Problems With The Health Insurance
In America we have many problems that society may view as harmful or problems that need a remedy
to fix, there problems are called a social problem. Social problems can range from school problems to
drug problems. Each person in America can have their own opinion of what a social problem is to
them. Just like with time, social problems will change, some will come and some will go. So, for right
now in time one of the biggest social problems I can see in America is the healthcare. There are many
problems with the health insurance in America. According to our books in America some of the
biggest problems are: Medicare, Medicaid, Military Healthcare, Workers Compensation,
Complemtary, and Alternative Medicine. The book states that there are a few strategies for action
people can take to make these problems go away, such as: Selective primary healthcare,
Comprehensive primary healthcare, fighting obesity, work wellness programs, public education, and
the Affordable Care Act. (Linda A. Mooney, 2015) In this paper I am going to discuss the biggest
problems in America that involve healthcare insurance, how to fix these problems, and the possible
outcomes. As was previously stated, there are many social problems in healthcare, but the biggest
problems are: Medicare, Medicaid, Military Healthcare, Workers Compensation, Complentary, and
Alternative Medicine. Now I will break each one of these down and explain why they are the biggest
problems. Medicare is a type of insurance that

The Shining Path Or El Sendero Luminos
Known as one of the most dangerous and violent terrorist organizations in the world, the Shining Path
or El Sendero Luminoso in Spanish was unique in various aspects. Although now considered a
menace to Peruvian society, the Shining Path remains at the revolutionary forefront of its time. Living
in an age of terror, Peru was a corrupted and disorderly country; the road to liberation was a far way to
go. For years, demagogic candidates turned into dictatorial leaders filled with an insatiable hunger for
dominant power rather than independence. Due to their trivial behaviors, they mainly spent money for
military forces and drugs; but failed to provide the simplest needs for their people. With a destabilized
economy and paralyzed government, living became an illusion. Each day passed and unfulfilled
promises invoked angry Peruvians desperately ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Despite how unconventional this Shining Path was, it envisioned a promising future for voices dying
into being heard. Shining Path was a frightening guerrilla force, profoundly isolationist and sect like.
Established in the impoverished regions of Peru, formed by a group of radical university students, it
produced to an army of about one hundred thirty thousand militants. Led by a former university
professor, Abimael Guzman or alias Presidente Gonzalo, he was a fervent supporter of Communism.
By methodically using primitive techniques to overthrow the old government, this was seen as the true
approach into rebuilding a new improved one. Politically leaning on the left wing spectrum, the
Shining Path modeled through guided principles of Maoism, Marxism Leninism, and an ideology
known as Gonzalo Thought. This eventually became the theoretical foundations of Communism. A
web of exhortations and formulas so dense that its adherents are reduced to desperate initializing

The Domination Of Merchants And Land Lawyers Essay
Montejano Reading: The Domination of Merchants and Land Lawyers David Montejano approaches
the incorporation of Texas from the least romantic and colorful perspective of the merchants and land
lawyers , noting that these capital based and export oriented... frontier folk were the region s principal
architects (15). From strategic incorporation of Anglos into Mexican landed elite to the political
exclusion of Texas Mexicans, and from the development of commercial agriculture to driving
Mexicans from their land through coercion and fraud, both Anglo merchants and land lawyers become
abrasive actors in the Texan narrative. Driven by manifest destiny and a superiority complex, Anglos
routinely denied Mexicans, who were the original land owners and inhabitants of the region,
economic, political and social rights, eventually leading up to the modern state of Texas. With the Rio
Grande as an attractive opportunity for trade from Sante Fe and southward, many attempts to tap into
the potential proved unsuccessful including the use of steamboats. Instead, the lower Rio Grande and
the port of Matamoros became a point of much contention since silver bullion, lead, wool, his and
beef tallow were produced in the region. The attempts to commercialize the Rio Grande peaked during
the early 1800s, when, shortly after, two major US military expeditions ensued in attempts to claim
the territory. Nueces Strip, a practically worthless stretch of land framed by the Rio Grande in the

The Python Of The Kingdom Animalia
Topic 1: Context
By Selah Green
Topic 1A) The Python of the Kingdom Animalia, Phylum Chordata, Class Reptilia, Order Squamata,
Family Phythonidae is vertebrate with several diverse species (spp.) (Banks, 2004).
Topic 1B) The Python spp. is classified with Kingdom Animalia because they re heterotrophs and
exhibit motility. The Python spp. descendent from a chordata because they have a spine and backbone
developed from the notochord and dorsal nerve cord. The Python spp. is cold blooded species and
covered in scales. They have embryos or eggs that are covered by an amniotic membrane. All
phylogenetics are consistent with their relationship to lizards around 150 million years ago in the late
Jurassic Period (Strauss, 2016).
Topic 1C) There are different species of Pythons so their environments vary. The P. molurus bivittatus
inhabit Southeast Asia in jungles and grassy marshes (Society, 2014). The P. regius lives in Africa
adapting into farmland or grassland savannah. Most Python spp. are native to parts of Asia and Africa
(Gorzula, 1997). Some of the Python spp. swim and water features are important to their environment
such as the P. bivittatus. Juvenile P. bivittatus spent most of the time inhabiting trees but as adults, they
increase in size and weight will shift their habitat to the ground (Society, 2014). P. anchietae inhabits
rocks on mountain terrains and plains with shrubs (M.A, 2010).

Rhetorical Analysis Of I Have A Dream Speech
Martin Luther King was a civil rights activist and Baptist minister. Dr. King was a leader in the
African American Civil Rights movement. His speech discusses the injustices African American
people were suffering. He says that they must be nonviolent in their fight for justice, an idea which
won him the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964. Dr. King also states that they must have faith and hope for the
future. (Par. 25)
I Have a Dream was delivered August 28, 1963 in Washington D.C. The African Americans had been
living with segregation laws for many decades, and they wanted to gain the rights they deserved. Dr.
King had lived with segregation and wanted all of God s children to be able to join together. (Par. 36)
It is still important because it shows the people s struggle to get to a better society where everyone
could be treated equally. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He refers to his intended audience as his people in paragraph 8. In the first sentence of paragraph 9, he
uses both negro community and us to refer to who he is speaking to. The African American people
know this cause is vital and that they must fight for the rights they deserve. Dr. King wants to remind
them that this is urgent and that they must not use physical force or violence to achieve their goal.
The purpose behind I Have a Dream is to persuade. Dr. King has several topics in his speech. He
persuades the audience that this is an urgent matter. He argues that they cannot let their protests
degenerate into physical violence (Par. 8). He says that this cannot lead to a distrust of all white
people, because many were there to support their cause. They cannot go back. They must have

Overcoming The Challenges Of Corraditional Family And...
Nontraditional families have become more and more common today, these include stepfamily and
blended family systems, single parent families, and same sex couples. It is hard enough to cope with
the challenges however, when you add the military culture it can become even tougher to deal and
overcome these challenges. We will explore the nontraditional family and some of their challenges.
Stepfamilies
Divorced spouses subsystem can impact the entire family in a positive or negative manner. For the
positive effects, we can see that these couples that tend to support each other are able to really act as
civilized adults and move on. This is generally because of the commitment to the child(ren), by years
of common history and/or friends, or genuine concern for each other (Hall, 2016, p.123) . When the
positive effects occur, one can see healthy relationships built with each other, the child(ren), and the
new partner as well. This allows for the child(ren) to get the proper discipline and guidance that is
very much needed in children today. On the flip side of this the negative effects can be caused by
revenge, distrust, or anger (Hall, 2016, p.123) . This can cause tension among the ex couple, family,
friends, child(ren), or even the new relationship. This makes it very difficult for the child(ren)
involved to adjust to their new found lifestyle. Another challenge here is when the military member
lives some distance from the child(ren) home; if the member lives

The Multiple Intelligences Theory Developed By Howard Gardner
This research paper will unpack the multiple intelligences theory developed by Howard Gardner.
According to Molly Zhou and David Brown, Howard Gardner s theory of Multiple Intelligences
utilizes aspects of cognitive and developmental psychology, anthropology, and sociology to explain
the human intellect (Zhou Brown, 2015). By touching on the life of Howard Gardner, exploring some
of his achievements, and studying his theory as well as how it relates to the modern day classroom, a
better understanding of what teachers are up against will be reached. Biographical Background of

Howard Gardner s theory challenged that by stating an intelligence encompasses the ability to create
and solve problems, create products or provide services that are valued within a culture or society
(Zhou Brown, 2015). Next, Howard Gardner established a list of eight criteria for identifying what a
true intelligence is. In the past, studies were done on individuals with brain injury, diseases, and
psychological disorders. These studies helped determine what portions of the brain were responsible
for which functions. Howard Gardner listed that a true intelligence will have its function identified in
a specific location in the human brain (McKenzie). Also, unique individuals, like prodigies, show that,
in rare instances, a human being can perform highly developed intelligences (McKenzie). In addition,
there is an identifiable set of procedures and practices which are unique to each true intelligence
(McKenzie). Just as humans have developmental stages in cognitive growth, a true intelligence must
contain stages that individuals can climb that ultimately lead to an expert like level (McKenzie). A true
intelligence must also have its roots in the evolution of humanity (McKenzie). Another criteria; for or
an intelligence to be considered true, it must be able to withstand psychological and

The Scarlet Letter
The Scarlet Letter The Scarlet Letter is a well known novel written by Nathaniel Hawthorne. The
novel is composed and written in Salem and Concord, as well as Boston, Massachusetts in the late
1840 s. The narrator of the novel is in an omniscent state, meaning he knows more about the
characters than the characters know about themselves. Although the narrartor is omniscent, he also
makes sure to include his ideas and opinions on situations, making him also greatly subjective. Being
subjective, as well as omniscent, historical fiction along with a story displaying constant symbolism is
evident. The novel begins with a sort of preamble if you will describing how The Scarlet Letter came
to be. Immediately, the narrator is introduced as the surveyor of the customhouse in Salem,
Massachusetts. The novel goes along describing the discovery made in the customhouses attic. The
nararator finds numerous documents that he sensed obtained some sort of importance, as well as a
manuscript. The most signifigant part of the scene is the documents were tied together with a scarlet,
and gold patch that formed the letter A. Naturally, the narrator s curiosity gets the best of him, and he
decides to investigate on his findings. The findings were the works of a past surveyor, just like
himself. One thing differed. The manuscript had events that had happened as far as two hundred years
in the past! The Scarlet Letter is composed by the narrator s decision to

Artistic creations can be a means for the exploration of human attitudes, feelings and behaviors. The
performing arts are an example of an artistic media that can be utilized in this way. For example, the
use of theatre and film can be applied as way to explore some of the human attitudes, feelings and
behaviors that are related to topics such as tolerance, acceptance, anger, hatred and also forgiveness.
Two such performing arts examples are The Laramie Project and Shakespeare as presented in the

My son died because of your ignorance and intolerance. I can t bring him back. But I can do my best

will never forgive you for that. Although Dennis Shepard struggled with feelings of anger and hatred,
he was beginning the process of healing. Regarding the SHU Shakespearian production, the writers
decided to rework the ending scenes of their version of Hamlet. The men in the SHU determined that
Hamlet, when faced with the choice to revenge or not, must choose the latter because choosing
vengeance could only result in his death or imprisonment. The man in Cell E explained that,
Shakespeare doesn t offer an alternative to the violence. Is this the message we re trying to send

want to become what your father was. We ve got to break this cycle, man, the two of us, right here and

Everyone should have to go through the proper channels and be approved to be placed on the
transplant list. Then, they should have to wait until it is their turn to receive the donated organ. The
only time that someone should be moved up on the list is if their condition rapidly deteriorates over
the course of a couple of days and it is absolutely medically necessary to give them the organ first.
That would be the only acceptable way that I could see someone being moved up on the list and I have
heard of this happening before. On the other hand, I can also see why they would want the system to
make exceptions for real heroes. But, when I say real heroes I mean real heroes and not celebrities that
people consider their heroes. Heroes mean service men and women of the military, law enforcement
officers, fire fighters, etc. Heroes should be considered people who fight to help protect the people
around them, not someone who gets paid to be in the public or on TV. That to me is not a real hero.
But yes, if we are talking about the heroes I listed above, I do believe that in an emergency situation
they should be moved to the top of the list if the organ that is needed is readily available for them to
have transplanted right away. But, they should also look at the patient s medical history and note any

Pope Admiring Belinda in The Rape of the Lock
The main character of Pope s The Rape of the Lock could be considered both hailed and damned by
the overseer, but the complexities and sometimes contradictions of Belinda spark a more unbiased
view.
The appearance of Belinda and the world in which she lives is described in a very fantastical and
beautiful way. Even small details such as the arrangement of Belinda s hair are due to wondrous
entities known as the Sylphs, whose sole task is to make sure she is looking her best. This
consideration of appearance in The Rape of the Lock is very important as the society that Belinda
lives within is very judgmental on the basis of appearance, especially for women. Her role

In many couplets he pairs something epic, which starts off the couplet, with a trivial anti climax. The
method of writing within
The Rape of the Lock is mock epic and serves the purpose of criticising the negative themes within
the poem by revealing them to the extreme.
Although Belinda is very superficial she does have an aura that makes her admirable, and Pope does
not look over this. She makes it known that she is quite pure and innocent and with this innocence it is
easier to overlook to the arguably negative traits that she holds. The social rules within her society
mean that she is condoned to act the way she does and through her innocence she does. She is
arguably innocent considering sex and her own sexuality even though she portrays as beautiful an
image as she can. Her physical gifts though could be argued, in her eyes, to be prettiness and nothing
to do with sexuality. Understanding the possibility of her being innocent, there are also undercurrents
that she is not so pure as she would have the other people within the poem believe. As an example,
after the lock is stolen she tells the Baron that he could have had a more private lock of hair of her
own free will. Although all that can be ordained is assumptions, through the language that Pope uses it
is pretty safe to assume that the innuendo in her speech is intentional.

Essay On Sociology Is The Father Of Sociology
Sociology
1. What is the science of sociology?
Sociology is defined as a systematic arrangement of knowledge that indicates operations in
consideration to the general laws. In a general approach, sociology is defined briefly as the study of
how human interact in their daily social life. The word sociology is developed from two main other
words socio and logos . The meaning of socio is society and the meaning of logos is science. That
means sociology is the science used to study human social life. In addition to this sociology is not
concerned with only the social interaction but also the daily social changes.
Different approaches have been developed for the study and examination of sociology but never has
there been an acceptable concept to this study. The reason is that sociology involves a study of human
lives and the behaviors and therefore, it is a very complicated topic to study. Sociology is composed
by various sociological theories which in many cases they contradict each other leading to a lot of
issues about this topic (Horowitz, 2017).
Auguste Comte is considered the father of sociology because he was interested in the study of society

Under the pressure of Fourth May movement, during the 1921 Washington conference, an agreement
is made between China and Japan, requires Japan to return all the previous Germany leased territory,
return the custom authority in Qindao to China and many railways (Frederick, 1999). Fourth May
movement also puts pressure on the cabinet, which leads to the resignation of all cabinet members.
This movement shows the would that the Chinese people also have the ability to choose who to lead
the country. Different from seven years ago the Xinhai revolution, unions have excised their power in
democracy. Apart from foreign policy, during the movement, unions are formed in major cities.
Students, factories workers and many middle and low class people, demonstrate their ability to
influence the government, and express their opinions. Fourth May movement helps spread
communism. It is ambiguous to say whether this is good or bad. However the communism party; who

Essay on Introduction to Drosophila Genetics
INTRODUCTION TO DROSOPHILA GENETICS
DROSOPHILA CULTURE We will study basic principles of Mendelian inheritance with the use of
the fruit fly, Drosophila melanogaster [the name means black bodied fruit lover ]. Drosophila was one
of the first organisms to be studied genetically: its small size, short life cycle (10 ~14 days at 25oC),
high reproductive rate (an adult female can lay 400 500 eggs in 10 days), and ease of culture and
genetic manipulation have made it perhaps the best understood animal genetic system. Many different
species, and a large number and wide variety of naturally occurring and artificially induced genetic
variants are available. The partial genetic map in Appendix B describes the location of all the
mutations used in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thus, the genotype of a wild type homozygote would be designated e +e + (or ++), a mutant
homozygote ee, and a heterozygote e +e or e+ [Use of the term wild type derives from an early
assumption that most flies are homozygous for a standard , usually dominant, allele. As we will see,
this is not the case, but the terminology is still used]. It is important to remember that not all mutants
are recessive. A mutation that is dominant to the wild type is symbolized by a capital letter. For
example, the typical eye shape is round. One mutant produces a narrow bar eye : the allele is
dominant, symbolized by a capital letter B, and the wild type (round) eye is B+.

GENETIC CROSSES An X is used to indicate that two individuals have been mated together. The
parents are designated as P (for parental) and the offspring as F (for filial). When several generations
are involved, subscripts are added to designate the generations. P1 give rise to F1 (first filial) progeny.
If the F1 are crossed together they become P2 and their progeny F2. A cross between members of the
F1 and members of the P1 is a backcross. A cross between members of the F1 and the true breeding
recessive P1 is a test cross. MONOHYBRID CROSS The simplest form of a cross is a monohybrid
cross, which analyses a single trait and its associated variations. The diagram below shows the

Television Is A Common Part Of Contemporary Society
The television is also a very important aspect of popular culture that affects the American Identity.
Watching television is such a common part of contemporary society, that most Americans adopted it as
a part of their daily routine and watch television for at least an hour a day. Stanley Crouch, a poet,
music and cultural critic, writes that whenever people pretentiously and proudly announce, I don t
watch television, they should follow it up with I don t look at America either (Masciotra 79).
Television has become a part of many people s lives. When the mass population watches the same TV
shows, movies, etc. they can all relate to each other, and thus unite them as an American. We look to
TV shows to see how other people like us act ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
People who don t know the common trends of fictional or real characters in movies can feel alienated
when referenced in reality.
The internet has also been a key factor of popular culture that affects the American identity. Through
different social media applications and websites, the internet has broken down communication barriers
between different cultures in a way that was nearly impossible in the past. The internet has also
changed how Americans go through their daily lives. In the past people had to meet in person to meet
with each other and communicate. However, today people communicate with each other through the
variety of social media applications on their phones. Dating applications on devices have changed how
people build relationships. Nowadays, most people meet their spouses and friends through the
internet. Since America is very multicultural the internet has helped these cultures to share and
communicate with each other and create a more informed and understanding relationship between
different cultures. While America has been multicultural for so long it does have a history of racism
but the internet has helped break down some of these walls.
Another way of how the social media affects the American identity is through the food advertisements
online. When people order food online they also see food from other cultures, expand their knowledge
about cultural cuisine and become more diverse. Since people do not want to actually have to get

Why College Should Go To College
Most kids in elementary school believe that they will go to college and become whatever they want,
all they have to do is choose what they want to be, some choosing between a police man, lawyer or
doctor. However things are not as simple as we were told as kids and nowadays people are wondering
if they should even go to college. The increased cost of debt in student loans are one of the main
reasons why people are weary of going to college. People believe that college is a waste of time and
money, however I believe the opposite and that college is the best way to have a financially successful
future as well as become a productive member of society.
While one may argue that there are many billionaires without college degrees like Bill Gates and Mark
Zuckerberg they should also take into account that they both briefly attended Ivy League schools and
that their success stories are an extremely rare occurrence. On average a high school degree can only
get you an annual salary of about $35,000 while a bachelor s degree can get you an annual salary of
around $65,000. The fact that in 4 years you can double your annual income should be enough
evidence that college is where you should go after high school. Along with getting more pay a college
education also provides you with networking. In college you meet your fellow co workers and
business partners that may help you get your next job, and professors who are professionals in their
field and provide you with contacts and letters of

The real answer lies in the interpretation of the constitution by the founding father. Unfortunately,
none are alive to ask.
Reason # 5
When he becomes president, he will be in the top 5 youngest president ever elected to office.
Sen. Ted Cruz (R Texas) after his speech at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va., on March 23, 2015.
Ted Cruz game plan is to win over young voters, and part of that strategy, he said, is to use his sense
of humor. This game plan is certainly feasible as 2 out of the last 3 president have been in the top 5
youngest presidents throughout our entire presidential history. Old and reliable, may not be the same
mindset as voters had decades ago. The young middle age group is the working class, and certainly
has the most to win or lose if they do not get out and vote.

Organizational Culture Is The Most Important Variable That...
1.0 Introduction
As a result of the accelerating pace of globalization, business environments in which organizations
operate are increasingly turbulent and there is an unprecedented level of competition between rival
firms (News.bbc.co.uk, 2016). Owing to this persistent rise in competition, organizations are faced
with the dilemma of creating a viable competitive advantage. One way of developing such advantage
is by constructing a captivating organizational culture.
Organizational culture creates a unique identity that diversifies an organization from its opposition.
Ogbonna Lloyd (p, 32, 2002) defines organizational culture as the collective sum of beliefs, values,
meanings and assumptions that are shared by a social group and that ... Show more content on

Then, data obtained from an observation day at doc s shipping Ltd combined with a questionnaire
given to employees and two interviews will be analysed. Finally, my findings are compared with the
already established literature on culture.
2.0 Background
2.1 Brief background on Doc s shipping
Doc s Shipping Ltd is a small organization that is run by the founder. The organization is setup as a
direct response to the emerging trends in the dynamic Maritime/Oil and Gas industry of the West
African Sub region. Additionally, Doc s shipping takes advantage of the Nigerian Coastwise trade and
the Maritime and Oil Gas sector of the economy (Austensgroup.com, 2016). It has a relatively small
workforce of only 45 employees.
2.2 Organizational Culture
There is no single way to describe culture, rather there are numerous. According to Schein (p. 12,
1992), Organizational culture is defined as a pattern of shared basic assumptions learned by a group as
it solves its problems of external adaptation and internal integration which has worked well enough to
be considered valid and therefore, to be taught to new members as the correct way to perceived, think,
and feel in relation to those problems. Another way to describe this concept is that it is a system of
assumptions, beliefs, values and behavioural norms which have been developed and adopted by

Bleacher Couch Man Analysis
Jess Walter s short story, Bleacher Couch Man is about a 42 year old man named Cole Griffith. He has
two kids, Rita and Alexandra, who he no longer visits due to his divorce with their mother, Andrea. He
lives in a loft apartment just above a furniture store with leftover food scattered around every room,
and to make facts worse, he doesn t even have his own bed; instead he sleeps on a three decker
bleacher couch. A majority of Cole s day to day life consists of him playing basketball with other
middle aged men who are just as sizable losers as him, because each one of them chose basketball and
drinking over a real occupation. Each game commonly results in a loss and a traditional trip to the
local bar. Cole never comes to terms with how sorrowful his life really is until his ex wife, Andrea, ...

something he hadn t done in quite some time. He arrives to Andrea s house right at 6 with his

Essay about Evil Villains in Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen
Evil Villains in Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen
In Jane Austen s, Northanger Abbey, John Thorpe and General Tilney are portrayed as unpleasant
villains. Villains are defined as, a wicked or evil person; a scoundrel (The American Heritage
Dictionary http://www.dictionary.com/search?q=VILLAIN). Austen description of both men as power
hungry, easily upset, and manipulative follows this definition. She introduces both characters in
separate parts of the book, however simultaneously she delivers a stunning example of their identical
villainous personalities. Through the portrayal of John Thorpe and General Tilney as villains, Austen
comments on the male supremacy that permeates through her time. In the first half of the ... Show

Much to Catherine s pleasure, she has a walk scheduled with her sweetheart, Henry Tilney, and her
dearest friend, Eleanor Tilney. However, on the morning of the walk, it rains. Austen uses the rain to
foreshadow the upcoming unpleasant events. In the afternoon, the rain subsides leaving a muddy
mess. Unexpectedly, Isabella Thorpe, John Thorpe, and James Morland arrive at her house. They
request that Catherine go along on their trip to neighboring cites. However, Catherine feels obligated
to stay in the house and await Henry Tilney and Eleanor Tilney. In his typical self centered manner,
John Thorpe declares that he saw Tilney engaging in other activities, I saw him at that moment turn up
the Lansdown Road, driving a smart looking girl (Austen 53). Although perplexed as to why the
Tilneys did not send word that their engagement should be broken, she consents to the proposed
carriage ride. While riding out of her neighborhood, Catherine spots Eleanor and Henry Tilney
walking towards her house. Catherine, exclaims, Pray, pray stop, Mr. Thorpe. I cannot go on. I will not
go on. I must go back to Miss Tilney. (Austen 54). John Thorpe disregarding Catherine s plea,
laughed, smacked his whip, encouraged his horse, made odd noises, and drove on (Austen 54). During
this scene, Austen magnifies the villainy of John Thorpe by whisking away with innocent Catherine.

Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change
According to the reports of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, the people have to cut
about 90% of the use of fossil fuels worldwide to have a slim chance of stopping Global Warming. If
the people have anything less than the percentage given, Global Warming will not stop. As of now
Global Warming is a big issue throughout the world. Some say Global Warming is just a myth to scare
people and it s just a natural cause, but there is proof that Global Warming is a fact and that the main
cause of Global Warming is anthropogenic causes or man made. Man has overused the burning of
fossil fuels throughout generations and the numbers of burning fossil fuels keeps getting higher every
year. The increase of temperatures, sea levels, and carbon dioxide in the last century shows evidence
that Global Warming is occurring and man is the main problem. First of all, what is global warming?
Global warming is the increase of Earth s temperature due to carbon dioxide emissions from burning
fossil fuels also known as greenhouse gases (Global Warming). The carbon dioxide traps heat which
would make the temperature to rise, this is known as the greenhouse effect. The main causes of global
warming would have to be carbon dioxide and air pollution that is going around the atmosphere,
trapping the sun s heat which causes the earth to warm up. Human activity has been a key factor to
that. The burning of fossil fuels causes a lot more greenhouse gases to be trapped in the

The Artists Tina Barney and Elliott Erwitt
Beyond the Medium
Thorough research of the works and techniques of Tina Barney and Elliott Erwitt led me to a simple
conclusion: their art is simple and meaningful but, meaning is what an observer makes of it. What
does this indicate one might ask? It means that although they both have very distinct ways of taking a
photograph their common goal is to evoke emotion in their observers. Elliott Erwitt put it in the
simplest terms when he said, I think you should just look at the stuff and if it enriches you in some
way or knocks you out, that s all you need (Danziger 89). The most effective source of information
that guided my research was documented interviews with Tina Barney and Elliott Erwitt. The artists

I think color is OK for movies, which I do, and it s OK for working for people, but it s not OK for my
personal works. It gives you information, but I don t like it. It s cumbersome. With black and white
you have contacts, the negatives are put away, you can make prints and work on them yourself. Color
you can t, you have to send it to somebody. There is also no way as of now that any color print will
last in its original state for more than five years. Black and white can be as permanent as anything. It s
simpler, it s more abstract when it s good (Danziger 84).
I think Erwitt s decision to shoot this photograph in black and white only adds to its meaning. It gives
the shot a comfortable feeling. If this particular photograph were shot in color, people would be more
concerned with the details surrounding the people. They of course add to the meaning, but when a
person looks at the facial expressions on the father and son he or she can tell that s what the
photograph was all about the relationship between the two of them. Color would only distract from
Erwitt s purpose. After observing both of these artists works, I recalled very specific memories and
feelings that I forgot existed in my mind. My initial interpretations were very specific, but I wanted to
know if I

Lewis God Almighty Chapter 1 Summary
Lewis begins chapter two with God Almighty, by questioning the meaning of God s omnipotence. He
asserts that God s omnipotence means that God does not have the power to do anything but God does
have power to do anything that is consistent with his nature. God has the power to do all that is
intrinsically possible, not to do the intrinsically impossible. We may attribute miracles to him, but not
nonsense. Lewis then suggests that not even God s omnipotence could create men with free wills
without at the same time creating a relatively independent and unavoidable nature. Lewis establishes a
universe where free souls can communicate with one another and have free will. That man, possessing
this free will, may take advantage of the laws of

Studying At New York University
If you are going to be passionate about something, be passionate about learning. This belief that
Knowledge is power has dawned on me from the very young age. My father who had struggled to
impart good education early in his life, had to start working at a very young age of 17 but he never
gave up on education. Today he holds 2 degrees of MA and MBA and still continues to do his PhD
from a distant learning at the age of 54. I realized that to excel in life, it is essential to keep learning,
and that work and learning are a continuum. I aspire to further my knowledge in the field of
Information Systems from New York University. My immediate goal is to develop my potential by
further improving my technical knowledge and skills through higher learning provided by a sustained
period of graduate studies; followed by working in an organization that can positively utilize my
abilities and help in overall economic and social development. I firmly believe that studying at New
York University would help me apply my knowledge and create innovative technological solutions to
solve socio economic problems. A structured environment will not only improve my skills but also
hone my enthusiasm to affect the critical process of change that development entails. For an engineer
it is utmost importance to become an erudite in his field. Management Information Systems gives me
that path since it parallels with my previous education and the work experience that I gained for more
than 2 years

Social problems can range from school problems to drug problems. Each person in America can have their own opinion of what a social problem is to them. Just like with time, social problems will change, some will come and some will go. So, for right now in time one of the biggest social problems I can see in America is the healthcare. There are many problems with the health insurance in America. According to our books in America some of the biggest problems are: Medicare, Medicaid, Military Healthcare, Workers Compensation, Complemtary, and Alternative Medicine. The Shining Path Or El Sendero Luminos Known as one of the most dangerous and violent terrorist organizations in the world, the Shining Path or El Sendero Luminoso in Spanish was unique in various aspects. Although now considered a menace to Peruvian society, the Shining Path remains at the revolutionary forefront of its time. Living in an age of terror, Peru was a corrupted and disorderly country; the road to liberation was a far way to go. For years, demagogic candidates turned into dictatorial leaders filled with an insatiable hunger for dominant power rather than independence. Due to their trivial behaviors, they mainly spent money for military forces and drugs; but failed to provide the simplest needs for their people. Politically leaning on the left wing spectrum, the Shining Path modeled through guided principles of Maoism, Marxism Leninism, and an ideology known as Gonzalo Thought. • 4. The Domination Of Merchants And Land Lawyers Essay Montejano Reading: The Domination of Merchants and Land Lawyers David Montejano approaches the incorporation of Texas from the least romantic and colorful perspective of the merchants and land lawyers , noting that these capital based and export oriented... frontier folk were the region s principal architects (15). From strategic incorporation of Anglos into Mexican landed elite to the political exclusion of Texas Mexicans, and from the development of commercial agriculture to driving Mexicans from their land through coercion and fraud, both Anglo merchants and land lawyers become abrasive actors in the Texan narrative. Driven by manifest destiny and a superiority complex, Anglos routinely denied Mexicans, who were the original land owners and inhabitants of the region, economic, political and social rights, eventually leading up to the modern state of Texas. With the Rio Grande as an attractive opportunity for trade from Sante Fe and southward, many attempts to tap into the potential proved unsuccessful including the use of steamboats. Instead, the lower Rio Grande and the port of Matamoros became a point of much contention since silver bullion, lead, wool, his and beef tallow were produced in the region. The attempts to commercialize the Rio Grande peaked during the early 1800s, when, shortly after, two major US military expeditions ensued in attempts to claim the territory. • 8. Overcoming The Challenges Of Corraditional Family And... Nontraditional families have become more and more common today, these include stepfamily and blended family systems, single parent families, and same sex couples. It is hard enough to cope with the challenges however, when you add the military culture it can become even tougher to deal and overcome these challenges. We will explore the nontraditional family and some of their challenges. Stepfamilies Divorced spouses subsystem can impact the entire family in a positive or negative manner. For the positive effects, we can see that these couples that tend to support each other are able to really act as civilized adults and move on. This is generally because of the commitment to the child(ren), by years of common history and/or friends, or genuine concern for each other (Hall, 2016, p.123) . When the positive effects occur, one can see healthy relationships built with each other, the child(ren), and the new partner as well. This allows for the child(ren) to get the proper discipline and guidance that is very much needed in children today. On the flip side of this the negative effects can be caused by revenge, distrust, or anger (Hall, 2016, p.123) . This can cause tension among the ex couple, family, friends, child(ren), or even the new relationship. This makes it very difficult for the child(ren) involved to adjust to their new found lifestyle. Another challenge here is when the military member lives some distance from the child(ren) home; if the member lives ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Howard Gardner s theory challenged that by stating an intelligence encompasses the ability to create and solve problems, create products or provide services that are valued within a culture or society (Zhou Brown, 2015). Next, Howard Gardner established a list of eight criteria for identifying what a true intelligence is. In the past, studies were done on individuals with brain injury, diseases, and psychological disorders. These studies helped determine what portions of the brain were responsible for which functions. Howard Gardner listed that a true intelligence will have its function identified in a specific location in the human brain (McKenzie). Also, unique individuals, like prodigies, show that, in rare instances, a human being can perform highly developed intelligences (McKenzie). In addition, there is an identifiable set of procedures and practices which are unique to each true intelligence (McKenzie). Just as humans have developmental stages in cognitive growth, a true intelligence must contain stages that individuals can climb that ultimately lead to an expert like level (McKenzie). A true intelligence must also have its roots in the evolution of humanity (McKenzie). The novel is composed and written in Salem and Concord, as well as Boston, Massachusetts in the late 1840 s. The narrator of the novel is in an omniscent state, meaning he knows more about the characters than the characters know about themselves. Although the narrartor is omniscent, he also makes sure to include his ideas and opinions on situations, making him also greatly subjective. Being subjective, as well as omniscent, historical fiction along with a story displaying constant symbolism is evident. The novel begins with a sort of preamble if you will describing how The Scarlet Letter came to be. Immediately, the narrator is introduced as the surveyor of the customhouse in Salem, Massachusetts. The novel goes along describing the discovery made in the customhouses attic. The nararator finds numerous documents that he sensed obtained some sort of importance, as well as a manuscript. The most signifigant part of the scene is the documents were tied together with a scarlet, and gold patch that formed the letter A. Naturally, the narrator s curiosity gets the best of him, and he decides to investigate on his findings. The findings were the works of a past surveyor, just like himself. One thing differed. The method of writing within The Rape of the Lock is mock epic and serves the purpose of criticising the negative themes within the poem by revealing them to the extreme. Although Belinda is very superficial she does have an aura that makes her admirable, and Pope does not look over this. She makes it known that she is quite pure and innocent and with this innocence it is easier to overlook to the arguably negative traits that she holds. The social rules within her society mean that she is condoned to act the way she does and through her innocence she does. She is arguably innocent considering sex and her own sexuality even though she portrays as beautiful an image as she can. Her physical gifts though could be argued, in her eyes, to be prettiness and nothing to do with sexuality. Understanding the possibility of her being innocent, there are also undercurrents that she is not so pure as she would have the other people within the poem believe. As an example, after the lock is stolen she tells the Baron that he could have had a more private lock of hair of her own free will. Sociology is defined as a systematic arrangement of knowledge that indicates operations in consideration to the general laws. In a general approach, sociology is defined briefly as the study of how human interact in their daily social life. The word sociology is developed from two main other words socio and logos . The meaning of socio is society and the meaning of logos is science. That means sociology is the science used to study human social life. In addition to this sociology is not concerned with only the social interaction but also the daily social changes. Different approaches have been developed for the study and examination of sociology but never has there been an acceptable concept to this study. The reason is that sociology involves a study of human lives and the behaviors and therefore, it is a very complicated topic to study. Sociology is composed by various sociological theories which in many cases they contradict each other leading to a lot of issues about this topic (Horowitz, 2017). From the Egyptian Empire in the 16th century BC to the British Empire in the 19th century AD, humankind has seen large and small empires rise and fall. Some empires have been more conventional to the Western understanding, such as the Roman Empire where there was a central capital that had direct control over other territories in which it conquered. Other empires consisted of a more complex system, like the Aztec Empire which consisted of a capital, Tenochtitlan, but had very loose control over its conquered territories. • 20. Essay on Introduction to Drosophila Genetics INTRODUCTION TO DROSOPHILA GENETICS DROSOPHILA CULTURE We will study basic principles of Mendelian inheritance with the use of the fruit fly, Drosophila melanogaster [the name means black bodied fruit lover ]. Drosophila was one of the first organisms to be studied genetically: its small size, short life cycle (10 ~14 days at 25oC), high reproductive rate (an adult female can lay 400 500 eggs in 10 days), and ease of culture and genetic manipulation have made it perhaps the best understood animal genetic system. Many different species, and a large number and wide variety of naturally occurring and artificially induced genetic variants are available. The partial genetic map in Appendix B describes the location of all the mutations used in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Thus, the genotype of a wild type homozygote would be designated e +e + (or ++), a mutant homozygote ee, and a heterozygote e +e or e+ [Use of the term wild type derives from an early assumption that most flies are homozygous for a standard , usually dominant, allele. As we will see, this is not the case, but the terminology is still used]. It is important to remember that not all mutants are recessive. A mutation that is dominant to the wild type is symbolized by a capital letter. For example, the typical eye shape is round. One mutant produces a narrow bar eye : the allele is dominant, symbolized by a capital letter B, and the wild type (round) eye is B+. 2 GENETIC CROSSES An X is used to indicate that two individuals have been mated together. The parents are designated as P (for parental) and the offspring as F (for filial). When several generations are involved, subscripts are added to designate the generations. P1 give rise to F1 (first filial) progeny. If the F1 are crossed together they become P2 and their progeny F2. A cross between members of the F1 and members of the P1 is a backcross. A cross between members of the F1 and the true breeding recessive P1 is a test cross. MONOHYBRID CROSS The simplest form of a cross is a monohybrid cross, which analyses a single trait and its associated variations. The diagram below shows the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Watching television is such a common part of contemporary society, that most Americans adopted it as a part of their daily routine and watch television for at least an hour a day. Stanley Crouch, a poet, music and cultural critic, writes that whenever people pretentiously and proudly announce, I don t watch television, they should follow it up with I don t look at America either (Masciotra 79). People who don t know the common trends of fictional or real characters in movies can feel alienated when referenced in reality. The internet has also been a key factor of popular culture that affects the American identity. Through different social media applications and websites, the internet has broken down communication barriers between different cultures in a way that was nearly impossible in the past. The internet has also changed how Americans go through their daily lives. In the past people had to meet in person to meet with each other and communicate. However, today people communicate with each other through the variety of social media applications on their phones. Dating applications on devices have changed how people build relationships. Nowadays, most people meet their spouses and friends through the internet. Since America is very multicultural the internet has helped these cultures to share and communicate with each other and create a more informed and understanding relationship between different cultures. While America has been multicultural for so long it does have a history of racism but the internet has helped break down some of these walls. Another way of how the social media affects the American identity is through the food advertisements online. When people order food online they also see food from other cultures, expand their knowledge about cultural cuisine and become more diverse. Since people do not want to actually have to get ... Why College Should Go To College Most kids in elementary school believe that they will go to college and become whatever they want, all they have to do is choose what they want to be, some choosing between a police man, lawyer or doctor. However things are not as simple as we were told as kids and nowadays people are wondering if they should even go to college. The increased cost of debt in student loans are one of the main reasons why people are weary of going to college. People believe that college is a waste of time and money, however I believe the opposite and that college is the best way to have a financially successful future as well as become a productive member of society. While one may argue that there are many billionaires without college degrees like Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg they should also take into account that they both briefly attended Ivy League schools and that their success stories are an extremely rare occurrence. On average a high school degree can only get you an annual salary of about $35,000 while a bachelor s degree can get you an annual salary of around $65,000. The fact that in 4 years you can double your annual income should be enough evidence that college is where you should go after high school. Along with getting more pay a college education also provides you with networking. Owing to this persistent rise in competition, organizations are faced with the dilemma of creating a viable competitive advantage. One way of developing such advantage is by constructing a captivating organizational culture. Organizational culture creates a unique identity that diversifies an organization from its opposition. Unexpectedly, Isabella Thorpe, John Thorpe, and James Morland arrive at her house. They request that Catherine go along on their trip to neighboring cites. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change According to the reports of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, the people have to cut about 90% of the use of fossil fuels worldwide to have a slim chance of stopping Global Warming. If the people have anything less than the percentage given, Global Warming will not stop. As of now Global Warming is a big issue throughout the world. Some say Global Warming is just a myth to scare people and it s just a natural cause, but there is proof that Global Warming is a fact and that the main cause of Global Warming is anthropogenic causes or man made. Man has overused the burning of fossil fuels throughout generations and the numbers of burning fossil fuels keeps getting higher every year. The increase of temperatures, sea levels, and carbon dioxide in the last century shows evidence that Global Warming is occurring and man is the main problem. First of all, what is global warming? Global warming is the increase of Earth s temperature due to carbon dioxide emissions from burning fossil fuels also known as greenhouse gases (Global Warming). The carbon dioxide traps heat which would make the temperature to rise, this is known as the greenhouse effect. The main causes of global warming would have to be carbon dioxide and air pollution that is going around the atmosphere, trapping the sun s heat which causes the earth to warm up. Human activity has been a key factor to that. The burning of fossil fuels causes a lot more greenhouse gases to be trapped in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Artists Tina Barney and Elliott Erwitt Beyond the Medium Thorough research of the works and techniques of Tina Barney and Elliott Erwitt led me to a simple conclusion: their art is simple and meaningful but, meaning is what an observer makes of it. What does this indicate one might ask? It means that although they both have very distinct ways of taking a photograph their common goal is to evoke emotion in their observers. Elliott Erwitt put it in the simplest terms when he said, I think you should just look at the stuff and if it enriches you in some way or knocks you out, that s all you need (Danziger 89). There is also no way as of now that any color print will last in its original state for more than five years. Black and white can be as permanent as anything. It s simpler, it s more abstract when it s good (Danziger 84). I think Erwitt s decision to shoot this photograph in black and white only adds to its meaning. It gives the shot a comfortable feeling. If this particular photograph were shot in color, people would be more concerned with the details surrounding the people. They of course add to the meaning, but when a person looks at the facial expressions on the father and son he or she can tell that s what the photograph was all about the relationship between the two of them. Color would only distract from Erwitt s purpose. After observing both of these artists works, I recalled very specific memories and feelings that I forgot existed in my mind. He asserts that God s omnipotence means that God does not have the power to do anything but God does have power to do anything that is consistent with his nature. God has the power to do all that is intrinsically possible, not to do the intrinsically impossible. We may attribute miracles to him, but not nonsense. Lewis then suggests that not even God s omnipotence could create men with free wills without at the same time creating a relatively independent and unavoidable nature. Lewis establishes a universe where free souls can communicate with one another and have free will. That man, possessing this free will, may take advantage of the laws of ... My father who had struggled to impart good education early in his life, had to start working at a very young age of 17 but he never gave up on education. Today he holds 2 degrees of MA and MBA and still continues to do his PhD from a distant learning at the age of 54. I realized that to excel in life, it is essential to keep learning, and that work and learning are a continuum. I aspire to further my knowledge in the field of Information Systems from New York University. My immediate goal is to develop my potential by further improving my technical knowledge and skills through higher learning provided by a sustained period of graduate studies; followed by working in an organization that can positively utilize my abilities and help in overall economic and social development. I firmly believe that studying at New York University would help me apply my knowledge and create innovative technological solutions to solve socio economic problems. A structured environment will not only improve my skills but also hone my enthusiasm to affect the critical process of change that development entails.
