The Strategies For Development Today
Strategies for Development Today Different views on development that are seen today are based on
the previous lessons learned from strategies used in the past. Protectionism was a strategy used in the
past where countries created steep barriers for imports from other countries. They used this strategy to
help protect their starting industries. Countries didn t open up international market competition until
they were sure they were ready to compete profitably against them. This strategy worked successfully
for the United States, Germany, and Japan. In the second half of the twentieth century, modern day
strategies for development were of influence. Dominant strategies for development used today are
import substitution, state socialism, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The goal was to catch up their technology with international producers to lower trade barriers over
time. Another advantage of import substitution was the balance of payments. Since the country
produced domestic goods that were once imported, this led to more imports of technology without
causing a deficit. Although import substitution did work out for some countries, it did have its
weaknesses towards the late twentieth century. These countries shifted from agriculture production to
manufacturing goods, which increased global agricultural prices and put food importers in a tough
situation. Another problem was that the domestic production of these countries did not become
competitive with the international markets. Small consumer markets could not reach the production of
important goods for the economies of larger domestic markets or international markets. Also, since
domestic producers do not have competition from foreign producers this reduces the motivation for
technology improvement. This did not prepare firms for the international market, instead it made them
remain incompetent or weak. When the state allocates market resources instead of allowing the market
to regulate the supply and demand of the resources is an alternative strategy for development called
state socialism. This strategy spread after World War II to

Hanger Times Gravity
Normal force is the force the surface exerts on an object and since the hanger was not on the ground
the normal force is 0. The normal force is mgcosθ because if the surface was flat the normal force
would be equal to the force of the object (mg), but since the wooden block was on an inclined plane I
had to account for the angle. To find the coefficient of friction I first found the tension in the string. I
did this by using the top equation. Sine the Fn is 0 I was left with tension (Fy) minus the mass of the
hanger times gravity = mass times acceleration (Fy mg = ma). I knew that the hanger was moving at
constant speed, so the acceleration was 0. Since the acceleration was zero I was left with tension
minus the mass of the hanger times gravity(9.8) which means the tension equals the mass of the
hanger times gravity ( Fy = 9.8 x .037 Tension = .363N).
Fy 0 9.8(.037) = .037(0)
I then substituted values into the second equation. Fx = .363 ( Tension) and 1.06124sin(29.5°) = .523 .
mg = 9.8 x .10829 = 1.06124 Fn = 1.0624cos(29.5) = .924 a = 0 ( moving at constant speed) .363
μ(.924) + .523 = 0 μ = .173 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I made the tension and the Ff (force of friction) negative because they were opposing the block s
motion. To find the angle I used trig identity. Trig identity is two equations that can only be used if an
object is moving at constant speed or on the verge of moving. Since the block was traveling at
constant speed I could use μ = tanθ or θ = inverse tangent of μ. I found μ so I did the inverse tangent
of it and found that the angle that the block would slid down at constant speed with no outside forces

Notes On Purchasing Power Parity
Purchasing power Parity (PPP), is a theory stating that the unit of one currency should have the same
purchasing power as the foreign currency. Following the theory, where the normal exchange rate
between two currencies should be the same as the ratio of aggregate price level between them. It can
be also called inflation theory of exchange rates as it stands for the theory of a change of price level
where as the overriding determinant of exchange rate movements. It is the same status as Quantity
theory of money(QT). To make things clear, the dogma of PPP or its alternative Law of one Price
(LOOP), states that when goods in the basket expressed in a single currency meaning that they cost
the same in all countries. This can be achieved only if the rate or nominal exchange rate is equal to the
differences between growth rate. The dental of LOP context is to find the most disaggregate product
and price can be readily material provides as strong presumption that it is impossible to assemble
available date into aggregate price index which can be expected to obey the LOP.
It is introduced in 1918 by Cassel, due to World War I, while there was an international policy debate
about the appropriate level for nominal exchange rates among countries after the large scale of
inflations. Rogoff (1196), expressed that some economists takes PPP seriously in the Short Run(S/R),
but the red variant of PPP, is in the long run exchange rate. Dornbusch and Krugman (1976) also,

Mary Ann Cotton Research Paper
If someone was asked to guess what England s first serial killer may have looked like they would most
likely think of a maliciously looking man staring blankly in front of them. In reality, England s first
serial killer does not fit the characteristics that one might expect of someone with that label. Mary Ann
Cotton was a mother and a wife but contrary to the expectations of a woman and a member of the
gentle sex Cotton was also England s first serial killer. English society during the 19th century was
shocked at the discovery of the crimes committed by Mary Ann Cotton and as a result she changed the
way humans viewed their drive for money as well as their expectations of women. On October 31st
1832, Mary Ann Cotton was born in County ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They all want money. Mary Ann Cotton grew up in a lower class family where they would often
struggle to have enough money to feed each themselves. Mary s crimes may have been ways for her to
finally have the money that she never had as a child. On several occasions Mary collected insurance
money from her victims after killing them which leads investigators to believe her crimes were
motivated by her drive for money. One of her first victims was her first husband, William Mowbray
and after the death of their 7th child; Mary Ann Cotton encouraged Mowbray to get insurance in case
of a sudden death. Not long after the insurance was taken out, William Mowbray died of an intestinal
disorder (Anandavism). Mary is suspected of murdering all seven of those children as well as
Mowbry, making it clear that this series of murders was most likely a large plot to collect more money.
In multiple of her mother murders Mary either collected insurance money or was caught stealing her
husband s money before she could kill him. The lengths that Mary was able to go in order to earn
money show s humans overpowering desire to earn rewards especially those of monetary

Ophelia, By William Shakespeare Essay
Ophelia is a terminal character in Hamlet, whose death is caused by a lack of self control and self
knowledge. Her father controls her life, and when he dies, her life is essentially over. This poses the
question: why does the death of Polonius bring on the complete collapse and destruction of Ophelia?
Polonius controls Ophelia, and does a substantial amount of her thinking. Without him, she has no
direction in her life and no way to express herself as she has been so suppressed her entire life, and all
of a sudden she is free. She does not know what to do with herself. It is possible that Hamlet s
rejection of Ophelia contributes to her madness, it is possible that her not being a virgin contributes to
it, and it is also possible that she has lost all control due to the series of events that have proven her
lack of worth in this patriarchal society. This essay will argue that with her father gone, Ophelia no
longer knows what to do with her life, and has no intended purpose since no one is invested in her life
anymore.
In order to clearly understand the dynamics between Polonius and Ophelia, it is crucial to understand
Polonius as a person. First, it is important to look at what people in the kingdom, specifically Hamlet,
think about him. By comparing the what people think about him and his actions, his character can
accurately be predicted. Hamlet appears to be the most reputable character to take opinions from in
this instance, because he is not involved in the scandal

Indeed the power of Internet has impact on the multitude of advertising formats. This can be seen from
the numerous web tools such as banners, rich media, intertials, and interactive broadband commercials
as seen on the websites nowadays. (Heindl, 2008)
These are the multiple forms of online advertising tools used by advertisers over the time aiming
towards developing exciting, interactive, eye catching advertisements that can draw consumers
attention, at the same time increasing their brand or sales online.
(Strauss and Frost, 1999) states that the Net s big strength is direct response advertising where direct
response leverages the Internet s unique opportunity for two way communication with consumers.
Placing advertising in this environment will grants advertises unique opportunity for in the element of
interactivity. The interactive capabilities of cyber ads offer key advantages for vendors to establish and
maintain dialogues with customers
3.2 Disadvantages of Online Advertisement
Even though there are many advantages for companies who advertise online, there are also some
disadvantages involved. Disadvantages of advertising online include: measurement problems audience
characteristics, web snarl, clutter, potential for deception, costs, limited production quality, poor reach
and lack of Intrusiveness. (Heindl, 2008)

Family trilogy
The family trilogy stories The revolt of mother, The death of the hired man, and Neighbour Rosicky
have the same points to discuss, they all have important global society problems. This paper will
determine the main differences and similarities of the texts and answer the questions of materialism,
the woman s role in the family, and the significance of home.
The revolt of mother tells about a woman who lives in a village with her husband and two children,
there some conflicts inside this family. Adoniram Penn, a husband, is a farmer who decided to build
one more barn. Despite the fact, the couple was living in a small, decrepit house, the man wanted to
buy several ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Their desires and rights were not taken into account, as every impulse to a gender equality was
restricted. In the story, we see an absolutely different turn of events. Sarah was not afraid to oppose
her husband and the surrounding society in order to be happy in a new place of living. Moreover,
when a minister came to talk to her, a woman was adamant in her decisions. She represented herself
from another side, a side of a self confident strong woman: I ve got my own mind an my own feet, an
I m goin to think my own thoughts an go my own ways, an nobody but the Lord is goin to dictate to
me unless I ve a mind to have him (Freeman 19). Finally, a materialistic problem tends to be in the
story. We cannot determine that Penns family is poor. However, it did not seem to be wealthy. If the
husband earned enough money, then he can spend money for a new barn and new house. All the
earnings a father spends on a stock, food and kids. He had lots of possibilities to build a new house for
the past forty years. Instead of that, he decided to waste money on four more cows. Consequently, they
should have managed money appropriately.
Another story, Neighbour Rosicky. It tells about a man, Anton Rosicky who found out about his bad
heart from Dr. Burleigh. For that reason, a man gave up doing serious chores. The man easily follows
the doctor s prescriptions as he has a large family which consists of five sons and one daughter. They

Bob Anderson Research Paper
Bob is a male nickname or occasionally a given name, most common in English speaking countries
such as the United States, Canada, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand. It most
likely originated from the nickname Rob, short for Robert. Rhyming names were popular in the
Middle Ages, so Richard became Rick, Hick, or Dick, William became Will or Bill, and Robert
became Rob, Hob, Dob, Nob, or Bob.[1][2]
While it is impossible to count the popularity of Bob as a nickname, in 1960 nearly 3,000 babies in the
United States were given the name Bob compared to fewer than 50 in 2000.[3]

Karen Horney And Iurotic Theories
Personally, I liked multiple theorists but I didn t really like everything they spoke about. In the
beginning, Karen Horney s views on the three different neurotic trends and how she perceived basic
anxiety. Yet, I also liked the way Raymond Cattell brokedown and organized personality traits and the
way Carl Rogers broke down actualization into becoming a fully functioning person. I see that all of
their theories had valid point of views on the mind and personality. Those three were the ones that
stuck with me while learning about them. Although some of the theories may not be directly
compatible, I think what they believed made sense. Karen Horney s neurotic needs and trends made a
lot of sense to me initially due to her views on basic anxiety which lead to neurotic trends. Although, I
can see the flaws in it, the basic foundation of her theory clicked with me. She believed that in
childhood, we have four basic mechanisms to protect against anxiety: securing affection, being
submissive, attaining power, and withdrawing. If any of these mechanisms become ingrained in our
personality, it leads to them becoming neurotic needs: affection/approval, dominant partner, power,
exploitation, prestige, admiration, achievement/ambition, self sufficiency, perfection, and narrow
limits to life. These are irrational ways that a person may protect themselves from anxiety as an adult.
These needs are capable of being further categorized into three trends: compliant, aggressive, or
detached

Sigmund Freud s Civilization And Its Discontents
Sigmund Freud, in his book Civilization and Its Discontents, contests that humans are subject to
savage, animalistic instincts. He opposes the Marxist value that humans are superior to their animal
counterparts, rather, he holds, humans are quite like wolves to each other. With this claim, he explores
how internal compositions work in the grand scheme, to create a working mechanism of society that
tames and creates internal negotiations of behaviour and instinct. (also include what comes of the last
question) Freud, a psychologist, had views that were at odds with Marxist values, derived from a
philosopher and economist. Their views on what drives human nature are fundamentally different.
Freud adhered to the belief that humans are enslaved by their instinctive forces. This is to say that
humans are driven to seek out pleasure. Marx, on the other hand, believed that humans are motivated
by their place in society through labour. His core value was the division of labor, and how it structures
society. Freud understood man in a Darwinian sense, that man comes from natural selection, in the
sense that Darwin insisted on its [homo sapiens] kinship with lesser cousins and observed that the
stamp of [its] lowly origin was quite ineffaceable (12). This contrasts with the Marxist assumption that
humans are different from animals, the belief in human exceptionalism. Under this presumption, Marx
finds that abuse and violence occurs in consequence to disproportionate distributions

One Hunahph s head is placed in the fork of a Calabash tree and his body is buried with his brothers.
This Calabash tree bore no fruit until the head of One Hunahph is inserted in its branches, and
produced an abundant amount of fruit. This clearly is representative of the Garden of Eden, when God
told Adam and Eve not to eat from the Tree of Knowledge, and the immaculate conception of Mary
when Jesus was born. The Blood Women is being depicted as that in the same as Eve. Blood Women s

the piece of fruit but instead of receiving the fruit, One Hunaphu spit into the palm of the woman s

Attending School Year
The winter weather in the U.S. can be very unpredictable, and can disrupt school for any period of
time. The southern most states generally don t have to worry about it, but anything can happen as you
travel farther north. I have had first hand experience with crazy winter weather since I live in
Michigan. In past years my school has been close to extending the school year, but have never actually
had to do so. I believe if there has been a very significant amount of school canceled then a
combination of actions should be taken.
First, a certain amount of extra school should be added on to the year if the winter was severe enough,
but should not exceed a week or maybe two. The reason the school year should not exceed two extra
weeks is because motivation of students would decline drastically. If a school were to exceed two
weeks, I believe the students would be so unmotivated that the material that they learned would be
close to useless. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If a school were to have an intense winter they should not add days to the year for anything
unnessicary. Doing so would most likely cause students to become unenthusiastic about their school
work.
In conclusion, schools should have the right to extend the school year if a vicious winter caused
cancellations. However, in my opinion, the smartest decision would to cut the days added on to a
reasonable amount for the students sake. In doing so. schools could successfully catch up on lost time
without sacrificing student

Advertisements Are Our Current Society
Advertisements are ubiquitous in our current society. From billboards near highways to commercials
on TVs, they vary in many different ways. Some of them are simple and easy to understand, while
others try to convey a plethora of information in the shortest amount of time possible. Despite their
variations in forms and style, all advertisements are crafted with a common goal: to convince the
audience of something. Many people believe that to convince someone of something, it requires
factual evidence that logically leads them to a particular conclusion. In fact, in language, to prove
something is true, sometimes it only requires the audience to believe in the speaker s utterances. As a
form of communication, advertisements often use this strategy to accomplish their goals. In a recent
political commercial regarding gun rights, it attempts to convince the audience implicitly to not vote
for Hillary Clinton in the Presidential Election in 2016, which entails the audience should vote for the
alternative candidate, Donald Trump. Instead of providing factual evidence, the commercial
manipulates both communicative and natural meaning of sentences to establish credibility and induce
certain beliefs that force the audience to conclude not voting for Hillary Clinton and voting for Donald
Trump. The commercial begins with a woman sleeping at night in her home. Suddenly, she heard the
sound of an intruder. She quickly got out of bed and reached for the phone. Then, the speaker of the

Narnia Essay
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe written by C. S. Lewis is a film
adaptation of a fairly fantasy tale. It shows exciting adventures of four English children Lucy,
Edmund, Peter and Susan who found the magical land of Narnia by way of a wardrobe that they found
out in the house of elderly professor where they were sent by their mother. The scene in the book stats
with Peter s proposal to explore in the house to pass the time during a rainy day. Everyone agreed to
this and that was how the adventures began. The first few doors they entered led only into empty
rooms. Some of the rooms in the house were full with books and other of various papers and different

Lucy s first encounter with the wardrobe, and with Narnia, is during a game of hide and seek. She
asked her brothers and sister to play a game in order to spend their spare time. When little girl was
looking for a place to hide herself she discovered the wardrobe in one of the remote rooms in the
house. Here a special attention should be paid to music which plays an extremely significant role in
this scene. While children were looking for a place running through the house we can hear a lively,
energetic and cheerful song, but when Lucy entered the room with this wardrobe music changed
completely so the audience understand at once that this is as special place, where the magic happens.
The soundtrack Only the Beginning of the Adventure by Harry Gregson Williams managed to
introduce the recurring theme for the land of Narnia. Upon entering the wardrobe, Lucy found herself
walking through trees, rather than the expected coats. At the next moment she is standing in the
middle of a snowy wood next to a lamp post but not in the night time as it was showed in the book.
She got into Narnia when it was day time, probably it was afternoon. Thereby the filmmakers
demonstrated the whole beauty of winter, the winter in Narnia, as some kind of introduction of the
incredible world full of adventures, mythical creatures and magic. Next to the lamp post she met

This is situational irony because when people toast they are celebrating in a way, and the fact that the

This is situational irony because, that is the attire that he wears when he fools them into letting him

Rent Control Advantages
As a landlord or tenant, they should know what rent control is and the advantages and disadvantages
of it. Rent control is a government control of the amounts charged for rented housing
(Dictionary.com). It regulates the maximum rent price, how much rent can go up, and what options are
available to tenant who love in rental properties that need repairs (Apartment Ratings).
The goal of rent control is to make affordable housing available for lower income residents (Ink Niche
Insight + Analysis). Rent control limits the amount a landlord can freely increase rent. A landlord can
only raise rent once a year and the percentage of increase is not very high (Enlighten Me). This helps
the tenant ease having their rent go up more quickly than their income. Tenants are protected from
being evicted. The landlords of apartments and houses saw rent go up and the tenants stayed, so they
tried to find a way to evict the tenants in order to raise the rent for the next tenant. Now, cities with
rent control have regulations that require a long complicated process to evict a tenant. For a landlord,
rent control can be a better deal to their tenant, increasing them to be motivated to hold on to where
they are living. This can make a building full of tenants that will not cause much trouble and tenants
who always pay their rent on time. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Housing quality is major disadvantage of rent control. Since their income is limited due to rent
control, landlords have little motivation to make improvements or upgrades on their property.
However, a landlord has a specific time period to make repairs and if they do not make the repairs fast
enough the tenant can pay for the repairs and take the amount they paid out of their rent
(LandlordBlog). A tenant can take advantage by subleasing to other people and charging more than the
rent costs, which allows them to make a profit

Gonadtrophin Releasing Hormone Research Paper
Gonadtrophin releasing hormone (GnRH) is made in the hypothalamus
GnRH is released into the anterior pituitary gland and here it stimulates the production of follicle
stimulating hormone (FSH) and lutenising hormone (LH).
FSH and LH are able to enter the follicle (a fluid filled cavity that surrounds and protects the
developing egg cell) through the capillaries in the ovaries. The cycle begins when the female sheds the
lining of the uterus in a period. This continues for 3 7 days and GnRH is secreted by the hypothalamus
from the first day of the cycle.
There are countless follicles in the ovaries and only some will mature and only one of these will
ovulate and produce an egg.
FSH will enter the follicles and stimulate maturation of the primary ... Show more content on

A secondary corpus luteum develops
Progesterone is the most important hormone as after ovulation (during the luteal phase) progesterone
levels will increase slowly. This will suppress the GnRH release which in turn will diminish the
release of LH and FSH (these hormones are not required at this stage of the cycle).
Having reached its optimum level Oestrogen will now slowly decline.
The main effect of progesterone is that it stimulates endometrium growth if an egg is implanted there.
The follicle will continue to produce progesterone to form a placenta which supplies the foetus with
nutrients from the mother.
The decrease in progesterone and oestrogen means the endometrium will shed its lining. This is a
period.
If ovulation does not occur the corpus luteum degenerates to allow a new set of follicles to mature.
All the hormones produced by the corpus luteum will decrease.
Progesterone will decrease during degeneration so it will not be able to inhibit GnRH release so
GnRH levels will rise and this will allow a new cycle to commence as FSH and LH are secreted into
the ovarian capillaries.
This 28 day cycle will now re commence as it is

Howard Roark In Ayn Rand s The Fountainhead
Ayn Rand, the author of the Fountainhead book has well presented her great philosophy about
Objectivism respectively and mostly through those two characters: Howard Roark and Peter Keating.
In her writing she has described Howard Roark as the hero in the story. His struggle to succeed as an
architect on his own develops the essence of the novel s conflict. Roark s personality serves as a
standard by which to judge the other characters; they are either like Roark or they would allow others
in one form or another, to manipulate them. Ayn Rand portrays Roark as a selfish man, in a positive
sense meaning that Roark will not accept anyone influencing his life. He is true to his values, to his
convictions, to his thinking, to his mind, and to his

Theme Of The Man Who Loved Flowers
The short story The Man Who Loved Flowers by Stephen King, is told by a third person omniscient
narrator. This is illustrated when the narrator describes the characters as the pronouns he and her and

quote it is clear to see that he uses the pronouns he and her .

Three Principles Of Distributive Justice
People see distributive justice through different views. The distribution of goods (or attention, praise,
etc.) is analyzed in different ways by different people. There are three principles of distributive justice,
these principles are equity, equality and need. Equity pertains to people getting goods or rewards in
direct relation to the work they put in or what is perceived to be of greater importance. For example, a
star player in the pro league may deserve higher pay then his/her teammate who warms the bench.
Though the two earn different amounts of salary, there is distributive justice (equity) in that they are
being fairly paid in correspondence to their contributions to the team. Equality on the other hand,
means equal rewards for everyone ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It can be said that altruism is the opposite of selfishness. One who is altruistic is concerned with the
welfare of others without expectations of anything in return. ABS CBN s slogan: In the Service of the
Filipino Worldwide comes off as very altruistic. I mean, they are for the service of all Filipinos with
no intention of getting anything in return right? Maybe. Maybe not. This is not to say that ABS CBN
does not actually care for the Filipino people. As with many psychological theories and concepts, the
psychology of helping is complex and multi faceted. For one, there are different motivations to why
people help. Let us discuss these in relation to ABS CBN s slogan. Apart from altruism, there are three
other kinds of motivations. Collectivism in regard to helping is serving the community to benefit a
certain group or collective of people. The group can range from 2 people to 2 billion. When one is part
of a group, there is a tendency to not only want to help and better your group, there is a tendency to
feel indebted to help simply because you are part of the group. Either way it is the motivation to help
because of being part of particular collection of people. ABS CBN can easily have collectivism as its
motive, wanting to enhance and empower the Filipino people and society of which they belong to as a
corporation. Their slogan can be seen as valuing the welfare of the Filipino people, a collective ABS

Microeconomics Is The Branch Of Economics That Studies And...
Microeconomics is the branch of economics that studies and analyzes the market behavior of both
individual firms and consumers, that help to understand the decision making process of those
individuals. Microeconomics analyzes the relationships between both the buyers and sellers as it
studies the factors that influence both parties. Microeconomics focuses on the supply and demand of
products and how small businesses price those items. Macroeconomics, however, focuses on the
national s economy as a whole and the basics of the business world. The main building blocks that
make up microeconomics include: market structures, supply and demand, price elasticity, scarcity,
marginal benefit, and marginal cost.
During the initial phase of starting up a business, one of the major factors to consider is the type of
market the business owner desires to be in. The four major market structures include, perfect
competition, monopolistic competition, oligopoly, and monopoly. Each market has positive and
negative attributes the business owners must account for. Business owners must also know the number
of different sellers there are in a particular market, they must be able to handle the stress of running a
business, and they must have a keen eye on the fluctuating prices in the market. Many entrepreneurs
do not do enough research on their local economy, which ultimately leads to their failure. Both a
monopoly and an oligopoly market are among the top rated due to their high profit rates.

Introduction
In the realm of anxiety disorders, research on younger populations falls behind in comparison to
studies on anxiety disorders in adults. (Mohr Schneider, 2013) Anxiety is one of the most common
psychiatric disorders among school age children, and yet there is still so much more to be known
about its development and treatment. (Kessler et al., 2005). Anxiety in school age children can be an
issue that interferes with achievement in school. The constant interference can cause disruption in a
child s ability retain and process information as well as focus in the classroom. (Semple, Lee, Rosa,
Miller, 2010). Anxiety in children often manifests as a disruption in attention. In turn, the
consequential lack of success in school can lead to more anxiety due to a student s negative self
judgment (Gordon, 1977). This circle of cognitive interference in school and the following negative
self judgment by the child is one that can lead to increasing levels of anxiety. There have been
multiple forms of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) that have shown some promise as treatments for
childhood anxiety (Sullkowski, Joyce, Storch, 2011). However with an increasing prevalence of
childhood psychiatric disorders, there is still somewhat of lack of research in to the use of
psychological interventions to treat them (Semple, Reid, Miller, 2005). There have been studies on the
uses of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in children. A majority of the studies on the uses of CBT

The importance of reflective teaching Be a reflective teacher. Honestly look at what you do from time

but important cliché for a teacher´s career: a teacher has to be a life long learner to be an effective
teacher. Research on effective teaching over the past two decades has proved that effective practice is
related to questioning, reflection and continuous professional development. Reflective practice can be
a satisfying experience for a teacher evolution. It covers self analysis, questioning one owns methods,
assumptions about learning, theories as well as one´s attitudes and behaviour as a facilitator and

Roine Stolt adds: It is not aiming at being new Yes music; just new music, modern and classical, rock

Analysis On The Digital Age Insurance
1 Abstract
In today s Digital Age Insurance companies generate and gather data each minute, hour and day.
Every individual in these organizations starting at the top from executives, departmental decision
makers, to underwriters, claims adjusters and call center workers hope to learn things from collected
data that can help them make better decisions for the organization, take smarter actions and operate
more efficiently leading to Profitability.
The Biggest challenge the Insurance companies face begins when they begin extracting meaningful
insights from this explosion of data. Determining how to take advantage of all this data to price better,
expand markets and improve underwriting risk and handing claims. Fortunately, the science of
extracting insight from data is constantly evolving. Regardless of how much data you have, one of the
best ways to discern important relationships is through data visualization.
Data visualization, where information is presented in a pictorial or graphical format, is helping
insurance professionals see things that were not obvious to them before. Insurance companies analyze
historical data which includes information from policy administration solutions, underwriting
applications and billing systems to forecast and predict future losses.
2 Introduction:
Underwriting is one of the important processes in insurance operations. The applicant s information,
including various kinds of medical information, must be evaluated before the insurance

Question 1: What are the arguments for and against reframing labour rights as human rights?
Demonstrate your familiarity with the discussion set out in the course materials.
Introduction
The publication of the Unfair Advantage by the Worker s Freedom of Association in the United States
saw a major turn on Human Rights watch in the Labour ministry all over the world. Countries such as
Canada and Australia came into the lime light in the fight for labour struggles as human rights. This
move was aimed at revitalization of the labour movement. It is a move that saw the International
Human Rights Day declared a holiday as it is does Labour Day. The advocates on the human rights
approach work hand in hand with the human rights allies of the inexorable internationalization of the
labour struggles. They allowed the naming and shaming of the labour laws abusers and infringement.
These acts were more responsive to the current political and economic zeitgeist than the traditional
labour influences. On the other hand, reframing of human rights was seen to result to authoritativeness
to the labour discourse that would undermine trade unionists. While the voices of those advocating for
the framing of human rights was loud enough, others saw this move as misplaced. It was a fact that the
replacement of solidarity and the unity that was the anchor for labour justice would be gone. It simply
meant the end

Analysis Of The Film Life Is Beautiful
The movie Life is beautiful falls into two parts. The first is beautiful romantic comedy while the other
makes the viewer want to smile but cry at the same time. Roberto Benigni, who also directed and co
wrote the movie, stars as Guido, a hotel waiter in Italy in the 1930s. Watching his adventures, we are
reminded of the legendary Chaplin. The film starts in a scene where Guido arrives in town in a
runaway car with failed brakes and is mistaken for a visiting dignitary. He falls in love instantly with
the beautiful Dora (Nicoletta Braschi, Benigni s real life wife). He becomes the undeclared rival of her
fiance, the Fascist town clerk. He makes friends with the German doctor (Horst Buchholz) who is a
regular guest at the hotel and shares his love of riddles. And by the fantastic manipulation of carefully
planned coincidences, he makes it appear that he is fated to replace the dour Fascist in Dora s life.
Dora who was arranged to be married by the Fascist town clerk suddenly starts to have second
thoughts but because of Guido s charisma and suave she literarily leaves with Guido on a horse during
her engagement party and in one scene even conspires to meet him on the floor under a banquet table;
they kiss, and she whispers, Take me away! . All of this early material, the first long act of the movie,

our children than they are right now. A film where it teaches people history and the two sides of

Ireland in 1729 was a dark and horrific time period for all civilians. Extreme poverty surrounded the
country along with overpopulation. Satirist, Jonathan Swift was sincere with his proposal, and
continued to approach the problem with creating a solution he thought seemed fit. To begin, he
recognized the concern of poverty, the future of young children, and accomplished his proposal on
how to decrease the population, backing up his idea with statistics and reason. As Swift saw the

The streets, crowded with female beggars, followed by five or six children, all in rags, and
importuning every passenger for an alms (P1). Due to the children burdening their mothers, this
restricted the parents to find an honest living, forcing them into this lifestyle. Using statistics to
explain further how serious this problem was. To acquire this information, Swift did a census to
calculate the population, which proceeded to research more saying there was thirty thousand couples

The Is A Spiritual Journey Of A Student s Education
Generativity Versus Stagnation Formation occurs in every aspect of a student s education. Students are
formed by all they do, read, perceive, and interpret. This includes their taken for granted assumptions
and expectations. Formation occurs in the gaps as one values the questions (Benner et al., 2010) and
attending during these gaps can break the habit of hearing only what we already understand
(Heidegger , 1971, p. 54). Palmer (2009) described a tragic gap, the space between hard realities and
what one knows to be possible. Transformational: Core Strength Spirituality The transformational
development from learner to leader is a spiritual journey. It is a renewing of the mind. It is an
awakening to and acceptance of multiple ways of knowing Truth. It is a transformational process of
becoming which is a singularly powerful lived experience. More importantly, this spiritual journey is a
deconstruction and reconstruction of self; it is a movement from individualistic academic pursuit
toward scholarship embodied. The process and processes by which learners develop into leaders are
critically important to advancing the global health and education priorities of the 21st century. The
globalization and interconnectedness of industry, healthcare, and education in higher learning
institutions demand the development of astute, inspired, and effectual thought leaders. According to

The Biomedical Excellence For Safer Transfusion
Blood transfusions can be a life sustaining medical procedure; yet its significance has been neglected.
Like many procedures, the risk of potentially harmful complications are vast, however in healthcare
the consequence of a mistake is death. For instance, when an acute hemolytic reaction can occur when
a patient receives incompatible blood. The symptoms of which include pain, chills, fever, tachycardia,
hypotension, and even renal failure (Kessler, 2013). Human error has required hospitals to implement

These protocols consist of many rights , which ensure correct identity and blood product. Nurses are

However, misidentification is the main dilemma for most transfusion errors during blood sample
collection. This can include patients not being identified correctly during the time of the blood
sampling or transfusion administration, or the mislabeling of products such as tubes or the blood unit.
Many patients worry about blood transfusions being contaminated with disease when they should be
worrying about the completely preventable fatal reactions healthcare members can hinder. With close
attention and hospital enforcement of strict procedure guidelines, safety and accuracy throughout the
transfusion process is possible.
Several healthcare associations have taken interest in minimizing misidentification. Many have even
taken steps to help diminish frequency. The Joint Commission has issued a national safety patient goal
that states Eliminate transfusion errors related to patient misidentification. The elements of
performance for this safety goal include that the following should be done before performing a
transfusion: blood should be matched to the order, the patient should be matched to the blood, and the
patient must correctly be identified. The Joint Commission aims to verify patients quickly and
efficiently. By using a two person identification process they hope precision is easily attainable. The
two identifier check is a widely recommended patient verification process that requires checking the

1. Describe the intervention and detail its history.
Social security was created out of necessity by the United States of America (US) government. One
primary cause attributing to this necessity was due to better health care and sanitation, and the
development of effective ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
2. Analyze the arguments for government intervention as opposed to arguments for market based
solutions. Hint: See the information in our course textbook on market failures.
Without government intervention, the US economy would have continued to be devastated based on
the millions of Americans who lost their jobs, savings disappearances, and the senior citizens having
no source of income when they reached retirement age, (Koba, 2013). The market could not correct
itself from as the Gross National Product was almost cut in half from 1929 to 1932, where recovery
efforts without government intervention would be next to impossible.
3. Examine who may be helped and who may be hurt by the selected government intervention.
Social Security has helped the elderly receive income during their retirement years, and has helped
those who have disabilities from accidents and other disabilities to supplement their income sources.
Social Security takes a portion of income from workers paychecks each month, and pay those
individuals a retirement income based on when they elect to retire and receive this income. This
income makes up of more than half the retirement income of more than 75 percent of retired
Americans, and continues to help households with their daily living expenses by injecting funds back
into the economy (Osterland, 2014). Oddly enough,

Summary Of The Fires Of Jubilee
In The Fires of Jubilee, Stephen B. Oates takes the story of Nat Turner s slave rebellion and
insurrection attempt in Southampton County, Virginia. With detail account from Thomas R. Gray s
interview with Nat, and historical eye witness testimonies, Oates really brings Nat Turner s upbringing
and his fierce rebellion to life. From the story that you get from the South after Nat s rebellion was one
of harmony between slaves and their masters. That Virginia and the rest of the South was appalled that
something like this could happen. From blaming everything from abolitionist to Quakers, Southerners
never wanted to admit that the institution of slavery was the cause of Nat s rebellion. During Gray s
interview with Nat Turner, he spoke for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By this time people of Virginia believed he had escaped. But when Nat made himself seen at someone
he thought he could trust they knew he was in the area. Nat was caught in a hole made by a fallen tree,
he was fixing his cover when he looked up and was caught by Benjamin Phipps. Nat while in jail
learned of the fates of his Lieutenants . All were tried and hanged, this too would be the fate of Nat
Turner. Nat was also flayed, beheaded and quartered to serve as an example to would be black rebels.
In the aftermath of the rebellion, Virginia legislatures used the colonization bill against free blacks to
remove them from the Commonwealth of Virginia. Also, they used the police bill that would deny free
blacks the right to a fair trial. Some 56 black people were executed by the state after the rebellion.
Also led to the debate that slavery was needed for the positive good. Many southerners debated that if
emancipation were to happen, many whites would be

Pain And Treatment Of Pain
Pain
Pain can be defined in three different forms. The initial and the minimal contact with the damaging
stimuli can be described as the warning for the physiological protective system. This initial stage is
called the nociceptive pain. The warning system demands immediate response and causes immediate
withdrawal from the painful or damaging stimulus (Woolf 1).Second type of pain is called
inflammatory pain, this type of pain activates when the person feels the pain and it is necessary to heal
the injured tissues. Pain tenderness and hypersensitivity reduces future risk for the damage and side by
side promotes recovery (Woolf 1).The third and last type of pain is not protective in fact it is
maladaptive. This is known as pathological pain. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Woolf the mind also perceive false signals for pain (Woolf 1). The feeling of pain is
essential for survival. Pain is the first indicator of any tissue injury. Any stimulus that results in injury
or wound leads to a sensation of pain, heat, cold, the pressure, the electric current, the chemical
irritants and even the sudden movements. Unlike other sensory systems, however, the sensory system
to the pain is extremely broad; a painful sensation can be started in any part of the body or the central
nervous system (CNS). Various locations are paired to various kinds of sensations of pain (Fields 10).
Your perception is clearly a rich and multidimensional experience, which varies so much in quality as
in sensory intensity, as well as in their affective motivational characteristics. Without doubt, the
feeling of pain is an important field domain of human experience and perhaps that you have,
continuously and with more success, eluded numerous attempts at conceptualization consistent
quantification, or even systematic documentation, for generations of specialists of different areas of
knowledge. Its complexity and multidimensional nature, which are evident even in the elementary
analysis of the various types of pain, have virtually blocked the development of an adequate definition
of pain that is the more important, hampered the construction of a General theory of the pain, as well
as the

Theories Of Finding Nemo
Personality Theories Essay over the movie Finding Nemo
The purpose of this essay is to watch the movie and try to view the main character from three
personality theorists perspectives. In the movie Finding Nemo, Marlin was a clown fish who lost his
son, Nemo, in the vast ocean. Along his journey to find his son, he ran into Dory, a blue tang fish who
suffered from short term memory loss. Dory provided moral support and comfort in this search that
Marlin has been missing for years. This essay will analyze Dory in the movie Finding Nemo through
Carl Rogers self actualization theory, Maslow s Hierarchy of needs, and Friedman and Rosenman s
personality behavior type.

Maslow s Hierarchy of Needs
Maslow s hierarchy of needs is a systematic arrangement of needs according to priority in which basic
needs must be met before less basic needs are aroused. At the point in the movie where Dory meets
Marlin, Dory was stuck on the second level of Maslow s pyramid because she lacked in needs of love
and belongingness that is necessary to climb up higher on the hierarchy of needs.
When she is introduced in the movie, she had no love, no family, no self esteem, and was only
concerned about the basic needs in life like safety and security. At the point in the movie where Marin
pulls her out of the jellyfish, Dory progressed to the third level of the pyramid because in her
dedicated pursue to aid and assist Marlin, they had developed a relationship. Marlin then accepted
Dory and she felt a sense of affiliation and acceptance. Dory was then able to progress through the rest
of Maslow s hierarchy of needs.
Friedman and Rosenman Behavior Type pattern
In Finding Nemo, Dory had a type B personality because she was normally very easy going and
relaxed. A type B personality is defined as a child ego state characterized by a form of behavior
associated by Friedman and Rosenman with people who appear free of hostility and aggression and
who lack a compulsion to meet deadlines, are not highly competitive at work and play, and have a
lower risk of heart attack (Farlex, 2012). In many parts of the movie, you could see

Collage Attendance
Some students in collage they think the attendance it is not important. In fact, the attendance in collage
is big issue because some students there are don t come to class. Some teachers don t put the
attendance in grade and the students don t come because don t have grade. The attendance important
for some student who want to higher gpa. Should attendance in classes be mandatory in collage for
many reasons. Such as, to learn new knowledge and how want to complete their study in high level.
The first reason is why attendance in class be mandatory because to learn new knowledge and
different subject. Students who study scientific they not necessary they take only scientific they can
take anything. For example, students who their major accounting they can take sociology or history to
know about new knowledge and they know more about the different between the subject. Also,
students are come to classes not for learn but for stay with their friends. For example, when ... Show

However, the attendance is important if they don t come you will take a warning in all classes and you
will take the end of class FA or F. Also, this grade is not good for you in the future when you want to
work in a good company. The attendance will help you more in the end of class because some teacher
put the grade like a bonus for us. In conclusion, students should come to classes every day to know
about their subject and take a high degree. The degree with a high grade is a very good for their future.
I suggest students to come to their classes even to no be a problem with their parents. When the
students don t come to classes and take a FA or F their gpa will decrease and the collage will call their
parents about the students didn t come to classes, but their parents see the students go to college every

Human-Like Characteristics Of Grendel s Mother In Beowulf
Beowulf
its nothing like your mothers love Grendel s mother in Beowulf has a lot of human like characteristics.
She doesn t grieve she seeks revenge for her son. She displays it by loving Grendel even after all the
chaos and evil he causes. Grendel s mother is an antagonist along with Grendel, She displays human
like characteristics by showing Grief over her son being killed.
Revenge is the first characteristic we are going to discuss. Grendel s mother in the epic poem was not
visual to the public she usually just stayed in her den. Grendel spent most of his days causing chaos
because of how happiness made him feel. He(Grendel)took out most of his anger by killing the people
in the hall where the people of the town celebrated. When Beowulf came to the town and killed
Grendel by ripping his arms off his mother came to do the same. Grendel mother was infuriated and
wanted to find the person who killed her son and do the same to them. She attempted to stab Beowulf
with a dagger during the story after she attacked the town and Beowulf and his men pursued her. Herot
was her playground for one night but that night was when Beowulf ... Show more content on

When Grendel was killed his mother showed sympathy by crying and grieving for the little time she
did. Grendel s mother wasn t really the person to actually just cry about it she felt as if action should
have been taken and that form of action is revenge we have discussed how she showed revenge in the
first paragraph. Grendel mother killed one of Herot s people to try to fill the empty space in here heart.
Along with Grendel s mother sympathizing Grendel sympathized about things such as the love he had
for his mom. Grendel had more love for his mom than he did he did anything else. We can only infer
that based off of the information we have from the

Napping Argumentative Performance Task
When people work or do something too much, they get tired, so they take a nap. A nap is good thing to
because it can take the sleepy thing for you. I m going to talk about naps being good for you. The
information that I got from is Napping Argumentative Performance Task. First, naps may provide a
alertness and performance, but that s a short term boost of it. Not all of the benefits can provide from
taking a nap. The NASA wanting to know, if astronauts should take naps, so they did this with
volunteers. The results was that napping can improve memory, but not alertness. But, other people that
work can improve their memory, by taking a nap. I got this from Source 1 and 2. Second, according to
source 2, it says that people tend to

  • 2. The Strategies For Development Today Strategies for Development Today Different views on development that are seen today are based on the previous lessons learned from strategies used in the past. Protectionism was a strategy used in the past where countries created steep barriers for imports from other countries. They used this strategy to help protect their starting industries. Countries didn t open up international market competition until they were sure they were ready to compete profitably against them. This strategy worked successfully for the United States, Germany, and Japan. In the second half of the twentieth century, modern day strategies for development were of influence. Dominant strategies for development used today are import substitution, state socialism, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The goal was to catch up their technology with international producers to lower trade barriers over time. Another advantage of import substitution was the balance of payments. Since the country produced domestic goods that were once imported, this led to more imports of technology without causing a deficit. Although import substitution did work out for some countries, it did have its weaknesses towards the late twentieth century. These countries shifted from agriculture production to manufacturing goods, which increased global agricultural prices and put food importers in a tough situation. Another problem was that the domestic production of these countries did not become competitive with the international markets. Small consumer markets could not reach the production of important goods for the economies of larger domestic markets or international markets. Also, since domestic producers do not have competition from foreign producers this reduces the motivation for technology improvement. This did not prepare firms for the international market, instead it made them remain incompetent or weak. When the state allocates market resources instead of allowing the market to regulate the supply and demand of the resources is an alternative strategy for development called state socialism. This strategy spread after World War II to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Hanger Times Gravity Normal force is the force the surface exerts on an object and since the hanger was not on the ground the normal force is 0. The normal force is mgcosθ because if the surface was flat the normal force would be equal to the force of the object (mg), but since the wooden block was on an inclined plane I had to account for the angle. To find the coefficient of friction I first found the tension in the string. I did this by using the top equation. Sine the Fn is 0 I was left with tension (Fy) minus the mass of the hanger times gravity = mass times acceleration (Fy mg = ma). I knew that the hanger was moving at constant speed, so the acceleration was 0. Since the acceleration was zero I was left with tension minus the mass of the hanger times gravity(9.8) which means the tension equals the mass of the hanger times gravity ( Fy = 9.8 x .037 Tension = .363N). Fy 0 9.8(.037) = .037(0) I then substituted values into the second equation. Fx = .363 ( Tension) and 1.06124sin(29.5°) = .523 . mg = 9.8 x .10829 = 1.06124 Fn = 1.0624cos(29.5) = .924 a = 0 ( moving at constant speed) .363 μ(.924) + .523 = 0 μ = .173 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I made the tension and the Ff (force of friction) negative because they were opposing the block s motion. To find the angle I used trig identity. Trig identity is two equations that can only be used if an object is moving at constant speed or on the verge of moving. Since the block was traveling at constant speed I could use μ = tanθ or θ = inverse tangent of μ. I found μ so I did the inverse tangent of it and found that the angle that the block would slid down at constant speed with no outside forces was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Notes On Purchasing Power Parity Purchasing power Parity (PPP), is a theory stating that the unit of one currency should have the same purchasing power as the foreign currency. Following the theory, where the normal exchange rate between two currencies should be the same as the ratio of aggregate price level between them. It can be also called inflation theory of exchange rates as it stands for the theory of a change of price level where as the overriding determinant of exchange rate movements. It is the same status as Quantity theory of money(QT). To make things clear, the dogma of PPP or its alternative Law of one Price (LOOP), states that when goods in the basket expressed in a single currency meaning that they cost the same in all countries. This can be achieved only if the rate or nominal exchange rate is equal to the differences between growth rate. The dental of LOP context is to find the most disaggregate product and price can be readily material provides as strong presumption that it is impossible to assemble available date into aggregate price index which can be expected to obey the LOP. It is introduced in 1918 by Cassel, due to World War I, while there was an international policy debate about the appropriate level for nominal exchange rates among countries after the large scale of inflations. Rogoff (1196), expressed that some economists takes PPP seriously in the Short Run(S/R), but the red variant of PPP, is in the long run exchange rate. Dornbusch and Krugman (1976) also, ... Mary Ann Cotton Research Paper If someone was asked to guess what England s first serial killer may have looked like they would most likely think of a maliciously looking man staring blankly in front of them. In reality, England s first serial killer does not fit the characteristics that one might expect of someone with that label. Mary Ann Cotton was a mother and a wife but contrary to the expectations of a woman and a member of the gentle sex Cotton was also England s first serial killer. English society during the 19th century was shocked at the discovery of the crimes committed by Mary Ann Cotton and as a result she changed the way humans viewed their drive for money as well as their expectations of women. Mary Ann Cotton grew up in a lower class family where they would often struggle to have enough money to feed each themselves. Mary s crimes may have been ways for her to finally have the money that she never had as a child. On several occasions Mary collected insurance money from her victims after killing them which leads investigators to believe her crimes were motivated by her drive for money. One of her first victims was her first husband, William Mowbray and after the death of their 7th child; Mary Ann Cotton encouraged Mowbray to get insurance in case of a sudden death. Not long after the insurance was taken out, William Mowbray died of an intestinal disorder (Anandavism). Mary is suspected of murdering all seven of those children as well as Mowbry, making it clear that this series of murders was most likely a large plot to collect more money. In multiple of her mother murders Mary either collected insurance money or was caught stealing her husband s money before she could kill him. • 6. Ophelia, By William Shakespeare Essay Ophelia is a terminal character in Hamlet, whose death is caused by a lack of self control and self knowledge. Her father controls her life, and when he dies, her life is essentially over. This poses the question: why does the death of Polonius bring on the complete collapse and destruction of Ophelia? Polonius controls Ophelia, and does a substantial amount of her thinking. Without him, she has no direction in her life and no way to express herself as she has been so suppressed her entire life, and all of a sudden she is free. She does not know what to do with herself. It is possible that Hamlet s rejection of Ophelia contributes to her madness, it is possible that her not being a virgin contributes to it, and it is also possible that she has lost all control due to the series of events that have proven her lack of worth in this patriarchal society. This essay will argue that with her father gone, Ophelia no longer knows what to do with her life, and has no intended purpose since no one is invested in her life anymore. In order to clearly understand the dynamics between Polonius and Ophelia, it is crucial to understand Polonius as a person. First, it is important to look at what people in the kingdom, specifically Hamlet, think about him. By comparing the what people think about him and his actions, his character can accurately be predicted. Hamlet appears to be the most reputable character to take opinions from in this instance, because he is not involved in the scandal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Moreover, when a minister came to talk to her, a woman was adamant in her decisions. She represented herself from another side, a side of a self confident strong woman: I ve got my own mind an my own feet, an I m goin to think my own thoughts an go my own ways, an nobody but the Lord is goin to dictate to me unless I ve a mind to have him (Freeman 19). If the husband earned enough money, then he can spend money for a new barn and new house. All the earnings a father spends on a stock, food and kids. He had lots of possibilities to build a new house for the past forty years. Instead of that, he decided to waste money on four more cows. Consequently, they should have managed money appropriately. • 10. Karen Horney And Iurotic Theories Personally, I liked multiple theorists but I didn t really like everything they spoke about. In the beginning, Karen Horney s views on the three different neurotic trends and how she perceived basic anxiety. Yet, I also liked the way Raymond Cattell brokedown and organized personality traits and the way Carl Rogers broke down actualization into becoming a fully functioning person. I see that all of their theories had valid point of views on the mind and personality. Those three were the ones that stuck with me while learning about them. Although some of the theories may not be directly compatible, I think what they believed made sense. Karen Horney s neurotic needs and trends made a lot of sense to me initially due to her views on basic anxiety which lead to neurotic trends. Although, I can see the flaws in it, the basic foundation of her theory clicked with me. She believed that in childhood, we have four basic mechanisms to protect against anxiety: securing affection, being submissive, attaining power, and withdrawing. If any of these mechanisms become ingrained in our personality, it leads to them becoming neurotic needs: affection/approval, dominant partner, power, exploitation, prestige, admiration, achievement/ambition, self sufficiency, perfection, and narrow limits to life. These are irrational ways that a person may protect themselves from anxiety as an adult. These needs are capable of being further categorized into three trends: compliant, aggressive, or detached ... • 11. Sigmund Freud s Civilization And Its Discontents Sigmund Freud, in his book Civilization and Its Discontents, contests that humans are subject to savage, animalistic instincts. He opposes the Marxist value that humans are superior to their animal counterparts, rather, he holds, humans are quite like wolves to each other. With this claim, he explores how internal compositions work in the grand scheme, to create a working mechanism of society that tames and creates internal negotiations of behaviour and instinct. (also include what comes of the last question) Freud, a psychologist, had views that were at odds with Marxist values, derived from a philosopher and economist. Their views on what drives human nature are fundamentally different. Freud adhered to the belief that humans are enslaved by their instinctive forces. This is to say that humans are driven to seek out pleasure. Marx, on the other hand, believed that humans are motivated by their place in society through labour. His core value was the division of labor, and how it structures society. Freud understood man in a Darwinian sense, that man comes from natural selection, in the sense that Darwin insisted on its [homo sapiens] kinship with lesser cousins and observed that the stamp of [its] lowly origin was quite ineffaceable (12). This contrasts with the Marxist assumption that humans are different from animals, the belief in human exceptionalism. One Hunahph s head is placed in the fork of a Calabash tree and his body is buried with his brothers. The southern most states generally don t have to worry about it, but anything can happen as you travel farther north. I have had first hand experience with crazy winter weather since I live in Michigan. In past years my school has been close to extending the school year, but have never actually had to do so. I believe if there has been a very significant amount of school canceled then a combination of actions should be taken. First, a certain amount of extra school should be added on to the year if the winter was severe enough, but should not exceed a week or maybe two. The reason the school year should not exceed two extra weeks is because motivation of students would decline drastically. • 14. Advertisements Are Our Current Society Advertisements are ubiquitous in our current society. From billboards near highways to commercials on TVs, they vary in many different ways. Some of them are simple and easy to understand, while others try to convey a plethora of information in the shortest amount of time possible. Despite their variations in forms and style, all advertisements are crafted with a common goal: to convince the audience of something. Many people believe that to convince someone of something, it requires factual evidence that logically leads them to a particular conclusion. In fact, in language, to prove something is true, sometimes it only requires the audience to believe in the speaker s utterances. As a form of communication, advertisements often use this strategy to accomplish their goals. In a recent political commercial regarding gun rights, it attempts to convince the audience implicitly to not vote for Hillary Clinton in the Presidential Election in 2016, which entails the audience should vote for the alternative candidate, Donald Trump. Instead of providing factual evidence, the commercial manipulates both communicative and natural meaning of sentences to establish credibility and induce certain beliefs that force the audience to conclude not voting for Hillary Clinton and voting for Donald Trump. The commercial begins with a woman sleeping at night in her home. Suddenly, she heard the sound of an intruder. She quickly got out of bed and reached for the phone. Then, the speaker of the ... Here a special attention should be paid to music which plays an extremely significant role in this scene. While children were looking for a place running through the house we can hear a lively, energetic and cheerful song, but when Lucy entered the room with this wardrobe music changed completely so the audience understand at once that this is as special place, where the magic happens. Rent control is a government control of the amounts charged for rented housing (Dictionary.com). It regulates the maximum rent price, how much rent can go up, and what options are available to tenant who love in rental properties that need repairs (Apartment Ratings). The goal of rent control is to make affordable housing available for lower income residents (Ink Niche Insight + Analysis). Rent control limits the amount a landlord can freely increase rent. A landlord can only raise rent once a year and the percentage of increase is not very high (Enlighten Me). This helps the tenant ease having their rent go up more quickly than their income. Tenants are protected from being evicted. The landlords of apartments and houses saw rent go up and the tenants stayed, so they tried to find a way to evict the tenants in order to raise the rent for the next tenant. Now, cities with rent control have regulations that require a long complicated process to evict a tenant. Gonadtrophin Releasing Hormone Research Paper Gonadtrophin releasing hormone (GnRH) is made in the hypothalamus GnRH is released into the anterior pituitary gland and here it stimulates the production of follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and lutenising hormone (LH). FSH and LH are able to enter the follicle (a fluid filled cavity that surrounds and protects the developing egg cell) through the capillaries in the ovaries. The cycle begins when the female sheds the lining of the uterus in a period. This continues for 3 7 days and GnRH is secreted by the hypothalamus from the first day of the cycle. There are countless follicles in the ovaries and only some will mature and only one of these will ovulate and produce an egg. FSH will enter the follicles and stimulate maturation of the primary ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A secondary corpus luteum develops Progesterone is the most important hormone as after ovulation (during the luteal phase) progesterone levels will increase slowly. This will suppress the GnRH release which in turn will diminish the release of LH and FSH (these hormones are not required at this stage of the cycle). Having reached its optimum level Oestrogen will now slowly decline. The main effect of progesterone is that it stimulates endometrium growth if an egg is implanted there. The follicle will continue to produce progesterone to form a placenta which supplies the foetus with nutrients from the mother. The decrease in progesterone and oestrogen means the endometrium will shed its lining. This is a period. If ovulation does not occur the corpus luteum degenerates to allow a new set of follicles to mature. All the hormones produced by the corpus luteum will decrease. Progesterone will decrease during degeneration so it will not be able to inhibit GnRH release so GnRH levels will rise and this will allow a new cycle to commence as FSH and LH are secreted into the ovarian capillaries.

This is not to say that ABS CBN does not actually care for the Filipino people. As with many psychological theories and concepts, the psychology of helping is complex and multi faceted. For one, there are different motivations to why people help. Let us discuss these in relation to ABS CBN s slogan. Apart from altruism, there are three other kinds of motivations. Collectivism in regard to helping is serving the community to benefit a certain group or collective of people. The group can range from 2 people to 2 billion. When one is part of a group, there is a tendency to not only want to help and better your group, there is a tendency to feel indebted to help simply because you are part of the group. Microeconomics is the branch of economics that studies and analyzes the market behavior of both individual firms and consumers, that help to understand the decision making process of those individuals. Microeconomics analyzes the relationships between both the buyers and sellers as it studies the factors that influence both parties. Microeconomics focuses on the supply and demand of products and how small businesses price those items. Macroeconomics, however, focuses on the national s economy as a whole and the basics of the business world. The main building blocks that make up microeconomics include: market structures, supply and demand, price elasticity, scarcity, marginal benefit, and marginal cost. During the initial phase of starting up a business, one of the major factors to consider is the type of market the business owner desires to be in. The four major market structures include, perfect competition, monopolistic competition, oligopoly, and monopoly. Each market has positive and negative attributes the business owners must account for. Business owners must also know the number of different sellers there are in a particular market, they must be able to handle the stress of running a business, and they must have a keen eye on the fluctuating prices in the market. Many entrepreneurs do not do enough research on their local economy, which ultimately leads to their failure. Introduction In the realm of anxiety disorders, research on younger populations falls behind in comparison to studies on anxiety disorders in adults. (Mohr Schneider, 2013) Anxiety is one of the most common psychiatric disorders among school age children, and yet there is still so much more to be known about its development and treatment. (Kessler et al., 2005). Anxiety in school age children can be an issue that interferes with achievement in school. The constant interference can cause disruption in a child s ability retain and process information as well as focus in the classroom. (Semple, Lee, Rosa, Miller, 2010). Anxiety in children often manifests as a disruption in attention. In turn, the consequential lack of success in school can lead to more anxiety due to a student s negative self judgment (Gordon, 1977). This circle of cognitive interference in school and the following negative self judgment by the child is one that can lead to increasing levels of anxiety. There have been multiple forms of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) that have shown some promise as treatments for childhood anxiety (Sullkowski, Joyce, Storch, 2011). However with an increasing prevalence of childhood psychiatric disorders, there is still somewhat of lack of research in to the use of psychological interventions to treat them (Semple, Reid, Miller, 2005). Introduction The publication of the Unfair Advantage by the Worker s Freedom of Association in the United States saw a major turn on Human Rights watch in the Labour ministry all over the world. Countries such as Canada and Australia came into the lime light in the fight for labour struggles as human rights. This move was aimed at revitalization of the labour movement. It is a move that saw the International Human Rights Day declared a holiday as it is does Labour Day. The advocates on the human rights approach work hand in hand with the human rights allies of the inexorable internationalization of the labour struggles. They allowed the naming and shaming of the labour laws abusers and infringement. These acts were more responsive to the current political and economic zeitgeist than the traditional labour influences. On the other hand, reframing of human rights was seen to result to authoritativeness to the labour discourse that would undermine trade unionists. • 41. The Is A Spiritual Journey Of A Student s Education Generativity Versus Stagnation Formation occurs in every aspect of a student s education. Students are formed by all they do, read, perceive, and interpret. This includes their taken for granted assumptions and expectations. Formation occurs in the gaps as one values the questions (Benner et al., 2010) and attending during these gaps can break the habit of hearing only what we already understand (Heidegger , 1971, p. 54). Palmer (2009) described a tragic gap, the space between hard realities and what one knows to be possible. Transformational: Core Strength Spirituality The transformational development from learner to leader is a spiritual journey. It is a renewing of the mind. It is an awakening to and acceptance of multiple ways of knowing Truth. It is a transformational process of becoming which is a singularly powerful lived experience. More importantly, this spiritual journey is a deconstruction and reconstruction of self; it is a movement from individualistic academic pursuit toward scholarship embodied. The process and processes by which learners develop into leaders are critically important to advancing the global health and education priorities of the 21st century. The globalization and interconnectedness of industry, healthcare, and education in higher learning institutions demand the development of astute, inspired, and effectual thought leaders. However, misidentification is the main dilemma for most transfusion errors during blood sample collection. This can include patients not being identified correctly during the time of the blood sampling or transfusion administration, or the mislabeling of products such as tubes or the blood unit. Many patients worry about blood transfusions being contaminated with disease when they should be worrying about the completely preventable fatal reactions healthcare members can hinder. With close attention and hospital enforcement of strict procedure guidelines, safety and accuracy throughout the transfusion process is possible. Several healthcare associations have taken interest in minimizing misidentification. Many have even taken steps to help diminish frequency. The Joint Commission has issued a national safety patient goal that states Eliminate transfusion errors related to patient misidentification. The elements of performance for this safety goal include that the following should be done before performing a transfusion: blood should be matched to the order, the patient should be matched to the blood, and the patient must correctly be identified. The Joint Commission aims to verify patients quickly and efficiently. By using a two person identification process they hope precision is easily attainable. The two identifier check is a widely recommended patient verification process that requires checking the order, blood ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The summary slides above will highlight various topics that will be covered in this presentation backed by supporting research and analysis. 1. Describe the intervention and detail its history. Analyze the arguments for government intervention as opposed to arguments for market based solutions. Hint: See the information in our course textbook on market failures. Without government intervention, the US economy would have continued to be devastated based on the millions of Americans who lost their jobs, savings disappearances, and the senior citizens having no source of income when they reached retirement age, (Koba, 2013). The market could not correct itself from as the Gross National Product was almost cut in half from 1929 to 1932, where recovery efforts without government intervention would be next to impossible. 3. Examine who may be helped and who may be hurt by the selected government intervention. Social Security has helped the elderly receive income during their retirement years, and has helped those who have disabilities from accidents and other disabilities to supplement their income sources. Social Security takes a portion of income from workers paychecks each month, and pay those individuals a retirement income based on when they elect to retire and receive this income. This income makes up of more than half the retirement income of more than 75 percent of retired Americans, and continues to help households with their daily living expenses by injecting funds back into the economy (Osterland, 2014). • 45. Pain And Treatment Of Pain Pain Pain can be defined in three different forms. The initial and the minimal contact with the damaging stimuli can be described as the warning for the physiological protective system. This initial stage is called the nociceptive pain. The warning system demands immediate response and causes immediate withdrawal from the painful or damaging stimulus (Woolf 1).Second type of pain is called inflammatory pain, this type of pain activates when the person feels the pain and it is necessary to heal the injured tissues. Pain tenderness and hypersensitivity reduces future risk for the damage and side by side promotes recovery (Woolf 1).The third and last type of pain is not protective in fact it is maladaptive. Without doubt, the feeling of pain is an important field domain of human experience and perhaps that you have, continuously and with more success, eluded numerous attempts at conceptualization consistent quantification, or even systematic documentation, for generations of specialists of different areas of knowledge. Maslow s Hierarchy of Needs Maslow s hierarchy of needs is a systematic arrangement of needs according to priority in which basic needs must be met before less basic needs are aroused. At the point in the movie where Dory meets Marlin, Dory was stuck on the second level of Maslow s pyramid because she lacked in needs of love and belongingness that is necessary to climb up higher on the hierarchy of needs. When she is introduced in the movie, she had no love, no family, no self esteem, and was only concerned about the basic needs in life like safety and security. At the point in the movie where Marin pulls her out of the jellyfish, Dory progressed to the third level of the pyramid because in her dedicated pursue to aid and assist Marlin, they had developed a relationship. Marlin then accepted Dory and she felt a sense of affiliation and acceptance. Dory was then able to progress through the rest of Maslow s hierarchy of needs. Friedman and Rosenman Behavior Type pattern In Finding Nemo, Dory had a type B personality because she was normally very easy going and relaxed. A type B personality is defined as a child ego state characterized by a form of behavior associated by Friedman and Rosenman with people who appear free of hostility and aggression and who lack a compulsion to meet deadlines, are not highly competitive at work and play, and have a lower risk of heart attack (Farlex, 2012).
