The Impact Of The Dutch Influence On Indonesia
The Dutch Empire s first influence on Indonesia is on their thoughts both intellectually and horridly.
According to a documentary by Kate Humble, the VOC, a Dutch owned trading organization, took a
lot of the Banda Islands , a group of islands located in the eastern side of Indonesia, land, valuables,
and hope when they settled there. They murdered their chiefs and turned their land into VOC
buildings. This lead them to have horrific thoughts. Humble mentioned that even mentioning VOC to
the people of Banda, will flashed their minds to this horror. So, this means that the people of Indonesia
still remember the Dutch s legacy and it is not in a good way. They still remember when Jan
Peiterszoon Coen invaded their island and took everything away from them. Coen destroyed ... Show

The Dutch mainly ruined more than helping it though. According to Britannica.com, the Dutch used
the VOC to overrun multiple Indonesian communities, mainly Banda Islands communities, and take
their valuables with them. They also murdered the Indonesian tribal chiefs to show the people to not
mess with the VOC or the penalty will be deadly. This ruined multiple communities as they have no
leaders to lead them from this situation. When the leaders are gone, the citizens of the tribes easily fall
because they have no one to lead them. Also, according to Adi Sudirman s book about Indonesian
history, the Dutch and the VOC used sneaky ways to trick the Indonesians to trust them and easily
take their land, valuables, and communities. They took the monopolies of multiple Indonesian
commodities so that they can decide the price and their value. This means that the VOC took over
commodities in Indonesia so that they can do their own bidding with its monopolies. The VOC used
strategies that are very sneaky and cause their victims to easily lose the fight. Unfortunately, there are
no good side of this influential actions the VOC

Ginger, The, Or Underground Growing, Part Of The Zingiber...
Ginger is the rhizome, or underground growing, part of the Zingiber officinale plant.
Discussed in Greek literature dating as far back as 200 B.C., it has been used for various reasons
throughout history and in the present day. Its popularity is attributed to its multi purpose benefits in
humans ranging from medicinal advantages to economic. Furthermore, ginger is used as a memory
stimulant, digestive stimulant, and opener of hepatic obstructions, aphrodisiac1 Ginger is a main
staple in traditional herbal medicine for many different cultures, such as the Chinese, Japanese, and
Americans. While its popular use may be culinary, ginger is used, in the medical field, for much more

Confucius wrote that he did not go without ginger when he ate. In the
Chinese culture, ginger was found to be very helpful in treating toothaches, symptoms of cold,
influenza, and hangover. Today, the most common use of ginger, in Chinese medicine, is as a spice in
cooking, and as a medicinal combatant of nausea due to morning sickness,
Elana Masikhaev motion sickness, and food contamination. Ginger is usually given either in the form
of a tea, or as a powder for easy consumption.5 Before British surgeon, Dr. James Lindt, discovered
that lime can treat scurvy, 5th century Chinese sailors were using ginger for the same effect due to its
vitamin C value.1
Also acting as a staple in Japanese culture, ginger was used to treat spinal and join pain. There have
been experiments conducted that examine the effects of ginger on arthritic knee pain in attempts to
find natural alternatives to non steroidal anti inflammatory agents.
These studies have found that ginger can be placed slightly below ibuprofen for managing arthritic
pain.2 A retrospective study was conducted, involving 28 patients with rheumatoid arthritis, 18 with
osteoarthritis, and 10 with muscular discomfort. The study found that the patients who took ginger
reported less pain and inflammation. More research has to be done on the exact mechanism, but there
is some speculation that this effect is due to the anti inflammatory effects that ginger possesses in
blocking cyclooxygenase

Unit 3 Revolutionary War Period
Unit 3: Revolutionary War Period
These Patriots act like little children like William Pitt said: This is the mother country, they are the
children; they must obey and we prescribe. William Pitt of England. Moments, when they act like little
kids, is when the Boston Massacre happened, Boston tea party happened, and when they need the
intolerable Act. To begin with, most of the Patriots were pretty mad at England so what do they do
when they aren t satisfied with the acts, they try to kill themselves by shouting Fire and throwing clubs
at British officials. The officers were just defending but when one of them fell and accidentally fired
the rest fired as well. Simple minded people have a hard time understanding something like an Act ...

To begin with, when the Colonist dumped our prices Tea into the harbor I was actually really surprised
because I thought the problem was resolved when the Townshend Act was removed except for the
taxes on Tea. If the Colonist just could have looked at the good stuff that the mother country had done
then this War would ve been avoided but instead, they decide to create a list that states what King
George had done which was just plain stupid not to add anything good. Secondly, when I saw what
Samuel Adams had written I felt angry at how people thought that horrible night had gone down. The
worst part is that many people believe this garbage and now innocent troops are being punished from
this. This all could have been avoided is the Patriots didn t have anger management problems and just
rethought their actions than 5 people wouldn t die. Also shouldn t they have been asking to be killed
and instead try to reason with them? Lastly, I felt like the intolerable was a last ditch effort to help take
control of the Colonist and punish those who misbehave. Another thing this Act disbanded was those
town meetings which were actually used as a place to make a plan to rebel. If only people could
follow the rules then all these taxes would pass and besides people in Britain had to pay for more than
you did. In the end, if the Colonist would have just followed the rules and just pay taxes like normal
people would the events like the Boston Massacre, Boston tea party, and Intolerable Act would have

Symbolism In The Raven
Raven or Ghost? Would it be relieving to have a reminder of your late loved one(s) for every second
of every day? Or would it be rather aggravating; having to commemorate that moment over and over
again? The Raven, written by Edgar Allan Poe is a very prominent gothic literature piece. Having to
deal with his long lost love, the speaker is taunted by this raven who mysteriously appeared one dark
and dreary night outside his chamber window. The speaker is forewarned of his long lost love, Lenore,
by the raven showing up. A lot of people now a days refer back to this piece to help them understand
loss, and heartbreak. Many writers use birds as symbols of hope, freedom, and light, but Poe on the
other hand, uses the raven as a reminder or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He opened the door, deep into that darkness peering, long [he] stood there wondering, fearing...and the
only word there spoken was the whispered word, Lenore? (25,28). Having a little bit of curiosity, and
relief, he presumes to think the tapping was his dear Lenore, although, he only saw darkness. In
contrast to that, it s kind of like when people are scared or they are in the dark and they need comfort,
so they think about their happy place to feel safe; the speaker was thinking about his happy place,
Lenore. Furthermore, as the speaker was opening the door, the poem refers to him as curious and
scared. Sort of a sick gut feeling, it has him thinking, what if Lenore was really here? There is a lot of
emotion going on in this scene. For example, have you ever had to give a speech or talk in front of a
humongous audience? That is what he was feeling at the moment. Before the raven even appears, it
already has him thinking about Lenore and if she s really back. After the speaker hears the tapping
once more, he realizes it s coming from the window. He opens the window and already the, ebony bird

Quiz 2 on Dracula One of the most important elements in Dracula is imagery, and I believe Bram
Stroker uses sleeping to show weakness in his characters and to develop a sense of danger. Uniquely,
in the Victorian age, people believed a person s mind was only healthy when they were asleep, and
their bodies were safer when awake. Of course, this goes hand in hand with the story so far in Dracula,
because the majority of the danger in Dracula takes place at nighttime when people are sleeping.
Furthermore, I believe this may be why Stroker has placed such a big emphasis on sleeping
throughout Dracula; in fact, Stroker demonstrates how sleeping puts a person in their most vulnerable
state. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nay, let me warn you with all seriousness, that should you leave these rooms you will not by chance
go to sleep in any other part of the castle (34 35). From the start, Stroker tells Johnathan Harker it is
unwise to sleep anywhere in the castle, besides his room. Of course, this gives me an unnerving
feeling and a curious thought as to what else is in the castle, but I know it would be wise for Harker to
heed Dracula s words. In the end, Harker did not listen to Dracula s words and he found himself in
grave danger when he awoke to three blood thirsty women standing in the same room he fell asleep in.
However, Dracula stepped in and saved Harker, but I found out exactly how weak a person is when
they are asleep in an unsecured

Sunrise On The Veld Analysis
In Ms. McDonald s classroom, one learns that what you have does not define who you are. Even
though you have more or less than someone does not mean they are any better or worse than you.
When it comes to Linda s English 11 course you are put in the role of everything from a king to a little
boy in Africa.
In the story of Macbeth William Shakespeare reviews a story of a man named Macbeth who wanted to
become King, he wanted so bad to be king that he went to the extremes of killing his cousin to get
there. It all starts with a couple of witches that tell him that one day he will become the King. he soon
starts to want that title so bad that he is willing to kill for it. When the time finally comes for Macbeth
to be crowned King, he gets exactly what he wants a crown and a thrown. Months go by and even
though his name is King Macbeth, it does not make him a noble ruler fit for the title of King as he is
not loved and respected by the people he must rule over. Even though he has a castle he is not the
person that should own the castle. This tyrant, whose sole name blisters our tongues. (102) this quote
shows just how much Macbeth s people despise their ruler.
The short story Sunrise on the Veld Lessing Doris. Describes a young boy who is completely free in a
sense that he can go absolutely anywhere he wants to go. One morning he wakes up free and full of
spirit. there is nothing I can t become, nothing I can t do; there is no country in the world I cannot

Lemert Progressed The Labelling Theory Of Deviance
Lemert progressed the labelling theory by suggesting that there was a primary and secondary stage of
deviance.Primary deviances are acts which haven t been publicly defined as deviant, due to the fact
that they re minor and insignificant incidents of rule breaking. Whilst secondary deviance are acts
which have been publicly listed and labeled as deviant. Lemert argued that it was society s attempt to
control primary deviance that led to secondary deviance. If there was no reaction, there would be no
secondary deviance. (Robert Van Krieken, 2013) Societal reactions.Social control agencies responses
towards the deviant, greatly affect deviance outcomes. Instead of minimising deviance the police can
cause deviance to be amplified. (Marshall,

develop it to make Brazil a better country. Some estimates suggest that a fifth of the Amazon
rainforest was cleared between 1960 and 1990. It is also estimated that approximately 7.5 million
hectares of rainforest are being cut down each year. This is extremely unlikely to be replaced. The

The term financial services became more prevalent in the United States partly as a result of the

which enabled different types of companies operating in the U.S. financial services industry at that
time to merge.[2]
B. Companies usually have two distinct approaches to this new type of business.
One approach would be a bank which simply buys an insurance company or an investment bank,
keeps the original brands of the acquired firm, and adds the acquisition to its holding company simply
to diversify its earnings.
Outside the U.S. (e.g. Japan), non financial services companies are permitted within the holding
company. In this scenario, each company still looks independent, and has its own customers, etc. In
the other style, a bank would simply create its own brokerage division or insurance division and
attempt to sell those products to its own existing customers, with incentives for combining all things
with one company.

The Bolshevik Of The Soviet Revolution
The Bolsheviks success in the 1917 October revolution, gave them full power under the leadership of
Vladimir Lenin. Their aim after successfully overthrowing the Russian autocracy was to create a
socialist state. His[Lenin s] view was that socialism should be a society where the working people
control their own fate, a society organized to benefit the vast majority. This view was the foundation
for Lenin s efforts in socialist construction. In order to create this society they; formed a new socialist
government; introduced the first stage of communism state capitalism; issued a decree on land as
promised in their manifesto and focused on industrialising and collectivising in order to facilitate a
socialist state. However, problems which may cause failure in the creation of a socialist state include
the civil war for slowing down progress, the introduction of the NEP (a revert back to capitalism?), the
need to consolidate power and the brutal use of the red army.
The Bolshevik s first protocol was to create a socialist government. Lenin began by replacing the
government of the capitalist class with the rule of the working people. This new socialist government
was compiled of mass organizations called Soviets, councils democratically elected by workers,
peasants and soldiers. One of the key functions of the socialist government, in Lenin s view, was
guaranteeing democracy for the working people. As opposed to a capitalist government which exists

Bison are the largest animal in North America, adults weighing an average of 1,400 lbs. Don t take
bison for granted. They may be huge, but they are incredibly fast for their size. They can also live to
be 20 years old, if under good conditions. Bisons wallow in the dirt to help get rid of any irritating
bugs or to help shed. They are also very nearsighted, so keep your distance if you ever encounter

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Frequency Modulation
ANGLE MODULATION
Chapter Objectives
This chapter will help you to:
1. Define and explain the processes of frequency modulation (FM) and phase modulation (PM) and
state their differences.
2. Calculate the modulation index given the maximum deviation and maximum modulating frequency,
determine the significant number of sidebands in an FM signal, and calculate the bandwidth of an FM
signal.
3. Define pre emphasis and de emphasis, state their benefits, and show how they are accomplished.
4. Name the advantages and disadvantages of FM and PM compared to AM.
Angle modulation is a technique in which the angle of the carrier wave is varied according to the
instantaneous amplitude of the modulating signal. There are two types of angle modulation.
1. Frequency Modulation
2. Phase Modulation
Frequency Modulation: (Definition Introduction)
FM is a technique in which the instantaneous frequency of the carrier wave is varied according to the
instantaneous amplitude of the modulating signal. In other words if the amplitude of the modulating
signal increases, then there will be a corresponding increase in the frequency of the modulated wave,
similarly if the amplitude of the modulating signal decreases, then there will be a corresponding ...

As can be seen in Figure 3.1 (a) the modulating signal increases from its negative peak value during
this quarter, and at time t3 it becomes zero. This sinusoidal increase in the amplitude of the
modulating signal is mapped on to the carrier signal by increasing its frequency. At time T3, the
amplitude of the modulating signal is zero and hence there will not be any deviation in the carrier
frequency from its original value. Thus between time T2 and T3, the frequency of the modulated
carrier increases from its minimum value attained at time t2. This is shown in Figure 3.l(c) by
inserting more cycles during quarter III as compared to the number of cycles that occurred during the
quarter

Chicken Soup Rough Draft
Chicken Soup Rough Draft
Kids on my block always loved to play outside. Growing up we always knew each other. We
cherished the times we would spend with each other. Whether it being on the Scorching hot days of
Summer, the chilly days of Fall, Or the rainy days of Spring. We would be on that street hanging out
and spend time with each other.
Spending so much time with each we had also noticed growing up that one of our friends has old stuff.
We noticed that every now and then when any of us would receive something new from our parents,
we would of course show it off to one another. Also remembering that our friend never really had
anything to show off to us. I could understand the situation, with the family being poverty stricken.

Research Methodology Of The Research Approach
This chapter outlines an overview of the research approach adopted in the study as well as the research
methodology and the practical approach adopted to achieve the set objectives of the study. In addition,
it also highlights the data collection methods, ethical considerations, and data analysis. Case studies
will be used as a research strategy as they are distinguished by their ability to investigate a
phenomenon which, in this case, will be the upgrading heritage buildings through sustainable designs
and construction. The chapter also rationalizes the sampling approaches and the research methods
used for collecting the data in the case studies. To achieve the objectives, data for this study will be
collected using two qualitative research methods: document analysis and semi structured interviews
which were used to give a scholarly definition of the term sustainable adaptation to heritage sites and
buildings which is part of the objectives. The chapter also looks at the qualitative analysis techniques
which will be used to analyze the data.
3.2 Research approach
The difference between qualitative and quantitative research is basically a methodological issue and
the researcher s decision to choose a specific research approach should be based on its suitability to
answer the established research questions (Bryman, 1992). A qualitative approach according to
(Creswell, 2003) should be a logical subjective approach and should be able to describe experiences

What Is The Simplified Workflow For Nucidic Acid Isolation...
3.3.8. Simplified Workflow for Nucleic Acid Isolation from Captured Cells An important aspect for
cell capture devices is the ability to easily access cells and nucleic acids for downstream analysis (e.g.
clonal expansion, fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH), gene expression, and sequencing) to
determine the type of primary tumor and monitor disease progression [130, 131]. Microfluidic cell
capture approaches are typically formed by permanently bonding the channel network to the capture
surface, and access to the captured cells and nucleic acids is only possible by flowing fluid through the
channel. With the magnetic latching used in SEAM, the channel and the surface can be quickly
decoupled to provide open access to the captured ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(b) Cell lysis with direct transfer of captured cells from nanotextured PDMS surface into lysis buffer.
(c) Comparison of nucleic acid extraction efficiency using the two methods. The data is normalized to
the amount of nucleic acid directly extracted from a cell suspension. (*p value 0.05; n = 5). Results
showed that approximately twice as much nucleic acid was extracted from the direct transfer method
(1523 ± 225.9 ng, A260/280 = 2.03 ± 0.02) compared to in channel lysis (647 ± 5.7 ng, A260/280 =
1.99 ± 0.08) with statistically significant differences (n = 5, p value 0.05). For the normalization of
data in Figure 3.10(c) the number of cells equivalent to the initial cell seeding density was pipetted
directly from cell suspension into lysis buffer. The data are presented as the extraction efficiency with
respect to the control. The extraction efficiency of direct transfer and in channel method was 80% and
35%, respectively. The purity of the extracted nucleic acid between the methods was comparable, but
the direct transfer method was simple to implement and did not require sample handling or fluid
manipulation. The straight channel used here represented a conservative extraction because more
complicated branched networks can lead to sample losses from dead volumes, external tubing, and
large surface area to volume ratios microfluidic channels. The open cell access enabled by SEAM
simplified the experimental workflow for cell processing required for

Land Biomes Research Paper
A huge part that makes the Earth different from any other planet is the diverse environments or biomes
that make up the lands. The different environments help create the different cultures around the world
which help shape people personalities and their everyday lifestyle. Each biome has different factors in
them that describe them which are their cultures and the three main types of land biomes are the
tundra, grassland/desert and forest. The tundra is the lease populated biome on the Earth due to its
extremely low temperatures and excessive amount of snow and ice. One group of people called The
Inuit are brave enough to live on coastal areas of Arctic tundra including places like Canada, Alaska
(USA), Siberia (Russia), and Greenland and within them even smaller groups are formed based on
their location within the tundra. Some people share common ancestors but even if they do not most
groups have similar ways of living in the Arctic. Inuit traditionally hunted for seals, whales, polar

Most of the people who live in the desert do not really live in one place for a long period of time since
they are nomadic and move frequently in search of water. The few people that settle in the desert raise
crops on irrigated land in an oasis. They wear white flowing robes and turbans to protect their head
and eyes against the blazing sun. Oases in the desert are few and far between and this is where trading
activities are carried out. People trade wool, animal s skins and even buy and sell animals to make
money. When the nomadic people decide to stay in one place for a short period of time, they live in
tents or make mud houses. They eat dates from palm trees and drink goat milk. Cheese made from
goat and sheep milk is also a staple in their diet. The desert is an interesting and dangerous

Compare And Contrast The Melting Point Of 4-Butoxyphenyl...
The melting point that was observed for N (4 butoxyphenyl)acetamide was 109.7˚C, and is lower than
the literature value range of 131˚C. (Royal Society of Chemistry. 2018). This may be due to the
presence of water and that impurities may be still present in the product that was formed. Solid
substances that contain soluble impurities typically melts at a lower temperature than the pure
compound (Kirsop. 2017). This is because the impurity disrupts the repeating pattern of forces that
holds crystalline structure of the solid. A smaller amount of energy is required to melt the part of the
solid surrounding the impurity, which supports that the compound that was produced was an impure
compound.

SN1 reactions are dependent on the stability of the carbocations, where a tertiary carbocation is at its
most stable form, causing a fast reaction rate (Hunt. 2009). The compound that had the highest rate of
reaction of less than 1 min was 2 chloro 2 methyl propane, where benzene chloride followed (6 mins).
The benzene chloride had a faster reaction than the other haloalkanes since the carbon that was
attached to the chloride was connected to the benzene ring, in doing so quickens the reaction. Unlike
the benzene chloride, chlorobenzene should have no reaction since the chlorine is directly attached to
a carbon within the benzene ring. This unexpected result of having of having the solution turn cloudy
may be due to a cross contamination of the pipettes. The allyl chloride, had a slow reaction rate of 11
mins due to the carbocation being on a secondary carbon. The precipitate will eventually fully form,
where this is the same case for the 2 chlorobutane and 1 chlorobutane as the carbocation is relatively
unstable. Thus, causing the reaction to slowly occur and why no reaction was observed during the

Rene Descartes Meditation 1 Summary
In Meditation I by Rene Descartes, he began to doubt his senses and the self. At the beginning of the
text, he decided to throw out any and all previous knowledge he once had and began a new foundation
of intellect. I won t over indulge in skepticism, since I am now concerned, not with acting, but only
with knowing. (Descartes 159) Of all the things he had accepted to be true, he has found true through
his senses. I have so far accepted as supremely true I have learned either from the senses or through
the senses. (Descartes 157) Although he stated that sometimes our senses can deceive us (of objects
that are small or far away), he understands that our senses are reliable. Descartes was in turmoil and
doubtful beyond belief from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He believes that the senses can deceive us some cases. Those cases being the objects are quite small or
far away. As we discussed in class, a majority of people have been deceived through sight or hearing.
For example, one of my fellow classmates said they thought they saw a person standing in a parking
garage when in reality; it was just a light pole at a far distance. He claims that we cannot trust our
imaginations. Descartes states an argument using wax to prove how our senses give proof of the self.
Descartes places a piece of wax in his hand and sits next to a fire and lets the wax slowly melt. He
writes how we perceive the wax through our senses as it is a solid piece, but over time as it melted, it
was still the same piece of wax. While everything having to do with taste, smell, sight, touch and
hearing has changed the same piece of wax remains. (Descartes 161) He came to the conclusion that
we know through our judgments and not our imaginations. The wax cannot be known through his
imaginations since the wax can melt into an infinite number of shapes, instead, he knows the wax off
of knowledge and intellect alone. This means that every interaction we have with material objects
gives us a sense of self awareness through our senses such as sight, sound, taste, smell, and

The Legislative Branch Essay
The Legislative Branch The legislative branch is the most powerful branch in government. The
legislative branch is in charge of making and passing laws. They have the power to override a
president s decision, stop laws from being passed, and basically control all decisions the governments
makes. The legislative branch, also called the congress, consists of the House of Representatives and
the senate. The reason for two houses of congress is to balance out the concerns of smaller but more
populated states against states that are larger but with less population (www.Usgovinfo.com). The
House of Representatives consists of 435 elected members that are divided among the fifty states in
proportion to their population. There are also six ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First, the congress can send the bill to the President to be signed and passed into a law. However, if the
President vetoes the bill, it is then sent back to congress. Congress can then take a vote on the bill and
if two thirds vote to pass it, the bill is made into a law. Lastly, the President can decide to neither sign
the bill nor veto the bill. If this happens when the congress is in session, the bill will become a law
after ten days without the President s signature. (Congressforkids.net) The congress recently sent the
Small Business bill to President Obama. The Small Business bill was passed by congress on
September 23 with a 237 187 vote with only nine not voting. The bill was passed basically by
democrats alone. There was only one republican that voted for the bill and only thirteen democrats
voted against the bill (MSNfirstread). Democrats said that they voted for bill because they understood
that small businesses were having trouble getting loans after the financial crisis that began in
December of 2007. The Small Business bill was created to help out small businesses. The bill includes
tax breaks and a thirty billion dollar small business lending fund. Congress is hoping that this will
create more job openings because the businesses must hire a certain amount of people off the
unemployment line. This will insure the percentage of people that are unemployed to decrease. The
bill would raise new business expense deductions from

Charles Orzech Saving The Burning Mouth Hungry Ghost Analysis
I will prove that this article by Charles Orzech called Saving the Burning Mouth Hungry Ghost argues
that that the divinest of Buddha s prior presence of being a Brahmin made him accomplished to

The Buddha s Discourse on the Scripture of the Spell for Saving the Burning Mouth Hungry Ghost is
one of the three key texts in the development of Buddhist performances held during the Ghost Festival
of the seventh month of the Chinese lunar calendar. This celebration is moulded by a Buddhist
practice and is consider the second most important festival of the year for the Chinese people. The
Chinese people have practiced this tradition since the Liang Dynasty but since then it has developed
into the existing Zhongyuan Festival. This celebration began with a story that will be explained below,
this event become so special because it helped Chinese people escape their suffering and hungry that
they would experience after they die by doing certain practice and chants to satisfy the hungry ghost.
This story starts off during the World Honored One when Ananda was alone at the Banyan Monastery
located in Kapilavasttu. When Ananda was sitting their examining the teaching he had been given
earlier, while sitting their he saw a horrendous ghost which Charles Orzech describes to be like shown
as his mouth burning and his throat looking like a needle, the ghost hair was seen as chaotic, while

Huntington Park Research Paper

and the view of the beautiful field with the Columbus skyline in the background. Huntington Park is a

On that first Saturday in June 2012, my teammates and I fulfilled our life long goals of winning a state
championship together and proving to the people that did not believe in us that we could do it. On that
day, those fifteen guys I had grown up through grade school with were no longer just teammates and
friends, they became brothers to me. Another reason Huntington Park is so special to me is because I
was the final pitcher in both championships, meaning I had the ball in my hand when the game was on
the line. Standing on the mound in front of ten thousand people with all eyes looking at you is a nerve
racking feeling but there was no better feeling then being the guy that our coach trusted to bring home
the trophy for our team. Lastly, this baseball stadium known as Huntington Park is so special to me
because after receiving that trophy and medal for winning the championship I also received my high
school diploma at home plate because our team missed the graduation ceremony. There are not many
people in the world that can say they received their high school diploma on the same field they won a
state championship. Huntington Park may not be a special place for anyone else but it will always be a
special place for my teammates and myself. Those two days our dreams became realities and that is
something we will all look back and cherish forever. Whether it s passing by the stadium in my car or
attending a Columbus Clippers game during the summer time, any time I find myself back at
Huntington Park I still get the chills from knowing I played on that

Military Deception Analysis
Identifying the principles that determine the success of Denial and Deception efforts
The carrying out of every mission, rather operational or tactical is based on these six principles of
military deception:
Focus Predisposition of the Target
Timeliness Strategic Initiative
Integration Secrecy, Organization, Coordination
Security Plausibility and Confirmation of the Lie
Centralized control Adaptability
Objective The acceptance of the deception
Tools of deception (Focus, Objective, Centralized Planning and Control, Security, Timeliness, and

Most Common Auto Immune Disease
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a systematic inflammatory disease characterized by synovitis (constant
inflammation of the synovial membranes) and autoantibodies. The disease that affects 0.5 1.0% of all
adults in industrialized countries, mostly women and elderly people (Scott et al, 2010). In the United
States, more than 1.5 million people suffer from rheumatoid arthritis, making it one of the most
common auto immune disease (Carmona et al. 2010). According to the Arthritis Foundation,
individuals who suffer from arthritis have to deal with joint pain, morning stiffness, fatigue, loss of
appetite, depressive symptoms, and low grade fever which can last a few days to weeks. Individuals
with this disease tend to have a low quality of life and difficulties with day to day activities.
There are 5 types of RA progression measured by imaging radiography. Type 1 is identified as a rare
type, with no radiographic progression, type 2 is a slow or moderate onset with increasing
progression, type 3 is a moderate to fast onset with stable progression, type 4 is a fast onset with a
decreased progression rate, and type 5 is a slow onset with acceleration in progression, then
deceleration (Graudal et al, 2004). Having any of the five types of RA can cause disability as a result
of joint damage, lowers quality of life, and can lead to other comorbidities such as cardiovascular
disease, tuberculosis, malignancies, and mental health conditions such anxiety and depression (Scott et

Essay On Pyloric Stenosis
Pyloric stenosis, also known as infantile hypertrophic pyloric stenosis (IHPS), is the most common
cause of intestinal obstruction in infancy. Infantile hypertrophic pyloric stenosis occurs secondary to
hypertrophy and hyperplasia of the muscular layers of the pylorus, causing a functional gastric outlet
obstruction (Singh and Bechtel, 2015). The pylorus connects the stomach to the small intestine. When
a pyloric stenosis occurs, the pylorus swells and thickens (DeNoon, 2014). At this point, experts don t

DATA
For example in the reading of the budget the finance minister used GDP figures to talk about the

a population listening to the budget about the efficiency of the government in stimulating or increasing
production from locally owned factors of production. GDP statics for Trinidad and Tobago however
are always more attractive than GNP statics as demonstrated in table 1.3 and graph 1.2. Because GDP
statics look and sound superior they are the choice of politicians who always aim to impress. From
graph 1.2 we see that when consideration is given to net property income from abroad GNP is always
less than GDP for the Trinidad and Tobago economy. This is because of the large multinational (MNC)

  • 2. The Impact Of The Dutch Influence On Indonesia The Dutch Empire s first influence on Indonesia is on their thoughts both intellectually and horridly. According to a documentary by Kate Humble, the VOC, a Dutch owned trading organization, took a lot of the Banda Islands , a group of islands located in the eastern side of Indonesia, land, valuables, and hope when they settled there. They murdered their chiefs and turned their land into VOC buildings. This lead them to have horrific thoughts. Humble mentioned that even mentioning VOC to the people of Banda, will flashed their minds to this horror. So, this means that the people of Indonesia still remember the Dutch s legacy and it is not in a good way. They still remember when Jan Peiterszoon Coen invaded their island and took everything away from them. Coen destroyed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Dutch mainly ruined more than helping it though. According to Britannica.com, the Dutch used the VOC to overrun multiple Indonesian communities, mainly Banda Islands communities, and take their valuables with them. They also murdered the Indonesian tribal chiefs to show the people to not mess with the VOC or the penalty will be deadly. This ruined multiple communities as they have no leaders to lead them from this situation. When the leaders are gone, the citizens of the tribes easily fall because they have no one to lead them. Also, according to Adi Sudirman s book about Indonesian history, the Dutch and the VOC used sneaky ways to trick the Indonesians to trust them and easily take their land, valuables, and communities. They took the monopolies of multiple Indonesian commodities so that they can decide the price and their value. This means that the VOC took over commodities in Indonesia so that they can do their own bidding with its monopolies. The VOC used strategies that are very sneaky and cause their victims to easily lose the fight. Unfortunately, there are no good side of this influential actions the VOC ... Discussed in Greek literature dating as far back as 200 B.C., it has been used for various reasons throughout history and in the present day. Its popularity is attributed to its multi purpose benefits in humans ranging from medicinal advantages to economic. Furthermore, ginger is used as a memory stimulant, digestive stimulant, and opener of hepatic obstructions, aphrodisiac1 Ginger is a main staple in traditional herbal medicine for many different cultures, such as the Chinese, Japanese, and Americans. Confucius wrote that he did not go without ginger when he ate. In the Chinese culture, ginger was found to be very helpful in treating toothaches, symptoms of cold, influenza, and hangover. Today, the most common use of ginger, in Chinese medicine, is as a spice in cooking, and as a medicinal combatant of nausea due to morning sickness, Elana Masikhaev motion sickness, and food contamination. Ginger is usually given either in the form of a tea, or as a powder for easy consumption.5 Before British surgeon, Dr. James Lindt, discovered that lime can treat scurvy, 5th century Chinese sailors were using ginger for the same effect due to its vitamin C value.1 Also acting as a staple in Japanese culture, ginger was used to treat spinal and join pain. There have been experiments conducted that examine the effects of ginger on arthritic knee pain in attempts to find natural alternatives to non steroidal anti inflammatory agents. These studies have found that ginger can be placed slightly below ibuprofen for managing arthritic pain.2 A retrospective study was conducted, involving 28 patients with rheumatoid arthritis, 18 with osteoarthritis, and 10 with muscular discomfort. The study found that the patients who took ginger reported less pain and inflammation. More research has to be done on the exact mechanism, but there is some speculation that this effect is due to the anti inflammatory effects that ginger possesses in blocking cyclooxygenase ... William Pitt of England. Moments, when they act like little kids, is when the Boston Massacre happened, Boston tea party happened, and when they need the intolerable Act. To begin with, most of the Patriots were pretty mad at England so what do they do when they aren t satisfied with the acts, they try to kill themselves by shouting Fire and throwing clubs at British officials. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To begin with, when the Colonist dumped our prices Tea into the harbor I was actually really surprised because I thought the problem was resolved when the Townshend Act was removed except for the taxes on Tea. If the Colonist just could have looked at the good stuff that the mother country had done then this War would ve been avoided but instead, they decide to create a list that states what King George had done which was just plain stupid not to add anything good. Secondly, when I saw what Samuel Adams had written I felt angry at how people thought that horrible night had gone down. The worst part is that many people believe this garbage and now innocent troops are being punished from this. This all could have been avoided is the Patriots didn t have anger management problems and just rethought their actions than 5 people wouldn t die. Also shouldn t they have been asking to be killed and instead try to reason with them? Lastly, I felt like the intolerable was a last ditch effort to help take control of the Colonist and punish those who misbehave. Another thing this Act disbanded was those town meetings which were actually used as a place to make a plan to rebel. If only people could follow the rules then all these taxes would pass and besides people in Britain had to pay for more than you did. In the end, if the Colonist would have just followed the rules and just pay taxes like normal people would the events like the Boston Massacre, Boston tea party, and Intolerable Act would have been ... • 5. Symbolism In The Raven Raven or Ghost? Would it be relieving to have a reminder of your late loved one(s) for every second of every day? Or would it be rather aggravating; having to commemorate that moment over and over again? The Raven, written by Edgar Allan Poe is a very prominent gothic literature piece. Having to deal with his long lost love, the speaker is taunted by this raven who mysteriously appeared one dark and dreary night outside his chamber window. The speaker is forewarned of his long lost love, Lenore, by the raven showing up. A lot of people now a days refer back to this piece to help them understand loss, and heartbreak. In contrast to that, it s kind of like when people are scared or they are in the dark and they need comfort, so they think about their happy place to feel safe; the speaker was thinking about his happy place, Lenore. Furthermore, as the speaker was opening the door, the poem refers to him as curious and scared. Sort of a sick gut feeling, it has him thinking, what if Lenore was really here? There is a lot of emotion going on in this scene. For example, have you ever had to give a speech or talk in front of a humongous audience? That is what he was feeling at the moment. • 8. One Of The Most Important Elements In Dracula Jeffrey Hinkle Professor Ramirez English 303B 13 July 2016 Quiz 2 on Dracula One of the most important elements in Dracula is imagery, and I believe Bram Stroker uses sleeping to show weakness in his characters and to develop a sense of danger. Uniquely, in the Victorian age, people believed a person s mind was only healthy when they were asleep, and their bodies were safer when awake. Of course, this goes hand in hand with the story so far in Dracula, because the majority of the danger in Dracula takes place at nighttime when people are sleeping. Furthermore, I believe this may be why Stroker has placed such a big emphasis on sleeping throughout Dracula; in fact, Stroker demonstrates how sleeping puts a person in their most vulnerable state. ... Of course, this gives me an unnerving feeling and a curious thought as to what else is in the castle, but I know it would be wise for Harker to heed Dracula s words. In the end, Harker did not listen to Dracula s words and he found himself in grave danger when he awoke to three blood thirsty women standing in the same room he fell asleep in. Even though you have more or less than someone does not mean they are any better or worse than you. When it comes to Linda s English 11 course you are put in the role of everything from a king to a little boy in Africa. In the story of Macbeth William Shakespeare reviews a story of a man named Macbeth who wanted to become King, he wanted so bad to be king that he went to the extremes of killing his cousin to get there. It all starts with a couple of witches that tell him that one day he will become the King. he soon starts to want that title so bad that he is willing to kill for it. When the time finally comes for Macbeth to be crowned King, he gets exactly what he wants a crown and a thrown. Months go by and even though his name is King Macbeth, it does not make him a noble ruler fit for the title of King as he is not loved and respected by the people he must rule over. Even though he has a castle he is not the person that should own the castle. This tyrant, whose sole name blisters our tongues. (102) this quote shows just how much Macbeth s people despise their ruler. The short story Sunrise on the Veld Lessing Doris. • 17. The Bolshevik Of The Soviet Revolution The Bolsheviks success in the 1917 October revolution, gave them full power under the leadership of Vladimir Lenin. Their aim after successfully overthrowing the Russian autocracy was to create a socialist state. His[Lenin s] view was that socialism should be a society where the working people control their own fate, a society organized to benefit the vast majority. This view was the foundation for Lenin s efforts in socialist construction. In order to create this society they; formed a new socialist government; introduced the first stage of communism state capitalism; issued a decree on land as promised in their manifesto and focused on industrialising and collectivising in order to facilitate a socialist state. However, problems which may cause failure in the creation of a socialist state include the civil war for slowing down progress, the introduction of the NEP (a revert back to capitalism?), the need to consolidate power and the brutal use of the red army. The Bolshevik s first protocol was to create a socialist government. Lenin began by replacing the government of the capitalist class with the rule of the working people. This new socialist government was compiled of mass organizations called Soviets, councils democratically elected by workers, peasants and soldiers. One of the key functions of the socialist government, in Lenin s view, was guaranteeing democracy for the working people. As opposed to a capitalist government which exists to ensure the ... Instead of using hatred and insults, he used his wisdom and his life experiences to express his views on the world, and why big changes had to be executed immediately. Standing Bear uses the opportune moment in the early 20th century, while civil rights was at its infancy to persuade the white man that the Indian was no different than he was. This gave the citizens of Rome a false sense of moving towards a republic when instead they were falling into Augustus scheme. The skills that Augustus had to make the Principate successful were immense. He manipulated the citizens of Rome against their own ideology. They had just assassinated their Emperor Julius Caesar for being a dictator and wanted to go back to a republic. • 22. American Bison Research Paper American bison (Bison bison) have lived for thousands of years, but are now going extinct due to buffalo hunting. Bisons live in America, and their habitats are mostly river valleys, prairies and grassy plains. Bisons are Herbivores, their diets consisting mainly of grasses, weeds, and other leafy plants. Their predators are gray wolves, cougars, and bears. There is one kind of species of American bison, but American bison ancestors can be traced to Southern Asia thousands of years ago. Also, the history of bison and Native Americans are intertwined. Female bison breed when they are two years old, and give birth to their first calves when they are three years old. • 23. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Frequency Modulation ANGLE MODULATION Chapter Objectives This chapter will help you to: 1. Define and explain the processes of frequency modulation (FM) and phase modulation (PM) and state their differences. 2. Calculate the modulation index given the maximum deviation and maximum modulating frequency, determine the significant number of sidebands in an FM signal, and calculate the bandwidth of an FM signal. 3. Define pre emphasis and de emphasis, state their benefits, and show how they are accomplished. 4. Name the advantages and disadvantages of FM and PM compared to AM. Angle modulation is a technique in which the angle of the carrier wave is varied according to the instantaneous amplitude of the modulating signal. There are two types of angle modulation. 1. Frequency Modulation 2. Phase Modulation Frequency Modulation: (Definition Introduction) FM is a technique in which the instantaneous frequency of the carrier wave is varied according to the instantaneous amplitude of the modulating signal. In other words if the amplitude of the modulating signal increases, then there will be a corresponding increase in the frequency of the modulated wave, similarly if the amplitude of the modulating signal decreases, then there will be a corresponding ... This sinusoidal increase in the amplitude of the modulating signal is mapped on to the carrier signal by increasing its frequency. At time T3, the amplitude of the modulating signal is zero and hence there will not be any deviation in the carrier frequency from its original value. Thus between time T2 and T3, the frequency of the modulated carrier increases from its minimum value attained at time t2. • 25. Research Methodology Of The Research Approach This chapter outlines an overview of the research approach adopted in the study as well as the research methodology and the practical approach adopted to achieve the set objectives of the study. In addition, it also highlights the data collection methods, ethical considerations, and data analysis. Case studies will be used as a research strategy as they are distinguished by their ability to investigate a phenomenon which, in this case, will be the upgrading heritage buildings through sustainable designs and construction. The chapter also rationalizes the sampling approaches and the research methods used for collecting the data in the case studies. To achieve the objectives, data for this study will be collected using two qualitative research methods: document analysis and semi structured interviews which were used to give a scholarly definition of the term sustainable adaptation to heritage sites and buildings which is part of the objectives. The chapter also looks at the qualitative analysis techniques which will be used to analyze the data. 3.2 Research approach The difference between qualitative and quantitative research is basically a methodological issue and the researcher s decision to choose a specific research approach should be based on its suitability to answer the established research questions (Bryman, 1992). Simplified Workflow for Nucleic Acid Isolation from Captured Cells An important aspect for cell capture devices is the ability to easily access cells and nucleic acids for downstream analysis (e.g. clonal expansion, fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH), gene expression, and sequencing) to determine the type of primary tumor and monitor disease progression [130, 131]. Microfluidic cell capture approaches are typically formed by permanently bonding the channel network to the capture surface, and access to the captured cells and nucleic acids is only possible by flowing fluid through the channel. The purity of the extracted nucleic acid between the methods was comparable, but the direct transfer method was simple to implement and did not require sample handling or fluid manipulation. The melting point that was observed for N (4 butoxyphenyl)acetamide was 109.7˚C, and is lower than the literature value range of 131˚C. (Royal Society of Chemistry. 2018). This may be due to the presence of water and that impurities may be still present in the product that was formed. Solid substances that contain soluble impurities typically melts at a lower temperature than the pure compound (Kirsop. 2017). This is because the impurity disrupts the repeating pattern of forces that holds crystalline structure of the solid. A smaller amount of energy is required to melt the part of the solid surrounding the impurity, which supports that the compound that was produced was an impure compound. The benzene chloride had a faster reaction than the other haloalkanes since the carbon that was attached to the chloride was connected to the benzene ring, in doing so quickens the reaction. Unlike the benzene chloride, chlorobenzene should have no reaction since the chlorine is directly attached to a carbon within the benzene ring. At the beginning of the text, he decided to throw out any and all previous knowledge he once had and began a new foundation of intellect. I won t over indulge in skepticism, since I am now concerned, not with acting, but only with knowing. (Descartes 159) Of all the things he had accepted to be true, he has found true through his senses. I have so far accepted as supremely true I have learned either from the senses or through the senses. For example, one of my fellow classmates said they thought they saw a person standing in a parking garage when in reality; it was just a light pole at a far distance. He claims that we cannot trust our imaginations. Descartes states an argument using wax to prove how our senses give proof of the self. Descartes places a piece of wax in his hand and sits next to a fire and lets the wax slowly melt. He writes how we perceive the wax through our senses as it is a solid piece, but over time as it melted, it was still the same piece of wax. While everything having to do with taste, smell, sight, touch and hearing has changed the same piece of wax remains. (Descartes 161) He came to the conclusion that we know through our judgments and not our imaginations. The wax cannot be known through his imaginations since the wax can melt into an infinite number of shapes, instead, he knows the wax off of knowledge and intellect alone. This means that every interaction we have with material objects gives us a sense of self awareness through our senses such as sight, sound, taste, smell, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
