Macbeth and Hamlet Tragedies Essay
At a time for war, Both Hamlet and Macbeth are considered tragedies and both main characters are
considered tragic heroes. There are many differences and similarities. For one, both have somewhat of
a psychotic, mental breakdown at some point of the story. Hamlet is just acting crazy to deceive
Claudius, while Macbeth has truly gone mad in his lust for power and selfish motives. Both are to
become Royalty, with the only exception that Hamlet does it through dishonorable means. For in my
way it lies. Stars, hide your fires; Let not light see my black and deep desires. The eye wink at the
hand, yet let that be Which the eye fears, when it is done, to see Macbeth (1.4 57 60). Hamlet is an
automatic heir to the throne if his uncle dies. A ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As Horatio puts it, Now cracks a noble heart. Good night, sweet prince, And flights of angels sing thee
to thy rest. Hamlet (5.2 97 98). On the other hand, even though he dies in battle on the battle field,
Macbeth isn t able to die honorably, because of all the lives he has taken, purely for his own potential
need. So says Macduff as he enters with Macbeth s head. Hail, King! for so thou art. Behold where
stands Th usurper s cursèd head. The time is free. I see thee compassed with thy kingdom s pearl,
Macbeth (5.8 65 67)
When it comes to decision making, Hamlet takes a long time to finally decide to seek the revenge he
promised his deceased fathers ghost. He tends to over think matters and oftentimes complicate them
more than necessary. Of thinking too precisely on th event (A thought which, quartered, hath but one
part wisdom And ever three parts coward), I do not know Why yet I live to say This thing s to do, Sith
I have cause, and will, and strength, and means To do t Hamlet (4.4 43 49) In contrast, Macbeth acts
very quickly and rashly. He doesn t think about what he does, before he does it, and is manipulated
easily. Finally, when it came down to killing someone, in both of the plays, there were moral
dilemmas preventing both of the killers from performing the evil task they so closely guarded. During
Hamlets time period, revenge was condemned amongst society; which prevented

Essay on Texas s Political Culture
Political Culture
Texas political culture is one that can be described as a combination of three main ideas:
individualistic, traditionalism and moralism. Considering Texas and its overwhelming 254 counties we
can see these main ideas undoubtedly. The 254 counties each have their own general set of ideas,
attitudes and beliefs. The whole state of Texas is simply not just considered individualistic,
traditionalism, or moralism, it is considered all three. Individualistic, traditionalism and moralism are
all strong values that coexist in our society and they all affect how we as the people live our lives. A
political culture shapes a region s politics.
Texas has all three political cultures all over the state, but when people outside of ... Show more

Individualism is the belief of self reliance. Texas is also known for being on its own. Which leads to
its famous saying, you ve got nobody to blame but yourself. They are all about being the self made
man. An individualist prefers privacy, is suspicious of public institutions, and is an independent
contractor. This attitude ties into our low active government. Government is sought out to be at low
cost and out of the way of its voters. Texas government is very limited, and has a legislature that meets
biennially. Due to our isolation, public education is under funded and is at its high in many court
battles and legislative conflicts. The heart of individualism would be laissez faire. In Britannica,
laissez faire is the policy of minimum governmental interference in the economic affairs of individuals
and society. Laissez faire is basically telling government to leave them alone. The whole concept is to
keep minimum government interference in business.
Moralism is all about the community and a commonwealth. They are suspicious of private institutions
and interests. An example would be social security, social welfare programs, and public education
programs. A moralist is all about being equal with people, everyone needs a fair share. Austin Texas
has a lot of business there. They are big or moralism because of its big community.

Green Burial
Life has a cycle and death is inevitable. We all die. How we die and the choice of the body s disposal
is what sets up apart. It is easy to think the American way of death is the same for everyone but that s
far from the truth. There are many ways to create a meaningful send off after one s death. This include
traditional burials, cremation and a growing practice, green burials.
For the past 150 years, American funerals have consisted of traditional burial practices which include
interment of the entire body with the use of embalming in impenetrable wood or metal caskets with
concrete vaults and liners (Harris, p.13). It involves the pumping of embalming fluid, mainly
formaldehyde, into to the body to slow decay (Harker 2012). The assumption ... Show more content

Specifically, for Jewish or Muslim funeral traditions, green burial is an easy way to meet the
requirements of the individual canon law. Both of these religions reject embalming and encourage the
natural decomposition of the body. With the Muslim funeral rites including the washing of the body,
shrouding, funeral prayer, and burial (Campo, p.161). Similarly, the Jewish funerary rites include the
tahara which is the washing and shrouding of the body by a chevra kadhisha (Golbert, p.56). One
religion that green burials wouldn t be able to fit the requirements of a traditional funeral is
Christianity, that involves a viewing, a vigil, funeral mass and right to committal (Larson Miller, p.102
103). Even though, in terms of Christian belief and environmental concerns, it makes more sense
because it seems to honor the Old Testament verse in Genesis which says from dust you are, and to
dust you shall return . It also makes the point that death is a natural process that involves decay. The
simplicity and authenticity it possesses are two of the many qualities that appeal to its consumers
(Chiu 2016). The Green burials allow for the decease to have a choice in the way that they leave the
earth and how they are remembered. Whether it s by reducing their carbon footprint, rekindling one s
relation to the earth or having and allowing

Ningaloo Reef Research Paper
Ningaloo Reef
(a.) Clearly IDENTIFY the coastal environment you have chosen to search
The coastal environment I have decided to talk about today is Ningaloo Reef. The reef is on the
remote western coast of Australia, it includes one of the longest nearshore reefs in the world.
Temperate and tropical currents converge in the Ningaloo region resulting in highly diverse marine
life including spectacular coral reefs, abundant fishes and species with special conservation
significance such as turtles, whale sharks, dugongs, whales and dolphins.
(b.) Describe the location
The reefs latitude ranges from 21°42 14 S 24° 1 52 S (one of the highest for reefs) and the longitude is
between 113°25 E 114° 15. The Ningaloo Reef stretches over 300 km from North West Cape to Red
Bluff, is located in the Ningaloo Marine Bioregion and is the largest fringing coral reef in Australia,
the reef is enclosed within the Ningaloo Marine Park, listed on the World Heritage List in 1987.

the underwater kelp forests and corals of Western Australia. Ningaloo experienced massive bleaching
in 2011 at Bundegi, on the western side of Exmouth Gulf, where live coral cover crashed from 80% to

Even across the nation if a police officer dies the other men and women are left to continue on and can
only look back to mourn their loss for a short time. According to Philadelphia Police Commissioner
Charles Ramsey from the article How police deaths affect us all, Anytime you lose someone you know
it s going to take an emotional toll. We ve had a lot of police officers that have died tragically... But we
re not able to shut our doors of mourning. We all have to keep pushing forward, I find this to be truly
heartbreaking. For me to grow up in a small netted community my parents have always taught me to
respect my elders, volunteer with community service and pursue my dreams. I now feel like I ve been
living in a giant bubble. Finding out that across the nation, there police officer to go out of their way
and protect the people in their area only to never be able to go back to their family and knowing that
there are children out there missing a parent because of an action someone took to protect themselves
when they re the ones who put themselves into that situation is eye opening. For Commissioner
Ramsey this is all too well known as he states, I ve been here a little more than four and a half years,
and I ve had seven officers so far killed in the line of duty. That s an awful lot in a short period of time
from the article How police deaths affect . For the other officers left there feeling the loss they often
try to hide their feelings and remain passive. This takes a huge toll on these officers as they bottle up
their feeling while building stress and growing deeper in depression. Whether or not the officer knew
the officer who died, they grow a connection with them in the fact they share the same occupation and
might have lived the same life, a life with a family and friends. The

The Barriers That Limit Further Integration Of Icts
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
3.1 INTRODUCTION
In the previous chapter, a summary of literatures related to this study has been given. This chapter will
discuss the methods that would be adopted in order to achieve the aim of this research study. The aim
of this research study is to explore the barriers that limit further integration of ICTs in Nigerian
secondary schools and steps that can be taken to limit the barriers.
To achieve the aim of this research, survey questionnaires were sent out to 250 teachers (public and
private) and also to 150 students. Asides sending questionnaires to the teachers, semi structured
interview was conducted to four (4) teachers to gather more information.
In addition, this chapter also discusses survey methodology, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Quantitative research methods usually contain numbers, proportion and statistics. One of the methods
known to be quantitative method is the use of questionnaires to implement research and collect data.
In this research, hard copies of questionnaires were shared amongst teachers in several private and
public secondary schools. These schools were chosen randomly and are all located at the western part
of Nigeria. The questionnaires were filled at instance and were collected immediately. Although in
some secondary schools, collection of the questionnaires was delayed for a maximum of two days.
The questionnaire includes yes/no questions as well as multiple choice questions.
Like in any research, there are advantages and disadvantages. The advantage was that, there were a
good numbers of respondents. However, according to Collis and Hussey (2009), the larger the sample,
the better it represents the population. Due to the crisis I Nigeria as at the time this research was
conducted, the total number of respondents was 200 teachers as compared to the initial target of 600
teachers, which is categorized as the disadvantage or challenge encountered during the research.
Asides the teacher s involvement, couple of students from the randomly selected secondary schools
also took part in the completion of the survey.

Qualitative research method is used in attempt to have a better understanding on the subject matter i.e.

Race And The Space Race
I created this piece to further elaborate on the book s main premise of the lack of support for our space
program in our current age. Before I touch on that we have to touch on our origins. We as a race have
lived as pioneers exploring the earth and colonizing any new place we could find. It all started in the
fertile crest in the middle east. They ventured forth and spread across the earth. Then came the period
of stagnation where no exploration was happening and the space race started. We went back to our
roots as pioneers exploring beyond the bounds of our small blue planet. America as a whole was the
economic powerhouse of the age and the space race caused our education standards to be raised as a
whole leading to a greater nation. However,

The First Stage Of The Consumer Decision Process
The first stage of the consumer decision process is need/problem recognition. Most people who are
looking for a diet see a need to please themselves and need change physically. When looking at a diet
consumers are looking for something that is functional and can change them. The marketers can
influence my decision by initially being perceived as something that I need. Information is the next
step in deciding what to get based on the consumer s needs. Internal and external information will be
put in to play when deciding where to head next. Internal information is present information and
comes from previous experiences. External information is what someone finds when looking for a
solution for their needs. Both types of information can be used to market positively and negatively.
Marketers can do everything they can to have their product be put in a good light. When consumers
look externally markets can give reasons why it s worth a consumer s time to use their product with
little to no risk. With all information available it s time to make a decision. Decision can be hard to
make depending on the needs of a consumer. There are criteria involved in making a decision and
depending on if the product fits the criteria will determine if it will be purchased. The determining
attributes are the features most important to the consumer. If the consumer is in need of premade
meals compared to making their own that will play a large effect in the decision. Marketers need to

Compare And Contrast Augustus And Shi Huangdi
Caesar Augustus and Qin Shi Huangdi During the classical civilizations there were many types of
rulers and governments, two of these include Augustus from the Roman Empire and Qin Shi Huangdi
from the Qin Dynasty in China. Both of these emperors were from classical civilizations but their own
different civilization, on in Rome and the other in China. My goal in this paper is to compare and
contrast these two rulers from different civilizations by looking at their characteristics, such as how
they came to power, how they ruled, their successes and failures as well as their legacy. First and
foremost, both Augustus, whose original name was Octavian, and Qin Shi Huangdi came to power

Both emperors kept their empire in control with rules and laws for their people, which is undoubtedly
a great success. Augustus mercilessly crushed anybody who opposed him as Qin Shi Huangdi did but
Augustus had punishments equivalent to those of the crime committed to where Qin Shi Huangdi

people, he maintained Rome together and stable creating a period known as Pax Romana due to
unprecedented peace and economic prosperity throughout the Empire (Ancient Rome, ushistory.org).
After his death his dynasty began with the Five Good Emperors who ruled after him with prosperity.

Youth culture s significance transcends the standard images of generational identity to stereotype each
decade s youth. The jazz age was characterized through rebellious morals and loose women. American
culture mythologized youth as a time of exploration, becoming, growth, pain, and thus, by
implication, dismisses aging as a time of stodginess, inertia, stasis; and absence of feeling (Patricia

Social Responsibility In Greek Theatre
Throughout the different eras of theatre, the Greek, Roman, Medieval, Commedia, and Shakespearean
performers all contributed to the culture of the societies of they were in. However, the level of social
responsibility that was prevalent in these eras was dependent on whether or not government promoted
theatre as a means of enlightening the general public. As a result, the manner in which theatre was
presented contributed to the evolution of the particular society either positively or negatively. During
the era of Greek theatre, which lasted from 550 B.C. to 220 B.C., government, art, education, science,
and medicine were all viewed as equally important. Akropolis, which was the center of government
and thought, espoused the ideals of empowerment and making one s self and society better. Plays that
were performed made people ask questions in order to push society forward, and the government
created theatre in this era so that it can be critiqued. The Festival of Dionysus, which was a weeks
long festival, featured various artists from different fields showcasing their talents, including theatre
performances that ran all day. At the same time, love making and drinking was encouraged (Dionysus
is the god of wine and fertility) as a means of opening up one s state of mind. At the performances of
these plays, actors wore masks, which indicated the type of character they were, and the masks had
attachments so that people could hear what they were saying, but there was also a

Characteristics Of The Elizabethan Theatre As Popular...
The Elizabethan Theatre as Popular Entertainment
As you can imagine, life in the 1500s and 1600s in England was very stale, with little things to
entertain the people at the time. There were no cars, no televisions, no movies, no videos games,
nothing of that sort. Majority of people at the time worked for very little pay in very difficult labor
fields for harsh hours and weather every single day with no real escape due to their poverty. However,
there was one place that was dirt cheap that anyone could go to for a good time: The Globe Theatre.
Before the cinematic experiences we have today in our movie theaters were created, theaters such as
the Elizabethan Theater were a popular form of entertainment in England at the time, mostly due to
the cost of attending. One of the main reasons that the theater was such a popular place among the
people was for the plays that were being showed that the theater at the time. You see, in the
Elizabethan era, Elizabethan plays and playwrights were extremely popular in almost all social classes
in society at the time. In fact, many of the plays that were showed and created during the era are
widely famous even to this day, and are still performed all over the world. Many of the play writers for
the theater are widely known to this day as well, these include: William Shakespeare, Christopher
Marlow, Ben Jonson, and many more. One of the most notable plays that was played in the theater
was William Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet. At the theater, another reason it was so popular, was due
to the fact that the theater was playing a show almost every single night for the people to come see.
However, the plays were often repeated over and over many times due to the yearn for new
plays/variety to perform. Surprisingly, the people didn t care and some would even go to see the same
plays multiple times due to the lack of other options for entertainment during this period. The next
reason that the theater was such a popular form of entertainment amongst the people, is due to the lack
of rules instated within the theater. The differences between audiences watching a play today are much
different then how they were back then. Nowadays, when you attend a play, everyone is quiet and

My Teaching Philosophy And Philosophy Of Teaching English
In my future career I aspire to teach English for Specific Purposes. These purposes can include
academic English, scientific English, or possibly medical English. I hope to inspire adults to expand
their profession or young adults to pursue a career related to the topic of English, so that they might
share and gain knowledge with others around the world. These students may come from various
backgrounds and L1s (depending on where I teach) and will likely be in an EFL context. Unless I
teach in Canada, and then that would be an ESL classroom.
My speaking philosophy is composed of five main principles. These beliefs have been established
through time spent in classes with reflection on theories, and through personal experiences in
interacting with ESL students.
1. My first belief is that students should use the language authentically.
Students enjoy genuine interactions with people, and that is why they are often motivated to learn a
language, to communicate. In order to communicate, they need to understand how people speak within
that language. Classroom English is not sufficient in the real world and will not help students.
Therefore, if I am teaching science English, then I will have the students go to science ... Show more

In order to combat that, the classroom should be comfortable and inviting to every student. It is vital
that students are given opportunities to speak with each other through various assignments and
activities. They should get to know each so that any embarrassment is minimized. Because speaking
can be very stressful, especially in situations with many colleagues listening (as a medical professional
or any type of professional will encounter), students should be able to have fun and enjoy the learning
experience. It may be hard and stressful, but moments of enjoyment will help students from burning

Epiphary In Katherine Mansfield s The Garden Party
There are many reasons behind an author s story. Mainly it is to portray a message, give a good laugh,
or explain a purpose, but the author will get their point across to their readers. In Katherine Mansfield
s, The Garden Party, she focuses on a young, upperclass girl, with the name of Laura Sheridan. During
the story, the Sheridan family is preparing to host a very lively garden party. Unfortunately for the
circumstance, there has been a death in their community. The Scott family, who is of the middle class,
had just lost their husband and their father. The wake for Mr. Scott just so happens to be during the
time of the garden party. The separation of classes causes an unsettling act of sympathy from Laura.
She can not decide whether to be on the right side or the wrong side of the situation. The death of Mr.
Scott allows Laura Sheridan to experience an epiphany, as she encounters the difference s between the
upper and middle classes, life and death, and a new perspective of life. Many people are often judged
by their appearances, living arrangements, or income status. That is how the world views and
classifies people to place them in a hierarchical stature.
There were a few middle class workers hired to set up a marquee at the Sheridan house. Since Laura
was considered to be the artistic one (EastoftheWeb 2) of her siblings, she was chosen to conduct the
hired workers on where to set up the marquee. During her time as supervisor, she overhears a tragic
story one of

The Problem Of The Subprime Crisis
Currently, we are recovering from one of the worst recessions the United States and the world
economies have ever seen. Known as The Great Recession, the period of falling employment,
spending, saving and rising interest rates, officially lasted from December 2007 June of 2009.
However, the effects were felt severely numerous years after, and are still being resolved and learned
from today. Normally, the housing sector of the United States market leads the economy out of a
recession, being one of the few forms of spending almost exclusively domestic. Also, housing leads to
a spur of other jobs including raw material distribution, construction, contracting, and real estate. The
subprime mortgage crisis is argued to be the cause of the Great Recession and one of the main
inhibitors of finding a solution quickly. What caused the subprime crisis, and why was it so
detrimental even on a world scale? There are many hypotheses, some are proven through economic
law and some are ideas based off of human nature. The Subprime Crisis is known as the fall of the
housing market resulting in a record number of foreclosures and families declaring bankruptcy. This
was a direct result of banks being able to produce money too quickly. Due to an influx of loans and
high interest rates, banks were able to create enough money for mortgage loans for people with weak
credit, a subprime mortgage. If interest rates remained at the current price and the value of the housing
market remained high,

The Earth s Need for Population Limitation Laws Essay
Earth s population is increasing, and areas which are already home to millions are continuing to
expand. As these cities continue to grow, when the population reaches a certain point it is referred to
as a megacity, a megacity is a metropolitan area with a total population of 10 million plus. These
megacities are so large that they are becoming out of control settlements, cities like Los Angeles and
Tokyo are being forced to expand upwards due to having to accommodate for the thriving population.
These cities are also faced with the issue of not having enough resources such as food and water to
support the demand required. With megacities rampant growth with it bring a decline in the quality of
life, to prevent this from getting worse laws ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By doing this not only is it costly, but they must ensure that the water is shared with other smaller
neighboring cities and rural areas.
Just like Los Angeles, Tokyo, Japan is another example of how megacities are out of control
settlements. Tokyo is located in the southern Kanto region, positioned in approximately the centre of
the Japanese archipelago (islands that formed the country of Japan) (see appendix three). Toyko s
population in the metropolis as of 2012 was approximately 37.2 million people (Allianz, 2014). With
such a high population in such a dense urban area these megacities are being forced to expand
upwards in order to accommodate for the citizens (see appendix Three). However by doing this many
risks are associated, for example, Tokyo sits on fault lines that make up a part of the Ring of Fire,
meaning that there are high chances of natural disasters to occur at any time (The telegraph, 2011).
Megan Linkin, a natural disaster expert from Swiss re states:
This quotation is stating that due to Tokyo s geographical placement that a natural disaster like
earthquakes, tsunami s or volcanic activty could occur at any given moment. So when a natural
disaster does occur it is likely to result in a high number of collapsing buildings and other
infrastructure which were designed for large numbers of residents. This will result in a large number
of casualties and because of the

My High School Life
High School is a very crucial place for most people, but I can definitely say it was very difficult for
me. I did well in school, well enough for me. Now, to me the requirements to graduate high school
seemed too difficult for one person, then again, most people manage to do; let me rephrase that: it
seemed too difficult for me. I guess the main focus throughout this memoir is; when does your life
truly begin? At the start of birth or the walk across the stage? Well, here s how mines began. The year
was 2014, and it was the middle of August, the start of my high school year. I m not going to
sugarcoat it but it was one of the worst years of my entire fifteen years of existence. I was a freshman,
of course, and it was an hour and some minutes before school ended for the day. So, a couple of
friends and I went roaming the gym, being the fresh meat at the school, it sort of made us curious to
see what was in store for the next four years. Now, high school in the movies is nothing like high
school in real life. It s sort of casual, down paced so you can say I was also very disappointed with my
high school life. I had pretty high expectations about things and I shouldn t have had especially this
year. Now, back to where we were. So being the curious teens we were, we found ourselves in the
locker rooms, just relaxing, even though we clearly told the teacher we were using the bathroom,
complete lie. Something caught our eyes, and they were a set of pom poms. Being the

Article 28 XIN Gaming and Wave Gaming Join Forces
At the top of the online casino industry there is a select number of developers that are granted
premium status. These companies are considered to be the cream of the crop and it takes something
special to reach such lofty heights. A company that clearly has designs on the top of the industry is
XIN Gaming. Considered one of the creative up and coming names within the industry, XIN Gaming
is definitely making ways. The latest move from the company has seen them join forces with Wave
Gaming, but what does it mean for the two companies involved in the deal?
The press release broke during July 2015 and revealed to the world that XIN Gaming have reached a
working arrangement Wave Gaming, which should bring Wave Gaming developed titles to the online
casino. The whole purpose of the arrangement is to further XIN Gaming s Asian focused slot content.
Of the two companies, XIN gaming ranks as the largest and by incorporating Wave Gaming s remote
gaming server into its own running operations it is only set to grow in stature. While the Wave
Gaming portfolio is considered relatively small, it could prove to be a defining business move for XIN
Gaming given time.
At time of writing Wave Gaming only actually have a handful of slot titles to their name, but these
games have been making an impact in the Far East. The likes of Journey to the West, Monkey King,
and Ninja s Path, have all been praised for their Asian focused themes and

The process of globalization is a process determined by different countries need to develop
international relationships. These international relationships are intended to provide countries with
what they need, while providing what other countries need. Some countries require workforce and
have the financial resources it requires, while other countries have this workforce that they can export
and need to increase their financial resources.
The numerous trade agreements developed between different groups of countries reveal the success of
developing such relationships. Countries these trade agreements have reported increased imports and

Designing An Ensemble Curriculum
Instrumental ensembles are vital to the liberal arts core in college programs. Both aspects should
function collaboratively, teaching students to reach their full potential, think critically, and develop
patterns of rich, diverse thought. While producing a high level musical experience, instrumental music
programs must train complete musicians, performers, and create environment conducive to higher
level thinking. It is important to design an ensemble curriculum that focuses on developing musicians,
rather than just ensemble technicians. As an ensemble leader, discussing the how of error correction
and not just what provides more thorough musical training. Vocabulary used by ensemble leaders
should encapsulate material of musicianship

Amazon Rainforest
Although dams can have negative outcomes, they are not the only projects with destructive effects.
Roads and highways also produce unintentional harm. In the 1970s, when Amazonian deforestation
first began, the Brazilian government believed it should take advantage of the rainforest. To allow
easier access into the rainforest, the government built the Trans Amazonian Highway ( Tropical ). This
accessibility did not just allow easy entry for the official loggers, the highway also created the
opportunity for illegal loggers to enter. Now that Brazil s economy has deteriorated, in order to gain
profits again, their government and independent companies are cutting trees down at a faster pace
(Phillips, Brazil s New ). Not only are legal loggers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Brazil is the world s largest exporter of beef ( Tropical ). Overseas companies purchase these beef
products from the cattle raised on the cleared land, fueling the cattle raising production. The U.S
imports roughly 200 million pounds of beef from Central America every year (Sarma). China is Brazil
s largest consumer of beef, accounting for one third of its meat exports (Leahy). Nayan Chanda, the
Director of Publications for Yale s Center for the Study of Globalization and editor of YaleGlobal
Online, explains the connection between climate change and globalization: [g]lobalization drives
expanding trade, which brings about increased fishing, destruction of forestland, and the spread of
polluting industries to the developing world . Globalization encourages trade, consumerism, and the
process to obtain the traded materials, therefore supporting the deforestation industry. Without outside
influences, Brazil would not profit nearly as much from the Amazon Basin. More international beef
buyers create greater profits for the sellers, and stimulate continued and escalated

Tutankhamun Changes In Ancient Egypt
Tutankhamun was born a prince in Egypt s royal court around the year 1341 BC. His father was the
Pharaoh Akhenaten. Tutankhamun s birth name was Tutankhaten, which he changed after his father
died. Tutankhamun was born to one of his father s lesser wives and not to his main wife, the powerful
Nefertiti. His presence may have caused some strain in the royal courts as Nefertiti had only
daughters, but desperately wanted to have a son of her own to take over the throne. At the young age
of seven years old Tutankhamun s father died. A few years later Tutankhamun married his sister
(which was common for Pharaoh s in Ancient Egypt) and became Pharaoh. Since he was so young he
had help ruling the country. The real rulers were a powerful general named

Opec And The Price Of Oil
OPEC and the price of oil
The organization of the petroleum exporting countries or OPEC was created at Baghdad Conference in
Iraq in September 1960. The founding members of organization were Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia
and Venezuela. These five states were later joined by nine other countries: Qatar (1961), Indonesia
(1962), Libya (1962), United Arab Emirates (1967), Algeria (1969), Nigeria (1971), Ecuador (1973),
Gabon (1975), and Angola (2007). Ecuador and Gabon withdrew from the organization in 1992 and
1994 as Indonesia in 2007 respectively. OPEC relocated its headquarters from Geneva to Vienna in
1960. The purpose of OPEC, as with any cartel, is to limit supplies in the hope of keeping the price
high. The oil industry has been plagued by production booms and falling prices ever since Colonel
Drakes discovery of oil at Titusville, Pennsylvania in 1859. Just as major oil companies colluded from
the 1920 s to the 1960 s to present prices and profits from falling, members of OPEC meet at a regular
basis to set production levels in the hop of maintaining prices. The essential nature of oil (no
substitutes) coupled with its limited number of suppliers make it the ideal product monopoly.
When OPEC was formed in 1960, its main goal was to prevent its compromise the world s largest oil
producers, refiners, and marketers from lowering the price of oil, which they had always specified, or
reported. OPEC members sought to gain greater control over oil prices by

Urbanization In Latin America
Ever since the multiplication of the human race, the use of nature s resources has always been a factor.
But when you come around the 1950 s time that is when we humans start to really abuse it. Even if it
is deforestation or urbanization. To green house gases and melting ice caps, humans play a part in it
all. As we continue to not take care of the earth and its resources, it loses its ability to take care of us.
The variety of ways that trees are used is global. Every year over 3 billion trees are cut down per year!
This is called deforestation. The trees that are cut down usually are to clear spaces for farmland,
urbanization, or just for things like paper or furniture. This is a huge problem because ever since the
industrial age, more than half the planets trees have been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The level and growth of urbanization differ considerably by region. Among different countries, Latin
American countries have the highest portion of the people that live in the country living in urban
areas. But the south and the east of Asia are the most likely to have the most urbanized area over the
next 30 years. Almost all of future world population growth will be in towns and cities. Urbanization
is a powerful force of human nature because as they move, the climate shifts with them. The more
humans in one area make more pollution in that one area because of all the Homo sapiens living there.
In 1800 only about 2 percent of the world s population lived in urban areas. Until a century ago, urban
areas were some of the unhealthiest places for people to live. The increased density of populations in
urban areas led to the rapid spread of infectious diseases. Consequently, death rates in urban areas
historically were higher than in rural areas. The only way urban areas maintained their existence until
recently was by the continual in migration of rural people. (prb.org,

Java As A Programming Language
Java : Introduction Java as a programming language is one that was designed in a time when the
distribution of information was rapidly increasing. Its original purpose was to be used in a home
entertainment controller for the television, however it was much too advanced for the industry (The
History of Java Technology), and so java moved on to a much more capable, and growing internet.
Java s uses aren t just restricted to the internet though, Java is/was produced to be easily distributed
and implemented among many platforms. Java was produced with a set of goals in mind. One of its
most noteworthy and successful goals was to be portable/ cross platform. Java owes a good amount of
its success to its object oriented core, as well as being built upon its familiarity with the c languages
among other things. Java like all programming languages are judged based on their writability,
readability, reliability and overall cost. Literature Review Java is an all around language with it being
one of the most used language of 2014 (TIOBE Software: The Coding Standards Company) it was
even used in Google s android operating system (Rosenblatt, Seth) which is home to 84% of the
mobile operating system market share (IDC: Smartphone OS Market Share). Java has the flexibility to
be used in all fields; cross platform and able to be ported over to other systems. As I mentioned earlier
Java was originally made for a television remote and evolved from that point, Java had evolved

Simulations Essay
Simulations
What I hear, I forget; what I see, I remember; what I do, I understand.
Confucius, 451 BC
General
As young children, we all learn by doing. Toddlers learn to walk on their own with their parents
standing by as guides, providing a safe environment that makes it possible for the child to learn. When
a child enters the formal education system, unfortunately this rich environment of learning by doing
often disappears. The education system is still stuck in the industrial age with classrooms more often
designed for teaching rather than for learning purposes.
To return to the learning by doing stage, enter simulations. A simulation is an instructional strategy

A well designed simulation meets all of John Keller s goals in the ARCS model (attention, relevance,
confidence and satisfaction). It presents a problem to be solved, allows the learner to make choices,
shows the consequences of those choices, and builds confidence in the learner when the problem is
mastered.
There are five major characteristics of simulations:
Simulations are problem based units of learning that are set in motion by a particular task, issue,
policy, crisis, or problem. The problems to be addressed by the participant may be either implicit or
explicit, depending on the nature of the simulation. The issues inherent in the simulation are not
textbook problems or questions in which answers are cut and dried and determined quickly.
Participants carry out functions associated with their roles and the settings in which they find
themselves. The outcomes of the simulation are not determined by chance or luck. Instead,
participants experience consequences that follow from their own actions. Participants experience
reality of function to the extent that they fulfill their roles conscientiously and in a professional
manner, executing all the rights, privileges and responsibilities associated with the role.
(Grendler, 1994).

  • 2. Macbeth and Hamlet Tragedies Essay At a time for war, Both Hamlet and Macbeth are considered tragedies and both main characters are considered tragic heroes. There are many differences and similarities. For one, both have somewhat of a psychotic, mental breakdown at some point of the story. Hamlet is just acting crazy to deceive Claudius, while Macbeth has truly gone mad in his lust for power and selfish motives. Both are to become Royalty, with the only exception that Hamlet does it through dishonorable means. For in my way it lies. Stars, hide your fires; Let not light see my black and deep desires. The eye wink at the hand, yet let that be Which the eye fears, when it is done, to see Macbeth (1.4 57 60). Hamlet is an automatic heir to the throne if his uncle dies. A ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As Horatio puts it, Now cracks a noble heart. Good night, sweet prince, And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest. Hamlet (5.2 97 98). On the other hand, even though he dies in battle on the battle field, Macbeth isn t able to die honorably, because of all the lives he has taken, purely for his own potential need. So says Macduff as he enters with Macbeth s head. Hail, King! for so thou art. Behold where stands Th usurper s cursèd head. The time is free. I see thee compassed with thy kingdom s pearl, Macbeth (5.8 65 67) When it comes to decision making, Hamlet takes a long time to finally decide to seek the revenge he promised his deceased fathers ghost. He tends to over think matters and oftentimes complicate them more than necessary. Of thinking too precisely on th event (A thought which, quartered, hath but one part wisdom And ever three parts coward), I do not know Why yet I live to say This thing s to do, Sith I have cause, and will, and strength, and means To do t Hamlet (4.4 43 49) In contrast, Macbeth acts very quickly and rashly. He doesn t think about what he does, before he does it, and is manipulated easily. Finally, when it came down to killing someone, in both of the plays, there were moral dilemmas preventing both of the killers from performing the evil task they so closely guarded. During Hamlets time period, revenge was condemned amongst society; which prevented ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Essay on Texas s Political Culture Political Culture Texas political culture is one that can be described as a combination of three main ideas: individualistic, traditionalism and moralism. Considering Texas and its overwhelming 254 counties we can see these main ideas undoubtedly. The 254 counties each have their own general set of ideas, attitudes and beliefs. The whole state of Texas is simply not just considered individualistic, traditionalism, or moralism, it is considered all three. Individualistic, traditionalism and moralism are all strong values that coexist in our society and they all affect how we as the people live our lives. A political culture shapes a region s politics. They were not all named George or Jeb Bush for no reason, if it ain t broke, don t fix it. Individualism is the belief of self reliance. Texas is also known for being on its own. Which leads to its famous saying, you ve got nobody to blame but yourself. They are all about being the self made man. An individualist prefers privacy, is suspicious of public institutions, and is an independent contractor. This attitude ties into our low active government. Government is sought out to be at low cost and out of the way of its voters. Texas government is very limited, and has a legislature that meets biennially. Due to our isolation, public education is under funded and is at its high in many court battles and legislative conflicts. The heart of individualism would be laissez faire. In Britannica, laissez faire is the policy of minimum governmental interference in the economic affairs of individuals and society. Laissez faire is basically telling government to leave them alone. The whole concept is to keep minimum government interference in business. Moralism is all about the community and a commonwealth. They are suspicious of private institutions and interests. An example would be social security, social welfare programs, and public education programs. A moralist is all about being equal with people, everyone needs a fair share. Austin Texas has a lot of business there. They are big or moralism because of its big community. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Green Burial Life has a cycle and death is inevitable. We all die. How we die and the choice of the body s disposal is what sets up apart. It is easy to think the American way of death is the same for everyone but that s far from the truth. There are many ways to create a meaningful send off after one s death. This include traditional burials, cremation and a growing practice, green burials. For the past 150 years, American funerals have consisted of traditional burial practices which include interment of the entire body with the use of embalming in impenetrable wood or metal caskets with concrete vaults and liners (Harris, p.13). It involves the pumping of embalming fluid, mainly formaldehyde, into to the body to slow decay (Harker 2012). The assumption ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Specifically, for Jewish or Muslim funeral traditions, green burial is an easy way to meet the requirements of the individual canon law. Both of these religions reject embalming and encourage the natural decomposition of the body. With the Muslim funeral rites including the washing of the body, shrouding, funeral prayer, and burial (Campo, p.161). Similarly, the Jewish funerary rites include the tahara which is the washing and shrouding of the body by a chevra kadhisha (Golbert, p.56). One religion that green burials wouldn t be able to fit the requirements of a traditional funeral is Christianity, that involves a viewing, a vigil, funeral mass and right to committal (Larson Miller, p.102 103). Even though, in terms of Christian belief and environmental concerns, it makes more sense because it seems to honor the Old Testament verse in Genesis which says from dust you are, and to dust you shall return . It also makes the point that death is a natural process that involves decay. The simplicity and authenticity it possesses are two of the many qualities that appeal to its consumers (Chiu 2016). The Green burials allow for the decease to have a choice in the way that they leave the earth and how they are remembered. For Commissioner Ramsey this is all too well known as he states, I ve been here a little more than four and a half years, and I ve had seven officers so far killed in the line of duty. That s an awful lot in a short period of time from the article How police deaths affect . For the other officers left there feeling the loss they often try to hide their feelings and remain passive. This takes a huge toll on these officers as they bottle up their feeling while building stress and growing deeper in depression. Before I touch on that we have to touch on our origins. We as a race have lived as pioneers exploring the earth and colonizing any new place we could find. It all started in the fertile crest in the middle east. They ventured forth and spread across the earth. Then came the period of stagnation where no exploration was happening and the space race started. We went back to our roots as pioneers exploring beyond the bounds of our small blue planet. America as a whole was the economic powerhouse of the age and the space race caused our education standards to be raised as a whole leading to a greater nation. However, ... • 10. The First Stage Of The Consumer Decision Process The first stage of the consumer decision process is need/problem recognition. Most people who are looking for a diet see a need to please themselves and need change physically. When looking at a diet consumers are looking for something that is functional and can change them. The marketers can influence my decision by initially being perceived as something that I need. Information is the next step in deciding what to get based on the consumer s needs. Internal and external information will be put in to play when deciding where to head next. Internal information is present information and comes from previous experiences. External information is what someone finds when looking for a solution for their needs. Both types of information can be used to market positively and negatively. Marketers can do everything they can to have their product be put in a good light. When consumers look externally markets can give reasons why it s worth a consumer s time to use their product with little to no risk. With all information available it s time to make a decision. Decision can be hard to make depending on the needs of a consumer. There are criteria involved in making a decision and depending on if the product fits the criteria will determine if it will be purchased. The determining attributes are the features most important to the consumer. If the consumer is in need of premade meals compared to making their own that will play a large effect in the decision. • 15. Social Responsibility In Greek Theatre Throughout the different eras of theatre, the Greek, Roman, Medieval, Commedia, and Shakespearean performers all contributed to the culture of the societies of they were in. However, the level of social responsibility that was prevalent in these eras was dependent on whether or not government promoted theatre as a means of enlightening the general public. As a result, the manner in which theatre was presented contributed to the evolution of the particular society either positively or negatively. During the era of Greek theatre, which lasted from 550 B.C. to 220 B.C., government, art, education, science, and medicine were all viewed as equally important. Akropolis, which was the center of government and thought, espoused the ideals of empowerment and making one s self and society better. Plays that were performed made people ask questions in order to push society forward, and the government created theatre in this era so that it can be critiqued. The Festival of Dionysus, which was a weeks long festival, featured various artists from different fields showcasing their talents, including theatre performances that ran all day. At the same time, love making and drinking was encouraged (Dionysus is the god of wine and fertility) as a means of opening up one s state of mind. • 16. Characteristics Of The Elizabethan Theatre As Popular... The Elizabethan Theatre as Popular Entertainment As you can imagine, life in the 1500s and 1600s in England was very stale, with little things to entertain the people at the time. There were no cars, no televisions, no movies, no videos games, nothing of that sort. Majority of people at the time worked for very little pay in very difficult labor fields for harsh hours and weather every single day with no real escape due to their poverty. However, there was one place that was dirt cheap that anyone could go to for a good time: The Globe Theatre. Before the cinematic experiences we have today in our movie theaters were created, theaters such as the Elizabethan Theater were a popular form of entertainment in England at the time, mostly due to the cost of attending. One of the main reasons that the theater was such a popular place among the people was for the plays that were being showed that the theater at the time. You see, in the Elizabethan era, Elizabethan plays and playwrights were extremely popular in almost all social classes in society at the time. In fact, many of the plays that were showed and created during the era are widely famous even to this day, and are still performed all over the world. Many of the play writers for the theater are widely known to this day as well, these include: William Shakespeare, Christopher Marlow, Ben Jonson, and many more. One of the most notable plays that was played in the theater was William Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet. At the theater, another reason it was so popular, was due to the fact that the theater was playing a show almost every single night for the people to come see. However, the plays were often repeated over and over many times due to the yearn for new plays/variety to perform. Surprisingly, the people didn t care and some would even go to see the same plays multiple times due to the lack of other options for entertainment during this period. The next reason that the theater was such a popular form of entertainment amongst the people, is due to the lack of rules instated within the theater. The differences between audiences watching a play today are much different then how they were back then. Nowadays, when you attend a play, everyone is quiet and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These purposes can include academic English, scientific English, or possibly medical English. I hope to inspire adults to expand their profession or young adults to pursue a career related to the topic of English, so that they might share and gain knowledge with others around the world. These students may come from various backgrounds and L1s (depending on where I teach) and will likely be in an EFL context. Unless I teach in Canada, and then that would be an ESL classroom. My speaking philosophy is composed of five main principles. These beliefs have been established through time spent in classes with reflection on theories, and through personal experiences in interacting with ESL students. 1. My first belief is that students should use the language authentically. Students enjoy genuine interactions with people, and that is why they are often motivated to learn a language, to communicate. • 20. Epiphary In Katherine Mansfield s The Garden Party There are many reasons behind an author s story. Mainly it is to portray a message, give a good laugh, or explain a purpose, but the author will get their point across to their readers. In Katherine Mansfield s, The Garden Party, she focuses on a young, upperclass girl, with the name of Laura Sheridan. During the story, the Sheridan family is preparing to host a very lively garden party. Unfortunately for the circumstance, there has been a death in their community. The Scott family, who is of the middle class, had just lost their husband and their father. The wake for Mr. Scott just so happens to be during the time of the garden party. The separation of classes causes an unsettling act of sympathy from Laura. She can not decide whether to be on the right side or the wrong side of the situation. The death of Mr. Scott allows Laura Sheridan to experience an epiphany, as she encounters the difference s between the upper and middle classes, life and death, and a new perspective of life. Many people are often judged by their appearances, living arrangements, or income status. That is how the world views and classifies people to place them in a hierarchical stature. There were a few middle class workers hired to set up a marquee at the Sheridan house. Since Laura was considered to be the artistic one (EastoftheWeb 2) of her siblings, she was chosen to conduct the hired workers on where to set up the marquee. • 21. The Problem Of The Subprime Crisis Currently, we are recovering from one of the worst recessions the United States and the world economies have ever seen. Known as The Great Recession, the period of falling employment, spending, saving and rising interest rates, officially lasted from December 2007 June of 2009. However, the effects were felt severely numerous years after, and are still being resolved and learned from today. Normally, the housing sector of the United States market leads the economy out of a recession, being one of the few forms of spending almost exclusively domestic. Also, housing leads to a spur of other jobs including raw material distribution, construction, contracting, and real estate. The subprime mortgage crisis is argued to be the cause of the Great Recession and one of the main inhibitors of finding a solution quickly. What caused the subprime crisis, and why was it so detrimental even on a world scale? There are many hypotheses, some are proven through economic law and some are ideas based off of human nature. The Subprime Crisis is known as the fall of the housing market resulting in a record number of foreclosures and families declaring bankruptcy. This was a direct result of banks being able to produce money too quickly. Due to an influx of loans and high interest rates, banks were able to create enough money for mortgage loans for people with weak credit, a subprime mortgage. If interest rates remained at the current price and the value of the housing market remained high, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As these cities continue to grow, when the population reaches a certain point it is referred to as a megacity, a megacity is a metropolitan area with a total population of 10 million plus. These megacities are so large that they are becoming out of control settlements, cities like Los Angeles and Tokyo are being forced to expand upwards due to having to accommodate for the thriving population. These cities are also faced with the issue of not having enough resources such as food and water to support the demand required. By doing this not only is it costly, but they must ensure that the water is shared with other smaller neighboring cities and rural areas. Just like Los Angeles, Tokyo, Japan is another example of how megacities are out of control settlements. Tokyo is located in the southern Kanto region, positioned in approximately the centre of the Japanese archipelago (islands that formed the country of Japan) (see appendix three). Toyko s population in the metropolis as of 2012 was approximately 37.2 million people (Allianz, 2014). With such a high population in such a dense urban area these megacities are being forced to expand upwards in order to accommodate for the citizens (see appendix Three). However by doing this many risks are associated, for example, Tokyo sits on fault lines that make up a part of the Ring of Fire, meaning that there are high chances of natural disasters to occur at any time (The telegraph, 2011). Megan Linkin, a natural disaster expert from Swiss re states: This quotation is stating that due to Tokyo s geographical placement that a natural disaster like earthquakes, tsunami s or volcanic activty could occur at any given moment. So when a natural disaster does occur it is likely to result in a high number of collapsing buildings and other infrastructure which were designed for large numbers of residents. This will result in a large number of casualties and because of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 23. My High School Life High School is a very crucial place for most people, but I can definitely say it was very difficult for me. I did well in school, well enough for me. Now, to me the requirements to graduate high school seemed too difficult for one person, then again, most people manage to do; let me rephrase that: it seemed too difficult for me. I guess the main focus throughout this memoir is; when does your life truly begin? At the start of birth or the walk across the stage? Well, here s how mines began. The year was 2014, and it was the middle of August, the start of my high school year. I m not going to sugarcoat it but it was one of the worst years of my entire fifteen years of existence. I was a freshman, of course, and it was an hour and some minutes before school ended for the day. So, a couple of friends and I went roaming the gym, being the fresh meat at the school, it sort of made us curious to see what was in store for the next four years. Now, high school in the movies is nothing like high school in real life. It s sort of casual, down paced so you can say I was also very disappointed with my high school life. I had pretty high expectations about things and I shouldn t have had especially this year. Now, back to where we were. So being the curious teens we were, we found ourselves in the locker rooms, just relaxing, even though we clearly told the teacher we were using the bathroom, complete lie. Something caught our eyes, and they were a set of pom poms. Being the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 29. Opec And The Price Of Oil OPEC and the price of oil The organization of the petroleum exporting countries or OPEC was created at Baghdad Conference in Iraq in September 1960. The founding members of organization were Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Venezuela. These five states were later joined by nine other countries: Qatar (1961), Indonesia (1962), Libya (1962), United Arab Emirates (1967), Algeria (1969), Nigeria (1971), Ecuador (1973), Gabon (1975), and Angola (2007). Ecuador and Gabon withdrew from the organization in 1992 and 1994 as Indonesia in 2007 respectively. OPEC relocated its headquarters from Geneva to Vienna in 1960. The purpose of OPEC, as with any cartel, is to limit supplies in the hope of keeping the price high. The oil industry has been plagued by production booms and falling prices ever since Colonel Drakes discovery of oil at Titusville, Pennsylvania in 1859. Just as major oil companies colluded from the 1920 s to the 1960 s to present prices and profits from falling, members of OPEC meet at a regular basis to set production levels in the hop of maintaining prices. The essential nature of oil (no substitutes) coupled with its limited number of suppliers make it the ideal product monopoly. When OPEC was formed in 1960, its main goal was to prevent its compromise the world s largest oil producers, refiners, and marketers from lowering the price of oil, which they had always specified, or reported. OPEC members sought to gain greater control over oil prices by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

To green house gases and melting ice caps, humans play a part in it all. As we continue to not take care of the earth and its resources, it loses its ability to take care of us. The variety of ways that trees are used is global. Every year over 3 billion trees are cut down per year! This is called deforestation. Urbanization is a powerful force of human nature because as they move, the climate shifts with them. The more humans in one area make more pollution in that one area because of all the Homo sapiens living there. In 1800 only about 2 percent of the world s population lived in urban areas. Until a century ago, urban areas were some of the unhealthiest places for people to live. The increased density of populations in urban areas led to the rapid spread of infectious diseases. Consequently, death rates in urban areas historically were higher than in rural areas. The only way urban areas maintained their existence until recently was by the continual in migration of rural people. (prb.org, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Its original purpose was to be used in a home entertainment controller for the television, however it was much too advanced for the industry (The History of Java Technology), and so java moved on to a much more capable, and growing internet. Java s uses aren t just restricted to the internet though, Java is/was produced to be easily distributed and implemented among many platforms. Java was produced with a set of goals in mind. One of its most noteworthy and successful goals was to be portable/ cross platform. Java owes a good amount of its success to its object oriented core, as well as being built upon its familiarity with the c languages among other things. Java like all programming languages are judged based on their writability, readability, reliability and overall cost. Literature Review Java is an all around language with it being one of the most used language of 2014 (TIOBE Software: The Coding Standards Company) it was even used in Google s android operating system (Rosenblatt, Seth) which is home to 84% of the mobile operating system market share (IDC: Smartphone OS Market Share). When a child enters the formal education system, unfortunately this rich environment of learning by doing often disappears. It presents a problem to be solved, allows the learner to make choices, shows the consequences of those choices, and builds confidence in the learner when the problem is mastered. There are five major characteristics of simulations: Simulations are problem based units of learning that are set in motion by a particular task, issue, policy, crisis, or problem. The problems to be addressed by the participant may be either implicit or explicit, depending on the nature of the simulation. The issues inherent in the simulation are not textbook problems or questions in which answers are cut and dried and determined quickly. Participants carry out functions associated with their roles and the settings in which they find themselves. The outcomes of the simulation are not determined by chance or luck. Instead, participants experience consequences that follow from their own actions.
