The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao Essay
FUKГљ is an atavistic deadly curse that follows the De LeГіn family, and everything that can go
wrong for them does. However, I believe that the fukГє is only a consequence of their actions and a
way for them to rationalize their misfortunes. The characters are using fukГє as a crutch in place of
taking responsibilities for their own actions. This is because they don t want to accept the fact that
things don t always go the way they want them to. So they choose to blame the fukГє for making
their problems happen. So when fukГє strikes a mongoose appears it comes as a character of a

Irish Stereotypes in the 1800s
Irish Stereotyping In The Late 1800 s
Published in Puck, America s first successful comedic magazine containing several types of
cartoons, on June 26, 1889 a cartoon entitled The Mortar Of Assimilation And The One Element
That Just Won t Mix clearly shows an Irishman rebelling against the rest of the American crowd
with a knife in his hand, expressing violence, and possibly alcoholism. Through further research I
found that how poorly the Irish were treated during this time period. The cartoon The Mortar Of
Assimilation And The One Element That Just Won t Mix expresses the idea Irishmen just do not
belong in America, despite the several other races intertwined into our country. This cartoon brings
me to the question; Why? Why were the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Americans viewed Irish as alcoholics due to the drinking that is weaved into their culture and
ways of living. Much like our culture does today, Irish drank in several difference social settings,
although they did drink alcohol at someone s wake before the funeral, which may have been what
disgusted Americans the most. Americans saw alcohol has ruling over the Irish and they were
merely the slaves. One should also note, this was during the time of the ban of alcohol in the
United States, so to see one consuming alcohol at such high rates was highly alarming and it
would not be long for one to create a bad reputation because of something so simple. Due to this,
Americans also stereotyped the Irish to be unskilled and lazy, at times signs were even put into
windows stating things such as, Irish need not apply. At this point in history, Irish were viewed
much similarly to African Americans when it came to respect.
Over time, the Irish were able to keep their customs without encountering further confrontation, and
the United States was able to run as one country under many different religions and customs as it
does today. Catholics were able to run for office and Catholicism soon became one of the United
States top most common religions.
The Irish were looked down upon by Americans for three main reasons; they were stereotyped to be
violent, drunk, and had different religious views which were frowned upon by the Americans. The

Advantage Of Liberal Arts College
For those who want to further their schooling in a way that focuses on undergraduate studies and
creating a well rounded education a liberal arts college is the perfect opportunity to achieve a
higher education. Some of the oldest liberal arts colleges in the United States date back to the
1600s. There are many advantages to studying at a liberal arts college. A liberal arts education can
give students the opportunity to have a smaller environment and a well rounded education. The
smaller environment that a liberal arts collegeprovides to students is very helpful for a successful
college experience. A smaller number of undergrad students enrolled into one s college translates
to having smaller class sizes. Jessica Velasco explains, Average class sizes at liberal arts colleges
are usually less than 30 students (Velasco, College Raptor). The transition from small high school
classes to college is easier if the college classes are similar in size. This is especially helpful for
students who have trouble focusing and learn best in smaller environments. It is easier to get help
when necessary. Hand in hand with smaller class sizes is close relationships with professors.
Velasco illustrates, Classes, including introductory courses, are taught by professors at liberal arts
colleges... because each class is usually taught by a professor, this means they generally have the
opportunity to spend more quality time with their students, getting to know them, evaluating and
critiquing their work much more closely, and serving as mentors (Velasco, College Raptor). At
most universities lecture classes have hundreds of students. At those institutions, it is nearly
impossible to be on a first name basis with the professors. With a large number of students, there is
often no time to build relationships. The small environment that liberal arts colleges pride
themselves on allows easy access to professors. They are able to answer questions and personally
help their students. Finally, many liberal arts colleges have many student activities to take part in.
Liberal arts colleges usually have fewer student organizations and activities than larger universities,
but participation tends to be higher, Velasco writes. Time

The Killer Angels Chapter Summary
The Killer Angels tell about the Battle of Gettysburg. When this battle ended, 51,000 men were
dead, wounded, or missing. All the characters are based off of real historical figures. The author
uses the characters and the plot effectively to contribute to the theme. The soldiers of the
Confederacy and the Union tended to diminish each other. General Robert E. Lee, Colonel Joshua
L. Chamberlain, and General James Longstreetwere a few main characters throughout The Killer
Angels. Robert Lee is the commander of the Confederate Army. He has heart trouble which will
eventually kill him so he is at the end of his career. He holds the traditional way of combat. Joshua
Chamberlain has a different view than Lee and Longstreet. He left college at the... Show more

sense of revulsion that he feels at the sight of a black man. [A]wake all night in front of
Fredericksburg. We attacked in the afternoon, just at dusk, and the stone wall was aflame from
one end to the other, too much smoke, couldn t see, the attack failed, couldn t withdraw, lay

awful breeze: never, forever, never, forever. (Shaara, 125 ). This quote was spoken by
Chamberlain, it shows his impression of his early combat. He was a citizen rather than a career
soldier, unlike many other fighters. The professor argued with Chamberlain, saying that blacks are
subhuman. He disagrees with this accusation. However, when seeing the injured black man, he
notices what he thinks of as the man s animal like qualities and wonders if the professor s purported

Liberty and Paternalism Essay
LIBERTY AND PATERNALISM John Stuart Mill and Gerald Dworkin have distinctly opposing
views on legal paternalism in that Mill is adamantly against any form of paternalism, whereas
Dworkin believes that there do exist circumstances in which paternalism is justified. Both agree
that paternalism is justified when the well being of another person is violated or put at risk. Mill
takes on a utilitarian argument, explaining that allowing an individual to exercise his freedom of
free choice is more beneficial to society than deciding for him what is in his best interests.
Dworkin, on the other hand, feels that certain cases require the intervention of either society as a
whole or its individual members. He breaks Mill s argument down into two... Show more content on

When a young child is about to run across a busy street in order to chase his ball, the child s
parent, or any other bystander, is rightfully justified in physically stopping the child from
running into the street. This is so justified because at the time of giving chase to the ball, the
child is unaware of the potential consequences of running into a busy street. A large part to this
justification is the idea of future oriented consent, the concept that once the child grows up and
realizes the consequences of his chasing the ball, he will agree that the interference of an
outsider was justified. Another example for which this concept can be applied is the matter of
seat belts. The question of whether or not a person should be punished for not wearing a seat
belt, I believe, can be answered by comparing it to the previous example. If a person were to be
involved in a car accident and be seriously injured because he was not wearing a seat belt, he
would come to the realization that he should have been wearing it. At this point, he will realize
that his personal health is worth the inconvenience of putting on his seat belt. The fact that any
logical, rational person will come to this realization justifies the interference of an outside party,
the government in this example. If this person does not realize that his health and his life is worth
putting on a seat belt, it is safe to say that this person is illogical and

How To Evaluate New Orleans And Hurricane Katrina
Evaluating New Orleans and Hurricane Katrina
I. Introduction Of the several natural disasters that humanity has faced, Hurricane Katrina was one
of the deadliest; it caused a depressingly high death toll of 1,833. In addition to taking human lives,
Katrina caused massive economic destruction. In fact, it s the costliest natural disaster in US history
with damage worth $108 billion. In order to impart destruction of such magnitude, Katrina had to
be fearfully strong. The intensity of a hurricane is usually based on classification according to the
Saffir Simpson hurricane wind scale. This scale categorizes hurricanes by their maximum sustained
winds ranging from Category 1 to Category 5. When it comes to Hurricane Katrina, it s no surprise
that it was rated as a Category 5 hurricane. To get a feel for how strong such a hurricane might be,
it s important to know that Category 5 hurricanes have sustained winds greater than 157 mph. In
comparison, Katrina s highest sustained winds were calculated to be 175 mph. ... Show more

Unfortunately, the challenges that result from hurricanes are multifaceted. When large bodies of
water surround the area of impact, flooding becomes an additional cause for concern. For the city
of New Orleans, the primary goal was to prevent these floodwaters from breaching people s
homes. Such a task was, by no means, easy. The storm surge that resulted from Katrina s wrath
was 20 ft high. Instead of the expected outcome of holding back floodwaters, many of the levees
failed miserably. With nothing to stop the raging waters, much of the city was left vulnerable to the
flood and was consequently

Pakistan s Economic Performance oer the Last 20 Years
Pakistan s economic performance over the last 20 years
Introduction
PAKISTAN S RECENT HISTORY
In the last 20 years, Pakistan has oscillated between 3 personalities Benazir Bhutto, Nawaz Sharif,
and Gen. (retd.) Pervez Musharraf. The current President, Asif Zardari, it can be argued, is in power
mainly because he was the husband of the late Benazir Bhutto, although he has come into his own
over the last two years.
Benazir and Sharif were both Prime Minister for two terms each, with each ending the other s term,
citing incompetency and unfitness to rule. In October 1999, General Pervez Musharraf seized
control of the country and the focus of power in Pakistan shifted towards the President. In 2008, he
resigned after pressure from the newly elected government of the PPP the legacy of Zulfiqar Ali
Bhutto, Benazir Bhutto and now her husband, Asif Zardari.
While the political turmoil and uncertainty of the last two decades has left the public with
weakened wills and a spiteful distrust of politicians, the country as a whole moves ever on. The
purpose of this report is to examine the progress (or in some cases deterioration) of various
indicators of economic health; and in the limited understanding of the authors, present a view of
why the particular trend is seen.
INDICATORS WHAT WHY
Economic indicators are important statistics one can use to measure the economy, and in a sense

The aim of this essay is to discuss why romantic comedy is undeserving of its reputation for being
un feminist . This statement will be discussed by close analysis of two post 1990 Hollywood
romantic comedies such as Something s Gotta Give (Nancy Meyers, 2003, USA) and Bridget

Hilary Radner has noted Nancy Meyers as being neo feminist because of her view of
heterosexual men whom she often portrays as being highly disadvantaged up to the point of
suffering a disability and her obvious interest in older women who are portrayed as very
successful career women (2011). Her films which are targeting the female audience, as Radner
observes, are combining two major disabilities as impediments to love: masculinity and advancing
age. Meyer based her film Something s Gotta Give on her own experience as a singleton in her
fifties, making Diane Keaton an even bigger star persona who won a Golden Globe, an NBR Award
and also a Golden Satellite Award for her role in the film, as Erica. Keaton s character Erica
Barry is thin and fit with a natural look and mid length hair. When she appears in her date dress
which is a classic little black dress (LBD was highly popularized by Chanel) she catches the eye
of both Harry Sanborn (Jack Nicholson) and Julian Mercer (Keanu Reeves). Radner claims that
Erica functions as an alter ego of director Nancy Meyers whose stylistic choices somehow
displace Keaton s established persona, as Keaton herself stated Clearly, Erica is more Nancy
than me (Hilary Radner, 2011: 175). The film tells the story of Erica, a divorced playwright in her
fifties who falls in love with her daughter s much older boyfriend, Harry Sanborn who is a playboy
known for dating only young women. Doctor Julian

Effects Of Oppression On African American Teenagers
The factors of the effects of oppression in the lives of African American teenagers is the opposite of
the factors in which that would produce The American Dream . The restrictions and exclusions of
the government, history, and irrational mindsets has caused many African American teenagers to
depend on unorthodox alternatives for the use of spare time, making money, and the feeling of
acceptance. Oppression of African American teenagers has caused poor education, violence, gang
activity, broken or dysfunctional homes, and health issues. Hatred is another major factor of the
effects of oppression in the lives of African American teenagers. Oppression is also the cause of
civil wars, and a disunited nation. Oppression doesn t just effect the oppressed, it effects everything
around it including the oppressors. Due to the discrimination of African Americans, and oppression
resulting from it, the government, justice system, educational system, and society has made it clear
that African American teenagers obtaining a thorough and effective education is the least of their
concerns. It is almost as though African American teenagers are purposely being set up to fail. As
stated in The Oppression of Black People, The Crimes of This System and the Revolution we need
, Today the schools are more segregated than they have been since the 1960s with urban,
predominantly Black and Latino schools receiving fewer resources and set up to fail. These
schools more and more resemble prisons

Google Glass Essay
Google Glass is without a doubt a very strong and innovative product with a high potential for
growth. However, following the initial launch, negative perceptions of these augmented reality
glasses gave view to a few major issues holding them back from success. Many of these problems
occurred primarily due to lack of security and privacy. Concerns during the initial release were
caused by the fact that the wearer can film or take pictures with out the subject(s) knowing or
giving consent. As a result, negative consequences, such as speculation against Google, along with
customer assault and isolation began to make face. Customers were targeted and harassed for
supporting the product, which worked to both stunt market growth, and lower Google s reputation.
Not soon after, social media sites took wind of the escalating situation and assisted in a major
backlash against the new product. Overall, the failure of the Google Glass explorer program
directly resulted from the prevalence of these unforeseen privacy issues. Removing the camera
feature from the device would ultimately eradicate that concern, while they would continue to
provide all the other functions that wearables are known for. Unfortunately, this action would
diminish the devices value, market reaction would initially be negative, and ultimately sales may
not take off as planned. Without the ability to quickly snap a photo or video, the value proposition
of convenience is partially eliminated, and consumer

Discrimination And Discrimination In Society
Since the beginning of time people have discriminated against others. White people will look at
people of different races and think less of them. These people who discriminate think that they are
superior to them or they have more authority. Slavery was abolished in 1835 but that doesn t mean
people of color were treated any better. Every today there is still discrimination. Crooks symbolizes
the groups of people that are still discriminated against and this lack of power helps you understand
that racismstill exists today.
In every kind of job people of color are discriminated against. Maybe they weren t given the
promotion because of their skin color or they are paid less than their white coworkers. The
Washington post wrote an article about discrimination in Hollywood. Even though there are
these huge actors and celebrities in Hollywood they still get paid less than successful white
actors. Minorities make up more than 36 percent of the U.S. population but represented only 10
percent of lead characters in movies... (Hollywood s Race). Along as in regular everyday jobs
there is a pay gap. Compared to whites, African Americans are twice as likely to be unemployed,
and earn nearly 25 percent less when they are employed. (Discrimination) This is quite a very
large unemployment number, not only that but also a large gap in jobs you wouldn t even expect.
Now relating back to the book. Crooks is discriminated against in his job and even though this book

Representation of the Feminine in Select Ghost Stories of Ruskin Bond
Ruskin Bond is one of those rare authors whose writings have been loved and accepted by
readers of all ages and groups. His depiction of small town life in India and of ordinary
individuals struggling to make their lives and dreams worthwhile has an almost undeniable sense
of appeal and beauty. His stories usually reflect this simplicity and good humour that have come to
be associated with most of Bond s writing. Yet, there are certain aspects to his writing as it is true
of any other great writer that deal with deeper and darker themes even if they aren t immediately
apparent. In this paper an attempt has been made to analyse certain stories of the supernatural by
Bond in order to assess how the character of the female has been represented with a special
emphasis on examining an element of the sinister which seems to be associated with each of these
women. Whether as ghosts or as real, living individuals, these women exhibit a tendency to inflict
harm on other characters which marks them as being decisively dangerous. What this paper tries to
ascertain is whether these female characters can be simply branded as being evil or if there are
actual, justifiable reasons behind their actions which provokes them to act in the ways they do. The
study thus seeks to shed some light on the intentions and motivations of these characters who are
evidently more complex than they initially appear to be.

Last Day Of High School
The last day of my Early College High School (ECHS) 2017 year, was a day I will never forget. On
the last day of school, I got to drive my dad s truck; I remember telling myself I can t wait until I
get my own car, which is something I asked for on my Christmas list to Santa. I went to classes
ready to get my last final over with. The day went by pretty fast after the test, then we went to
lunch and then we had clubs. Since my club was not allowed to go to the gym, I stayed inside
with the Medical club. In the medical club, Cody gave a long presentation on the different
Affordable Care Acts (ACA) proposal, and we got into a debate which got me ready for the break
even more.
At the beginning of the break, I was excited to be out of school, I had made so many plans. I
made plans to go to Austin and go to the spray paint park, and travel to Louisiana to celebrate my
niece s first birthday, but all of my plans were ruined.
For the first week of my break, I was sick. I winded up catching both the flu and strep throat, I
thought my Christmas break would be ruined, but it wasn t. During the time that I was sick, I got to
plan which Christmas gifts to get my family members instead of waiting until the last moment, and
everyone winded up loving their gifts. Due to the fact of me being sick, I couldn t go anywhere;
which meant no chores, no being told to get out the house; I actually had time to relax. While
relaxing I caught on my Netflix shows and my sleep.

A Literary Analysis on How I Met My Husband by Alice Munro...
I read How I Met My Husband by Alice Munro. This is a short story told in the first person
narrative. The theme of this story is a simple, but good one. The theme is love. Or to put it in
broader terms, the theme could be described as while sometimes it may come from heartbreak,
fate can bring is to the person we are meant to love forever. When it comes to exploring the point
of view of this story, you can ask yourself a few questions. This story is told in the first person by
a teenage girl. What are the strengths and limitations of such a narrator? (cited in Clugston, 2010,
sec. 8.2, para. 203) The second question would be; Edie makes this statement in the opening of the

It s because of this very thing, we that can only take what she says about Chris with a grain of

initiates the action, and his appearing at the screen door while Edie is dressing up in Mrs.
Peebles clothes gives a jolting start to their relationship. What other means does Munro use to
advance the plot? (cited in Clugston, 2010, sec. 8.2, para. 203) We know the story is going to be
about how Edie meets her future husband. The reader starts the story off thinking that this pilot
could possibly be that man. Chris meets Edie when he catches her dressed up in Mrs. Peebles
dress. He tells her he thinks she is beautiful. He spent the summer complimenting her and making
little comments about wanting to see her again. I believe the only time in the story we hear of
the real Chris is when she surprises him with the cake and he angrily replies Come in . The next
thing Munro uses to advance the plot is Chris leaves town telling Edie I m going to write you a
letter. I ll tell you where I am and maybe you can come and see me. Would you like that? Okay
then. You wait. It is this conversation that leads to the next plot advancement; Edie sitting by the

In 1892 the new vice consul for the Benin river section Captain Henry Gallwey visited Benin and
signed a treaty which made Benin a British protectorate, but as far as the British were concerned the
treaty proved disappointing and by 1896 many British traders and officials were calling for military
intervention, although the foreign office seemed reluctant to do this.
On January 2nd 1897 the acting consul general of the protectorate James Phillips set off without

The Benin art works were brought back and sold to a variety of private collectors and museums
alike, including The Pitt Rivers Museum in Oxford and the British Museum. Competition to acquire
these unusual objects was fierce.
The view from Victorians concerning the artwork was that they were obtained from brutal and
unruly savages from Benin (The Times, 25th September 1897, p12) but it was also thought that the
quality and workmanship of the pieces was exceptional.
Originally when the pieces were put on display at museums such as The Pitt Rivers they were just
piled up in what seemed a chaotic manner in glass cabinets, not displayed in any order or reference
to religious or cultural beliefs, they were just grouped in terms of use with no thought to artistic
value.
In the British Museum the Benin plaques were originally displayed in an area known as the
Assyrian Basement that was not even known that well to the general public and have since shown
to have no relevance to the rest of the contents of that room. The storage of the pieces in that way
suggests that they were uncertain as to how to categorise these works of art.
In museums today various pieces are displayed in such a way as to show people that these pieces
are what they are and to explain their original uses etc. In Paris for example, a new museum was
built in 2006 called Quai Branly and it displayed a collection of Benin pieces including

But as the population of the students continue to grow, many school face difficulties in handling

Once they heard that the school uses a computerized enrollment system, it catches the attention of
the parents and they are willing to enroll their student in that school. Using a computer to
manipulate the school operations and transactions gives two main advantages: (1) the speed
accuracy and reliability of the transaction relatively increases; (2) the user (the person using the
computer) can directly communicate within the computer. The second advantage means the user
is allowed to use the system effectively, [Alter, 1991]. He / She can capture, transmit, store,
retrieve, manipulate and display data or student information which is needed to complete a
transaction with the enrollee or to perform tasks. This paper presents an inclusive use of
computer enrolling student especially in Cabanatuan City Science High School. Enrollment plays
a big part in every school; it is the root of all transaction within the school premise. Without a
good and manageable system, the school becomes weak to enroll many students. Especially in
Science High School, parents are looking forward for good education for their children. Using a

Title is French The Language of Love. Title translates to: The Beautiful Woman Without Mercy

The poem has a circular structure, repetition of the first knights words at the beginning and end of

Each stanza is labelled with roman numerals which the helps the story of the poem to be understood

has it all planned out.
The third to the eighth stanza of the poem are emotional and intense. They describe the knight and
women s meeting and mystify the attraction that appears to develop between them. There are also
semantic fields of nature and imagination in these stanzas.
Alliteration is used to emphasise the meaning the relish, it could be poison for the knight. The fact
that she gives him relish sweet , honey wild and manna dew suggests that maybe she is overdosing
the knight with her power and her supernatural forces.

normally, a fairy would have a grotto as her home place. This means the knight is being deceived;
the woman could be a monster or witch if she lives in a cave.
The woman obviously speaks French, the language of love which is the language strange . The
knight misreads the signals and misunderstands the language but he doesn t think he s wrong.
She found me roots of relish sweet,
And honey wild, and manna dew,
And sure in language strange she said
I love thee true .

In 1644 john Milton was attempting to preserve the books which were being destroyed through
censorship. He even said, He who destroys a good book, kills reason itself I agree with him.
The Government was pretty much censoring whatever they wanted and even arresting people
who didn t follow it exactly. And the Government was even invading people s privacy to check
their books and burning the books that weren t censored. John Milton, a writer himself, decided to
take a stand on what he believed was right and wrote an essay on his beliefs, along with proofs to
back himself up.
Milton was definitely against Censorship. I think he wanted to preserve the books and the ideas
of the people who wrote them. I also believe he wanted to see the book the way the person who
wrote it wished it to be seen. People s names were even being censored out of the books.
...books are not absolutely dead things, but do contain a potency of life in them to be as active as
that soul was whose progeny they are; nay, they do preserve as in a vial the purest efficacy and
extraction of that living intellect that bred them. I know they are as lively, and as vigorously
productive, as those fabulous

Tourette Syndrome Case Study
Ashley Batra Neurology 699
May 16, 2018
How does dysfunction in the cortico striato thalamic circuit contribute to the pathophysiology of
Tourette syndrome?
Tourette syndrome (TS) is a neuropsychiatric disorder involving motor and vocal tics. Typical
onset occurs around 5 7 years and it is associated with comorbid conditions such as OCD or
ADHD. There is evidence that TS is an inherited disorder as shown in familial and twin studies, but
the exact genetic pathology or etiology is still unknown. The neurobiology of TS appears to be
involved in cortico striatal thalamo cortical (CSTC) circuits, which connect parts of the frontal
cortex to subcortical structures. Tics are caused by focal excitatory abnormalities in the striatum
that lead to inhibition ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There were no differences in glial cells in terms of number, density, or morphology, nor were

greater by 122% in the GPi while a lower density of PV+ cells were found in all other
components of the basal ganglia, most notably the caudate, with a 51% reduction (Kalanithi et al,
2005). The total number of PV+ cells was 31% smaller in the GPe, and 129% greater in the GPi of
TS patients. In the caudate and putamen, the number of PV+ neurons were 54% and 40% fewer

Kids Must Do More Than Recite the Pledge of Allegiance Essay
Children in the United States go through many years of school reciting the Pledge of Allegiance,
but does it encourage loyalty in their nation or fear of it? The years that I spent in school reciting
the pledge did little to instill patriotism in me.
I do not even remember the words to it. Having a more hands on approach to community
involvement would be a better way to teach children pride for their country. Encourage children to
be concerned about their school, neighborhood, city and nation by letting them be a part of their
community. It is the job of not just schools, but also the parents to play a part in showing the next
generation what true devotion to their country is all about. True patriotism is the selfless giving of
oneself ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Reciting the pledge doesn t prove loyalty and refusal to recite it doesn t prove treason. We should
take it for granted that our children love their country and nurture those ideas rather than make
them recite an unnecessary, therefore meaningless pledge.
I wish that my parents and my school did more to show me what true patriotism was instead of just
teaching me to blindly recite the Pledge of Allegiance without asking why it was done, or what it
meant. I think that if they would have encouraged me to be a part of my community, I would
have more loyalty to my nation today. I would want the greater good for my country more so than
I do now. Community service is a fantastic technique to show children that there is more to their
world than their own backyard. Encourage them to get involved with or even plan community
events such as helping to paint over graffiti in their neighborhood, cleaning up trash after an event,
or help repair a run down playground. Children may complain about spending their Saturday
working rather than playing a video game or staring at a mind numbing television set all day, but
the lessons that they will learn and the way they feel after the event will be beyond compare.
Chances are, they will feel so strongly about their newly found pride in what they have
accomplished, they will continue to do bigger and better things to show pride in their community.
The next generation can make a vast change in the world with

Odysseus And Achilles Comparison Essay
One of the earliest examples of Greek epic heroes are those by Homer, The Iliad, and The
Odyssey, both surrounding their respectful heroes Achilles and Odysseus in the Trojan/greek war.
These heroes, though both by Homer, vary greatly in how the ideas of heroism has been
interpreted, though both still relevant heroes in their time. While both are considered great heroes
with vast similarities, they also couldn t be more different. Both men have personal loses, and are
tested by Gods throughout their heroic journeys. They both have high senses of their duties as a
hero, leader, and warrior. They also have outstanding courage, bravery, and compassion.
But, Achilles is a hero who s flaws impede him and his ability to act with nobility and integrity.

His has superhuman strength, and he is virtually invulnerable (other than his heel). Achilles epithet
throughout The Iliad is The Man Breaker, Because his main identifier is his abilities in the field.
Odysseus, in comparison, is a hero not only because he is a great warrior, but also because he has
wiles and courage. He is a self disciplined, and grows when he realizes he has done wrong. His very
first epithet in The Odyssey is Polutropos, which is meant by homer in both its literal Much

would come to mean a man who is many thinking, strategic, devious and wise. Odysseus has been
considered to be the first modern hero, because of the intellectual way in which he approaches
and evaluates a situation. Achilles never fore thinks his actions, and he will place fame over his

Designing A 3d Printing Business
Company Selection
The business that I choose to discuss is a 3D printing business which offers services to the medical
sector, looking at the background information I would be discussing the History of 3D Printing,
Medical Printing history ,
Introduction of 3D printing industry
3D printing, started in the late 80s by a company called Rapid Prototyping Technologies, although
there was a delay in the patent application of the original conceiver Dr. Kodama. However the roots
of 3D printing can be traced back to 1986 when the first patent was issued to Charles Hull who
invented his machine in 1983, and he called it stereolithography and he later went on to co found
3D system Corporation, which created the first 3D printer. Many other companies have since then
developed 3D printers for commercial applications.
3D printing or Additive Manufacturing is a process that takes digital input in the form of
Computer Aided Design (CAD) model and creates solid, three dimensional parts through an
additive, layer by layer process. It can also be defined as a manufacturing process by which objects
are created by fusing or depositing materials such as plastic, metal, living cells in layers to create a
3D item.
3D printers work like the inkjet printers but does not use ink, rather 3D printers deposit Materials
in layers to create a physical object from a digital file.
3D printers are been used in the following industries, Automotive, Aviation, Manufacturing,
Medical, and Jewelry. In

Metropolis Mise En Scene
Metropolis is a German silent film directed by Fritz Lang that was released in 1927. It has
received a 99% rating on Rotten Tomatoes...and it is a film that I absolutely cannot stand. Despite
having grown up in the digital age, my disdain for this film is not contributed to the fact that the
film is silent (although this may be an underlying factor that contributes to other reasons that I do
not like this movie). Rather I think my dislike for this filmis rooted in genre. Metropolisis a science
fiction film, and science fiction is not a genre that I particularly fancy. But there are elements of
mise en scene that also make me not like this film.
The film is set in the future, and yet the costumes of the actors do not reflect this whatsoever. The
actors are still in the attire that represents the time that the movie was made in 1927. But because
Metropolis was one of the first movies made within the science fiction genre, it may not have been
a custom to try and make clothing match the futuristic setting and scenery of the film. Another
reason I do not like the film in terms of aesthetics is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, this may have been done because the actors have to compensate for the fact that there
is no sound in the film. But as we discussed in class, acting styles have changed over time and
this may be why I dislike the acting in this film. But because I find the score in the film good at
expressing the emotions of characters and setting the tone of the movie, I do not think that the
way the actors act is necessary. While I do believe that the score did a good job at reflecting the
emotions of actors and the overall tone of the film, in general I find the score to be repetitive.
There are a couple of songs that are repeated throughout the film, which may be viewed as a
musical motif but to me the use of the same songs over and over again becomes

The Arab Spring Movement Of 2011
Section I: While the Arab Spring Movement of 2011 Didn t Culminate in the Ultimate Goal of
Achieving Real Democracy for Most States with the Exception of Tunisia, the Arab Spring Did
Disrupt the Status Quo and May Eventually be a Stepping Stone in Years Long Struggles for
Democracy.
Never known for being a pillar of peace, the Middle East has always been rife with turmoil.
However, in 2011 this turmoil was super charged, as several nations experienced civil uprising.
Citizens of Algeria, Iraq, Kuwait, Jordan, Morocco, and Oman, mobilized, forming massive
protests. Heads of state in Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, and Yemen were stripped of their powers and
removed. Even more developed nations like Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and Sudan experienced
protests, albeit minor during the Arab Spring. (The National.AE, 2011) Objectives in each area
varied, but civil liberties violations and economic grievances were primary concerns among
protestors. What s unique about the Arab Spring, is that activities and information was often shared
between participants via social media. Cheers and encouragement were also doled out via social
media by individuals and groups in other countries. (Kesselman, 2016 page 487)
In retrospect, it s easy to see that their objectives fell short of their intended goals. Be that as it
may, it would be wise to understand the reasoning behind their actions and take a closer look at
democracy and the expectations behind this powerful word. Furthermore, it s vital to study

Workplace Violence And Health Care
Workplace Violence in Health Care
Morgan L. Hofmeister
Baker University School of Nursing
Abstract
This research paper discusses workplace violence, specifically the nursing population. Using
results from previous research conducted, negative factors impacting a nurse and solutions to this
issue are explored. There is a lack of reporting causing this issue of workplace violence to be
difficult to determine interventions and bring about public awareness. Looking at the historical
background of workplace violence in health care settings, researching the emotional and physical
effects on nurses, discovering the effects on work competency, and uncovering the facts on federal
legislation of this issue warrants the importance ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Besides using governmental data and statistics to compile information regarding workplace
violence in health care settings, voluntary surveys are taken (Stokowski, 2010). These surveys and
reports of violence are usually unreliable due to the nurse s lack of ability to remember the
incident, fear of affecting patient satisfaction scores, uneducated on the reporting policy, or concern
for questioned competency (Stokowski, 2010). It is said that seventy percent of physical abuse
towards nurses are unreported and many nurses never seek treatment (Stokowski, 2010). The
hesitancy to report is sensible when incidents reported reviewed are often questioned by the nurse s
actions and solutions are addressed to prevent another occurrence (Stokowski, 2010). These
approaches administered by health care facilities imply that the nurse is at fault. Sadly, nurses are
often reprimanded or fired defending themselves against violence (Stokowski, 2010).
Physical Impact
An Emergency Nurses Association study found that, every week between eight to thirteen percent
of emergency department nurses are victims of physical violence (Trossman, p. 6, 2010). The
physical repercussions of violence can include a physical injury, anger, chronic pain, loss of sleep,
disability, muscle tension, anxiety, irritability, and nightmares (Gates,

Hope In The Movie Precious
2. Throughout watching the movie Precious, I picked up on an overall theme of hope. Precious

times get tough and she is being abused, Precious day dreams about her future and where she
wishes she could be in life. When is seems like life could not get any worse, Precious finds a way to
keep her head up! A question I have regarding this film, is where does Precious get her
willingness and drive to find a better life? She has no one to look up too. Her parents are
abusive, broke, and jobless. This is not he life Precious daydreams of. As viewers, we do not know
of anyone else in the movie that would provide Precious with hope. With the movie taking

Why God Can Exist By Alvin Plantinga s Modal Ontological...
A man can no more diminish God s glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out
the sun by scribbling the word, darkness on the walls of his cell. (Lewis, 2015) C.S. Lewis
For some, the soul symbolising purity and all qualities just, is strongly associated with the concept
of religion and a God. Religion for theists is crucial and forms a focal point of their beliefs. For
atheists, religion and a God in particular, are not worthwhile and are considered a waste of time.
(Blackburn, 1999) Hence, the concept of God and whether God exists has been argued and
questioned over thousands of years. Countless disputes and contradictory statements have occurred
with no such ultimate conclusion finalised.
The main crux of this essay is to show how God can exist by referring largely to Alvin Plantinga s
Modal Ontological Argument instead of the outdated, but necessary, Anselm Ontological Argument
and definitions. As well as these two forms of reasoning, I will include objections from Averroes,
Keene.............
It is often said that one believes in a God or a higher power, but the term belief is often vague
and confused. Simply put, beliefs are supposed to be true. This so called belief may be considered
true to you, but to another it is meaningless. When you regard something to be true, you need not
be actively reflecting on it. (Schwitzgebel, 2015) Hence, it is not obvious that religion is a matter
of truth and could be simply an immersion in a set

The Free Will in Meditations on First Philosophy by Descartes
I
In Meditations on First Philosophy, Descartes takes the reader through a methodological exercise in
philosophical enquiry. After stripping the intellect of all doubtful and false beliefs, he re examines
the nature and structure of being in an attempt to secure a universally valid epistemology free from
skepticism. Hoping for the successful reconciliation of science and theology, Descartes works to
reconstruct a new foundation of absolute and certain truth to act as a catalyst for future scientific
research by showing that a mathematical [rational objective] physics of the world is attainable by
creatures with our intellectual capacities and faculties (Shand 1994, p. ... Show more content on

The will, at its most basic, consists in saying yes or no to ideas or propositions. Descartes adopts
the position that the free will is independent of the deterministic and fundamental laws that govern
matter. Human behavior is neither dictated by mechanical compulsion, nor persuaded or coerced
by God, nor influenced by any external force to act in a predetermined manner. Descartes, in a bold
stroke, proclaims the divine grace of God along with natural knowledge actually increases and
strengthens human freedom, as opposed to restricting its effectiveness.
As a thinking entity, Descartes is a consciousness mind aware of the potential to engage in various
modes of existence. To the numerous operations of thought he includes doubting, understanding,
affirming, denying, willing, refusing, imagining, and sensing. As varied and manifold as these
operations appear, they are but expressions of two principal types of conscious activity, to which
Descartes eventually traces the nature of error. Thinking and reasoning, together with all belief in
general, depend upon the operation of the twin faculties knowing and choosing, or the free will.
Garrett Thompson writes:
Descartes divides all thoughts into two kinds: ideas

The mythologies of the world are filled with legends of superhuman creatures that roamed the lands
and pillaged the earth in ancient times. Are these characters ancient Frankenstein s imagined to

Louisiana Floods Case Study
Recommendations to Reduce Health Risk from Floods
The 2016 Louisiana floods were a reminder of the never ending fight to prevent floods in the
State. The risk of flooding will further be elevated as climatic related events, like sea level rise and
storms, continue to occur. After reviewing the literature, it seems as if the region is not and has
never been fit for human development, and no effort will eliminate the risk of flooding. However,
this does not change the fact that Louisiana is home to over 4 million people, a large portion of
which are poor. The State s public health infrastructure is not adequately prepared to meet needs of
the most vulnerable populations during such disasters. Therefore, adaptation measures must be ...

In contrast, individuals with more access to resources are often healthier and fair better during
storms (Lane, 2013). In addition to general flood adaptation measures, state and local governments
should focus on poverty reduction. This would take strategic interdisciplinary efforts of social
service agencies to build stronger communities, and promote opportunity. More specifically, these
efforts should improve access to education, health care, child care, transportation, job training, and
affordable housing.
Improve Communication of Health Risks
Poor and disabled populations are more likely to shelter in place instead of evacuating for
storms (Miller, 2014). Some individuals stay by choice, but others may not have the means to
leave. Unfortunately, there are severe health consequence, such as injury or death, for those who
stay behind. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (2017), flooding is
the leading cause of severe weather related deaths. Further, over 50 percent of all flood related
casualties occur when a vehicle is driven into flood water (CDC, 2017). The next highest
percentage of flood related casualties are caused by walking into or near flood waters. These types
of deaths are completely preventable with proper public communication on flood safety (Revere,
2011). State agencies should improve communication of health risks from flooding, particularly for

Negative Portrayals Of Single Parented Parents
Coming from a family with a single parent can become a problem within itself, but with only
having one parent, the child is faced with being an outcast and classified as different than the
rest of the children. When a parent comes from a bad past, society assumes the same for their
children. For a child of these type of parents, it is hard to get out of this situation and defy the
odds set on them by society. In television shows such as Weeds and Mom, there are many
examples of these portrayals of the parents and their children. Negative portrayals in television
shows of single parented families through comedic relief gives the children of these families a
negative mindset, while being compared to these poor depictions in these shows. A child that has
went through this traumatic experience will go through hard times, but will try to look at the
positive sides of things that they come to challenge with. In his book, Psychological well being and
quality of parenting among children of single parentfamily, Kiran Sahu stated that The
psychological well being includes meaning in life, absence of somatic symptoms, self esteem,
positive effect, daily activities, suicidal thoughts, personal control social support, absence of tension
and general efficiency (531). The television show, Weeds, focuses on a single mother, Nancy
Bloom, who has an early bad depiction in the show. After her husband, Judah, dies unexpectedly,
Nancy has to take the center position in her family. After becoming faced with financial problems
after her husband s death and dark past coming back to haunt the family, Nancy has to become a

STRATEGIC GEOMETRY
This is the only region in the world where so many combinations and permutations of two three

chessboard with all their complexities and variations.
introduction
The concept of strategic geometry comprises the notion that that the interactions and
interconnections between a number of political actors within a particular system of international

Geopolitical and politico economic factors have in some cases changed the content, but not the
form of the particular strategic configurations and in some cases however, we find both form and
content are changed. In my essay I will focus on this dual analysis of the content and form of the
major patterns of strategic geometry and their change over time from Cold War to post Cold War.
In order to assess the usefulness of the concept of strategic geometry, we must first see how well
the concept is expressed in the international relations of
Asia. Firstly I will briefly outline the general strategic concerns or tenets of the Cold War era, the
roles and interactions of the actors involved, and the major strategic geometric patterns this
produced. The second part of my essay will comprise an analysis of the evolution of the system, and
the tenets of the new post cold war system, drawing attention at the same time to the usefulness of
the concept of strategic geometry to explain the transition. One may even conceptualize pre Cold
War international relations in strategic geometric terms: the past is replete with instances of three
way interactions between Japan, China and the Soviet Union. According to Mandlebaum, the fate
of the region has for the last two centuries depended on the fate of three major powers China, Japan
and Russia, on the stability and tranquillity of their mutual

The Conflict Theory Of Social Groups
Intergroup Competition is the idea that social groups will extend from the desire for a group to
gain the scarce resources that exist (36 40). This idea is greatly supported by the segment on
affirmative action in the video (36 40). As said in the movie, the idea is that scholarship money
and grant money is a scarce resource when students decide to go to college (37 40). In this view,
the individuals who are against affirmative actionare competing for that scarce resource (36 40).
By using techniques like affirmative action and racial and/or ethnic based scholarships present
the subordinate group s strive for power, and the arguments against these resources are the
dominant group s attempt to maintain their power (36 40). Moreover, the strive to gain these
programs is not just for their own individual self interest, but is for the interest of their social
group as a whole to maintain the group s desires (36 40). It is in this belief that s the Realistic
Conflict Theory resides (36 40). In this, their exists the view that this conflict for scarce resources
subsequently produces prejudice, in which a privileged group has a sense of group position and
strives to protect it (36 40). This is shown in the video by the idea of reverse racism, in which the
dominant group tries to grain pity for their loss of domination by saying that affirmative action
gives African Americans an unfair advantage, thus racially profiling the subordinate group while
trying to maintain their

Innocence And The Death Penalty Analysis
In Richard Dieter s article Innocence and the Death Penalty: The Increasing Danger of Executing
the Innocent , he shares the mistakes and the dangers of the death penalty. Capital punishment had
gotten more and more controversial during the 90 s because of the risk of innocence. There was
no DNA evidence during this time to prove if a person was innocent or guilty, so when putting
them to death there was still a possibility that they were incorrect on the verdict. Today there are
DNA tests that help prove whether someone is innocent or guilty, but it cannot bring those back
who have been executed unjustly because of the death penalty. Lack of witnesses, the pressure
from the public to solve the case, and limited resources for the defendant were common obstacles
and quickened them to be charged as a suspect and then sentenced them to death based on the crime
they committed . As technology advanced with DNA evidence, some criminals who were on death

The American Civil Liberties Union believes that the death penalty is unjust and goes against a lot
of what America believes in. Under the Constitution, Americans are promised equal protection
under law and cruel punishment is banned. The ACLU feels that the death penalty is the polar
opposite from what is stated in the Constitution. Executions planned out spectacles and people
gather around to witness a ceremonial killing. They don t believe the state should have the authority
or right to end a human life. Capital punishment is also very expensive. This costs taxpayers more

Transportation and How it Affects Logistics
Transportation is one of the largest industry in the world. It is the most costly and time consuming
of the supply chain. Transportation refers to the movement of a product from one destination to
another. This process begins from the supply chain to the consumer, for as we know that products
are rarely produced in the same location. We as people depend on transportation. Because it moves
our goods and it moves us as a people from one place to another.
Transportation is a key element in the logistic chain. It joins together those components that are
considered to be separated. In order for transportation and logistics to work together successfully
there must be good management between them. It plays a major role in connecting it all together.
Supply chain management is defined as a continuously evolving management philosophy that seeks
to unify the collective productive competencies and resources of the business functions found both
within the enterprise and outside in the firm s allied business partners located along intersecting
supply channels into highly competitive, customer enriching supply system focused on developing
innovative solutions and synchronizing the flow of marketplace products, services, and information
to create unique, individualized sources of customer value (Ross, 1998).
SCM can be divided into three main groups: purchase, manufacture, and transport (Thomas et al.,
1996). The focus is on transportation. There are different modes of transportation.

Different Molarities Of Hydrochloric Acid On Marble
The Analyzation of the Different Molarities of Hydrochloric Acid on Marble
Authors
Shimi, Jamilah.
Introduction
The rate of a reaction is the speed at which the chemical reaction is taking place (Merriam
Webster). There are many factors that can affect the rate of a reaction, such as adding heat to speed
up the reaction rate, removing heat to slow it down, change in concentration, and the particle size.
A reversible reaction is a reaction in which reactants form products. This theory was initially
introduced by French chemist Claude Louis Berthollet in 1803 (Encyclopedia Britannica). If a
reaction is in equilibrium, then it is making products and reactants at the same time. Le Chatlier s
Principle can be used to determine the effect of changes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

acid concentration can change the outcome. Ways the experiment can be furthered are using an

much more than just a structure. Both basilicas tell a story about not just the architects and their

Sagrada Familia and St. Peter s Basilica are not often compared due to the time in which they
were built, as well as due to their different styles of art and architecture. However, despite their

PREDATOR PREY RELATIONS LAB Background Research: Predators and prey are organisms
that interrelate, and they can influence on another s success in reproduction. Predators are
organisms that consume other organisms their prey. These two organisms evolve together. They
live in an environment where they must develop certain adaptations to survive. When an
adaptation is developed, it gives an organism certain physical characteristics that create an
advantage for survival and can come to dominate in a population. An adaptation aids survival by

Do not hesitate to intrude, any hungry natural predator would not. Hunting time will be 5

must step out of the playing area for fifteen seconds. When told to stop, each student will tally up
his kills . If a predator is in the process of capturing a prey when told to stop, he must drop it. 6.
Repeat this process for each generation and make the proper adjustments required for each. 7.
At the end of the lab, share your data with the class and add up the number of prey killed.
Observations: In certain parts of the field, the grass was very tall and the prey that were in that
area were very difficult to find. Because of this many predators ignored the grassy areas which
caused a lot of competition for prey in the other areas of the field. Certain prey such as the corn
was easily concealed in the grass because of its small size. However, in the dirt area, the color of
the corn really made it stand out. In the dirt area of the field, the pinto beans were concealed
because its camouflage characteristics allowed it blended in with the dirt, but it stuck out in the

Innovating a New Religious Experience: The Emergence of Biblical Pictorial Narratives During the
Renaissance
Spanning the 14th to 17th centuries, the Renaissance was an era of European history that saw
immense artistic and cultural innovation. Aptly named rebirth, the Renaissance was a revival of
Roman classicism and humanism. Inspired movements by the Church to humanize Christ and
encourage religious meditation led to the development of narrative artwork, pieces designed to
draw in viewers and invoke emotional participation in the depicted biblical scenes. To an extent, the
pictorial narratives served to expand the word of God to the illiterate. Nevertheless, the main

Illustrated are the three magi presenting the baby Jesus with a procession of lavish gifts. The
opulently detailed scene expands upon the tale as presented in the gospel according to Matthew,
which simply describes the three kings elation at having found the newborn child and their gifting
of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Fabriano embellishes the scene, portraying a massive procession
of luxurious gifts carried by men in extravagant garb, as well as horses, oxen, exotic birds, even a
hunting dog. The magi are shown in exotic and luxurious attire rather than ancient robes,
emblematic of the opulent Gothic style combined with Renaissance elegance. Viewers are
transported into the scene by Fabriano s characters, who stand in elegant contrapposto. Some even
face away from the viewer, which, in conjunction with the verisimilitude of the work, gives the
feeling of being physically present in the scene. Fabriano invokes a juxtaposition of emotions in the
smaller stories he tells, from disdain for the pair of maid servants tactlessly examining the gift from
the first magus, to concern for the traveller being accosted by thieves, to even humorous excitement
at the sight of a leopard preparing to pounce on a deer. The immense amount of detailing and
smaller stories presented within the frame encourages beholders to spend longer in examining the
piece, challenging the audience to find the hidden Easter

Adam Smith s Economic Philosophy
If I was to create the perfect society today, I would use Adam Smith s economic philosophy. Adam
Smith is known today as a modern philosopher. In order for a society to prosper, Smith believed
that their economy would have to function as a capitalist economy. The perfect, most efficient,
society would include specifically Smith s capitalist ideas of the division of labor, the sufficient pay
of workers, and would not include the use of slavery. These ideas will make the perfect society
prosper.
The most important component of having the perfect, most efficient society, would be the division
of labor. The division of labor consists of one person doing one small task, another person doing
another small task, and other workers continuing the same process until the final product is
complete. An example of this would be the use of an assembly line while making pins, as Smith
mentions in his book An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations. Smith
explains that the larger pin manufacture he saw with many workers, was more efficient than the
small manufacture of only ten employed workers who could make upwards of forty eight thousand
pins in a day (Smith, 4). Smith then goes on to explain that, But if they had all wrought separately
and independently...in consequence of a proper division and combination of their different
operations (Smith, 4 5). Smith is saying that the workers could have made more than forty eight
thousand pins in a day if they divided there

  • 2. The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao Essay FUKГљ is an atavistic deadly curse that follows the De LeГіn family, and everything that can go wrong for them does. However, I believe that the fukГє is only a consequence of their actions and a way for them to rationalize their misfortunes. The characters are using fukГє as a crutch in place of taking responsibilities for their own actions. This is because they don t want to accept the fact that things don t always go the way they want them to. So they choose to blame the fukГє for making their problems happen. So when fukГє strikes a mongoose appears it comes as a character of a guardian angel with a sanguine presence. A mongoose is a weasel like animal that appears in the near death experiences of the characters. When it comes it shows a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Who I think the fukГє was cast upon her from the consequences from her ancestors and her father s actions. Being abused as a child and nobody wanting her because of her skin color and loosing her parents and siblings in murder, and yet she didn t do anything to deserve this. As teen years met Belicia she gained the privilege to make decisions for her self. Until then she suffers the fukГє from her own actions. Moving through the generation fukГє strikes Belicia s son Oscar after he made the decision to break one girl s heart because he was dating two girls contemporaneously. In return he got his heart broken by the girl he chose to stay with and then everything went downhill for Oscar. Gaining weight, and casting every one away Oscar lost his popularity and became a pathetic nobody with suicidal thoughts. • 3. Irish Stereotypes in the 1800s Irish Stereotyping In The Late 1800 s Published in Puck, America s first successful comedic magazine containing several types of cartoons, on June 26, 1889 a cartoon entitled The Mortar Of Assimilation And The One Element That Just Won t Mix clearly shows an Irishman rebelling against the rest of the American crowd with a knife in his hand, expressing violence, and possibly alcoholism. Through further research I found that how poorly the Irish were treated during this time period. The cartoon The Mortar Of Assimilation And The One Element That Just Won t Mix expresses the idea Irishmen just do not belong in America, despite the several other races intertwined into our country. This cartoon brings me to the question; Why? Why were the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Americans viewed Irish as alcoholics due to the drinking that is weaved into their culture and ways of living. Much like our culture does today, Irish drank in several difference social settings, although they did drink alcohol at someone s wake before the funeral, which may have been what disgusted Americans the most. Americans saw alcohol has ruling over the Irish and they were merely the slaves. One should also note, this was during the time of the ban of alcohol in the United States, so to see one consuming alcohol at such high rates was highly alarming and it would not be long for one to create a bad reputation because of something so simple. Due to this, Americans also stereotyped the Irish to be unskilled and lazy, at times signs were even put into windows stating things such as, Irish need not apply. At this point in history, Irish were viewed much similarly to African Americans when it came to respect. Over time, the Irish were able to keep their customs without encountering further confrontation, and the United States was able to run as one country under many different religions and customs as it does today. Catholics were able to run for office and Catholicism soon became one of the United States top most common religions. The Irish were looked down upon by Americans for three main reasons; they were stereotyped to be violent, drunk, and had different religious views which were frowned upon by the Americans. • 4. Advantage Of Liberal Arts College For those who want to further their schooling in a way that focuses on undergraduate studies and creating a well rounded education a liberal arts college is the perfect opportunity to achieve a higher education. Some of the oldest liberal arts colleges in the United States date back to the 1600s. There are many advantages to studying at a liberal arts college. A liberal arts education can give students the opportunity to have a smaller environment and a well rounded education. The smaller environment that a liberal arts collegeprovides to students is very helpful for a successful college experience. A smaller number of undergrad students enrolled into one s college translates to having smaller class sizes. Jessica Velasco explains, Average class sizes at liberal arts colleges are usually less than 30 students (Velasco, College Raptor). The transition from small high school classes to college is easier if the college classes are similar in size. This is especially helpful for students who have trouble focusing and learn best in smaller environments. It is easier to get help when necessary. Hand in hand with smaller class sizes is close relationships with professors. Velasco illustrates, Classes, including introductory courses, are taught by professors at liberal arts colleges... because each class is usually taught by a professor, this means they generally have the opportunity to spend more quality time with their students, getting to know them, evaluating and critiquing their work much more closely, and serving as mentors (Velasco, College Raptor). At most universities lecture classes have hundreds of students. At those institutions, it is nearly impossible to be on a first name basis with the professors. With a large number of students, there is often no time to build relationships. The small environment that liberal arts colleges pride themselves on allows easy access to professors. They are able to answer questions and personally help their students. Finally, many liberal arts colleges have many student activities to take part in. Liberal arts colleges usually have fewer student organizations and activities than larger universities, but participation tends to be higher, Velasco writes. Time ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Killer Angels Chapter Summary The Killer Angels tell about the Battle of Gettysburg. When this battle ended, 51,000 men were dead, wounded, or missing. All the characters are based off of real historical figures. The author uses the characters and the plot effectively to contribute to the theme. The soldiers of the Confederacy and the Union tended to diminish each other. General Robert E. Lee, Colonel Joshua L. Chamberlain, and General James Longstreetwere a few main characters throughout The Killer Angels. Robert Lee is the commander of the Confederate Army. He has heart trouble which will eventually kill him so he is at the end of his career. He holds the traditional way of combat. Joshua Chamberlain has a different view than Lee and Longstreet. He left college at the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He reminiscences about a discussion he had with a southern professor. This is evident that he himself if divided. He has the belief that black deserve to be free. Chamberlain is troubled by the sense of revulsion that he feels at the sight of a black man. [A]wake all night in front of Fredericksburg. We attacked in the afternoon, just at dusk, and the stone wall was aflame from one end to the other, too much smoke, couldn t see, the attack failed, couldn t withdraw, lay there all night in the dark, in the cold among the wounded and dying. Piled up bodies in front of you to catch the bullets, using the dead for a shield; remember the sound? Of bullets in dead bodies? . . . Remember the flap of a torn curtain in a blasted window, fragment whispering in that awful breeze: never, forever, never, forever. (Shaara, 125 ). This quote was spoken by Chamberlain, it shows his impression of his early combat. He was a citizen rather than a career soldier, unlike many other fighters. The professor argued with Chamberlain, saying that blacks are subhuman. He disagrees with this accusation. However, when seeing the injured black man, he notices what he thinks of as the man s animal like qualities and wonders if the professor s purported subhuman view is ... • 6. Liberty and Paternalism Essay LIBERTY AND PATERNALISM John Stuart Mill and Gerald Dworkin have distinctly opposing views on legal paternalism in that Mill is adamantly against any form of paternalism, whereas Dworkin believes that there do exist circumstances in which paternalism is justified. Both agree that paternalism is justified when the well being of another person is violated or put at risk. Mill takes on a utilitarian argument, explaining that allowing an individual to exercise his freedom of free choice is more beneficial to society than deciding for him what is in his best interests. Dworkin, on the other hand, feels that certain cases require the intervention of either society as a whole or its individual members. He breaks Mill s argument down into two... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When a young child is about to run across a busy street in order to chase his ball, the child s parent, or any other bystander, is rightfully justified in physically stopping the child from running into the street. This is so justified because at the time of giving chase to the ball, the child is unaware of the potential consequences of running into a busy street. A large part to this justification is the idea of future oriented consent, the concept that once the child grows up and realizes the consequences of his chasing the ball, he will agree that the interference of an outsider was justified. Another example for which this concept can be applied is the matter of seat belts. The question of whether or not a person should be punished for not wearing a seat belt, I believe, can be answered by comparing it to the previous example. If a person were to be involved in a car accident and be seriously injured because he was not wearing a seat belt, he would come to the realization that he should have been wearing it. At this point, he will realize that his personal health is worth the inconvenience of putting on his seat belt. The fact that any logical, rational person will come to this realization justifies the interference of an outside party, the government in this example. If this person does not realize that his health and his life is worth putting on a seat belt, it is safe to say that this person is illogical and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. How To Evaluate New Orleans And Hurricane Katrina Evaluating New Orleans and Hurricane Katrina I. Introduction Of the several natural disasters that humanity has faced, Hurricane Katrina was one of the deadliest; it caused a depressingly high death toll of 1,833. In addition to taking human lives, Katrina caused massive economic destruction. In fact, it s the costliest natural disaster in US history with damage worth $108 billion. In order to impart destruction of such magnitude, Katrina had to be fearfully strong. The intensity of a hurricane is usually based on classification according to the Saffir Simpson hurricane wind scale. This scale categorizes hurricanes by their maximum sustained winds ranging from Category 1 to Category 5. When it comes to Hurricane Katrina, it s no surprise that it was rated as a Category 5 hurricane. To get a feel for how strong such a hurricane might be, it s important to know that Category 5 hurricanes have sustained winds greater than 157 mph. In comparison, Katrina s highest sustained winds were calculated to be 175 mph. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Unfortunately, the challenges that result from hurricanes are multifaceted. When large bodies of water surround the area of impact, flooding becomes an additional cause for concern. For the city of New Orleans, the primary goal was to prevent these floodwaters from breaching people s homes. Such a task was, by no means, easy. The storm surge that resulted from Katrina s wrath was 20 ft high. Instead of the expected outcome of holding back floodwaters, many of the levees failed miserably. • 8. Pakistan s Economic Performance oer the Last 20 Years Pakistan s economic performance over the last 20 years Introduction PAKISTAN S RECENT HISTORY In the last 20 years, Pakistan has oscillated between 3 personalities Benazir Bhutto, Nawaz Sharif, and Gen. (retd.) Pervez Musharraf. The current President, Asif Zardari, it can be argued, is in power mainly because he was the husband of the late Benazir Bhutto, although he has come into his own over the last two years. Benazir and Sharif were both Prime Minister for two terms each, with each ending the other s term, citing incompetency and unfitness to rule. In October 1999, General Pervez Musharraf seized control of the country and the focus of power in Pakistan shifted towards the President. In 2008, he resigned after pressure from the newly elected government of the PPP the legacy of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, Benazir Bhutto and now her husband, Asif Zardari. While the political turmoil and uncertainty of the last two decades has left the public with weakened wills and a spiteful distrust of politicians, the country as a whole moves ever on. The purpose of this report is to examine the progress (or in some cases deterioration) of various indicators of economic health; and in the limited understanding of the authors, present a view of why the particular trend is seen. INDICATORS WHAT WHY Economic indicators are important statistics one can use to measure the economy, and in a sense get an overview of the current state of progress or regress, whichever may be the case. Screen Women Essay Romantic comedy is undeserving of its reputation for being un feminist , since it holds a critical light up to romantic bargaining, the sexual economy and shifting cultural standards . Discuss this statement in relation to two post 1990 Hollywood romantic comedies. The aim of this essay is to discuss why romantic comedy is undeserving of its reputation for being un feminist . This statement will be discussed by close analysis of two post 1990 Hollywood romantic comedies such as Something s Gotta Give (Nancy Meyers, 2003, USA) and Bridget Jones s Diary (Sharon Maguire, 2001, UK). Romantic comedy films which are also known as romcoms , are a sub genre of comedy films and romantic films which can be traced back from the screwball ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Hilary Radner has noted Nancy Meyers as being neo feminist because of her view of heterosexual men whom she often portrays as being highly disadvantaged up to the point of suffering a disability and her obvious interest in older women who are portrayed as very successful career women (2011). Her films which are targeting the female audience, as Radner observes, are combining two major disabilities as impediments to love: masculinity and advancing age. Meyer based her film Something s Gotta Give on her own experience as a singleton in her fifties, making Diane Keaton an even bigger star persona who won a Golden Globe, an NBR Award and also a Golden Satellite Award for her role in the film, as Erica. Keaton s character Erica Barry is thin and fit with a natural look and mid length hair. When she appears in her date dress which is a classic little black dress (LBD was highly popularized by Chanel) she catches the eye of both Harry Sanborn (Jack Nicholson) and Julian Mercer (Keanu Reeves). Radner claims that Erica functions as an alter ego of director Nancy Meyers whose stylistic choices somehow displace Keaton s established persona, as Keaton herself stated Clearly, Erica is more Nancy than me (Hilary Radner, 2011: 175). The film tells the story of Erica, a divorced playwright in her fifties who falls in love with her daughter s much older boyfriend, Harry Sanborn who is a playboy known for dating only young women. • 10. Effects Of Oppression On African American Teenagers The factors of the effects of oppression in the lives of African American teenagers is the opposite of the factors in which that would produce The American Dream . The restrictions and exclusions of the government, history, and irrational mindsets has caused many African American teenagers to depend on unorthodox alternatives for the use of spare time, making money, and the feeling of acceptance. Oppression of African American teenagers has caused poor education, violence, gang activity, broken or dysfunctional homes, and health issues. Hatred is another major factor of the effects of oppression in the lives of African American teenagers. Oppression is also the cause of civil wars, and a disunited nation. Oppression doesn t just effect the oppressed, it effects everything around it including the oppressors. Due to the discrimination of African Americans, and oppression resulting from it, the government, justice system, educational system, and society has made it clear that African American teenagers obtaining a thorough and effective education is the least of their concerns. It is almost as though African American teenagers are purposely being set up to fail. As stated in The Oppression of Black People, The Crimes of This System and the Revolution we need , Today the schools are more segregated than they have been since the 1960s with urban, predominantly Black and Latino schools receiving fewer resources and set up to fail. • 11. Google Glass Essay Google Glass is without a doubt a very strong and innovative product with a high potential for growth. However, following the initial launch, negative perceptions of these augmented reality glasses gave view to a few major issues holding them back from success. Many of these problems occurred primarily due to lack of security and privacy. Concerns during the initial release were caused by the fact that the wearer can film or take pictures with out the subject(s) knowing or giving consent. As a result, negative consequences, such as speculation against Google, along with customer assault and isolation began to make face. Customers were targeted and harassed for supporting the product, which worked to both stunt market growth, and lower Google s reputation. Not soon after, social media sites took wind of the escalating situation and assisted in a major backlash against the new product. Overall, the failure of the Google Glass explorer program directly resulted from the prevalence of these unforeseen privacy issues. Removing the camera feature from the device would ultimately eradicate that concern, while they would continue to provide all the other functions that wearables are known for. Unfortunately, this action would diminish the devices value, market reaction would initially be negative, and ultimately sales may not take off as planned. These people who discriminate think that they are superior to them or they have more authority. Slavery was abolished in 1835 but that doesn t mean people of color were treated any better. • 13. Representation Of The Feminine Of Select Ghost Stories Of... Representation of the Feminine in Select Ghost Stories of Ruskin Bond Ruskin Bond is one of those rare authors whose writings have been loved and accepted by readers of all ages and groups. His depiction of small town life in India and of ordinary individuals struggling to make their lives and dreams worthwhile has an almost undeniable sense of appeal and beauty. His stories usually reflect this simplicity and good humour that have come to be associated with most of Bond s writing. Yet, there are certain aspects to his writing as it is true of any other great writer that deal with deeper and darker themes even if they aren t immediately apparent. In this paper an attempt has been made to analyse certain stories of the supernatural by Bond in order to assess how the character of the female has been represented with a special emphasis on examining an element of the sinister which seems to be associated with each of these women. Whether as ghosts or as real, living individuals, these women exhibit a tendency to inflict harm on other characters which marks them as being decisively dangerous. What this paper tries to ascertain is whether these female characters can be simply branded as being evil or if there are actual, justifiable reasons behind their actions which provokes them to act in the ways they do. The study thus seeks to shed some light on the intentions and motivations of these characters who are evidently more complex than they initially appear to be. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

On the last day of school, I got to drive my dad s truck; I remember telling myself I can t wait until I get my own car, which is something I asked for on my Christmas list to Santa. I went to classes ready to get my last final over with. The day went by pretty fast after the test, then we went to lunch and then we had clubs. Since my club was not allowed to go to the gym, I stayed inside with the Medical club. In the medical club, Cody gave a long presentation on the different Affordable Care Acts (ACA) proposal, and we got into a debate which got me ready for the break even more. At the beginning of the break, I was excited to be out of school, I had made so many plans. I made plans to go to Austin and go to the spray paint park, and travel to Louisiana to celebrate my niece s first birthday, but all of my plans were ruined. For the first week of my break, I was sick. I winded up catching both the flu and strep throat, I thought my Christmas break would be ruined, but it wasn t. During the time that I was sick, I got to plan which Christmas gifts to get my family members instead of waiting until the last moment, and everyone winded up loving their gifts. Due to the fact of me being sick, I couldn t go anywhere; which meant no chores, no being told to get out the house; I actually had time to relax. • 15. A Literary Analysis on How I Met My Husband by Alice Munro... I read How I Met My Husband by Alice Munro. This is a short story told in the first person narrative. The theme of this story is a simple, but good one. The theme is love. Or to put it in broader terms, the theme could be described as while sometimes it may come from heartbreak, fate can bring is to the person we are meant to love forever. When it comes to exploring the point of view of this story, you can ask yourself a few questions. This story is told in the first person by a teenage girl. What are the strengths and limitations of such a narrator? What other means does Munro use to advance the plot? (cited in Clugston, 2010, sec. 8.2, para. 203) We know the story is going to be about how Edie meets her future husband. The reader starts the story off thinking that this pilot could possibly be that man. Chris meets Edie when he catches her dressed up in Mrs. Peebles dress. He tells her he thinks she is beautiful. He spent the summer complimenting her and making little comments about wanting to see her again. I believe the only time in the story we hear of the real Chris is when she surprises him with the cake and he angrily replies Come in . The next thing Munro uses to advance the plot is Chris leaves town telling Edie I m going to write you a letter. I ll tell you where I am and maybe you can come and see me. Would you like that? Okay then. You wait. It is this conversation that leads to the next plot advancement; Edie sitting by the mailbox every day. When Edie begins waiting for the mail every day, she meets the mailman. The view from Victorians concerning the artwork was that they were obtained from brutal and unruly savages from Benin (The Times, 25th September 1897, p12) but it was also thought that the quality and workmanship of the pieces was exceptional. Originally when the pieces were put on display at museums such as The Pitt Rivers they were just piled up in what seemed a chaotic manner in glass cabinets, not displayed in any order or reference to religious or cultural beliefs, they were just grouped in terms of use with no thought to artistic value. In the British Museum the Benin plaques were originally displayed in an area known as the Assyrian Basement that was not even known that well to the general public and have since shown to have no relevance to the rest of the contents of that room. The storage of the pieces in that way suggests that they were uncertain as to how to categorise these works of art. The third to the eighth stanza of the poem are emotional and intense. They describe the knight and women s meeting and mystify the attraction that appears to develop between them. There are also semantic fields of nature and imagination in these stanzas. Alliteration is used to emphasise the meaning the relish, it could be poison for the knight. The fact that she gives him relish sweet , honey wild and manna dew suggests that maybe she is overdosing the knight with her power and her supernatural forces. Never known for being a pillar of peace, the Middle East has always been rife with turmoil. However, in 2011 this turmoil was super charged, as several nations experienced civil uprising. Citizens of Algeria, Iraq, Kuwait, Jordan, Morocco, and Oman, mobilized, forming massive protests. Heads of state in Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, and Yemen were stripped of their powers and removed. Even more developed nations like Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and Sudan experienced protests, albeit minor during the Arab Spring. What s unique about the Arab Spring, is that activities and information was often shared between participants via social media. Cheers and encouragement were also doled out via social media by individuals and groups in other countries. Lewis For some, the soul symbolising purity and all qualities just, is strongly associated with the concept of religion and a God. Religion for theists is crucial and forms a focal point of their beliefs. For atheists, religion and a God in particular, are not worthwhile and are considered a waste of time. (Blackburn, 1999) Hence, the concept of God and whether God exists has been argued and questioned over thousands of years. Countless disputes and contradictory statements have occurred with no such ultimate conclusion finalised. The main crux of this essay is to show how God can exist by referring largely to Alvin Plantinga s Modal Ontological Argument instead of the outdated, but necessary, Anselm Ontological Argument and definitions. As well as these two forms of reasoning, I will include objections from Averroes, Keene............. It is often said that one believes in a God or a higher power, but the term belief is often vague and confused. Simply put, beliefs are supposed to be true. This so called belief may be considered true to you, but to another it is meaningless. When you regard something to be true, you need not be actively reflecting on it. (Schwitzgebel, 2015) Hence, it is not obvious that religion is a matter of truth and could be simply an immersion in a set ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Free Will in Meditations on First Philosophy by Descartes I In Meditations on First Philosophy, Descartes takes the reader through a methodological exercise in philosophical enquiry. After stripping the intellect of all doubtful and false beliefs, he re examines the nature and structure of being in an attempt to secure a universally valid epistemology free from skepticism. Hoping for the successful reconciliation of science and theology, Descartes works to reconstruct a new foundation of absolute and certain truth to act as a catalyst for future scientific research by showing that a mathematical [rational objective] physics of the world is attainable by creatures with our intellectual capacities and faculties (Shand 1994, p. ... Descartes, in a bold stroke, proclaims the divine grace of God along with natural knowledge actually increases and strengthens human freedom, as opposed to restricting its effectiveness. As a thinking entity, Descartes is a consciousness mind aware of the potential to engage in various modes of existence. To the numerous operations of thought he includes doubting, understanding, affirming, denying, willing, refusing, imagining, and sensing. As varied and manifold as these operations appear, they are but expressions of two principal types of conscious activity, to which Descartes eventually traces the nature of error. Negative Portrayals Of Single Parented Parents Coming from a family with a single parent can become a problem within itself, but with only having one parent, the child is faced with being an outcast and classified as different than the rest of the children. When a parent comes from a bad past, society assumes the same for their children. For a child of these type of parents, it is hard to get out of this situation and defy the odds set on them by society. In television shows such as Weeds and Mom, there are many examples of these portrayals of the parents and their children. In my essay I will focus on this dual analysis of the content and form of the major patterns of strategic geometry and their change over time from Cold War to post Cold War. In order to assess the usefulness of the concept of strategic geometry, we must first see how well the concept is expressed in the international relations of Asia. Firstly I will briefly outline the general strategic concerns or tenets of the Cold War era, the roles and interactions of the actors involved, and the major strategic geometric patterns this produced. The second part of my essay will comprise an analysis of the evolution of the system, and the tenets of the new post cold war system, drawing attention at the same time to the usefulness of the concept of strategic geometry to explain the transition. One may even conceptualize pre Cold War international relations in strategic geometric terms: the past is replete with instances of three way interactions between Japan, China and the Soviet Union. • 37. The Conflict Theory Of Social Groups Intergroup Competition is the idea that social groups will extend from the desire for a group to gain the scarce resources that exist (36 40). This idea is greatly supported by the segment on affirmative action in the video (36 40). As said in the movie, the idea is that scholarship money and grant money is a scarce resource when students decide to go to college (37 40). In this view, the individuals who are against affirmative actionare competing for that scarce resource (36 40). By using techniques like affirmative action and racial and/or ethnic based scholarships present the subordinate group s strive for power, and the arguments against these resources are the dominant group s attempt to maintain their power (36 40). Moreover, the strive to gain these programs is not just for their own individual self interest, but is for the interest of their social group as a whole to maintain the group s desires (36 40). It is in this belief that s the Realistic Conflict Theory resides (36 40). In this, their exists the view that this conflict for scarce resources subsequently produces prejudice, in which a privileged group has a sense of group position and strives to protect it (36 40). Innocence And The Death Penalty Analysis In Richard Dieter s article Innocence and the Death Penalty: The Increasing Danger of Executing the Innocent , he shares the mistakes and the dangers of the death penalty. Capital punishment had gotten more and more controversial during the 90 s because of the risk of innocence. There was no DNA evidence during this time to prove if a person was innocent or guilty, so when putting them to death there was still a possibility that they were incorrect on the verdict. Today there are DNA tests that help prove whether someone is innocent or guilty, but it cannot bring those back who have been executed unjustly because of the death penalty. Lack of witnesses, the pressure from the public to solve the case, and limited resources for the defendant were common obstacles and quickened them to be charged as a suspect and then sentenced them to death based on the crime they committed . Fabriano Innovating a New Religious Experience: The Emergence of Biblical Pictorial Narratives During the Renaissance Spanning the 14th to 17th centuries, the Renaissance was an era of European history that saw immense artistic and cultural innovation. Aptly named rebirth, the Renaissance was a revival of Roman classicism and humanism. Inspired movements by the Church to humanize Christ and encourage religious meditation led to the development of narrative artwork, pieces designed to draw in viewers and invoke emotional participation in the depicted biblical scenes. To an extent, the pictorial narratives served to expand the word of God to the illiterate. Nevertheless, the main significance of the emergence of narrative images is that it demonstrates ... The opulently detailed scene expands upon the tale as presented in the gospel according to Matthew, which simply describes the three kings elation at having found the newborn child and their gifting of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Fabriano embellishes the scene, portraying a massive procession of luxurious gifts carried by men in extravagant garb, as well as horses, oxen, exotic birds, even a hunting dog. The magi are shown in exotic and luxurious attire rather than ancient robes, emblematic of the opulent Gothic style combined with Renaissance elegance. Viewers are transported into the scene by Fabriano s characters, who stand in elegant contrapposto. Some even face away from the viewer, which, in conjunction with the verisimilitude of the work, gives the feeling of being physically present in the scene. Fabriano invokes a juxtaposition of emotions in the smaller stories he tells, from disdain for the pair of maid servants tactlessly examining the gift from the first magus, to concern for the traveller being accosted by thieves, to even humorous excitement at the sight of a leopard preparing to pounce on a deer. The immense amount of detailing and smaller stories presented within the frame encourages beholders to spend longer in examining the piece, challenging the audience to find the hidden Easter ... • 54. Adam Smith s Economic Philosophy If I was to create the perfect society today, I would use Adam Smith s economic philosophy. Adam Smith is known today as a modern philosopher. In order for a society to prosper, Smith believed that their economy would have to function as a capitalist economy. The perfect, most efficient, society would include specifically Smith s capitalist ideas of the division of labor, the sufficient pay of workers, and would not include the use of slavery. These ideas will make the perfect society prosper. The most important component of having the perfect, most efficient society, would be the division of labor. The division of labor consists of one person doing one small task, another person doing another small task, and other workers continuing the same process until the final product is complete. An example of this would be the use of an assembly line while making pins, as Smith mentions in his book An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations. Smith explains that the larger pin manufacture he saw with many workers, was more efficient than the small manufacture of only ten employed workers who could make upwards of forty eight thousand pins in a day (Smith, 4). Smith then goes on to explain that, But if they had all wrought separately and independently...in consequence of a proper division and combination of their different operations (Smith, 4 5). Smith is saying that the workers could have made more than forty eight thousand pins in a day if they divided there ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
