2. Analysis Of Angela Davis s The Black Liberation Movement
Malia Villani World Issues November 30, 2015 Angela Davis: An Autobiography Angela Davis offers
a new perspective of activism during the Black Liberation Movement through her autobiography.
Using personal stories, she sheds light on the obstacles that she had to face whilst growing up in a
predominantly white community while simultaneously trying to balance school, being active in
creating a change, constant hiding, jail time, and wondering when the view against colored people
would change. Davis s autobiography is a narrative of strength, perseverance, determination, and love
for one s culture and people. Davis starts off her autobiography by setting up the scene prior to her
capture in the chapter titled Nets . It includes the struggle of having to portray herself through
numerous identities so that the police could not track her down; to further explain, Davis is one of the
FBI s most wanted for murder, kidnapping, and conspiracy in connection with the Marin County
Courthouse shootout (p. 11). She was handed off to many of her close friends and others who agreed
to keep her hidden and safe, until one day, she was caught. Police bombarded her with questions
before she could answer and then detained her at the House of Detention in New York where she was
separated from her accomplice and friend, David Poindexter. She was placed in an all women prison
that had a high population of non white prisoners. Within the prison walls, the women are mistreated,

a positive Candida on the Affirm prep. The rest of the testing for that was negative. She also had a
urine culture done that showed greater than 100,000 colony forming units of enterococcus species and
she was given a prescription at that point, for Macrobid, which she has subsequently finished. She said

Twisted Words In court today Jan 3, 2000 the state s attorney began to call her witnesses. One by one
the principle, the nurse, the police officer, the mother, and two students Clark and Kent. The states

remember. She submitted a letter supposedly Clark had written. As she unfolded the page the room
seem to eerily echo from the silence in the court with each furl of the paper. My heart pounded as if it

letter. Unfailingly Clark could not remember the letter only that his name was on it no matter how the

twenty minutes of waiting Mr. Ziegler received a call and we went back to the courthouse. My heart
palpitated a moment when I saw the jurors come into the courtroom. Taking a deep breath I let it out
slowly thanking God for bringing me this far with my sanity intact. As the juror read their verdict of
not guilty on both counts I had to fight back the tears that were welling up in my eyes and hugged both
attorneys with me. The judge extended his congratulations outside the courtroom and some of the
jurors extended their congratulations as well. Some even said they have sat on many cases with
teachers being accused when children exaggerate the story because their parents prod them along to
pursue a case to get money especially from new teachers. Another juror stated the case never should

6. Characters in A Perfect Day for Bananafish by J.D....
Characters in A Perfect Day for Bananafish by J.D. Salinger The characters in Salinger?s ?A Perfect
Day for Bananafish? seem to exist in opposite worlds. On one hand, Salinger creates Muriel to
represent materialism and superficiality and on the other hand, he creates Sybil to provide justification
of the child like innocence rarely found in society. Salinger?s main character, Seymour, is aware of the
superficiality expressed in Muriel?s world and chooses not to be apart of it. Seymour wants to be a
part of the simple immaterial world that Sybil represents. Nevertheless, Seymour find himself trapped
between two worlds unable to regain the one he desires. Therefore, Salinger bases ?A Perfect Day for
Bananafish? on Seymour?s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For instance, when referring to how many tigers ran around the tree Sybil commented ?Only six!?(14),
similarly when asked how many bananas the banana fish were eating she exclaimed ?Six!?(16).
Firstly, Sybil?s use of the number ?six? suggests that she is repeating the phase phrase six figure but in
a simplified manner. Secondly, Sybil?s reference to the phrase six figure depicts her mothers
monopolizing influence on her. For instance, the bathing suit purchased by Sybil?s mother, is
composed of adult colors rather than the youthful ?blue? that Seymour expects to see. A similar idea is
expressed by Sybil?s mother when spreading suntan ?oil? on Sybil?s back in a downwards motion. If
yellow is then a adult color and symbolizes materialism, and ?downwards motion? symbolizes
oppression then Sybil?s mothers behavior may suggest that she is discouraging her daughter?s naive
behavior and attempting to force her to grow up prematurely. Sybil is most likely unaware of her
mother?s influence on her child like manner and therefore she will never fully appreciate her present
youth until it is lost. In contrast, Seymour is revived by Sybil?s innocence and near the end of the
story ?The young man suddenly picked up one of Sybil?s wet feet, which were drooping over the end
of the float, and kissed the arch?(17). In essence, Seymour was thanking her for verifying to him that
life can still be so simple. Seymour knows that if he was not

adopts a comical yet tragic tone in order to describe the situations where honor is seen at high value,
but has the potential to accrue danger. The white scarf lays emphasis on the differences between De

13. Mistakes In Sweat And The Gilded Six Bit
Everybody in their life has made mistakes, but there is a difference between the small mistakes that
people make on a daily basis, and those that can cause life altering events. In the three Zora Neal
Hurston stories, Sweat, Spunk, and The Gilded Six Bit, characters all make terrible mistakes that
affect the people that they love most. The outcomes of each story though are very different as the
characters face tough choices and deal with them in very different ways. Though these situations deal
with many of the same issues, the ability or inability for those in the stories to forgive individuals
shows their true character and values. In The Gilded Six Bits Joe and Missie May are able to forgive
one another because they both realize that their spouse isn t perfect, but in Sweat, Delia cannot forgive

17. Comparing The Faerie Queene And Sir Gawain And The Green...
The two epic poems that will be analyzed in the paper will be, The Faerie Queene and Sir Gawain and
the Green Knight. Throughout this paper it will be theorized as to how and what influences the
continuous developments throughout the poems and of how the authors of these masterpiece stories
uses important symbolism to portray their Christian beliefs in this era of time. The Faerie Queene was
written during the late 15th century when the Reformation Era, a religious revolution that would
define today s beliefs and structures took place. Edmund Spenser wrote The Faerie Queene during this
time in history when England had separated itself from the Catholic Church and went on to create its
own Protestant church. And this poem is full of religion and politics. This poem is almost exactly like
a guide on how an individual can go on and live a holy life if they follow the six values that are
portrayed in each book that is written. Which is obvious because there is six different books that are
dedicated to each value. The six values are: holiness, temperance, chastity, friendship, justice, and
courtesy. So, this shifts the readers focus to all the religious things that are portrayed throughout the
entirety of these books. Throughout the epic poem it is believed that Edmund Spenser holds
Protestantism as a true religion and that Catholicism and its church was false and evil and that theme
is depicted right at the start of the poem, when Red Cross first encounters the monster,

18. AT T And T-Mobile Merger
Case: AT T and T Mobile Merger
Question 4 :
Should the merger be approved?
The AT T and T Mobile merger should not be approved, as the merger may cause more harm than
benefits to consumers and for the related market. A horizontal practice is one that involves mergers
and activities in the same industry. A horizontal merger comes under Section 7 of Clayton Act and
under Section 2 of Sherman Act, as it would create a monopoly. As AT T and T Mobile both operates
in same industry, the merger is clearly horizontal. The concern with horizontal arrangements is that it
may increase market power, leading to lessened competition and higher prices. Many of interest
groups(like other companies like SprintNextel, the Competitive Carriers Association, Cellular South,
Leap Wireless, MetroPCS, Computer and Communications Industry Association, Yankee Group,
group of seven NGOs including Consumer unions , National Hispanic Media Coalition, Future of
Music Coalition, etc.) opposed. Most of them expressed concerns that the merger will stifle the
competition, may result in increased prices for consumers, will reduce innovation and technological
progress in the field, and it will leave with fewer options for consumers to shop around for cell phone
plans. The decrease in consumer choice happens as the merger will reduce the number of mobile
wireless carrier who has decent nationwide coverage. Consumers Union stated that there is great deal

absurd hope that they would return to the Lonely Mountain with the help of the burglar Bilbo. As they
progressed through the forest and regions, their hopes only increased and the thought that the King
under the Mountain would be reestablished became more tangible; but with that their lust for richness
increased with the looting of the troll s hideout, and the killing of the goblin king. Smaug was indeed a
great obstacle, greater than the goblins or spiders, yet his slaying and the reestablishment of the King
under the Mountain was still building up to the war and Thorin s

21. Discoveries In The Double Helix By James Watson
Discoveries
The Double Helix, written by James Watson, begins with him being 17 years old already heading of to
study at college. He was currently studying at University of Chicago in his 3rd year. He was studying
Zoology and was hoping for a PHD. As a scientist, Watson questioned the essence of life and mostly
how the information of life was copied. Therefore he wanted to be a geneticist. He observed Linus
pauling and his work and applied to caltech but was unfortunately declined. Therefore in Indiana he
went after DNA and its meaning and form. Over this process he worked with many people and came
to many discoveries that help them in their journeys.
A helix
The discovery of the Alpha helix came up when, James Watson was one day alerted that Linus Pauling
had partially solved the structure of proteins. Following up on this James found out that, in on of
Pauling s talks he revealed the alpha helix model. This was a large event in the race for DNA because
Linus was the first person to propose something solidly correct about DNA structure. This new event
however, did not provide a lot of progress for James s work because of at the time how he could not
tell if this suggestion was correct or not. Later on this information did help them because they took on
the helical shape with the addition of x ray evidence.
Calculations of Cochran/crick
The Calculations of Cochran and crick came about because of a letter containing information on a
theory for X ray diffraction. This

22. Shakespeare’s Brilliant Use of Symbolism
To be or not to be that is the question (Kittredge, 993). This is one of William Shakespeare s best
known and used quotes. Many who use it do not even know what piece it is taken from, or what
exactly it means. It just sounds like a cool, tragic, Shakespearean quote to use to sound more
intelligent. And that is the sad truth. Shakespeare s works are filled with quotes, soliloquies, and
experts, like this one, that are filled with innuendos, imagery, word choice, etc. One very important
literary technique used by Shakespeare, in all of his works, is his symbolism, which portrayed
Shakespeare s life, time period, and messages he wished to get across to his audience. He also used his
symbolism to satirize whomever he wished. Shakespeare s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

(Act III, Scene I, ll 56 69).
Hamlet s uncertainty of death is felt throughout this entire soliloquy. Later in it he says, But that the
dread of something after death, The undiscover d country from whose bourn No traveler returns,
puzzles the will, And makes us rather bear those ills we have Than fly to others that we know not of?
(Act II, Scene I, ll 78 82).
In this expert the traveler and the undiscovered country symbolizes someone traveling in death onto
the unknown after life. This entire soliloquy symbolizes Hamlet s uncertainties of death. One other
example of symbolism that is used in Hamlet is a serpent. The serpent, which Hamlet s father s ghost
refers his uncle to, represents the evil and deceit that the uncle used to get the crown. A serpent, many
times in literature, represents something that is secretive, evil, and tempting, just as Lucifer, in the
form of a serpent was in the garden of Eden. Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild
animals the Lord God had made (Genesis 3:1). The ghost of Hamlet s father says of his uncle, Tis
given out that, sleeping in my orchard, A serpent stung me. So the whole ear of Denmark Is by a
forged process of my death Rankly abus d. But know, thou noble youth, The serpent that did sting thy
father s life Now wears his crown. (Act I, Scene V, ll 35 39).
And just as the serpent tempted Eve in the Garden of Eden, Hamlet s uncle tempted his mother and

24. Sports And Underrepresentation In Sports
Asian people are under represented in America. There isn t very many of them in sports. Only 1.9% of
people in the National Football League(NFL) are Asian. Only 2.1% of people in Major League
Baseball( MLB) are Asian. Worst of all Asians only make up .2% of the National Basketball
Association(NBA). Asians are even underrepresented in pop culture. White actors often play the roles
of Asians in movies. In the movie Ghost in a Shell The main character Motoko Kusanagi was played
by Scarlett Johansson. In the movie Star Trek Into Darkness, the main character Khan Noonien Singh
was played by Benedict Cumberbatch. Asians aren t just underrepresented in Hollywood, they are also
underrepresented on television. The television series Fresh Off the Boat is the first prime time sitcom,
in 20 years since All American girl by Margaret Cho, to feature an Asian American cast. In the United
States, we have more than 50 million Asians but they are criminally underrepresented in sports and
pop culture. Many Asian kids grow up and don t have many famous people of their same race to look
up to. These kids go through their whole life with nobody to look up to.
I have a great solution to this problem. My solution would lead to more Asian people in sports. It
would lead to more Asian people in pop culture. Asian roles in movies would be played by people who
are Asian, which will lead to films being more authentic. Asian kids growing up will be able to see
people of their same race being

25. Aromatherapy Research Paper
Aromatherapy is the practice of using the volatile oils from plants for therapeutic wellbeing. Used by
many ancient cultures, with the first discovery dating back more than 6000 years ago in Iraq. The
name aromatherapy was created by the French chemist Rene Maurice Gattefosse (1881 1950) whilst
studying and working in his family perfumery business. Similar in nature to herbs, they have complex
chemical components that can stimulate the body to trigger a healing response. These essential oils
can be utilised in massage, inhalations, compresses, added to baths and used for toxic free cleaning.
Chakra Balancing originating from ancient Indian traditions, the chakras are the basic energy centres
of the body. Derived from a Sanskrit word that means wheel . there are 7 main chakras which are
aligned vertically from the base of the spine to the crown of the head. The chakras help to circulate the
vital life force energy throughout our bodies and each zone correlates with different areas of the body.
When any of these energy portals are blocked it will affect the smooth flow of energy through the
body and can present as emotional, spiritual or physical disease.

26. Evolution Of The Freeway System Essay
The Evolution of the Freeway System in Los Angeles
Society has always been a continuous community of movement; trying to get from one place to
another. Commuting citizens, cargo and information has always been a significant contributor to the
economic and societal life of many municipalities. From the industrial age, society has been
progressively reliant on different transportation systems in order to accomplish trade, distribution of
supplies, tourism and so on. As the suburban sprawl continues to expand, technology advances. The
resources needed to attain successful transportation has evolved over many historical revolutions to
accommodate a growing population and the immense density of a growing city. Developments in
mechanics has permitted people to move faster with greater amount of supplies and travel longer
distances, but not without challenges. Urban planners have an outlying role in freeway development
that explains the challenges needed to be overcome to excel in successful transportation services.
Urban planners have the duty to conduct political negotiations between different levels of the
government to excel and expand our urban society. Information needed to fully understand the
evolution will demonstrate the importance and impact freeway systems have on urban and suburban
lifestyles.

27. The Ethics And Legal Implications Of The Internal Revenue...
The complexity of the Internal Revenue Code has been the source of genuine concern, standup jokes,
and political theater for years, but its greatest effect on practitioners of tax is to create a myriad of
complicated gray areas and thorny questions that are not quickly resolved to a neat yes or no answer.
This ambiguity has resulted in a situation where the ethical and legal implications of tax practice are
serious considerations for any professional who is engaging in this line of work.
Since 1881, U.S.C. 31 has regulated who can represent other people to the Treasury Department,
which encompasses the IRS. This representation, called practice before the IRS, includes not just
representation in court, but also all forms of communication on behalf of the taxpayer, including
written documentation, phone calls, and interviews. From the beginning, the qualities required to
practice before the IRS were good character, good reputation, competence and qualifications ( Beyond
the Basics. ) Today, those practicing tax or intending to do so need to be aware of a long list of
standards and requirements in order to be compliant with both the IRS, as outlined in Circular 230,
and the standards of the profession as outlined by the AICPA in Statements of Standards for Tax
Services.
Circular 230 covers an extensive list of the requirements, laid out in multiple sections of the Internal
Revenue Code, of being in compliance as a tax preparer and representative before the IRS, from

28. Catullus 32 Analysis
For this assignment, I did the translation of Catullus 32. Within this poem, the author uses a sexual
tone. Originally, in the poem, it s a guy talking to a woman who people think is a prostitute, but
throughout the poem, it s a love poem to Ipsitilla. Within the original poem, the reader can see how the
author created their own word fuckification , how the tone starts to change into more of lust, not
loving about Ipsitillia, and also it s demanding in the way he wants her to come see him. With this
poem, people throughout the years have translated it, and somewhat changed it up a little bit, but it s
amazing to see how another person how they look at the poem and interpret it. For example, in
Translation 14, written in 1914 by C. Sesar, he states and let me take a nap with you, (line 3); out of
all the translations, Sesar is the only one to add that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With the translation I did I put a spin on it so I changed up the speakers, and I made it to the point of
view of a woman talking to a guy, and I made it as they were in love and not just a fling. I guess by
changing the male and female role you can stay the poem is not the same anymore, but instead, I said
it was a woman talking to this guy about how much she wants him and cares for him. That was the
same thing the original poem was trying a convey, but it just showed it from a male s point of view.
Also, I took some of the more sexual words out, and instead of trying to show a loving relationship
between the two saying it s something deeper than what comes to the surface. In my opinion, in the
original poem and some of the translations it came off as lust for the woman, but I wanted to take that
in a way to show a loving relationship and how these two people can t wait to meet up and see one
another. From my rough draft to the revised translation I really didn t take anything out I just added
some lines so it could flow

29. Police Brutality a Violation of Human Rights
Police brutality is one of the most serious human rights violations in the United States and it occurs
everywhere. The reason why I chose this topic is because police brutality happens all the time in the
United States and still remains unrecognized by many. Additionally, the public should be
knowledgeable about this topic because of how serious this crime can be and the serious outcomes
that police brutality can have on other police officers and the public. The job of police officers is to
maintain public order, prevent, and detect crimes. They are involved in very dangerous and stressful
occupations that can involve violent situations that must be stopped and controlled by any means. In
many confrontations with people, police may find ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They prefer to keep all of those types of things private. Even if an officer is caught using excessive
force, the bill of rights limit the abilities of a police commissioner or chief to suspend the officer that
is being accused , and requires that the suspended officer continues to get their benefits and pay. Most
of the time there s nothing that can be done to properly punish an officer who abuses their power due
to the fact that the officers won t tell on each other. Newspapers, television stations and tabloids are
getting involved in the sensitive subject of police brutality. It is more common to turn on a television
or read a paper and
see headlines like, Police officer brutally beats a homeless man for example. There are many cases of
the police using excessive force and corruption within a department and even debates on whether high
speed pursuits are necessary (Deshon, 2000). It can be that officers may not have a full understanding
of their oath of office or the ethical code they attained. It could also be that they are corrupt cops.
Officers go through training and in doing so are also educated on the ethical behaviors and oath of an
officer. Police agencies all take the same oath.
Police brutality in the United States, is a problem that must be solved. It all begins with the police and
civilians trusting one another. Just like the words that can be seen on the side of an NYPD squad car,

Questions 1. There were a total of four leaders in the film it was Herman Boone the head coach of the
Black team, Bill Yoast the assistant white coach, Gerry Bertier the white leader of the athletics teams
and lastly Julius Campbell the black leader of the athletics teams. Throughout this movie there is a lot
of racism but football is the main event of the movie. It s about trusting the team s leader and working
together to beat the opposing team. Boone made it clear he wants to win every football game, but

Gerry Bertier and Julius Campbell are unofficial leaders of the white and black teams respectively.
The relationship between the two coaches become one of the main reasons why the two teams become
closer and form relationships. There are two school one being Alexandria and the other T.C Williams
high school. The European coach is replaced by an African American coach and this causes tension to
arise when different races are forced to play in a team together, but they are taken to a camp for two
weeks where most of these problems are solved and the conflict between many team mates are
communicated and also solved. The Titans play side by side together as a team and have a
phenomenal season which brings the team and the city closer together. 2. Coach Boone is a manager

32. Difference Between Uxi And Ux
Looking for a one liner and easy to understand difference between UI and UX design ? Just so you
know, you have stumbled upon just the right source.
In a layman language, UX is the experience that a person has as they interact with your product and
UI is basically the look and feel of the product.
Ofcourse this is the simplest version of the UX and UI definition and is giving a very limited view of
the subject. And obviously for a detailed version, one will have to dive in deep.
Let s understand it in bits and pieces first.
What is UX?
The technical definition given by Don Norman and Jakob Nielsen says, The first requirement for an
exemplary user experience is to meet the exact needs of the customer, without fuss or bother. Next,
comes simplicity and elegance that produce products that are a joy to own, a joy to use.

What s the difference between UI and UX?
Go through the take of various influencers on the subject.
1. Ken Norton Partner at Google Ventures, Ex Product Manager at Google
Start with a problem we d like to solve. UX design is focused on anything that affects the user s
journey to solve that problem, positive or negative, both on screen and off. UI design is focused on
how the product s surfaces look and function. The user interface is the only piece of that journey. I like
the restaurant analogy I ve heard others use: UI is the table, chair, plate, glass, and utensils. UX is
everything from the food, to the service, parking, lighting, and music.
2. Andy Budd Co founder of Clearleft, Founder of UX London
Common logic would suggest that, if you design the UI, and a person experiences a product through
the UI, that makes you a User Experience Designer. However, this would also imply that designing
your own home makes you an architect, and fixing a tap makes you a
