The Court System Of Civil Law And Common Law System
III The court system or the structure of court in civil law and common law system A The court system
in civil law systems The courts have divided according to public law cases and private law cases.
Courts in civil law countries are more specialized than in the common law. There are multiple sets of
courts and each has its own jurisdiction, hierarchy, judiciary and procedure, For example, in addition
to ordinary courts that deal with private law matters, there may be Labor Courts, Social Security
Courts, Commercial Courts, Administrative Courts and Agriculture Courts addressing public law
cases. Furthermore, the general rule is that private law problems are dealt with by the ordinary courts
and criminal law is also dealt with by ordinary courts, even though it rightly belongs in public law,
decisions of the ordinary courts can be appealed to Appellate Courts, at the head of the ordinary courts
(and above Appellate Courts) sits the Court of Cassation. This court decides on only questions of law
and the interpretation of statutes. It is purpose is to ensure uniformity in the law. It can either affirm
the ruling of the Appellate Court or declare the ruling to be incorrect. For example, Iraqi court system.
Iraqi civil law system has more than one type of court like many countries that practice civil law
system. The Federal Supreme Court is a modern court in Iraq, the Court is composed of a number of
judges, the FSC, must be enacted by the Council of

Food In Korean Food
A few days ago, a friend invited me and a five other people over to her house, as her parents wanted to
cook us a home cooked meal. The dining table had a total of six chairs, including the host s. I noticed
that the spacing between the chairs were relatively of close distance, showing how Meals identify
social boundaries surrounding familiarity with people, and these are articulated around ideas of people
s intimacy and distance (Crowther 161). An elaborate plate of food was set out for each guest, as her
parents had cooked us steak with roasted potatoes, grilled asparagus, corn, a piece of bread, as well as
a dish of cream spaghetti. There was also sparkling water and regular water to drink along with the
meal. For all of the guests, this meal was especially enjoyable because we were all students dorming
in college, so we had not eaten a home cooked meal in a long time. This can be reconnected to the
topic of commensality, as The sharing of food reinforces ties, forges new memories, and allows people
to reflect on the importance of eating together (Crowther 151).
In Korean culture, it is respectable for the guests to help set the table with the necessary utensils, as it
also shows the parents that we are appreciative of the meal. Right as the plate of food was set on the
table, everyone began to take out their phones, waiting to capture pictures of the food. As all the
guests were females, it was interesting to see how social media is involved, even in the ordinary

A Raisin in the Sun Comparison to Martin Luther King Jr.
Common Dreams A dream is to envision another life or characteristic that could be better or worse
than what the person already has. In the case of most people it is a dream that is positive. People
mainly are selfish dreamers who dream only about themselves but there are some who dream about
the world or others such as friends and family. Two examples of these types of dreamers are Mama
from the play A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry and Martin Luther King Jr. s speech I Have a
Dream . In Dr. King s speech he brings up that his dream is not only for him but for others with the
same problem. He is a caring dreamer, one who believes others come first then himself. Mama is also
a dreamer of this sort. Her dreams are for her ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These two people can be related in a way because they both dream of others living amongst whites
and to live in a place where the living conditions are better, where a plant can survive. There are other
similarities between Mama and Martin Luther King Jr., for example another similarity would be
sacrifice. Martin Luther King Jr. technically did sacrifice his life. To talk about freedom of blacks in a
time where blacks are highly hated is something risky and may take their life. He sacrificed his life
because he has four kids that he wants to grow up in an equal society. He stated, I have a dream that
my four little children will one day live a nation where they will not be judged . He is sacrificing for
the benefit of others. In this case he is sacrificing for his family and all blacks out there who wouldn t
speak up. Martin Luther King Junior is easily related to Mama because she also is sacrificing for the
benefit of family. Mama sacrifices the money that she received from the death of her husband for the
life of her loved ones. Mama sacrifices the money for Beneatha s college fund for her to pursue her
career of being a doctor. She also sacrifices her money for a house for everyone but mainly Travis, her
grandson who sleeps on a couch with plastic coverings, so that he may have a proper bed. She says,
Son I just tried to find the nicest place for the least amount of money for my family . In this

Wax-Moth Larvae Research Paper
Wax moth larvae is a species of caterpillar which has a surprising ability: to degrade plastic waste!
One hundred of these worms can degrade ninety two milligrams of polyethylene, which is the hardest
to degrade plastic, as well as the most common. Wax moth larvae, also known as Galleria mellonella
will be a valuable research topic in the coming years. Additionally, these organisms come with a
plethora of information on how plastic can finally be properly disposed of. How scientists discovered
the abilities of the wax moth larvae is actually quite comical. Spanish researcher and beekeeper
Federica Bertocchini put several wax moth larvae into a plastic bag after removing them from one of
her hives. When she went to retrieve them, she discovered

David Mccullough s Speech You Re Not Special
Lampley, Frederick
English 1A
November 2, 2015
Mr. Buonadonna The Me Generation
The speech, You re Not Special given by David McCullough to Wellesley High School graduates,
criticized their generation for epitomizing the Me Generation . The speaker warns the graduates about
superficial behaviors and characteristics that are more evident than in prior generations. Regrettably,
McCullough correctly argues that the Me Generation exhibits attitudes that if continued could weaken
a generation, including: viewing themselves as more special than everyone else; believing that
accolades are more meaningful than genuine achievement; and that self centeredness is an appropriate
virtue.
The Me Generation thinks that they are more special than everybody else, but they are not. There were
at least 3 million of high school students graduating and almost 40 thousand valedictorians graduating
in 2012. All graduates are special in their own way, so with that logic nobody is special. All people
have something unique about them and many have a reason to be awarded at some point in their lives.
Consequently, there is no reason to think you are special until you truly achieve on your own. ... Show

Americans, to our detriment, come to love accolades more than genuine achievement according to
McCullough. Creating something useful or doing something great or distinctive that actually impacts
people, such as discovering a cure for cancer or even doing community service to help others and
earning recognition is achievement. However, giving trophies to all members of the losing teams
sends the wrong message about achievement. Rewards for failure, will negatively impact the attitudes
and accomplishments of the Me Generation moving forward, and has helped to foster the Me

The Influence Of Drug Use And Abuse
Over the course of the last twenty years, drug usage has changed rather dramatically. From the kinds
of drugs used to their potencies to how much is used, there are multiple factors to observe. Some
drugs that didn t even exist or were almost unheard of that long ago are some of the most abused today
and are growing in popularity. In this essay I will be analyzing how people use drugs differently today
than they did 20 years ago, in 1997, as opposed to how it is used today in 2017. In addition to this, we
will be looking at how this change is affecting society and whether or not we re better off than we
were in the late 1990s. To begin, Let s observe drug usage and abuse in 1997. At this time in the U.S,
communities and society had begun ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another newer drug and very dangerous drug to gain popularity is synthesized marijuana. Despite all
of this, many some drug usage and abuse hass decreased since 1997. Cocaine use is one of the few
that has gone down considerably, along with alcohol abuse some. Thanks to several anti tobacco
campaigns and similar agendas, tobacco use amongst Americans is declining by quite a bit, and even
more rapidly with teens. To conclude, in 2017 thanks to the efforts of government sponsored
campaigns tobacco and alcohol abuse has decreased dramatically since the 1990s, however newer and
more powerful drugs like methamphetamine and synthesized marijuana have gained in popularity over
the course of 20 years, and other drugs including opioids and heroin the like have grown to become
the most dangerous and most used today. Now we will observe the change in drug abuse from a direct
source. When asked if drugs use has increased or decreased since 1997, both of my subjects agreed it
had increased. When I asked what drugs in particular were more popular, the interviewed went along
with the research and said meth, as well as opioids like heroin. In addition to this, both participants
agreed drugs are more dangerous now more than ever. In particular, one participant said heroin was
the most dangerous drug right now, while the other said heroin and synthetic marijuana. To conclude,

Taking a Look at CGI and Perl Scripts
Many years ago, as many of us must have noticed most websites that were running had plain and
simple web pages with some animation in the form of gif files. Companies like Apple then broke the
ice and came up with elegantly designed websites that looked really engaging and simple to navigate.
Things started to evolve from then onwards. In addition to just writing HTML for web pages and
saving them on a server, web developers started to come up with better ways of making these pages
further interactive. The thought was great but there was an issue and that was one could only get static
content. What if one wanted to notify others of how many people came to visit their website or what if
you wanted to capture data from an online form? That was the moment when people started to turn
towards CGI and Perl scripts. These scripts were special codes that used to run on the web server and
could act as an interface between the file systems and/or the database.
CGI and Perl scripts were not easy to use and in fact they were not so flexible. In fact, a new process
for each request had to be created plus it wasn t secure and it didn t offer any structured way of
creating dynamic modules or applications. As a result, things became a little complex and confusing
until 2005 when JSP and Microsoft s ASP and PHP came into the picture. These languages have
helped developers to come up with both scalable and secure applications.
As time passed by things became even more interesting with the

Informant Vs Preliminary Hearing
The case that I received was a case that has to do with the disclosure of information by the prosecutor
in court. A federal agent had caught a man selling drugs during an undercover operation. The
prosecutor had instructed the agent not to mention information about an informant during the
preliminary hearing.(Garland,2012)The question with this is whether or not this act was
unconstitutional. This is unconstitutional because all information should be included and none
disclosed for the preliminary hearing or any trial. The prosecution wanted to disclose the information
about the informant because it was not needed in the preliminary hearing. The Gale Encyclopedia said

why this Nikon scope is a popular favorite among the best AR 15 scopes, hands

Cloud Computing System For Computing
Cloud Computing Introduction Cloud computing system, which functions based on the concept of
providing computing as a utility, can be defined as the method of providing resources for computing
on demand, using remotely operational servers on the internet for data storage, processing data and
managing data. Its equivalent to using a computer for its services, only without having to carry the
hardware for it. Cloud applications, being dynamically scalable, agile and capable of running virtual
applications and even an OS on a browser help in reducing costs of resource acquisition. A cloud
computing model has the following basic features: Without involving any human interaction, the users
can access any contracted service/ resource, be it data processing, memory space or application
programs as a service from the provider. These contracted services/ resources can be availed by any
user anywhere, anytime via the internet. These computing resources are distributed in various data
centres across the globe which is shared by users from any part of the world. It goes by pay what you
use for policy. The user pays only for the resources they use. Also, a big advantage is that from a user
s perspective, all the resources are unlimited, and flexible for access. Good QoS (Quality of Service) is
guaranteed by the provider. The cloud services are elastic. So the user can ask for more services/
resources whenever they require, also terminate, when not required. Cloud computers

Thus, young designers will seek to profit from the support of investors to finance their growth.
Branded watches have continuously been well liked throughout the years and will still continue to be
trendy in the years to come for the reason that after consumers buy into a brand, they reap countless
benefits. With their knowledgeable purchasing routine, consumers continue to purchase in style brand
watches for five important reasons.
1. The primary goal consumers get branded watches is that they are very dependable. This is of unique
significance because they will know from their previous experience whether a brand is of quality or
not. After the watch confirms reliability, the brand will be bought often times by loyal customers. As a
result, the top quality brand watches will continually perform well.
2. The next cause boils down to a large extent of how the consumers regard the brand. There are many
assorted brands available in the marketplace these days but consumers continue to obtain only a
handful of the brands they trust and are familiar with. The reason for this is that when consumers
decide to buy a new watch, they normally purchase a brand which they highly regard.
3. These fashionable brand watches are known to be tough and this is the third reason why consumers
obtain branded watches. It is a considerable aspect to be aware of

Analysis Of Michael Schaap s Mom Why Did You...
The film, Mom, Why Did You Circumcise Me, the narrator, Michael Schaap, explores the
conversation of MC (male circumcision) within his community. Schaap initiates the discussion by
speaking to the cultural aspects and traditions of why MC may occur as well as the medical
implications and the sometimes involuntary occurrences of the practice. Schaap s clear argument as it
pertains to MC is stated at the beginning of the film. But before we dig into his perspective, let s
understand the types of perspectives presented in the film. The emic perspective is the experiences and
perspectives of people within the culture (natives) while the etic perspective is the limited experience
of an outsider viewing the culture. The many emic perspectives from the circumcised men Schaap
interviews and himself present themselves within the film; however, I will focus on the emic
perspectives of the Muslim convert, Abdulwahid van Bommel, and the Jewish Man, Leo Mock.
Bommel states that nowhere in the Koran was MC mentioned, but that it derives from the people who
teach the Koran focusing on the verse of Ibraheem and compares MC to upkeep of the body
(compared to cutting hair and nails) for hygiene s sake. Bommel states he was circumcised at age 23
and it felt like an initiation ritual and now [he] had become a real Muslim . Through this emic
perspective, the scope of the cultural significance behind the practice of MC is implicated. It signifies
manhood, it signifies being a part of

This Boy s Life Analysis
In the memoir This Boy s Life the readers are introduced to Jack, a troubled boy who struggles
through his adolescence. Jack s boyhood was plagued with a divorce, moving, hostile environments,
and unknown identity. To create a foundation, and image for himself Jack began to create a new life,
in his mind. This concept was shown throughout the whole memoir. For example, in this quotation,
And on the boy who lived in their letters, the splendid phantom who carried all my hopes, it seemed to
me I saw, at last , my own face. (214). Imagination was Jack main source of escape from what he truly
was. Jack pictured himself as one of the elite, a football star, and 4.0 student. While in reality he was

In our culture today we are taught to be yourself, and never lie. Which is why I surprised and intrigued
by this quote, and everything that related to it. I wanted to understand Jack s life, because I have never
experienced anything close to his life. Thus bringing me to how this quote related to the meaning as a
memoir as a whole. Imagination brought Jack into a wonderful life, yet it was fake. This allowing him
to think more highly of himself to get past Dwight s and other people s outlooks on him. However,
Jack s life never turley became better. He went to the Hill school but got expelled, and Dwight s anger
never left Jack, and clouded the little bit of happiness that Jack had gained in Chinook. All of this
shows that imagination never truly makes things better, but provides an allusion. Through Jack it was
learned that only working hard, and keeping out of trouble brings honest good fortune. Which was
expressed throughout the memoir to allow the readers to see the good and bad that came from Jack s
life. Overall, the quotation helped me understand Jack s use of imagination, and even the true meaning
of the memoir as a

Public Relations And Communication Management Essay
Introduction
Grunig (2013) sees public relations and communication management as fundamental to the
achievement of organisational goals. A major road and tunnelling project in West Auckland, has
required considerable planning and communication with publics. The Waterview Connection
Development (WCD) is a motorway link between State Highways 16 and 20, which, in part, runs
through tunnels. The WCD aims to provide a direct link between the central business district and the
airport, and an alternative to State Highway 1.
This essay critically assesses how the New Zealand Transport Authority (NZTA) has communicated
with publics during the WCD. It analyses the communication activity, and applies public relations
theory.
Key Publics
Major publics with an interest in the project include residents with properties affected by the noise and
possible shifts of land, road users who may experience delays during construction, and businesses that
may lose of revenue if customers find it difficult to access their premises. Mehta and Xavier (2009)
note engagement relationship strategies used with various publics may be different to each other and
vary over time as different parts of the project are completed. Project managers need to negotiate with
residents, road users and business owners to minimise disruptions.
All affected sections of Auckland s multicultural population should be included in the organisation s
publics. The diversity model (Mersham, Theunissen, Peart, 2009)

Death Of A Salesman And The American Dream
The United States in the mid twentieth century was a time of change. In the 1960 s the civil rights and
women s rights were in their embryonic stages. All of these ideas coming together created the illusion
of The American Dream. Back then; the American dream was equated with freedom and material
prosperity, two concepts that ring true today. The definition of the American dream changes as society
in the United States changes, and the connotation and reality of the American Dream is disheartening.
Two literary compositions give a realistic outlook on what the American Dream really is. In Death of a
Salesman and The American Dream, Arthur Miller and Edward Albee masterfully relay the true nature
and ideologies of The American Dream. In theory, the American Dream is the idea that every person
residing in the United States of America should live a richer and fuller life, regardless of the class one
is born in. It is not a dream about cars, high wages, and a picket fence. The idea, for it to work, is
supposed to be that every man and woman in this beautiful country has the ability to gain the highest
class in their ability regardless of their previous background. The ability to achieve such high success
is based on academic success and hard work. In current times, it seems the American Dream has
become a pursuit of material objects. Citizens of the United States work countless hours to be able to
afford bigger cars, better homes, and the newest technologies. On the surface,

The Anatomy Of The Knee Injuries
Shianne Rey
Complete Tear of the ACL A torn ACL is one of the most serious and common knee injuries. Many
aspects play a role in the treatment and rehabilitation of this injury. This paper will discuss the
anatomy of the knee, describe a torn ACL, and the rehabilitation. The knee is a hinge joint which gives
the legs mobility. The muscles and ligaments of this joint allows flexion and extension of the leg.
Because the knee supports the majority of the body weight, it is at risk of overuse and traumatic
injuries (France). The knee is composed of 3 major bones; the femur, tibia, and the fibula. The femur
is the biggest bone in the human body, the inferior end flares out into two rounded landmarks called
femoral condyles. Their name comes from the side of the body they are on, which is where we get
Lateral Femoral Condyle and Media Femoral Condyle. Superiorly to these condlyes are the medial
and lateral femoral epicondyles. The bones inferior to the femur are the Tibia and Fibula. The superior
end of the Tibia flares out into slightly concave structures called the Tibial Plateaus. A crescent wedge
shape of cartilage sits in each plateau. These are the Medial Meniscus and the Lateral Meniscus. This
cartilage acts as a shock absorber and distributes forces. The menisci are bathed by the synovial fluid
of the knee (France). The meniscus is what separates the each side of the Tibia and Femur and the
transverse ligament connects each menisci. There is a circular bone on the

The U.S. Central Banking
The designers of the Federal Reserve Act deliberately dismiss the idea of a solitary national bank.
Rather, they accommodated a focal keeping money framework with three striking elements:
1. a focal representing Board,
2. a decentralized working system of 12 Reserve Banks
3. a blend of open and private qualities.
Despite the fact that parts of the Federal Reserve System impart a few attributes to private area
substances, the Federal Reserve was built to serve public interest. Three essential elements make up
the Federal Reserve System:
1. the Board of Governors,
2. the Federal Reserve Banks
3. the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC).
The Board of Governors, is an organization of the government that reports to and is specifically

A study by Hariharan M, Wheatley TA, and Price JC (1997) investigated controlled release on two
kinds of carrageenan, lambda carrageenan (Viscarin GP 209) and iota carrageenan (Gelcarin GP 379).
They analyzed their respective compression capabilities through the use of a Strokes single punch
machine. Yield pressure was calculated at 81.3 Pa for iota carrageenan and 105.2 MPa for lambda
carrageenan through the use of Heckel plots out of die tablet densities. The results proved linear. Both
carrageenan types yielded near zero order profiles in drug release tablet formulations. The tablet
compression pressures had little to no effect on the profiles from 70 to 175 MPa. It was found out that
while drug loading increased from 5% to 20%, the exponent of diffusion decreased from 1.056 to
0.678. From zero order release, the breakup of tablets during the dissolution and departure were the
result of 30% drug loading. To predict the time for 50% release as a function of the concentration of
both types of carrageenan, the researchers used multiple regression analysis, which was also used for
microcrystalline cellulose, a third filler material used in the setup. They concluded that the observed
values and the predicted values of the research were in good agreement and the R2 for the final cubic
model was 0.9984. (Hariharan M, Wheatley TA, Price JC., 1997)

Exhibition Review – Dale Chihuly, the Halcyon Gallery Essay
Exhibition Review Dale Chihuly, the Halcyon Gallery
Dale Chihuly is an American artist, born September 20th, 1941 who is known for his glass sculptures.
One of his most well known pieces is the blue and green glass sculpture hanging in the front entrance
of the Victoria Albert Museum in London (figure 1). His work has included over 200 museum
collections worldwide, and I visited his exhibition in the Halcyon Gallery on New Bond Street in
London on the 23rd of January 2012.
The entire exhibition was made up of glass sculptures fitting into several different genres created by
the artist; for example Seaforms , Persians , both created in the 1980 s, and Fiori , which he created in
the 2000 s. Chihuly explored a variety of glass ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the pieces were 3D, standing out from the wall, interesting coloured shadows and highlights were
created with the lighting on the white walls. The viewers could walk beneath the pieces to view the
underneath of each bowl like disc, and see the detail of different coloured glass swirled into the piece.
The curving edges of the discs created a natural feel to the piece, softening it.
Another part of the exhibition that I found visually stimulating were the Basket themed pieces, created
in the 1970 s, as I thought their smooth edges and insides captured and reflected the lights really
effectively (figures 8 and 9). I also really liked the multiple baskets stacked inside one another,
showing how Chihuly can handcraft the basket shapes on a variety of scales. The lip wrap on each
basket is often a contrasting colour, developed from the tradition of Venetian glassmaking, and is a
trademark of Chihuly s work. I feel the bold colour lip wraps help to draw the viewer s eye into the
centre of the baskets, revealing the smaller baskets within.
I really liked the contrast in the colour of the two chandelier pieces in the windows of the Halcyon
Gallery (figures 10 and 11). The deep red and blues within the Cranberry and Clear Chandelier and the
Dusky Sky Chandelier draw the attention of passers by, encouraging you to step closer and view the

transition period and an investment to reorganize Ohmeda s sales force for long term growth. In the
long run, we believe this consolidating market will be heavily specialist orientated. Due to these facts

This is where the money is and the growth is. Their consolidation will in essence allow us to lessen
the breadth of our dealer coverage and allow us to focus our sales effort in this high growth area.
Restructuring Recommendation and Evaluation
In the short term we calculate that the change to a specialist model will likely result in upfront costs in
the form of training and hiring new reps. This will be a transition period that will ultimately lead to
our long term vision: Ohmeda s sales specialist selling to medical specialist in the high technology
segment.
We are not recommending that Ohmeda discontinue relationships with all dealers. We recommend that
Ohmeda should keep some dealers to operate in the low technology suction market. This is a $24M
market and we have a 60% market share. This $14.3M in sales represents 15% of our 1985 medical
equipment sales. We project this to grow 3.27% per year. This market appears to be a cash cow
segment where having dealer intensity is important. Over the past few years, a competing company
focused on price has made some in roads in this market and Ohmeda fears that terminating the dealers
will harm this segment. Given that this is a price sensitive, low technology market we think the dealer
network will be able to help fend off the competitor. History has proven this to be the case.

My Girl, Vada Sultenfuss Models
In the movie My Girl, Vada Sultenfuss models the symptoms commonly used to diagnose Illness
Anxiety Disorder. However, she does not possess this psychological abnormality. As portrayed in the
film, Vada exhibits thoughts and behaviors that are not typical of an eleven year old girl. At first
glance, she may seem mentally sick to the viewer. Upon further examination however, it is clear to see
that is not the case. The odd behaviors modeled by this young child are actually a cry for attention,
and there are many aspects of this film that lead to this conclusion.
First, Vada seems to be suffering from Illness Anxiety Disorder because throughout the beginning of
the movie, she is consumed with the notion that she absolutely has a biological illness. A person with
Illness Anxiety Disorder is often convinced, or at least always worried, that she or he is showing
symptoms of a significant illness. In actually, there is obviously nothing wrong with the individual,
but the notion can cause distress in that person s life, or even impair her or him from living
productively. Vada is a healthy young girl who has no logical reason to worry about disease. Still, she
stays preoccupied with various somatic problems she feels can cause her to die if not treated
immediately. Some of the illnesses she claims she has include hemorrhoids, prostate cancer, and breast
cancer. Vada also believes she has had a chicken bone lodged in her throat for three years and that she
was born jaundiced. Her

Communism Has Denied Basic Human Rights
Surrounded by barriers of controlled propaganda and instilled fear, Communism has denied basic
human rights under the disguise of utopian ideals since its first practice in 1917 by Russia.
Communism, an ideology originally founded by Karl Marx, proposed a way of life in which all
workers would be equal. Marx called on the working class, or the proletariat, to unite against the class
of factory owners and investors, or the bourgeois; it was predicted that Communism would arise in the
countries where these classes are present. This form of government, however, remains fundamentally
flawed in the sense that it is socially impossible, bearing in mind the human mentality of evolution
and ambition. In order to make Communism a reality, many basic human rights have to be taken away
including the rights to life and liberty, to an impersonal education, public hearing, privacy, and
movement. By using different approaches of psychology as implements of repression and social
control, Communist countries have attempted to maintain a totalitarian government while the church,
despite the many obstacles faced, has remained peaceful while providing hope and support for the
citizens. One field of psychology relied upon most evidently by the Communist Government of the
Soviet Union was the psychodynamic approach, a perspective that looks at childhood and family
experiences, unconscious thought, and societal demands, denying the human rights to freedom of
thought and to an unbiased education

How Has Nursing Changed Essay
Nursing today is at the heart of healthcare provision in the United Kingdom, and nurses are the largest
group of clinical employees in the NHS (The Royal Marsden, 2011). This essay will illustrate a
discussion on how nursing has changed in the past twenty or so years with regards to how the public
health needs have changed and in particular, at how the role of the nurse has adapted to ensure that
high quality care is provided. Fluctuating demographics and an upsurge in life expectancy has had
increased demand on the NHS services, which in turn has resulted in variations in the roles of
healthcare professionals. In particular this, and a change in education, has led to new and more
complex roles for nurses who are now taking on more responsibility ... Show more content on

When the Labour government came into power in 1997 they initiated many policies which in result
has helped nursing develop and grow in professionalism, skills and leadership (Booker, 2010) .
Nurse education was a comparative new arrival to higher education. Until the early 1990s the larger
part of student nurses embarked on a hospital based apprentice style course of nursing education
(Willis Commission Report, 2012). Project 2000 seen that nurse education was transformed and the
programme established. This type of nursing was university based and students who embarked on this
course were supernumerary (Kozier, 2012).
In 1999 the UKCC set up a Commission for Nursing and Midwifery Education, which suggested that
more emphasis should be placed on the development of competency in clinical skills within pre
registration nursing courses. Following this a new curriculum was developed, known as Fitness for
Practice. This new curriculum consisted of a one year Common Foundation Programme followed by a
two year Branch Programme (Kozier 2012). According to the Fundamentals of Nursing by Kozier,

Native American casinos are exempt from federal regulations and are not required to pay any taxes on
their revenues, but they are generally required to pay a percentage of their winnings to the state in
which they are located. Native American casinos are likely going to increase their effect on the
traditional casino industry. By adding more Native American casinos throughout the United States,
locations such as Las Vegas and Atlantic City are likely to suffer because less people are going to be
making the trips to one of these two competitive locations because they will be able to easily access a
casino in their own backyard. Another potential sector of the casino industry is the availability of
Internet gambling. This will provide casino consumers with the ability to place bets through home
computers and gives them a potentially low cost business model for firms that already operate casinos.
It is widely believed that gambling on the Internet will eventually be legalized, regulated, and taxed.
The potential for growth in the casino industry seems unlimited. With hot tourist locations such as Las

online gaming industry, large revenues for the casino industry seem inevitable. Serious thought,
however, needs to be given to the

Relations Between Iran and US Essay
In 1979, protests erupted across the nation against the government of Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi.
This was triggered by the domination of foreign policy, the exploitation of Iran s resources and wealth
by foreign firms, corruption and oppressive regime. The Shah s government s close ties with the
United States and Israel, his oppressive methods and his program of Westernization were unpopular
with the Iranian people. They therefore turned to the ulama as an alternative. Ayatollah Ruhollah
Khomeini, in exile in Paris, distributed cassette tapes of his speeches to many of the partakers in the
protests. The protests were eventually included under the umbrella of Shiite Islam. The Shah was
eventually overthrown and sent to exile. Ayatollah ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The politicization of the concepts of Shi ism was first presented by Ayatollah Khomeini s concept of
velayat e faqih (the governance of jurisprudence). According to this concept, the Supreme Leader (vali
e faqih) is the legal leader of the Islamic community and, thus, he is equal to the imam. The velayat e
faqih has been the main principle of the Islamic Republic of Iran s political structure since the
revolution.
This Shiite component is a very important element of foreign policy as it is what forms Iranian
identity, along with Iranian nationalism. Shi ism is very different from Sunni Islam. It is infinitely
more religious and plays a much larger role in people s daily lives. It is because of this that even the
most secular of the political groups that partook in the revolution were still very much religious. After
the coup staged by the CIA against Mossadeq, who attempted to nationalize the oil industry, the
United States became highly unpopular with the Iranian people and was viewed as a counterforce to
Iranian nationalism. This strongly Shiite identity is also why the referendum resulted in the
establishment of an Islamic Republic. It is also important as it set one of Iran s major foreign policy
goals and has been a driving force for many of its strategic decisions in the region. Following the
establishment of the Islamic Republic, Iran severed ties with Israel, a far cry from what relations had
been like, and even ceased to recognize it as an

The Nervous System And Peripheral Nervous Systems
The nervous system has three general functions: a sensory function, an interpretative function and a
motor function. Sensory nerves gather information from inside the body and the outside environment.
The nerves then carry the information to central nervous system (CNS). Nervous tissue consists of two
main types of cells: neurons and neuroglia. Neurons also so known as nerve cells ) transmit nerve
impulses that move information around the body. Central Nervous System and Peripheral Nervous
System are Identified as the two major groups of nervous system organs while CNS = brain spinal
cord and PNS nerves that extend from the brain (cranial nerves) and spinal cord (spinal nerves).
Sensory receptors respond to stimuli and transmit data about them to the brain. In the skin, receptors
detect touch, pressure, vibration, temperature, and pain. Elsewhere in the body, more specialized
receptors detect light (see How the eye works), sound (see The mechanism of hearing), smell, and
taste. The body nervous system detects the changes affecting the body, make decisions, and stimulate
muscles or glands to respond. The responses counteract the effects of the changes, where the nervous
system helps maintain homeostasis. Neurons vary in size and shape and also differ in the lengths and
sizes because of their axons and dendrites. A neuron has 4 basic parts: the dendrites, the cell body
which is also called the soma, the axon and the axon terminal. Dendrites Extensions from the neuron

The Grimm Brothers Essay
The Grimm Brothers
Any good fairy tale may captivate a child s (or adult s) mind, but few could argue that, to be truly
enchanting, a tale needs great illustrations. Two of the most influential fairy tale tellers in history were
the German Grimm brothers, Jacob and Wilhelm. Both very intelligent scholars, they knew how to
spin a tale in the most effective way possible. However, they had plenty of work just dealing with the
tales text, so in the area of illustration, they let their younger brother Ludwig take over, beginning with
the second edition of their fairy tales.
The fifth child of six in the Grimm family, Ludwig, who was always called Louis, did not necessarily
follow in the scholarly footsteps of his two older brothers. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His landscapes included tranquil pastoral views from his home principality of Hesse Kassel and busy
urban scenes from cities like Berlin. He also pictured the interiors of buildings and gardens, often with
grand parties and important meetings shown in their midst. Showing an interest in nature, Ludwig
even made drawings of some varieties of plants and insects. He worked in many styles and media, too,
ranging from rough sketches to detailed engravings, from blurred watercolors to meticulous drawings.
One of Ludwig s greatest artistic gifts was his ability to give very real personalities to the faces of his
subjects by using various facial expressions and a masterful command of the different positions and
characteristics of the eyes. This ability, along with his interest in nature and his use of a myriad of
subjects, including all types of people and landscapes, lent itself well to the illustration of fairy tales.
The second edition of the first volume of the Grimms Fairy Tales marked Ludwig s first involvement
with fairy tales. Achim von Arnim, who lent money, editing and publishing services, and advice to the
Grimms, had only one criticism of the enormously successful first edition of Fairy Tales: it needed
illustrations. The logical choice to fill this void in the second edition was Ludwig, who made a series
of engravings to accompany the text published in 1819. Since that book was published, nearly every

Perry`s life had been a great motivation of mine since I heard of his dedication and work ethic
throughout his entire life. Hearing his life story knowing what he has gone through is astonishing to

inspired young actor his work on and off the camera is remarkable. He has open the doors up for many
of us young African Americans into careers in media and arts.
His filming style as a director would best be described as black feminism but also approval. His films
project the idea of a single unified gender oppression that is experienced evenly by all women but
rather is dictated by the color of your skin. In his films he focusses on the vocal point of African
American women entitlement in the world today. Also the empowerment aspect is very bold in his
movies because usually by the end of these films his main character is improves throughout her
hardship and journey. His films have focused mainly on African American problems or success.

A Day At The Touro Synagogue
On Saturday morning, October 15th, 2016, my friends and I visited the Touro Synagogue. We attended
a synagogue Sabbath worship which took place for less than two hours. I was really excited and eager
because I have never experienced any ritual service before. As I first entered the small chapel, I was
struck by the beautiful, magnificent architecture of the place. It was a clean, warm place with a nice
chandelier. The upper wall is covered with glass windows that help light up the small chapel and bring
a refreshing feeling. We were given directions to obtain the service books on the shelves outside
before the ritual service began. As I went further inside the chapel, a lady greeted me with the phrase

peace and contentment. A few minutes after, the Rabbi and the Cantor came in, and the Sabbath
service began.

Game Theory And Human Rationality Essay
Game Theory and Human Rationality
Game theory is a popular resource for modelling economic, sociological, philosophical and many
other situations. The Stanford Encyclopaedia of Philosophy defines it as the study of the ways in
which interacting choices of economic agents produce outcomes with respect to the preferences (or
utilities) of those agents, where the outcomes in question might have been intended by none of the
agents. Game theory has many uses, including describing and predicting ideal behaviour as discussed
later on. It can be used to model and predict for example. There are, however, criticisms to game
theory in regards to its ability to apply to human rationality and emotion. Due to the widespread use of
game theory, this has become a popular area of research in economic, philosophic and even
psychological theory.
One can think of game theory as descriptive due to the fact we often use game theory to explain or
justify people s actions after they are taken. This is best seen in analytics of games or sports, where an
analyst might weigh up the advantages and disadvantages to explain a player s actions. An example of
this would be a retrospective analysis of a chess game, where game theory can be applied to each
move to explain why the player might have played a move that seemed illogical without further
thought, but ultimately gains an advantage. This only works assuming both player and analyst are both
rational or equally irrational. If this were not the

Max Weber s Iron Cage For Bureaucracy
Max Weber s iron cage for bureaucracy occurs when an organization operates in comprehensive
patterns of societal dominance, such as the class structures throughout the earlier USSR and China
(Morgan, 2006). This iron cage is how establishments with its multiple levels of bureaucracy can
operate with his or her power to benefit only a certain group of elites (Morgan, 2006). A charismatic
leader has the talent through formal authority to drive their members into performing. According to
Morgan (2006), proclaimed, a hero figure may acquire immense charismatic power that allows that
person to control and direct others as he or she wishes (p. 168). Abraham Lincoln is example of a
charismatic leader during his time in office while speaking to troops or from the gathering of crowds
during general public speaking events (Phillips, 1992). His charismatic skills in communicating and
framing his messages to his audience motivated individuals to engage and follow his vision. James
McGregor Burns (as citied by Philips, 1992) details charismatic leadership: The term itself means the
endowment of divine grace was quality possessed by leaders independent of society or a quality
possessed by leaders independent of society or a quality dependent on its recognition by followers.

The Protests Of The Syrian Uprising Essay
Security forces opened fire, killing at least four protesters and within days, the protests grew into
rallies that gathered thousands of people. The killings of these four were ultimately regarded by many
as the first deaths of the Syrian uprising. The community s blunt outrage over the children s arrests
and mistreatment, the government s humiliating and violent reactions to their worries and the people s
refusal to be cowed by security forces embolden and helped spread the Syrian opposition. This notion
demonstrates that the killing of the four protestors was only the first of many deaths to occur
continuing into an on going war that has: ...triggered nationwide protests demanding President Assad s
resignation. Because of this, the Syrian government decided that in order to handle the issue they must
crush this nationwide dissent. This in return only allowed the protestors to push harder for a change
within the country of Syria, in hopes of it becoming the wonderful country that it was in the years
prior to the war. Syria s conflict has devolved from peaceful protests against the government in 2011
to a violent insurgency that has drawn in numerous other countries. With neither side able to inflict a

Why Was Pitt Able to Dominate Politics Between 1783 and 1793
Why was Pitt able to dominate politics between 1783 and 1793?
In the late 18th century, William Pitt managed to turn what looked like an unstable political situation,
the government being known as the Mince pie administration , into a period of dominance for him and
his supporters. So strong was his hold on politics at the time that he was able to pass an India Bill in
1784, just two years after Fox s version of the bill had been rejected and forced the Fox North
coalition out of power. Pitt also had many successes financially, never having trouble in passing his
budgets between 1783 and 1993. So how did Pitt manage to gain such a stronghold on British Politics
in this key decade of British history? Even though by this decade the ... Show more content on

He also had issues with his image, which was already in a state of ruins at the beginning of Pitt s 10
years of domination, being seen by many as hypocritical and power hungry due to his part in the Fox
North coalition. In a sense he carried too much baggage from the previous government. The next 10
years did nothing to reverse this. Fox s associations with the Prince of Wales had a detrimental effect
on his viewing by the public and parliament. During the Mrs Fitzherbert ordeal, the Prince lied to Fox,
telling him that he had not married her. Fox then passed this information on to parliament, telling the
MPs what they had heard in the press was all untrue. Unfortunately for Fox, soon after it became
apparent that the Prince of Wales and Mrs Fitzherbert had been secretly wed, making Fox either a liar
or an idiot in the eyes of the people and MPs. Another defining incident for Fox was a debate
surrounding the regency crisis. Fox, wishing for his friend, the Prince, to come into power, declared
that he had no issue with the Prince taking over. In doing this he unwhigged himself, effectively
arguing the Tory position, as well as seeming overtly opportunistic. The main issue with Fox and his
party which caused Pitt to have little trouble in parliament was the nature of their opposition. The
Foxites opposed almost every bill Pitt ever suggested. A year after Fox had

Marginalization Of Felons In Michelle Alexander s The New Jim
With no doubt, mass incarceration has produced broken people from a broken system. What breaks the
heart even more is knowing that there are collateral consequences that follow these ex prisoners
throughout the rest of their life. Those who come out of the incarcerated system struggle to get back
on their feet due to discrimination. Marginalization of felons can be found anywhere specifically in
jobs, housing, and even in debt that they cannot afford. Iris Marian Young introduces the birdcage
metaphor, where one wire of the cage represents racism. However, there are many wires that create
racism, and each of them have different approaches in keeping the bird, or the disadvantaged, trapped
in the cage. Michelle Alexander s book, The New Jim ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Simply, being labeled a felon restricts the individual from several aspects in life. Alexander states that
they are unable to drive, get a job, find housing, or even qualify for public benefits, [they] lose their
children, their dignity, and eventually their freedom (143). Felons are marginalized from society. They
are unable to obtain resources to help themselves due to collateral consequences. Particularly, under
the category of collateral consequences, finding a job in order to support themselves financially is a
challenge. When applying for a job, felons are usually avoided in the pool of applicants. Before they
even check the box that signifies that they are a felon, the concept of legal discrimination is applied to
the surface. Alexander introduces the strategy of the negative credential in the job market. Employers
are legally allowed to discriminate people from being employed based on criminal status and skin
color. Black men who have not committed crimes have the same chance of being rejected as those
who have committed one. Before considering on hiring, employers have a preconceived image about
black men being criminals, even if one has a clean record. The metaphor that Young uses about the
birdcage becomes parallel to one of the aspects of the collateral consequences, which is legal
discrimination in the job market. Alexander uses a boxed in analogy for a job application for felons,
and Young s metaphor of being stuck in one place, hence the birdcage being a box, aligns with
Alexander s vision. With discrimination on a criminal status towards black men, it is difficult to find a
job. Without a job, they cannot support themselves in the world because there are only so many
options. Considering that they also come out of prison with almost nothing, the societal level they are
in progresses lower as time goes on. With no money, they are unable

The Affordable Care Act Of 2010 Essay
Introduction President Barack Obama put the Affordable Care Act (ACA) in place in 2010 and it has
been utilized since. Obama says, the Affordable Care Act has made significant progress toward
solving long standing challenges facing the U.S. health care system related to access, affordability and
quality of care (2016). Therefore, the Affordable Care Act of 2010 has been a working progress
towards upholding the iron triangle of healthcare, which is cost, quality, and access. During the current
election, healthcare reform has been a rousing topic that has raised a lot of support for the candidates
and also concern for their future plans. For healthcare administrators, this is important so they can
strategically start planning for the election results because the effects on healthcare will be major and
will not be able to happen overnight. Hillary Clinton plans to simply modify the Affordable Care Act
and add a public option; while on the other hand, Donald Trump wants to abolish the Affordable Care
Act entirely and replace it with a health savings account and a high deductible and high premium
driven system (HDHP). Both of these possibilities affect healthcare and the iron triangle, but they
affect the triangle in different ways, which is important for healthcare administrators to prepare for.
Financial Implications Trump and Clinton s financial implications differ due to what they each want to
accomplish. Clinton states that she wants to control health care costs so

Liberty In The First American Society
Liberty would be defined in one s own words as, the power to act as one pleases, and being free within
the society in which one stays. The society and the mindset of the majority of the early American
colonists were based around liberty and the whole meaning behind it, and they wanted to make a
society based upon the idea of it. A River View High School teacher says, the society of this period in
time was as close to anarchy as possible (Justice 2016).This, in other words, is saying they had their
own voice in the way they chose to live and pursue their own happiness. The American colonists and
the founding fathers never let anything get in the way of their beliefs, hence the reason they were lead
into so many wars and battles. The colonists ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When America was first created, the founding fathers made it under the idea that all men were created
equal. Note, they only stated men, more specifically white men. It wasn t until years after that, 1920,
when women finally got their rights, to finally vote and to finally speak their own opinions, and to not
have to hide behind whatever male figure was in their life, and instead make their own decisions for
themselves. It wasn t until years later, in 1964, when it was made possible for the African American
and other race men became equal and had the freedom to be able to live and do the same thing as
whites. So in other words, the constitution has changed for the better on that note. On the other hand,
the government has also changed for the worse, and a few different ways. Today the government
changed the laws for the protection of people. The second amendment, which has been around since
America was made because obviously the founding fathers knew it was important to protect yourself,
is possibly being changed because the Americans feel that it is harmful to have or own a gun, and that
is something that half the people of America agree with, and half don t. There are other laws that are
being changed, because the government seems to want everyone happy, but obviously that cannot
happen because not everyone thinks the same so it is

  • 2. The Court System Of Civil Law And Common Law System III The court system or the structure of court in civil law and common law system A The court system in civil law systems The courts have divided according to public law cases and private law cases. Courts in civil law countries are more specialized than in the common law. There are multiple sets of courts and each has its own jurisdiction, hierarchy, judiciary and procedure, For example, in addition to ordinary courts that deal with private law matters, there may be Labor Courts, Social Security Courts, Commercial Courts, Administrative Courts and Agriculture Courts addressing public law cases. Furthermore, the general rule is that private law problems are dealt with by the ordinary courts and criminal law is also dealt with by ordinary courts, even though it rightly belongs in public law, decisions of the ordinary courts can be appealed to Appellate Courts, at the head of the ordinary courts (and above Appellate Courts) sits the Court of Cassation. This court decides on only questions of law and the interpretation of statutes. It is purpose is to ensure uniformity in the law. It can either affirm the ruling of the Appellate Court or declare the ruling to be incorrect. For example, Iraqi court system. Iraqi civil law system has more than one type of court like many countries that practice civil law system. • 3. Food In Korean Food A few days ago, a friend invited me and a five other people over to her house, as her parents wanted to cook us a home cooked meal. The dining table had a total of six chairs, including the host s. I noticed that the spacing between the chairs were relatively of close distance, showing how Meals identify social boundaries surrounding familiarity with people, and these are articulated around ideas of people s intimacy and distance (Crowther 161). An elaborate plate of food was set out for each guest, as her parents had cooked us steak with roasted potatoes, grilled asparagus, corn, a piece of bread, as well as a dish of cream spaghetti. There was also sparkling water and regular water to drink along with the meal. For all of the guests, this meal was especially enjoyable because we were all students dorming in college, so we had not eaten a home cooked meal in a long time. This can be reconnected to the topic of commensality, as The sharing of food reinforces ties, forges new memories, and allows people to reflect on the importance of eating together (Crowther 151). In Korean culture, it is respectable for the guests to help set the table with the necessary utensils, as it also shows the parents that we are appreciative of the meal. Right as the plate of food was set on the table, everyone began to take out their phones, waiting to capture pictures of the food. In the case of most people it is a dream that is positive. People mainly are selfish dreamers who dream only about themselves but there are some who dream about the world or others such as friends and family. Two examples of these types of dreamers are Mama from the play A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry and Martin Luther King Jr. s speech I Have a Dream . In Dr. King s speech he brings up that his dream is not only for him but for others with the same problem. He is a caring dreamer, one who believes others come first then himself. Mama is also a dreamer of this sort. Her dreams are for her ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These two people can be related in a way because they both dream of others living amongst whites and to live in a place where the living conditions are better, where a plant can survive. There are other similarities between Mama and Martin Luther King Jr., for example another similarity would be sacrifice. Martin Luther King Jr. technically did sacrifice his life. To talk about freedom of blacks in a time where blacks are highly hated is something risky and may take their life. He sacrificed his life because he has four kids that he wants to grow up in an equal society. He stated, I have a dream that my four little children will one day live a nation where they will not be judged . He is sacrificing for the benefit of others. In this case he is sacrificing for his family and all blacks out there who wouldn t speak up. Martin Luther King Junior is easily related to Mama because she also is sacrificing for the benefit of family. Mama sacrifices the money that she received from the death of her husband for the life of her loved ones. Mama sacrifices the money for Beneatha s college fund for her to pursue her career of being a doctor. She also sacrifices her money for a house for everyone but mainly Travis, her grandson who sleeps on a couch with plastic coverings, so that he may have a proper bed. Additionally, these organisms come with a plethora of information on how plastic can finally be properly disposed of. How scientists discovered the abilities of the wax moth larvae is actually quite comical. David Mccullough s Speech You Re Not Special Lampley, Frederick English 1A November 2, 2015 Mr. Buonadonna The Me Generation The speech, You re Not Special given by David McCullough to Wellesley High School graduates, criticized their generation for epitomizing the Me Generation . The speaker warns the graduates about superficial behaviors and characteristics that are more evident than in prior generations. Regrettably, McCullough correctly argues that the Me Generation exhibits attitudes that if continued could weaken a generation, including: viewing themselves as more special than everyone else; believing that accolades are more meaningful than genuine achievement; and that self centeredness is an appropriate virtue. The Me Generation thinks that they are more special than everybody else, but they are not. There were at least 3 million of high school students graduating and almost 40 thousand valedictorians graduating in 2012. All graduates are special in their own way, so with that logic nobody is special. All people have something unique about them and many have a reason to be awarded at some point in their lives. In this essay I will be analyzing how people use drugs differently today than they did 20 years ago, in 1997, as opposed to how it is used today in 2017. In addition to this, we will be looking at how this change is affecting society and whether or not we re better off than we were in the late 1990s. To conclude, in 2017 thanks to the efforts of government sponsored campaigns tobacco and alcohol abuse has decreased dramatically since the 1990s, however newer and more powerful drugs like methamphetamine and synthesized marijuana have gained in popularity over the course of 20 years, and other drugs including opioids and heroin the like have grown to become the most dangerous and most used today. Now we will observe the change in drug abuse from a direct source. When asked if drugs use has increased or decreased since 1997, both of my subjects agreed it had increased. When I asked what drugs in particular were more popular, the interviewed went along with the research and said meth, as well as opioids like heroin. • 8. Taking a Look at CGI and Perl Scripts Many years ago, as many of us must have noticed most websites that were running had plain and simple web pages with some animation in the form of gif files. Companies like Apple then broke the ice and came up with elegantly designed websites that looked really engaging and simple to navigate. Things started to evolve from then onwards. In addition to just writing HTML for web pages and saving them on a server, web developers started to come up with better ways of making these pages further interactive. The thought was great but there was an issue and that was one could only get static content. What if one wanted to notify others of how many people came to visit their website or what if you wanted to capture data from an online form? That was the moment when people started to turn towards CGI and Perl scripts. These scripts were special codes that used to run on the web server and could act as an interface between the file systems and/or the database. CGI and Perl scripts were not easy to use and in fact they were not so flexible. In fact, a new process for each request had to be created plus it wasn t secure and it didn t offer any structured way of creating dynamic modules or applications. As a result, things became a little complex and confusing until 2005 when JSP and Microsoft s ASP and PHP came into the picture. These languages have helped developers to come up with both scalable and secure applications. As time passed by things became even more interesting with the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Cloud Computing System For Computing Cloud Computing Introduction Cloud computing system, which functions based on the concept of providing computing as a utility, can be defined as the method of providing resources for computing on demand, using remotely operational servers on the internet for data storage, processing data and managing data. Its equivalent to using a computer for its services, only without having to carry the hardware for it. Cloud applications, being dynamically scalable, agile and capable of running virtual applications and even an OS on a browser help in reducing costs of resource acquisition. A cloud computing model has the following basic features: Without involving any human interaction, the users can access any contracted service/ resource, be it data processing, memory space or application programs as a service from the provider. These contracted services/ resources can be availed by any user anywhere, anytime via the internet. These computing resources are distributed in various data centres across the globe which is shared by users from any part of the world. It goes by pay what you use for policy. The user pays only for the resources they use. Also, a big advantage is that from a user s perspective, all the resources are unlimited, and flexible for access. Branded watches have continuously been well liked throughout the years and will still continue to be trendy in the years to come for the reason that after consumers buy into a brand, they reap countless benefits. With their knowledgeable purchasing routine, consumers continue to purchase in style brand watches for five important reasons. 1. The primary goal consumers get branded watches is that they are very dependable. This is of unique significance because they will know from their previous experience whether a brand is of quality or not. After the watch confirms reliability, the brand will be bought often times by loyal customers. As a result, the top quality brand watches will continually perform well. 2. The next cause boils down to a large extent of how the consumers regard the brand. There are many assorted brands available in the marketplace these days but consumers continue to obtain only a handful of the brands they trust and are familiar with. The reason for this is that when consumers decide to buy a new watch, they normally purchase a brand which they highly regard. 3. The film, Mom, Why Did You Circumcise Me, the narrator, Michael Schaap, explores the conversation of MC (male circumcision) within his community. Schaap initiates the discussion by speaking to the cultural aspects and traditions of why MC may occur as well as the medical implications and the sometimes involuntary occurrences of the practice. Schaap s clear argument as it pertains to MC is stated at the beginning of the film. But before we dig into his perspective, let s understand the types of perspectives presented in the film. The emic perspective is the experiences and perspectives of people within the culture (natives) while the etic perspective is the limited experience of an outsider viewing the culture. The many emic perspectives from the circumcised men Schaap interviews and himself present themselves within the film; however, I will focus on the emic perspectives of the Muslim convert, Abdulwahid van Bommel, and the Jewish Man, Leo Mock. Bommel states that nowhere in the Koran was MC mentioned, but that it derives from the people who teach the Koran focusing on the verse of Ibraheem and compares MC to upkeep of the body (compared to cutting hair and nails) for hygiene s sake. Bommel states he was circumcised at age 23 and it felt like an initiation ritual and now [he] had become a real Muslim . A major road and tunnelling project in West Auckland, has required considerable planning and communication with publics. The Waterview Connection Development (WCD) is a motorway link between State Highways 16 and 20, which, in part, runs through tunnels. The WCD aims to provide a direct link between the central business district and the airport, and an alternative to State Highway 1. This essay critically assesses how the New Zealand Transport Authority (NZTA) has communicated with publics during the WCD. It analyses the communication activity, and applies public relations theory. Key Publics Major publics with an interest in the project include residents with properties affected by the noise and possible shifts of land, road users who may experience delays during construction, and businesses that may lose of revenue if customers find it difficult to access their premises. Mehta and Xavier (2009) note engagement relationship strategies used with various publics may be different to each other and vary over time as different parts of the project are completed. Project managers need to negotiate with residents, road users and business owners to minimise disruptions. All affected sections of Auckland s multicultural population should be included in the organisation s publics. The diversity model (Mersham, Theunissen, Peart, 2009) ... The definition of the American dream changes as society in the United States changes, and the connotation and reality of the American Dream is disheartening. Two literary compositions give a realistic outlook on what the American Dream really is. In Death of a Salesman and The American Dream, Arthur Miller and Edward Albee masterfully relay the true nature and ideologies of The American Dream. In theory, the American Dream is the idea that every person residing in the United States of America should live a richer and fuller life, regardless of the class one is born in. It is not a dream about cars, high wages, and a picket fence. The idea, for it to work, is supposed to be that every man and woman in this beautiful country has the ability to gain the highest class in their ability regardless of their previous background. The ability to achieve such high success is based on academic success and hard work. In current times, it seems the American Dream has become a pursuit of material objects. • 18. The Anatomy Of The Knee Injuries Shianne Rey Complete Tear of the ACL A torn ACL is one of the most serious and common knee injuries. Many aspects play a role in the treatment and rehabilitation of this injury. This paper will discuss the anatomy of the knee, describe a torn ACL, and the rehabilitation. The knee is a hinge joint which gives the legs mobility. The muscles and ligaments of this joint allows flexion and extension of the leg. Because the knee supports the majority of the body weight, it is at risk of overuse and traumatic injuries (France). The knee is composed of 3 major bones; the femur, tibia, and the fibula. The femur is the biggest bone in the human body, the inferior end flares out into two rounded landmarks called femoral condyles. Their name comes from the side of the body they are on, which is where we get Lateral Femoral Condyle and Media Femoral Condyle. Superiorly to these condlyes are the medial and lateral femoral epicondyles. The bones inferior to the femur are the Tibia and Fibula. The superior end of the Tibia flares out into slightly concave structures called the Tibial Plateaus. A crescent wedge shape of cartilage sits in each plateau. These are the Medial Meniscus and the Lateral Meniscus. This cartilage acts as a shock absorber and distributes forces. The menisci are bathed by the synovial fluid of the knee (France). The meniscus is what separates the each side of the Tibia and Femur and the transverse ligament connects each menisci. There is a circular bone on the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A study by Hariharan M, Wheatley TA, and Price JC (1997) investigated controlled release on two kinds of carrageenan, lambda carrageenan (Viscarin GP 209) and iota carrageenan (Gelcarin GP 379). They analyzed their respective compression capabilities through the use of a Strokes single punch machine. Yield pressure was calculated at 81.3 Pa for iota carrageenan and 105.2 MPa for lambda carrageenan through the use of Heckel plots out of die tablet densities. The results proved linear. Both carrageenan types yielded near zero order profiles in drug release tablet formulations. The tablet compression pressures had little to no effect on the profiles from 70 to 175 MPa. It was found out that while drug loading increased from 5% to 20%, the exponent of diffusion decreased from 1.056 to 0.678. From zero order release, the breakup of tablets during the dissolution and departure were the result of 30% drug loading. To predict the time for 50% release as a function of the concentration of both types of carrageenan, the researchers used multiple regression analysis, which was also used for microcrystalline cellulose, a third filler material used in the setup. They concluded that the observed values and the predicted values of the research were in good agreement and the R2 for the final cubic model was 0.9984. (Hariharan M, Wheatley TA, Price JC., 1997) B. Communism Has Denied Basic Human Rights Surrounded by barriers of controlled propaganda and instilled fear, Communism has denied basic human rights under the disguise of utopian ideals since its first practice in 1917 by Russia. Communism, an ideology originally founded by Karl Marx, proposed a way of life in which all workers would be equal. Marx called on the working class, or the proletariat, to unite against the class of factory owners and investors, or the bourgeois; it was predicted that Communism would arise in the countries where these classes are present. This form of government, however, remains fundamentally flawed in the sense that it is socially impossible, bearing in mind the human mentality of evolution and ambition. In order to make Communism a reality, many basic human rights have to be taken away including the rights to life and liberty, to an impersonal education, public hearing, privacy, and movement. By using different approaches of psychology as implements of repression and social control, Communist countries have attempted to maintain a totalitarian government while the church, despite the many obstacles faced, has remained peaceful while providing hope and support for the citizens. One field of psychology relied upon most evidently by the Communist Government of the Soviet Union was the psychodynamic approach, a perspective that looks at childhood and family experiences, unconscious thought, and societal demands, denying the human rights to freedom of thought and to an unbiased education ... The politicization of the concepts of Shi ism was first presented by Ayatollah Khomeini s concept of velayat e faqih (the governance of jurisprudence). According to this concept, the Supreme Leader (vali e faqih) is the legal leader of the Islamic community and, thus, he is equal to the imam. The velayat e faqih has been the main principle of the Islamic Republic of Iran s political structure since the revolution. This Shiite component is a very important element of foreign policy as it is what forms Iranian identity, along with Iranian nationalism. Shi ism is very different from Sunni Islam. It is infinitely more religious and plays a much larger role in people s daily lives. It is because of this that even the most secular of the political groups that partook in the revolution were still very much religious. After the coup staged by the CIA against Mossadeq, who attempted to nationalize the oil industry, the United States became highly unpopular with the Iranian people and was viewed as a counterforce to Iranian nationalism. This strongly Shiite identity is also why the referendum resulted in the establishment of an Islamic Republic. It is also important as it set one of Iran s major foreign policy goals and has been a driving force for many of its strategic decisions in the region. • 29. The Nervous System And Peripheral Nervous Systems The nervous system has three general functions: a sensory function, an interpretative function and a motor function. Sensory nerves gather information from inside the body and the outside environment. The nerves then carry the information to central nervous system (CNS). Nervous tissue consists of two main types of cells: neurons and neuroglia. Neurons also so known as nerve cells ) transmit nerve impulses that move information around the body. Central Nervous System and Peripheral Nervous System are Identified as the two major groups of nervous system organs while CNS = brain spinal cord and PNS nerves that extend from the brain (cranial nerves) and spinal cord (spinal nerves). Sensory receptors respond to stimuli and transmit data about them to the brain. In the skin, receptors detect touch, pressure, vibration, temperature, and pain. Elsewhere in the body, more specialized receptors detect light (see How the eye works), sound (see The mechanism of hearing), smell, and taste. The body nervous system detects the changes affecting the body, make decisions, and stimulate muscles or glands to respond. The responses counteract the effects of the changes, where the nervous system helps maintain homeostasis. Neurons vary in size and shape and also differ in the lengths and sizes because of their axons and dendrites. A neuron has 4 basic parts: the dendrites, the cell body which is also called the soma, the axon and the axon terminal. Dendrites Extensions from the neuron ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 30. The Grimm Brothers Essay The Grimm Brothers Any good fairy tale may captivate a child s (or adult s) mind, but few could argue that, to be truly enchanting, a tale needs great illustrations. Two of the most influential fairy tale tellers in history were the German Grimm brothers, Jacob and Wilhelm. Both very intelligent scholars, they knew how to spin a tale in the most effective way possible. However, they had plenty of work just dealing with the tales text, so in the area of illustration, they let their younger brother Ludwig take over, beginning with the second edition of their fairy tales. The fifth child of six in the Grimm family, Ludwig, who was always called Louis, did not necessarily follow in the scholarly footsteps of his two older brothers. ... He also pictured the interiors of buildings and gardens, often with grand parties and important meetings shown in their midst. Showing an interest in nature, Ludwig even made drawings of some varieties of plants and insects. He worked in many styles and media, too, ranging from rough sketches to detailed engravings, from blurred watercolors to meticulous drawings. One of Ludwig s greatest artistic gifts was his ability to give very real personalities to the faces of his subjects by using various facial expressions and a masterful command of the different positions and characteristics of the eyes. This ability, along with his interest in nature and his use of a myriad of subjects, including all types of people and landscapes, lent itself well to the illustration of fairy tales. The second edition of the first volume of the Grimms Fairy Tales marked Ludwig s first involvement with fairy tales. Achim von Arnim, who lent money, editing and publishing services, and advice to the Grimms, had only one criticism of the enormously successful first edition of Fairy Tales: it needed illustrations. The logical choice to fill this void in the second edition was Ludwig, who made a series of engravings to accompany the text published in 1819. Since that book was published, nearly every ... Perry`s life had been a great motivation of mine since I heard of his dedication and work ethic throughout his entire life. Hearing his life story knowing what he has gone through is astonishing to me and I bow my head down to him for all his accomplishments through his hardships. Being a young inspired young actor his work on and off the camera is remarkable. He has open the doors up for many of us young African Americans into careers in media and arts. His filming style as a director would best be described as black feminism but also approval. His films project the idea of a single unified gender oppression that is experienced evenly by all women but rather is dictated by the color of your skin. In his films he focusses on the vocal point of African American women entitlement in the world today. Also the empowerment aspect is very bold in his movies because usually by the end of these films his main character is improves throughout her hardship and journey. As I first entered the small chapel, I was struck by the beautiful, magnificent architecture of the place. It was a clean, warm place with a nice chandelier. The upper wall is covered with glass windows that help light up the small chapel and bring a refreshing feeling. • 39. Game Theory And Human Rationality Essay Game Theory and Human Rationality Game theory is a popular resource for modelling economic, sociological, philosophical and many other situations. The Stanford Encyclopaedia of Philosophy defines it as the study of the ways in which interacting choices of economic agents produce outcomes with respect to the preferences (or utilities) of those agents, where the outcomes in question might have been intended by none of the agents. Game theory has many uses, including describing and predicting ideal behaviour as discussed later on. It can be used to model and predict for example. There are, however, criticisms to game theory in regards to its ability to apply to human rationality and emotion. Due to the widespread use of game theory, this has become a popular area of research in economic, philosophic and even psychological theory. One can think of game theory as descriptive due to the fact we often use game theory to explain or justify people s actions after they are taken. This is best seen in analytics of games or sports, where an analyst might weigh up the advantages and disadvantages to explain a player s actions. An example of this would be a retrospective analysis of a chess game, where game theory can be applied to each move to explain why the player might have played a move that seemed illogical without further thought, but ultimately gains an advantage. This only works assuming both player and analyst are both rational or equally irrational. If this were not the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Max Weber s Iron Cage For Bureaucracy Max Weber s iron cage for bureaucracy occurs when an organization operates in comprehensive patterns of societal dominance, such as the class structures throughout the earlier USSR and China (Morgan, 2006). The community s blunt outrage over the children s arrests and mistreatment, the government s humiliating and violent reactions to their worries and the people s refusal to be cowed by security forces embolden and helped spread the Syrian opposition. This notion demonstrates that the killing of the four protestors was only the first of many deaths to occur continuing into an on going war that has: ...triggered nationwide protests demanding President Assad s resignation. Fox s associations with the Prince of Wales had a detrimental effect on his viewing by the public and parliament. Marginalization of felons can be found anywhere specifically in jobs, housing, and even in debt that they cannot afford. Alexander states that they are unable to drive, get a job, find housing, or even qualify for public benefits, [they] lose their children, their dignity, and eventually their freedom (143). Felons are marginalized from society. They are unable to obtain resources to help themselves due to collateral consequences. Particularly, under the category of collateral consequences, finding a job in order to support themselves financially is a challenge. When applying for a job, felons are usually avoided in the pool of applicants. Before they even check the box that signifies that they are a felon, the concept of legal discrimination is applied to the surface. Alexander introduces the strategy of the negative credential in the job market. Employers are legally allowed to discriminate people from being employed based on criminal status and skin color. Black men who have not committed crimes have the same chance of being rejected as those who have committed one. Before considering on hiring, employers have a preconceived image about black men being criminals, even if one has a clean record. The metaphor that Young uses about the birdcage becomes parallel to one of the aspects of the collateral consequences, which is legal discrimination in the job market. Alexander uses a boxed in analogy for a job application for felons, and Young s metaphor of being stuck in one place, hence the birdcage being a box, aligns with Alexander s vision. With discrimination on a criminal status towards black men, it is difficult to find a job. Without a job, they cannot support themselves in the world because there are only so many options. Obama says, the Affordable Care Act has made significant progress toward solving long standing challenges facing the U.S. health care system related to access, affordability and quality of care (2016). Therefore, the Affordable Care Act of 2010 has been a working progress towards upholding the iron triangle of healthcare, which is cost, quality, and access.
