was that it is a deep sky object, which means that it is far away and dim. This meant that our
photos needed to be taken with high ISO and high exposure. Specifically, this meant we needed
to follow the first golden rule which is that our first photo should be taken with a thirty second
exposure and the highest ISO the camera had. Before we actually took the photograph, we had to

Within the movie Anne of Green Gables there is a compelling demonstration of the Family
Origin theory. As Anne Shirley grows up and becomes married she is influenced by the parents
who adopted her. As she is adopted by Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert (who are siblings) when
she is eleven years old, she acquires attributes from each of them that are carried on throughout
her life. Although she was adopted as a young teenager she never truly had a family to begin
with so her adoption into this family became her Family of Origin. The boldness and directness
Anne developed came from her mother Marilla whereas her kind, giving, and hardworking
attributes came from her father Matthew. Her father Matthew created a memory in her life as he

In the case we are asked to look at with the two little girls, the office was alerted due to neglect
and issues of locking the children away in order to not have contact with them and avoid
physical discipline. Again having a large amount of experience with this personally I can speak

The juxtaposition of Private Witt and First Sgt. Welsch in The Thin Red Line by Terrence Malick
is used to illustrate the two ways that a man can view the world, in the most basic sense. John
Cottingham also discusses these two ways in his book Philosophy of Religion. Cottingham
describes the two ways as the atheist, who cannot see past the disorganized concatenation of
contingent episodes in his experiences, and fails to find transcendent meaning in his experienceof

Rhetorical Analysis In Barbara Ehrenreich s Cultural baggage, the topic of ethnic heritage is
discussed as the author is responding to an acquaintance asking her what her ethnic background is.
Ehrenreich finds her purpose for writing her essay in making readers aware that no ethnic
background is in fact a background. She takes on a not so common viewpoint of herself as most
people pride themselves in where they came from and the traditions of their culture, rather than
feeling almost embarrassed to claim their background. Ehrenreich claims that she has no ethnic

Ehrenreich was finally able to feel a sense of pride knowing that the race of none marches on. The
author wrote her essay including several references to certain traditions that different cultures
practice. The audience is assumed to have some general knowledge of different cultures, but
nothing to extensive. The author also assumes that the audience is somewhat well educated due to
the higher level word choices she makes. Ehrenreich is describing her realization of heritage to her
audience in the possible hopes that the readers can either relate in some way or share some of the
excitement that she does in her own ethnicity, or lack of. Ehrenreich was able to make her point that
she does in fact have an ethnicity other than Scottish, English and Irish. It was intriguing to see the
progression in the essay from the authors feeling of disconnect with her heritage to a sense of pride
in her family that refrains from carrying on cultural activities. She recognizes where she came from
and concludes that no tradition is a tradition, rather than trying to

Buddhism And Its Views On Buddhism
Buddhism is one of the major religions of the world; it was founded in India and is based on the
teachings of Siddhartha Gautama, Buddha, or the Enlightened One/Awakened One. Buddhism is
non theistic and is not based on any concept of a supreme or one ruling God. A Buddhist approach
is a naturalistic one and the sole purpose of the followers is to end or reduce suffering (dukkha)
and attain a state of liberation or enlightenment and the freedom from the cycle of death and rebirth
(Nirvana). Buddhist are their own Buddha and the answers of the world will not end their suffering
but within themselves they are capable of reaching nirvana. Buddhismhas two major points of view
that differ in their telling of Buddha and claim to be the correct story.1 Theravadin is considered
the more conservative view and Mahayanais considered the more creative view, these two views
tell the story of Buddha and the followers believe their version is the correct version. These
differing views make up the religion of Buddhism and the followers carry out the word of their
branch. The view of Theravadin Buddhism is the more conservative view and it follows more
firmly the original teachings of Buddha it is often referred to as the path of the elders . 1
Theravadin Buddhists believe Buddha is an inspirer and supreme teacher not a God but the very
highest human. Buddha believed that the human experience included great suffering, nothing is
permanent and nothing in this world should be desired.
