The Rock Towers On Her Property
Like the defendant in Moore, Herrera is entitled to summary judgment as a matter of law in this
action, because she could not have known or realized that the rock towers on her property would pose
an unreasonable risk of death or serious bodily injury to Maria. Herrera s private property is located in
a remote location in Arizona where she allows adults to view her land art by appointment only. It is
reasonably understandable that Herrera does not like uninvited or unwanted individuals on her
property at anytime. Moreover, since the land art was for adults only to view, she never allowed
children on her property to view her land art. As a result, no injuries were ever reported from the
adults who visited and viewed her land art. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Here, however, this argument ignores the fact that Herrera fulfilled her duty as a landowner to not
willfully or wantonly injure a trespasser, such as Maria. To the contrary, Herrera took appropriate
measures to ensure the safely of adults and children by enforcing restrictions to safeguard her guest
and the land art on her property.
Therefore, Herrera is entitled to summary judgment because she could not have known or realized that
the rock towers on her property would pose an unreasonable risk of death or serious bodily injury to
Maria.

To hold a landowner liable for physical harm to trespassing children, a plaintiff must prove that
children, because of their youth, do not discover or realize the risk involved in intermeddling with it or
in coming within the area made dangerous by it. Barnhizer v. Paradise Valley Unified Sch. Dist., 599

How Did Thomas Jefferson Shaped America
Thomas Jefferson, one of the best presidents America has ever had. Some people believe he was evil
for keeping slaves. But, even though he did that, he did more good than bad. He purchased the
Louisiana territory, greatly expanding America. Even before he was president he helped America, he
was the main author of the Declaration of Independence. Also after being president he helped by
founding the University of Virginia.
Thomas Jefferson was a main factor in the birth of America. If it had not been for him we would not
have had the same Declaration of Independence. Not to mention his persuasive voice while telling
people his thoughts and ideas. Even more important than that, if it were not for him there might be no
America. And this was all before people elected him as president. ... Show more content on

But, none were more important that the choice to buy the Louisiana Territory. It expanded America
and started our journey west. If he had not bought the territory, America might have never gone further
than the east coast. To think, he is the reason America is not only 13 little states.
And last but not least, after he was president. He did not stop trying to help America just because his
presidential term was over. He went on to found the University of Virginia. It may not sound
important now, but back then there were not many colleges. His founding the school gave many more
people and option to go to college and get an education. It may have been the most important post
presidency action in history.
Thomas Jefferson was one of the best president. He helped America as much as he possibly could.
And he did not let even time stop him. That is why, he is a great

Civic Engagement In The Community
Learning through Engaging in the Community Although the majority of my specific activities did not
involve working directly with the community, I quickly recognized that Fort York Food Bank shares
and reflects a strong sense of civic engagement. Since I had few opportunities to interact directly with
clients, at first I believed that my work did not represent civic participation. However, by
understanding what my work really meant to the organization, I started to see my experience in a
different way. In fact, I could recognize the actual significance of civic participation to the community,
especially to excluded groups that need support in their lives. As Lai and Hynie (2010) argue, civic
participation refers to any volunteer action that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Social capital refers to the relationships that promote mutual benefits and enable the effective function
of a community (Lai and Hynie, 2010). By integrating people from different social classes, FYFB
works as a central point where individuals can interact with other realities and work together.
Similarly, Putnam (1995) argues that civic engagement generates in the community a sense of
reciprocity and produces social trust between different social classes. For instance, by sorting
donations, I realized that donors find a way to collaborate with the promotion of FYFB s mission.
From large contributions by organizations like Second Harvest or Daily Bread to small donations by
particular retails, their actions affirm that working together and organized can led to a big success as
Fort York Food Bank represents to me. In fact, Charity Intelligence Canada (n.d.) states that FYFB has
been able to transform one dollar from donations to more than eight dollars in benefits to clients
through the active collaboration of different volunteer skills. Moreover, I realized the importance of
social capital for the organization as the good interaction between different kind of volunteers has
enable FYFB to continue to work. Despite the different backgrounds, levels of education, and
demography of the directors, steering committee, and operational

Essay On Gov. Bruce Rauner
On the campaign trail, Gov. Bruce Rauner assured voters he had no social agenda. So why is he now
considering expanding taxpayer funded abortion access in Illinois?
It was never any secret that Gov. Rauner and his wife, Diana, are longtime supporters of the abortions
rights lobby.
However, Gov. Rauner won the Republican primary and subsequent general election by convincing
anti abortion voters and principled Republicans that he was genuine in the statement he repeated over
and over during his campaign: He is focused on fixing Illinois myriad economic issues and has no
social agenda.
Anti abortion advocates are among the most dedicated voters, and many of them base their ballot box
decisions solely on whether a candidate is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Beyond supporting Rauner during his 2014 campaign, I also briefly worked in his administration this
summer. I learned firsthand during that time how strident the Rauners are in their support of abortion,
so I m not going to attempt here to prove to them how morally wrong it is. I won t try to convince
them that abortion is murder; that claiming to fight for women s rights is contrary to allowing millions
of them to be exterminated in utero; that science proves life begins at conception; that pre born
children are more than just clumps of cells. (Perhaps on this last item, the Rauners can refer to a recent
social media post by the Ounce of Prevention Fund, where Diana Rauner is president. A Sept. 18

you know babies taste buds begin developing at 8 weeks? Research suggests that what you eat during
your pregnancy impacts what your child eats as they grow up so time to start developing their taste for
veggies now! )
Since moral arguments will not resonate, I ll stick to the political and economic ones.
In April, the governor s office stated he did not support HB 40 due to the sharp divisions of opinion of
taxpayer funding of abortion. Rauner s initial assessment of the situation is correct, and he should
stick to it. Taxpayers on both sides of the

Security Analysis And It Security Policy Manager At My...
In writing this paper I spoke with Security Analysis and IT Security Policy Manager at my place of
employment when researching this paper. They gave me some insightful direction as to the
information, where to look for information and the important security issues to reference. Working in
IT for the last 10 years I have also had to deal with many of these policies first hand. Additionally, I
referenced the PowerPoints presented in class and The CISSP and CAP Prep Guide: Platinum Edition
that I purchased and used for the quiz in class.
When discussing the topic of information security there are many concepts, elements and topics to
discuss. Some of the information to be discussed here are the ten domains of Computer Information
Systems ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is a company that I made up just for name sake of this paper. This is not a comprehensive list
however will point out some of the more important points.
To begin with, any security professional must take in to account the three fundamentals of principles
of Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability (CIA) that set the security posture for an organizations
information security department. Integrity ensures that unauthorized alteration to information is not
made, alterations are not made by unauthorized personnel, and the information is reliable both
internally and externally. Confidentiality unauthorized release of information, regardless if the release
is internally or externally. Availability for the users to be able to access the data in a consistent and
timely manner that will add value to their job is also necessary.
The process and choice of classifying information is very important. Data of different types have
different values to the owner of the information. Some data may be of more value or critical
importance than other data. Certain information is therefore valuable, and if lost could cause great
financial loss.
Total Layer IT will classify its information using the terms Public, Sensitive, Private, and Confidential
based on the information s value, age, useful life, and personal association. Based upon the business
needs certain groups will have access to these various levels of information.

How Technology Has Become An Educational Tool
Technology has become an educational tool in schools and at home in the past ten years. There are a
variety of educational websites out there to support students from a young age as young as three and
up the age of college students. Web sites could be used in a classroom under the supervision of a
teacher or at home under the monitoring of a parent. Web sites at a young age could help teach a child
an essential skill and let them practice it that skill in an interactive way. Web sites in the younger
grades can contribute to making learning fun and interactive while teaching them how to use the
computer or an iPad properly. However, it is important for a teacher or parent to review a website first

However, most of the time children will be sitting at a desk or at the computer playing the game, so it
doesn t involve a lot of movement. When you first go on the website, it shows you bubbles with each
grade level on it. Then, within the grade, they organize the games in five categories. The five
categories are letters, numbers, holiday, strategy, and skills. All the games within these five categories
seem to have a direct relationship with the curriculum content while making learning fun. Also, all the
games give the students an opportunity to engage in a higher level of thinking and offer multiple
games for the same topic to allow children to pick which game is more comfortable for them to use.
Also, ABCya.com could be easily accessed by a teacher or students through the utilization of a
computer, iPad, tablet, or even cell phone, which is more accessible to them. ABCya.com also allows
the teacher to create a class on the website and the teacher could monitor what the class is learning and
playing and keep track of the students progress over a time period. Also, a teacher could use this
website as a whole class on the SMART Board or allow the students to work independently on a
laptop or iPad, or even break the students up into groups to work together to build teamwork skills.
However, there are some cons to this website. It is mostly aimed for students to work independently

Changes and Continuity in Western Europe Essay
During the period of 1492 to 1750, Europe experienced drastic changes during their Age of Discovery.
As a result of contact and colonization, Western Europe s economy, political, social, and military
systems changed, but also maintained certain aspects that enabled them to build strong civilizations.
Such changes include increased (international) trade routes, more centralized governments such as
monarchies, decreased unifying influence of the Catholic Church, and increased interest in military
conquest and expansion. In terms of the economy, industrialization and manufacturing drove the
economy forward, catalyzing change and developments that would contribute to the economy.

Parts of the European political systems that remained untouched included the feudal political forms
that remained strong, even with introduction of monarchies. Since European states thirsted for
expansion of their states, military remained a top priority in funding; therefore, the strong feudal forms
remained, although with shifted balance. Furthermore, ordinary people were not highly affected by the
political changes, because politics did not concern them; all they had to worry about was paying their
taxes as usual, and the general economic life was not altered. In terms of the social system and
structure, a main change that altered the social structure was commercialization, which created a new
social class, the proletariats, who suffered from poverty. Other notable social changes include the
emergence of a European style family, which emphasized the nuclear family structure, and intensified
links between family and individual property, and the decline of influence of the Catholic Church,
which cause a separation of peoples religious and daily lives. However, women maintained their low
statuses as inferiors to men, and have fewer alternatives when Protestants abolished convents. In
addition, although the Catholic Church lost its influence, the elite remained powerful and limited
cultural movements, mirroring that of the Dark Ages but to a lesser extent because of the
Enlightenment. Militarily, the main

The Assumption And Implication Of Good Faith Play
Introduction When one party receives a check and transfers it, is the transferee a holder in due course?
The response to this question is it depends on the facts and circumstances. The assumption and
implication of good faith play a role in determining a holder in due course. In our case, one party is
attempting to take advantage of the other through fraud and deceit. This paper explores who is a
holder in due course, the influence of fraud and deceit, the role of the stop payment, and who is
responsible when a situation goes wrong. Material Facts I agree with the court s decision because of

School Uniforms Mandatory Research
The topic of whether or not school uniforms should be allowed has always been highly debated. The
reason why it is such a hot topic is because it pertains to a student s individuality and the possible
benefits they may bring. This is something that has sparked a bit of friction in the education world.
Hours and hours of research have been poured into this subject in order to find a definitive answer. If
the research has proved anything, it is that school uniforms are ineffective and they restrict self
expression. Contrary to popular belief, school uniforms do not provide the benefits that many claim
they do. School uniforms simply don t work in the real world. Now some may feel inclined to disagree

Evolution Of Symphony Orchestra Essay
Trace the general historical evolution of the symphony orchestra from Haydn s time at the Esterhazy
court, to Stravinsky s Rite of Spring.
The symphony orchestra underwent considerable evolutions from the time of Haydn at the Esterhazy
court to the time of Stravinsky s Rite of Spring. The symphony orchestra during the classical era
consisted of fewer instruments and shorter pieces. Haydn, a composer of the romantic era, wrote his
compositions for small orchestras and other musical ensembles. Composing for wealthy patrons was
how musicians and composers made an income for themselves Due to these small and private
concerts, the orchestra s did not need to be very large. The term orchestra usually refers to a large
instrumental group, however, during the time of Haydn at the Esterhazy court, the smaller sized
orchestra, created the starting point for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Due to the French Revolution and other political events of the time, the middle class began to grow,
creating a large pool of patrons who could afford to attend a concerts, thus shifting the role of the
patron from a rich and important figure, to the general public. This changed the way music was
performed and additionally changed the way it was produced. Composers no longer had to compose
for their patrons parties or gatherings, they were granted a new freedom by composing under no other
guidelines than their own. Due to current events of that time, music became an outlet to both express
and convey the emotion of the brought on by theses events. The style became highly emotional, so
dynamics and sound became essential to the symphony. Thus the symphony began to grow,
improvements to instruments such as brass, with the invention of valves, and improvements to the
keys structure of the winds. Along with these changes, an increase of percussive instruments occurred,
lending to large dynamic leaps and tempo

The Interplay Between Human Laws And Divine Law In...
Sophocles Antigone focuses on the interplay between human laws and divine laws. Although the
divines do not directly appear in the play, their rules strongly affect characters behaviors. Although the
actions of the characters as well as the conclusion of the play demonstrate deities superior status to
humans, the divine is unable to assume certain roles in the human world. The play s first stasimon,
also known as the Ode to Man , is one of the most obvious clues that the divine is superior to humans.
The stasimon describes the wondrous power of human beings while stresses that only if we honor the
laws and the oath bound justice of the gods (370), can we be successful. In the case of human refusing
to respect the gods, our special status would fall. The play starts with Antigone, late king Oedipus s
daughter, agonizing to her sister Ismene over the death of her brothers Polynices and Eteocles, who
die over a bloody conflict over Oedipus succession. In her agony, Antigone describes the bloody civil
war as the final penalty to Zeus for Oedipus (3). Zeus, according to Antigone, is the master behind
Oedipus s downfall and the plague against her family. Since Eteocles was the ruler of the city, and
Polynices rebelled, Creon, the new king, decrees that no one shall bury Polynices. Creon justifies his
decisions based on the chorus s statement that chance and the gods make him king (157) as well as the
consideration that the decision would bring stability. Creon also claims that as long as he remains
reverent to Zeus (304), his words will carry absolute authority. Loving her brother, Antigone, however,
decides to go against Creon s decree and bury her brother. She calls not burying Polynices an insult to
what the gods believe everyone deserves a proper burial. Soon, a watchman captures Antigone and
brings her in front of Creon for questioning (432 440). Antigone justifies her argument against Creon s
decree by arguing that Polynices deserves a proper burial like anyone else does since it was the
intention of Hades, the god of the underworld. She believes Creon, a human being, cannot make laws
with enough power to trample the gods unfailing, unwritten laws (456 457). Antigone s argument

Comparing Jack And Ralph In Lord Of The Flies By William...
In Lord of the Flies by William Golding, the two main characters shine through the novel, Jack and
Ralph. I chose these characters because they are easily contrastable, but also have a few similarities.
They also have striking strengths and weaknesses in their character. Likewise, Jack and Ralph both
have leadership qualities. They are also some of the most real characters in the novel in my opinion.
However, Jack is very selfish, while Ralph cares for the survival of all on the island. To begin, both of
them have strengths and weaknesses. As for Ralph s strengths, he has great leadership qualities as

Jack is very arrogant, and is used to being in charge. This is seen on page 19, I ought to be cheif, said

Jack is very entitled and expects to be the chief, even though his qualifications weren t exactly fitting
for this kind of leadership. Also, Jack is very selfish, this is seen on page 199, The cheif led them,
trotting steadily, exulting in his achievement. He was a chief now in truth; and he made stabbing
motions wth his spear. From his left hand dangled Piggy s broken glasses. (pg. 199). Jack had no
regard for the fact that Piggy can t see without his glasses, and he only cared about getting fire for
himself and those who follow him. He could of just asked the other tribe for some of their fire, but
instead he stole something essential to Piggy for his own, personal, selfish gain. Next, Jack does have
some strengths to his character. Earlier on in the book he has common sense, and knows when to
respect the common votes of the other boys on the island. This is seen on page 20, Even the choir
appaulded; and the freckles on Jack s face disappeared under a blush of mortifcation. He started up,
then changed his mind and sat down again while the air rang. (pg. 20). Also, Jack knew how to

Privacy In Workplace
Telephone Usage (Lauren Sanders)
Telephone usage is a part of the technology that can affect the privacy in the workplace. The call
feature on telephones can cause privacy issues. Although it is illegal for anyone to listen or record
regular phone calls, the Electronic Communications Privacy Act excludes commonplace business calls
(Maltby, 2013). This means the employer can record or listen phone calls made about business.
Sometimes employers make employees sign forms to consent to phone calls being monitored. Another
exception to this act is if the employee has consented to be monitored (Mika, 2012).
There are limits to the Electronic Communications Privacy Act (Maltby, 2013). A business is supposed
to stop listening and hang up when the phone call becomes personal (Maltby, 2013). This cannot be
monitored to know if the business is actually following this protocol. Also, the courts rule mainly in
the favor of the employer with the Electronic Communications Privacy Act (Mika, 2012). Privacy
issues with phones do not just stop with calls.
Another issue surrounding privacy and phone usage deals with devices given to employer. Sometimes
employers give employees devices to use for the business. These devices may be able to do a variety
of different functions. Often times these devices can do more than the ... Show more content on

Analysis Of The Poem Khan s Kubla Khan
Kublai Khan ruled the Mongol Empire for 34 years and founded the Yuan dynasty. He started a civil
war with his own brother for the throne and went on to rule as the first Yuan emperor. Samuel Taylor
Coleridge describes Kubla Khan as a powerful being who has thought about war. Given the
similarities between the two, you may think they are based on each other. If this was the case why is
no date given to make a connection, perhaps to deepen the mystery. The impact of time in Kubla Khan
is confusing; because we do not know which time period we are in. We could be in the past with
Kublai Khan, present with Coleridge, or is it a vision of the future. Coleridge wrote the poem after
consuming a large amount of opium and reading of Xanadu, the palace of Kublai Khan. His romantic
view of life and nature are show cased in his use and choice of words, and in the depth of his
descriptive vocabulary. Examples of this are the domed structure, with places of both light and
darkness, both holy and savage, symbolically describing a decadent royal court with a dual nature. He
describes a maid of Abyssinia playing a dulcimer, which I have only seen at the renaissance festival, a
haunting and strange musical instrument, singing of mount Abora. Mount Abora hints at a mystical
connection between this poem and the ancient Garden of Eden, which suggest this is a kind of
paradise. Ancient Abyssinia (Ethiopia) is suspected of being the resting place of the Ark

Slavery Vs Indentured Servants Essay
Slavery and Indentured servitude were vital to the success of the British colonies in several different
ways. The difference between slaves and servants is that slaves were owed for life or until their master
decided to let them leave or they died. Indentured servants were granted freedom, safe passage to the
country and land ownership after working the length of their contract, as previously agreed upon. One
of the main reasons slaves and indentured servants were so vital to the British colonies is that they
were cheap and effective labor. They were able to work in the fields planting, fertilizing, watering and
picking the crop when it was ready to be harvested for consumption or profit. Due to the fast harvests,
the Americans were able to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1705 there were not many indentures servants anymore. The British colonies started hiring slaves
due to the fact that they were owned for life and they didn t have to be let go due to their contracts
expiring. Slaves also had less rights than indentured servants due to the changes in the slave laws. The
Americans justified enslaving Africans in several ways. The Americans thought less of them; that they
weren t even human but personal property to do with as they pleased. These views all came in to
account due to their skin color being darker. The American s thought they were evil since they were so
dark complected. That they were stupid and couldn t make their own way in the world. They would
make them work long hours in horrible conditions such as out in field all day in the hot sun without
breaks. Their living conditions were horrible, they weren t allowed medical care and were not fed on a
consistent basis. They were beaten, killed and many of the women were sexually abused by their
masters. Many of the slaves died due to malnourishment and disease. The American colonists justified
their actions by viewing that they were taking care of them by providing food, shelter and a means to
live by. That without them they would still be in Africa starving, homeless and

Medicine In Muslim World Essay
Medicine in the Muslim World and the Americas, 700 1500
Medicine was an important part of the Muslim world; both rich and poor people were interested in
health and diseases. In fact, one of the greatest contributions to the Muslim world to modern medicine
is the preservation of many of the original works of philosophers, poets and physicians. Subsequently,
Muslim doctor and scholars wrote about health and developed an extensive complex medical
literature. Unlike medical literature today, which is specialized, but in the medieval world
amalgamated amongst natural science, astrology, alchemy, religion, philosophy and mathematics are
medical literature (Nordqvist, 2012).

For example, the Aztec believed that sickness was a divine act of the gods, and when the sickness fell

The Education Of The United States And China
Modifying Education in the United States and China
Perhaps there is nothing more imperative to the success of a nation today than the education of its
people; developed education leads to innovation, an improved economy, and, possibly most
importantly, a confidence from society about government. The rise of every great nation has been
preceded by advancing education. Although education has been mostly examined from the perspective
of higher education in the past, this lens fails to provide an adequate picture of the average citizen.
Students now attend higher education at larger percentages than they did 50 years ago; nevertheless,
the only mandatory education that a citizen receives is as a minor, under the age of 18. Developed

Nonetheless, China s leaders have done a magnificent job, particularly in the last 10 years, of
changing international perception about their international goals and their trustworthiness. More
people around the world have a positive image of China now than they have had in the past 50 years.
The United States, on the other hand, has seen a decrease in their global status since the 1980 s.
Although it remains a Superpower, more and more American citizens believe that their days as a
hegemon are behind them and that their leadership on the world stage is diminishing. This dying belief
in American exceptionalism is a problem for the US. In order to achieve many of its domestic and
international goals, a democratic government needs the support of its people, and if the people decide
they are no longer capable of, or interested in, being the world leader, their position at the top is
unsustainable. In the future, this waning attitude of exceptionalism is likely to change the way that
America interacts with both its allies and its adversaries.
Despite their differences in language and culture, China and the United States actually have many
striking similarities, one of them being that they are two of the most populated countries in the world.
Although the population of China is more than threefold that of the US, both countries understand the
struggle of protecting and providing for an enormous

Cultivating Your Emotional Intelligence Essay example
This paper is based off my response to a fictional scenario. In this scenario, I am a struggling writer
who has placed third in a writing contest held by the university I attend, and my fellow classmate in
this scenario won the grand prize (Module 3 Lecture Pages, n.d.). However, I believe my classmate
won the contest because he plagiarized one of my previously published stories, and now I have to face
him at the awards ceremony (Module 3 Lecture Pages, n.d.). How I react to this fictional scenario, is
based on the varying levels of emotional intelligence, and whether or not my level of emotional
intelligence played a role in my reaction (Module 3 Lecture Pages, n.d.). In addition, this paper will
discuss the different levels of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I would then let the university handle the matter in whichever way they see fit, while I try to keep my
emotions under control and respect the decision of the university. As for when I see my fellow
classmate, I would remain cordial and congratulate him on winning the contest. I probably would ask
him where he got his story line from, as well as whether or not he has ever read my story I had
published. I would confront him about my suspicion I have concerning the story line; most likely he
would deny any plagiarism accusations that I or the university made against him. If he told me he didn
t steal my story line, then I would be the bigger person and tell him we should put our differences
aside (agree to disagree), so that the conversation will not escalade into more of an argument.
Differing levels of emotional intelligence The emotional intelligence level an individual has plays a
significant role in how he/ she will react to any given situation (Kinicki Kreitner, 2009). I believe an
individual with a low or immature level of emotional intelligence would act in a negative or disruptive
manner when handling a problematic situation; allowing their emotions to get the best of them
(Kinicki Kreitner). For instance, in the above scenario, someone with a low level of emotional
intelligence may have called their classmate right when they found out and

Essay On Homelessness In The United States
Homelessness in the United States
During the 1980 s the number of homeless people, those without a house in which to reside, increased
at an alarming rate. Many analysts have given much time and thought as to the reasons that this
phenomenon occurred. They cite economic instability and government policies with facts and figures
to support their work. Beyond the research and cold statistics that explain this event, are the victims,
and those that worked to help relieve their hardship. An interview with Philip Guerrieri gives us
insight into the personal lives of these individuals whom he calls houseless, and the realities of staying
alive, both physically and spiritually, on the streets.

Philip shares with me his personal experiences working with the individuals who found themselves
living on the streets during the years of 1986 1996. He explains why eventually he dealt solely with
those individuals who would not go in to the missions and shelters or even accept food from the
mobile soup wagons. Philip relives the moment that he first realized that houseless people were not in
their current situation because of a life misled or because they were lazy or criminal, as may be the

Examples Of Being Extrovert Essay
I am not famous, I am extroverted My friends in school think that I am just a normal with no life at all.
However, outside of school, I have a whole different kind of personality which is being extroverted. I
disagree with my friends in school that I have no life and have not many friends. In my friends
perspective, being extroverted means being very famous and is the kind of person who stands out from
the rest, but for me, it just means that I can relate to other people by having a kind heart and an open
mind. The word extrovert came from the Latin word extro meaning extra and vertere meaning turn.
Having said this, the real meaning of the word is if the person has an attitude of being friendly,
sociable, and talkative. However, people who are extroverted have a different approach of the
meaning. These people think that people should be famous to be extroverted. Being famous leads to
having more friends. Having more friends means they have more social life and they feel that they

managerial skill such as conceptual, interpersonal, and technical

experts keeping out staff from having to take time and money to fix problems with the system. On the
other hand external benchmarking can cause problems within the organization. When outsourcing
clauses are made within the IT contract; Clients can use third parties to give comparisons between the

In his essay, Only Connect..., Cronon lists characteristics of a liberally educated person. These

people directly align with skills desired by employers. People with these traits have the skills
necessary to succeed in practical situations, like those encountered in the workforce. This essay helped
me understand that by providing a liberal arts education, the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh is also
providing students with skills needed to succeed in their future careers. Through examining the
structure of a four year education at the University and consulting the perspectives of a UW Oshkosh
professor and an outside professor, I came to understand that the University integrates career
preparation with liberal arts education throughout because a well executed liberal arts education will
provide proper career preparation. At their core, liberal arts and workforce development have very

Aluminum Vs Zinc
Table 1 contains corresponding information to figure 1, as already analyzed, despite having the
highest concentrated acid solution, zinc has the lowest output of gas compared to aluminum and
magnesium. Looking at the trends, aluminum and magnesium have relatively steady increases of mass
and corresponding volume (the amount of gas about doubles as the mass is increased by about 0.02
grams). Zinc, on the other hand, increases by almost triple when the mass is tripled, but levels off after
and slowly increases in gas production, but is nowhere near magnesium and aluminum. Magnesium
and aluminum are much more reactive than zinc in this reaction; the reactivity of both metals can be
deducted from their chemical properties on the periodic table;

the Persian rule that had taken over around two centuries before Alexander s rescue. He was crowned
the pharaoh of Egypt and blessed as the son of Amun. Architects had no chalk for making the lines of

In 323 B.C. Alexander died, he was possibly poisoned or ill; subsequently he never saw Alexandria

Building Ventilation Systems
Ventilations Systems Introduction Millions of Americans work in buildings with mechanical heating,
ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems which have been designed to provide air at
comfortable levels of temperature and humidity. Most never worry about harmful concentrations of air
pollutants that may exist in the air they breathe. While heating and cooling are basic operations, the
more complex processes involved in ventilation are paramount in ensuring high quality indoor air.
Ventilation is much more than air flowing throughout a building. Most ventilation systems introduce
outdoor air, condition it by mingling it with portions of indoor air and then distributing the resulting
combined air throughout the building, usually dispelling small portion outside of the building
structure. If any part of the process is inadequate or faulty, the quality of indoor air may be
jeopardized and can result in harmful toxins or pollutants circulating in enclosed spaces where they
can pose health risks. Ventilation, either natural or mechanical, is an effective approach to providing
acceptable indoor air. General ventilation of a building is needed to satisfy the respiratory needs of its
occupants and to remove any body odors and tobacco smoke, should smoking be permitted. On a
more serious level, systems that are improperly operated or maintained have been known to contribute
to sick building syndrome (SBS); SBS has physical symptoms without clearly recognizable causes.

In Quebec, the wine sector is based primarily on value added bottling and blending from imported
bulk wines. Thirty five small grower/estate wineries have also recently emerged in this province,
producing 100,000 bottles annually.
In the Maritimes, six small enterprises account for 13.5% of wine volume, while the two largest
companies in Canada produce the bulk of wine in that region.
The wine industry in Ontario and BC is closely linked to the grape growing sector and, as such, is
directly affected by provincial agricultural policies. In Ontario, the vintners negotiate annually with
the grape growers represented by their marketing board to establish grape prices. In BC, the grape
market is not regulated and growers and wineries contract privately with each other.
Wineries will normally take about 80% of the annual grape production, with much of the balance
going for juice or fresh fruit consumption. Annual grape purchases by wineries in Ontario and BC are
estimated at $75 million.
The industry is closely regulated (see Regulatory Factors section below). Wines, like other alcoholic
beverages, must be distributed and sold through provincial liquor control board outlets. Some
provinces permit wineries to sell their own wines in establishments which they operate. In Quebec,
wine sold in grocery stores must be bottled in the province.

  • 2. The Rock Towers On Her Property Like the defendant in Moore, Herrera is entitled to summary judgment as a matter of law in this action, because she could not have known or realized that the rock towers on her property would pose an unreasonable risk of death or serious bodily injury to Maria. Herrera s private property is located in a remote location in Arizona where she allows adults to view her land art by appointment only. It is reasonably understandable that Herrera does not like uninvited or unwanted individuals on her property at anytime. Moreover, since the land art was for adults only to view, she never allowed children on her property to view her land art. As a result, no injuries were ever reported from the adults who visited and viewed her land art. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Here, however, this argument ignores the fact that Herrera fulfilled her duty as a landowner to not willfully or wantonly injure a trespasser, such as Maria. To the contrary, Herrera took appropriate measures to ensure the safely of adults and children by enforcing restrictions to safeguard her guest and the land art on her property. Therefore, Herrera is entitled to summary judgment because she could not have known or realized that the rock towers on her property would pose an unreasonable risk of death or serious bodily injury to Maria. II. HERRERA S MOTION FOR SUMMARY JUDGEMENT SHOULD BE GRANTED BECAUSE MARIA WAS OF AGE AND EXPERIENCE TO APPRECIATE THE CLEAR DANGER OF FALLING ON THE ROCKS, GIVEN THAT SHE WAS 11 YEARS OLD AND REALIZED THE DANGER OF FALLING BEFORE SHE FELL BUT CHOSE TO CONSCIENTIOUSLY DISREGARD THAT DANGER. To hold a landowner liable for physical harm to trespassing children, a plaintiff must prove that children, because of their youth, do not discover or realize the risk involved in intermeddling with it or in coming within the area made dangerous by it. But, even though he did that, he did more good than bad. He purchased the Louisiana territory, greatly expanding America. Even before he was president he helped America, he was the main author of the Declaration of Independence. Also after being president he helped by founding the University of Virginia. Thomas Jefferson was a main factor in the birth of America. If it had not been for him we would not have had the same Declaration of Independence. Civic Engagement In The Community Learning through Engaging in the Community Although the majority of my specific activities did not involve working directly with the community, I quickly recognized that Fort York Food Bank shares and reflects a strong sense of civic engagement. Since I had few opportunities to interact directly with clients, at first I believed that my work did not represent civic participation. However, by understanding what my work really meant to the organization, I started to see my experience in a different way. In fact, I could recognize the actual significance of civic participation to the community, especially to excluded groups that need support in their lives. Social capital refers to the relationships that promote mutual benefits and enable the effective function of a community (Lai and Hynie, 2010). By integrating people from different social classes, FYFB works as a central point where individuals can interact with other realities and work together. Similarly, Putnam (1995) argues that civic engagement generates in the community a sense of reciprocity and produces social trust between different social classes. For instance, by sorting donations, I realized that donors find a way to collaborate with the promotion of FYFB s mission. From large contributions by organizations like Second Harvest or Daily Bread to small donations by particular retails, their actions affirm that working together and organized can led to a big success as Fort York Food Bank represents to me. In fact, Charity Intelligence Canada (n.d.) states that FYFB has been able to transform one dollar from donations to more than eight dollars in benefits to clients through the active collaboration of different volunteer skills. It was never any secret that Gov. Rauner and his wife, Diana, are longtime supporters of the abortions rights lobby. However, Gov. Rauner won the Republican primary and subsequent general election by convincing anti abortion voters and principled Republicans that he was genuine in the statement he repeated over and over during his campaign: He is focused on fixing Illinois myriad economic issues and has no social agenda. Beyond supporting Rauner during his 2014 campaign, I also briefly worked in his administration this summer. I learned firsthand during that time how strident the Rauners are in their support of abortion, so I m not going to attempt here to prove to them how morally wrong it is. I won t try to convince them that abortion is murder; that claiming to fight for women s rights is contrary to allowing millions of them to be exterminated in utero; that science proves life begins at conception; that pre born children are more than just clumps of cells. (Perhaps on this last item, the Rauners can refer to a recent social media post by the Ounce of Prevention Fund, where Diana Rauner is president. The symphony orchestra underwent considerable evolutions from the time of Haydn at the Esterhazy court to the time of Stravinsky s Rite of Spring. The symphony orchestra during the classical era consisted of fewer instruments and shorter pieces. Haydn, a composer of the romantic era, wrote his compositions for small orchestras and other musical ensembles. Composing for wealthy patrons was how musicians and composers made an income for themselves Due to these small and private concerts, the orchestra s did not need to be very large. • 12. The Interplay Between Human Laws And Divine Law In... Sophocles Antigone focuses on the interplay between human laws and divine laws. Although the divines do not directly appear in the play, their rules strongly affect characters behaviors. Although the actions of the characters as well as the conclusion of the play demonstrate deities superior status to humans, the divine is unable to assume certain roles in the human world. The play s first stasimon, also known as the Ode to Man , is one of the most obvious clues that the divine is superior to humans. The stasimon describes the wondrous power of human beings while stresses that only if we honor the laws and the oath bound justice of the gods (370), can we be successful. In the case of human refusing to respect the gods, our special status would fall. The play starts with Antigone, late king Oedipus s daughter, agonizing to her sister Ismene over the death of her brothers Polynices and Eteocles, who die over a bloody conflict over Oedipus succession. In her agony, Antigone describes the bloody civil war as the final penalty to Zeus for Oedipus (3). Zeus, according to Antigone, is the master behind Oedipus s downfall and the plague against her family. Since Eteocles was the ruler of the city, and Polynices rebelled, Creon, the new king, decrees that no one shall bury Polynices. Creon justifies his decisions based on the chorus s statement that chance and the gods make him king (157) as well as the consideration that the decision would bring stability. Creon also claims that as long as he remains reverent to Zeus (304), his words will carry absolute authority. Loving her brother, Antigone, however, decides to go against Creon s decree and bury her brother. She calls not burying Polynices an insult to what the gods believe everyone deserves a proper burial. Soon, a watchman captures Antigone and brings her in front of Creon for questioning (432 440). Antigone justifies her argument against Creon s decree by arguing that Polynices deserves a proper burial like anyone else does since it was the intention of Hades, the god of the underworld. She believes Creon, a human being, cannot make laws with enough power to trample the gods unfailing, unwritten laws (456 457). Antigone s argument leaves ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The call feature on telephones can cause privacy issues. Although it is illegal for anyone to listen or record regular phone calls, the Electronic Communications Privacy Act excludes commonplace business calls (Maltby, 2013). This means the employer can record or listen phone calls made about business. Sometimes employers make employees sign forms to consent to phone calls being monitored. Another exception to this act is if the employee has consented to be monitored (Mika, 2012). There are limits to the Electronic Communications Privacy Act (Maltby, 2013). A business is supposed to stop listening and hang up when the phone call becomes personal (Maltby, 2013). This cannot be monitored to know if the business is actually following this protocol. Also, the courts rule mainly in the favor of the employer with the Electronic Communications Privacy Act (Mika, 2012). Privacy issues with phones do not just stop with calls. He started a civil war with his own brother for the throne and went on to rule as the first Yuan emperor. Samuel Taylor Coleridge describes Kubla Khan as a powerful being who has thought about war. Given the similarities between the two, you may think they are based on each other. If this was the case why is no date given to make a connection, perhaps to deepen the mystery. The impact of time in Kubla Khan is confusing; because we do not know which time period we are in. We could be in the past with Kublai Khan, present with Coleridge, or is it a vision of the future. Coleridge wrote the poem after consuming a large amount of opium and reading of Xanadu, the palace of Kublai Khan. His romantic view of life and nature are show cased in his use and choice of words, and in the depth of his descriptive vocabulary. Examples of this are the domed structure, with places of both light and darkness, both holy and savage, symbolically describing a decadent royal court with a dual nature. He describes a maid of Abyssinia playing a dulcimer, which I have only seen at the renaissance festival, a haunting and strange musical instrument, singing of mount Abora. Mount Abora hints at a mystical connection between this poem and the ancient Garden of Eden, which suggest this is a kind of paradise. The difference between slaves and servants is that slaves were owed for life or until their master decided to let them leave or they died. Indentured servants were granted freedom, safe passage to the country and land ownership after working the length of their contract, as previously agreed upon. One of the main reasons slaves and indentured servants were so vital to the British colonies is that they were cheap and effective labor. The Americans thought less of them; that they weren t even human but personal property to do with as they pleased. These views all came in to account due to their skin color being darker. The Education Of The United States And China Modifying Education in the United States and China Perhaps there is nothing more imperative to the success of a nation today than the education of its people; developed education leads to innovation, an improved economy, and, possibly most importantly, a confidence from society about government. The rise of every great nation has been preceded by advancing education. Although education has been mostly examined from the perspective of higher education in the past, this lens fails to provide an adequate picture of the average citizen. The United States, on the other hand, has seen a decrease in their global status since the 1980 s. Although it remains a Superpower, more and more American citizens believe that their days as a hegemon are behind them and that their leadership on the world stage is diminishing. This dying belief in American exceptionalism is a problem for the US. In order to achieve many of its domestic and international goals, a democratic government needs the support of its people, and if the people decide they are no longer capable of, or interested in, being the world leader, their position at the top is unsustainable. • 31. Building Ventilation Systems Ventilations Systems Introduction Millions of Americans work in buildings with mechanical heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems which have been designed to provide air at comfortable levels of temperature and humidity. Most never worry about harmful concentrations of air pollutants that may exist in the air they breathe. While heating and cooling are basic operations, the more complex processes involved in ventilation are paramount in ensuring high quality indoor air. Ventilation is much more than air flowing throughout a building. Most ventilation systems introduce outdoor air, condition it by mingling it with portions of indoor air and then distributing the resulting combined air throughout the building, usually dispelling small portion outside of the building structure. If any part of the process is inadequate or faulty, the quality of indoor air may be jeopardized and can result in harmful toxins or pollutants circulating in enclosed spaces where they can pose health risks. Ventilation, either natural or mechanical, is an effective approach to providing acceptable indoor air. General ventilation of a building is needed to satisfy the respiratory needs of its occupants and to remove any body odors and tobacco smoke, should smoking be permitted. On a more serious level, systems that are improperly operated or maintained have been known to contribute to sick building syndrome (SBS); SBS has physical symptoms without clearly recognizable causes. ...
