Choosing An Agent For A Fun Ride
My husband and I knew we were going to be in for a fun ride since we were first time home buyers.
For some time we had been preparing for this immense steep to take. Before we even knew it, it was
time to purchase a home. We had done some home searching online, looking at the different price
ranges of homes, their locations, and the square footage, crime rates for different areas, schools among
others. We thought we were ready. Choosing an Agent to help us in the process was an easy task, it
only took a couple of phones calls. Knowing what we wanted in a house was also an easy task; we had
a price range and our list of what our dream house would need to have was fairly simple. Three houses
we re on our list; a cottage style home, a very particular ghostly house and our now home. The first
home was a warm and inviting cottage style home. Its light blue chipped paint, showed that this house
had not been vacated or taken care of for some time, its red foreclose sign in the yard clarified it. The
first thing you could noticed as you walked through the arched framed front door was the wood
flooring throughout the dining and living room. The house had three rooms, one in each level of the
house; main, second and basement. The spacious master bedroom was upstairs, with more windows
than walls. We loved it, all that bright sunlight gave the impression that the room was bigger than
already was. The other bedroom was smaller but perfect for to be our son s play room. The

The Raising of the Cross
The Raising of the Cross Peter Paul Reubens, The Raising of The Cross found on page 265 in our art
book, was created 1610 1611 by the use of oil on panel, dimensions 462 x 339 cm. Many facets of this
painting caught my attention, but the prime facet was the geometric support it influences and the
sentimental effect it distributes to the spectators, also Reuben s motive and content behind the
painting. It may at first glance appear that this painting is all cluttered, but you would be mistaken.
Reuben placed each item precisely in this piece of art. This style of painting is called Baroque. The
style of art Baroque means detailed and broad paintings. Reubens evades rigid lines and tedious
geometric structure to establish life and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the right panel of the painting, the guards are shouting their orders to the men who are obeying
because they probably would be killed had they not. There are dark clouds rolling in to cover the sun
representing possible sadness, evil and pain. On the left panel of the painting, there are priests, woman
and children cringing in fear and horror. This division of anger, hatred, fear and sadness evokes many
mixed emotions. Reubens use of light and dark colors create a sense of emphasis and subordination.
He puts emphasis on innocent characters such as a woman and children and Jesus. Everything else in
the painting is dark and creates the subordination so that it is not the main focus in the picture. The
one facet that brings a sense of normality back into the painting in my opinion is the random dog in
the middle panel; it is neither sad nor angry. Perhaps this is Reubens attempt to truly represent the
middle of the emotional realm in this painting. Finally, I want to address the true meaning behind the
painting that Reuben intended. The roman leaders and soldiers did not want people to worship or find
encouragement from Jesus and his beliefs in being the son of God. So they had a trial against him for
being a threat against the Romans self proclaimed authority. The trial ended with Jesus being
sentenced to death by crucifixion. The painting is Reubens interpretation of what the moment of Jesus
being raised up on the cross looked and felt like to him. The

Materials and Tools In order to get better insight about what we try to do here we need to know some
terms that used in this document.
Tor: Tor is a network of virtual tunnels that allows people and groups to improve their privacy and
security on the Internet. It also enables software developers to create new communication tools with
built in privacy features. Tor provides the foundation for a range of applications that allow
organizations and individuals to share information over public networks without compromising their
privacy.

There some other tools may provide better anonymity than Tor. Since Tor runs on your computer this
makes your system vulnerable. Using a proxy server will make your Internet access work more
efficiently. It will work like a barrier between you and outside world. You can also use proxy server
almost with chat applications. This provides better security than Tor. A proxy is a virtual private
network is one specific type of proxy which provides you with the ability to work remotely and
securely . The particular VPN will belong to you. This makes proxy more secure than Tor. Of course
proxy servers have vulnerable sides too. Proxy server will provide you with security and anonymity,
the proxy itself has to decode your traffic to send it through. This means it can see everything you re
doing, unless you use SSL connections. So you need to trust it. Since both of them have dark sides.
Instead of using one of them, it will be more secure to combine

Differences Between Book And Movie
There were many differences between the book and the movie. The characters in the movie were very
different from what I had imagined them to be. For example, in the book, Benjamin s last name was
different from that in the movie. In the movie the love story between Ben and Irene was were
powerful watching, Reading it didn t have the same effect as visually seeing it. In the movie, the scene
where Irene tries to get Gomez to confess to the murder of Lilliana (she pushes him to the extreme)
this was not in the book. The soccer scene was also not in the book. In the book, he is getting a bus
ticket to leave town. In the movie, the ending of the movie was powerful. He was in jail for life. The
vibe I got from the book was very different. Gomez

Navajo Nation Ethical Dilemmas
The Navajo Nation is the largest federally recognized tribe in the nation with a little over 300,000
members on the largest reservation. The Navajo nation today has dealt with the consequences of
mining uranium, limited housing development on their land, and contaminated water resources.
The Navajo reservation is about 17.2 million acres that provide many natural resources. The resources
that are available to be mined are coal, uranium, oil, and natural gas. Coal, oil, uranium have been the
foundation of the Navajo economy since 1920. There are large coals mining operations that provide 23
million of coal each year that is used to generate electricity across the United States. Oil and gas
reserves on the reservation that are major source of revenue and major employers for the Navajo
Nation. The Navajo have endured environmental injustice since 1944 when uranium, was mined on
their land. Even though it brought them mining jobs there were negative effects on the Navajo Nation.
Uranium is a naturally occurring radioactive metal that may cause negative health effects. The
radioactive materials caused lung cancer or various forms of fibrosis. These uranium mines affected

The American War On Drugs
The American War on Drugs war created to keep an exorbitant amount of people behind bars, and in a
subservient status. First, America has a storied history when it comes to marijuana use. However,
within the last 50 years legislation pertaining to drug use and punishment has increased significantly.
In the modern era, especially hard times have hit minority communities thanks to these drug laws.
While being unfairly targeted by drug laws and law enforcement, minorities in America are having a
difficult time trying to be productive members of society. A famous quote attributed to Charlie
Fleisher says much about the 1960 s. If you remember the 1960 s, then you weren t there. By the late
1960s drug use had become a fairly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In order to spread lies about marijuana use, various agencies released propaganda films, most notable
of these films is Reefer Madness . In this film, high school students are lured into using marijuana,
which leads the students to commit murder, rape, suicide, and an overall decent into madness. Despite
the strong use of propaganda, marijuana use saw an upward trend between the 1950 s and the 1960 s.
Use of marijuana had spread to the white upper and middle classes by the 1960 s, partially changing
the negative connotations attached to marijuana use. The drug was used by these middle and upper
class whites to rebel against the older generation s way of thinking. Many teens were introduced to
marijuana use in college, where various other counter culture ideas were being expounded. While the
use of marijuana experienced a rise since the 1800 s to the middle of the 20th century, use of the drug
saw a strong downward trend in the 1970 s through the early 1990 s, in part due to the strongest

Personal Statement for Energetic Students Entering Hong...
Personal Statement of Mu Yi Tsai I was born in Taiwan where people are passionate and enthusiastic. I
have grown up in a society where people respect and welcome different thoughts and beliefs. Until
2005 my family moved to Guangdong as my father s job requirement. China has been developing
rapidly over the past 20 years. I integrated into Chinese society pretty soon although both are quite
different in many ways. I had made a lot of acquaintance with local students in the schools and had a
wonderful study in high school to win the scholarships for three consecutive years. In 2011, I passed
the high school entrance examination and got admitted to Dongguan Middle School which is the best
one in Dongguan area. Many say that I ve grown up ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By keeping record of my daily life, feelings for the people and comments on the events, I have also
grown to be more aware of my self reflection. This also benefits me on my writing skills as years have
passes through. Furthermore, I have also become more confident in my social life due to the self
encouragement through the diaries. And the most important thing is, I am willing to share my diaries
to my families and friends as a good way to help us recall our memories. Being a very cheerful and
optimistic girl, I have found making people happy especially delights me. As the monitor of the class,
I have organized my peers to show the best in volleyball, basketball and chorus competitions. With
unity and endless efforts, we won the championships finally. I have also designed and created various
kinds of birthday celebrations for my classmates, such as making blessing videos, drawing pictures
and writing blessing words on the board of the class, assembling peers to show blessing words on the
playground. The classmates are often surprised with smiles and tears when facing such special
birthday gifts. This led to a stronger connection among the class and we were literally a big family
within the first year of high school. One thing that makes me a super star in school is that I am the
director of the school radio station. I have devoted myself and even put in my own leisure to make it

Ccc Camp History
After dinner, the men had free time until lights out at 10 P.M.
The U.S. Army ran the camps, but foresters, carpenters and other people directed the work. The CCC
fought forest fires, planted trees, built roads, buildings, picnic areas, swimming areas, campgrounds
and created many state parks. When not working, the men socialized and had opportunities to learn
crafts and skills.
Each camp had about 200 men, including an army officer and junior officer, camp doctor, educational
advisor, and the project supervisor.
The average camp had about 24 buildings, including kitchen, mess hall, barracks and quarters for the
officers. Many camps began as tent cities until the permanent camp could be built.

Owassee Slide Run is the site of one of the Gorge s log slides, during the lumber era. The log slide
was used on a year round basis: during the winter the logs slid down on ice; following the snowmelt
the slide was greased to ease the descent of the logs. The logs were then loaded onto rafts and arks and
floated downstream.
Keep looking for wildlife here. This is pristine territory and there is little human access to the Gorge
from this point on, except via the creek and the rail trail. The road across from us is a dead end that

American Sniper Character Analysis
A good movie about a person s life, especially one that involves real life wars has to be convincing.
That means the actor must be compelling of who the character actually is, in addition to the scenes
being true to the actual event, place and time. I also believe the plot of the story is essential as a true
drama is one classified as the hero dying or making you feel sad. American Sniper , a drama and true
story about a legendary sniper and navy seal, Kris Kyle accomplishes the heartfelt experience of
family, death, commitment and the life of a true soldier. With his record of confirmed kills, he earned
the nickname The Legend by his team, on the other hand, the enemy wanted him dead. Directed by

I really liked this as it made you realize what being directly in the war zone is like for a soldier. When
he has to make the decision to shoot a woman and a child to save American lives. The woman was his
first confirmed kill (Turan). He has flashbacks, which immediately got my attention and wanted to see
more. Differing from other war movies, like The Hurt Locker , the war veteran is as reckless solider.
Whereas, Cooper does a better job at making Kyle seem like a more welcoming character. There is no
question what his intentions are throughout the entire movie. While he struggles with home and
deployment, he gives an excellent performance on what it is really like to face decisions where there is
a sacrifice either way. His character really shines through and make anyone think about what goes
through a person s mind and what they have been through. For me, when he was in the tire shop and
the young man approached and recognized him, thanking him for saving his life, his voice, tone and
demeanor shifted...stuttering, his voice dropped and at a loss for words, coming across discourteous.
What I didn t like was the character Taya Kyle, played by Sienna Miller. I can t imagine the wife
would be unsupportive. Didn t really believe her

The Management Of Coarse Fisheries Of Lakes And Rivers...
Introduction:
The aim of this literature review is to determine why set of structured points or methodology for the
management of coarse fisheries of lakes and rivers within the UK, is the best way forward to achieve a
good ecological status of surface water bodies in the UK. The following critical literature review will
attempt to explain why achieving a good ecological status is necessary, what it is and why being
applied to fisheries with UK is the most practical approach, the themes examined will be:
1. Fisheries within the UK and their significance
2. Good ecological status as per legislation requirements and for socio economic and cultural benefits.
3. Mitigation measures.

Other uses involve fisheries for harvesting of fish, such as salmon farms. In 1994 there were an
estimated 0.8 million game anglers and 2.3 million coarse anglers. (Peirson, Tingley, Spurgeon,
Radford, 2001, p.416). Annual expenditure on all items related to angling/fishing involved the
purchasing of rod licences from the Environment Agency, tackle, bait, and permits on private lakes as
well as travel by anglers, in 1994, the total was estimated to be approximately £3 Billion (Moon and
Souter, 1994). By 2005 approximately thirty million days were fished by anglers on UK fisheries
which was substantially more than the year 2000 (Mawle, Peirson, 2009, p.44.) This increase in
angling activity increases competition between fisheries to ensure that the best quality stocks of fish
are available for anglers.
It is estimated by (Girdler, Wellby, Welcomme, 2010, p.3) that approximately 90% of the still water
bodies in the UK may be privately owned and marketed or operated as fisheries. Whilst running as a
privately owned fishery this could mean the fishery ends up removed from the direct influence of
significant regulating bodies such as conservation, freshwater scientists and regulators like the
Environment Agency, thus emphasising the role that fishery managers must independently regulate the
aquatic environment of their freshwater body. One of the main reasons as to why it is so significant to

Bchira Vs Segula
During Grade 11 Rabbinics Class some interesting discoveries were made about the true reason that
the Jewish people are considered an Am Segula (treasured people). The two different options for this
argument are Bchira Vs Segula. The explanation for Bchira is that the Jewish people chose God and
all his teachings so God chose them back in return. In contrast, Segula says that God loves the Jewish
nation, and therefore God chose the Jewish people to be his treasured nation. Now, there are many
disagreements between Bchira and Segula because there are different explanations as to why they are
God s treasured nation. I believe that the Jewish people are an Am Segula because of Bchira. When
looking in detail at Bchira, it is the more sensible option.

Corn Prices
The Effect of U.S. Ethanol on Corn Prices
Introduction: There are over 96 million acres of corn planted in the U.S. every year, where the mid
west dominates the country in production. Corn can be used for a variety of things that include; energy
ingredient in livestock feed, ethanol for biofuels, oils, sweeteners, alcohol, and food substances such
as starches.
Ethanol production in the U.S. has been on the rise for over the last 10 years. Production totals were
around 115,604 barrels (1,000 barrels) in 2006 and has more than doubled by 2014 reaching 341,419
barrels (1,000 barrels). A majority of the US ethanol is made from corn. In 2013 the U.S. used 4.7

A comparison of results with the no subsidy results and with actual prices and quantities shows
separate estimates of the impact on corn. The general pattern of corn prices would have been the same
as in the historical period without ethanol subsidies or without expansion of ethanol, rising from 2005
to 2007 and then declining to 2009. Corn prices would have still risen dramatically in 2007, to $3.75
per bushel. Policy: By 2011 most cars on U.S. roads could run on blends of up to 10% ethanol (E10),
and manufacturers had begun producing vehicles designed for much higher percentages. Flexible fuel
cars, trucks, and minivans use gasoline/ethanol blends ranging from pure gasoline up to 85% ethanol
(E85). By early 2013 there were around 11 million E85 capable vehicles on U.S roads. In January
2011 the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) granted a waiver to allow up to 15% of ethanol
blended with gasoline (E15) to be sold only for cars and light pickup trucks with a model year of 2001

Roxana is the cause for the loss of her children, because she continues to stay with her husband when
he becomes an irresponsible, poor man, indicating how she is a selfish mother. She talks about the

talks about how his business started to decline and that he had to shut down his trade. With five
children, they began to struggle, especially him. Instead of him buying a house and providing for his
family, he neglected it, liv d on as he did before, kept his Horses and Men, rid every Day out to the

Farthing Subsistance for them, other than about seventy Pound in Money, and what few things of

for a length of Time too (52). Here, she noticed that he is really gone, and now she is scared, because
she cannot take care of her and her children without him. This chain of event connects to her husband
s negligence. Since she made the decision to stay with her husband, despite the hardships that he
placed his family and himself in, he left her. So, she cannot take care of her nor her children because
she is not familiar with being an independent woman living in a male dominant world. This cause
could have been avoided if she were to leave him when she realized that he was becoming broke and
irresponsible; however, she was dependent on him because he made the money and she worked in the
private sphere. Overall, this connects to Hobbes philosophy of the chain of events, because her
husband s negligence and him leaving leads to the next event that brings us closer to the loss of her

The Bill Of Rights Is Outdated
Some might say the Bill of Rights is outdated, since it was written back in 1789. I would like to show
how it is as relevant today as when it was first penned. Some people believe the Bills of Rights are
outdated and need to be modernized. Our Bill of Rights should not be altered and therefore should
remain the same. These rights retain an important role in American society and outlines specific
freedoms for all Americans. They are essential to preserving our individual rights while ensuring
freedom for our future generations.
The Bill of Rights is the name for the first ten Amendments of the United States Constitution. This
limits the power of the U.S. Federal Government. Those limitations protect our natural God given
rights and ensure no man or government will be able to obtain excessive power and infringe them.
Some of these rights include freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of
assembly, and our right to keep and bear arms. Our Founding Fathers wanted to name these particular
rights to prevent citizens from being oppressed and to the limit the intrusion of the Government.
The Bill of Rights should not be altered because it protects the citizens of America and it enumerates
specific freedoms given to us in our Constitution. The Bill of Rights is somewhat like the Ten
Commandments, which highlights specific guidelines which keeps our nation in check. Before we
consider altering the Bill of Rights, we should first seek to evaluate and gain

US TRADE AND ECONOMY
Then and Now

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
As we know US went from being a net exporter to a net importer in a short span of time. Currently US
economy is strong but with lots of debt. These changes in trade gap and debt were caused basically
due to other developing nations coming up with low cost manufacturing system and thus US ended
importing products from other countries. Also many US manufacturers moved their factories abroad
due to cheap labor and other services. Some companies are considering reshoring and bringing at least
some part of the process back to US as labor cost and other services are rising in other countries. This
paper gives a detailed account of all the factors ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This recovery of the European and Japanese economies, and the advancement of industrial limit in the
developing countries unavoidably diminished the share that United States had in world exports and
output. By the 1970s, exchange examples reflecting fundamental similar point of interest had been
restored, and the United States was at the end of the day a merchant of buyer products. The United
States global speculation position soon after World War II was very small.
United States resources in 1950 totaled $17.5 billion and investment done outside was $8 billion.
During this time US was open to all trade options, but had a small part as an owner in international
assets. The resources and other factors have been growing since 1950 at a constant rate of about 10%
an year. This served as an internationalization of the investments during the period, which United
States lost its powerful position in world trade market. US was making surpluses in mid 1960 s in
areas such as trade capital stock, horticulture and chemicals, and was falling behind in buyer things
and nonagricultural mechanical supplies and materials. All automobile products were surplus at first,
but then changed to deficit in 1968 in trade market. (Please refer the table)(Feldstein)

VEILED SENTIMENTS
Honor and Poetry in a Bedouin Society
(Critique)
The book, Veiled Sentiments: Honor and Poetry in a Bedouin Society, by author and anthropologist,
Lila Abu Lughod, who is best known for her work on women s issues in the middle east, presents two
years of fieldwork in Egypt among the Awlad Ali Bedouin community who have gone from living a
nomadic lifestyle , a farming system where animals are transported from one area to another in search
for fresh grazing land, to living in villages where smuggling, raising animals, and doing odd jobs are
ways of supporting themselves. In the book, Abu Lughod brings together the concepts of structure,

When reading Veiled Sentiments, I got the impression that the existing social hierarchy among the
Awlad Ali was based on gender, age, wisdom, and wealth, Women are always dependent, and the
powerful have obligations and responsibilities to protect and care for the weak. The weaker members
epitomized by the helpless infant, and by extension all children. (p.80 81) Abu Lughod did a good job
depicting the ways that the social hierarchy works, by including terminology such as wliyya, and by
vividly describing situations where women, and children seemed weaker than the adult males in the
community, who in most situations appeared to be the head of households. The author also goes
further into the ideals of the Awlad Ali by discussing the relations between female modesty (hasham),
natural inferiority , and sexuality. She depicts the ideal woman in the eyes of the Bedouin people,
describing her as soft spoken, and well behaved, and with no open thoughts on sexuality. Apart from
discussing the importance of hasham in a woman, Abu Lughod points out that emotion of love and
affection between men and women is a taboo. Men that show emotion towards a woman are seen to be
weak and are shunned upon by their male peers, as well as women in the community. Women claim,
for instance, that real men control all their dependents and beat their wives when the wives do stupid
things ( p.89) . In

Types of Computers
A computer is one of the most brilliant inventions of mankind. Thanks to computer technology, we
were able to achieve storage and processing of huge amounts of data; we could rest our brains by
employing computer memory capacities for storage of information. Owing to computers, we have
been able speed up daily work, carry out critical transactions and achieve accuracy and precision at
work. Computers of the earlier times were of the size of a large room and were required to consume

The Social Impact Of Edward Murrow
There have been many issues with journalists being honest or dishonest in our generation. Not all of
journalist are bad, there are many great ones who have impacted society in positive ways. Journalism
is the activity or profession of writing for magazines, newspapers, news websites, or they prepare
news stories to be broadcasted to the public (Journalism.org). Edward Murrow said, To be persuasive
we must be believable; to be believable we must be credible; credible we must be truthful. This holds
true because the world does not want to hear false stories, they want to hear credible ones, Edward
Murrow shows that by his truthfulness and his dedication to journalism. Murrow has impacted society
in positive ways including his accuracy, political knowledge, and his social impact. Edward Murrow

Proctor and Gamble Scope Case Essay
Proctor and Gamble Scope Case Analysis 1) What significant changes have occurred in the Canadian
mouthwash market in the past three years? The mouthwash market had grown on an average increase
of 3% per year for 12 years. Then in 1987, with the introduction of new flavors it shot up 26%, and
after that it continued at a steady increase of 5% per year. Originally, Listerine was the market leader.
It positioned itself as a germ killing mouthwash that eliminated bad breath. Scope was introduced in
1967 as a green, mint tasting mouthwash that was mouth refreshing and provided bad breath
protection. Scope branded itself not only protection to bad breath, but also that it tasted better than the
other mouthwashes available. Competitors of Scope ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In food stores, Scope held a 42% market share, whereas in drugstores, it only held a 27$ market share.
This is significant because drugstores are where 65% of mouthwash sales come from, and only 25% of
sales come from food stores. Scope is priced slightly below average at food stores and 16% below
average at drugstores. Listerine and Listermint are priced above average at food stores and slightly
below average at drugstores. Overall, Scope has a strong presence in the market for mouthwash. It has
the leading market share in the Canadian market. Consumers that purchase Scope do so because it is
better tasting than other mouthwashes that prevent bad breath. Scope excels in food stores, but has
room to increase sales in drugstores because that is where most mouthwash purchases occur. With the
introduction of Plax, Scope s market share could potentially be threatened. The market is shifting
towards health related benefits of mouthwash and not just fresh breath and good taste. 3) What are the
pros and cons of the options available for Scope? A) Do nothing: One option available for Scope is to
remain status quo. Scope is already the leading market shareholder in mouthwash in the Canadian
market. The cost of Scope is below market averages and is already perceived as a quality product. Two
of the most important reasons for consumers to buy a mouthwash include to get rid of bad breath and

The Importance Of Diversity In College Campuses
Overall diversity in college campuses has been held back with the SAT because of its unfair standards.
In an article called These Four Charts Show How the SAT Favors Rich, Educated Families. written by
Zachary Goldfarb, there are statistical charts one of them show that a student who has a parent that has
obtained a graduate degree on average score 300 points higher than those who have parents with a
lower education. Keep in mind that the article was published by The Washington Post which has won
eight pulitzer awards and is considered to be a main source for news. As far as the statistics

obtain a degree are put in a disadvantage, the amount of people that statistic applies to could range
from kids of an immigrant parent to low class students who have parents that could never afford ...

How To Kill The Dolphins Persuasive Essay
A bay in scarlet
The scenes when the dolphins get killed is dramatic and in some places like Japan they even pull
curtains across the shoreline to hide the terrible killing process from the public .
Dolphins are one of the most intelligent animals on the planet and because of their well known
kindness they are loved by a huge amount of people. But still they are getting killed in massive
amounts in places like Chile, Faroe Island and especially in Japan. We even love them so much that
we let them suffer in dolphinariums just so we can get a little amused watching them. Is it correct to
kill and torture these harmless and intelligent creatures, for almost no use?
Some dolphin species face an uncertain future, especially some dolphin species such as the Amazon
River dolphin, the Ganges and Yangtze River dolphin, which are seriously endangered. In 2006 it was
stated that the Yangtze River dolphin was completely extinct. Because of hunting, entanglement in
fishing gear, collisions with boats and ships, habitat loss, and pollution.

This conference was filled with opportunities and growth. There were many challenges discussed in

urban agenda on adequate housing, and fostering socially inclusive solutions to housing issues.
Although I did not participate in the committee as a delegate representing one nation, but rather

Given these challenges and solutions many of you proposed to address your topic in committee, did
you find that certain stakeholders, (i.e., specific countries) made it difficult to adequately address the
challenge at hand? Please explain:
From my point of view, the delegation of Brazil was very hostile and made it challenging for informal
caucus to be the collaborative effort that it should be. They seem to intimidate the other countries and
not let them speak their minds. When I would walk around to talk to each coalition that had formed,
they did not let anyone else speak on behalf of the group.

Causes Of Pancreatic Cancer
Pancreatic cancer occurs when malignant (cancerous) cells develop within the tissues of the pancreas.
The pancreas produces digestive juices and hormones that regulate blood sugar. Cells called exocrine
pancreas cells produce the digestive juices, while cells called endocrine pancreas cells produce the
hormones. The majority of pancreatic cancers start in the exocrine cells. (WebMD, 2015) Pancreatic
cancer is the cause of the 4th most cancer deaths in the United States of American with a median of
six or less months and a 5 year survival rate of 4.6%. The lethal nature of pancreatic cancer stems
from its propensity to rapidly disseminate to the lymphatic system and distant organs. (Sarkar, 2007)

Two of the main pancreatic hormones are insulin, which acts to lower blood sugar, and glucagon,

In pancreatic cancer, cancer cells in the pancreas grow and multiply quickly, which can cause a tumor
to grow. In stage 4 pancreatic cancer, a cancerous tumor has begun in the pancreas and has spread
beyond the pancreas into parts of the body far from the pancreas. It may also have spread to the lymph
nodes and the organs and tissues found near the pancreas. The effect of this tumor on the body
depends on where the tumor is, how it has spread, and how large it is. If the tumor blocks the flow of

Selective Breeding Essay
How Selective Breeding is Hurting the Bulldog
Everyone has heard of the bulldog. There are English bulldogs, French bulldogs, and many more.
What if someone were to tell you that because of selective breeding, your precious pooch may be in
danger. Selective breeding is something that breeders do to get the best looking dogs. Breeders do this
for show dogs and for sport dogs but in the the bulldogs case it is very dangerous. Bulldogs are now
faced with a decreased lifespan, more health problems, and is leading to less of a species variety. Even
though selective breeding is great to keep certain traits out of the way, in the bulldogs case, it could be
disastrous.
Why the Bulldogs Lifespan is Shortened When you think of small dogs you would ... Show more

Studies show that sometime in the next 10 50 years, if selective breeding continues, the bulldogs will
have their noses touching their foreheads. 100 years ago, the english bulldog was able to reproduce
and give birth to their puppies without question, but now they need to be artificially inseminated and
have to have a cesarean section birth because of how their bodies are now shaped. This is a
disadvantage to the bulldog because now breeders can inseminate dogs and can continue to breed
them. These dogs also lost the ability to travel on planes because of overheating and breathing
problems when they reach a certain altitude on the plane. Many more abilities and activities have also
been taken away, such as being able to play and enjoy themselves because they get tired and need to
actually take a break to breathe.
Conclusion To say the least, selective breeding is hurting this breed and many more may follow in it s
path. With all these warnings from the health problems to the lifespan getting shorter and shorter, you
would always assume the good in people to stop it. The fact that these dogs cannot breed by
themselves or travel or even have a healthy long life should be a wake up call to many people.
Hopefully, more and more people will read about the issue and try to fix it or atleast try to help the
cause. We should stop selective breeding to save the

Young Women In The Coquette By Eliza Wharton
In Hannah W. Foster s, The Coquette, Eliza Wharton is portrayed as a woman of status, above average
intelligence and education, with a flirtatious nature. Though the author does not cast her in an
antagonistic light, her manner is painted as foolish, flippant to 18th century social conventions, and
lacking in forethought. As such, The Coquette should be viewed as a literary warning for young
women of the day, especially those who may have shared undesirable attributes with Eliza. It is the
novel s intent, by way of Eliza s thoughts and actions, to discourage young women from pursuing a
fleeting and non virtuous lifestyle. Through the novel, Foster acts as a moral guide to young women
by persuading them to obey social conventions like entering into dutiful marriage, refraining from

In portraying the dichotomy of virtue between Boyer and Sanford, Foster means to convey the moral
sense in courting a chaste man like Boyer, and the great error in pursuing a libertine like Sanford. It is
Foster s intent to show Eliza s carefree indecision as a hindrance to her true happiness and ultimately
as the reason for losing Boyer. Conversely, Peter Sanford acts as a moral foil to the virtue of Reverend
Boyer; he is charming, but manipulative, deceptive, and rakish. It is the author s intent to portray
Major Sanford as the type of man to which women of inconsistent virtue were likely to be drawn.
Eliza is shown as not caring about Sanford s past indiscretions (and ultimately suffering for it), saying
a reformed rake makes the best husband (Foster, p.49). The social convention of the day was for
women to marry quickly and smartly; it is Foster s intent to illustrate how a woman active in society

The Negative Effects Of Ocean Acidification
Ocean Acidification is an incredibly important topic that has not been addressed toughly by
mainstream media. It is causing ocean warming, mass extinction of fish species, coral bleaching,
phylogenic changes in ocean populations, and many more negative consequences. I did my senior
project on coral bleaching due to ocean acidification and there has been little new information on the
subject, in the public sector, since then. According to a study done in 2016 a strong link between
seawater pH and coral calcification is supported by data the pH of the coral calcifying fluid (CCF) is
elevated relative to the surrounding seawater pH, and that acidification of the surrounding seawater
causes a reduction in pH of the CCF (Edmunds et al., 2016). The Great Barrier Reef has been in crisis
for at least a couple decades because of severe coral bleaching and calcification. In the last couple
years, large sections of the reef have died because of changing environmental conditions. The situation
is similar in many of the coral reefs around the planet. Ocean Acidification will continue to have
monumental lasting negative effects on the environment unless drastic changes are made to the way
humanity is using our natural resources.
Ocean Acidification occurs when the ocean uptakes carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and the
resulting chemical reactions make the water more acidic. According to the NOAA When carbon
dioxide (CO2) is absorbed by seawater, chemical reactions occur that

Body Composition Lab Report
Introduction In the laboratory body composition measurements were taken in a practice setting. Body
composition is just describing what the body is made up of. These measurements were taken from
men and women, 21 to 25 years of age. Today many people have different health problems, such as
high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, and more. Body composition matters when it comes to
this, because being overweight and unhealthy makes a difference. Knowing where a person weight
needs to be to stay and feel healthy is important. (However note just because a person looks a certain
way does not always mean they are unhealthy or healthy) Therefore measurements must be as
accurate as possible. The hypothesis is that humans are more likely to come upon errors more likely

Child Labor In Ghana
Child Labor: Gold Mining in Ghana It is estimated that one in every seven children, worldwide, are
used for child labor. Child labor is a serious issue in our society and needs to be solved immediately.
There are thousands of children all over the world who have to work unbearable hours and complete
dangerous jobs that expose them to toxic chemicals and these kids get paid less than an average person
who makes minimum wage. Child labor is not only happening here in the United States of America
but is also happening in places such as Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, Latin America,
and in some parts of Africa. For example, in Ghana many kids are getting exposed to a toxic chemical
named Mercury. Mercury is harmful to adults but it is extremely dangerous and potentially fatal if
children are exposed to it. Mercury can cause attacks on the victims nervous system which can cause
lifelong disabilities. The United Nations (UN) defines child labour as any work that deprives children
of their childhood, their potential and their dignity, and which is harmful to their physical, moral, and
mental development (Awuku, Mabel D., and Ampomah Patience. Child Labour is Harmful to the

Difference Between Classical And Keynesian Economics
Parts of economic theories seem to constantly change because there is no perfect economy; however,
there are two categories in which most economists fall under: Classical and Keynesian. Classical
economists follow the theory described in Adam Smith s Wealth of Nations regarding a Laissez Faire
policy with no government intervention. People who are considered to follow the Keynesian economic
theory generally favor government intervention in the economy during recessions in the business cycle
(Colander p. 524). Three well known economists fall into these categories: Milton Friedman and
Friedrich von Hayek were considered to be classical economists, while John Maynard Keynes,
developed the Keynesian theory. Friedman was a firm believer in capitalism and that the market s

Similar to Friedman, he promoted a Laissez Faire style economy and figured that government
intervention during recessions would only make problems worse (Encyclopedia of World Biography

consumers had when making a purchase (223). During the Cold War, many economists though the
Soviet Union s economy would grow at such a high rate that it would be larger than the United States
economy; however, Hayek found holes in these arguments and did not think this was true. According
to economist David Peterson, Hayek s argument was, ...prices that efficiently allocate resources cannot
be set by government fiat. When an economy lacks the daily input of the individual decisions of
millions of consumers...the result is colossal waste and inefficiency (86). This contributes to Hayek s
free enterprise view on the economy, that it should be consumers who determine the prices of goods

The City Of New York
The City of New York s population is just under 8,500,000. It is one of the most populated and
crowded cities in the United States, so obviously this would be one of the last place someone would
want to be lost. Being in such a huge city is already genuinely overwhelming for someone from South
Dakota. As a family, we had already been to Chicago, a larger city. We thought we would have a pretty
good handle on how to navigate through so many people. As it turns out, we were much too confident
for our own good.
My brother Adam lives in New York as a doctor with his wife Cydney. My parents thought it would be
good for me to have one last adventure before I went off to college the next fall, so what better place
to go than New York? I was so excited to go, since all of my friends had already gone. They told me
what a wonderful and magical time they had there. I had been planning outfits for months. To be
honest, I was almost to the point of obsession with the idea of New York. It was the city. But after
finally sorting through my clothes and picking out only what I absolutely needed, we packed enough
to last us the entire week. Of course we had to be careful not to bring too much, so they do not charge
us extra at the airport for a bag weighing too much. My dad is always very conservative on trips to

Learning From The Learning Being An Active Participant
Learning comes from the learning being an active participant
This is a huge concept that contributes to children actually learning and remembering knowledge. It s
partly the teachers job to create effective learning experiences for the students to want to be active
participants. Over and over again I hear in all my education courses to make learning meaningful to
students and this is why. Students differ in several aspects and the teacher has to do the best he/she can
to ingenue the students. I don t want to be a mechanic in life and if you stuck me in a class about
automotive I would most likely be bored to death. However, concepts about automotive knowledge
might be more meaningful and memorable to me if the concepts are relatable to my life or interesting.
Anything can be made interesting or appealing with the right learning tools and methods. Teachers
need to use what they know about their students to engage active participation. You can t throw a
bunch of knowledge out for them and expect them to learn it, which connects to another key to the
learning science. Prior knowledge is the foundation to how we learn new knowledge. Building upon
what students already know creates deeper connections and can strengthen active participation. If
teaching doesn t begin with something relatable to what they already know and believe how can they
apply it in their mind.
Constructivism is a concept that is supported by all the major educational philosophers. Learners are

Christian missions may add the current concerns and issues of that time.
3 Where do you see the Christian church worldwide going? What will be your place in it?
I think the Christian church today is face with a direction issue we hear on the news that a lot has been
going with Priests, Pastors Etc., in the other hand, now more people are focusing on Christ. Places that
no one knew or heard about Jesus start to familiarize with the Gospel. I think, what the Church should
be focusing more on is the connection with each other as Christians, as the old traditions. As
followers, we re not supposed to be individuals, we need to help each built the kingdom of Christ. As
a Christian, I will make sure that I preach the word of God not only in preaching and learning but

Fraser River Gold Rush
In the early immigration, the Fraser River gold rush is perhaps the largest event. It was an overall
positive event, and the Chinese were a large part of the business of the time. They were
entrepreneurial and established themselves selling things that were important to the miners, importing
goods, growing food, and building infrastructure. Stores similar to the Wong Toy Co. one would ve
existed then. The head tax period was obviously dominated by the creation of the Chinese Head Tax,
similar to other anti Chinese taxes throughout the world. This was a major step backwards in Chinese
Canadian history, and the backwards thinking of it all was best illustrated as they continued to
immigrate along the very railroad they helped build. Canada

Camp Cosby Research Paper
Camp Cosby + Kale = Life For many individuals Camp Cosby means a lot to them, but for me there is
so much value to the place I call home. Camp Cosby has been a huge part of my life even before I was
born; therefore, I feel that it is necessary to help ensure that Camp Cosby is a successful place. I took a
significant amount of time away from Cosby to not only grow and develop as an individual, but also
to give Cosby a time to change. After years away from the place I was passionate about I feel the need
to make sure that I am a part of bringing Camp Cosby to a new beginning. I want the best for Camp
Cosby and for every individual that has ever felt the same. The benefits of working at Cosby for one

I always want everyone to know that they are a part of the Camp Cosby I love. This past summer there
was not an affiliate of Camp Cosby that went unspoken to, and I hope that every individual that works
for Cosby shares the passion that I do. The benefits of being a CIT Director at Camp Cosby would
mean so much to me; however, I know that this job carries a lot of responsibility and duty. I can name
many that have had this position and I remember each of them, and certainly my CIT directors have
made an impact on my life. I hope to make the YMCA a career. I want to be the difference in the
world, and I feel like I can start at Camp Cosby. I, Jonathan Kale Haywood, tend to be a humble
person; however, when it comes to YMCA Camp Cosby, I feel like I can make a difference in the
place I love. Camp Cosby has done so much for me, and I want to make sure that the Cosby Spirit
lives on. I want to instill the values that I have learned at Cosby in others so that the world can be a
better place. Camp Cosby is an experience that every camper learns something about themselves, and

To What Extent Was The Mexican War Justified Or Unjustified
Justified or Unjustified
Between two different people a fight over borders broke out in 1845. Some events that happened
before the Mexican War is, the Louisiana Purchase in 1803. Another event was that Texas gained
Independence in 1836. Another event was the Annexation of the Oregon territory in 1846. The United
States did not have the right reasons in going to war with Mexico. The United States was not justified
in going to war with Mexico because they were land hungry, robbers, and law breakers. The United
States could have been justified, but there are many ways to give evidence with being unjustified. So
in my opinion the the United States was not justified. The first reason the Mexican War was
unjustified was because they were land hungry. Texans wanted to cross the Mexican borders. ... Show

They were stealing things and not caring. (Doc D) They stole people s land or territories. ( Doc D)
This evidence shows that the United States was not justified in going to war with Mexico because they
stole people s awesome land. The Texans did not care what they stole, sometimes they needed
something and other times it was for revenge. The Texans were very selfish and greedy. They stole a
lot of other things. They also were not following the rules and also breaking the law.
The final reason the Mexican War was unjustified was because they brought slaves over the border.
The Texans crossed the borders without being invited. They also crossed the borders with unwanted
slaves. (Doc D) In Mexico slaves were forbidden, or illegal, but the Texans brought they over the
border anyway. The Mexicans were anti slavery. The Texans did not respect that, they were happy that
the Mexicans were unhappy and hurt. The Texans were breaking the law by bringing slaves over the
border, and the Mexicans did not like that at all. This evidence shows that the United States was not

The Death Of The Scout Essay
Then the specter arrived, a certain fear of death, it was dull and oppressive, it came to the Scout. This
fear wasted no time becoming poignant as the Scout realized that it was now no longer a mere matter
of just freezing some fingers and maybe a few toes, or of losing his hands and feet altogether, but that
now it was a matter of life and death with the odds solidly stacked very much against survival. This
threw the Scout into a full panic, and it turned and ran up the ammonia creek bed back along the old,
dim trail. The pequoti quickly joined in behind and kept up but it kept a safe distance. The Scout now
ran blindly, and without any willful intention, in fear such as it had never known before. Slowly, as the
Scout ploughed and floundered through the argon snow, it began to see things again the banks of the
ammonia creek, the old growth timber jams, the leafless trees, and the beautiful sky. This running
made the Scout feel much better. The Scout no longer shivered. Maybe, just maybe, if the Scout ran
on, its feet would thaw and dry out; and, anyway, if it ran far enough, the Scout would reach the safety
of camp and the others. Without a doubt the Scout would lose maybe a finger and maybe a toe and
maybe some of its face; but the others would take good care of the Scout, and save the rest upon
arrival. But at the same time there was this other competing and rapidly growing thought in the Scout
s mind that said it would never get to that mining camp and the

Saul Alinsky Jane Addams

Brief Paper #1
Both Jane Addams and Saul Alinsky, worked to enact social change within the poor neighborhoods of
Chicago. Both would also go on to inspire many other social changes due to their methodologies and
accomplishments. However, Addams and Alinsky s approaches to bring about social change are often
described as being polar opposites. One could argue though, that despite these superficial differences,
Addams and Alinsky shared a commonality that is not often talked about. Jane Addams started the
Hull House. She brought services to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This falls back to Alinsky s do anything to win mentality and win he did. The BYNC housed the infant
station and the Chicago Settlement never regained its footing within the community. Alinsky had
again proved the effectiveness of his methods (Hamington, 2010). Addams and Alinsky appear to have
very different organizing philosophies. Alinsky himself often commented how his methods were so
different than those of the settlement houses. These comments however, should have been more
directed at what the settlement houses had become and not at the originating principles of Jane
Addams Hull House. Jane Addams herself would likely disapprove of the direction that the settlement
houses had moved towards. Addams and Alinsky both recognized the importance of listening and
learning the needs of the community in order to gain perspective. Addams recognized that when
existing social institutions do not provide a reasonable means for citizen participation, those citizens
will organize to resist... Similarly, Alinsky viewed his organizations as fully democratic [stating]: This
kind of organization can be built only if people are working together for real, attainable objectives
(Hamington, 2010). The connections between the philosophies of Addams and Alinsky are
inextricably linked. The resonance between the social philosophies of Addams and Alinsky is not
surprising if the Chicago School connection is taken into account. Addams and Hull House helped

Essay On Forecasting Hurricanes
Forecasting Hurricanes Forecasting hurricanes has two components to it: where the hurricane is going
(track) and how strong it is going to be (intensity). Hurricane forecasting has improved over time, In
1992, hurricane forecasts were issued to only three days, but now they are issued to five and soon they
will be given for up to a week (Main). Predicting hurricanes is extremely difficult, but the
development of faster computers and better satellite data has decreased the error percentage of
forecasting hurricanes. Meteorologists had been using the limited technology to try and forecast the
hurricane before it hit, but the advancement in technology has made forecasting hurricanes more
accurate. Hurricane Fran hit North Carolina and Virginia on September 5, 1996. The technology that
meteorologists had at the time was not very accurate nor helpful. One of the technologies that
meteorologists used to forecast Fran was a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The satellites that they use today are more accurate than the ones used to forecast past hurricanes. The
NOAA uses two types of satellites to get information for weather from: geostationary operational
environmental satellites (GOES) and polar orbiting operational environmental satellites (POES).
Meteorologists use GOES for national, regional, and short range forecasting. Meteorologists use
POES for global, long term forecasting and environmental monitoring. The use of both these satellites
complete a global weather satellite monitoring system, tracking atmospheric variables such as
temperature and providing atmospheric data and cloud images needed to track and understand
hurricanes ( Predicting Hurricanes: Times Have Changed ). The satellites help meteorologists forecast
hurricanes with more accuracy than without using the satellites. The advancement of satellites has
helped meteorologists be the most accurate they have ever been with forecasting

Theme Of A Clockwork Orange
t was a hot summer day in the year 2011. Everyone is walkin around with popsicles, ice cream, and
cold refreshments. Then, there is me, with a warm bottle of water and a bag of hot Cheetos I
dreadfully regretted buying. I thought, this must be how my story ends, but just as I had given up
hope, my younger brother walks by with a cold Sprite! The moment he leaves it, I dash over faster
than you could say the word pop, and snatched up the can. Just as I took my first couple sips, i seemed
to have been caught in a daze. Because after what seemed like the shortest 20 seconds ever before, i
drop the can. Yes. Drop. The Sprite splashes all over the sidewalk and makes a big crash. My little
brother yells at me for spilling his soda, but i ignore him, staring in astonishment at what was
supposed to be my big break. You know what they say, What goes around comes around or maybe you
know it as You get what you deserve and for you really frisky people, you can probably identify it as
Karma s a ***** . Either way, i think the main theme that plays out in the story A Clockwork Orange,
by Anthony Burgess is that karma always gets you. A Clockwork Orange is about a man named Alex
Delarge, who is a teen (around sixteen or seventeen) that is the head of a four man gang in a future
England setting. Due to his lack of leadership skills, his buddies turn on him and abandon him as he is
apprehended by authorities. While in prison, he is put into a prototype hypnosis program called the

Modernism In The Great Gatsby
Modernism and Realism reflected in Fitzgerald and Chopin
American Realism and Modernism are reflected in the authors and works we read through the
characters actions and the overall tones of each work. Both Chopin and Fitzgerald are celebrated
authors, known for their groundbreaking works during their lifetime.
Realism is a literary period where authors focused on making their stories and characters more
realistic and organic, reflecting on real life experiences, while Modernism is a literary period where
many authors reflected the disillusionment from the First World War in their works through the
creation of a new modern hero and the build a self theme. After World War I (also known as the Great
War), the nation no longer believed in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

lived, [the money] gave her a feeling of importance such as she had not enjoyed for years . She longs
for the freedom and carelessness of her younger years, before she had to be smart with every cent for
the well being of her children and herself, but through her escape from reality and indulging in her
desires, we see her drift away from the smart mother who would not carelessly throw money around to

  • 2. Choosing An Agent For A Fun Ride My husband and I knew we were going to be in for a fun ride since we were first time home buyers. For some time we had been preparing for this immense steep to take. Before we even knew it, it was time to purchase a home. We had done some home searching online, looking at the different price ranges of homes, their locations, and the square footage, crime rates for different areas, schools among others. We thought we were ready. Choosing an Agent to help us in the process was an easy task, it only took a couple of phones calls. Knowing what we wanted in a house was also an easy task; we had a price range and our list of what our dream house would need to have was fairly simple. Three houses we re on our list; a cottage style home, a very particular ghostly house and our now home. The first home was a warm and inviting cottage style home. Its light blue chipped paint, showed that this house had not been vacated or taken care of for some time, its red foreclose sign in the yard clarified it. The first thing you could noticed as you walked through the arched framed front door was the wood flooring throughout the dining and living room. The house had three rooms, one in each level of the house; main, second and basement. The spacious master bedroom was upstairs, with more windows than walls. We loved it, all that bright sunlight gave the impression that the room was bigger than already was. The other bedroom was smaller but perfect for to be our son s play room. The ... The Raising of the Cross The Raising of the Cross Peter Paul Reubens, The Raising of The Cross found on page 265 in our art book, was created 1610 1611 by the use of oil on panel, dimensions 462 x 339 cm. Many facets of this painting caught my attention, but the prime facet was the geometric support it influences and the sentimental effect it distributes to the spectators, also Reuben s motive and content behind the painting. It may at first glance appear that this painting is all cluttered, but you would be mistaken. Reuben placed each item precisely in this piece of art. This style of painting is called Baroque. The style of art Baroque means detailed and broad paintings. Reubens evades rigid lines and tedious geometric structure to establish life and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the right panel of the painting, the guards are shouting their orders to the men who are obeying because they probably would be killed had they not. There are dark clouds rolling in to cover the sun representing possible sadness, evil and pain. On the left panel of the painting, there are priests, woman and children cringing in fear and horror. This division of anger, hatred, fear and sadness evokes many mixed emotions. Reubens use of light and dark colors create a sense of emphasis and subordination. He puts emphasis on innocent characters such as a woman and children and Jesus. Everything else in the painting is dark and creates the subordination so that it is not the main focus in the picture. The one facet that brings a sense of normality back into the painting in my opinion is the random dog in the middle panel; it is neither sad nor angry. Perhaps this is Reubens attempt to truly represent the middle of the emotional realm in this painting. Finally, I want to address the true meaning behind the painting that Reuben intended. The roman leaders and soldiers did not want people to worship or find encouragement from Jesus and his beliefs in being the son of God. So they had a trial against him for being a threat against the Romans self proclaimed authority. The trial ended with Jesus being sentenced to death by crucifixion. The painting is Reubens interpretation of what the moment of Jesus being raised up on the cross looked and felt like to him. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Some people believe the Bills of Rights are outdated and need to be modernized. Our Bill of Rights should not be altered and therefore should remain the same. These rights retain an important role in American society and outlines specific freedoms for all Americans. They are essential to preserving our individual rights while ensuring freedom for our future generations. The Bill of Rights is the name for the first ten Amendments of the United States Constitution. This limits the power of the U.S. Federal Government. Those limitations protect our natural God given rights and ensure no man or government will be able to obtain excessive power and infringe them. Some of these rights include freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of assembly, and our right to keep and bear arms. Our Founding Fathers wanted to name these particular rights to prevent citizens from being oppressed and to the limit the intrusion of the Government. The Bill of Rights should not be altered because it protects the citizens of America and it enumerates specific freedoms given to us in our Constitution. This conference was filled with opportunities and growth. There were many challenges discussed in Habitat III, including building resident cities while promoting risk reduction strategies, creating a new urban agenda on adequate housing, and fostering socially inclusive solutions to housing issues. Although I did not participate in the committee as a delegate representing one nation, but rather represented all member states in a staff position, I learned just as much as the other delegates. What if someone were to tell you that because of selective breeding, your precious pooch may be in danger. Selective breeding is something that breeders do to get the best looking dogs. Breeders do this for show dogs and for sport dogs but in the the bulldogs case it is very dangerous. Bulldogs are now faced with a decreased lifespan, more health problems, and is leading to less of a species variety. Studies show that sometime in the next 10 50 years, if selective breeding continues, the bulldogs will have their noses touching their foreheads. 100 years ago, the english bulldog was able to reproduce and give birth to their puppies without question, but now they need to be artificially inseminated and have to have a cesarean section birth because of how their bodies are now shaped. This is a disadvantage to the bulldog because now breeders can inseminate dogs and can continue to breed them. These dogs also lost the ability to travel on planes because of overheating and breathing problems when they reach a certain altitude on the plane. Many more abilities and activities have also been taken away, such as being able to play and enjoy themselves because they get tired and need to actually take a break to breathe. Foster s, The Coquette, Eliza Wharton is portrayed as a woman of status, above average intelligence and education, with a flirtatious nature. As such, The Coquette should be viewed as a literary warning for young women of the day, especially those who may have shared undesirable attributes with Eliza. It is the novel s intent, by way of Eliza s thoughts and actions, to discourage young women from pursuing a fleeting and non virtuous lifestyle. It is causing ocean warming, mass extinction of fish species, coral bleaching, phylogenic changes in ocean populations, and many more negative consequences. I did my senior project on coral bleaching due to ocean acidification and there has been little new information on the subject, in the public sector, since then. According to a study done in 2016 a strong link between seawater pH and coral calcification is supported by data the pH of the coral calcifying fluid (CCF) is elevated relative to the surrounding seawater pH, and that acidification of the surrounding seawater causes a reduction in pH of the CCF (Edmunds et al., 2016). The Great Barrier Reef has been in crisis for at least a couple decades because of severe coral bleaching and calcification. In the last couple years, large sections of the reef have died because of changing environmental conditions. The situation is similar in many of the coral reefs around the planet. Ocean Acidification will continue to have monumental lasting negative effects on the environment unless drastic changes are made to the way humanity is using our natural resources. Ocean Acidification occurs when the ocean uptakes carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and the resulting chemical reactions make the water more acidic. Body composition matters when it comes to this, because being overweight and unhealthy makes a difference. Knowing where a person weight needs to be to stay and feel healthy is important. Hurricane forecasting has improved over time, In 1992, hurricane forecasts were issued to only three days, but now they are issued to five and soon they will be given for up to a week (Main). Predicting hurricanes is extremely difficult, but the development of faster computers and better satellite data has decreased the error percentage of forecasting hurricanes. Meteorologists had been using the limited technology to try and forecast the hurricane before it hit, but the advancement in technology has made forecasting hurricanes more accurate. Hurricane Fran hit North Carolina and Virginia on September 5, 1996. The technology that meteorologists had at the time was not very accurate nor helpful. One of the technologies that meteorologists used to forecast Fran was a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The satellites that they use today are more accurate than the ones used to forecast past hurricanes. The NOAA uses two types of satellites to get information for weather from: geostationary operational environmental satellites (GOES) and polar orbiting operational environmental satellites (POES). Meteorologists use GOES for national, regional, and short range forecasting. Meteorologists use POES for global, long term forecasting and environmental monitoring. The use of both these satellites complete a global weather satellite monitoring system, tracking atmospheric variables such as temperature and providing atmospheric data and cloud images needed to track and understand hurricanes ( Predicting Hurricanes: Times Have Changed ). The satellites help meteorologists forecast hurricanes with more accuracy than without using the satellites. The advancement of satellites has helped meteorologists be the most accurate they have ever been with forecasting ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 47. Theme Of A Clockwork Orange t was a hot summer day in the year 2011. Everyone is walkin around with popsicles, ice cream, and cold refreshments. Then, there is me, with a warm bottle of water and a bag of hot Cheetos I dreadfully regretted buying. I thought, this must be how my story ends, but just as I had given up hope, my younger brother walks by with a cold Sprite! The moment he leaves it, I dash over faster than you could say the word pop, and snatched up the can. Just as I took my first couple sips, i seemed to have been caught in a daze. Because after what seemed like the shortest 20 seconds ever before, i drop the can. Yes. Drop. The Sprite splashes all over the sidewalk and makes a big crash. My little brother yells at me for spilling his soda, but i ignore him, staring in astonishment at what was supposed to be my big break. You know what they say, What goes around comes around or maybe you know it as You get what you deserve and for you really frisky people, you can probably identify it as Karma s a ***** . Either way, i think the main theme that plays out in the story A Clockwork Orange, by Anthony Burgess is that karma always gets you. A Clockwork Orange is about a man named Alex Delarge, who is a teen (around sixteen or seventeen) that is the head of a four man gang in a future England setting. Due to his lack of leadership skills, his buddies turn on him and abandon him as he is apprehended by authorities. While in prison, he is put into a prototype hypnosis program called the ... A well known work of Chopin s, A Pair of Silk Stockings , is short, sweet, and touches on many ideas of Realism in its passages.
