My First Day Vacation Essay
Vacation an extended period of recreation, especially one spent away from home or in traveling. This
vacation i ll definitely be far away from home.
We first packed our bags for the trip. Then we drove to the airport. Although we got there a little late
the line wasn t that big We also had special tickets which had us go to the front of the line.
It was my first time ever riding an aircraft my mom said to chew gum for, my ears so they won t pop.
well the first plane I rode was a little smaller than the other aircraft I would ride but it was still fun.
Then we reached our next airport this time the plane was a bigger plane and, way nicer than the other
one. All the window covers were down the whole flight because it had tv s built into the seats so I got
my headphones and watched movies. My third flight of the day was going to Florida, which was our
destination.
It also was a bigger plane with tv s so it didn t feel that long.
When we got to the airport it was super nice and enormous ,so we got our bags. Then we went on this
train type of thing it was fun, yet short in the airport for, us to get to the rental car area to rent a car.
When we did that, we left to a parking garage for rental cars there were a lot of nice cars there. When
we got our call, it was a Van it was nice on the inside. When we reached our hotel it was dark out and,
we were all tired. We had a sweet and my two 10 year cousins slept in one bed my aunt and mom slept
in the other and me and my 13 year

Religious Diversity
Since their establishments, many universities in the United States of America, as well as elsewhere in
the world, have grown the diversity of their student populations in more than several aspects including
religious diversity. Albeit presented obstacles, this growth represents values of tolerance and freedom
that Americans have generally come to hold in high regard. If one considers narrower communities, a
collegiate institution such as the University of Southern California (USC) boasts its diversity through
admittance of students from countries all over the world; in fact, it holds more international students
than any other private university in the United States. With countless cultures mixed in one place,
USC has a religious diversity that, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At the University of Southern California, as well as greater Los Angeles area, a larger part of the
population participates in some aspect of religious congregational life, whether that be shown by
attending mass at the Caruso Catholic Center or going to Sunday church service at Jefferson Church
down the street. In fact, there are currently over 60 religious congregations located within the USC
Defined Neighborhood Outreach Boundary, as well as many campus oriented student organizations
such as Hillel and the LDS (Mormon) Institute of Religion ( Religious Congregations Near USC ).
With such availability of and access to various religious backgrounds, students are naturally exposed
to something outside their own perspectives that is educationally valuable. However, the University of
Southern California as an institution surpasses sole religious diversity and certainly pushes for
pluralism because it is intentional about bringing people from different backgrounds together to build
positive bonds (Patel

The Nitya Ras
The religious performance of Ras Lila is based around the deities Krishna and Radha, two prominent
gods within Hindu culture and religious practice. Beginning with the Nitya Ras, a representation of
Radha and Krishna making love to each other through sacred song and dance, and eventually
progresses to the Lila at the end, which includes text, song, and dance of events from when Krishna
visited earth. (177 178) Halfway through is an intermission during which the Maharaj ji appears
onstage by stepping through a curtain upstage and walks toward one of the corners. The music
becomes quiet and then he pauses before lowering himself to the floor and bowing so that his forehead
touches it. The goal and symbolism of this action is that he doesn t see the performers as actors but
rather 5,000 year old people. (Mason). The Nitya Ras begins with the actors playing Krishna, Radha,
and their servants along with the musicians taking their places on the stage, after which the curtain
raises revealing the performers. Song and dance establishes a joyous mood, and Krishna preaches
about either the Braj, love, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Afterwards the gopis, or lovers of Krishna, come forward and touch the feet of Krishna and Radha
before singing songs praising both of them including Vrindavan, Yamuna, and Braj. (Mason). The first
portion concludes with the ras dance that can last anywhere between a few minutes to an hour
depending on the troupe that is performing and where the performance is held. In addition to dance,
there are twenty minute intervals that include dialogue between Krishna and Radha called jhankis.
Jhankis are tableaus during which the actors playing the deities hold in place and pose. (Mason).
These twenty minute intervals allow members of the audience to approach Krishna and Radha in
prayer. This allows the performance to be spiritual and deepens the connection between audience and

Hippies Counterculture
Hippies. What are hippies? Are they the flower children from the 1960s, or do hippies actually go
back further in history? Hippies are the counterculture to society. Their counterculture was one of
rebellion a rebellion with a vision. While society viewed them as another subculture, the hippie
counterculture viewed themselves differently. They believed they were the Disloyal Opposition to
Establishment culture (Miller 87). The opposed culture did not originate in the 1960s; its roots are
seen in the literary world as early as the 19th century in the works of Lord Bryon, Percy Shelley, and
Mary Shelley. The prominent people of the Hippie Movement and these authors shared comparable
views because of their rebellion against society.
The hippies were from the love generation which was made up of people who focused on peace,
kindness, and harmony amongst all people. They offered ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The love during the movement was indiscriminate and all embracing, fluid and changeable, directed at
friend and foe alike (Miller 88). The definition of love can be perceived in a multitude of ways. For
the hippies, it was a suitable disposition, a radiation of optimism for particular beliefs and actions.
This era was freely giving in the love department without ethical conviction that seeped into physical
actions. Predominantly, hippies lived by the motto love is nonviolence. Violence, they argued, was the
product of a corrupt society and was one of that society s dead ends (Miller 89). In their eyes,
practicing love gives organization. Love was shown by their charitable activities. They gave the public
free food, ran free stores, and provided free places to sleep (Miller 89). Although, they tried to create a

The International Standards Organization ( Iso )
The International Standards Organization (ISO) produces guidelines for organizations to use as a
quality management tool. ISO functions as an independent organization with no governmental ties,
allowing themselves to create guidelines that are not catered more specifically to one country than
another. One hundred and sixty two national standards bodies make up its membership and they help
supply experts who will share knowledge and develop international standards. These voluntary,
market relevant, and consensus based standards are produced as a result of the identification of a
global need and are compiled through the work of international experts working in conjunction with
one another. In 1987, the first version of ISO guidelines was released. It was heavily based on the
older UK Standard BS 5750 with three kinds of quality management systems. An organization would
select one of these systems by evaluating the scope of their activities (The British Assessment
Bureau). ISO 9001:1987 Model for quality assurance in design, development, productions,
installation, and servicing was developed for companies and organizations who dealt with creating
new products. The 9002 version, Model for quality assurance in production, installation, and servicing
was nearly identical to ISO 9001 with the exception of not dealing with new product creation. ISO
9003:1987 Model for quality assurance in final inspection and test only detailed the inspection of the
finished product and ignored how

Stronger Background Checks
More than 30 people are shot and murdered each day. Gun Control is becoming a huge problem in the
U.S.. Numerous people have died due to terrorist and criminals who have guns. The rise of gun
casualties has created a debate on whether or not you are allowed to own a gun. The amount of
restrictions on owning a gun has recently made it hard to get a gun. If no one is able to have a gun,
then people will not be able to protect themselves. There needs to be a limit on the amount of gun
laws, however there needs to be stricter background checks so that criminals can not get guns easily.
Limiting gun laws and creating stronger background checks will decrease the amount of deaths and

Over the past couple of years, being able to access a gun has been too easy for criminals. They have
been able to easily pass background checks. This is why there needs to be stronger background checks
to protect people from criminals. Also, gun laws do not need to be too strong so that no one can
protect themselves. In 2002 at the Appalachian School of Law [in Grundy, Virginia]. Hearing shots,
two students went to their cars, got their guns and restrained the shooter until police arrested him
(Guns Save Lives). This is an example of why having guns could help. If there were laws that
prevented these 2 students to own guns, the whole situation could have been worse. There could have
been more deaths but instead, since they had guns, they were able to control the situation and protect
themselves. Lastly, Americans have always had the right to bear arms. The right to bear arms has been
a long American tradition. From the time the colonists settled on North American soil, Americans have
held weapons to protect themselves (The History of the Right to Bear Arms). If there were always
laws then America would not have been America. Changing this would just lead more people to be
mad and cause more problems. It will be better off if the laws remain the same. Limiting the amount
of gun laws will allow people to own a gun and protect themselves and having stricter background
checks will make it harder for a criminal to acquire a

Comparing The Marketing Strategy Of Two Adult Learning...
When comparing and contrasting the marketing strategy of two adult learning programs one must
consider the University of Phoenix as one of those programs. The second that of a traditional
university program with an online, adult centered add on program. Both programs require a marketing
strategy that focus on the adult learner as consumer, but the University of Phoenix simply does
marketing for adults more efficiently. This is likely due to the fact that by and large, the University of
Phoenix is primarily an online program, with its focus squarely on the adult learner. Traditional
university programs are somewhat burdened by the need to adapt an existing marketing strategy to
include adult learning, which can leave questions on the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Traditional programs offer easily navigable websites for the traditional student, one just out of high
school and seeking a dorm life experience, but should work on a strategy to include and entice those
returning to school with families and career already in place, including video testimonials, program
previews, transfer credit calculators, plain English knowledge bases, live chat, and unfiltered social
media conversations (Maslowsky, 2012). University of Phoenix accomplishes this through the
interactive website, targeted commercials in adult learner rich audience demographics, and easily
navigated web content. Adult learner programs at traditional universities target the traditional college
student, and by and large their websites have information for the adult earner tacked on to pages and
pages of information about the dorm life, meal plans, and campus life. This is a fundamental
difference that bears exploration, and likely frustrates potential students and sends them to a system
which, like University of Phoenix, offers a more tailored approach for the busy adult learner who
wishes to study from home.
As regards web content, the sites for any program should be easily located by prospective students.
The path to a full enrollment begins with content that is optimized for ease of location by potential
students. A professional web content manager, who works to put the program at the top

Hypothesis Vs Scientific Theory
The difference between a hypothesis and a scientific theory is that a hypothesis is a proposed
description while a scientific theory is a proven description for something. The difference between a
prediction and a hypothesis is that a prediction is a guess at what the results are going to be referring
to the proposed hypothesis, while a hypothesis is a proposed explanation where the experiment will be
based off of. A testable hypothesis would be useful in scientific experiments because it is testable, also
a directional hypothesis would be good because it is based off of theories. A non directional
hypothesis would not be a good for investigations because they are based off on theories that have
little or no grounds. In the cell theory, all ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

How I Spent Active And Be Outdoors
Since I was a young boy, I ve always loved to stay active and be outdoors. I used to go to the park
almost every day and play with my friends. I enjoyed playing all types of sports, especially basketball
and soccer, and still do today. I joined several sports leagues throughout my life as well. I played 3
years of soccer, and 5 years of basketball. Even though it was only club sports, I still played every
game like it was my last, and always pushed myself to improve my abilities. Sadly, many of the
physical activities I participated in throughout my life came to an end, when I injured myself. This is
an injury that makes me extremely sad whenever I think about it, because I cannot accomplish things

and was really worried how my mother will react. When I told her she was furious, but at the same

playing basketball for the next 3 months and also cut my gym membership. It was one of the worst
nights of my life.
Basketball tryouts were 2 weeks away, and I knew I wouldn t be able to tryout. I tried healing my
ankle the fastest way possible, but the process was still too slow. I put ice on it everyday and rested as
much as I could. I was barely able to walk in the beginning, and even missed a few days of school.
Once I could walk, it didn t hurt too badly, but I still couldn t play basketball. I was really
disappointed, but I knew not to give up. I set a positive mindset for myself and hoped to be healthy for
tryouts next year. Once my ankle healed, I went back to my routine, and played basketball almost
every day. I wore an ankle brace, so it protected my ankle from getting sprained again. My brace
restricted a lot of movement and it was not the same, but I had to wear it for my own good.
It had been a long twelve months since I sprained my ankle. It was junior year and tryouts were
approaching. I started practicing everyday and my ankle felt great again. I still wore an ankle brace out
of my fear of getting injured again, and especially when tryouts

ABSTRACT
This study aimed to compare of using 17α methyltestosterone (17α MT), pawpaw (Carica papaya)
seeds powder (PSP), and neem (Azadirachta indica) leaves powder (NLP) as reproductive controller
agents for Oreochromis niloticus. This experiment was divided into three consecutive periods; the first
period was the treating period with dietary 17α MT, PSP, and NLP, for 71 days. Then, the second
period for rearing the obtained fingerlings till the adult stage for 190 days. While, the third period was
conducted for 90 days for spawning the mature treated fish. The treatments were (T1) hormone
untreated mixed sex fry (control); (T2) fry treated with 60 mg 17α MT / kg diet for 28 days; (T3) fry
treated with 6 g PSP / kg diet for 45 days and (T4) 1 g NLP / kg diet for 60 days. In treating period,
results revealed that differences in all growth performance parameters and FCR among all treatments
were not significant. In rearing period, results showed that fish treated with 17α MT gave the highest
significant (P ≤ 0.05) values of growth performance, highest male percentage and economic efficiency
followed by PSP, then NLP compared to the mixed sex group. While, the

Pancoast Tumor Case Studies
A Pancoast tumor is a carcinoma in the apex of the lung that involves the brachial plexus, subclavian,
sympathetic chain, upper ribs, or vertebral body.1 Involvement of these structures causes pain or

carcinoma. 2 In the case where the tumor involves the sympathetic pathway leading to the eye, the
patient can present with constriction of the pupil (miosis), drooping of the eyelid (ptosis), and
diminished sweating (anhydrosis).3 These symptoms will present on the ipsilateral side of the face as

Every company has their own way to depreciate fixed assets based on their requirements and
situations. The main reason for such a difference in strategies is showing the amount of profit in a
particular period. In case of Delta they have increased the life of an asset showing low depreciation
which leads to low operating expense resulting in higher profits. However for Singapore airline the
operating profit is good and there is not much need to show lower depreciation, moreover it adds on to
their value by showing a higher salvage value for the equipments they carry. The difference is policies
if proper as the useful life of the asset and the salvage value largely depend the experience that the
organization has in the field and usage of the equipment. In this case we can clearly see that Singapore
airlines have a much smaller operation level than delta. 3. Assuming the average value of flight
equipment that Delta had in 1993, how much of a difference do the depreciation assumptions it
adopted on April 1, 1993 make? How much more or less will its annual depreciation expense be
compared to what it would be were it using Singapore s depreciation assumptions? |Delta Airlines

The project will utilize a Zero Based Budgeting method in efforts to control cost. This approach
recalculates all labor power and costs, and then decisions such as whether to continue the function and
at what levels is made (Roussel, 2013). In view of the fact there is no budget to compare from the
previous year, the budget will start at zero and be based on activities (e.g., salary).
Budget content and justification. Each task will be persistently assessed for its necessity to discourage
superfluous spending. Hourly costs due to development time and other resources may vary, in which
case costs will be adapted accordingly as the project implementation process continues. The project s
preliminary budget is projected to be $14,176.
Direct costs. Due to existing resources such as an electronic medical health record (EMR) and
appropriate staff (e.g. information technology (IT)), the majority of the direct costs for implementation
of an intrathecal pain therapy program will be attributable to salaries. Approximate salaries were
quantified by a national salary online search tool (Salary.com, 2016). The staff education time on
behalf of the project managers is recognized and postulated to be approximately hours 40 hours.
Indirect costs. Indirect costs include items which are shared by many different entities in the

What Makes Good People Do Bad Things By Susan Dittman
Describing someone with the word evil refers to them committing an action that is considered
immoral and malicious. Evil people pull off these type acts: robbing a bank, violent killings of living
creatures, and even mental abuse through verbal or physical actions. Many people always wonder,
what was the initial purpose of committing such inhumane actions? They may say hatred, anger, and
revenge are some of the causes of evil. Although these traits do cause the idea of evil in an individual,
the inspiration for iniquitous intents is in fact sprouted through the unideal human traits of apathy and
ego.
One of the human traits that cause evil is apathy; for it makes people not consider the other individuals
feelings and security. Every ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another example is in fact in our society. In modern society, people tend to act as bystanders, people
who don t pay attention to their surroundings. Take into the account of witnessing the scenarios of
someone being bullied and a homeless man begging for money. In the bullying scenario, most of the
time, the people acting like bystanders do nothing about the situation at hand. Typically, the right idea
is to address the stakes at hand, whether calling for help or even putting oneself out there.
Unfortunately, our society ignores the fact of another human is being verbally or physically abused.
We tend to be in our own little worlds when we encounter an event such as bullying due to the fact we
feel as if there isn t a way we can help. Instead of helping a fellow peer with a challenge, we re afraid
to put ourselves out there. We refuse because we mainly care for our well being or we simply don t
believe we have what it takes to fix the situation; this leads to the feeling of apathy. The homeless
person scenario is no different. When a homeless person begs for money, the common courtesy is to of
course contribute any amount of money towards the homeless man; however, this concept

The Valence Theory Of Adaptation In The UK
On 18 September 2014, voters in Scotland rejected proposals for Scotland to become an independent
country outside of the United Kingdom (UK) in a referendum on Scottish independence. (BBC, 2014)
The referendum was won by the No campaign on a margin of 55.3% No 44.7% Yes on a record high
turnout of 84.59%. (BBC, 2014 / UK Political Info, 2017 / Jeavens, 2014) Substantial electoral gains

turnout in a UK election since the 1910 general election, which was held before the expansion of the

Throughout the referendum campaign, there was a shift in support towards Scottish independence,
(Mann and Fenton, 2017: 156 / Curtice, 2016: 2) with Yes initially polling on 32 38% of the vote at
the start of 2012; (BBC, 2012) starting the campaign polling at under 40% of the vote and finishing
the campaign on 45% of the vote. (What Scotland Thinks, 2014) This shift in support towards
independence was particularly prominent among those living in deprived areas (Mann and Fenton,

Essay on Critical History of As I Lay Dying
Nashia Horne

Critical History Assignment
Many of William Faulkner s books, especially As I Lay Dying focused on the South in the aftermath
of the Civil War. The themes of his and other Southern authors included: a common Southern history,
the significance of family, a sense of community and one s role within it, the Church and its burdens
and rewards, racial tension, land and the promise it brings, one s social class and place, and,
sometimes, the use of the Southern dialect. The criticism of the novel has changed over the years with
critics using everything from Psychoanalytic theory to Marxist theory to explain the importance of

Darl is thus established as an outsider, as he is an unwanted child, and contributes to his unsureness of
selfhood. Adamowski cites Fairbairn s theory on constant oscillation and the desire for independence
and fear of abandonment. Darl only experiences the isolation side and this choice is made for him.
Adamowski points out parallels between Dewey Dell and Addie as she is pregnant and trying to
violate the violation through an abortion. This contributes to the incestual undertones that Adamowski
illustrates between Jewel and Addie, and Darl and Dewey Dell. Adamowski believes that there are
Oedipal complexes present in both Jewel and Darl who displace their love on his horse and Dewey
Dell, respectively. Addie is portrayed as a callused and irreverent character, but Adamowski believes
that he triumphs. Also Anse is portrayed as a stranger/outsider and this contributes to Addie s role as a
father/phallic symbol, instead of just as a maternal figure. Carolyn Norma Slaughter s article addresses
the idea of language and meaning in the novel, with particular focus on Addie s view of these themes.
She points out that the story revolves around Addie, whose death is the reason for the novel, and to
whom the central chapter of the book is given. Because of this, it s important to note her ideas about
words and what they mean. Slaughter

The Boat is a short story written by Alistair MacLeod in 1968. The story is narrated by a boy when

The narrator reflects on how events in his childhood have shaped the man he is today. He speaks about
his family and the cold, frosty fishing community in Nova Scotia they belonged to. There is a somber
tone and a presence of sadness, dismay and death throughout the extract. It is told in the first person,
which allows for the emotions of characters to be expressed the most precise. This way, themes and

Arm Chair Lineman Research Paper
On any given Sunday, America has tens of thousands of arm chair quarterbacks sitting in their living
rooms calling the shots for the NFL teams of their choice, but the arm chair lineman is basically
unheard of. An effective offensive line is crucial to the success of any football team. Without a
working line, many quarterbacks and running backs would not have the successful careers they now
possess. The left tackle is the second highest paid player in the NFL, according to an article in the
magazine Bleacher Report (Salman, 2008). The exorbitant salary received by left tackles illustrates the
organization s understanding of the necessity for a powerful offensive line. The work of the offensive
line is to provide protection and create time for other players to make decisions and follow through
with game changing plays. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If he does not follow his blockers, he will have a much greater chance of getting tackled for a loss of
yards. On a pass play, the quarterback relies on the offensive line to give him the time he needs to read
the defense and put the ball where the wide receiver can catch it. If the offensive line does not block,

Implementing Access Control Third L
Operating System Security
Introduction
An operating systems (OS) serves as the medium between the user of a computer and the hardware
that it resides on. The operating system manages how programs communicate with resources in a
computer, such as disk drives, microprocessor, CPU kernel, RAM ,usb external drives, network
interfaces, printers, and web cameras to name a few. Operating systems interact with application s that
are built by programmers in house or commercial off the shelf (COTS) such as Microsoft Office Suite
or Symantec Antivirus software. The information store on computers are essential to our way of live.
Protecting this information from malicious intruders is not always practice by IT professional in an
organization until it is too late.
The steps to ensure that information is protected is the basis for this paper. I will cover protecting the
operating systems through security concepts. First, I will explain the process of protecting Operating
systems Kernel, Secondly, I will discuss implementing Access Control Third l will focus on. Patch
Management, Forth I will rank the measure explain in this paper based on the most appropriate action.
Operating System Kernel
[The kernel provides read, write delete or execute operations to files. For instance User Mode or least
privilege mode may have limited access at the application level limiting use of some operations.

World s Increasing Demand For Energy Essay
World s increasing demand for energy is fulfilled by different sectors (like Oil, Coal, Natural Gas,
Hydro, Nuclear and others). Fossil fuels remain the dominant source of energy powering the world
economy, supplying 60% of the energy increase out to 2035. Within that, gas looks set to become the
fastest growing fossil fuel, spurred on by ample supplies and supportive environmental policies.
1.1 BACKGROUND
From the advert of the modern oil and gas industry, petroleum geologists and engineers have followed
a conventional route for exploration; look for hydrocarbon source rocks, find reservoir quality rocks
where hydrocarbons can accumulate, identify a trapping mechanism and then drill a well. But a
revolution is taking place in the exploration and production (E P) industry. Rocks that in the past were
of little interest, other than as potential source rocks, are today being actively pursued as potential
reservoirs. When considering unconventional resource plays, the focus is on finding organic shale s.
This development represents a fundamental shift in the way exploration companies consider resource
plays. Engineers and geologists studying shale gas resources find that reservoir can lead to process
adaptation and refinement of techniques. It is important to integrate data from many sources and at
many scales to optimally drill, complete and stimulate wells to produce hydrocarbons from their
source rocks. The two other type of existing unconventional gas resources are

Gender, Ethnicity, Race And Socio Economics Play
This will explore the role gender, ethnicity, race and socio economics play in the acquisition,
maintenance and experience of health care. A particular focus is the interaction (intersection) between
these elements and their effect on awareness, education, active prevention and early detection of
cancer, particularly breast cancer in women. Cancer is a disease caused by a mutation and rapid
division of cells. Cancer is a general term describing many diseases; essentially there is a wide array
of types of cancers. This vast differentiation makes it difficult to combat this disease and similarly the
differences among individuals cause the course of this disease to vary greatly, cancer effects people
differently. Breast cancer is one of the more well known forms of cancer and is frequently touched
upon or glazed over in discussion. A conversation may start with I know someone who has or had
cancer but way to often this is where the conversation ends. The discussion on breast cancer needs to
expand, to further the spread of information and understanding of the many aspects of this disease.
Breast cancer is a malignant tumor that starts in the cells of the breast. A malignant tumor is a group of
cancer cells that can grow into (invade) surrounding tissues or spread (metastasize) to distant areas of
the body (What is Breast cancer). Breast cancer can be found in both male and female populations but
it is particularly, prevalent among women, Breast cancer is the most pervasive

Personality Traits and Eating Disorders in Wasted by...
In my research, I explored the world of eating disorders. I wanted to see if there was anything
specifically encouraging eating disorders and if there was a way to stop it. Eating disorders affect the
community greatly because often times, they go unchecked or unrecognized. As a recovered anorexic,
I feel it s very important to address this issue. It s a very big problem that is often not addressed at all,
or is seen as normal, like counting calories. I hoped to find a way to improve the way that eating
disorders are viewed and explain to people about what defines an eating disorder, because many
people will never know if it is not explicitly explained to them. My study s purpose is to bring light
into the dark world of eating disorders ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Each has it s own criterion for being diagnosed, but they also have quite a bit in common. First, food
is the object of stress. The meaning of food is what becomes precarious to those with eating disorders.
It is viewed differently depending on the individual s upbringing and experiences. Some view it as the
enemy, some view it as a source of comfort. You don t have to be thin to have an eating disorder.
Anorexia Nervosa is the condition when an individual abstains from food in order to lose weight or
prevent more weight gain. In the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders IV(DSM IV)
there are four aspects of criteria to be diagnosed with anorexia: a refusal to maintain weight above
what is minimally normal for one s age and height, and extreme fear of weight gain, distorted body
image, and (in females) having amenorrhea(missing three or more consecutive menstrual cycles.)
(DSM IV, 2000:589) Anorexia not only affects weight, but also alters bone growth, neurotransmitters
and hormones in the brain, and electrolytes. Bulimia Nervosa refers to when an individual over eats
excessively and then takes action to purge the body of the intake. There are five criteria for Bulimia
Nervosa in the DSM IV, which include: recurring episodes of binge eating, recurring actions of
purging, the patterns must continue at least twice a week for three months or more, a huge emphasis
on body weight in self evaluation, and the actions must occur apart

The Women s Rights Movement In Iron Jawed Angels
When thinking about feminism in today s society we tend to direct our minds and thoughts to a more
radical and powerful train of thought. Feminism has been going on for centuries, with two main
ideologies at the forefront; liberal and cultural feminism. Someone who identifies as a liberal feminist
is someone who believes that women and men are a like and equal in most respects and deserve equal
roles and opportunities (Wood Fixmer Oraiz, 2017, p. 58). And cultural feminism is someone who
identifies as someone who believes that men and women are fundamentally differently; you have
different rights, role and opportunities (Wood Fixmer Oraiz, 2017, p. 58). The women s rights
movement can be understood and broken down into three waves .
The first wave of women s movements in the United States took place from approximately 1840 to
1925. When looking at this wave from the Liberal Ideology, they fought for women to have the right
to vote, access to high education, equal employment opportunities and property rights. During this
wave the infamous, and ground breaking, Seneca Falls Convention took place in New York in 1898.
Here, 32 men and 68 women gathered to catalogue these specific events that women were not allowed
to participate in. It is also during this wave that the Golden Globe Winning film Iron Jawed Angels,
takes place.
Iron Jawed Angels, is the story of Alice Paul and Lucy Burns suffrage struggle beginning in 1913.
These two women are members of the NAWSA,

Analysis Of Never Just Pictures By Susan Bordo
Never Just Pictures highlights the severity of the growing eating disorder epidemic in America by
relating it to the plaguing fashion industry. The values instilled by the fashion industry, according to
Susan Bordo, author of this essay, desire one thing: a profit. Bordo believes it is irresponsible of the
industry to remain with its back turned on the issue of eating disorders, and the essay discusses the
ways they are doing so. The essay begins by establishing a setting. Bordo mentions the scrutiny that
Clueless star Alicia Silverstone faced when she appeared at the Academy Awards...more substantial
than she had been in the movie (Susan Bordo, Never Just Pictures). This suggests the essay was
written at least after 1995, thus giving it more currency. Anyway, the ... Show more content on

A key aspect of this essay is the exposition of the main problem behind it. Bordo believes that
Americans are far too caught up in the premise that being skinny means you will be healthy and that
possessing fat is the work of the devil (Bordo). Part of this problem is the way America sees health.
She relates much of it to something small scale. During the 1996 Summer Olympics, held in Atlanta,
the media reported heavily on the beauty of the muscular bodies of the competitors. Of course this
motivated so many Americans and people around the world to want to look just like them. But this is
not possible without encountering issues that everyone in America faces. These people do not look the
way they do because of genetics. They did everything they could to look like this. Bordo s point is
eating disorders are not exclusive to normal people. She claims that there is no way that a nineteen
female gymnast is maintaining her skimpy level of body fat without an eating disorder. According to
Bordo, there is growing evidence of it

Consequences Of Statistical Inferences Providing A Result
Consequences of statistical inferences providing a result rather than an answer could include
researchers incorrectly applying related management implications to their studies, when in reality they
are applying a treatment that was not correctly interpreted. This could result in the new study
producing a non significant result when a biologically significant result should have been detected.
Researchers desperate for a significant P value may claim an observation that was not present in the
study, or perform researchers degrees of freedom, which is defined as decision making as researchers
conduct the study, and not beforehand.
b. Truth cannot be derived from a single study; it must be repeated to increase the precision of the
study and therefore the strength of inference made about the results. Often, using the same sample and
similar methods will not procure similar results, and therefore a consensus of studies should be
provided to make a general claim. Studies that truly follow the scientific method and include
randomization and repeatability will be closer to discovering the truth than other studies.
c. In the vitamin E study, the first studies conducted on the effects on vitamin E continued to be cited
and defended even when new evidence showed their results were incorrect because they felt true. This
still happens in natural science; for example, McCullough s study on the George Reserve in Michigan
was based on 1 population of deer consisting of a small

The Role Of The Church During The Struggle For Freedom By...

Other scholars describe freedom as a form of liberation from restraint or slavery or from the power of
depending on another. It is a state of being independent (Höhn and Martin 1). Traditionally, the
understanding of the Black Americans had greatly been shaped by their individual experience as
slaves and looking at the free society that was surounding them. With the initial consolidation of a

In the fight for these rights, literature records that African Americans suffered great mistreatments at
the hands on the white Americans. Arrests and beatings were routine of the everyday life of majority
of the African Americans, as they fight to become equal to other Americans. The church played
significant role during this period, other than offering spiritual nourishment. The church gave African
Americans hopes for some brighter future (Calhoun Brown, Allison 171). It acted as a center where
the African Americans would come together and share ideas on how they would help themselves come
out of slavery and get some freedom for their people. This paper critically looks at the role of the
church in the struggle for freedom by Black Americans. There had been uprisings all over the
countries, including in the Virgin Islands, which were owned by Denmark and also on the French
Island of Guadeloupe. Black Americans and Christianity During the years after the arrival of the first
Blacks on North America soil, little number embraced the Christianity of their individual masters. In
the 1700s than, an evangelical movement under the name The Great Awakening attracted a big

standards for what is right or wrong in a particular situation or a process for setting these standards .
The authors continued discussing that there are many types of how people interpret ethics and they

(2) Exaggeration on the positive data. The second one is about being bias by over emphasizing the
positive data rather than showing positive and negative data equally. This can be addressed by having
a professional body appointed to evaluate and be able to question for both positive and negative data
such as accountant, economists, chartered surveyors [Seeley (1997:78)], etc. (3) Corrupting third party
to take advantage over opponent. This is a very serious action by someone corrupting someone else to
take an advantage during negotiations. A particular situation is of having a client s architect passing to
the buyer the estimate of property or other confidential information and the buyer will be in a better
position with the seller [Shell (1991:95)]. In this case the seller address this issue by taking advise
from two different Architects and which one to choose during negotiations is strictly confidential of
the seller. Negotiations are intended to strike a deal for the benefit of both parties, but it cannot happen
with one of the above situations and legal activities can be taken with such shortcomings or corrupt
practices. Reference: Shell G.R. (1991). When is it Legal to lie in Negotiations?. Sloan Management

Essay about Rhetorical Appeals and Ethical Argument Analysis
Rhetorical Appeals and Ethical Argument
The Word Nigga Is Only for Slaves and Sambos was written by Rob Nelson and first published in a
university newspaper in North Carolina. Later on, the article was so meaningful that it was re
published in the academic journal, the Journal of Blacks in Higher Education. In the article The Word
Nigga is only for Slaves and Sambos , Rob Nelson uses ethos, logos, and especially skillful pathos
appeals based on the history of slavery and the illustration about the future of African American, to
prove why he thinks the N word is not acceptable. By using ethical argument and those clever appeals,
Rob Nelson definitely persuades his young African American audience.

Most importantly, he did not try to win the argument no matter what, but he uses those powerful
appeals cleverly to convince his audience.
Rob Nelson brought this article with an extrinsic ethos in it based on the character of the author. Rob
Nelson is a well known African American editor in Chief of Chapel Hill s Daily Tar Heel newspaper.
Its estimated print readership of 38,000 makes it the largest community newspaper in Orange County
(DTH Media, 2011). This is a well known magazine for the audience; therefore, all the information
and article from Daily Tar Heel must be reliable to the audience. Since he was born and raised in an
African American community, Nelson usually reflects on issues about race and practicing racism in
his writing. Later on, the article was re published in the academic journal, the Journal of Blacks in
Higher Education, a journal that has a high academically reliable and strong authority. The readers
knew about Nelson and his authority before they read his article.
In addition, the article The Word Nigga Is Only for Slaves and Sambos also has a strong intrinsic ethos
itself based on the quality of his writing. The argument was organized in a logical way and easy to
follow. The article started from introducing the word Nigger and the history of it, then a specific story
from his own experience, then arguments about the affectionate term and its negative effects, and
finally with a metaphor illustration to end his article. He

My Reflection On My Mother Essay
A mother is someone who can take the place of all others but no one can take the place of her. There
are many different definitions you could use to describe your mother. My mother, Pam Krull, fits
every one of those. Today I decided to pick the three that I thought was most important to me. I admire
and aspire to be like my mother because of how supportive, how selfless, and how loving she is. My
mom has gone through a lot to get where she is today. I will begin by telling you a little bit about my
mom s background. My mom grew up outside of George with her parents, Harris and Bev Kaster, and
her three siblings, Erik, Brad, and Kristy. She attended George High School when they were still Blue
Jays. My mom was involved in a lot of different activities. She was in the play, large group and
individual speech, a cheerleader, played the drums in band, was in student council, secretary of her
class, REC club, band, and jazz band. In her free time she hung out with friends and her sister. She had
a few jobs growing up also. She babysat a lot, worked at the library, and the dentist office. My mother
also helped teach bible school, catechism, and attended youth group at Hope Reformed Church. My
mother met my dad, Doug Krull when she was a junior in high school. They dated for a while and
ended getting married. They then had three beautiful daughters, Allyssa, Megan, and Rebecca. My
mom went to Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa, to get her education

An Inspector Calls
An Inspector Calls One of the main themes of JB Priestley s play An Inspector Calls is how man treats

to protest for fair pay, reduced working hours, and better working conditions. The play is set in The
Birling Household during Shelia Birling and Gerald Crofts engagement party. The party comes to an
abrupt end when a unknown inspector arrives at their door with some news. The news that the

bad for what he did. It also shows he has learnt his lesson. Eva after falling pregnant with Eric s baby
went to a charity that helped woman in need. She was very desperate at this time and used Mrs Birling
name and a false story about her husband leaving her. Not know Mrs Birling was the head of the

to turn her case down pushing her over the edge. After finding out she was pregnant she told her to go
and find the father it was his responsibility not knowing it was Eric s baby. Priestley has created the
inspector to force the characters to look at their attitudes and lives; to hopefully awaken their social
conscience and make them take responsibility for their treatment of Eva Smith. I think he does this by
not making him like a character but like their conscience and by making his name Goole like Ghoul. I
don t think he succeeds as only 2 of the characters have changed their views and take repsonbitlity for
their actions where the rest have not changed they tried to sweep it under the carpet. Gerald and Mr

The Effect Of Body Composition, Size And Age On The...
The effect of body composition, size and age on the regulation of glucose in fasting individuals
Abstract: Glucose homeostasis is the process in which the body regulates glucose by secreting
hormones such as insulin and glucagon from the pancreas. It is controlled by a mechanism known as a
negative feedback loop. The experiment compares the blood glucose levels of three fasting individuals
at several intervals within 120 minutes, body measurements such as BMI and body fat percentage
were also recorded. Sample 1 and the experimental sample had similar blood glucose up until the
readings taken at 60 minutes however from there onward sample 1 did not regulate glucose as well as
the experimental sample. Sample 2 exhibited high blood glucose levels at every reading, showing that
they do not regulate glucose properly. In comparison to the other subjects sample 2 is the oldest, has
the highest BMI value and the largest waist to hip ratio, in conclusion body composition plays an
important role on how the body regulates glucose. Introduction: Glucose is a key source of energy for
much of the cells, tissues and organs within the body. The result of either a low or high blood glucose
level can have catastrophic effects on the body. For instance, a low blood glucose level; known as
hypoglycaemia, can lead to a person suffering from seizures, loss of consciousness and at extreme
cases death (Szablewski, 2011). Similarly, prolonged instances of high blood glucose levels; known as

  • 2. My First Day Vacation Essay Vacation an extended period of recreation, especially one spent away from home or in traveling. This vacation i ll definitely be far away from home. We first packed our bags for the trip. Then we drove to the airport. Although we got there a little late the line wasn t that big We also had special tickets which had us go to the front of the line. It was my first time ever riding an aircraft my mom said to chew gum for, my ears so they won t pop. well the first plane I rode was a little smaller than the other aircraft I would ride but it was still fun. Then we reached our next airport this time the plane was a bigger plane and, way nicer than the other one. All the window covers were down the whole flight because it had tv s built into the seats so I got my headphones and watched movies. My third flight of the day was going to Florida, which was our destination. It also was a bigger plane with tv s so it didn t feel that long. When we got to the airport it was super nice and enormous ,so we got our bags. Then we went on this train type of thing it was fun, yet short in the airport for, us to get to the rental car area to rent a car. When we did that, we left to a parking garage for rental cars there were a lot of nice cars there. When we got our call, it was a Van it was nice on the inside. When we reached our hotel it was dark out and, we were all tired. We had a sweet and my two 10 year cousins slept in one bed my aunt and mom slept in the other and me and my 13 year ... • 3. Religious Diversity Since their establishments, many universities in the United States of America, as well as elsewhere in the world, have grown the diversity of their student populations in more than several aspects including religious diversity. Albeit presented obstacles, this growth represents values of tolerance and freedom that Americans have generally come to hold in high regard. If one considers narrower communities, a collegiate institution such as the University of Southern California (USC) boasts its diversity through admittance of students from countries all over the world; in fact, it holds more international students than any other private university in the United States. With countless cultures mixed in one place, USC has a religious diversity that, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At the University of Southern California, as well as greater Los Angeles area, a larger part of the population participates in some aspect of religious congregational life, whether that be shown by attending mass at the Caruso Catholic Center or going to Sunday church service at Jefferson Church down the street. In fact, there are currently over 60 religious congregations located within the USC Defined Neighborhood Outreach Boundary, as well as many campus oriented student organizations such as Hillel and the LDS (Mormon) Institute of Religion ( Religious Congregations Near USC ). With such availability of and access to various religious backgrounds, students are naturally exposed to something outside their own perspectives that is educationally valuable. However, the University of Southern California as an institution surpasses sole religious diversity and certainly pushes for pluralism because it is intentional about bringing people from different backgrounds together to build positive bonds (Patel ... Beginning with the Nitya Ras, a representation of Radha and Krishna making love to each other through sacred song and dance, and eventually progresses to the Lila at the end, which includes text, song, and dance of events from when Krishna visited earth. (177 178) Halfway through is an intermission during which the Maharaj ji appears onstage by stepping through a curtain upstage and walks toward one of the corners. The music becomes quiet and then he pauses before lowering himself to the floor and bowing so that his forehead touches it. The goal and symbolism of this action is that he doesn t see the performers as actors but rather 5,000 year old people. (Mason). The Nitya Ras begins with the actors playing Krishna, Radha, and their servants along with the musicians taking their places on the stage, after which the curtain raises revealing the performers. In addition to dance, there are twenty minute intervals that include dialogue between Krishna and Radha called jhankis. Jhankis are tableaus during which the actors playing the deities hold in place and pose. (Mason). These twenty minute intervals allow members of the audience to approach Krishna and Radha in prayer. • 5. Hippies Counterculture Hippies. What are hippies? Are they the flower children from the 1960s, or do hippies actually go back further in history? Hippies are the counterculture to society. Their counterculture was one of rebellion a rebellion with a vision. While society viewed them as another subculture, the hippie counterculture viewed themselves differently. They believed they were the Disloyal Opposition to Establishment culture (Miller 87). The opposed culture did not originate in the 1960s; its roots are seen in the literary world as early as the 19th century in the works of Lord Bryon, Percy Shelley, and Mary Shelley. The prominent people of the Hippie Movement and these authors shared comparable views because of their rebellion against society. The love during the movement was indiscriminate and all embracing, fluid and changeable, directed at friend and foe alike (Miller 88). The definition of love can be perceived in a multitude of ways. For the hippies, it was a suitable disposition, a radiation of optimism for particular beliefs and actions. This era was freely giving in the love department without ethical conviction that seeped into physical actions. Predominantly, hippies lived by the motto love is nonviolence. Violence, they argued, was the product of a corrupt society and was one of that society s dead ends (Miller 89). In their eyes, practicing love gives organization. Love was shown by their charitable activities. They gave the public free food, ran free stores, and provided free places to sleep (Miller 89). Although, they tried to create a peace filled world ... • 6. The International Standards Organization ( Iso ) The International Standards Organization (ISO) produces guidelines for organizations to use as a quality management tool. ISO functions as an independent organization with no governmental ties, allowing themselves to create guidelines that are not catered more specifically to one country than another. One hundred and sixty two national standards bodies make up its membership and they help supply experts who will share knowledge and develop international standards. These voluntary, market relevant, and consensus based standards are produced as a result of the identification of a global need and are compiled through the work of international experts working in conjunction with one another. In 1987, the first version of ISO guidelines was released. It was heavily based on the older UK Standard BS 5750 with three kinds of quality management systems. An organization would select one of these systems by evaluating the scope of their activities (The British Assessment Bureau). ISO 9001:1987 Model for quality assurance in design, development, productions, installation, and servicing was developed for companies and organizations who dealt with creating new products. The 9002 version, Model for quality assurance in production, installation, and servicing was nearly identical to ISO 9001 with the exception of not dealing with new product creation. Numerous people have died due to terrorist and criminals who have guns. The rise of gun casualties has created a debate on whether or not you are allowed to own a gun. The amount of restrictions on owning a gun has recently made it hard to get a gun. If no one is able to have a gun, then people will not be able to protect themselves. There needs to be a limit on the amount of gun laws, however there needs to be stricter background checks so that criminals can not get guns easily. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Over the past couple of years, being able to access a gun has been too easy for criminals. They have been able to easily pass background checks. This is why there needs to be stronger background checks to protect people from criminals. Also, gun laws do not need to be too strong so that no one can protect themselves. In 2002 at the Appalachian School of Law [in Grundy, Virginia]. Hearing shots, two students went to their cars, got their guns and restrained the shooter until police arrested him (Guns Save Lives). This is an example of why having guns could help. If there were laws that prevented these 2 students to own guns, the whole situation could have been worse. There could have been more deaths but instead, since they had guns, they were able to control the situation and protect themselves. Lastly, Americans have always had the right to bear arms. The right to bear arms has been a long American tradition. From the time the colonists settled on North American soil, Americans have held weapons to protect themselves (The History of the Right to Bear Arms). If there were always laws then America would not have been America. Changing this would just lead more people to be mad and cause more problems. It will be better off if the laws remain the same. When comparing and contrasting the marketing strategy of two adult learning programs one must consider the University of Phoenix as one of those programs. The second that of a traditional university program with an online, adult centered add on program. Both programs require a marketing strategy that focus on the adult learner as consumer, but the University of Phoenix simply does marketing for adults more efficiently. This is likely due to the fact that by and large, the University of Phoenix is primarily an online program, with its focus squarely on the adult learner. University of Phoenix accomplishes this through the interactive website, targeted commercials in adult learner rich audience demographics, and easily navigated web content. Adult learner programs at traditional universities target the traditional college student, and by and large their websites have information for the adult earner tacked on to pages and pages of information about the dorm life, meal plans, and campus life. This is a fundamental difference that bears exploration, and likely frustrates potential students and sends them to a system which, like University of Phoenix, offers a more tailored approach for the busy adult learner who wishes to study from home. Hypothesis Vs Scientific Theory The difference between a hypothesis and a scientific theory is that a hypothesis is a proposed description while a scientific theory is a proven description for something. The difference between a prediction and a hypothesis is that a prediction is a guess at what the results are going to be referring to the proposed hypothesis, while a hypothesis is a proposed explanation where the experiment will be based off of. A testable hypothesis would be useful in scientific experiments because it is testable, also a directional hypothesis would be good because it is based off of theories. Every company has their own way to depreciate fixed assets based on their requirements and situations. The main reason for such a difference in strategies is showing the amount of profit in a particular period. In case of Delta they have increased the life of an asset showing low depreciation which leads to low operating expense resulting in higher profits. However for Singapore airline the operating profit is good and there is not much need to show lower depreciation, moreover it adds on to their value by showing a higher salvage value for the equipments they carry. The difference is policies if proper as the useful life of the asset and the salvage value largely depend the experience that the organization has in the field and usage of the equipment. In this case we can clearly see that Singapore airlines have a much smaller operation level than delta. 3. Assuming the average value of flight equipment that Delta had in 1993, how much of a difference do the depreciation assumptions it adopted on April 1, 1993 make? Evil people pull off these type acts: robbing a bank, violent killings of living creatures, and even mental abuse through verbal or physical actions. Many people always wonder, what was the initial purpose of committing such inhumane actions? They may say hatred, anger, and revenge are some of the causes of evil. Although these traits do cause the idea of evil in an individual, the inspiration for iniquitous intents is in fact sprouted through the unideal human traits of apathy and ego. One of the human traits that cause evil is apathy; for it makes people not consider the other individuals feelings and security. Every ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another example is in fact in our society. In modern society, people tend to act as bystanders, people who don t pay attention to their surroundings. Take into the account of witnessing the scenarios of someone being bullied and a homeless man begging for money. In the bullying scenario, most of the time, the people acting like bystanders do nothing about the situation at hand. Typically, the right idea is to address the stakes at hand, whether calling for help or even putting oneself out there. Unfortunately, our society ignores the fact of another human is being verbally or physically abused. We tend to be in our own little worlds when we encounter an event such as bullying due to the fact we feel as if there isn t a way we can help. Instead of helping a fellow peer with a challenge, we re afraid to put ourselves out there. We refuse because we mainly care for our well being or we simply don t believe we have what it takes to fix the situation; this leads to the feeling of apathy. The homeless person scenario is no different. When a homeless person begs for money, the common courtesy is to of course contribute any amount of money towards the homeless man; however, this concept ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Essay on Critical History of As I Lay Dying Nashia Horne 28 November 2011 English 290 Critical History Assignment Many of William Faulkner s books, especially As I Lay Dying focused on the South in the aftermath of the Civil War. The themes of his and other Southern authors included: a common Southern history, the significance of family, a sense of community and one s role within it, the Church and its burdens and rewards, racial tension, land and the promise it brings, one s social class and place, and, sometimes, the use of the Southern dialect. Adamowski cites Fairbairn s theory on constant oscillation and the desire for independence and fear of abandonment. Darl only experiences the isolation side and this choice is made for him. Adamowski points out parallels between Dewey Dell and Addie as she is pregnant and trying to violate the violation through an abortion. This contributes to the incestual undertones that Adamowski illustrates between Jewel and Addie, and Darl and Dewey Dell. Adamowski believes that there are Oedipal complexes present in both Jewel and Darl who displace their love on his horse and Dewey Dell, respectively. Addie is portrayed as a callused and irreverent character, but Adamowski believes that he triumphs. Also Anse is portrayed as a stranger/outsider and this contributes to Addie s role as a father/phallic symbol, instead of just as a maternal figure. Carolyn Norma Slaughter s article addresses the idea of language and meaning in the novel, with particular focus on Addie s view of these themes. She points out that the story revolves around Addie, whose death is the reason for the novel, and to whom the central chapter of the book is given. Because of this, it s important to note her ideas about words and what they mean. Slaughter ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Fossil fuels remain the dominant source of energy powering the world economy, supplying 60% of the energy increase out to 2035. Within that, gas looks set to become the fastest growing fossil fuel, spurred on by ample supplies and supportive environmental policies. 1.1 BACKGROUND From the advert of the modern oil and gas industry, petroleum geologists and engineers have followed a conventional route for exploration; look for hydrocarbon source rocks, find reservoir quality rocks where hydrocarbons can accumulate, identify a trapping mechanism and then drill a well. But a revolution is taking place in the exploration and production (E P) industry. Rocks that in the past were of little interest, other than as potential source rocks, are today being actively pursued as potential reservoirs. When considering unconventional resource plays, the focus is on finding organic shale s. This development represents a fundamental shift in the way exploration companies consider resource plays. Engineers and geologists studying shale gas resources find that reservoir can lead to process adaptation and refinement of techniques. It is important to integrate data from many sources and at many scales to optimally drill, complete and stimulate wells to produce hydrocarbons from their source rocks. • 25. The Women s Rights Movement In Iron Jawed Angels When thinking about feminism in today s society we tend to direct our minds and thoughts to a more radical and powerful train of thought. Feminism has been going on for centuries, with two main ideologies at the forefront; liberal and cultural feminism. Someone who identifies as a liberal feminist is someone who believes that women and men are a like and equal in most respects and deserve equal roles and opportunities (Wood Fixmer Oraiz, 2017, p. 58). And cultural feminism is someone who identifies as someone who believes that men and women are fundamentally differently; you have different rights, role and opportunities (Wood Fixmer Oraiz, 2017, p. 58). The women s rights movement can be understood and broken down into three waves . The first wave of women s movements in the United States took place from approximately 1840 to 1925. When looking at this wave from the Liberal Ideology, they fought for women to have the right to vote, access to high education, equal employment opportunities and property rights. During this wave the infamous, and ground breaking, Seneca Falls Convention took place in New York in 1898. Here, 32 men and 68 women gathered to catalogue these specific events that women were not allowed to participate in. During the 1996 Summer Olympics, held in Atlanta, the media reported heavily on the beauty of the muscular bodies of the competitors. Of course this motivated so many Americans and people around the world to want to look just like them. But this is not possible without encountering issues that everyone in America faces. Consequences Of Statistical Inferences Providing A Result Consequences of statistical inferences providing a result rather than an answer could include researchers incorrectly applying related management implications to their studies, when in reality they are applying a treatment that was not correctly interpreted. This could result in the new study producing a non significant result when a biologically significant result should have been detected. Researchers desperate for a significant P value may claim an observation that was not present in the study, or perform researchers degrees of freedom, which is defined as decision making as researchers conduct the study, and not beforehand. b. Truth cannot be derived from a single study; it must be repeated to increase the precision of the study and therefore the strength of inference made about the results. Often, using the same sample and similar methods will not procure similar results, and therefore a consensus of studies should be provided to make a general claim. Studies that truly follow the scientific method and include randomization and repeatability will be closer to discovering the truth than other studies. c. Eva after falling pregnant with Eric s baby went to a charity that helped woman in need. She was very desperate at this time and used Mrs Birling name and a false story about her husband leaving her. Not know Mrs Birling was the head of the panel. After hearing Eva use her name Mrs Birling took an instant disliking to her and used her power to turn her case down pushing her over the edge. After finding out she was pregnant she told her to go and find the father it was his responsibility not knowing it was Eric s baby. Priestley has created the inspector to force the characters to look at their attitudes and lives; to hopefully awaken their social conscience and make them take responsibility for their treatment of Eva Smith. • 35. The Effect Of Body Composition, Size And Age On The... The effect of body composition, size and age on the regulation of glucose in fasting individuals Abstract: Glucose homeostasis is the process in which the body regulates glucose by secreting hormones such as insulin and glucagon from the pancreas. It is controlled by a mechanism known as a negative feedback loop. The experiment compares the blood glucose levels of three fasting individuals at several intervals within 120 minutes, body measurements such as BMI and body fat percentage were also recorded. Sample 1 and the experimental sample had similar blood glucose up until the readings taken at 60 minutes however from there onward sample 1 did not regulate glucose as well as the experimental sample. Sample 2 exhibited high blood glucose levels at every reading, showing that they do not regulate glucose properly. In comparison to the other subjects sample 2 is the oldest, has the highest BMI value and the largest waist to hip ratio, in conclusion body composition plays an important role on how the body regulates glucose. Introduction: Glucose is a key source of energy for much of the cells, tissues and organs within the body. The result of either a low or high blood glucose level can have catastrophic effects on the body. For instance, a low blood glucose level; known as hypoglycaemia, can lead to a person suffering from seizures, loss of consciousness and at extreme cases death (Szablewski, 2011). Similarly, prolonged instances of high blood glucose levels; known as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Paul was wearing a red carnation in his buttonhole, and that particularly offends the faculty members who think the flower sums up his flippant attitude. His teachers have a difficult time articulating their true feelings about Paul, deep down, they believe that Paul does not want to be in school. They lash out at Paul, but he shows no emotion and smirks throughout the barrage of criticism, which only proves their theory. The teachers depart shortly after; they feel embarrassed about their viciousness toward Paul. His teachers left the building dissatisfied and unhappy; humiliated to have felt so vindictive toward a mere boy... (Cather). In the end, it is the principal who speaks with Paul s father where he is informed that Paul is forbidden to return to school. The discontinuation of Paul s high school career may have made him feel less alienated since his peers had been making him feel just as secluded. Paul s love for Carnegie Hall was where he felt most important. Paul would lie about his experiences to his classmates in hopes of them wanting to befriend him. He had never lied with pleasure, even at ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
