The film Glory by Edward Zwick is one of the most well known films of all time. The film itself is
solely based upon the first formal unit of the Union Army during the American Civil War which
consist of all African American men. They were essentially the very first unit of United States Colored
Troops. They were formally known for their courageous attempts to and actions at Fort Wagner in
1863. The film is set in many different locations such as New York, Maryland, South Carolina and
Massachusetts. In each of these different locations events took place that shaped our history. For
example on November twenty seventh of 1862 Robert Shaw started to train soldiers. July eighteenth
1863 the Colonel Shaw and his troops attempted to take Fort Wagner, which didn t succeed.
The film has many characters that actually made a difference in history. Four major characters were
Colonel Robert Gould Shaw, Pvt. Trip, Sgt. Maj. John Rawlins and Cpl. Thomas Searles. Colonel

searched, found, and viewed several documentaries which allowed me to observe different species of
primates living in their natural habitats. I took notes of what I saw and researched information on the
species in order to fully understand the meaning of each discernable behavior.
The first documentary that I watched was diffused by KPBS San Diego and allowed me to observe a
community of Bonobos living in their natural habitat in Congo. Secondly, I watched a
BBC documentary which allowed me to observe a small community of Chimpanzees living in the
Kyambura Gorge of Uganda. I then watched a second BBC documentary which permitted me to
observe Crested Black Macaques in their natural habitat, the Tempuku Rainforest. I turned the sound
off during the first viewing of the documentaries in order to focus only the behaviors I could observe
and took notes. I then reviewed the documentaries whiles listening to the observer s comments.
During my observations, I witnessed many different primate activities such as social grooming, the
use of tools, and hunting. I was also able to identify several different primate behaviors and social
structures. Additionally, watching different species of primate allowed me to identify their similarities

INTRODUCTION Violations in traffic laws are very common in a highly populated country like
India. The conditions are even worse in metro cities like Delhi, Mumbai Bangalore and Chennai. The
accidents associated with these violations cause a huge loss to life and property.
Same is the case in Chennai. Being a metro city and a highly populated one also, has a lot of road
accidents every year. Despite this the violations in traffic laws do not reduce. A lot of people disobey
the rules every day sometimes willingly and sometimes because they are forced to do so because of
others.

Also it has a vast population which causes a lot of traffic on the roads. Knowing these factors help us
to collect more accurate data because it enables us to compare between different situations and make a
better analysis. These factors can be identified as:
Overcrowded roads because of a large population, Maximum traffic is observed during office hours
i.e. between 8.00 10.00AM and 5.00 8.00PM. Therefore the maximum violations are also done during
these peak hours. Are report includes study during both peak as well as non peak hours. One another
important factor is that since most of the offices are in the areas like Vandalur and Perangalatur, the
maximum traffic is observed in these areas. So these areas experience maximum breaking of traffic
laws.
The violations mentioned in the report are:
Overloading of vehicles it is very common in the case of two wheelers.
Not wearing helmets or seat belts is also a major rule which is not followed and is the cause of many
deaths and serious injuries.
Drunken driving and speeding beyond a mentioned limit.
Driving in the wrong direction is one of the key violations.
Not obeying the traffic signals is observed mainly during the peak hours of traffic as everyone is in a
rush to reach early.
Thus, these are the basis on which the report is based.
