The Findings At The 21st Century A Study Created By Dr....
The Findings Partners in the 21st Century is a study created by Dr. Ron Rogge, who is a relationship
expert psychologist. He does plenty of research on individual factors, health factors/behaviors, and
couples behavior (Rogge). The overall concept of this study was to explain what individuals seek for
in their relationships with another person. The study was completed online that consisted of questions
that ranged from personality questions that included one s gender, personality background, romantic
and sexual partners, drug and alcohol use, and sexually transmitted infections, etc. (Rogge). However,
the key part of the survey was to explain whether an individual is single or in a relationship. For
instance, if someone was single, in a relationship, engaged, or married etc. Based on answering that
question, the upcoming questions would have changed to other directions dependent on the answers.
The importance of answering the questions correctly played a role in the follow up questions because
it allows the user doing the study to pick what the user is looking for. For example, I selected I am
single and questions indicated if I use geo social apps to meet people. When someone selected single,
the survey began to dive into what the person wanted in a relationship. The questions contained many
different variations, including if one uses the survey to satisfy their sexual curiosity, experience new
people, have nothing better to do, or it s exciting. However, another

Textual Evidence Analysis
Teaching students how to provide accurate evidence from parts of stories, such as chapters, dramas,
and poems when writing or speaking about a text, and to describe how each successive part builds on
earlier sections is significantly important, because it improves the student reading comprehension
skills, which is a prerequisite for becoming a great reader. Previously, I taught my student to identify
key elements in a story to help her find the main idea and to use context clues to determine meaning of
words. However, after the lesson, I noticed my student made a poor effort to refer back to the story
when writing or talking about the story to provide appropriate evidence. In this lesson, my student will
not only summarize the story, but my student will also go back to the chapters, paragraph or stanzas to
provide accurate evidence. By doing that, my student will successfully completed the New York State
common core standard, which is Refer to parts of stories, dramas, and poems when writing or
speaking about a text, using terms such as chapter, scene, and stanza; describe how each successive
part builds on earlier ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is the reason, I am incorporating textual evidence in my teaching curriculum, so students could
use the meaning of a tricky words in their speech accurately. By doing that, it will improves the
student s semantic skills. This lesson teaches student to become fluent readers with acquiring strong
vocabulary, and secondly, to give students the opportunity to fully explore and manipulate words.
When students identify supporting evidence in a text, they are able to provide reasons for their opinion
based upon information they read, hear or interpret visually. Acquiring this skill allows students to
gain a deeper more profound understanding of the main idea or topic presented (PBS,

Causes Of Neururodevelopmental Disorders
Based on the fact that ASD is a neurodevelopmental disorder, there have been multiple studies
researching the neuroanatomical abnormalities found in ASD individuals. There have been a number
of those abnormalities associated with ASD (Donovan Basson, 2017). In the most recent study,
Donovan Basson, found the frontal cortex and the amygdala of an ASD individual s brain during the
early postnatal period has a tendency to overgrow followed by normalization, or even decrease, in
volume and cellularity, when compared to neurotypical individuals (2017). They described the
function of the frontal cortex of the brain to be in charge of executive functions (e.g., higher order
cognitive processing planning, decision making, working memory, ... Show more content on

From the results of the study, the investigators found that the participants with ASD showed lower
correct response rates for recognizing affect via emotional words and facial emoticons. They also
found that the part of the brain, called the fusiform gyrus, in the participants with ASD had a greater
activation rate during emotional word tasks when compared to their typically developing peers.
Interestingly, the investigators found that the fusiform gyrus of the participants with ASD had less of
an activation response to facial emoticons when compared to their typically developing peers (Han et
al., 2014).
Studies have also shown that the difficulty that individuals with ASD have with the acquisition and
understanding of humor is the effect of their deficits in theory of mind (ToM) (Semrud Clikeman
Glass, 2008; Jaegher, 2013; Samson, 2013; Whyte, Nelson, Scherf, 2014; Wu et al., 2014). Theory of
mind can be defined as the ability to understand and assign beliefs, traits, and emotions to oneself and
others, in other words the ability to put oneself in another s shoes (Semrud Clikeman Glass, 2008;
Samson, 2014; Wu et al., 2014). ToM is a complex linguistic ability (Wu et al., 2014). Emerich et al.,
found from their study that there was no specific sequence in the individuals with ASDs reasoning

Hydrogen Organic Compounds Of Wells G H
This groundwater investigation seeks to monitor physical and chemical parameters sufficient to
characterize groundwater throughout the study area and ultimately determine the source of chlorinated
organic compounds in Wells G H. In addition to analyzing samples for conventional parameters
(groundwater table elevation, field parameters, chemical concentrations), this study will incorporate
technology utilized in the emerging field of environmental forensics to conduct compound specific
isotope analysis (CSIA) and attempt to chemically fingerprint contaminant sources to identify
matching daughter products in Wells G H. The goal of this application of CSIA will be to identify the

estimate the date of release for each source to allocate responsibility; or 2) No None of the PRPs

performed by analyzing data collected from the investigation, producing iso concentration maps, and
calculating contaminant mass contributed to Wells G H and mass remaining in the subsurface and may
result in additional remedial investigations to evaluate remedial alternative and project ultimate

the West.
B. Relevance: This is relevant to everyone because tea has a lot of positive health outcomes, that are
beneficial to all of us.
C. Credibility Statement: I have been drinking tea very many years, but just recently started to
discover all the health benefits that come along with it.
D. Central Idea: To be as healthy as we can be, we need to be informed about what certain things,
specifically tea, can do to help improve our bodies overall health.
E. We will learn the different kinds of teas and the many health benefits that come with drinking them
such as their anticancer properties, prevention of diabetes, and they even help protect your teeth.
Transition to 1st main point: First, let s talk about the anticancer properties that are found in certain
teas. ll. Body
A. To talk about the heath benefits that tea provides you first need to know what kinds of teas there
are, because they all help our bodies in different ways.
1. In the article Types of Teas and Their Health Benefits from WebMD it is noted that although there
are many brews of tea, purist really only deem green tea. Black tea, white tea, and oolong tea as
authentic.
2. These all come from a shrub indigenous in China and Canada, called the camellia silences plant.
According to WebMD they hold special antioxidants called flavonoids.
3. ECGC is the most potent of flavonoids, and it helps fight against free radicals. Which is an atom
and when their paired with unpaired valance electrons it makes the free radical extremely radioactive
towards other things in the body which can lead to cancer. Green teas antioxidants interfere with the
development of colorectal cancers, the antioxidants found in Chamomile tea also stunt the growth of
cancer cells. White tea has the more dominant anticancer properties.

Introduction.
Organizational change management is a three word three word term that refers to a framework used to
manage the effects brought through business processes, organizational structure changes or changes
found in an organization. On the other hand, the psychological contract, developed by a scholar named
Denise Rousseau, involves informal arrangements, mutual beliefs, common ground and perceptions
between an employee and the employer. The theory behind it, according to Rousseau s article (1998),
defines the state of the relationship and defines detailed practility of the work to be done. This paper
emphises on the importance of organizational change agents to understand the psychological contract
theory, the barriers to organizational change and the methods and techniques involved in
organizational change management
Organizational change theory.

dollar was close to an eight year shortage against the real, having lost more than 33% of its value

diverse from a low of BRL R $1.5310 to in height of BRL $1.7790. During 2010, the United States
dollar typically kept an everyday exchange rate between (BRL) R$1.70 and (BRL) R$1.80,
occasionally reducing below the (BRL) R$1.70 level.
However in 2011 it had so far been devastating to the dollar. Thru late July, 2011, the dollar dropped
as little as R $1.5310, its lowest level since way before 2008 when the global financial crisis began. In
April, 2010, the Brazilian Central Bank increased interest rates in the country, which took as its
outcome the alliance of the real and the weakening of the dollar. The real touched quarterly in height

rate 0.75 percentage point to 9.5 percent. Later at that time, the Brazilian Central Bank has raised the
standard interest rate to 12.5% in an effort to curb inflation. Although some do not see the central
Bank raising the00201interest rates again in 2011, there should be many who would think at least one
more raise of 0.25% before the end of 2011 if increase continues. Thanks to the huge capital inflows
due to the huge sale of Petro Bras shares, the Brazilian real has been on a tear as of late. Yet, it is not

Eduard Wirths As A Doctor
During World War II, death, experimentation, and being a Jewish person was a fear that all people had
to worry about in Nazi Germany from 1939 to 1945; particularly in concentration camps. Eduard
Wirths was both a hero and an anti hero towards his patients, depending on what stance a person takes.
Wirths was known to have a sympathetic side to him that was a saving grace for many. However, the
experimentation he allowed patients to suffer through in order to gain success for his own research is
what makes him a criminal Nazi doctor. As the lead SS doctor for Auschwitz, Eduard Wirths main
duty was to oversee all that went on within the camps, and he approved work done by others such as
Joseph Mengele. Eduard Wirths was a dedicated party member, a competent physician, and a
renowned Auschwitz enemy. Eduard Wirths was a conscientious doctor with a confused set of morals
that may have been a lot more caring than an SS doctor should have been. Growing up, Eduard Wirths
family was Catholic and had a strong set of democratic socialist values. His father, who was a medical
corpsman during World War I, often expressed that Wirths shared the same work ethic ... Show more

he used this method so that the blame could never be put directly on him. Overall, Wirths time spent at
Auschwitz consisted of an incredible amount of experiments and clinical

Executive Officer of Adcor marketing practices change management as part of his normal day.
Actually, this is dint of the fact that his day is spent in coordinating, directing and following up with
the management team to make sure that they are responding to the performance goals. As a matter of
fact, Daren Arenburg is involve in change management daily because in daily basis he endeavors to

Anti-Slavery During The Revolutionary War
The Revolutionary War was fought on principles of liberty, freedom, and justice for all but when the
dust had settled, and the Constitution finally agreed upon, the American people still owned slaves. The
right to own other people was a cornerstone of American culture, and a major driver of its economy it
was unlikely to simple go away. Ironically, patriots would use a great deal of anti slavery rhetoric to
illustrate their struggle against the British, but in the aftermath of revolution, it became clear that all
men did not include black men. Slavery, as it is properly understood, is a terrible institution that relies
on oppression. Oftentimes, it used brutality and torture to keep productivity high. Such an oppressive

Similar to the American Revolution, the Haitians too seeked to create a republic founded on the values
of the Enlightenment but unlike the Americans, Haiti took this a step further, by outlawing slavery and
becoming the first modern nation ruled by Africans. As the French Revolution began, there was a
political crisis in St. Domingue, France s wealthiest colony, and supplier of nearly 40% of Europe s
sugar imports. Planters were threatened by the Revolution, which aimed to remove many of the
privileges enjoyed by the aristocracy (who made up the planter class). Wealthy free blacks, some of
who owned plantations themselves, began to demand equal rights to whites. Poor whites, felt that the
Revolution did not include blacks, and imagined a new society where they had enough to own slaves
themselves. Out of the chaos of this political struggle, the slave population of St. Domingue, which
made up nearly 90% of the colony s population, revolted and seized power for themselves. By 1794,
Haiti had seen one of the largest, and successful, slave rebellions in the course of human

The True Maeaning of Invisiblity
With the title that Ralph Ellison chose for this book one could easily conclude, without even reading
it, that the text is science fiction and deals with the super natural. Upon actually reading it however it
becomes painfully obvious that the main character of Invisible Man is quite visible indeed. Fictional
or not, he is a regular human being made of flesh and bone, and he even says so in the first sentences
of the book. So how can this black man possibly deem himself invisible? Perhaps this nameless
protagonist cannot be blamed completely for this freak occurrence. Maybe the invisibility stems from
a lack of sight of the people (mainly white) around him. Those people allow themselves to be blinded
by the semitransparent veil of stereotypes and racism, causing them not to be able to see the
protagonist/narrator for who he really is. With that being said, the narrator himself still has a part to
play in this so called invisibility. Throughout the story the narrator s actions cause people to see him as
someone he is not. It seems as though every time there is about to be a turning point in the narrator s
life his good ambitions are tampered with by the cruel intentions of those around him.
The genres of this work appear to be African American literature, satire, and in a sense it is a coming
of age kind of story. As such, the story follows the narrator s life during the great migration/Harlem
Renaissance era and has many different locations. It starts off in the

How to Implement Arts and Crafts Style
p The arts and crafts design is a distinctive type of interior design that opts for a beautiful, artistic and
natural feeling. It became popular in the turn of the 20th century as a preferred alternative to the more
conservative, rigid and stuffy design that was common in the Victorian era. It s a style of expression,
appreciation of natural and traditionally made furnishings and the beauty of art. If you re looking to
change up the interior design style in your home, there are several ways that you can transition into an
arts and crafts style. /p
h2 Wood /h2
p Nearly everyone who enjoys the arts and crafts style will tell you that wood is one of the most vital
aspects to achieving the style. Not just using items that are made of wood, but keeping them unpainted
and usually unstained. Nothing can quite match the look and feel of wood grain in a home, and it is a
wonderful addition to any room. Wooden doors, trim, chairs, tables, bed frames, dressers, cabinets and
more can all be made from wood. Remember that any wood items in the bathroom should be sealed or
treated to prevent rot from the moisture buildup. /p

This line shows that the soldiers have nearly already made up their mind that they will die and that

Drug delivery is always referred to new approaches, formulations, technologies and systems that help

Lacunae of Present Day Drug Delivery System
Some of the serious lacunae in the current drug delivery systems are as follows:
a. A reduced loading and therapeutic effect due to partial degradation of the drug before it reaches its
destination is a major concern. For example, a drug administered orally may undergo changes in the
stomach due to the action of gastric enzymes. Drugs administered through enteral routes undergo a
first pass effect, which is the term used for the hepatic metabolism of a pharmacological agent when it
is absorbed from the gut and delivered to the liver via the portal circulation. These processes lead to
premature drug loss due to drug metabolism and rapid clearance from the body.
b. A lack of targeting ability is yet another major disadvantage of many drugs. When a drug is
administered parenterally, it is distributed to all parts of the human body through the bloodstream,
rather than to the specific target organ which needs the pharmacological treatment. Biochemical and
physiological barriers of certain organs also limit drug delivery to the specified organ, like the human

The True Nature Of Polymers
Since the beginning Polymers have been with us; they form the very basis of life. Until the middle of
the 20thcentury we were unaware but slowly and gradually we began to understand the true nature of
polymers. This understanding came with the development of plastics, which are materials truly mady
by man that are the ultimate tribute to man s creativity and ingenuity. The use of polymeric materials
has permeated in every facet of our lives. It is hard to visualize today s world with all its luxury and
comfort without man made polymeric materials.
Polymer materials in the form of solid plastics, fibers, elastomers, or foams. They may be hard or soft
or may be films, coatings, or adhesives. They can be made porous or nonporous or can melt with heat
or set with heat. The possibilities are almost endless and their applications are fascinating. Although
plastic materials in general are thermally unstable, ablation of some organic polymers occurs at
extremely high temperatures. Consequently, selected plastics are used to shield reentry vehicles from
the severe heat generated by air friction and to protect rocket motor parts from hot exhaust gases,
based on the concept known as ablation plastics. Also, there is a plastic armor that can stop a bullet,
even shell fragments. In addition to our food industrial sector , there are flexible plastics films that are
used to wrap your favorite bread, while others are sufficiently rigid and rugged to serve as supporting

Medea By Euripides Play Analysis
Power in itself is not good or evil. The use of power is heavily influenced by the moral compass of
those with power. It isn t uncommon for someone with the possession of power to bend and change
their morals to gain more power. Power used corruptly does not always have to be from someone like
a king. Greed for power in itself can corrupt someone. Emotions of vengeance, envy, and lust can
make a person in power corrupt too. Whether or not power has corrupted someone, their character
determines how they use their power in the end. In Euripides play, Medea, Jason s greed for power
corrupts him. During the beginning of Euripides play, Medea and Jason are two lovers that had just
moved to Corinth, and together they had two children. Jason decides that he will try to marry king
Creon s daughter Glauce to make him the heir of the kingdom. Jason allowed his moral compass to
change for his search of power. Power corrupted Jason even though he did not have it. Leaving Medea
for Glauce will turn out to be Jason s worst decision for his families future. Jason s actions angered
Medea, leading her be filled by vengeance. Medea lets vengeance get the best of her, and thinks that
killing Jason would not be enough to fulfill her ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Hockey Rivalry
The intense sounds of the mixed nation crowd filled the ears of many in Kristin s Hall. USA verses

Neurological Amnesia
Amnesia can occur depending on the type and on the cause of amnesia. When the brain is injured, it
can interfere with memories because it damages the brain structure that forms the limbic which is
what controls the emotions and memories. This can affect many lives because the person could forget a
distant relative to a family member as well as it might cause mood swings from being depressed into
angry. There is amnesia called neurological amnesia. Neurological amnesia is when the brain gets
damaged somehow and what will happen is memory s might get erased or lost. Neurological amnesia

Occupational therapy might help is because it could help learn new information in where the memory
had disappeared from. Occupational therapy could also allow you to get better memory because of the
games which could help memorizing new things and understanding of extended conversation.
Technology can also help people with amnesia because on it you could write thing you had to do day
by day and can help the patient with amnesia remember your reminders for example, taking
medications. As of right now there is not a medication for most of the amnesia s considering that there
are many amnesia s.But the person can be always be supported for example, the friend or family can
talk to him about how he feels getting the person what he needs also staying with him. If the person
with amnesia has permanent for maybe a little less severe some organizations might help him out.
There are some prevention s of amnesia, avoid alcohol because of the affects of it on the memory part
of your brain, some amnesia s happen because of concussions and concussions happen from hitting

Raskolnikov As A Good Man Essay

14 October 2015 Guilt Raskolnikov lives an ordinary life as an ordinary man. He is a good man and
has a good heart, but he soon commits a crime that will forever change his life. Raskolnikov is a good
man; I believe he is kind, generous, and selfless. Now, how are all of these positive traits found in a
murderer? I think was caught in a psychotic moment, his mental state was not all there, and he had a
dream, he made a plan, and he committed this terrible crime. A good example of Raskolnikov being a
kind hearted person, and selfless is when he sees a young girl at the end of the street, he sees by her a
rough looking man staring at her. He starts to get very worried what this man might do to this young
girl. He goes down the street to get this young girl, and he pays for a taxi to get her home. This was so
generous, and small yet so impactful. Raskolnikov cared about what might happen to this young girl,
and did something about it. This showed how selfless Raskolnikov is, and what a kind heart he has. I
think this shows Raskolnikov s true character. From here, he makes some terrible decisions, and is
engulfed by guilt, but I believe he is a generous, kindhearted person. In this book, Crime And
Punishment, Raskolnikov goes from being an ordinary man with an ordinary life to a murderer,
tortured by guilt, haunted by the memory of his crime, and him finding himself again in society after
the murders. Raskolnikov soon

It s A Crisp, Clear Skies Kind Of Friday Morning Essay
It s a crisp, clear skies kind of Monday morning. I awoke earlier than usual to spend quiet time, in the
early morning light, in the hot tub, with God before I write and before I meditate. The initial moments
of the day are somehow much richer in solitude and inspiration comes more succinctly than mid and
late day moments. A plausible explanation may be: I am rested, and there s a lack of human made
energy buzzing around me or it could simply be that my mind isn t buzzing because it s not yet fully
awakened. When my mind is buzzing, my entire body follows suit. Perhaps, the buzzing racing mind
is part of what separates me from God. The irony of being in my headspace is that the body is always
in the present moment, connected to the earth. The breath can serve as a reminder; for when I focus
my attention on inhaling and exhaling, my thoughts slow down, my mind stops buzzing about, and for
brief, fleeting moments, I am fully in the present. Being fully present is where the mysteries of life
dance, my intuition picks up on subtle energy, words and emotions of others float in. When I am
present for others, I am transformed as if I am infused with and transferring love, compassion, hope,
empathy, and kindness to others. These are the moments that I live for, the random coincidences where
God puts another in my path. A path on which I am never sure if I am the teacher or the student and
therefore, I become aware of humility that most often likes to hide underneath false notions of

Finding A Correlation Between A Solution s Salt...
Abstract
The purpose of this experiment is to find a correlation between a solution s salt concentration and its
density. The objectives are: First review use of electronic balance. Next learn to calibrate the
glassware. Than learn to use a volumetric flask. After that learn how to determine density. Finally
learn how to calculate percent error. It is known that density equals mass divided by volume which is a
simple formula that gives half of the desired information. The equipment that was used for this
experiment was the Graduated cylinder and the Volumetric flask.
Introduction
The scenario is that you are a chemical engineer for the Podwitz Pharmaceutical Company.
Management of the company has determined there a is a market for off brand contract care solutions,
and has chosen you to an important task in quality control. As you must develop a procedure that can
be used to as a final check of the same saline strength of the product, and the USP regulations require
saline strength to be no more than 5%.
The purpose of this experiment is to measure mass and volume, the main focus of this procedure is to
determine whether there is any correlation between density and concentration of salt in a solution of
water and salt in which the amount of salt is unknown. The purpose is to determine the best procedure
for measuring density. Will the graduated cylinder yield more accurate readings or will it be the
volumetric flask? In this experiment it was decided to proceed by taking

Law Enforcement Lessons Learned Essay
One of the the best lessons learned from history for today s practice of law enforcement intelligence is
the necessity of obeying the law and procedures as in addition to corruption and a lack of incentive to
do things by the book many officers lacked the wherewithal to make a difference in their jurisdiction.
After much public outcry we are now able rely more on today s law enforcement as they are placed
under strict management and are regularly evaluated to ensure consistency and reduce bias from the
system. This leads into another lesson with involves respecting people s rights, with great power
comes great responsibility as they say, officers are often tasked to respond to calls for service, order
maintenance, etc. which involves many ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another reason is improving methods of data collection, processing, and reporting, as in the past law
enforcement were trained to react to crime, so even if a the idea of regularly documenting all
information is brought up many officers lack the experience and the guidance to gather and process
the information that they find. Unfortunately it takes a string of tragedies that could have been
prevented through threat based intelligence prompt more security policies to be passed, but at least
now many law enforcement departments have more resources they use to guide them. Lastly is the
lesson about sharing intelligence, many law enforcement departments were hesitant to share classified
information as it would perhaps add likely so much more to their already stressful workload and the
possible repercussions of displaying evidence of misidentification and mismanagement. However in
the wake of past tragedies that resulted from the failure to provide the intelligence it had become more
apparent that it would be in everyone s best interest to open up more channels of communication.
While there are other lessons we can learn from history I feel that these are the four main ideas that
most people will agree that law enforcement should adhere

Religion In Country Music
One aspect that I analyzed in country music was the presence of religion. This is an issue that many
sociologists choose to analyze because of its relation to organizations and groups. In country music
there is a strong Christian presence and although it didn t occur considerably in the songs I analyzed, it
tends to be the only religion associated with country music. Religion Plays a key role in developing
people s ideas about right and wrong (2015; 75). This sole reason can be a major influence in many
country lyrics, as well as the culture of country music. Country music is not a religion by any means,
but the role of Christianity in the music can have a significant role in the way listeners determine what
is right and wrong. Religion s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All of these tended to have a major reoccurrence in all of the songs. The question I can now answer is
how does country music play a role into the fears and dreams of the listeners. In the lyrics there is a
certain kind of language that the artists use to try and capture an image in the listener s head. In
society, Language gives mean to the people, objects, events, and the ideas of our lives. If fact,
language reflects and often determines reality (2015; 30). The reality is that the language in these
songs gives to the listener can give them a dream of finding true love. The language gives hope to the
listener that there is that one person they will love out there, but this also plays into the fear of
heartbreak. Heartbreak was also discussed a great amount and is something that most people tend to
fear. Another way that these songs play towards people s fears and dreams is through social class and
money. While social class is one of the most common issues, the lyrics and videos manage to give
followers the images of how a luxurious lifestyle can lead to happiness and love. This can definitely
have a fear aspect to it as well because of how unlikely it is that a person will fall into the social class
that the songs

Essay on The Representation of Women in Some Like It Hot...
The Representation of Women in Some Like It Hot and Alien 3
This essay will be about how women are and have been represented in films in the past and how they
are represented nowadays. I will be looking at the roles and representations of women in Some Like It
Hot and Alien 3 .
Some Like It Hot was made in 1958. Marilyn Monroe starts in the comedy as Sugar Cane who is a
very feminine musician. Alien 3 on the other hand was made 40 years after and is a sci fi horror.
Sigourney Weaver is the star of the film and plays the character Lt. Ripley. Unlike Sugar Cane, Lt.
Ripley is a very tough and manly character.
Some Like It Hot is about two musicians. They witness a massacre and try to ... Show more content on

This shows that all a woman s ambition is, is to be a wife which represents women to be very shallow
and needy. It is ironic that the man Sugar Cane describes as the one she will never fall for, is the type
of man she does fall for.
In the film, Tony Curtis plays Joe who is one of the musicians on the run. When he cross dresses, he
becomes Josephine and becomes close with Sugar. He lures her in and encourages her to confess her
dream husband. He then transforms himself into this character called Junior so he can get her. In the
end, when he confesses that he isn t Josephine or Junior, Sugar Cane doesn t get annoyed that she was
fooled by him. Instead, she runs away with him. This portrays Sugar Cane to be a very narrow minded
character that has nothing else on her mind.
There are other representations of women in Some Like It Hot . The two musicians who are on the run
have to cross dress as they have got jobs in an all female band. Tony Curtis plays Josephine and Jack
Lemmon plays Daphne. While dressed as women, the two men experience how much women are
discriminated against and used. They react to this by acting how they would expect to women to act
and experience yet even more discrimination. However, their minds don t change in the slightest and
both have Sugar Cane on their minds. They both compete to win her heart and both try getting very
close to her as women.

said,
Even those companies that say they will maintain the same standards as in the developed world find it
difficult to resist the temptation to take a shortcut. Even if they have a good design for their plant,
however, there s no good infrastructure in the underdeveloped countries. Even if they put it away from
population centers, who will check and control that the people don t come in around it? (Newton
Dillingham, 2002, p. 90).
Had Union Carbide exercised more responsibility and ethics from the very beginning, perhaps the
Bhopal disaster would have been avoided.
Preventing Future Disasters
The Bhopal accident served as a wake up call for the chemical industry (Lang, 1984, para. 23). In
response, the Chemical Manufacturers Association created a program called Responsible Care®, the
chemical industry s commitment to the continuous improvement of environmental, health, safety and
security performance (Overview, 2004, para. 1). Jeff Lipton, chief executive of Nova Chemicals Corp
stated, When the average person thinks about chemicals, they think about risks and hazards instead of
benefits (Herrick, 2003, para. 9). Responsible Care® addresses those concerns by implementing the
following practices: (Overview, 2004, para. 2):

An act/rule is efficient (leads to overall improvement in social welfare) if at least one party would gain

Automatic Response To Stress Essay
Psychological and physical well being and the overall quality of life are under a constant threat of
stress and thus, psychological and medical sciences have long been concerned with studying stress
response. Cox (1979) claimed that because of the poor understanding and defining it, the concept of
stress tends to be rather elusive. The term, stress , commonly describes any physchological or physical
alteration that deranges the organism s homeostasis (or balance). This essay reviews some of the
biological factors involved in stress and it has been organized in the following way. The paper begins
by briefly introducing the concept of stress. It will then go on to discus and describe the automatic
response (fight or flight reaction), ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The trouble begins when multiple life incidents hit us all at once and this is because during periods of
dramatic changes, individuals are more vulnerable to stress (Jones Bright, 2001). Therefore, stress has
got the ability to activate pretty every system within the body, however, through a rather rudimentary
mechanism which lies within the cellular level (Shreedhar et al., 2010).
Humans experience similar dramatic physiological stress responses as other species. That is to say, the
physique response to a stressor prepares the body for rapid physical action (fight or flight). More
rarely, as Rudinger (1988) argue, sitting paralysed by fear may constitute another response to stress.
The fight or flee stress response involve extremely rapid, virtually immediate, changes within the
muscular systems and organs (Pinel, 2006).
When the sense organs (of hearing or sight) receive the alarm signal they instantly pass it to the brain.
Then the brain sends messages to the muscles and organs and therefore, muscles contract, often very
abruptly. If the state of alertness is prolonged, muscle activity and tension remain high in order to
prepare the body of reacting quickly to any subsequent stimuli. In a fight or flight situation, heart rate
changes. Furthermore, there are a series of chain reactions. The first thing that happens is that the heart
starts to beat faster in order to pump a copious supply of blood to the essential

Human Experimentation Persuasive Essay
Hi, I m Katie snow and I will be supporting why human experimentation is ethical. I d like to start off
saying that society often forgets the contribution human experimentation has had in vaccines, medical
treatment, psychiatry, and the military. For example Although Cancer has been incurable since the day
of its diagnosis recent studies and acts of human experimentation we have discovered a breakthrough!
In 2011 a little girl diagnosed with Cancer named Emily was given the opportunity to be one of the
first patients to volunteer for human experimentation were doctors inject genetically modified HIV
cells (T cells) into the bloodstream of the child. Within weeks of Emily s trial her cancer started going
away and eventually was cured! The example given is just one of many representations of how human
experimentation is changing the world today answering questions and problems we only dreamed of
solving in the future. Saddening enough these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although experiments in the past where inhumane and practiced unsupervised by a higher power, we
do not practice human experimentation the same way other countries have in the past. The world is
changing we do not live in any other time period but today in the present. We are educated civilized
people with laws and governments! Others may argue that human experimentation in the past has been
taken too far. For example in the early 1900s specifically 1930s the holocaust began. The holocaust as
we all know was a devastating, heartbreaking, and cold time, but we also must remind ourselves that
yet it was a sad and devastating piece of history it also was a breakthrough in science. During the time
of the holocaust many Jews where experimented on and killed. Yet again this is horrifying but this has
also given us a huge gigantic expansion of knowledge about the human body that still contributes to
science

How To Stop Frisk
Stop and frisk Essay
I disagree that stop and frisk practices should be continued in the U.S.My reasons for this is it s
making more crimes happen, it s racial profiling, and it s unconstitonial. Although some of the people
who have been caught in a stop and frisk have had done illegal things, most of the people that got
stopped were innocent.
My first reason is it has just made more crimes happen. When Bloomberg became the mayor of New
York, over 700,000 crimes had happened from 2000 to 2010 in New York. The NYPD killed Sean Bell
a 23 year old unarmed black man in 2006.He was shot 50 times the night before his wedding. After
all, this increased crimes.A crime is an action consists offense to the state law.In addition, this is just
causing more things to happen and racism this is not helping ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

As can be seen in the amendments we should discontinue stop snd frisk because we are not following
the admendment.
On the other hand in the first presidential debate, Presidential candidate Donald Trump argued that
stop and frisk was effective in New York and other people agreed with him.
But also 80 to 90 percent of those people that were stopped were doing nothing wrong. Also in 2013 a
federal judge in New York said that the policy of stop and frisk was discriminatory and
unconstitutional. Therefore, these reasons show why stop and frisk should be discontinued.
In conclusion, disagreeing with stop and frisk practices can help racism decrease.Stop and frisk
practices are just causing more crimes, it s racial profiling, and also it s unconstitutional. These are my
reasons why stop and frisk practices should be

New York Schools Struggle With New Rules Essay
The article, New York Schools Struggle With New Rules to Help Students Learning English, by
Elizabeth A. Harris from the New York Times, documents the current struggle of New York state
public school ESL programs to fully accommodate the immigrant students needs. Overall, the ESL
program is not effective in helping second language students catch up in subjects taught in English. In
addition, the supply and demand is heavily unbalanced. More immigrant students are enrolling in
public schools yet there is a lack of trained ESL teachers available even if the school wanted to hire
more or establish more ESL programs. Take Bengali, for example. It is the fourth most common
language among pupils learning English in the city s public schools. But there are only three bilingual
Bengali programs in the schools.
The article points out several main problems the administration is facing. The first is the obvious low
funding due to the insufficient attention given to ESL learning as part of the public school education.
Ms. DeJesus, of the teachers union, said...almost every city school needed to hire one or two teachers,
which would put the numbers required in the thousands. And the new rules came with very little in the
way of resources $1 million for the entire state, which has left schools scrambling.
In addition, there is a lack of qualified, well trained ESL teachers to hire even with enough funding.
However, lack of ESL teachers doesn t just happen overnight. Different

David Brooks The Humanist Vocation Analysis
In an article entitled The Humanist Vocation , which appeared in the New York Times, David Brooks,
a well known columnist, and an op ed editor for the New York Times, claims that the decline in
numbers of humanities graduates is due to the humanists loss of interest and faith in their mission,
supporting his claims with lines from a note written by one of the history teachers of the University of
Chicago back when he himself was a freshman. Brooks is definitely right when he tries to link this
decrease in humanities majors, however, he does not fully succeed in tackling the real issue behind the
drastic change.
According to Brooks, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In fact, the matter goes beyond that reason. Why would someone choose a major that only focuses on
conceptual ideas, and is not required in the job market unless it is for teaching the humanities? It
seems like a never ending loop. One person can give a lecture to a hundred people, but not each one of
them will be able to teach another hundred. While other majors that are demanded in the market are
more vast and broad. An engineer can work in a company, on their own inventions, and even teach
subjects related to their majors for instance. Brooks needed to see the matter from a realistic point of
view, since the reason is, after all, economic in the first place. When he argues that a 19 years old
freshman will see the humanities as a boring and useless major, he forgets or misses to mention, that
people go to universities to prepare themselves for the job market. And there is no point of going to
the market with a certificate that will lead them nowhere. With that being said, Brooks also insists on
quoting a history teacher, transmitting to the reader his own perspective of the reason he thinks is
causing the

Hong Kong, the Special Administrative Region of the People s Republic of China, is an economically,
politically and culturally unique city in Pacific Asia. As one of the world s leading international
financial centres, Hong Kong is prosperous and very densely populated. However, even a modern,
highly developed megacity like Hong Kong has its major downfalls; the largest civil movement in the
history of Hong Kong broke out in its business centre, Central, approximately a year ago. On
September 28th, 2014, a group of Hong Kong students organized by Occupy Central with Love and

Theme of Love in Much Ado and Twelfth Night
AS English Literature Unit 2 (Coursework)
EXPLORATIVE STUDY
Shakespeare s Twelfth Night is studied and his Much Ado About Nothing is used to explore the theme
of love. Performances are referred to.
Shakespeare s romantic comedies explore love, the divine passion , in all its moods and intensities.
Most characters in these two plays are in love, find love or seek it. Twelfth Night, reputedly the most
mature of Shakespeare s romantic comedies, weaves several such love stories into an intricate collage
to explore different types of love and its easy descent into pain or folly.
John Gross, in a 1991 review of Twelfth Night in the Sunday Telegraph, said Twelfth Night is about
true love and its egocentric counterfeits. Orsino s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Viola Orsino and Benedick Beatrice loves are comparable, since both are constant, clear eyed, and
more based on a weathered and thorough understanding of each other than on mere physical attraction
theirs is the marriage of true minds . Even true love could be silly though, as Kenneth Branagh,
playing Benedick in his 1993 version, displays in his antics when bitten by the lovebug; Newsweek, in
a 1993 review of this adaptation, aptly judged it as portraying the absolute absurdity and absurd
absoluteness of love.
In comparison, though Claudio is genuinely attracted to Hero, his love seems fickle, jealous and
immature. Claudio, a sensible conventional wooer, first verifies Hero s social and financial
compatibility ( Hath Leonato any son...? ), but their relationship lacks trust and instinctive
understanding of each other. This is the reason Claudio believes Don John s intrigue, though Hero,
being sweet and submissive, remains true to him regardless of his treatment of her. Their union
therefore seems less sound than Beatrice and Benedick s and less acceptable to a modern audience,
which is probably why, in the 2005 Shakespeare Retold version of Much Ado, Hero declines Claude s
second offer.
Sebastian and Olivia s love too, though true, doesn t seem on par with the Viola Orsino and Beatrice
Benedick loves in terms of depth and appreciation of each other. Despite falling in love in a flash and
being united only by a flood

Civilization And Perception
George Orwell, 20th century award winning novelist of 1984 wrote, He who controls the past controls
the future. He who controls the present controls the past. This idea is the fundamental basis under
which lies various identity surrounded disputes within modern communities. The influence of the
Spanish conquest on Native Americans and their struggle to reconstruct their identity today, and the
Ayodhya dispute between the Hindu and Muslim people depicts the consequences of the Western idea
of White Man s burden and the importance of a nation state s interpretation of the past to assert a
political agenda. The past s concept of civilization greatly affects modern perception of identities
today, thus leading to contention in the identity struggles ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The past is used to form and reinforce group identities, and physical things are used as evidence of
national identity, and powerful symbols of a civilization s impact on an area . The Babri mosque stood
as a religious symbol of Muslim national identity, and for the Hindu community, a denial of their
religious heritage. Since 1947, Hindus have tried to prove that the first Mughal emperor, Babur,
destroyed a temple for their deity: Rama, and in its place built the mosque. In 1942, Hindu nationalists
destroyed the Mosque, and the riots that broke out in India and Bangladesh contributed to over three
thousand deaths. The destruction of the symbolic site was the Hindu nationalist s attempt to erase
Muslim national identity from India, to assert control over the civilization they considered to be their
subordinates. Excavatory efforts in 1990 unearthed sculptures that the Hindus believed to be of Rama.
In 2003, upon court ordered excavation, evidence of a prior Hindu structure was unearthed, and in
2010 the court of India divided the site into three parts, the Hindus receiving two thirds of the site, and
Muslims the rest. Materially, by promoting their interpretations of the past, Hindu people gained an
official ruling that stated that the site was the birthplace of Rama. Ideologically, they received public
acknowledgement that the site

Advantage Of Home Field Advantage
There are advantages to playing at home outside of during the game like no traveling, sleeping in your
own bed, and home cooked meals (Voyer, 2015). Other researchers implied that another possible
influence for the home team is officiating bias (Wright and House 1984). In Baumeister and
Steinhilber s study, a supportive audience increased the home team s general motivation during the
game (Baumeister and Steinhilber 1984). Previous research suggested humans are alike animals in a
way that both are more confident, more powerful, and have less stress in their own territory than the
opponent s territory (Ardrey, 1966; Lea 1984; Brown 1987; Forsyth, 1990). According to study done

The Chinese Culture And Chinese Values
Conflicts and tensions between Britain and China broke out during the Qing dynasty due to Britain s
ignorance towards Chinese culture and discrepancies between Chinese and Western values. Reflected
in Lord Macartney s account of his first meeting with Emperor Qianlong in 1792, the source
highlights Britain s belief of how they had taken the right steps to impress the Emperor to begin
establishing stronger trade relations with China. However, Britain were ignorant of the negative
attitudes towards traders in the Chinese culture and China s inferior view of non Chinese nations.
Therefore, although Britain intended to negotiate trade relations with China in a respectful manner,
their ignorance towards Chinese culture and discrepancies between ... Show more content on

As seen in Henry Dunda s Commission to Lord Macartney where he was asked to take every possible
opportunity that may arise...for promoting the trade of India to the East. The beginning of Macartney s
account illustrates his intention of being respectful towards the emperor and Chinese culture. He
provides a detailed description about what he is wearing to show the attention [he] always paid...to
oriental customs and ideas. However, when addressing the emperor, he bowed on one knee instead of
following the Chinese custom of kowtow . The kowtow is the important action of bowing before the
emperor and touching the head to the ground which represented China s sense of moral, spiritual, and
intellectual superiority . Therefore, Britain s ignorance of basic Chinese cultural values such as the
kowtow suggests Britain s ignorance of more significant values of Qing China related to Chinese
attitudes in trade. In Confucianism and the Chinese culture, merchants and traders in the Chinese
culture were looked down upon as they profited from exploiting other people s creations. This
negative stigma surrounding traders clashed with Britain s aims of increasing their exports to China as
the Chinese would be indifferent towards increasing their imports. However, the desperate need to
obtain trade equality with China caused

  • 2. The Findings At The 21st Century A Study Created By Dr.... The Findings Partners in the 21st Century is a study created by Dr. Ron Rogge, who is a relationship expert psychologist. He does plenty of research on individual factors, health factors/behaviors, and couples behavior (Rogge). The overall concept of this study was to explain what individuals seek for in their relationships with another person. The study was completed online that consisted of questions that ranged from personality questions that included one s gender, personality background, romantic and sexual partners, drug and alcohol use, and sexually transmitted infections, etc. (Rogge). However, the key part of the survey was to explain whether an individual is single or in a relationship. For instance, if someone was single, in a relationship, engaged, or married etc. Based on answering that question, the upcoming questions would have changed to other directions dependent on the answers. The importance of answering the questions correctly played a role in the follow up questions because it allows the user doing the study to pick what the user is looking for. For example, I selected I am single and questions indicated if I use geo social apps to meet people. When someone selected single, the survey began to dive into what the person wanted in a relationship. The questions contained many different variations, including if one uses the survey to satisfy their sexual curiosity, experience new people, have nothing better to do, or it s exciting. • 3. Textual Evidence Analysis Teaching students how to provide accurate evidence from parts of stories, such as chapters, dramas, and poems when writing or speaking about a text, and to describe how each successive part builds on earlier sections is significantly important, because it improves the student reading comprehension skills, which is a prerequisite for becoming a great reader. Previously, I taught my student to identify key elements in a story to help her find the main idea and to use context clues to determine meaning of words. However, after the lesson, I noticed my student made a poor effort to refer back to the story when writing or talking about the story to provide appropriate evidence. In this lesson, my student will not only summarize the story, but my student will also go back to the chapters, paragraph or stanzas to provide accurate evidence. By doing that, my student will successfully completed the New York State common core standard, which is Refer to parts of stories, dramas, and poems when writing or speaking about a text, using terms such as chapter, scene, and stanza; describe how each successive part builds on earlier ... Causes Of Neururodevelopmental Disorders Based on the fact that ASD is a neurodevelopmental disorder, there have been multiple studies researching the neuroanatomical abnormalities found in ASD individuals. There have been a number of those abnormalities associated with ASD (Donovan Basson, 2017). In the most recent study, Donovan Basson, found the frontal cortex and the amygdala of an ASD individual s brain during the early postnatal period has a tendency to overgrow followed by normalization, or even decrease, in volume and cellularity, when compared to neurotypical individuals (2017). They described the function of the frontal cortex of the brain to be in charge of executive functions (e.g., higher order cognitive processing planning, decision making, working memory, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... From the results of the study, the investigators found that the participants with ASD showed lower correct response rates for recognizing affect via emotional words and facial emoticons. They also found that the part of the brain, called the fusiform gyrus, in the participants with ASD had a greater activation rate during emotional word tasks when compared to their typically developing peers. Interestingly, the investigators found that the fusiform gyrus of the participants with ASD had less of an activation response to facial emoticons when compared to their typically developing peers (Han et al., 2014). Studies have also shown that the difficulty that individuals with ASD have with the acquisition and understanding of humor is the effect of their deficits in theory of mind (ToM) (Semrud Clikeman Glass, 2008; Jaegher, 2013; Samson, 2013; Whyte, Nelson, Scherf, 2014; Wu et al., 2014). Theory of mind can be defined as the ability to understand and assign beliefs, traits, and emotions to oneself and others, in other words the ability to put oneself in another s shoes (Semrud Clikeman Glass, 2008; Samson, 2014; Wu et al., 2014). ToM is a complex linguistic ability (Wu et al., 2014). Emerich et al., found from their study that there was no specific sequence in the individuals with ASDs reasoning through the text of ... Eduard Wirths As A Doctor During World War II, death, experimentation, and being a Jewish person was a fear that all people had to worry about in Nazi Germany from 1939 to 1945; particularly in concentration camps. Eduard Wirths was both a hero and an anti hero towards his patients, depending on what stance a person takes. Wirths was known to have a sympathetic side to him that was a saving grace for many. However, the experimentation he allowed patients to suffer through in order to gain success for his own research is what makes him a criminal Nazi doctor. • 13. The True Maeaning of Invisiblity With the title that Ralph Ellison chose for this book one could easily conclude, without even reading it, that the text is science fiction and deals with the super natural. Upon actually reading it however it becomes painfully obvious that the main character of Invisible Man is quite visible indeed. Fictional or not, he is a regular human being made of flesh and bone, and he even says so in the first sentences of the book. So how can this black man possibly deem himself invisible? Perhaps this nameless protagonist cannot be blamed completely for this freak occurrence. Maybe the invisibility stems from a lack of sight of the people (mainly white) around him. Those people allow themselves to be blinded by the semitransparent veil of stereotypes and racism, causing them not to be able to see the protagonist/narrator for who he really is. With that being said, the narrator himself still has a part to play in this so called invisibility. Throughout the story the narrator s actions cause people to see him as someone he is not. It seems as though every time there is about to be a turning point in the narrator s life his good ambitions are tampered with by the cruel intentions of those around him. The genres of this work appear to be African American literature, satire, and in a sense it is a coming of age kind of story. As such, the story follows the narrator s life during the great migration/Harlem Renaissance era and has many different locations. It starts off in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Drugs administered through enteral routes undergo a first pass effect, which is the term used for the hepatic metabolism of a pharmacological agent when it is absorbed from the gut and delivered to the liver via the portal circulation. Until the middle of the 20thcentury we were unaware but slowly and gradually we began to understand the true nature of polymers. This understanding came with the development of plastics, which are materials truly mady by man that are the ultimate tribute to man s creativity and ingenuity. The use of polymeric materials has permeated in every facet of our lives. It is hard to visualize today s world with all its luxury and comfort without man made polymeric materials. Polymer materials in the form of solid plastics, fibers, elastomers, or foams. They may be hard or soft or may be films, coatings, or adhesives. They can be made porous or nonporous or can melt with heat or set with heat. The possibilities are almost endless and their applications are fascinating. Although plastic materials in general are thermally unstable, ablation of some organic polymers occurs at extremely high temperatures. Consequently, selected plastics are used to shield reentry vehicles from the severe heat generated by air friction and to protect rocket motor parts from hot exhaust gases, based on the concept known as ablation plastics. It isn t uncommon for someone with the possession of power to bend and change their morals to gain more power. Power used corruptly does not always have to be from someone like a king. Greed for power in itself can corrupt someone. Emotions of vengeance, envy, and lust can make a person in power corrupt too. Whether or not power has corrupted someone, their character determines how they use their power in the end. In Euripides play, Medea, Jason s greed for power corrupts him. During the beginning of Euripides play, Medea and Jason are two lovers that had just moved to Corinth, and together they had two children. Jason decides that he will try to marry king Creon s daughter Glauce to make him the heir of the kingdom. Jason allowed his moral compass to change for his search of power. I think was caught in a psychotic moment, his mental state was not all there, and he had a dream, he made a plan, and he committed this terrible crime. A good example of Raskolnikov being a kind hearted person, and selfless is when he sees a young girl at the end of the street, he sees by her a rough looking man staring at her. I awoke earlier than usual to spend quiet time, in the early morning light, in the hot tub, with God before I write and before I meditate. The initial moments of the day are somehow much richer in solitude and inspiration comes more succinctly than mid and late day moments. A plausible explanation may be: I am rested, and there s a lack of human made energy buzzing around me or it could simply be that my mind isn t buzzing because it s not yet fully awakened. When my mind is buzzing, my entire body follows suit. Perhaps, the buzzing racing mind is part of what separates me from God. The irony of being in my headspace is that the body is always in the present moment, connected to the earth. The breath can serve as a reminder; for when I focus my attention on inhaling and exhaling, my thoughts slow down, my mind stops buzzing about, and for brief, fleeting moments, I am fully in the present. Being fully present is where the mysteries of life dance, my intuition picks up on subtle energy, words and emotions of others float in. When I am present for others, I am transformed as if I am infused with and transferring love, compassion, hope, empathy, and kindness to others. After much public outcry we are now able rely more on today s law enforcement as they are placed under strict management and are regularly evaluated to ensure consistency and reduce bias from the system. In country music there is a strong Christian presence and although it didn t occur considerably in the songs I analyzed, it tends to be the only religion associated with country music. Religion Plays a key role in developing people s ideas about right and wrong (2015; 75). This sole reason can be a major influence in many country lyrics, as well as the culture of country music. Union Carbide s Bhopal Disaster Union Carbide s Bhopal Disaster In 1984, as if in a nightmare, a cloud of poison gas reached out and snuffed the lives of thousands of people in the sleeping city of Bhopal, India. The residents awoke to a terrible disaster, a chemical explosion whose memory could never be erased. At the center of the tragedy was the Union Carbide pesticide plant, and surrounding the accident were doubts and accusations of negligence and unethical practices. The Disaster On December 3, 1984, one of the world s worst chemical disasters occurred at the Union Carbide pesticide plant in Bhopal, India. Forty tons of vaporous methyl isocyanate (MIC) gas exploded, releasing a toxic mixture of MIC, hydrogen cyanide, monomethyl amine, carbon monoxide, and ... Author David Weir quoted a United Nations official who wished to remain anonymous when he said, Even those companies that say they will maintain the same standards as in the developed world find it difficult to resist the temptation to take a shortcut. Even if they have a good design for their plant, however, there s no good infrastructure in the underdeveloped countries. Even if they put it away from population centers, who will check and control that the people don t come in around it? (Newton Dillingham, 2002, p. 90). Had Union Carbide exercised more responsibility and ethics from the very beginning, perhaps the Bhopal disaster would have been avoided. Preventing Future Disasters The Bhopal accident served as a wake up call for the chemical industry (Lang, 1984, para. 23). In response, the Chemical Manufacturers Association created a program called Responsible Care®, the chemical industry s commitment to the continuous improvement of environmental, health, safety and security performance (Overview, 2004, para. 1). Jeff Lipton, chief executive of Nova Chemicals Corp stated, When the average person thinks about chemicals, they think about risks and hazards instead of benefits (Herrick, 2003, para. 9). • 42. Automatic Response To Stress Essay Psychological and physical well being and the overall quality of life are under a constant threat of stress and thus, psychological and medical sciences have long been concerned with studying stress response. Cox (1979) claimed that because of the poor understanding and defining it, the concept of stress tends to be rather elusive. The term, stress , commonly describes any physchological or physical alteration that deranges the organism s homeostasis (or balance). This essay reviews some of the biological factors involved in stress and it has been organized in the following way. The paper begins by briefly introducing the concept of stress. It will then go on to discus and describe the automatic response (fight or flight reaction), ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The trouble begins when multiple life incidents hit us all at once and this is because during periods of dramatic changes, individuals are more vulnerable to stress (Jones Bright, 2001). Therefore, stress has got the ability to activate pretty every system within the body, however, through a rather rudimentary mechanism which lies within the cellular level (Shreedhar et al., 2010). Humans experience similar dramatic physiological stress responses as other species. That is to say, the physique response to a stressor prepares the body for rapid physical action (fight or flight). More rarely, as Rudinger (1988) argue, sitting paralysed by fear may constitute another response to stress. The fight or flee stress response involve extremely rapid, virtually immediate, changes within the muscular systems and organs (Pinel, 2006). When the sense organs (of hearing or sight) receive the alarm signal they instantly pass it to the brain. Then the brain sends messages to the muscles and organs and therefore, muscles contract, often very abruptly. If the state of alertness is prolonged, muscle activity and tension remain high in order to prepare the body of reacting quickly to any subsequent stimuli. In a fight or flight situation, heart rate changes. Furthermore, there are a series of chain reactions. The first thing that happens is that the heart starts to beat faster in order to pump a copious supply of blood to the essential ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Human Experimentation Persuasive Essay Hi, I m Katie snow and I will be supporting why human experimentation is ethical. I d like to start off saying that society often forgets the contribution human experimentation has had in vaccines, medical treatment, psychiatry, and the military. For example Although Cancer has been incurable since the day of its diagnosis recent studies and acts of human experimentation we have discovered a breakthrough! In 2011 a little girl diagnosed with Cancer named Emily was given the opportunity to be one of the first patients to volunteer for human experimentation were doctors inject genetically modified HIV cells (T cells) into the bloodstream of the child. Within weeks of Emily s trial her cancer started going away and eventually was cured! The world is changing we do not live in any other time period but today in the present. We are educated civilized people with laws and governments! Others may argue that human experimentation in the past has been taken too far. For example in the early 1900s specifically 1930s the holocaust began. The holocaust as we all know was a devastating, heartbreaking, and cold time, but we also must remind ourselves that yet it was a sad and devastating piece of history it also was a breakthrough in science. During the time of the holocaust many Jews where experimented on and killed. Yet again this is horrifying but this has also given us a huge gigantic expansion of knowledge about the human body that still contributes to science ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

How To Stop Frisk Stop and frisk Essay I disagree that stop and frisk practices should be continued in the U.S.My reasons for this is it s making more crimes happen, it s racial profiling, and it s unconstitonial. Although some of the people who have been caught in a stop and frisk have had done illegal things, most of the people that got stopped were innocent. My first reason is it has just made more crimes happen. When Bloomberg became the mayor of New York, over 700,000 crimes had happened from 2000 to 2010 in New York. The NYPD killed Sean Bell a 23 year old unarmed black man in 2006.He was shot 50 times the night before his wedding. • 45. New York Schools Struggle With New Rules Essay The article, New York Schools Struggle With New Rules to Help Students Learning English, by Elizabeth A. Harris from the New York Times, documents the current struggle of New York state public school ESL programs to fully accommodate the immigrant students needs. Overall, the ESL program is not effective in helping second language students catch up in subjects taught in English. In addition, the supply and demand is heavily unbalanced. More immigrant students are enrolling in public schools yet there is a lack of trained ESL teachers available even if the school wanted to hire more or establish more ESL programs. Take Bengali, for example. It is the fourth most common language among pupils learning English in the city s public schools. But there are only three bilingual Bengali programs in the schools. The article points out several main problems the administration is facing. The first is the obvious low funding due to the insufficient attention given to ESL learning as part of the public school education. Ms. DeJesus, of the teachers union, said...almost every city school needed to hire one or two teachers, which would put the numbers required in the thousands. And the new rules came with very little in the way of resources $1 million for the entire state, which has left schools scrambling. In addition, there is a lack of qualified, well trained ESL teachers to hire even with enough funding. However, lack of ESL teachers doesn t just happen overnight. Different ... Why would someone choose a major that only focuses on conceptual ideas, and is not required in the job market unless it is for teaching the humanities? It seems like a never ending loop. An engineer can work in a company, on their own inventions, and even teach subjects related to their majors for instance. Brooks needed to see the matter from a realistic point of view, since the reason is, after all, economic in the first place. When he argues that a 19 years old freshman will see the humanities as a boring and useless major, he forgets or misses to mention, that people go to universities to prepare themselves for the job market. Theme of Love in Much Ado and Twelfth Night AS English Literature Unit 2 (Coursework) EXPLORATIVE STUDY Shakespeare s Twelfth Night is studied and his Much Ado About Nothing is used to explore the theme of love. Performances are referred to. Shakespeare s romantic comedies explore love, the divine passion , in all its moods and intensities. Most characters in these two plays are in love, find love or seek it. Twelfth Night, reputedly the most mature of Shakespeare s romantic comedies, weaves several such love stories into an intricate collage to explore different types of love and its easy descent into pain or folly. The Viola Orsino and Benedick Beatrice loves are comparable, since both are constant, clear eyed, and more based on a weathered and thorough understanding of each other than on mere physical attraction theirs is the marriage of true minds . Even true love could be silly though, as Kenneth Branagh, playing Benedick in his 1993 version, displays in his antics when bitten by the lovebug; Newsweek, in a 1993 review of this adaptation, aptly judged it as portraying the absolute absurdity and absurd absoluteness of love. In comparison, though Claudio is genuinely attracted to Hero, his love seems fickle, jealous and immature. Claudio, a sensible conventional wooer, first verifies Hero s social and financial compatibility ( Hath Leonato any son...? ), but their relationship lacks trust and instinctive understanding of each other. This is the reason Claudio believes Don John s intrigue, though Hero, being sweet and submissive, remains true to him regardless of his treatment of her. Their union therefore seems less sound than Beatrice and Benedick s and less acceptable to a modern audience, which is probably why, in the 2005 Shakespeare Retold version of Much Ado, Hero declines Claude s second offer. The past is used to form and reinforce group identities, and physical things are used as evidence of national identity, and powerful symbols of a civilization s impact on an area . The Babri mosque stood as a religious symbol of Muslim national identity, and for the Hindu community, a denial of their religious heritage. Since 1947, Hindus have tried to prove that the first Mughal emperor, Babur, destroyed a temple for their deity: Rama, and in its place built the mosque. In 1942, Hindu nationalists destroyed the Mosque, and the riots that broke out in India and Bangladesh contributed to over three thousand deaths. The destruction of the symbolic site was the Hindu nationalist s attempt to erase Muslim national identity from India, to assert control over the civilization they considered to be their subordinates. Excavatory efforts in 1990 unearthed sculptures that the Hindus believed to be of Rama. In 2003, upon court ordered excavation, evidence of a prior Hindu structure was unearthed, and in 2010 the court of India divided the site into three parts, the Hindus receiving two thirds of the site, and Muslims the rest.
