Crisis Episodes
This study done by Oliver Robinson and Gordon Wright (2013) focuses on the crises experienced in
early and middle adulthood and its correlation with prevalence, type of crisis experienced, and how an
individual perceives them retrospectively. To explain this, in the article the authors explain the
definitions of autobiographical memory and crisis episodes. Autobiographical memory meaning the
memories a person has about their past that makes up their personal and individual story (Robinson
Wright, 2013). While a crisis episode, for the sake of Robinson and Wright s (2013) study, is described
as a past period of life that is characterized by difficulty, stress and negative emotion, and which is in
retrospective viewed as a turning point...in the life story. Robinson and Wright (2013) then use these
terms in their article to explain that their study, overall, would focus on participant s using a ... Show

The measures used were the adult crisis episodes retrospective self assessment tool, a self report tool
that was based on other retrospective assessment techniques and the Toronto empathy questionnaire.
In the first measurement tool the participants were asked questions regarding occurrence and timing of
crises, types of crisis events, and perceived post crisis growth (Robinson Wright, 2013). Both scales
used a 5 point likert scale. In order to gather the 1,023 participants in the study the authors used online
platforms such as being featured in a blog and an online newsletter, advertising, and being included in
an online site for an adult education college as well as hand delivering letters that included a summary
of what the study would consist of different neighborhoods in London (Robinson Wright,

within an industry. In effect, an empirical classification system is proposed with the principle strengths
that such classification allows the comprehensive inclusion of a range of available characters,
therefore the overall similarity of members within groups is broadly based.15 This empiricist
approach has a number of characteristics which may prove particularly beneficial to pharmaceutical
industry strategists because it provides a means to discern and analyse a pattern within an industry
regarded by some as data rich but information poor. The following principles underpin such an
approach.16 1 2 A priori each variable is of equal weight in creating natural groups. Overall similarity
between any two firms is a function of their individual similarities in each of the characters by which
they are being compared. Distinct groups may be recognised because the correlation of characters will
differ between groups. In effect, each natural strategic group should demonstrate a different pattern of
resource commitments. Classifications are based upon similarity. 3 4 Porter (1980)14 proposes 13
strategic dimensions that together should capture the possible

Halothane Case Study
This paper briefly touches on a case study by a nursing assistant student who is assisting with an
anesthesiologist that she is shadowing. The student was asked to monitor vitals during a knee surgery.
The patient was given Halothane and the surgery began. After two hours in surgery, the patient, who
was a young athletic female named Sharon Riley, began to show signs of distress. This patient s
temperature elevated to 105 °F and pulse began to rise up to 120 bpm, and her blood pressure began to
drop down to 60/56 mmHg. This triggers the monitors alarm because normal vitals for this patient
were a temperature of 98.6 °F, 75 bpm pulse and blood pressure of 105/60 mmHg. This causes the
doctors to react quickly and begin to assess what is wrong ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Describe the pathophysiology. It is possible that the Halothane triggered a genetically predisposed
condition called Malignant hyperthermia (MH) in the patient Sharon who was having surgery on her
knee. Sharon presented with symptoms 2 hours after administration of inhaled Halothane. She had a
temperature that elevated to 105 degrees, increased heart rate of 120 bpm and low blood pressure of
60/56. All of these symptoms are abnormal for this patient but can be signs of the condition MH. This
condition can be triggered by exposure to volatile inhaled anesthesia drugs like Halothane and signs
can be seen during surgery or shortly after surgery (library book, pg510). MH alters the calcium
channel in the sarcoplasmic reticulum (SR) and this allows large quantity of calcium to be released
from the SR creating hyper action in skeletal muscle; this reaction increases oxygen consumption and
increased heat production that ultimately leads to a hypermetabolic state after the inhaled Halothane
has triggered the condition (Knies). The continuous elevation of calcium also causes excessive
stimulation of anaerobic glycolytic metabolism. This creates respiratory and metabolic acidosis,
rigidity (muscle contractions), and hyperkalemia (elevated potassium) and can ultimately lead to death

Essay on Cannery Row
John Steinbeck s Cannery Row shows how people living there dealt with the hardships brought by the
Great Depression. Steinbeck set his novel in the 1930 s in Cannery Row, California. The canneries are
an integral part of the fish industry and Steinbeck makes the ailing American economy a critical part
of everyone s lives in his novel. He show how different characters, with different points of view with

A cannery is the place where food gets canned to be later sent to food stores or markets. Marine
biology plays a part in the fish industry because the fish and other sea creatures must be captured first
as they enter the food canning process. The first cannery built was the canning of salmon in Monterey,

plot. A couple of key situations do provide indirect characterization and highlight the hardships people
suffered during the depression.
A corpse is found by Doc and it reminds him of his deceased love, bringing back painful memories
This shows the negative side of the world and society s cruelties. Doc is handling of the situation

Hazel because in his family the name was considered lucky with regard to wealth. This underscores
how interested everyone was in increasing wealth.
Cannery Row also includes realistic details that give readers a good seuse of what daily life was like
during the Great Depression. Frog collecting was a profit making activity, with each frog five cents. A
nickel was not to be ignored at that time in our history although today one hardly bothers to pick them
up off the sidewalk. The first satisfactory car, the Model T, is noted to be a fine vehicle even though it
broke down, forcing the driver and passengers to camp out. Today, cars are much more reliable and
advanced and have many unnecessary features that the Model T did not have.

Hannibal And The Second Punic War Essay
Hannibal and the Second Punic War
Hannibal Barca, lived around 247 182 B.C. As the son of Hamlicar Barca, the general of the Carthage
army, and empire builder during the first Punic war, Hannibal was trained and mentored by his father.
Hannibal was considered to be one of the world s greatest military strategists. This great strategist at
twenty five years of age was the general of the Carthaginian Empire that reached across the northern
tip of Africa. His career as the top military leader of Carthage began at the beginning of the second
Punic war where Carthage fought against the Roman republic.
The second Punic war was between 218 202 B.C. It started when Carthage attacked Spanish

Even with his fast cavalry and strong infantry Hannibal knew that he did not have resources like
Rome. In fact, he was always outnumbered in every battle. Yet despite of being outnumbered, his
strategies helped the Carthaginians win most of the battles in the second Punic war. For example, in
the battle of Lake Trasimene, Hannibal trapped the Romans in an ambush without an escape route.
What he did was to draw the Romans in close ranks, then sneak attack them with his infantry, and
block the way out with his fast cavalry. This lead to the death of 30,000 Roman soldiers plus a high
ranking Roman general named Flaminius. In this battle, the casualties of Hannibal s forces were only
2,500 soldiers.
Another battle that shows the great military mind of Hannibal was at Cannae. At this particular battle
Hannibal, used his great military cleverness to split up the Roman forces. By doing so he attacked
them from many different angles. This strategy called for another stunning victory for Hannibal. As a
matter of fact, his forces killed as many as 44,000 Roman soldiers. These events are some of the
reasons that made Hannibal one of the greatest military minds of all

Napoleon s Warfare Strategies And Tactics On Modern Day...
Napoleon Bonaparte is credited with being a great military tactician as well as a military genius during
his era. He played a significant role in world history and the art of war. The man s genius was
fundamentally practical, and all the military concepts he used were attributed to his close study that he
did of his earlier commanders, predominantly Fredrick the Great. He did not trust any novel idea and
thus by no means used other people s concepts. He made the fullest utilization of the notions of his
predecessors, which he breathed life into them making them successful. Napoleon had to be strategic
in order to be victorious in his conquests. The skills, strategies and tactics he used in the battlegrounds
were desired and thus copied by many during his era and up today. Warfare especially during the
Napoleonic era fundamentally changed modern warfare and continues to be the main reason the
military studies Napoleon today. It impacted the battles of today. This essay s main purpose is to point
out the impacts of Napoleon s warfare strategies and tactics on modern day warfare. It will analyze the
principles Napoleon used during his era, and they include the theory of nationalism, creation of the
corps system and leading disciplined and professional armies.
The principle of the theory of nationalism is all about being patriotic. Napoleon used this principle
during his time and it is highly implemented by military today. Nationalism refers to being loyal and

Pro Choice Vs Pro Life
Most people don t know that there has been approximately 57,762,169 abortions since the decision
was made in Roe vs. Wade in 1973 (Life News). Some people look at this number and are appalled.
But others see this and think of all the people who used abortion as a means to a second chance.
Abortion has long been a controversial topic in the U.S. but lots of people are choosing sides without
really knowing all the facts. Abortion can be seen from many different sides but most know these
sides as pro choice or pro life. Pro choice is known for supporting women s right to choose whether
they want to have the baby or not and pro life is known for supporting the life of the unborn child. The
big question is who are abortions really hurting and who is pro life really helping.
Let s start with Pro Life, after doing some research I have found that this seems to be a more popular
decision. There are a lot of reasons floating around as to why abortion should be illegal one of the
main reasons is the effect that having abortions can have on the woman who is having the abortion
done. I have found that having one or many abortions can cause physical effects like cramping,
abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and bleeding or spotting. It can also cause more
dangerous effects like heavy bleeding, fever, infection, damage to the uterus or cervix, and possible
death. It can also have many emotional side effects like regret, a sense of loneliness, anxiety, or
nightmares. There are

The Negative Effects of Video Games Essay
Video games began in the late 1960s. It is highly interactive but also a distinct simulation of the real
world and the world of thinking. In recent years, Video games have been gaining its popularity at an
amazing rate and have developed into a common form of entertainment in people s lives. According to
a survey, the researcher found that in 1992, approximately ninety two percent of U.S. kids between 2
and 17 years of age play video games, and their parents bought 225 million of them last year to the
tune of 6.4 billion dollars (Sider, 2002). Some people also believe that playing video games has
become a cultural phenomenon. However, there are many noticeable problems are coming out while

Moreover, the frontal lobe of the brain is playing an essential role in controlling individual s behavior,
but the sad is it can only develop up to an age of 20. If children s frontal lobe is underdeveloped or
damaged, the things they do will be always improper, but in contrast if the frontal lobe is stimulated,
its fibrous tissue will grow and get thick that will help a lot on keeping their behavior in order. Video
games stunt the development of the frontal lobe in brain, which is very harmful to next generation of a
nation. Video games also have negative impacts on other parts of brain which are responsible for
sensory, emotion and visual perception. A Strong impulse of sound and light in video games can
directly divert the children s attention. In order to achieve an attractive effect, video games are often
colorful and stereotyped. When there is too much stimulus on visual and auditory, the children s
sensory function will be attenuated and sluggish to react. Additionally, many people argued that there
is a direct connection between children playing violent video games and becoming more violent on
their behavior. In an experiment, two groups of children were tested and they are separated by three to
six months. The purpose of this experiment is to assess the participants video games habits and

Analysis Of The Great Mother Archetype
After consciousness passes through the uroboric stage, the next archetypal symbol Neumann offers is
that of the Great Mother. Similar to the uroboros, the Great Mother typically enters the mythical realm
as the first sexed being within it. Still possessing the ability to create without a partner, this figure is
often linked to nature, fertility and the unconscious. At this stage, the ego has not fully established
independence from its unconscious source, which is apparent in the sexed son lovers, created by the
Great Mother to beget more creation unto her world (often at the sacrifice of the male counterpart).
Diotima s variation of the origin of Love (Eros) demonstrates an interesting embodiment of the Great
Mother Archetype ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this way, the nature of Love is hermaphroditic, not in the sense that it hasn t escaped the uroboric
stage development with an undeveloped germ like ego floating in a vast sea of unconsciousness; but
rather that this god, this spirit, this being marks a true return of the fundamental unity the uroboros
represents. Through its conscious will Love seeks to attain the fullness ardently desired by its
unconscious, willfully ignorant that any beauty or wisdom it holds will slip away the second he grasps
for a second handful. I find this origin not only provocative but also profoundly moving. I also think it
has interesting implications for Neumann s interpretation of the role of the feminine and masculine
within the Uroboros (and the Great Mother as well). Neumann himself says that, Hunger and food are
the prime movers of mankind (27). Applying this declaration to Diotima s myth, the connection to
Poverty as the prime mover is more than apparent. It is precisely this emptiness, this lacking which
drives her to join with Resource and create Love, and in this sense, it is she, not the masculine element
who acts as the initial movement, the procreative thrust (Neumann 18). Essentially, Woman is always
first, not just in presence, but in action and desire.

Moving on to what was actually assigned, I decided to examine the myth of Adonis and Aphrodite.
Since Neumann specifically mentions the many Greek myths in which beautiful male youths die

Research Instrument Used For Students
Participants:
In order to perform my observation, I will gather thirty teens who are willing to take part out of the
predetermined school. Ten teens would be in the ninth grade who do not regularly text, and the other
twenty would be twelfth graders who have texted daily for the last three years. In order to establish a
well rounded answer, I will make sure students are selected from different classrooms and different
teachers. I will also make sure the thirty teens selected have varying grade point averages to keep the
group diverse. To assure I have a rapport with the students, I will ask to sit in on several classes before
actually individually interviewing anyone.
Research Instrument Used:
Before any research even starts, I will sit in on both the ninth grade and twelfth grade classes with
participating students seven times to become familiarized with the students and allow the students to
get comfortable with me. After the participants from each class are selected, information will be
gathered for each teen such as their name, age, grade, previous academic grades from seventh grade
until present grade, any additional test scores on English and reading skills, as well as any formal
writing assignments. Furthermore, each participant will be asked individually to fill out a
questionnaire in regards to their texting habits. They will be questioned about the details of their cell
phone usage, the numbers of texts they send daily, as well as how many hours they

Helicopters and the Army were very limited in their capabilities, acquisitions of aircraft, laws in place,

the need was required during the war. Army Aviation saw expansions of their force structure and how

Army Aviation to grow into the fighting force we know now.
Helicopter Advancement
The Korean War forced many changes on the way helicopters were used. Most importantly, the
medical evacuation (MEDEVAC) function was a pivotal function Army Aviation could provide to the
ground commanders. The potential of helicopters on the battle field were huge, but there were some
hurdles that needed to be overcome. The Army largely depended on the Marine Corps experiences in
Korea to develop programs of their own (Kreisher, 2011). This inspired the Army to field the Bell YH
13 as a replacement for the light, fixed wing, observation aircraft. In 1950, less than two months
before the Korean War, the Army approved five transportation rotary wing companies to begin
producing aircraft.
Limitations of Army Helicopters In September, 1950, General J. Lawton Collins asked the Air Force
to remove weight restrictions of 3,500 pounds, limiting what the Army could do with their helicopters.
After a year of debates and meetings, a formal agreement between the Air Force and the Army
removed the weight limitations. The United

Mechanical Engineering is a field that requires constant updating. With the advent of new technology,

my master s degree in mechanical engineering next semester, so a career plan is what I need.
Choosing the right career takes a lot of careful timing, and it takes a lot of careful and precise plans in

computer operating systems now including phones, and cars. Everything is getting smaller, and the
world is always going to be accepting of new technological advances in hardware. In a competing
global market it s a sure fire way to know that I would have some semblance of job security in the

be reliant on technology for means of communicating with each other and assert global dominance.

the early 1990 s, the business of the gaming industry was prospering, but all of a sudden the market

The Long History Of Summer Camp
The words summer camp conjure up fond memories of campfires, s mores, pranks, and color war for
many Americans. What appeals to many campers, or prospective campers, is the keeping of tradition.
Many campers can trace back their relatives who attended the very same camp, and find delight in the
idea of shared experiences with their close, or distant, relatives. The long history of summer camps in
America stems from an annual trip William Frederick Gunn began to take in 1861 in order to expose
young boys to what life in the wilderness has to offer. Originally, the Gunn s theory was that the
experience would strengthen not merely muscle, nerve, and self discipline, but developed a masculine
character as well. This applied specifically for boys, but camps for girls first appeared in 1902 with the
opening of Camp Kehonka, in reflection of the changing attitudes with reference to the role of women
in society. Sleepaway camps become a prominent institution in America in the 1900 s that influenced
the youth of this country, and continues to do so over one hundred years later, as thousands of summer
camps still run every summer, many of which are the same camps that sparked this burgeoning trend.
The development of this idiosyncratic principle in American life can be understood through the
development of various widespread opinions during, and before, the first sleepaway camp was
founded.
To fully understand the roots of the summer camp ideology, it is imperative to look

The Demand And Supply Analysis
Introduction: The most important tool in microeconomics is the demand and supply analysis. Demand
refers to the amount of the product which is desired by the purchaser at a certain price level where as
the supply of the product represents the amount of quantity that is supplied in the market at a certain
level of price. There are different factors on which demand is dependent. Apart from the price of the
product, the demand depends upon the income, the number of consumers, preferences of the
consumers and income of the consumers. The supply of the product depends upon the price of the
product, future expectation of the prices and price of the factors of production (Colander 2013).
Resources availability is limited in the country so there is a need to observe the demand and supply so
that the resources are not exhausted. The demand and supply mechanism is analyzed before getting
into a detailed discussion upon the demand and supply of human resources and iron ore resources in
the Australian economy. Several newspaper articles has been collected showing the demand for the
skills in the state of Queensland and the supply iron ore has dropped in respect of the increase in
global supply more than the demand. Mechanism of Demand and Supply: When the other factors,
which are seen to affect the demand for the product is constant then a rise in the price of the product,
will lead to fall and when there is fall in the prices then there will be an increase in the demand. There

Similarities Between Beowulf And The Dream Of The Rood
Through the written works Beowulf, The History of the Kings of Britain, as well as the Dream of the
Rood, we can see that savage behavior like unnecessary killing and pillaging and raiding the lands of
other has been apart of warrior culture consistently through time. What changes over time is the
spiritual justification of such barbaric acts.
Dream of the Rood is a poem written in Old English that follows a theme, yes there s suffering bad
things do happen, but there s God and one day he might save you. The poem tells the story of the tree
that becomes the cross Jesus is hung on. The need to kill exists even in the presence of god except
now it is called a sacrifice. For the Rood, however, glory has replaced torment and at the end the
dreamer s description of Christ s triumphant entry into heaven with the souls He has liberated from
hell reflects the dreamer s response to the hope that has been brought to him. The tree finds honor in
being the one chosen to participate in the death of Christ because it is God s will. ... Show more

What Does The Deaf Education Curriculum Does Not Build A...
Auditory challenged individuals are comprised of nearly 10,000,000 hard of hearing and 1,000,000
functionally deaf Americans and a half a million were born or diagnosed deaf before turning eighteen
years old in the United States (Mitchell 2006). A great percentage of this demographic primary
language is American Sign Language (ASL). These individuals are considered a verbal minority.
Within the deaf community deaf is defined as people who have been deaf or hard of hearing entirely
or most of their lives. In addition to sign language, auditory challenged individuals use broken speech
usually no higher than a fourth grade level (Hauser, O Hearn, McKee, Steider, Thew 2010). The basic

look at my husband if I felt the floor slightly rumble because I can see the dogs barking and running

question it was recited to my husband. H wrote it down than I verbally answered. It got confusing
because my husband stated he started talking and realized half way I did not hear anything. It was

The Rage Against The Machine
It was a time of long hair and stealth window escapes at the midnight hour; a time of skipping class,
anti establishment sentiment spewing forth from my foul, juvenile, remorseless mouth. I was mad at
the world on the grounds that I felt as though I had been dealt a lousy hand in this life. In my infinite
teenage wisdom, I had convinced myself if I could not everything my way, I would set the world
ablaze and watch it burn. Full of aggressive energy, anger was the emotion with which I chose to
express myself. Naturally, I found fuel for the fire in a band named Rage against the Machine. Front
man Zach de la Rocha put the emotions I was experiencing into a lyrical poetic, militant, rap core
metal form. It was unlike anything I had ever heard before: pure, intellectual, and most of all,
unfiltered. Initially, I was drawn to Rage because of their sound and musical talent, with their
unparalleled ability to blend various genres of music and produce something authentic in a world of
simulacra. On the other hand, I had little knowledge of events, names, and issues that this band was
bringing to my attention: real life sociological issues like economic inequality, political prisoners held
captive in our own country, brute force control, and the reality that freedom is a hoodwink illusion.
These are topics that I have evolved to feel passionately about and of which I wish others were more
conscious and aware. Subject matters that are so heinous that one does not actually desire or

The Key Aspects Of Mechanics Essay
These tricks that the top level athletes perform all relate to the laws of physics, every trick has
components of mechanics whether it be performed in a half pipe or just straight off the ground. The
key aspects of mechanics that are essential for these tricks performed in a half pipe include Torque,
Momentum, Centripetal force, Velocity, Acceleration; they also need to follow the laws of projectile
motion, conservation of energy. All of these play a role in helping the top athletes perform tricks and
giving them the ability to rotate in the air at will and land safely.
The law of motion is Newton s first law of physics that relates to inertia. This law state that an object
will remain at rest and an object in motion will remain in motion (rotating, moving straight) unless
acted upon by external forces. This and the law, conservation of momentum, explain how the rotation
occurs in the air. If you re rotating, you ll keep rotating unless a twisting force, or torque, acts to stop
you. In other words if you re not rotating, you can t rotate unless a torque starts you rotating. Both of
these apply to when snowboarders and skateboarders are in the air doing tricks. In relation to athletes
it means that they will stay rotating and moving in an upward direction if it weren t for external forces
such as gravity which helps decelerate them at 9.8ms 2 until they reach a final velocity of 0ms 1 and
other external forces such as air resistance/friction that help slow down the

The Contributions Of Albert Einstein
Albert Einstein was one of the most well known scientists of the 20th century. He was born in Ulm,
Germany and was a very hard worker. Albert Einstein worked for what he wanted and ended up
reaching those goals. He won many awards including the Nobel Peace Prize in Physics in 1921.
According to the statutes, a reserved prize can be awarded the year after, and Albert Einstein was
awarded the 1921 Nobel Prize in 1922. He was rewarded for his many contributions to theoretical
physics, and especially for his discovery of the law of the photoelectric effect. Albert Einstein was one
of the most well known physicists who loved science, like me, and worked hard for what he wanted to

Einstein studied Physics of the Universe. Physics of the Universe is all about space, time, and its

Published in 1916 to all coordinate systems. The theory was not published until 1916. In this theory
the interactions of bodies are explained as the influence of bodies on the geometry of spacetime. Give

In the Tusculan Disputations, Cicero wrote The Epicureans by their writings have seized the whole of
Italy. Indeed, this often neglected or dismissed branch of philosophy played a great role in the
development of the culture of Rome through the late Republican period. It can prove difficult to find
examples of noteworthy Epicureans holding political office compared with their polemic counterparts,
the Stoics, largely because of the Epicurean teaching [one must] live without being noticed. Still, there
are a few who hold public office despite their Epicurean beliefs, or perhaps more appropriately,
continue to hold Epicurean beliefs despite the social expectation to aspire to public office. From the
writings and of Cicero and Lucretius, we can come to understand the immense impact Epicureanism
had on Roman culture.
The first chronicled Roman who was classically trained in Epicureanism is Titus Albucius, a member
of the upper class living around 100 B.C.E. who spent his youth studying philosophy and oration in
Athens. Albucius grew fond of Epicureanism and declared himself a devotee of the school; however,
after reaching adulthood, Albucius returned to Rome to follow the cursus honorum, eventually ending
up as praetor of a province. After being exiled, Albucius went back to Athens and fully dedicated
himself to Epicureanism by abandoning the political life entirely. Indeed, a seemingly innocuous

While there are benefits in preservatives in order to preserve shelf life, these preservatives could also
negatively impact your vital organs causing decline in their functions. Are preservatives and additives
like this helping or hindering? Even foods which most would consider to be preservative free and
healthy often contains those additives. Take salad as an example, most Americans consider it a healthy
lunch. But it does not cross the average American s mind that something supposedly healthy such as
salad would bring issues due to the preservatives that were once present in them. Anastasia Toufexis,
Time Magazine author, informs us that sulfites were put in salads and vegetables to keep them from
wilting and discoloring. However, in the 1980s, the FDA took control and limited the intake of sulfites
by mandating that foods containing more than 10 parts per million of sulfites must list this information
on the food label. (Robin) The FDA has yet to ban them, they simply require food companies to list
them on the label. Currently, most Americans also see the protein foods or meal replacement shakes
they eat after working out or to lose weight as healthy; however, most of these are also full of
preservatives. Men s Fitness focuses on the food that people eat it without thinking because it says it is
meant to help fitness. People are unaware that the majority of the ingredients in health foods are still

The World s Image Of God
So God created humankind in his image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he
created them. God blessed them, and God said to them, Be fruitful and multiply...
Together men and women were meant to bring life, and subdue the earth, ordering their environment.
From the beginning God asked mankind to make a good home from what he provided and mandated
that man and woman do so together. Man was meant to be a keeper, while the woman was to be a
helper. When the woman enriches life on earth with the help she offers man, and man works to subdue
earth in order to provide a living space supportive of the life of woman and child, earth becomes a
home. Rather than a wild, untamed environment, creation becomes a place centered around human
beings, with man and woman at its apex. Without the woman, the environment becomes wild and
untamed, without her it s just man and the animals.
Then the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper as his
partner.
In a very raw sense the woman does foster the preservation of life, but she was meant for more.
She was meant to bring a fruitful and enriching aspect to life. Preservation suggests that there is a
negative force encroaching on life, it s being lived to the fullest. However, God gave man women in a
time of peace before the first death had occurred. In an optimum environment where life is fostered,
woman is enabled to not only foster its preservation, but the enrichment of

Character Analysis Of Shouto Todoroki My Hero
The character I ve chosen is Shouto Todoroki My Hero Academia, which is written by Horikoshi
Kouhei. He s also one of the main protagonists of the story. Todoroki is generally calm, blunt, and
cold. I find it funny how unintelligent he is when it comes to other people s emotions, and even though
he means well sometimes, his words sometimes come off as harsh. He s mainly portrayed as a calm
and collected individual, but Todoroki can get riled up sometimes. Additionally, he s not one to easily
let go of his anger or hatred towards others. Todoroki is 176 cm, or approximately 5 9 , as officially
stated in his character profile. He has heterochromia, as his right eye is gray while his left eye is blue.
Furthermore, his hair is also split evenly into different colors, the left half being red and the right half
being white. Todoroki also has a burn scar over his left eye, from when he was younger and his
mother threw boiling water over his face. His heterochromia and hair is a not so subtle hint at his
power, which is to burn with his left half, and freeze with his right. However, Todoroki only uses his
ability to freeze ice for the majority of the story, due to his grudge towards his father. He believes that
his father is at fault for his mother being sent to the hospital, and Todoroki s cold personality stems
from his harsh upbringing. In My Hero Academia, a week before final exams, their teacher reminds
them to study for the exams, and some of his classmates admit that

Love in Poetry Essay
Love in Poetry
The course of true love never did run smoothly, (William
Shakespeare.) How far do you think the three poems you have read conform to this view?
Throughout history love has been a favoured theme with many poets in their writing. Carol Ann
Duffy, (born 1958) tackles the issue of love in her poem Valentine, as does Percy Bysshe Shelly (1792
1822) in the poem Love s Philosophy, and finally Robert Burns (1759 1796) considers the topic in A
Red Red Rose. As different poets throughout history have written about the topic it is not surprising
that all three contain different and contrasting messages and viewpoints. It is clear that with the
passage of time, views have become more pessimistic or some may say ... Show more content on

These aspects contribute to the poem giving an overall impression that love is everlasting and also
holds the world together in a unifying way.
These previous images also enforce Burns message that love lasts, survives and can be relied on.
Burns suggests love will last till a the seas gang dry. This is physically impossible and through this
Burns is suggesting that love is so powerful that it can defy the laws of physics. Through this Burns
also implies that love can surmount boundaries of space and time, the seas gang dry . This finally
enforces that love is an enduring power and will never fade.
The title A Red Red Rose further implements Burns messages that the course of true love does run
smoothly. The red rose is a typical symbol of love and therefore Burns is suggesting, perhaps naively,
that love is a clear and simple path to follow in life. The title also suggests that Burns feels love should
be celebrated and life should be lived to the full. The title also alerts the reader to the fact that Burns is
addressing the traditional aspects of love.
The poem has a regular structure throughout and strong rhyme. Burns has written the poem in this
way in an attempt to portray love as a strong force, which can be depended on. Burns has also
included alternate line rhyme throughout the poem. This

Problem of Tyranny of the Majority
Problem of Tyranny of the Majority Federalist papers were a series of essays written by Alexander
Hamilton, John Jay and James Madison and were publish with the pen name Publius . They were first
written to urge the citizens of New York City to support ratification of the proposed United States
Constitution. This paper will analyze the problem of tyranny of the majority in both society and the
government by using Madison s Federalist Papers No.10 and 51. It will also discuss how the
republican government and separation of powers provide remedies. In Federalist Paper No.10,
Madison defines factions as groups of people who have a common self interest. They would be
different to the individual rights of other citizens because they were involved with their own benefits.
He states that factions are inherent to human nature and citizens are no longer living under a state of
liberty. Madison states, liberty is to faction what air is to fire , this means that with out liberty there
cannot be any factions. By destroying the liberty, which is essential to its existence, the other, by
giving to every citizen the same opinions, the same passions, and the same interests. The difference
between those who have and those who don t would always be in existence, and is in fact one of the
most common unavoidable cause of factions. Individuals will always continue to associate themselves
with those who are on the same level, as long as we have different property and economic statues.

Analysis of The Moose Essay examples
Analysis of The Moose
Elizabeth Bishop s The Moose is a narrative poem of 168 lines. Its twenty eight six line stanzas are
not rigidly structured. Lines vary in length from four to eight syllables, but those of five or six
syllables predominate. The pattern of stresses is lax enough almost to blur the distinction between
verse and prose; the rhythm is that of a low keyed speaking voice hovering over the descriptive
details. The eyewitness account is meticulous and restrained.
The poem concerns a bus traveling to Boston through the landscape and towns of New Brunswick.
While driving through the woods, the bus stops because a moose has wandered onto the road. The

The thirty six line introduction is the most sustained piece of writing in the poem. It forms a sequence
of red leaved and purple Canadian landscapes through which the blue bus journeys. Then, in smaller
units, for another thirty six lines the bus route is reviewed, main stops mentioned, and further details
concerning the passengers, the weather, and the scenic sights duly recorded. Day is replaced by
evening, and light gives way to darkness. The eleventh stanza brings in a climactic moment of
equilibrium and economy of design. Beginning with the thirteenth stanza, the first quotes are used, as
they will again be in the twentieth, twenty fourth and twenty fifth, and, finally, in the twenty seventh
stanza. Stanza 14 the moonlight episode is the very center of the poem. This section is rhymeless,
though this is amply compensated for by the triple epithets in the third line, and it marks the transition
from the outer, natural world to the inner, human concerns of the second part of the work, which
includes lines 85 129. Usually unchronicled and unheroic human tragedy receives an indirect
presentation, culminating with the moving and dramatically rendered twentieth stanza. The third part
of the poem begins, appropriately, in mid stanza with line 130. The encounter with the moose the
climax of the entire poem is allotted two descriptive stanzas (the twenty fourth and the twenty sixth).

1960s are now history, ripe for new interpretations. Yet I was also an immigrant to the United States in
1961, fresh from working as an administrator in the British National Health Service. The period
immediately before the Medicare legislation in 1965 shines in my memory with the vividness of new
impressions: those of a young health care student trying to make sense of the U. S. health care system,
and indeed, of the United States. The health care system and the United States as a society stand, in

In this technologically advanced world, there is an element that is missing. In everyday life, there used
to be chivalry: holding open doors, pulling a chair out for a woman, and even the phrase ¨ladies go
first.¨ Chivalry is courteous acts and gallant behavior, especially toward women, also known as the
gentleman. There are very few modern gentleman and that is the problem with today s world. Not to
mention, all of society has lost respect for each other. There are three main reasons that chivalry has
disappeared, the addiction to social media, the general lack of manners, and finally, women
themselves. There is no way to solve a problem that no one cares about. Unfortunately, not a whole lot
of people care about chivalry, and the basic respect for all men. Ergo, there is no guaranteed solution,
but maybe if the general public agree to teach some sort of chivalrous content in public schools, we
could start something big. The first reason that there are very few gentleman left, is the fact that this
generation relies so heavily on social media. According to a study from the family technology
education non profit group, Common Sense Media, ¨teens are spending more than one third of their
days using media such as online video or music nearly nine hours on average,¨ therefore people are
distracted by their devices. Individuals spend so much time on their phone, that they do not feel like
talking to people they would rather text. Even so, there is no worry anymore because

Research Paper On Saudi Arabian Airlines
The supply chain management is the oversight of materials, information, and finance. As they move in
process from supplier to manufacture to wholesaler to retailer. Finally to consumer. Overall supply
chain management involves coordination these flows both within and among many different
companies from all over the world. In this research paper we will talk about the Saudi Arabian
Airlines supply chain management. Specifically in two parts which is the transportation system they
have and the warehouses.
First of all the Saudi Arabian Airlines Organization is a big organization which founded in 1945 with a
single airliner. Saudi Arabian Airlines has grown to one of the world leading airlines with over 40
million guests served by 55000 employees ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In fact, the organization can pick an assortment of method for transportation. In such manner, the
decision ought to be grounded on requirements of the organization. For example, the organization
working in the book distributing industry needs the supply of paper and mash materials alongside the
supply of ink and different materials fundamental for book distributing. In such a circumstance, the
organization ought to recognize successful methods for transportation in light of the fact that the
transportation may expand expenses of creation considerably. For example, utilizing the air
transportation for book distributing is irrational on the grounds that the expenses of such
transportation are the most elevated, while the quick speed of transportation does not legitimize its
expenses. Rather, the organization ought to concentrate on four key measurements: rail transport,
inland water transport, sea transport, and air transport. Every method for transportation of materials
required for the book distributing and for the advancement of powerful inventory network has its focal
points and disadvantages yet whichever way might be utilized effectively, if the organization applies it

Should College Tuition Be Free
Imagine having to pay $25,620 just for a college education, research has shown the average bachelor s
degree holder takes 21 years to pay off his or her loans. This leads to the question if college tuition
should be free or not. While some may believe it ought to be others disagree.
People like Arne Duncan believe college tuition should be free. The cost of college should never
discourage anyone from going after a valuable degree. Meanwhile people such as Matt Bruenig
disagree. Making college free for everyone would almost certainly mean giving far more money to
students from richer families than from poorer ones.
To start off, some people strongly concur that college tuition should be free. For example free college
tuition means more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the reasons why people believe that college tuition shouldn t be free is because taxes and fees
will be increased. Many students can afford to pay a considerable amount toward their higher
education. It is wasteful to give them a free ride. Eric Maskin explains. Just because some students can
t pay their college tuition doesn t mean everyone can t therefore there is no need for college tuition to
be free. College loans are often the first major financial dealing that people work with. Paying them
off in a timely manner proves you know how to budget your money, skills people use again and again
when buying cars or houses. Without having to pay for school, that experience won t exist, which
might be trouble down the road for buying that house or car. In reason to college shouldn t be free
because college might not seem as important and private schools may have to be closed. If college
becomes free for students, colleges will attract more young people who are not suited for college and
more students will major in fields with little or no market value. Students may skip class or not try
their hardest of the fact that they don t need to get their cash s worth when they aren t paying for
anything. As enrollment at public schools increases, so do the fees. Either more money would have to
be given to the schools, or they would have to create waitlists. This means that the taxes for education
related purposes might go up, or funding for something else (such as military expenditures). After
consideration some may believe that college tuition shouldn t be

Women Go Into Leadership
Title:
Women go into leadership female style or male style?
The Pitch:
The debate about the difference in leadership style of women and men continues to attract attention
since women make strides into leadership position dominated mainly by men. Men have long been
holding these leadership roles and have defined styles accepted by people. Therefore, it is not
surprising that women are usual the focus in terms of the discussion on gender difference in leadership
styles. There seems to be great disagreement about the behaviour of women and men actually
performing such roles (Eagly, 2001). This disagreement on this focus can be divided into two groups.
One is the no difference camp, who commonly agreed that there are few differenced in the ... Show

In other words, communal aspects are more presented in a transformational leadership style. While
transformational leaders are portrayed to have a personalized view of each co worker and they often
take into account their colleagues individual needs and development (Eagly, 2003).
Based on Eagly and Johannesen Schmidt theory, female and male forms of leadership and
empowerment seem to be different. Communal and transformational characteristics are more
presented by women than men. So some women exhibited an open and participatory leadership style.
Additionally, women are perceived to work harder and take their work more seriously, and women are
less concern with salary than the recognition of a good done of job (Alvesson, 2009).
The focus of the debate concentrates on: In what context leadership style shows a similarity or a slight
difference between women and men and is there a specific female form of leadership? This
documentary shows the different leadership styles of women by case studies. It will investigate
whether or perhaps there is a specific female style of leadership preferred by a majority of women.
POV:
Social role theory of sex differences and similarities convincingly explains the sex differences in
leadership style. At the same time, there are certain expectations coming from co workers towards
their leaders when they are

Spreading Christianity in The Journey And Ordeal Of Cabeza...
Book: The Journey And Ordeal Of Cabeza De Vaca Pg. 1
Author: Alvar Nunez Cabeza De Vaca
( The Spread of Christianity was the most significant purpose of Cabeza De Vaca s account) While
many would say Cabeza De Vaca s exploration was built on struggle, death, and extreme suffering, I
would say that Cabeza De Vaca s exploration although disastrous, was a complete success. The
significant purpose was to gain insight on the different cultures of the Indians that Cabeza De Vaca
had encountered, to find gold and signs of wealth, and also possible agricultural environments. But the
overwhelming purpose that ties all these together is Cabeza De Vaca s understanding of the possibility
for the spread of Christianity throughout the American southwest.
One of the biggest obstacle s Cabeza De Vaca had to endure were the many Indian tribes he
encountered. Some were friendly, many were violent, and others where just curious. It seemed from
the very start Cabeza De Vaca was able to experience the many actions, emotions, and traditions that
came with the Indian s, which helped him accommodate and grow closer to the different Indian tribes.
Whether it was him observing the ignorance of the Avavares Indians in there way of telling time, the
lack in understanding of the seasons, or the immoral practices of the Mariames and the Yguaces
Indians killing young children and slaughtering men and women, Cabeza De Vaca experienced it all,
and his greatest asset was his skills of

Supreme Court Has Now Rendered A Landmark Decision On Art.356
BOMMAI CASE: The Supreme Court has now rendered a landmark decision on Art.356(1) in S.R.
Bommai v. India. The case arose in the context of the following facts. In 1989, the Janata Dal Ministry
headed by Shri S.R. Bommai was in office in Karnataka. A number of members defected from the
party and there arose a question mark on the majority support in the House for the Bommai s Ministry.
The Chief Minister proposed to the Governor that the Assembly session be called to test the strength
of the Ministry on the floor of the alternative government but reported to the President that as Shri
Bommai had lost the majority support in the House, and as no other party was in a position to form the
government, action be taken under Art.356(1). Accordingly, the President issued the proclamation in
April, 1989. Bommai challenged the validity of the proclamation before the Karnataka High Court
through a writ petition on various grounds. The High Court ruled that the proclamation issued under
Art.356(1) is not wholly outside the pole of judicial scrutiny; the satisfaction of the President under
Art.356(1) which is a condition present for issue of the proclamation ought to be real and genuine
satisfaction based on relevant facts and circumstances. The scope of judicial scrutiny is therefore
confined to an examination whether the disclosed reasons bear any rational nexus to the action
proposed or proclamation issued. The courts may examine as to whether the proclamation was based

Spiritual Leader Peter At The Prison Gate
Spiritual Leader Peter was to be placed on trial. He was asleep, fastened with two chains between two
soldiers. Others stood guard at the prison gate. An Angel had come before peter in his prison cell.
When he saw the Angel, he thought he was dreaming. They passed the guard and city gates and the
angel left his presence. Peter came to the actual reality of knowing it was not a dream. Realizing this
he said, The Lord has sent his angel and saved me from Herod and from what these people had
planned to do to me. Peter was a leader in the church, so he had prayed for God to work things out.
They were constantly in prayer. Once he was freed with the leading of the angel Peter took a visited to
the home of Mary. While a group of people were gathered there praying, he knocked, and a servant
came to answer the door. When she realized who it was, rather than open the door, she ran to let
everyone else know Peter was there. When she told the people gathered together, they did not believe
her. Meanwhile, Peter continued knocking on the door. When the door opened, they all were shocked
to see Peter standing before them again.
Jordan 2
Analysis
So Peter finds his way to this home, and the Bible says that many were there gathered together and
were praying. Here is a case in which prayer and living were simultaneous. They are still praying. God
has already answered some of the prayers in the past. He has placed Peter in a test of obedience with
prayer. The Bible teaches us to

Outsourcing Of The United States
According to Investopedia, outsourcing is a practice used by different companies to reduce costs by
transferring portions of work to outside suppliers rather than completing it internally (Investopedia,
n.d). Companies use outsourcing to reduce costs and improve productivity. In the 1970 s and 1980 s
was when companies first began looking for alternatives to increase their profits and increase the
production of their products (Narayanan, 2015). Products were becoming to expensive to make in the
United States and other lesser developed countries were less expensive, and that is why the United
States turned to China for production. There are lots of other reasons for outsourcing such as gaining
access to new markets, gaining global knowledge, focusing on their core business practices, and being
closer to their resources. Gaining access to new markets happens because the company is moving
production abroad, and they are in a whole new area. When they begin production in this area, the
people of that country are opened up to that new idea. Also gaining global knowledge is very similar
to gaining access to new markets. With the company being in a new country they learn a lot about that
country. They need to learn practices, customs, language, etc. If that company doesn t learn customs,
beliefs, or practices then they can offend the citizens of that country, and then their company will not
be as successful. If a company decides to outsource, they also can focus on their core

Crisis Episodes This study done by Oliver Robinson and Gordon Wright (2013) focuses on the crises experienced in early and middle adulthood and its correlation with prevalence, type of crisis experienced, and how an individual perceives them retrospectively. To explain this, in the article the authors explain the definitions of autobiographical memory and crisis episodes. Autobiographical memory meaning the memories a person has about their past that makes up their personal and individual story (Robinson Wright, 2013). In effect, an empirical classification system is proposed with the principle strengths that such classification allows the comprehensive inclusion of a range of available characters, therefore the overall similarity of members within groups is broadly based.15 This empiricist approach has a number of characteristics which may prove particularly beneficial to pharmaceutical industry strategists because it provides a means to discern and analyse a pattern within an industry regarded by some as data rich but information poor. The following principles underpin such an approach.16 1 2 A priori each variable is of equal weight in creating natural groups. Overall similarity between any two firms is a function of their individual similarities in each of the characters by which they are being compared. Distinct groups may be recognised because the correlation of characters will differ between groups. In effect, each natural strategic group should demonstrate a different pattern of resource commitments. Classifications are based upon similarity. 3 4 Porter (1980)14 proposes 13 strategic dimensions that together should capture the possible ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The student was asked to monitor vitals during a knee surgery. The patient was given Halothane and the surgery began. After two hours in surgery, the patient, who was a young athletic female named Sharon Riley, began to show signs of distress. This patient s temperature elevated to 105 °F and pulse began to rise up to 120 bpm, and her blood pressure began to drop down to 60/56 mmHg. This triggers the monitors alarm because normal vitals for this patient were a temperature of 98.6 °F, 75 bpm pulse and blood pressure of 105/60 mmHg. This causes the doctors to react quickly and begin to assess what is wrong ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Describe the pathophysiology. It is possible that the Halothane triggered a genetically predisposed condition called Malignant hyperthermia (MH) in the patient Sharon who was having surgery on her knee. Sharon presented with symptoms 2 hours after administration of inhaled Halothane. She had a temperature that elevated to 105 degrees, increased heart rate of 120 bpm and low blood pressure of 60/56. All of these symptoms are abnormal for this patient but can be signs of the condition MH. This condition can be triggered by exposure to volatile inhaled anesthesia drugs like Halothane and signs can be seen during surgery or shortly after surgery (library book, pg510). MH alters the calcium channel in the sarcoplasmic reticulum (SR) and this allows large quantity of calcium to be released from the SR creating hyper action in skeletal muscle; this reaction increases oxygen consumption and increased heat production that ultimately leads to a hypermetabolic state after the inhaled Halothane has triggered the condition (Knies). Even with his fast cavalry and strong infantry Hannibal knew that he did not have resources like Rome. In fact, he was always outnumbered in every battle. Yet despite of being outnumbered, his strategies helped the Carthaginians win most of the battles in the second Punic war. For example, in the battle of Lake Trasimene, Hannibal trapped the Romans in an ambush without an escape route. What he did was to draw the Romans in close ranks, then sneak attack them with his infantry, and block the way out with his fast cavalry. This lead to the death of 30,000 Roman soldiers plus a high ranking Roman general named Flaminius. In this battle, the casualties of Hannibal s forces were only 2,500 soldiers. Another battle that shows the great military mind of Hannibal was at Cannae. At this particular battle Hannibal, used his great military cleverness to split up the Roman forces. By doing so he attacked them from many different angles. This strategy called for another stunning victory for Hannibal. As a matter of fact, his forces killed as many as 44,000 Roman soldiers. • 7. Napoleon s Warfare Strategies And Tactics On Modern Day... Napoleon Bonaparte is credited with being a great military tactician as well as a military genius during his era. He played a significant role in world history and the art of war. The man s genius was fundamentally practical, and all the military concepts he used were attributed to his close study that he did of his earlier commanders, predominantly Fredrick the Great. He did not trust any novel idea and thus by no means used other people s concepts. He made the fullest utilization of the notions of his predecessors, which he breathed life into them making them successful. Napoleon had to be strategic in order to be victorious in his conquests. The skills, strategies and tactics he used in the battlegrounds were desired and thus copied by many during his era and up today. Warfare especially during the Napoleonic era fundamentally changed modern warfare and continues to be the main reason the military studies Napoleon today. It impacted the battles of today. Abortion has long been a controversial topic in the U.S. but lots of people are choosing sides without really knowing all the facts. Abortion can be seen from many different sides but most know these sides as pro choice or pro life. Pro choice is known for supporting women s right to choose whether they want to have the baby or not and pro life is known for supporting the life of the unborn child. The big question is who are abortions really hurting and who is pro life really helping. Let s start with Pro Life, after doing some research I have found that this seems to be a more popular decision. There are a lot of reasons floating around as to why abortion should be illegal one of the main reasons is the effect that having abortions can have on the woman who is having the abortion done. I have found that having one or many abortions can cause physical effects like cramping, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and bleeding or spotting. It can also cause more dangerous effects like heavy bleeding, fever, infection, damage to the uterus or cervix, and possible death. Similar to the uroboros, the Great Mother typically enters the mythical realm as the first sexed being within it. Still possessing the ability to create without a partner, this figure is often linked to nature, fertility and the unconscious. At this stage, the ego has not fully established independence from its unconscious source, which is apparent in the sexed son lovers, created by the Great Mother to beget more creation unto her world (often at the sacrifice of the male counterpart). In this way, the nature of Love is hermaphroditic, not in the sense that it hasn t escaped the uroboric stage development with an undeveloped germ like ego floating in a vast sea of unconsciousness; but rather that this god, this spirit, this being marks a true return of the fundamental unity the uroboros represents. Through its conscious will Love seeks to attain the fullness ardently desired by its unconscious, willfully ignorant that any beauty or wisdom it holds will slip away the second he grasps for a second handful. I find this origin not only provocative but also profoundly moving. I also think it has interesting implications for Neumann s interpretation of the role of the feminine and masculine within the Uroboros (and the Great Mother as well). Neumann himself says that, Hunger and food are the prime movers of mankind (27). Applying this declaration to Diotima s myth, the connection to Poverty as the prime mover is more than apparent. It is precisely this emptiness, this lacking which drives her to join with Resource and create Love, and in this sense, it is she, not the masculine element who acts as the initial movement, the procreative thrust (Neumann 18). Essentially, Woman is always first, not just in presence, but in action and desire. * * * Moving on to what was actually assigned, I decided to examine the myth of Adonis and Aphrodite. What appeals to many campers, or prospective campers, is the keeping of tradition. Many campers can trace back their relatives who attended the very same camp, and find delight in the idea of shared experiences with their close, or distant, relatives. The long history of summer camps in America stems from an annual trip William Frederick Gunn began to take in 1861 in order to expose young boys to what life in the wilderness has to offer. Originally, the Gunn s theory was that the experience would strengthen not merely muscle, nerve, and self discipline, but developed a masculine character as well. This applied specifically for boys, but camps for girls first appeared in 1902 with the opening of Camp Kehonka, in reflection of the changing attitudes with reference to the role of women in society. Sleepaway camps become a prominent institution in America in the 1900 s that influenced the youth of this country, and continues to do so over one hundred years later, as thousands of summer camps still run every summer, many of which are the same camps that sparked this burgeoning trend. Demand refers to the amount of the product which is desired by the purchaser at a certain price level where as the supply of the product represents the amount of quantity that is supplied in the market at a certain level of price. There are different factors on which demand is dependent. Apart from the price of the product, the demand depends upon the income, the number of consumers, preferences of the consumers and income of the consumers. The supply of the product depends upon the price of the product, future expectation of the prices and price of the factors of production (Colander 2013). Resources availability is limited in the country so there is a need to observe the demand and supply so that the resources are not exhausted. The demand and supply mechanism is analyzed before getting into a detailed discussion upon the demand and supply of human resources and iron ore resources in the Australian economy. The Key Aspects Of Mechanics Essay These tricks that the top level athletes perform all relate to the laws of physics, every trick has components of mechanics whether it be performed in a half pipe or just straight off the ground. The key aspects of mechanics that are essential for these tricks performed in a half pipe include Torque, Momentum, Centripetal force, Velocity, Acceleration; they also need to follow the laws of projectile motion, conservation of energy. All of these play a role in helping the top athletes perform tricks and giving them the ability to rotate in the air at will and land safely. The law of motion is Newton s first law of physics that relates to inertia. This law state that an object will remain at rest and an object in motion will remain in motion (rotating, moving straight) unless acted upon by external forces. This and the law, conservation of momentum, explain how the rotation occurs in the air. If you re rotating, you ll keep rotating unless a twisting force, or torque, acts to stop you. In other words if you re not rotating, you can t rotate unless a torque starts you rotating. Both of these apply to when snowboarders and skateboarders are in the air doing tricks. In relation to athletes it means that they will stay rotating and moving in an upward direction if it weren t for external forces such as gravity which helps decelerate them at 9.8ms 2 until they reach a final velocity of 0ms 1 and other external forces such as air resistance/friction that help slow down the ... Mitchol Dunham Master Katy Chenoweth Classical Humanities 2200 30 July 2015 In the Tusculan Disputations, Cicero wrote The Epicureans by their writings have seized the whole of Italy. Indeed, this often neglected or dismissed branch of philosophy played a great role in the development of the culture of Rome through the late Republican period. It can prove difficult to find examples of noteworthy Epicureans holding political office compared with their polemic counterparts, the Stoics, largely because of the Epicurean teaching [one must] live without being noticed. Still, there are a few who hold public office despite their Epicurean beliefs, or perhaps more appropriately, continue to hold Epicurean beliefs despite the social expectation to aspire to public office. From the writings and of Cicero and Lucretius, we can come to understand the immense impact Epicureanism had on Roman culture. The first chronicled Roman who was classically trained in Epicureanism is Titus Albucius, a member of the upper class living around 100 B.C.E. who spent his youth studying philosophy and oration in Athens. Albucius grew fond of Epicureanism and declared himself a devotee of the school; however, after reaching adulthood, Albucius returned to Rome to follow the cursus honorum, eventually ending up as praetor of a province. After being exiled, Albucius went back to Athens and fully dedicated himself to Epicureanism by abandoning the political life entirely. Indeed, a seemingly innocuous ... Are preservatives and additives like this helping or hindering? Even foods which most would consider to be preservative free and healthy often contains those additives. Take salad as an example, most Americans consider it a healthy lunch. But it does not cross the average American s mind that something supposedly healthy such as salad would bring issues due to the preservatives that were once present in them. Anastasia Toufexis, Time Magazine author, informs us that sulfites were put in salads and vegetables to keep them from wilting and discoloring. However, in the 1980s, the FDA took control and limited the intake of sulfites by mandating that foods containing more than 10 parts per million of sulfites must list this information on the food label. (Robin) The FDA has yet to ban them, they simply require food companies to list them on the label. Currently, most Americans also see the protein foods or meal replacement shakes they eat after working out or to lose weight as healthy; however, most of these are also full of preservatives. • 29. The World s Image Of God So God created humankind in his image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. God blessed them, and God said to them, Be fruitful and multiply... Together men and women were meant to bring life, and subdue the earth, ordering their environment. From the beginning God asked mankind to make a good home from what he provided and mandated that man and woman do so together. Man was meant to be a keeper, while the woman was to be a helper. When the woman enriches life on earth with the help she offers man, and man works to subdue earth in order to provide a living space supportive of the life of woman and child, earth becomes a home. Rather than a wild, untamed environment, creation becomes a place centered around human beings, with man and woman at its apex. Without the woman, the environment becomes wild and untamed, without her it s just man and the animals. Then the Lord God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper as his partner. In a very raw sense the woman does foster the preservation of life, but she was meant for more. She was meant to bring a fruitful and enriching aspect to life. Preservation suggests that there is a negative force encroaching on life, it s being lived to the fullest. However, God gave man women in a time of peace before the first death had occurred. He s also one of the main protagonists of the story. Todoroki is generally calm, blunt, and cold. I find it funny how unintelligent he is when it comes to other people s emotions, and even though he means well sometimes, his words sometimes come off as harsh. He s mainly portrayed as a calm and collected individual, but Todoroki can get riled up sometimes. Additionally, he s not one to easily let go of his anger or hatred towards others. Todoroki is 176 cm, or approximately 5 9 , as officially stated in his character profile. He has heterochromia, as his right eye is gray while his left eye is blue. Furthermore, his hair is also split evenly into different colors, the left half being red and the right half being white. Todoroki also has a burn scar over his left eye, from when he was younger and his mother threw boiling water over his face. His heterochromia and hair is a not so subtle hint at his power, which is to burn with his left half, and freeze with his right. However, Todoroki only uses his ability to freeze ice for the majority of the story, due to his grudge towards his father. He believes that his father is at fault for his mother being sent to the hospital, and Todoroki s cold personality stems from his harsh upbringing. Throughout history love has been a favoured theme with many poets in their writing. Carol Ann Duffy, (born 1958) tackles the issue of love in her poem Valentine, as does Percy Bysshe Shelly (1792 1822) in the poem Love s Philosophy, and finally Robert Burns (1759 1796) considers the topic in A Red Red Rose. These aspects contribute to the poem giving an overall impression that love is everlasting and also holds the world together in a unifying way. These previous images also enforce Burns message that love lasts, survives and can be relied on. Burns suggests love will last till a the seas gang dry. This is physically impossible and through this Burns is suggesting that love is so powerful that it can defy the laws of physics. Through this Burns also implies that love can surmount boundaries of space and time, the seas gang dry . This finally enforces that love is an enduring power and will never fade. The title A Red Red Rose further implements Burns messages that the course of true love does run smoothly. The red rose is a typical symbol of love and therefore Burns is suggesting, perhaps naively, that love is a clear and simple path to follow in life. The title also suggests that Burns feels love should be celebrated and life should be lived to the full. The title also alerts the reader to the fact that Burns is addressing the traditional aspects of love. The poem has a regular structure throughout and strong rhyme. Burns has written the poem in this way in an attempt to portray love as a strong force, which can be depended on. Burns has also included alternate line rhyme throughout the poem. This ... This paper will analyze the problem of tyranny of the majority in both society and the government by using Madison s Federalist Papers No.10 and 51. He states that factions are inherent to human nature and citizens are no longer living under a state of liberty. Day is replaced by evening, and light gives way to darkness. The eleventh stanza brings in a climactic moment of equilibrium and economy of design. Beginning with the thirteenth stanza, the first quotes are used, as they will again be in the twentieth, twenty fourth and twenty fifth, and, finally, in the twenty seventh stanza. • 45. Spreading Christianity in The Journey And Ordeal Of Cabeza... Book: The Journey And Ordeal Of Cabeza De Vaca Pg. 1 Author: Alvar Nunez Cabeza De Vaca ( The Spread of Christianity was the most significant purpose of Cabeza De Vaca s account) While many would say Cabeza De Vaca s exploration was built on struggle, death, and extreme suffering, I would say that Cabeza De Vaca s exploration although disastrous, was a complete success. The significant purpose was to gain insight on the different cultures of the Indians that Cabeza De Vaca had encountered, to find gold and signs of wealth, and also possible agricultural environments. But the overwhelming purpose that ties all these together is Cabeza De Vaca s understanding of the possibility for the spread of Christianity throughout the American southwest. One of the biggest obstacle s Cabeza De Vaca had to endure were the many Indian tribes he encountered. Some were friendly, many were violent, and others where just curious. It seemed from the very start Cabeza De Vaca was able to experience the many actions, emotions, and traditions that came with the Indian s, which helped him accommodate and grow closer to the different Indian tribes. Whether it was him observing the ignorance of the Avavares Indians in there way of telling time, the lack in understanding of the seasons, or the immoral practices of the Mariames and the Yguaces Indians killing young children and slaughtering men and women, Cabeza De Vaca experienced it all, and his greatest asset was his skills of ... • 46. Supreme Court Has Now Rendered A Landmark Decision On Art.356 BOMMAI CASE: The Supreme Court has now rendered a landmark decision on Art.356(1) in S.R. Bommai v. India. The case arose in the context of the following facts. In 1989, the Janata Dal Ministry headed by Shri S.R. Bommai was in office in Karnataka. A number of members defected from the party and there arose a question mark on the majority support in the House for the Bommai s Ministry. The Chief Minister proposed to the Governor that the Assembly session be called to test the strength of the Ministry on the floor of the alternative government but reported to the President that as Shri Bommai had lost the majority support in the House, and as no other party was in a position to form the government, action be taken under Art.356(1). Accordingly, the President issued the proclamation in April, 1989. Bommai challenged the validity of the proclamation before the Karnataka High Court through a writ petition on various grounds. The High Court ruled that the proclamation issued under Art.356(1) is not wholly outside the pole of judicial scrutiny; the satisfaction of the President under Art.356(1) which is a condition present for issue of the proclamation ought to be real and genuine satisfaction based on relevant facts and circumstances. The scope of judicial scrutiny is therefore confined to an examination whether the disclosed reasons bear any rational nexus to the action proposed or proclamation issued. The courts may examine as to whether the proclamation was based on a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 47. Spiritual Leader Peter At The Prison Gate Spiritual Leader Peter was to be placed on trial. He was asleep, fastened with two chains between two soldiers. Others stood guard at the prison gate. An Angel had come before peter in his prison cell. When he saw the Angel, he thought he was dreaming. They passed the guard and city gates and the angel left his presence. Peter came to the actual reality of knowing it was not a dream. Realizing this he said, The Lord has sent his angel and saved me from Herod and from what these people had planned to do to me. Peter was a leader in the church, so he had prayed for God to work things out. They were constantly in prayer. Once he was freed with the leading of the angel Peter took a visited to the home of Mary. While a group of people were gathered there praying, he knocked, and a servant came to answer the door. When she realized who it was, rather than open the door, she ran to let everyone else know Peter was there. When she told the people gathered together, they did not believe her. Meanwhile, Peter continued knocking on the door. When the door opened, they all were shocked to see Peter standing before them again. Jordan 2 Analysis So Peter finds his way to this home, and the Bible says that many were there gathered together and were praying. Here is a case in which prayer and living were simultaneous. They are still praying. God has already answered some of the prayers in the past. He has placed Peter in a test of obedience with prayer. The Bible teaches us to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 48. Outsourcing Of The United States According to Investopedia, outsourcing is a practice used by different companies to reduce costs by transferring portions of work to outside suppliers rather than completing it internally (Investopedia, n.d). Companies use outsourcing to reduce costs and improve productivity. In the 1970 s and 1980 s was when companies first began looking for alternatives to increase their profits and increase the production of their products (Narayanan, 2015). Products were becoming to expensive to make in the United States and other lesser developed countries were less expensive, and that is why the United States turned to China for production. There are lots of other reasons for outsourcing such as gaining access to new markets, gaining global knowledge, focusing on their core business practices, and being closer to their resources. Gaining access to new markets happens because the company is moving production abroad, and they are in a whole new area. When they begin production in this area, the people of that country are opened up to that new idea. Also gaining global knowledge is very similar to gaining access to new markets. With the company being in a new country they learn a lot about that country. They need to learn practices, customs, language, etc. If that company doesn t learn customs, beliefs, or practices then they can offend the citizens of that country, and then their company will not be as successful. If a company decides to outsource, they also can focus on their core ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
