped playing my sophomore
year. I know that those would be the two sports I am most experienced in, so those
would be the two sports I would choose from in coaching.
Taking the time to reflect on why it is someone coaches is beneficial for personal
growth, and for creating an awareness of one s changes in motivation, which affects
behavior. Therefore, changes in motivation can be reflected in someone s behavior
and his or her well being. Those who feel that they are coaching because they want
to, will be successful, and feel that coaching allows them to acquire relationships
with their players, and display more motivation for coaching. Being aware of why
someone coaches their sport is an important part of reflective practice. One person s
The Use Of Ecstasy And Its Effects On Society
The definition of ecstasy, as defined by Google, is an overwhelming feeling of
great happiness or joyful excitement. It is no coincidence that a drug that releases
copious amounts of serotonin and dopamine is commonly referred to as ecstasy.
With a scientific name of 3,4 Methylenedioxy Methamphetamine (MDMA), ecstasy
is an illicit substance that is commonly used at some parties and dance clubs all
around the globe. The immediate effects of the drug cause one s blood pressure
and heart rate to rise to extremely dangerous levels, resulting in a realistic
possibility of death. Aside from these catastrophic, biological risks, this drug also
has a negative impact on social attitudes and relationships as it becomes increasingly
more acceptable among younger generations. However, while it is certainly growing
in popularity as time passes, its destructive long term effects do not gain the similar
attention. For those who escape the fatality of this drug, there then comes the risk of
impairing cognitive functions and altering the brain s ability to process memories.
The use of this devastating drug can be avoided by addressing and analyzing how the
substance is used in the first place.
Ecstasy may cause inefficient operations of cognition, which is broadly defined as the
product of all mental processes. According to a study by J.F. Golding et. al., cognitive
functions seem to suffer for current MDMA users. The researchers conducted a study
in which they tested light ecstasy users,
Essay about David Hume and Future Occurrences
Hume asked, quot;what reason do we have in thinking the future will resemble the
past? quot; It is reasonable to think that it will because there is no contradiction in
supposing the future won t resemble the past. But it is also true that is possible for
the world to change dramatically and our previous experience would be
completely useless in judging future experience. We want to say that past
experiences have been a good predictor. We are compelled to do so and it is almost as
if we can t help ourselves. But we are merely stating that in the past, it has been a
good predictor. Humesays we are begging the question. We are still in the past if we

As we are unable to define the anomaly that foots A to B, we are simply to view it
as a secret cause. It is even less clear when both objects are inward like will and
thought. What is the thing that glues the two together and are the two things even
that well defined.
When A and B are one or both ambiguous, how clear can we make the connection?
When we think about our inability to move all organs such as the heart with like
ability as we did when we willed our foot to move, we simply must concede that there
is no one action that causes both. We have again some secret unknown cause. We are
faced with yet another opportunity for doubt when
Hume s inductive skepticism is daunting for empiricism. We explain things using
causation, so what is causation? There is an idea that causation is a hidden
connection between things. It is unobservable, yet essential in the operation of
things. Hume justifies his account of necessary connection and causation by
accounting for irregularities as secret unknown causes. His talk merely mirrors
induction to justify itself.
Hume, being a defender of empiricism has an account for the mind as well. Hume
looks at two competing ideas about interpretations of the force and vivacity of
impressions of outward senses; the impression and the idea (a copy of the
impression). He starts by telling us that our perceptions, not ideas are
An Analysis Of Billy Joel s Song We Didn T Start The Fire
Billy Joel in his song We Didn t Start The Fire claims that the current generation, as of
the time the song was written, did not, in fact, start the fire. Thought the song many
events are listed until the chorus comes along again to remind the listener the they
did not start the fire. The fire in this song that Billy Joelspeaks of are crazy and
shocking events in the world not only being generally harmful to the public but
events that changed how people viewed things. The song s repetition of not starting
the fire, the lengthy lines used for verses that completely list events, and the listing
of events as opposed to common verses in an average song shows how they did not
start the fire and the fire had been going on for generations and... Show more content

With the song being so different from an average song, it makes the song feel
filled in the verses, with all of the events that he provides, in the short time that the
song plays. The song s verses are entirely evidence for Billy Joel s claim that the
fire had not been started by him or his group and with so many examples, there is
no time to put reasoning behind it but rather connect the ideas to the major point,
being the chorus. With so many examples one after another as the song continues
through its verses Billy Joel is listing as many examples as he can to prove the
point of the fire having been already started. As he lists these events he is pushing
forward so many examples against the argument without taking any look at another
side which shows how he is not only annoyed by the claim that he did start the fire
but also how he wants to push his side. With so much evidence being thrown at the
listener it s impossible to refute what he is saying. His strange verses being entirely
made up of listed evidence towards his claim, it supports his argument in a strange
and uncharacteristic way for an average

Formive And Formative Teacher Evaluation
The topic of teacher evaluation hinges on the interactions of two separate pairs of
variables. The first pair of those variables, formative and summative evaluation,
pertains to the actual evaluation itself, whereas the second pair, teachers and
administrators, involves the professionals who take part in the evaluation process.
The reader may recall from the preceding section that the prevailing literature contains
certain perspectives and recommendations with regard to evaluative practices that
encompass all of these factors. First, formative teacher evaluation ought to provide
teachers with the necessary feedback to improve their instruction, whereas summative
teacher evaluation, by contrast, represents an appraisal of a teacher s overall
professional competence (Seyfarth, 2008; Glickman, Gordon Ross Gordon, 2014).
Because the purposes of these two types of evaluation are so different, the
recommendation in the literature is that they ought to remain distinct and separate
from one another (Seyfarth, 2008; Marzano, 2012; Glickman, Gordon Ross Gordon,
2014). Nevertheless, prevailing practice appears to be trending in precisely the
opposite direction, where school districts and states instead employ a single
evaluation instrument, typically based on the Danielson Framework, to serve the
purposes of both formative and summative teacher evaluation concurrently ( PR
Newswire, 2011). Consequently, this study is designed to determine the degree to
which one specific

he is disguised as Sir Topas, a priest. This quote is directed to Malvolio who is
trapped in a dark room all alone. Even though Malvolio is not able to see Feste,
Feste dresses up as a priest anyway so he could better fit Sir Topas role. His

A Strange Act Of Violence
Although he appeared average and seeming to have the same dreams and
aspirations of his peers, Ted s mind was a far darker place than anyone could have
imagined prior to his incarceration and eventual conviction. At age three, Ted
demonstrated a strange act of violence to his fifteen year old aunt while she was
napping. Lifting her bed sheets, he placed three large kitchen knives beside her. She
recalls, He just stood there and grinned. I shooed him out of the room and took the
implements back down to the kitchen and told my mother about it. I remember
thinking at the time that I was the only one who thought it was strange. Nobody did
anything (Vronsky, 2004: 107).
In addition to his early patterns of violence, there was also a history of mental illness
in the family. This can usually mean that family members down the line are far more
likely to exhibit some of these same attributes. More than likely, these mental
problems found their way through heredity into Bundy s personality as well. An
example of mental instability within the family can be seen with his grandmother.
Late in her life, she expressed symptoms of psychosis. In order to treat this, she
underwent shock therapy. It is likely that the abuse she endured through her marriage
and that which Bundy was exposed to contributed to these problems.
While in college, Bundy recalls having walked past an open window where a young
woman was undressing. Taken with this event, he began deliberately seeking
Granite
What type of minerals are in granite? The minerals that are in granite are Feldspar,
Hornblende, Mica, Quartz, and Magnetite. These minerals are in granite because of
their color, hardness, streak, luster and their break. These properties are helpful for
identifying if the mineral is a part of granite or if it not a part of granite.
Many minerals are apart of other rocks just like granite. Granite consists of some
minerals like Hornblende and Feldspar. Hornblende is a mineral apart of granite that
is black, dark green, and brown. The mineral has a streak of a white, grayish color.
The reason that Hornblende is apart of granite is because a scratch test was done
on the parts of the granite sample that are the same color as hornblende, the streak
on those parts of the granite sample were the exact same color as the Hornblende
streak, therefore Hornblende is apart of granite. Feldspar is a mineral that is also
apart of granite, Feldspar is white, pink and gray. Feldspar has a streak of the color
white and is considered nonmetallic. Feldspar is a mineral is granite because the
granite sample is mostly consisting of the color pink. These two minerals are only

The Pros And Cons Of Wasted Food
Americans throw away billions of pounds of food, worth billions of dollars and
enough to feed millions of people each year. Wasted food is the single largest
component of American landfills. Every year, around 40 percent of all food goes
unconsumed in the United States. This amounts to Americans squandering as much
as $218 billion annually growing, processing and transporting foodthat never gets
eaten. That is a fairly large waste of resources considering all that freshwater and
land, all that fertilizer and energy used was for nothing. Washington Post . Even
Europe does a better job of curtailing food waste and food waste in Europe alone
could feed 200 million hungry people! Food waste is often described as a farm to
fork problem because produce is lost in fields, warehouses, packaging, distribution,
supermarkets, restaurants and fridges. Why? We purchase too many food products,
our eyes are bigger than our stomachs, and we buy what is not expected. One of the
many reasons Americans have a big amount of food waste every year comes right
from the source: farming. Farming is a major contributor to food waste in the United
Statesfor different reasons. According to the Washington Post, Roughly 7 percent
of the produce that s grown in the United States simply gets stranded on fields each
year. When it comes to farming, there are many ways produce may get wasted. To
begin, some growers plant more crops than there is demand for to hedge against
disease and weather, which can create a surplus of crops. By the same token,
produce often goes unpicked because it does not meet standards for its looks shape,
color or weight. At times, perfectly fine crops go unharvested after food safety
warnings are announced by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration). Immigration
laws can also have an impact on food waste by creating a shortage of farmworkers,
leaving produce to go unpicked. After crops have been harvested and gathered from
the fields, farmers tend to cull produce to make sure it meets minimum standards for
its looks. In the end, around 30 percent of produce that is actually harvested and
picked from farms never actually reaches supermarkets due to trimming, quality
selection, and failure to meet cosmetic
The Spa Centers And Its Effects On The United States

Did you know that there are approximately 15000 spas in the United States alone?
Not many people know that a spa has a variety of beneficial health effects
attributed to it. Spa centers date back to thousands of years ago being more
popular among the Romans. A spa was mostly used for medicinal purposes in the
past but has gained popularity in recent times for being more associated with
beauty. A spa typically incorporates various procedures like, body scrubs, facials,
and massages in order to provide the ultimate all round relief to the body. Spas have
evolved throughout the years by adding various features to their structures so as to
provide the optimum experience one can get.
A spa center is simply referred to as a venue whereby, professional services are
offered in order to provide a well being to the body and mind of an individual. A lot
of factors are put into consideration when it comes owning a spa. Due to cut throat
competition, spa centers have come up with innovative ways to attract more
customers. Personal trainers and yoga classes have become a favorite among the
ever growing clientele. They have become a safe haven for most women while at
the same time offering some kind of therapy. Going to the spa has become a
common phenomenon especially among women as it is seen as a break away from
family life.
There are many features that are contained in a spa center. The most common being a
sauna, steam bath, salon, massage rooms, and a fitness center. These

What is Crown Lengthening
Crown lengthening is a common oral surgery performed by a periodontist. The
procedure involves the removal of gum tissue, bone, or both to expose more of the

Crown lengthening may be done to restore damaged teeth, insert a dental crown, or
for cosmetic reasons. Teeth that are severely damaged due to tooth decay, trauma or

A Comparison Of Shakespeare In High School
Shakespeare In this essay I will be arguing that shakespeare should be taught in High
School. In my opinion, I think that William Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet in the
9th grade curriculum should be taught because it relates to teenagers during this part
of their life as they are going thru love, jealously, and ect.. The three topics of which
teenagers begin to experience during the beginning of their High Schooleducation. As
William Shakespeareonce said, Nice and easy does it; those that run too fast will fall
. Just like 9th graders wanting to experience it all too fast without understanding
what Shakespeare is trying to get across to the reader. In these paragraph i have
how shakespeare relates to teenagers feeling at this age. In my other paragraph i
will be explaining how William became famous all over the world. My third
paragraph with be an counter argument. I will be talking to u about william
shakespeare and how it relate to teenagers feelings. I will now show you two
quotes that ties back to me argument that shakespeare should be taught in school.
William says in romeo and juliet Did my heart love till now? Forswear it sight! For
I ne er saw true beauty till this night. This is an example of love, this shows how
people feel when they first see that one girl that has taken there heart. This ties back
to some teenagers because when they first go into high school they see that one girl
that they have dream about and they will do anything to see her

The Gilded And Progressive Eras

Reforming America
The gilded and progressive eras in America were times of expansion, urbanization,
and what seemed like a golden pathway to an industrialized future. In the 1850s,
railroads were being built all across America, and with that came the rise of the
steel and oil industries, as well as dramatic population increases in the newly
urbanized cities. Such a change in society created a gap between social classes
causes incredible amounts of poverty for many, and incredible wealth for few. Three
main struggles during this crucial time in America were political corruption, the rapid
expansion of urban cities, and the unfair, and unsafe working conditions. Through
these difficult times, many different types of reform were supported, but few were
actually effective. One of the largest problems facing Americans during the gilded age
and progressive era was political corruption. The late 1800s and early 1900s were
filled with political machines such as George Plunkitt and James Gillespie Blaine.
Plunkitt was known as the leader of Tammany Hall, an Irish based organization that
was heavy in politics during the 19th century. Politicians affiliated with Tammany
Hall would provide jobs, money or other favors and in return would receive
government favors. Although Plunkitt believed he was doing no wrong, many
Americans saw this as taking the patronage system for granted. During an interview,
Plunkitt said, I
Michel Foucault Panopticism
Panopticism is a social theory named after the Panopticon, originally developed by
French philosopher Michel Foucault. The panopticon refers to an experimental
laboratory of power in which behaviour could be modified, and Foucault viewed
the panopticon as a symbol of the disciplinary society of surveillance. (Foucault pg.

day society. It has been modernized into using security cameras, religion, etc....
Most security cameras are just for show and not to actually record you or they are
on and operating, but rarely anyone is watching. With these in place, people will self
regulate their behavior so they will not get caught. Security cameras have been used

Similarities Between Ancient Greek And American
Education
Education in ancient Greece has heavily influenced education in modern day
America. Many leaders and philosophers in ancient Greece impacted education then,
as well as for many generations to come. Similarities between education then and
education now, in America, are many. While there are many similarities, there are
also quite a few differences. Regardless, it is valuable to understand where some of
our ideas, philosophies, and educational focus stems from.
Some educational philosophers in Ancient Greece did important things. A philosopher
named Thales had done geometrical research and that was how he had measured
pyramids. In Ancient Greece there was another philosopher named Parmenides of
Elea. He had pointed out the endless variety and ... Show more content on

In Ancient Greece they have boys going to school and in the modern day America
boys still go to school. Another similarity from Ancient Greece that we have today
is that they wrote just about anything and still in Modern day America we do write
a lot. In Ancient Greece they learned music and art. We too, in America still learn
music and art. There are several differences in education from modern day America
and Ancient Greece. Girls in Ancient Greece did not always go to school. In
modern day America, almost all the girls go to school. Boys in Ancient Greece had
a much different curriculum than what we have in schools now. In Ancient Greece
girls had to be taught how to do stuff at home by their mother and in modern day
America we are taught stuff by our teachers. What the boys learned to do back then,
was how to fight. Now in modern day America boys are not being taught how to fight.
In Ancient Greece they learned writing, reading, and how to fight but our modern
day American schools have improved. In modern day education has grown to
include boy and girl also there are more subjects that are studied such as history and
science. Ancient Greece education did not have laptops or technology as we have
today in modern day America. modern day America reading is different that reading
in Ancient Greece we have more word invented and they used different tools than
what we use
A League Of Their Own Narrative Analysis
This section employs narrative analysis to the story A League of Their Own in
order to highlight the moral of the film that women have a choice over their future
and do not have to be stay at home mothers. Once again, a story needs a plot with a
beginning, middle, and end (Sellnow, 2014, p. 60). Dottie and Kit s story begins in
the small farm town where they work at the dairy and play ball for fun. During a
game, a recruiter takes notice of Dottie, then from there, Dottie and Kit s baseball
career takes off. Their upward progression proves that anything is possible. Tensions
run high between sisters Dottie and Kit. Kit hates how good Dottie is at baseball and
does not believe that Dottie wants to even be on the team. All the while, Dottie does
not understand Kit s frustration. Dottie tells Mr. Lowenstein she is leaving if she is
not put on another team. Instead, Kit gets put on another team.
The climax of the story is reached, Dottie and Kit have a critical conversation where
they share their true feelings with one another. It is at this moment that Dottie
realizes she really does not know why she is still in the league. In relevance to the
moral, Kit is expressive about her love for baseball, while Dottie seems to detach
herself. She knows that when her husband comes back from the Army, she must go
back to him because, sticking to the bandwagon, Dottie believes she should remain a
housewife. Meanwhile, Kit does trust this outlook on life and she accepts the view
that she can choose a different course for her life. During this confrontation, the
audience is able to see the split of ideals of what one s life should reflect. They can
see that Dottie is stuck in the mindset of staying home and raising children, while Kit
is up to date with modern society by understanding that there is so much more to her
life than what society says she should be.
In examination of the text, one of the first steps is to describe the setting (Sellnow,
2014, p. 55). The story takes place in a small farm town in Oregon where no one
really makes anything of themselves. Dottie and Kit leave this setting to demonstrate
that taking chances and following one s dreams can make their life great. Dottie and
Kit go against the norm of
David Suzuki Diversity Is Strength
Pluralistic superiority is a pervasive concept existing in a significant portion of the
Westernized world, enforcing the notion that multi cultural, multi ethnic, and multi
national ideologies are inextricably related with societal and economic progress,
exemplified by the myopic and unsubstantiated quotation Diversity is Strength from
the current incumbent of Canada s position of prime minister. The fundamental issue
with this perspective is its inability to properly process anterior information related to
alternate states, and the orthodox prerequisites involved in the ascension of relevant
nation states by creating such an axiomatic statement which purportedly embodies the
quixotic goals of a state. As a method of responding to the notion... Show more

An intrinsic issue related to David Suzuki s postulation that diversity of all variants is
useful to the perpetuation of the is his intentional disregard for the biological notion
of conflict within ecosystems, specifically pertaining to invasive species and the
ecosystems (and entities inhabiting the ecosystem) which are the recipients of said
invasion; if a species is relocated to an ecosystem and possesses traits which
fundamentally do not align with the synergistic and symbiotic nature of the
ecosystem , there exists a ubiquitous consequence for the denizens who are
accustomed to the relatively static nature of their environment. The socio cultural
correlation, related to the biological notion of ecosystem equilibrium, is the
introduction of individuals who possess fundamental disagreements with the
predominant ethical and moral perspectives of the majority of inhabitants; this,
historically, results in the amplifications of tension between the two groups (primary
inhabitants and incompatibly invasive) and the inexorable suppression (this has a
propensity to manifest in both active and passive assimilation or the relocation of the
minority into a specific region) of the incompatibly invasive or the disintegration of
the primary inhabitants social structure . Present within both a biological and socio
cultural structure is compatibility within an ecosystem, and operating within the
confines of such permits a higher degree of success when approaching multi
culturalism, but attempting to implement the unrestricted proliferation of any species
or culture within an environment, as proselytized by David Suzuki, is not functional.
An example of such would be introducing the Andean bear into the environment of
the Asiatic black bear, in
Comparing The American Zoo And Aquariums
One of the many things people go to for fun while growing up is going to a zoo or
an aquarium. Whether it s with their family during the summer, or during the
school year in elementary with the entire class. It s a way to have a good time with
friends and family and also a way to learn more about certain species and their
averments. In North American 140 Million people visit zoos annually: that s more
than baseball, basketball, football, and hockey combined. At a global scale that 700
million people! However, there are still many people that believe that zoos and
aquariums are plain and simply unethical. This is not true because many zoos across
the country have been known to contribute in the saving of endangered species, and

People will say that they don t treat them right in zoos, and that they don t have
enough rooms to roam around, but zookeepers and scientists give all the animals
specific training, exercise and food to meet their nutritional requirements. Zoos
may actually more beneficial for some of the animals because they don t have
competition. Greco say in his article, In the wild, food resources are temporally
and spatially dispersed this means that it may be hard to find food hasn t already
been eating or that isn t too far away. Next, exercise plans have been implanted
especially for elephants to reduce pod dermatitis, a bone disease they are generally
prone to and also elephants tend to be obese. To prevent this they teach elephants
to stretch and staff directed walking. (Greco 3) Moreover, staff are required to give
good hygiene to most animals in the zo to prevent any diseases and funguses. This
shows the amazing care zoos give the animals to give them a healthy lifestyle. In
conclusion, zoos and aquariums are important in many ways. One being fo the
education of students, two being the help they give animals that are endangered,
and three is the fact they give good care the animals so they will be in a good
healthy condition. Although zoos haven t always been as great as they now, they
have change in positive way. So, perhaps people should also
Social And Social Changes In Japan During The Tokugawa
Period
Firstly, Japan s political structure was transformed to really large extent during the
Meiji era as it brought about changes such as in the manner of governing the people,
parliament structure as well as the reform in policies that the Japanese were forced to
sign with the Western powers such as the United States of America and Great Britain.
During the Tokugawa period the Emperor Meiji limited the power of the samurai
removing exclusive rights such as their right to punish commoners and he also
removed their right to be the only armed force in Japan, in favour of westernized
military with several different armed sections. In addition, the Emperor sent scholars
to Britain, France and Germany to study their parliament as well as study the way
these Western nations operated. Eventually the Emperor appointed Ito Hirobumi to
select an adequate constitution for the new empire of Japan.... Show more content on

Education was a main social system that changed during modernization. In the Edo
period, school was only for children of people in higher classes. Now it was
mandatory for all children to take. In 1871, the Japanese government established a
Ministry of Education. It was designed to break down class identities which helped
raise the standard of living in Japan. In 1884 an important man named Mori Arinori
became the Minister of Education for Japan. He restructured the school system which
stayed in place for sixty years. As well, he established the Imperial University which
was later renamed the Tokyo University. These changes that were made influenced
people all over Japan. The government believed that Japan would become a more
powerful country if their citizens were educated. The government taught values such
as national identity and loyalty to the Emperor. This helped unite Japan and make
them a stronger
Relationships Are An Important Part Of Human Existence
Relationships are an important part of human existence. To survive, we must build
these connections. They consume every facet of our lives. We encounter many
different relationships in our lifetime. We are a sibling, friend, parent, child, co
worker, spouse, lover and many more. It is a part of who we are and how we relate
to the world around us. It is how we develop and nurture these relationships that
make the difference in our lives. Relationships are complicated, but can be
rewarding when all parties are seeking the same goal. We learn to balance our
interactions and seek to find a way of fitting them into our everyday lives. The best
relationships are ones that are built on mutual trust, understanding, and respect for
each other. When they don t work out, we may feel a sense of failure or sadness.
They are often hard to let go of, even if they are dysfunctional and unhealthy for us
and the people we are surrounded by. In Learning to Fall , there are multiple
relationships being described. Ruth is a single mother who is doing her best to
raise her young son Andrew and keep a positive outlook on life. The relationship she
has with her son is nurturing and loving. Andrew is striving to become independent
and resents his mother being too mushy, especially in front of other people. What
makes this a bit more complicated and special, is the fact that Andrew was born with
disabilities. Ruth also has a friendship with the narrator. The two women appear close
and seem to
The Limits Of Trash-Talking On The Field
Trash talking is part of many sports where the team indulges in verbal sparring or
verbal jousting with their rivals to gain a psychological advantage over them. They
speak some nasty things to each other on the field. It can be innocuous to a degree.
Trash talk happening on the field is acceptable and it is considered as part of the
sport. It involves belittling, passing demeaning comments, degrading opponents and
other vilifying remarks targeted at the opponents. However, it is a professional sport
and there are certain limits. They are employed legally and paid by their employers.
They have the obligation to conduct themselves with dignity and respect in public.

Generational Differences Between Baby Boomers And
Millennials
Today, the workforce is made up of many different generations, which is affecting
and effectively changing the workplace culture as a whole. The major generational
differences between millennials and baby boomers can be either positive or
negative depending on whom you ask. Boomers may categorize millennials as lazy
and entitled, while millennials may call themselves innovative. No matter what they
call themselves or each other, they all have to work together now as simply as that.
This topic has sparked a lot of discussion as to how it s best for each generationto act
and deal with their other generational coworkers.
Workplace culture is the way your company operates and the personality it possesses.
A Forbes article stated three ways to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Companies need new strategies to utilize the strengths of each employee. Once
boomers do retire there will be a large void in the workforce since there is so many
of them. This will create another change in business culture because younger people
will be needed to fill those spots.
All of these situations are becoming more and more common in the new workforce.
In order for a business to run smoothly all of the workers, managers and
subordinates need to be able to find common ground to accomplish the set tasks.
There is no avoiding your coworkers so this is inevitable.
I don t see the change of culture to stop anytime soon. I believe that people will
continue to develop new ideas to make things easier and faster. There are also more
generations entering the workforce, and while one may think that they are similar
because they know technology they are all vastly different. The old saying of turning
into your mother/father may come true for the millennials as they become older in
the workforce. I can see there always being disagreements among different
generations because each thinks that their way is better. Still, people will obviously
need to learn to work together and adjust to different generational
The Article Is Titled “Communication Modality
Sampling
The article is titled Communication Modality Sampling for a Toddler with Angelman
Syndrome by Jolene Hyppa Martin, Joe Reichle, Adele Dimian, and Mo Chen. The
authors explored three modes of communication, vocal, gestural, and graphic, with a
young child with Angelman syndrome. The researchers investigated which modeof
communicationwould be the most effective and efficient for the child.
Angelman syndrome can cause cognitive, communication, and physical disabilities. It
is a disorder that affects around 1 in 10,000 births and for the majority of the cases,
the cause is genetic. Angelman syndrome can be caused by an abnormality in
chromosome 15. Previous research on Angelman syndrome and the different
communication modes is lacking. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This symbol is taught in gestural, graphic, and vocal mode. The modality sampling
has many advantages, one of the most important being that it provides important
intervention resources.
The main purpose of this study was to compare the efficacy of graphic and gestural
modes of communication with a toddler with Angelman syndrome (Martin, Reichle,
Dimian, Chen, 2013). The participant was Adam, a 21 month old male with
Angelman syndrome. Before the study started, Adam was assessed in
communication, cognition, and fine and gross motor skills. Adam did not engage in
vocal imitation or turn taking. His mother reported that Adam would sometimes
vocalize to get her attention, he would also protest, request, and express excitement.
Adam s fine motor skills were delayed, but he had adequate movements to produce
gestures for the study.
Before the sessions started, the three researchers went through a role play training.
This was done to increase reliability and interobserver agreement between the
researchers. The 44 sessions occurred at the participant s house or at his day care
center. The first session was a baseline probe and the rest of the sessions were
divided into five phases. The sessions were held two times per week for five months.
The materials for the study included three objects or activities that Adam liked or
Benefits And Benefits Of Employee Satisfaction
Benefits play a major role towards employee satisfaction and how they behave in an
organization. Employee satisfaction is necessary for the success of any organization.
Keeping employee satisfaction should be a priority for every employer. There are
many reasons why an employee can become discouraged with their jobs. Some
include: lack of communication within the organization, high stress levels, lack of
recognition, or limit opportunity for growth.

The number of sick days can be based on the years with the organization and how
high they stand with the organization. Paid personal days are time taken off from
work that the organization provides employees. The number of days is the same as
sick days which was your standing level with organization and how long they have
been with them. These days can be used for voting, conferences, and even going to
a healthcare professional. The paid personal days are paid at the employee s normal
base salary. Bereavement time is even under PTO. It is granted for attending funerals
and burials, making funeral arrangements, dealing with possessions and wills of the
deceased, and for paying respect to a family at visitation. You are usually given three
days of this time for an immediate family member and one day for other relatives or
friends. Organizations can give additional unpaid days if necessary. Immediate family
members include: spouse, parents, grandparents, children, grandchildren, and siblings.
Another benefit offered among organizations is the 401k retirement plan. It is a plan
for employees to accumulate retirement income and is the most flexible type of
retirement plan. It shows that the employers care about and value your employees
with a means for them to plan their future and encourages employees to save for
retirement. It has tax advantages for both employers and employees including tax
deferred growth for the employee and tax deductible advantages for the
Anti Hispanic Racism In America
When Americans think of racism, they usually think of slavery, and that racism is
no longer a problem in America. However, this is not the case. Racism is still
obvious in America. Racism can be linked directly to stereotypical mindsets of
certain groups of people. Today s racism is not restricted to whites and blacks, and
it has come to define many different groups and races. Pigmentation as well as
physical characteristics and features still are influential for classifying people. It is
easy to overlook the racism that hides below the surface and is part of American life.
Today, an estimate 54 million Latinos live in the U.S. and around 43 million people
speak Spanish. Although Latinos are the country s largest minority, anti Latino
prejudice is still common. Very few Americans recognize, acknowledge, and respect
the contributions of one of America s greatest ethnic groups Hispanics. Americans are
often confused as to who Hispanics really are and what they represent in America.
Although the United Statesis known for having a melting pot of diverse cultures,
recent studies have shown the rise of discrimination against Latinos and Hispanics
immigrants. A person s legal status should not be an excuse for mistreatment.
Civil rights have been the example of our constitutional history. How we treat and
respect others has been the foundation of American democracy, yet despite this
constitutional and moral obligation, modern day anti Hispanic racism continues to
define who we
Career Goals For The Hospitality Industry
Five years ago was when I knew I wanted to work within the hospitality industry.
This was the time in my life where I came to the realization that this fun and
entertaining industry was a place where I could develop a career. Every since this
time in my life I have been creating goals for my career and steps to achieve these
goals. One of these steps to achieving a successful career includes attending a
university to study hospitality. This step has brought me to this point, where I am
creating goals specifically for this course. I believe creating these goals will put me
in a position to better succeed. I know being successful in this course is important
because the information taught will help me in achieving my career goals.
Through travel and hospitality related experiences in my life I have created two
major goals for my career. My first trip to Las Vegas was the time when my first
major career goal was established. By walking through each hotel I could easily see
that each place had a different style and way of operating. Observing these
examples allowed me to determine which hotel/resort or company would be the best
to work for. MGM s Aria Resort and Casino has always stuck out to me as a well
running, high class establishment; the workers are professional, but friendly and the
atmosphere is comforting while keeping up with the modern times. With this said,
one of my goals is to be employed by the Aria. Although, knowing how competitive
this industry can be, I would
Teacher Housing Research Paper
The topic of teacher housing has been circulating around Mills High School recently.
With the polls, the petition, and the news, most of the student body has heard of this
controversial issue. The school board s new proposal to allow teachers to live on
campus has already been shot down by many students for countless reasons. They
intend on building 140 housing units and rearranging sports facilities to
accommodate the staff. There are numerous cons to the idea and hardly any benefits.
Teacher housing should not be allowed on the campus of Mills High Schoolbecause
of the potential dangers, inconvenience, and unreasonable sources of funding, which
would negatively impact both students and teachers.

Imagine going to school everyday and enjoying learning. Then think of how you
would feel if you found out that your beloved school would be sold. To receive
enough money to execute the plan to build on campus houses, the San Mateo Union
High School District intends on selling Peninsula High School, the only alternative
school in the district. This school has been especially designed students who need
accommodations for their educational, behavioral, or medical needs. If over two
hundred of these students are displaced, they will suddenly have no school to attend.
Their education will be affected as they will be forced to transfer to a school with a
traditional environment that does not meet their needs. Students who are having a
difficult time at school may no longer be able to appreciate learning and going to
school, making it harder for them to succeed. If the district were to sell Peninsula
High regardless of using profit to build housing, the money could go towards better
causes that benefit students such as adding more electives, purchasing lab equipment
needed in the science department, and improving the school s technology. It is simply
illogical and senseless to take money away from students education in order to assist
teachers with commute and

Persuasive Essay On Teenage Driving Driving down the highway, heading to the movies with three of your best friends in the car singing along to your favorite song; what better way to spend a Friday night. The car in front of you slams on their breaks; but you didn t notice, you were looking over at your friend, singing and laughing. Suddenly, the lives of four teenagers hang in the balance, dependent on the skill and reaction time of one inexperienced teen driver. This scenario is far too common when reviewing the safety of teenage drivers. Currently, Florida is one of five states in the country that has no restriction on the number of teenage passengers in a car driven by a teenage driver ( Teenagers ). As adults, parents, and members of our community, we need to band together and encourage Florida lawmakers to impose restrictions on the number of passengers under the age of 20 in vehicles driven by teenage drivers. By doing so we not only protect the safety of our children but also innocent passengers and fellow motorists. Fourteen states, including Georgia, Indiana, West Virginia, and California prohibit any passengers under the age of twenty for the first six months of driving and lessen the restriction, allowing one passenger under the age of twenty after that ( Teenagers ). Statistics on teenage driving accidents and deaths are alarming. According to 2012 statistics released by the National Center for Health Statistics, 60% of passenger vehicle deaths were teens ages 13 19, 54% of the deaths of teenage

The Sheep Herders had a strong understanding of medical skills. Which they used their medical skills on dogs and other animals. From 4000 3000 BC the Egyptians took earlier medical skills and made further advancements. The historical records show how they used herbs to treat and promote good health in tamed animals. Then in 3000 BC Urlugaledinna lived in Mesopotamia and was considered an expert on healing animals. In 1761 Claude Bourgelat founded a veterinary school in Lyon, France. In 1785 the British veterinary profession began. Veterinarians used to be mainly for horses then evolved to cattle, livestock than dogs and now companion and exotic animals. Baldwin s choice of Sonny s brother as a narrator is what makes Sonny s Blues significant in terms of illustrating the relationship and emotional complications of Sonny and his brother. The significance of Sonny s Blues lies in the way Sonny s brother describes their relationship based on what he observes, hears, and feels, and how he struggles trying to understand Sonny through the course of the story. • 10. Comparison Of Marxist Verxism And The Marxist Theory And... Marxist theory, developed by Karl Marx, is one of the radical law and criminal justice theories which became popular in criminology in the United States during the 1970 s. Though Marxist theory was opposed by many, its explanation of criminal justice and law has a lot in common with conflict theory. Marxist theory states that in capitalist societies, there are two classes of people within the society, the bourgeoisie and the proletariat. The bourgeoisie is composed of those who make the rules, while the proletariat class are to follow the rules that are made and work. The ruling class uses the setup of the capitalist society to gain and retain control of the political power. The bourgeoisie is able to use the political power to sway laws in their favor that serves their interest. This leaves the working class people to follow these laws which they have become oppressed by. According to Akers et al. (2017), the only way for the proletariat to overcome the oppression put on them by the bourgeoisie, they must over throw the capitalist society which hold them down and establish a socialist system free of communism. Marxist theory holds that the only way for the proletariat to gain power they must overthrow the government. Richard Quinney s example of conflict theory suggests that the conflict between the proletariat and the bourgeoisie is just due to the division between the two classes. Akers et al. (2017) states that in the United States, individuals either belong to the

Because of differences in animal and human anatomies, they respond to drugs in different ways, proving test results done on animals to be inaccurate when applied to humans. For this reason, animal experimentation has done little to produce any definitive advances in medical research and has actually hindered medical progress. In addition to the fact that animal experimentation is ineffective, unreliable, and costly, testing on animals also violates animal rights. Do we think that just because we are superior to animals that we have the right to subject these innocent creatures to cruel and painful experiments? The superiority humans feel over animals may be the reason why humans feel less troubled by inflicting pain on animals. Or perhaps humans justify this cruel act by saying that animals would not be used in experiments if their use was not absolutely necessary. The pain and misery these animals are put through is absolutely unjustified, especially since the experiments they are subject to are proven to be unnecessary and even pointless. As Ingrid Newkirk states, animals in the laboratories are under constant stress from fear, the loss of control over their lives, and the denial of all Girsch 3 that is natural and meaningful to them, such as enjoying the company of others of their own kind (Newkirk 2). Thousands of animals are put through the suffering and torture of ridiculous experiments

It is assigned to every country, and usually every country has its own language which is very unique. Whether one speaks or not, a language is still used, either verbal or sign language is used. Now to note here, language is not used in the same form by gender. Gender takes a huge role on language. Pronunciation and grammar are tended to be used very differently by gender. Basically when it comes to language and gender there is a different dialect between females and males in many countries and not just the United States. There have been a number of languages recorded throughout the world that have some sexdifferences (Bradley, 1988, p. 13). Going back in history it is shown that civil law is composed of a group of legal ideas and systems stemmed from a collection of fundamental works in jurisprudence, cloaked by Napoleonic, Germanic, canonical, feudal and local practises including doctrinal strains such as natural law, codification and legal positivism. Swiss foreign policy has since 1815 been governed by the principle of neutrality, so they did not support or aid either side to a conflict and remained impartial during the first and second World War. As the article entitled Principles and Tactics of Negotiation (2007) mentions, most of the basic principles of negotiation were learned before kindergarten. Be polite. Be honest. Be considerate (p. 102). The same goes for all interactions involving a conflict. Collectively, both sincerity and honesty are common expectations in nearly all forms of negotiation, but is especially important in relationships of business. For example, the most people wouldn t be interested in negotiating contracts that involves financial goals or money if a negotiator has a poor reputation in doing business. Alternatively, if a negotiator has a good reputation and the perceptionof them is sincere, their business is likely to benefit from the influx of new client. A really good reference for this is the business of veterinarian medicine. Although every animal clinic relies on money to keep their doors open in order to continue to treat animals in distress, veterinarians still have a responsibility to treat pets with sincerity and compassion, in addition to providing appropriate medical care. When a client brings their pet in for euthanasia, for instance, many veterinarians and supporting staff demonstrate a cold demeanor since they do not want to show express their emotions while at work. However, this behavior can be perceived as uncaring or insincere,

Hume justifies his account of necessary connection and causation by accounting for irregularities as secret unknown causes. His talk merely mirrors induction to justify itself. Hume, being a defender of empiricism has an account for the mind as well. • 29. Formive And Formative Teacher Evaluation The topic of teacher evaluation hinges on the interactions of two separate pairs of variables. The first pair of those variables, formative and summative evaluation, pertains to the actual evaluation itself, whereas the second pair, teachers and administrators, involves the professionals who take part in the evaluation process. The reader may recall from the preceding section that the prevailing literature contains certain perspectives and recommendations with regard to evaluative practices that encompass all of these factors. First, formative teacher evaluation ought to provide teachers with the necessary feedback to improve their instruction, whereas summative teacher evaluation, by contrast, represents an appraisal of a teacher s overall professional competence (Seyfarth, 2008; Glickman, Gordon Ross Gordon, 2014). Because the purposes of these two types of evaluation are so different, the recommendation in the literature is that they ought to remain distinct and separate from one another (Seyfarth, 2008; Marzano, 2012; Glickman, Gordon Ross Gordon, 2014). Nevertheless, prevailing practice appears to be trending in precisely the opposite direction, where school districts and states instead employ a single evaluation instrument, typically based on the Danielson Framework, to serve the purposes of both formative and summative teacher evaluation concurrently ( PR Newswire, 2011). Consequently, this study is designed to determine the degree to which one specific

(4.2.37 41). This quote comes from Feste, but during this comment he is disguised as Sir Topas, a priest. This quote is directed to Malvolio who is trapped in a dark room all alone. Even though Malvolio is not able to see Feste, Feste dresses up as a priest anyway so he could better fit Sir Topas role. His costume is unnecessary in the situation, so he is somewhat deluding himself to believe he is Sir Topas in order to better deceive Malvolio. While he is speaking to Malvolio, the room that he Malvolio is in is dark, but Feste uses his trickery to convince Malvolio that the room is actually not dark. Sir Topas is telling Malvolio that the room he is in, is full of windows and the room is brightly lit but Malvolio is possessed. Since the words are coming from a priest, Malvolio believes Feste, and is convinced that he has gone mad. Consequently, Feste is truly able to delude people with the help of his mental and physical

A Strange Act Of Violence Although he appeared average and seeming to have the same dreams and aspirations of his peers, Ted s mind was a far darker place than anyone could have imagined prior to his incarceration and eventual conviction. At age three, Ted demonstrated a strange act of violence to his fifteen year old aunt while she was napping. Lifting her bed sheets, he placed three large kitchen knives beside her. She recalls, He just stood there and grinned. I shooed him out of the room and took the implements back down to the kitchen and told my mother about it. I remember thinking at the time that I was the only one who thought it was strange. Nobody did anything (Vronsky, 2004: 107). In addition to his early patterns of violence, there was also a history of mental illness in the family. This can usually mean that family members down the line are far more likely to exhibit some of these same attributes. More than likely, these mental problems found their way through heredity into Bundy s personality as well. An example of mental instability within the family can be seen with his grandmother. Late in her life, she expressed symptoms of psychosis. In order to treat this, she underwent shock therapy. It is likely that the abuse she endured through her marriage and that which Bundy was exposed to contributed to these problems. While in college, Bundy recalls having walked past an open window where a young woman was undressing. Taken with this event, he began deliberately seeking

These minerals are in granite because of their color, hardness, streak, luster and their break. These properties are helpful for identifying if the mineral is a part of granite or if it not a part of granite. Many minerals are apart of other rocks just like granite. Granite consists of some minerals like Hornblende and Feldspar. Hornblende is a mineral apart of granite that is black, dark green, and brown. The mineral has a streak of a white, grayish color. The reason that Hornblende is apart of granite is because a scratch test was done on the parts of the granite sample that are the same color as hornblende, the streak on those parts of the granite sample were the exact same color as the Hornblende streak, therefore Hornblende is apart of granite. Feldspar is a mineral that is also apart of granite, Feldspar is white, pink and gray. Feldspar has a streak of the color white and is considered nonmetallic. • 33. The Pros And Cons Of Wasted Food Americans throw away billions of pounds of food, worth billions of dollars and enough to feed millions of people each year. Wasted food is the single largest component of American landfills. Every year, around 40 percent of all food goes unconsumed in the United States. This amounts to Americans squandering as much as $218 billion annually growing, processing and transporting foodthat never gets eaten. That is a fairly large waste of resources considering all that freshwater and land, all that fertilizer and energy used was for nothing. Washington Post . Even Europe does a better job of curtailing food waste and food waste in Europe alone could feed 200 million hungry people! Food waste is often described as a farm to fork problem because produce is lost in fields, warehouses, packaging, distribution, supermarkets, restaurants and fridges. Why? We purchase too many food products, our eyes are bigger than our stomachs, and we buy what is not expected. One of the many reasons Americans have a big amount of food waste every year comes right from the source: farming. Farming is a major contributor to food waste in the United Statesfor different reasons. According to the Washington Post, Roughly 7 percent of the produce that s grown in the United States simply gets stranded on fields each year. When it comes to farming, there are many ways produce may get wasted. To begin, some growers plant more crops than there is demand for to hedge against disease and weather, which can create a surplus of crops. By the same token, produce often goes unpicked because it does not meet standards for its looks shape, color or weight. At times, perfectly fine crops go unharvested after food safety warnings are announced by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration). Immigration laws can also have an impact on food waste by creating a shortage of farmworkers, leaving produce to go unpicked. After crops have been harvested and gathered from the fields, farmers tend to cull produce to make sure it meets minimum standards for its looks. In the end, around 30 percent of produce that is actually harvested and picked from farms never actually reaches supermarkets due to trimming, quality selection, and failure to meet cosmetic

The Gilded And Progressive Eras Kailyn McComb History 1151 Professor Rob Denning Date Submitted Reforming America The gilded and progressive eras in America were times of expansion, urbanization, and what seemed like a golden pathway to an industrialized future. In the 1850s, railroads were being built all across America, and with that came the rise of the steel and oil industries, as well as dramatic population increases in the newly urbanized cities. Such a change in society created a gap between social classes causes incredible amounts of poverty for many, and incredible wealth for few. Three main struggles during this crucial time in America were political corruption, the rapid expansion of urban cities, and the unfair, and unsafe working conditions. Through these difficult times, many different types of reform were supported, but few were actually effective. One of the largest problems facing Americans during the gilded age and progressive era was political corruption. The late 1800s and early 1900s were filled with political machines such as George Plunkitt and James Gillespie Blaine. Plunkitt was known as the leader of Tammany Hall, an Irish based organization that was heavy in politics during the 19th century. Politicians affiliated with Tammany Hall would provide jobs, money or other favors and in return would receive government favors. Although Plunkitt believed he was doing no wrong, many Americans saw this as taking the patronage system for granted. During an interview, Plunkitt said, I

A League Of Their Own Narrative Analysis This section employs narrative analysis to the story A League of Their Own in order to highlight the moral of the film that women have a choice over their future and do not have to be stay at home mothers. Once again, a story needs a plot with a beginning, middle, and end (Sellnow, 2014, p. 60). Dottie and Kit s story begins in the small farm town where they work at the dairy and play ball for fun. During a game, a recruiter takes notice of Dottie, then from there, Dottie and Kit s baseball career takes off. Their upward progression proves that anything is possible. Tensions run high between sisters Dottie and Kit. Kit hates how good Dottie is at baseball and does not believe that Dottie wants to even be on the team. All the while, Dottie does not understand Kit s frustration. Dottie tells Mr. Lowenstein she is leaving if she is not put on another team. Instead, Kit gets put on another team. The climax of the story is reached, Dottie and Kit have a critical conversation where they share their true feelings with one another. It is at this moment that Dottie realizes she really does not know why she is still in the league. In relevance to the moral, Kit is expressive about her love for baseball, while Dottie seems to detach herself. She knows that when her husband comes back from the Army, she must go back to him because, sticking to the bandwagon, Dottie believes she should remain a housewife. Meanwhile, Kit does trust this outlook on life and she accepts the view that she can choose a different course for her life. During this confrontation, the audience is able to see the split of ideals of what one s life should reflect. They can see that Dottie is stuck in the mindset of staying home and raising children, while Kit is up to date with modern society by understanding that there is so much more to her life than what society says she should be. In examination of the text, one of the first steps is to describe the setting (Sellnow, 2014, p. 55). The story takes place in a small farm town in Oregon where no one really makes anything of themselves. Dottie and Kit leave this setting to demonstrate that taking chances and following one s dreams can make their life great. Dottie and Kit go against the norm of

An intrinsic issue related to David Suzuki s postulation that diversity of all variants is useful to the perpetuation of the is his intentional disregard for the biological notion of conflict within ecosystems, specifically pertaining to invasive species and the ecosystems (and entities inhabiting the ecosystem) which are the recipients of said invasion; if a species is relocated to an ecosystem and possesses traits which fundamentally do not align with the synergistic and symbiotic nature of the ecosystem , there exists a ubiquitous consequence for the denizens who are accustomed to the relatively static nature of their environment. The socio cultural correlation, related to the biological notion of ecosystem equilibrium, is the introduction of individuals who possess fundamental disagreements with the predominant ethical and moral perspectives of the majority of inhabitants; this, historically, results in the amplifications of tension between the two groups (primary inhabitants and incompatibly invasive) and the inexorable suppression (this has a propensity to manifest in both active and passive assimilation or the relocation of the minority into a specific region) of the incompatibly invasive or the disintegration of the primary inhabitants social structure . Present within both a biological and socio cultural structure is compatibility within an ecosystem, and operating within the confines of such permits a higher degree of success when approaching multi culturalism, but attempting to implement the unrestricted proliferation of any species or culture within an environment, as proselytized by David Suzuki, is not functional. An example of such would be introducing the Andean bear into the environment of the Asiatic black bear, in

This topic has sparked a lot of discussion as to how it s best for each generationto act and deal with their other generational coworkers. Companies need new strategies to utilize the strengths of each employee. Once boomers do retire there will be a large void in the workforce since there is so many of them. This will create another change in business culture because younger people will be needed to fill those spots. All of these situations are becoming more and more common in the new workforce. In order for a business to run smoothly all of the workers, managers and subordinates need to be able to find common ground to accomplish the set tasks. There is no avoiding your coworkers so this is inevitable. I don t see the change of culture to stop anytime soon. I believe that people will continue to develop new ideas to make things easier and faster. Still, people will obviously need to learn to work together and adjust to different generational

The modality sampling has many advantages, one of the most important being that it provides important intervention resources. The main purpose of this study was to compare the efficacy of graphic and gestural modes of communication with a toddler with Angelman syndrome (Martin, Reichle, Dimian, Chen, 2013). The participant was Adam, a 21 month old male with Angelman syndrome. Before the study started, Adam was assessed in communication, cognition, and fine and gross motor skills. Adam did not engage in vocal imitation or turn taking. His mother reported that Adam would sometimes vocalize to get her attention, he would also protest, request, and express excitement. Adam s fine motor skills were delayed, but he had adequate movements to produce gestures for the study. Before the sessions started, the three researchers went through a role play training. This was done to increase reliability and interobserver agreement between the researchers. The 44 sessions occurred at the participant s house or at his day care center. The first session was a baseline probe and the rest of the sessions were divided into five phases. The sessions were held two times per week for five months. Racism is still obvious in America. Racism can be linked directly to stereotypical mindsets of certain groups of people. Today s racism is not restricted to whites and blacks, and it has come to define many different groups and races. Pigmentation as well as physical characteristics and features still are influential for classifying people. It is easy to overlook the racism that hides below the surface and is part of American life. Today, an estimate 54 million Latinos live in the U.S. and around 43 million people speak Spanish. Although Latinos are the country s largest minority, anti Latino prejudice is still common. Very few Americans recognize, acknowledge, and respect the contributions of one of America s greatest ethnic groups Hispanics. Americans are often confused as to who Hispanics really are and what they represent in America. Although the United Statesis known for having a melting pot of diverse cultures, recent studies have shown the rise of discrimination against Latinos and Hispanics immigrants. A person s legal status should not be an excuse for mistreatment. Civil rights have been the example of our constitutional history. How we treat and respect others has been the foundation of American democracy, yet despite this constitutional and moral obligation, modern day anti Hispanic racism continues to define who we

This was the time in my life where I came to the realization that this fun and entertaining industry was a place where I could develop a career. Every since this time in my life I have been creating goals for my career and steps to achieve these goals. One of these steps to achieving a successful career includes attending a university to study hospitality. This step has brought me to this point, where I am creating goals specifically for this course. I believe creating these goals will put me in a position to better succeed. I know being successful in this course is important because the information taught will help me in achieving my career goals. Through travel and hospitality related experiences in my life I have created two major goals for my career. My first trip to Las Vegas was the time when my first major career goal was established. By walking through each hotel I could easily see that each place had a different style and way of operating. Observing these examples allowed me to determine which hotel/resort or company would be the best to work for. MGM s Aria Resort and Casino has always stuck out to me as a well running, high class establishment; the workers are professional, but friendly and the atmosphere is comforting while keeping up with the modern times. With this said, one of my goals is to be employed by the Aria. Although, knowing how competitive this industry can be, I would

The school board s new proposal to allow teachers to live on campus has already been shot down by many students for countless reasons. They intend on building 140 housing units and rearranging sports facilities to accommodate the staff. There are numerous cons to the idea and hardly any benefits. Then think of how you would feel if you found out that your beloved school would be sold. To receive enough money to execute the plan to build on campus houses, the San Mateo Union High School District intends on selling Peninsula High School, the only alternative school in the district. This school has been especially designed students who need accommodations for their educational, behavioral, or medical needs. If over two hundred of these students are displaced, they will suddenly have no school to attend. Their education will be affected as they will be forced to transfer to a school with a traditional environment that does not meet their needs. Students who are having a difficult time at school may no longer be able to appreciate learning and going to school, making it harder for them to succeed. If the district were to sell Peninsula High regardless of using profit to build housing, the money could go towards better causes that benefit students such as adding more electives, purchasing lab equipment needed in the science department, and improving the school s technology. It is simply illogical and senseless to take money away from students education in order to assist teachers with commute and
