Gestational Trophoblastic Disease
Gestational Trophoblastic Disease Green. Blue. Purple. Orange. Yellow. Red. Pink. Teal. Peach. Gray.
What do all these colors have in common? Each color symbolizes the ribbons our nation proudly uses
to help educate and raise awareness about cancer. Each ribbon symbolizes a family member, friend, co
worker, significant other, and/or neighbor who suffer from some form of cancer. Many different
varieties of cancers are widely known; however, cases show that Gestational Trophoblastic Diseases
are extremely rare but potentially dangerous forms of uterine cancer that can affect pregnant woman
during the beginning stages throughout fertilization (Gestational Trophoblastic Disease, 2012). There
are two forms of the Gestational Trophoblastic Disease, Hydatidiform mole is a non cancerous form,
where a fetus may or may not develop. Out of all the types of uterine cancers presently known,
Hydatidiform Mole¬¬ commonly known as a molar pregnancy affects one out of every 1,000
pregnancies (Hydatidiform Mole, 2012). Choriocarcinoma is the cancerous form and is even less
common by affecting roughly two to seven pregnancies out of 100,000 in the United States. In
addition, choriocarcinoma molar pregnancies are more common in Mexico, Southeast Asia, the
Philippines, and African countries. Furthermore, Caucasian women in the Unites States are at higher
risk than African American Women. Consequently, women over the age of 40 or women who have had
prior molar pregnancies or miscarriages

2. A) The Indian River Lagoon surprisingly is not a river at all! A river is any body of water that has
headwaters and flows into a mouth. The Indian River lagoon has none of the above. When it does
flow, it does so in many directions depending on the winds, tides, etc. So what is the Indian River
Lagoon classified as? It is considered to be an estuary. That means that the freshwater draining from
the land mixes with the ocean s salt water. Because of all of these factors, there is an abundance of
animal and plant life living within its boundaries.
B) The afore mentioned estuary characteristic is more specifically called a lagoon. This means that it
is a body of water separated from the ocean by barrier islands and because of this has limited
exchange with the ocean through inlets. What makes the Indian River Lagoon so special is the fact
that it is North America s most diverse estuary. There are more than 2,200 different species of animals
and 2,100 species of plants living within it.
C) The lagoon stretches about 150 miles: from Ponce De Leon Inlet to Jupiter Inlet. It compromise of
three major water bodies: Mosquito Lagoon, Banana River and

Amazon and 3d Printing
3d printing is no longer a theory or a concept. It has been available to industrial manufactures for the
last few year but now as technology is advancing at its usual frightening pace the first home consumer
printers are becoming available and like the original printers they are rapidly moving on from their
slow, expensive and cumbersome beginnings . The Makerbot replicator 2 is an example of a 3d printer
available to the consumer retailing for approx $2000. 3d printing relies on additive manufacturing
which allows objects to be built layer by layer only using the exact amount of material needed
reducing waste and of course allowing for more complicated designs to be printed in full form. Users
can design a 3d model in computer software ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not until iTunes years later was there a platform to purchase Mp3s and digital media and the industry
could start to use this technology to improve customers experience and revenue streams instead of
fighting it. Amazon has proven itself to be at the forefront of adapting to technology changes with the
kindle book store offering a platform for downloading digital books and this meant book piracy never
reached the rampant levels of music piracy. As Amazon has an extraordinary large consumer base it is
in a unique position to offset potential physical 3d piracy by offering a platform for customers to
download 3d print files and products. It is important for the company to be quick and decisive in
changing its business model to adapt to this technology as like the music industry proved, if ignored
too long consumers will be ready, willing and capable of pirating physical products. Only this time it
is not only one music industry that is affected but dozens of physical and manufacturing industries
such as toys, accessories, jewellery , furniture and many more. If this were to happen Amazon would
lose out massively as a reseller of these products along with the manufactures themselves . User
creation and consumer centric products 3d printing has the potential to rewrite business practises
throughout the world. Mass production factories may no longer be required and economies of scale
changed forever . One talented designer could

The Role Of The Narrator In Ethan Frome By Edith Wharton
The moment a reader opens a book, they invest their trust solely into the narrator, depending on them
for a truthful, accurate and impartial portrayal of events and characters within the story. Edith
Wharton, in the Introduction to her work Ethan Frome, claims that the narrator of her story is capable
of seeing all around and is the sympathizing intermediary between his rudimentary characters, and the
more complicated minds to whom he is trying to present them (viii). This is not an accurate
description of her narrator, for he lacks credible sources and includes Ethan s personal bias in his
account of Starkfield and its inhabitants. In the story of Ethan Frome, the narrator, who remains
anonymous for the entirety of the tale, obtains

Owen Meany Character Analysis
In John Irving s A Prayer for Owen Meany and Tim O Brien s The Things They Carried, main
characters John Wheelwright and Tim O Brien are faced with the draft of the Vietnam war. John
Wheelwright is anti war, and successfully avoids the draft, but not without the help and influence of
his dear friend, Owen Meany. Tim O Brien is similarly influenced by his own doubts and acquaintance
Elroy, but with a very different outcome. As a result, Tim O Brien decides to honor the draft despite
his fear of war. Although both John Wheelwright and Tim O Brien make very different choices in
respect to the draft, they face very similar repercussions for their decisions. In this time, men were
expected to participate in the draft for the Vietnam war and John ... Show more content on

John may not regret evading the draft, but he definitely feels the consequences the method in which he
chose to evade the draft has brought. As a result of John not having to fear the draft as many of men
his age do, he feels disconnected. John recognizes that his generation is anti war because they are
afraid of being forced to fight in the war and that is not a fear he has to have. John expresses the
disconnect he feels when he says I had a 4 F deferment; I would never have to go to war, or to Canada.
By the simple act of removing the first two joints of my right index finger, Owen Meany had enabled
me to feel completely detached from my generation (Irving 532). Although fighting in the war is not
what John wanted, the way he describes having his finger cut off as a simple act gives the impression
that he feels it was a cop out because he could have ran away to Canada and still felt a part of his
generation. In addition, John says I was still a little self conscious about my missing finger. The scar
tissue was new enough so that any exertion the stump to look inflamed (Irving 532). John s scarred
finger is not just unsightly, it is a reminder to himself and a tell tale sign to everyone else, that John

A Poem Comparison of Donne s Anniversary and Jennings ...
Read the two poems carefully, bearing in mind that they were written at different times by different
writers and are open to different interpretations. Write a comparison of these two poems.
In your answer you should consider the ways in which Donne and Jennings use form, structure and
language to present their thoughts and ideas. You should make relevant references to your wider
reading in the poetry of love (40 marks).
John Donne s The Anniversary is all about the love the theoretical narrator and his object of love
share. A year has passed, and everything has grown older, drawing closer to their end. In contrast, the
one ageless thing is the unchanging love the poet shares with his lover. Although their bodies will be

I have no will to weep or sing...No least desire to pray or curse : These two lines expresses how the
author did not have any hope less and was feeling depressed. Furthermore, Emily Dickinson s poem
What If I Say , again the tone is extremely hopeless; her love has died but yesterday and without him
dungeons, nor guns do scare her; without him there is nothing left for her. Donne, however, is hopeful
that they will have many years together, but even if they don t, the second of (their)...reign shall be in
the afterlife; even death would not be the end of their love ( death be no divorce ). Jennings finds some
comfort in her parent s spiritual bond in the final stanza ( strangely close together , even if it is as
weak as a thread . She feels great tenderness for the parents who once passionately loved each other
and her, the feather and thread images are gentle and soft, suggesting her love for her parents is also
this way.
The repetition of the word strangely in the final stanza of Jennings poem could mean one of two
things: either that she finds it strange that they do not love one another in the same way anymore or on
the other hand, it could simply be emphasising that her parents are estranged from one another. There
is a sad and empty atmosphere or mood created through the poem. The sense of coming death and
fading passion creates a chilling mood; this contrasts with Donne s poem in which the lovers are not
fearful of death because of their

Song Analysis Of The Secret Life Of Bees
The Secret Life of Bees, takes place during the Civil Rights Movement in South Carolina. Lily Owens
is a 14 year old girl who carries the senseless burden of killing her mother. She destroys herself
believing that she killed her mother and can t come to peace with the accident she caused that caused
her mother to die. Later in the book she comes to find out that her mother abandoned T. Ray and her.
She is now at a different conundrum and believes her mother should be hoping she ll forgive her
instead of her mother forgiving her. She learns form the Boatrights that she needs to come to piece
with her mothers decisions and for the death of her mother. She notices how Mary comes to piece
when she sings, Oh! Susanna , and helps her realize we all have our own trials and hardships but we
also have our own way of coming to peace with our actions. Josh Garrels sings the song, Farther
Along , and to me this is a song of joy. The song does have a somber tone to the song. I wondered why
the good man dies, the bad man thrives and Jesus cries because he loves em both . This phrase tells me
how much Jesus loves us. He is not only crying because a good man died, or because one of his
children has fallen far off track, but he is crying for them both. He loves them both. There s much
more to life than we ve been told it s full of beauty that will unfold . Life is full of ugliness and
hardships. This proclaims that there is more than all of that and we will all one day see this beauty

Light Detection And Ranging ( Lidar )
Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) has grown to become a vital technology used in remote sensing
technology from aerial or land based platforms. Environmentalists have used LiDAR extensively in
resource mapping for conservation efforts in the past. However, one of the promising applications of
LiDAR is planning and designing of engineering projects of varying magnitudes and complexities.
Some of the outstanding drawbacks of using traditional data acquisition methods include the amount
of time spent collecting the data and the reduction of the data during processing. Such issues are
significant in engineering projects due to the corresponding cost and safety implications. Using
LiDAR from aerial platforms allows engineers to acquire and process data quickly with high levels of
accuracy as compared to the traditional methods. LiDAR involves the use of directing single laser
pulses on targets and performing an analysis on time taken to receive the reflected pulses (Finkl,
2013). The data collected helps in the determination of elevation details of an area. Additionally,
engineers can use the global positioning system (GPS) and digital photography with the LiDAR
elevation details to present accurate and comprehensive information about the desired location for a
project. The current paper focuses on the LiDAR data generated from aerial sources although several
types of data exist. Literature Review Aerial based LiDAR The aerial based platforms using

The Tell-Tale Heart Thesis
Research Essay: The Tell Tale Heart by Edgar Allen Poe
The Tell Tale Heart, by Edgar Allen Poe, is a story of a nauseating death. Murder as an upshot of an
eye; literally. Incongruous actions are taken by Poe when he determines the fate of a man he claims
love upon, all because He had the eye of a vulture (Poe), and Poe plots the death of this old man. As
noted in Short Story Criticism, it s stated that; What precipitated the narrator s insanity and the
subsequent murder was his irrational obsession with the old man s so called Evil Eye. The narrator
freely admits to his auditors that this was his Primmum mobile: yes, it was this! He had the eye of a
vulture a pale blue eye, with a film over it. Whenever it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Usually these sensorial illusions involve voices which the victim perceives as originating outside
his/her head, but occasionally the auditory hallucinations are of sounds rather than voices. Poe s
narrator insists that his disease had sharpened [his] senses not destroyed not dulled them, and that
Above all was the sense of hearing acute. Yet when he goes on to add I heard all things in the heaven
and in the earth. I heard many things in hell, his absurdly grandiose claim encourages us to suspect
related claims he makes regarding his auditory capacity (Zimmerman 279).
Insinuating that Poe is in fact a paranoid schizophrenic. Catatonia is another symptom of
schizophrenia displayed by Poe. When he had been spying on the old man, Poe states I kept quite still
and said nothing. For a whole hour I did not move a muscle (Poe), mimicking the behavior of
catatonia; the immobile state of a person often caused by psychiatric disorders, sometimes in odd
positions. Much of the criteria that needs to be met to be diagnosed with schizophrenia is extant within
Poe. One of the leading symptoms present with Edgar Allan Poe is his erratic behavior shown
existentially in the following

Bridget Jones Character Analysis
Throughout this novel, we see Bridget Jones having a breakdown as she writes her way through her
struggles. In the novel, the quote her nerves are shot to ribbons is used to describe Bridget. This is a
perfect quote to overlook the whole book honestly, because the meaning behind it is that she is either
disappointed or depressed. In most of her situations she never knows what to do. Her mom also
explains that she cannot stand her own problems and tries to solve them through others. This metaphor
is a huge part of this book because it is clear that Bridget has many issues she needs to work out.
The first major aspect in this novel would be the ideal of self perfection. In the article Contextualizing
Bridget Jones it says, Bridget is always trying to better herself with diets, self help books, and other
American pop culture (Marsh, 53) . In the end, she still is not happy with herself. She sees that
American way of how girls should look and feels this need to make all of these changes in her life by
starting a diary that begins with a list of things to better herself . One scene that was ironic was the
fact that after she lost a certain amount of weight she wanted, people said that she had looked better
the other way. Even if she thought she was doing the right thing, whether it was for her or for herself,
her wants/needs still were not met. In this novel we see that she is in a state of being disappointed in
whatever relationship she is dealing with or even herself. As

Essay The Popularity of The Burns and Allen Show
Vaudeville was very popular from the late 1800s to the early 1900s in North America. Vaudeville
shows were made up of many random acts that were placed together in a common play bill. Some acts
were, for example, plays, clowns, jugglers, comedians, etc. Once the radio was introduced, vaudeville
s started to become less popular as the radio s popularity started to increase. The radio started out with
maximum five programs but as the demand for radios increased so did the amount of programs, which
went up to almost 500. Radios was the place families and friends gathered to hear the news, sporting
events, music, entertainment, etc. One show millions of people listened to was The Burns and Allen
Show, starring George Burns and Gracie Allen. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When Allen heard about the break up between comedian partners Lorraine and Burns, Allen decided
to make a partnership between Lorraine. Confusing Burns for Lorraine, Burns accepted but did not tell
Allen the truth. Three days into their partnership, Burns finally confessed to Allen about the mixing up
of identities. However, Allen vowed to try and succeed in the comedy business with Burns as a
partner. Starting out as vaudevillians, Burns and Allen performed in different theatres and later signed
a five year contract with Keith Theater. Being known as the most popular acts in the United States,
Allen was invited to be a guest star on the radio. When CBS noticed how talented Burns and Allen
were on the radio, CBS offered a contract. The shift between theater and radio was an advantage in the
development of domestic situation comedy. Domestic situation comedy gave the audience a sneak
peek into Burns and Allen s private lives, while pretending to be themselves during the performance.
The Burns and Allen Show were soon in the top 5 shows, having millions of listeners weekly. Burns
and Allen would at times do things that would really grab attention from the audience. For example,
when she was looking for her lost brother George, Allen went from radio station to radio station
announcing George s disappearance. George was an accountant in San Francisco and was forced into
hiding until the stunt died down. Another

Ambassadors Character Analysis
The next character, Ambassador Louis Sears uses two SOF imperatives in complete contrast of their
definition throughout his role as Ambassador to Sarkhan. The first imperative is understanding the
operational environment and the second imperative is recognize political implications. However, I will
tie in the National Committees mistakes in selecting Ambassadors, which contrast the imperative
consider long term effects. Ambassador Louis Sears had served as a Democratic Senator for 18 years
and expected tenure in a federal Judgeship upon his departure. That desire solidified his actions as
Ambassador. Consequently, he is careless of his roles, politically unfocused, and self driven only for

Homer quickly displayed his understanding for the operational environment. For instance, he
immerses into the country and culture after he s given an assignment from Ambassador McWhite to
develop a water pump for the Sarkhanese people. He persevered through design challenges and was
able to identified critical components found within Sarkhan. This allowed him to invent and develop a
self sufficient pump that the Sarkhanese could build and run themselves. In a like manor, I compare
Homers intentions to a Confucius quote, Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to
fish and feed him for a life time. Homer was dedicated to providing the solution but understood it to
be a temporary fix if he did all the work. He knew that teaching the Sarkhanese how to construct the
pump on their own, would empower them to self sustain. He also understood that the Asian culture
wasn t the type to accept handouts. Homer displays this awareness by operating through and with
village headmen civil society leader and their chosen mechanic Jeepo, to introduce and construct the
water pump. Those simple courtesies provide solid evidence that Homer was aware of his operational
environment, which assisted him in working with and through others. Furthermore, Homer displayed
this while fostering his relationship between the village elders and Jeepo by maintaining confidents in
Jeepo s ability to solve the water pump efficiency issue. As a result, Homers actions rehabilitated the
American image and assisted in the water pumps acceptance. In the end, Homer empowered Jeepo and
the villagers to build water pumps for their

Other than those accommodations lodging revenue was lost to independent hotels and motels in the

The second amusement park location was Florida. They purchased28,000 acres of land, enough for
plenty of park expansion, shopping and lodging (The Walt Disney Comany and Affliated Companies,
2011). The park opened in 1971 with the flagship Magic Kingdom Park. In 1982 they added the
futuristic park called the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow or EPCOT (The Walt

lesson from California about space and in Florida they still have plenty to expand and they have
dozens of hotels to host thousands of visitors. This became a destination vacation where families from
all over the world came, stayed and played at the parks.
The next venture was opening Disneyland in Tokyo. The company unsure of its first global park
expansion let Tokyo build and own it and Disney just took royalties on the park (Solomon Stranger,
1994). The park opened in 1983 and became a huge success even in the cooler climate. Disney learned

which you would be pulled up 40 feet high and then swung like a pendulum at relatively fast speeds.
What made the situation worse was that I absolutely hated roller coasters. As we were approaching the
Skycoaster, I witnessed another instructor from a different group on the Skycoaster; he was screaming

story stands a woman an authentically portrayed woman. A woman with strengths, flaws, desires,
memories, hopes, and dreams. Tolstoy s Anna Karenina, Mitchell s Scarlett O Hara, and Williams
Blanche DuBois are beautiful, intelligent, sophisticated women: strong yet fragile, brazen yet subtle,
carnal yet pure. Surviving literature that depicts women in such a realistic and moving fashion is still
very rare today, and each piece of that unique genre ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Indeed, the two sisters believed that the beautiful pure freedom of a woman was infinitely more
wonderful than any sexual love (Lawrence, Lady 1994 7). The author maintains this stance on women
s independence, but he tweaks it slightly over the course of the story. Connie marries Clifford
Chatterley, an aristocrat and owner of the estate Wragby Hall, who is paralyzed from the waist down
because of a war injury, rendering him impotent. Clifford devotes himself to his work writing and
Connie remains ignored. A Sleeping Beauty, she has not awakened to life (Squires in Lawrence, Lady
1994 xxi). This lack of connection with her husband fans the flame of Connie s sexual inquisitiveness,
first ignited in an erotic encounter, when she spies on Mellors bathing naked. In Sons and Lovers,
Mrs. Gertrude Morel s personality is a near polar opposite to Connie s. Whereas Connie is earthy,
sensual, and physical, Mrs. Morel is proud, unyielding, and intellectual (Murfin 34). She is associated
with control, consciousness, coolness, and colors suggesting purity (Murfin 38). In a letter to a friend,
Lawrence himself wrote the simplest explanation of Mrs. Morel s role in the novel: The son loves the
mother all the sons hate and are jealous of the father. The battle goes on between the mother and the
girl, with the son as object. The mother gradually proves

Mlk Jr.’S “Letter from a Birmingham Jail”
MLK Jr. s Letter from a Birmingham Jail While unaware of the impact this would have on the
American people, Martin Luther King, Jr. s Letter from a Birmingham Jail turned into an iconic piece
of American history. King s tremendous work as a civil rights activist through non violent protest
changed our day to day life, and his words captured the entire American population. King was
persuasive due to his genuine nature and passion for his work, which is easily communicated in his
writing. Specifically in the Letter from a Birmingham Jail , King s use of logos, ethos and pathos
portrays the detailed importance of his struggle and the importance for action from the American
people. King s letter starts off stating why he is writing: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
King does an outstanding job in communicating the urgency of the situation without sounding
personally impatient in his letter. His ability to create a sound argument without emotion makes his
Letter from a Birmingham Jail all the more provocative. However, that being said, King also does a
great job of establishing pathos. Introducing his letter, King states that he is responding to claims
made about his actions, showing that his letter has a direct action causing this response. He
continually refers to himself as a religious man with a strong reputation in the church. King also
shares an anecdote about his daughter, in which she questions why she cannot go to Funtown. Anyone
reading this letter is immediately aware of the tension negroes face in their day to day life. A parent
can t imagine their child asking them this question, and those without children cannot imagine
themselves asking it. King apologizes for the length of his letter, but also states that there s not much
else he can do from a jail cell. King s letter portrays him as a hard working man for justice in America,
as well as a family man fighting for his individual rights. This extraordinary man appeals to all
Americans, asking them to join him in the fight against injustice. This discourse King composed

Essay about Africa Before European Arrival
Africa Before European Arrival People of the early African kingdoms were able to create successful
trade routes with Europe and Asia, become very wealthy from conquering and gaining land, and were
able to have a strong central government. All of this was done before the Europeans had reached
Africa. Trade flourished on the East African coast, especially when trading was established with India
and Arabia. African kingdoms were prosperous, because of their success with not only trading but also
with their ability to conquer land. A governmental structure is key to allowing any kingdom to thrive,
and the African people were able to achieve this. Once Africa got involved with the major trading
centers, trade improved and they were able ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the kingdom of Benin, making castes with bronze was introduced to the rest of the world. Now this
kind of work is done with clay, and wax, and red metal (copper), and soldier (zinc) and lead, and

art of creating bronze castes was very popular in Benin and the popularity soon spread to most of
Northern Africa. Even before Europeans came to Africa, the kingdoms in Africa were quite wealthy.
As previously mentioned, Ghana was a very strong kingdom in which its people were also incredibly
wealthy. Their government appeared to be wealthy as well, which assisted Ghana in being able to
control the gold and salt trade. An Arab scholar, Al Bakri, wrote about the king s court and how
basically everything that the court had was gold (Document 2). The point of view of this document
was also positive, and that is because scholars are usually upper class, just like the king s court. Al
Bakri thought very highly of the court, and explains in detail how every person has some gold on them
and how their surroundings also possessed gold. Ghana had a strong army and an intelligent political
counsel, which made other countries fear them. Nations around Ghana did not want to start problems
and usually just maintained peace with Ghana (Document 3). Ghana was not the only successful
kingdom, one of the leaders of Mali, Mansa Musa,

Demand And Supply Of Labor
The demand and supply of labor is determined by the labor market. There are two players in the labor
market: the workers and the firms. All workers will supply their labor to firms in exchange for wages
paid by the firms to produce manufactured Items. The need for laborers is comprised of the firms need
to produce any given number of products to supply the consumers demand. Because of this, the labor
market directly affects supply, demand, and the price of manufactured items. Of the three resources of
production (land, labor, capital), the labor segment is the most important. Specifically, labor Unions

Industrial capitalism was leading the way and did not share the same ideology and vision of the labor
movement. According to the heritage.org, labor unions today harm the economy because they function
as labor cartels. Labor cartels restrict the number of workers allotted in a company or industry
resulting in an increase in wages for the union workers. Just as the Organization of Petroleum
Exporting Countries (OPEC) attempts to cut the supply of oil to raise its price, companies pass on
those higher wages that have to be paid to the union members to consumers through higher prices, and
often earn lower profits, as reported by James Sherk, What Unions Do: How Labor Unions Affect Jobs
and the Economy. Companies today have less power to increase prices on consumers without going
out of business. Labor unions are also effective at taxing company investments through the negotiation
of higher wages for their members causing a decrease in profits. Companies that are unionized,
counter the negotiations through reduced investments, thus making the companies less competitive in
the market. The graph below provided by heritage.org, displays union vs. non union manufacturing
employment trends. Because of this, job opportunities are reduced and the economy suffers. (1)
Research has shown that unions make for a slower economic recovery. Over the long run, business
investment is reduced due to labor cartels

The Importance of Political Candidates Religion in American Politics
Religion and Politics have played a loud and at some times discordant counterpoint in the United

Whether or not religion will continue to be a constructive voice in politics in the decades a head is an
open question. Scientific materialism has made it more difficult for religious believer to effectively

barriers to mixing faith in politics. Even so, the United States remains one of the most religious

Lean And Six Sigma Origins Of Statistical Tools Essay
Lean and Six Sigma, both are different words or we can say two powerful methodology which

The Puritan s Beliefs on Self Reliance

values and morals of the Puritans of the 1600 s? Some would say yes and others would say no. This

In modern America, though, people are not taught to rely on themselves. Many people are homeless
and they rely on the government for money, food, clothes, and homes. They do not go out and take
their life into their own hands. They live their whole life relying on someone else to do the work for
them. It is not fair to the rest of the people that are self reliant and can take care of themselves. The
family and home were probably one of the biggest values of the Puritans. The Puritans stressed
togetherness within the family. They wanted families to be tight. As religious as the Puritans were,
family came before religion. Family life is also important in modern times. People are urged to spend
more time with their families and try to bring them closer together. Children grow up wanting to have
a family of their own they can take care off. It is one of the pleasures of adulthood. Family life has a
key role in today s society, but it definitely does not have the biggest role. Attending church regularly
was very important to the Puritans. They based their lives around their religion. The entire reason the
Puritans came to America was to escape the Catholic Church of England. They believed that if you did

Fox and Maurice Richard are two different notable Canadians who both had similar historical

the quantity of lives they affected across the country and the durability of the impacts still evident
today, and their leadership ability of displaying determination by showing resilience in the face of

cancer patients by increasing their chances of survival with the money he raised from the Marathon of

not kill their spirit (rw.runnersworld.com). Furthermore, Terry is an inspiration to cancer researchers,

Children Who Commit Violent Crimes
For many years the question of whether or not children were capable of having the same mental
understanding as adults when it comes to crimes they commit. There are so many arguments from
both sides and whether or not children who commit violent crimes should be tried in a court of law as
adults. Personally, as a mother of two boys and pregnant with a third child I want to believe that if my
child does commit a crime under the age of adulthood that they would be given a chance to try and be
rehabilitated. I believe that children do not have the mental capacity to be housed in the same facility
as adults. They are not mature enough, they will come out with more problems, and lastly these are
children and we as adults are responsible for teaching them right from wrong so how can we ship
them off with adults the minute they do something wrong. I, therefore, believe that children who
commit violent crimes should not be tried as adults. The first juvenile court was established in
Chicago in 1899. The U.S. made this possible for two reasons. The first being that they believed that
children lacked the maturity level to take responsibility as adults. Second their character hadn t fully
developed so they believed that they ca be rehabilitated. The first state to impose a lower age for
juveniles to be tried as adults was Michigan in 1997. This gave them the choice of sending children to
adult court. For the next five years many states followed this example. As of now this issue

Corporate Branding And Consumer Opinion
Corporate branding and consumer opinion Corporations need to sell their product if they want to
survive in the business industry. Consumers are aware of what they desire, dislike, and for the most
part make their choices accordingly. For those that cannot decide as easily, there are many choices of
different brands of the same product sold by different companies. When a corporation puts their label
or name on the product, it is called branding (Klein 778). That is the way of consumerism and a way
to make a product more tantalizing, is to think of extraordinary marketing concepts. This essay will
discuss corporate brands and the effect on consumers, then, the paper will examine the concept of
Neuromarketing. Corporations are not forcing anyone to use their product, but they are trying to
capitalize and make themselves a household name. There is an expression, keeping up with the Jones
or nowadays the Kardashians, and what that means is, the assumption would be that someone is
attempting to obtain the same type of lifestyle or the same objects as someone else. Celebrities pay
substantial amounts of money for fashion and designer product and many of them participate in
campaign ads promoting different products. Celebrities make us think that if we purchase these items,
we could be like the rich and famous. Often corporations make you think that if you buy their
products, you can do and be better at life in general. For instance; the popular sports drink Gatorade

How accurate is it to say that Lenin s leadership was the most important reason for the Bolshevik s
success in the revolution of November 1917?
Lenin s leadership was to a large extent an important cause of the Bolshevik s success in the
November 1917 revolution. This is because of Lenin s great leadership skills, including his personality
and timing, and his use of propaganda. Other factors to why the Bolsheviks succeeded included
Trotsky s role, which was debatably more important, and the problems with the Provisional
Government, which made it unpopular, increasing support to the Bolsheviks and meant that any future
revolution was inevitable.

There were major problems for the government, counting the central issues. People were suffering
from the hardships of World War I including: a huge number of deaths at the front, hyperinflation,
transportation breakdowns, empty shelves in stores and lack of fuel to heat people s homes. These
issues were linked in a cruel circle; the only way to end the economic and social crisis was to get out
off war but by doing so, that would mean the withdrawal of foreign aid, which would create an
economic crisis of its own. The central issues dissatisfied the proletariat, soldiers and peasants. When
Lenin returned, he promised his most popular slogans, which were Peace, Land and Bread and All
Power to the Soviets which were designed to gain support for the Bolsheviks and undermine the
Provisional Government. Peace, Land and Bread was a popular message because peace meant an
instant end to conflicts and referred to Bolshevik opposition to war; bread meant a promise of food in
the towns and cities, and land meant all of it to be nationalised for the peasantry. This was a popular
message in a country tired of war and faced food shortages. This emphasised the Provisional
Government s support for the unpopular war and proved their failure to help the land and food
shortages. Lenin s solution All Power to the Soviets made the workers and peasants believe that the

The most common themes featured in Renaissance art; classicism, individualism, secularism, nudes,
nature, youth and religion.
Caravaggio s Supper at Emmaus has been constructed according to Luke s narrative in the bible 24:28
32. Dramatic theatrical lighting surrounding the figures in the painting is used to create a sense of
surprise that would be appropriate for a sense of miracle. The themes of religion/ biblical art are the
most prevalent in this painting. There is also a symbolic meaning to the choice of fruit featured in this

Caravaggio employed several different techniques for the positioning of the figures, for example the

As a health professional that will be working with trying to change dietary lifestyles, I think that
having that cultural competency with this particular community will always be useful. My Spanish
skills can help me gain the confidence of some of my patients or clients and find better ways to assess
their needs.
Another one of my current strengths would be that I am very detail oriented and specially in a clinical

  • 2. Gestational Trophoblastic Disease Gestational Trophoblastic Disease Green. Blue. Purple. Orange. Yellow. Red. Pink. Teal. Peach. Gray. What do all these colors have in common? Each color symbolizes the ribbons our nation proudly uses to help educate and raise awareness about cancer. Each ribbon symbolizes a family member, friend, co worker, significant other, and/or neighbor who suffer from some form of cancer. Many different varieties of cancers are widely known; however, cases show that Gestational Trophoblastic Diseases are extremely rare but potentially dangerous forms of uterine cancer that can affect pregnant woman during the beginning stages throughout fertilization (Gestational Trophoblastic Disease, 2012). There are two forms of the Gestational Trophoblastic Disease, Hydatidiform mole is a non cancerous form, where a fetus may or may not develop. Out of all the types of uterine cancers presently known, Hydatidiform Mole¬¬ commonly known as a molar pregnancy affects one out of every 1,000 pregnancies (Hydatidiform Mole, 2012). Choriocarcinoma is the cancerous form and is even less common by affecting roughly two to seven pregnancies out of 100,000 in the United States. In addition, choriocarcinoma molar pregnancies are more common in Mexico, Southeast Asia, the Philippines, and African countries. Furthermore, Caucasian women in the Unites States are at higher risk than African American Women. Consequently, women over the age of 40 or women who have had prior molar pregnancies or miscarriages ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A river is any body of water that has headwaters and flows into a mouth. The Indian River lagoon has none of the above. When it does flow, it does so in many directions depending on the winds, tides, etc. So what is the Indian River Lagoon classified as? It is considered to be an estuary. That means that the freshwater draining from the land mixes with the ocean s salt water. Because of all of these factors, there is an abundance of animal and plant life living within its boundaries. B) The afore mentioned estuary characteristic is more specifically called a lagoon. This means that it is a body of water separated from the ocean by barrier islands and because of this has limited exchange with the ocean through inlets. What makes the Indian River Lagoon so special is the fact that it is North America s most diverse estuary. There are more than 2,200 different species of animals and 2,100 species of plants living within it. C) The lagoon stretches about 150 miles: from Ponce De Leon Inlet to Jupiter Inlet. It has been available to industrial manufactures for the last few year but now as technology is advancing at its usual frightening pace the first home consumer printers are becoming available and like the original printers they are rapidly moving on from their slow, expensive and cumbersome beginnings . The Makerbot replicator 2 is an example of a 3d printer available to the consumer retailing for approx $2000. 3d printing relies on additive manufacturing which allows objects to be built layer by layer only using the exact amount of material needed reducing waste and of course allowing for more complicated designs to be printed in full form. Users can design a 3d model in computer software ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Not until iTunes years later was there a platform to purchase Mp3s and digital media and the industry could start to use this technology to improve customers experience and revenue streams instead of fighting it. Amazon has proven itself to be at the forefront of adapting to technology changes with the kindle book store offering a platform for downloading digital books and this meant book piracy never reached the rampant levels of music piracy. As Amazon has an extraordinary large consumer base it is in a unique position to offset potential physical 3d piracy by offering a platform for customers to download 3d print files and products. It is important for the company to be quick and decisive in changing its business model to adapt to this technology as like the music industry proved, if ignored too long consumers will be ready, willing and capable of pirating physical products. Only this time it is not only one music industry that is affected but dozens of physical and manufacturing industries such as toys, accessories, jewellery , furniture and many more. If this were to happen Amazon would lose out massively as a reseller of these products along with the manufactures themselves . User creation and consumer centric products 3d printing has the potential to rewrite business practises throughout the world. Mass production factories may no longer be required and economies of scale changed forever . One talented designer could ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Role Of The Narrator In Ethan Frome By Edith Wharton The moment a reader opens a book, they invest their trust solely into the narrator, depending on them for a truthful, accurate and impartial portrayal of events and characters within the story. Edith Wharton, in the Introduction to her work Ethan Frome, claims that the narrator of her story is capable of seeing all around and is the sympathizing intermediary between his rudimentary characters, and the more complicated minds to whom he is trying to present them (viii). This is not an accurate description of her narrator, for he lacks credible sources and includes Ethan s personal bias in his account of Starkfield and its inhabitants. Owen Meany Character Analysis In John Irving s A Prayer for Owen Meany and Tim O Brien s The Things They Carried, main characters John Wheelwright and Tim O Brien are faced with the draft of the Vietnam war. John Wheelwright is anti war, and successfully avoids the draft, but not without the help and influence of his dear friend, Owen Meany. Tim O Brien is similarly influenced by his own doubts and acquaintance Elroy, but with a very different outcome. As a result, Tim O Brien decides to honor the draft despite his fear of war. John may not regret evading the draft, but he definitely feels the consequences the method in which he chose to evade the draft has brought. As a result of John not having to fear the draft as many of men his age do, he feels disconnected. John recognizes that his generation is anti war because they are afraid of being forced to fight in the war and that is not a fear he has to have. John expresses the disconnect he feels when he says I had a 4 F deferment; I would never have to go to war, or to Canada. By the simple act of removing the first two joints of my right index finger, Owen Meany had enabled me to feel completely detached from my generation (Irving 532). Although fighting in the war is not what John wanted, the way he describes having his finger cut off as a simple act gives the impression that he feels it was a cop out because he could have ran away to Canada and still felt a part of his generation. In addition, John says I was still a little self conscious about my missing finger. The scar tissue was new enough so that any exertion the stump to look inflamed (Irving 532). Read the two poems carefully, bearing in mind that they were written at different times by different writers and are open to different interpretations. Write a comparison of these two poems. In your answer you should consider the ways in which Donne and Jennings use form, structure and language to present their thoughts and ideas. You should make relevant references to your wider reading in the poetry of love (40 marks). John Donne s The Anniversary is all about the love the theoretical narrator and his object of love share. A year has passed, and everything has grown older, drawing closer to their end. In contrast, the one ageless thing is the unchanging love the poet shares with his lover. Lily Owens is a 14 year old girl who carries the senseless burden of killing her mother. She destroys herself believing that she killed her mother and can t come to peace with the accident she caused that caused her mother to die. Later in the book she comes to find out that her mother abandoned T. Ray and her. She is now at a different conundrum and believes her mother should be hoping she ll forgive her instead of her mother forgiving her. She learns form the Boatrights that she needs to come to piece with her mothers decisions and for the death of her mother. She notices how Mary comes to piece when she sings, Oh! Susanna , and helps her realize we all have our own trials and hardships but we also have our own way of coming to peace with our actions. Josh Garrels sings the song, Farther Along , and to me this is a song of joy. The song does have a somber tone to the song. I wondered why the good man dies, the bad man thrives and Jesus cries because he loves em both . This phrase tells me how much Jesus loves us. He is not only crying because a good man died, or because one of his children has fallen far off track, but he is crying for them both. He loves them both. • 9. Light Detection And Ranging ( Lidar ) Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) has grown to become a vital technology used in remote sensing technology from aerial or land based platforms. Environmentalists have used LiDAR extensively in resource mapping for conservation efforts in the past. However, one of the promising applications of LiDAR is planning and designing of engineering projects of varying magnitudes and complexities. Some of the outstanding drawbacks of using traditional data acquisition methods include the amount of time spent collecting the data and the reduction of the data during processing. Such issues are significant in engineering projects due to the corresponding cost and safety implications. Using LiDAR from aerial platforms allows engineers to acquire and process data quickly with high levels of accuracy as compared to the traditional methods. LiDAR involves the use of directing single laser pulses on targets and performing an analysis on time taken to receive the reflected pulses (Finkl, 2013). The data collected helps in the determination of elevation details of an area. Additionally, engineers can use the global positioning system (GPS) and digital photography with the LiDAR elevation details to present accurate and comprehensive information about the desired location for a project. The current paper focuses on the LiDAR data generated from aerial sources although several types of data exist. Murder as an upshot of an eye; literally. Incongruous actions are taken by Poe when he determines the fate of a man he claims love upon, all because He had the eye of a vulture (Poe), and Poe plots the death of this old man. As noted in Short Story Criticism, it s stated that; What precipitated the narrator s insanity and the subsequent murder was his irrational obsession with the old man s so called Evil Eye. The narrator freely admits to his auditors that this was his Primmum mobile: yes, it was this! He had the eye of a vulture a pale blue eye, with a film over it. Whenever it ... Usually these sensorial illusions involve voices which the victim perceives as originating outside his/her head, but occasionally the auditory hallucinations are of sounds rather than voices. Poe s narrator insists that his disease had sharpened [his] senses not destroyed not dulled them, and that Above all was the sense of hearing acute. Yet when he goes on to add I heard all things in the heaven and in the earth. I heard many things in hell, his absurdly grandiose claim encourages us to suspect related claims he makes regarding his auditory capacity (Zimmerman 279). Insinuating that Poe is in fact a paranoid schizophrenic. Catatonia is another symptom of schizophrenia displayed by Poe. When he had been spying on the old man, Poe states I kept quite still and said nothing. For a whole hour I did not move a muscle (Poe), mimicking the behavior of catatonia; the immobile state of a person often caused by psychiatric disorders, sometimes in odd positions. Much of the criteria that needs to be met to be diagnosed with schizophrenia is extant within Poe. • 11. Bridget Jones Character Analysis Throughout this novel, we see Bridget Jones having a breakdown as she writes her way through her struggles. In the novel, the quote her nerves are shot to ribbons is used to describe Bridget. This is a perfect quote to overlook the whole book honestly, because the meaning behind it is that she is either disappointed or depressed. In most of her situations she never knows what to do. Her mom also explains that she cannot stand her own problems and tries to solve them through others. This metaphor is a huge part of this book because it is clear that Bridget has many issues she needs to work out. The first major aspect in this novel would be the ideal of self perfection. In the article Contextualizing Bridget Jones it says, Bridget is always trying to better herself with diets, self help books, and other American pop culture (Marsh, 53) . In the end, she still is not happy with herself. She sees that American way of how girls should look and feels this need to make all of these changes in her life by starting a diary that begins with a list of things to better herself . One scene that was ironic was the fact that after she lost a certain amount of weight she wanted, people said that she had looked better the other way. Even if she thought she was doing the right thing, whether it was for her or for herself, her wants/needs still were not met. This allowed him to invent and develop a self sufficient pump that the Sarkhanese could build and run themselves. In a like manor, I compare Homers intentions to a Confucius quote, Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and feed him for a life time. Personally, as a mother of two boys and pregnant with a third child I want to believe that if my child does commit a crime under the age of adulthood that they would be given a chance to try and be rehabilitated. I believe that children do not have the mental capacity to be housed in the same facility as adults. I, therefore, believe that children who commit violent crimes should not be tried as adults. The first juvenile court was established in Chicago in 1899. The U.S. made this possible for two reasons. The first being that they believed that children lacked the maturity level to take responsibility as adults. Second their character hadn t fully developed so they believed that they ca be rehabilitated. The first state to impose a lower age for juveniles to be tried as adults was Michigan in 1997. How accurate is it to say that Lenin s leadership was the most important reason for the Bolshevik s success in the revolution of November 1917? Lenin s leadership was to a large extent an important cause of the Bolshevik s success in the November 1917 revolution. This is because of Lenin s great leadership skills, including his personality and timing, and his use of propaganda. Other factors to why the Bolsheviks succeeded included Trotsky s role, which was debatably more important, and the problems with the Provisional Government, which made it unpopular, increasing support to the Bolsheviks and meant that any future revolution was inevitable. There were major problems for the government, counting the central issues. People were suffering from the hardships of World War I including: a huge number of deaths at the front, hyperinflation, transportation breakdowns, empty shelves in stores and lack of fuel to heat people s homes. These issues were linked in a cruel circle; the only way to end the economic and social crisis was to get out off war but by doing so, that would mean the withdrawal of foreign aid, which would create an economic crisis of its own. The central issues dissatisfied the proletariat, soldiers and peasants. When Lenin returned, he promised his most popular slogans, which were Peace, Land and Bread and All Power to the Soviets which were designed to gain support for the Bolsheviks and undermine the Provisional Government. Peace, Land and Bread was a popular message because peace meant an instant end to conflicts and referred to Bolshevik opposition to war; bread meant a promise of food in the towns and cities, and land meant all of it to be nationalised for the peasantry. This was a popular message in a country tired of war and faced food shortages. This emphasised the Provisional Government s support for the unpopular war and proved their failure to help the land and food shortages. In the Supper at Emmaus, Caravaggio employed several different techniques for the positioning of the figures, for example the use of abbozzo.
