The author makes several main claims throughout his articles such as, national news stories are
virtually never done on permit holders stopping mass public shootings, and the proposals put forward
by gun control advocates wouldn t have stopped this attack. The columnist firmly believes in the
power of the second amendment and as such, he wants to limit the amount of new laws that control
how much the people can hold and use weapons. The claims listed are claims of fact and policy
respectively. He gives several examples of how these different prevented mass shootings were not
widely advertised and how the ones that were not stopped were all over news stations to convince
people that guns are not helping the common people. The author then proposes that the changes that
gun control advocates propose will not make a difference and begins to give reasons why which
makes this a claim of policy. He says that making a change will not make any change so the laws
should be left the same as they are now, or they should be more inclusive to allow more people to
carry a concealed weapon.

Methods and Approach Our group followed political races in Baltimore City focusing on the
Democratic races for Mayor and some city council districts. We limited our scope to six candidates.
Originally, they included former Mayor Sheila Dixon, State Senator Catherine Pugh, attorney
Elizabeth Embry, businessman David Warnock, City Councilmember Nicholas Mosby, and City
Councilmember Carl Stokes. Based on a Baltimore Sun/University of Baltimore poll, these candidates
placed in the top six within a crowded field. On April 13, however, Councilmember Mosby dropped
out of the race and pledged his support to Senator Pugh. Therefore, we included the top five remaining
candidates. Criminal justice reform and the economy were the issues candidates discussed the most on
the campaign trail. Given the events of Freddie Gray s murder and the city s high unemployment rate,
the emphasis on these issues is understood. Yet, these discussions did not complement our research.
Between January 2016 and primary day, only one housing related forum was held. This forum focused

In DR Congo there are two main agriculture regions, Plains of the east and the south and the eastern
highlands (The Washington Post Company, 2001). In the plains coffee beans, potatoes and leeks are
grown, while in the highlands tomatoes, sweet potatoes, yum and pumpkins are grow as the
temperatures are cool and there is more fertile soil (The Washington Post Company, 2001). DR Congo
is ranked 107th (the worst) in the world (Global Food Security Index, 2013). This ranking is produced
by the lack of food affordability, food availability and more importantly the quality and safety of the
food (Global Food Security Index, 2013). Every country, whether it s DR Congo or America, have
some strengths when it comes to food security. For DR Congo their strengths are agricultural import
tariffs (affordability), Volatility of agriculture production (availability), and nutritional standards
(quality and safety of food), just to name some (Global Food Security Index, 2013).
Some challenges that DR Congo face, in terms of food security, can be put in three sections as stated
before (Global Food Security Index, 2013). In the affordability section they have problems with
access to financing for farmers, Food consumption and the proportion of the population that are under
the poverty line (Global Food Security Index, 2013). In the next section, availability of food, they
