Compare And Contrast Amigos Mexicanos And Mayan Dusk
Amigos Mexicanos and Mayan Dusk are fictional stories written by Juan Villoro. Both stories had
many similarities mainly with both of them having unnamed protagonists as well as both being written
in first person. These stories show a different side of Mexico and Mexican people. This approach
taken by Villoro as well as his style of writing and use of humor gives quite some insight into Mexican
life and Culture. One of the first things that I have noticed whilst reading these short stories was
Villoros interesting use of pronouns. Which was evident more so in Mayan Dusk . The author starts of
by using we which gives a sense of unity. However, as the story proceeds pronouns begin to change
from we to I and it s quite evident that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Shaw was able to equate the success of these films to the new and unconventional approaches taken
by the directors, which mainly showed a more watered down version of Mexico and its culture in
order to attract international audiences. This was seen in Like water for chocolate in its portrayal of
Mexico as an ideal and tourist friendly Mexico. However, in Amores Perros Shaw believed the vast
success was also attributed to the director s focus on making the characters relatable and familiar.
These ideas and motives behind the success of these films was made clear by Shaw s historical
knowledge gave much needed insight into the history of Mexican film. This insight not only helped in
expanding the readers knowledge of Mexican film but it has also helped in linking Mexican films to
the cultrate and identity of the Mexican people. Shaw was also able to give in depth understsning of
films and the way they shape up peoples views. In

M1: Explain, with examples, how different market research methods are appropriate to assist different
marketing situations. Looking back at the market research methods that could be used to collect
information, methods such as questionnaires/ survey, observation, focus groups, experimentation,
internet, website monitoring etc. I am going to select 3 primary and 3 secondary methods of research
from the ones I have written about. I have chosen 3 primary researches which are: Focus groups
Surveys
Observation
I have chosen 3 secondary researches which are:

I could also use focus groups in the NHS to find out information about ways to improve the efficiency,
equity, effectiveness and quality of health care services they provide. After carrying out the focus
group, the NHS is left with a lot of qualitative data which is good as it is full of details and
information on ways to improve the educational leaflets however the data has to be compared and
recorded based on the views and opinions of people that represent their target population which is not
easy to do. In order to make comparisons, the NHS needs large samples of information because they
want good qualitative answers to make comparisons and also to evaluate the service they provide,
however a focus group is likely to present a small sample of information for the NHS but if the focus
group is representative it will generate good accurate results. However the NHS may need a large
sample so using a focus group may not be suitable. As head of human resources, I have been asked by

teachers to see the ways they teach so that it can be incorporated to the ways other teachers teach.

resources they use that may help others. Observing teachers is good for collecting new ways for

Brazos Theological Argumentary On The Bible Exodus
On the individual side of commentaries, I used the Brazos theological commentary on the bible
exodus by Thomas Joseph White to analyze Ex 2:1 21. The main difference with The New Interpreter
s Bible is that this book seems to be solely focus on the events in exodus. Before the introduction we
are given a set of series prefaces compose of acknowledgements and abbreviations to help us read the
book. The organization of the book starts with an index named contents where we are given the
number of chapters and subcategories of these chapters. In the chapter part we start with Introduction,
then Deliverance from Egypt: Exodus 1 12, Wilderness: Exodus 13 18, Covenant: Exodus 19 24,
Cultic Rituals: Exodus 25 31, and at last Fall and Eschatological Restoration: Exodus 32 40. The
introduction is divided in three categories, the darkness and light of god, the division of the book of
exodus, the four senses of scripture. These points summarize of the book literally. First the darkness
and light of god, Mr. Joseph White argues that the dense dark aspects are often around us. Sometimes
we get the idea that God has abandoned us. We may think so because we have always seen God as a
God of dazzling brilliance (Rev. 21:11; Hebrews 12:29) and God in good times. However, this type of
idea is challenged when one reads Exodus 20:21 As the people stood in the distance, Moses
approached the dark cloud where God was. Where the author of the commentary gives us a basic

The Music Of The Band U2
Rock music is one of the most well known genres of music throughout the world. It has survived
decades and well known bands have never truly died out. You can ask two different generations and
can almost guarantee that both will know the greats. In this genre there have been many bands and
artists that have influenced not only music but the world around them. U2 is a rock band that is
consistent with their message of love and musical structure of their songs. In this essay I will be
talking about three different musical performances by the band U2. I will take a look at the tonality,
texture, and other musical elements within these works of art. Ever since their start, U2 has been
nothing short of successful. U2 formed in Dublin ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

had tours around the whole world, After the initial European leg, the U.S. portion of its tour will kick
off in Chicago ( U2 Kicks Off World Tour in Spain ). They have even done tours as lately as 2015 and
performed 76 shows on the Innocence and Experience tour. U2 has sold more than 170 million records
putting them into an elite group with Billy Joel, The Eagles, and other amazing artists. In 2004 Rolling
Stone named Bono the 32nd best singer ever and Edge the 38th best guitarist. In 2010 eight of their
songs appeared in the top 500 songs of all time. They have a total 22 Grammys which is seventh all
time and first all time as group! U2 has been thriving for decades and part of their success is their
continual efforts to spread peace through their work. Although they have been around for so long they
still love to release songs, However, last week, Billboard reported that the album the Irish quartet was
crafting alongside producer Danger Mouse wouldn t be ready until next year (Kennedy). U2 is one of
the most successful bands in rock history. First to be analyzed, is the song Beautiful Day released in

The Testament Of The Ephesians
Paul, who is the author of Ephesians, is writing to the church in Ephesus and possibly surrounding
Asia minor cities. He wrote the book of Ephesians sometime between AD 60 62 when he was
imprisoned in Rome (3:1, 4:1, 6:20). The letter was taken to Ephesus by Tychicus (vs 6:21 22). Paul
knew that the Christians in Ephesus and the surrounding towns were growing and had heard about
their faith so he addresses the Ephesians as a corporate body (Hultgren, 2015). At the time, Ephesus
was a thriving city and the capitol of the providence of Asia. It was a city that was strategically located
to encourage trade routes that would attract people from all over. Today, Ephesus ruins are located in

Context Literary: Most of Paul s letters are written as expositions which are carefully reasoned
explanations of his letter and well thought out words that are crucially placed to build agreement and
action among the people (Hendricks and Hendricks, 2007, p. 224). However, this particular passage of
Ephesians 3: 14 21 is a prayer among his exposition.
Right before this passage, Paul pleads with the Ephesians that the church needs to be made known of
the authorities in the heavenly places (Ephesians 3:10) so that they may have confidence in their faith
(vs 12). Paul starts verse 14 with For this reason showing his readers that this is why he is adding a
prayer in the middle of his discussion.

Paul uses this interchange in prayer as a Chiasm which is a list of ideas that are structured to parallel
each other in certain lines such as line A, line B, line C, line B, line A (Duvall and Hays, 2012, p. 100).
He starts the prayer out with Praise to the Father with words such as I bow my knees before the Father
(vs 14). He then explains God s great power in verses 15 and 16. Finally, he states his purpose of the
prayer in verse 17 with words such as so that . In verses 17 19 he tells us the purpose which is three
fold: that Christ may dwell in our hearts, to know the love of Christ, and to be filled with fullness of
God. In verse 20 he goes back to talking about God s great power and in verse 21 he closes the prayer

The Identification Of The Tax Evasion Methods Developed By...
Milos (2013) concluded the challenges in the identification of the tax evasion methods developed by
companies and by individuals, as well as the difficulty to eliminate tax evasion, however optimistic in
finding potential solution to minimize and diminish tax evasion concerns (p.171). Milos suggest the
creation of effective fiscal control is necessary rather than dramatic punishment, implementation of
feasible legislative system, increase tax awareness or tax education among citizens, and
implementation of clear, concise, simple, precise and stable fiscal or taxation laws to fight tax evasion
(p.171). Milos recommended several approaches to fight against tax evasion that must be implemented
at once:
Optimizing the legislative normative framework,
Continuously rendering effective the institutions that would fight tax evasion by eliminating the
persons that could be subject to corruption,
Diminishing the taxes and charges,
Finishing the integrated customs system of securing the borders,
Simplifying the taxation system,
Rendering transparent the system, process, results and others connected to fighting the taxation
evasion. (p.171) This is consistent with Skinner and Slemrod (1985) suggestion to strengthen
enforcement by heightened monitoring and amplified penalties for determine tax evaders, and the
benefit of maximize revenue, simplification of tax laws to diminish the loopholes or trim down the
breeding grounds of evading taxes schemes to lower the tax evasion

Natural Selection
Part B.
Over the millions of years organisms have been present on earth, there has been many forms of
evidence to suggest animals are evolving through natural selection. However, the question still
remains as to whether homo sapiens are still evolving through natural selection. Through the nature of
science being subject to change and many new discoveries being made each day, it is difficult to make
clear confined theories and conclusions, which will not be impacted on in the future.

The main idea which discredits and contradicts evolution involves the idea that evolution proceeds by
random chance. However in Australia and among homo sapiens the only evidence to support the idea
that evolution is occurring are as a result of an organism evolving in order to adapt to the changing
environmental conditions of Australia.
Slide 23:
In conclusion, there are many different forms of evidence to support the idea of evolution by natural
selection among homo sapiens in Australia. With reference to the scientific theories and information
present today, it becomes obvious that homo sapiens in Australia are still evolving and will continue to
over time in order to cope with and adapt to environmental changes.

Unemployment Of The Australian Economy
In the Australian economy, trending unemployment rates are a prevailing socio economic issue. With
the labour market central to unemployment and the distribution of jobs, many factors arise as the key
influences on unemployment. With an incredible number of industries facing high demand by
consumers, it is speculated that employment would feature an increase to compensate. However, many
factors of the labour market contradict this and instead increase unemployment. Factors such as the
level of economic growth, technological changes, trends in productivity and the trends in inadequate
education have adverse effects on how unemployment increases and decreases. Unemployment
Overview Unemployment in the Australian economy is defined as the state of involuntary idleness of
work, and the rate of such. An extremely complex, it is often segregated into four key demographics
for analysis: national, state, youth and mature. Each of these four demographics feature varying trends
and are consistently affected by different factors of the labour market. Causes of Unemployment The
trend in unemployment within the Australian economy has swayed significantly in the past 30 years.
As of current, the national unemployment rate has been established at 5.8%, after an unexpected
downturn from 6% in February of 2016 ( Australia Unemployment Rate | 1978 2016 ). Over the past
30 years, the trend of national unemployment has been a downward drop, steadily moving from an
approximate 8.2% in 1976 to

Peekay In Bryce Courtenay s The Power Of One
Peekay, from The Power of One by Bryce Courtenay, is a character whose struggles and achievements
have caused him to develop the trait of perseverance, which has led him to even greater heights.
Throughout his life, Peekay has been blessed with many victories: the positive influences in his life
and the happiness boxing gives him. However, they have still developed his perseverance. In addition
to those, Peekay s downfalls have also toughened up his enduring abilities. Peekay has been

those tragedies, Peekay s mother has returned completely different and has rid of his nanny. Thus
forcing Peekay to mature and walk past his childhood. To help him out of this ditch, multiple mentors,
like Doc and Geel Piet, have fed Peekay information that would help build his character. However,
this has only led Peekay to dead ends about who he truly is. He has felt pressure to please when being

Persuasive Essay On Political Advertising
Political ads can be viewed as annoying, excessive, biased, and unnecessary. This opinion is shared
among many people within America with many wanting all ads to stop entirely. Now, are these ads
truly needed or are they just to make a candidate look good? Certain strategies used in political
campaigns can be confusing and frustrating. However, they can also help bring people together to
discuss their opinions and beliefs in order to decide who to support. Political ads can encourage people
to come together because of a common cause, improving our nation, and who is the best candidate for
President. Political signs and commercials are one tactic that can be misleading. Many people feel that
candidates use bandwagons and endorsements to help them look good and promise immediate changes
which are either not possible or can take a long time to achieve. This is like with Mondale Ferraro,
who made many different types of images to make him look more popular (Document A). However,
these images also help people decide who would be better for the job based off of looks, beliefs, and
other attributes. I would use these to help make myself stand out from the other candidates by putting
in true aspects into my campaign so they do not put false hope into what I stand for. This also helps
decide what issues the public focuses on the most based on their beliefs. The candidates running for
President try to get rid of the issues the public are concerned about to encourage the public to vote for
them. Bandwagons use well known and respected groups of people to influence the public to vote for
a candidate because they are doing it. This can be done with several methods, like endorsement,
glittering generalities, and even using a spoil system to intrigue people into electing them. This is like
the Reagan TV ad where he tried to improve his image with the actions he had promised, which
spread with the public (Document B). In addition, it helps clarify what people want most out of a
candidate for their benefit, as well as their own benefits. I would use bandwagons, because it helps get
other people s attention and make myself popular to others. But these methods can help a candidate
who already has a lot of public support. This

Four Causes Of Solar Eclipses
Solar eclipses are known for their beautiful and definitely interesting look they give upon the naked
eye. To be more precise it is when the sun, moon, and earth are lined up in the same plane. When
doing so the moon goes in between the Earth and sun either covering or partially covering our most
closest star. There happens to be four kinds of eclipses in total. Total, annular, partial, and hybrid.
Each eclipse has different t affects, causes, and looks that give them their name. The first eclipse to
review is Total solar eclipses. Studies show that on average, they tend to appear every 18 months on
Earth. Also, there are two types of shadows named the umbra and the penumbra. An umbra is when a
certain part of the shadows shows no light whatsoever. A penumbra is lighter and more funnel shaped
shadow that allows only a little bit of sunlight to pass. During this eclipse the moon cast its umbra in
just a few hours which means that it can sweep a third of the way around the planet! Some say that if
in the path of the umbra you may see the suns disk diminish into a crescent. This is because the moons
shadow heads toward them. A corona is the tenuous outer atmosphere of the sun. Briefly during this
eclipse, the corona is revealed as the sun is completely covered. Sadly, this beautiful piece of art only
lasts a few minutes as the longest one ever recorded was seven minutes making it rarely ever seen.
Next, a partial eclipse is only seen when the penumbra passes overhead. Meaning

According to Bowen Family Systems Therapy, a healthy family functioning has low anxiety, high
levels of differentiation of self, and contact with family members. However, problems occur when
there are underlying problems of emotional fusion passed from generation to generation and the
amount of stress exceeds family s ability to manage it. Patterns are meant to solve the problem of
anxiety. Most commonly a genogram is used, which allows others to see emotional bonds between
people involved and the clients learn to think systemically to explore their own contribution to conflict

1.1 Describe the factors to take into account when planning healthy and safe indoor and outdoor
environments and services. Before starting any activity it is important that you take into account the
health and safety requirements of all pupils, ensuring that the environment is free of any hazards and
that pupils will be able to work/play safely. Factors which should be taken into account when planning
healthy and safe indoor and outdoor environments and services are: Ratios of staff to children.
Children s health needs . Risk assessments to be carried out daily and hazards reported. Individual
needs of each child. Suitable environment, security or actual environment, temperature of classrooms.

Furniture: Is all furniture inside the classroom in good repair and suitable for the size of the user. This
will ensure that pupils are able to sit comfortable when working , maintain good postures and are not
hunched over small tables. Permanent fixtures need to be taken into account, are they in good
condition and securely fastened, eg cupboards, display boards, shelving. Hot surfaces such as radiators
also need to be protected where necessary, to prevent the risk of burns to pupils. Temperature: The
heating should be adequate it should not fall below ....... or above ......... Basic needs: There should be
access to basic needs such as, toilets washing facilities and drinking water. These need to be located
close to the classroom. Safety: All entry doors should be lockable to prevent any un wanted visititors
but also allow for an easy exit in the case of an emergency. Outdoor Environment: Security: Any
outside area used by children should be secured and boundaries regularly inspected, to ensure the
safety of all pupils. Upkeep of the areas used: It is important that grassy areas should be kept tidy and
mown regularly. Hard ground should be swept and even to avoid any hazards e.g tripping over uneven
flag stones. Rubbish must be removed daily before children are allowed to enter the area e.g litter,
broken glass and animal mess. Equipment and toys: Children

Summary Of Videotape By Don Delillo
How can we determine what s real? The mass media were once thought of as holding up a mirror to,
and thereby reflecting, a wider social reality. Now that reality is only definable in terms of surface
reflection of the mirror was once said by Dominic Strinati (1992). The short fiction, Videotape, was
written by Don DeLillo in 1997 published in one of his novels Underworld (1997). The themes of
postmodernism and how the role of mass media forms false representation, resulting in changes of the
meaning behind events, is centered on the story Videotape . The impact of media attracts the society to
postmodernism with the obsession of violence. Don DeLillo was influenced by several historical
events surrounding him such as the Vietnam war, John F. Kennedy Assassination, the Civil War
Rights, and the revolts that occurred afterwards. The material in his novels are described as, Living
with the dangerous times (Nance, Web). Don DeLillo was born on November 20, 1936 in Bronx, New
York. He didn t grow up with an interest in writing until his teenage years, where he began reading
during a summer job. The first novel he has ever written was called Americana, which was finally
published in 1971. The story, Videotape, demonstrates that the society is centered on death and
violence through media because it is viewed as more realistic than the actual event. One of the key
points in the story is that the accessibility of technology creates realism, which portrays daily life

October10, 2014 ENTRY 15 : Course Reflection
Reflect: This course never interested me. I really was never interested to take this course as there was
no need for it. I considered myself who could write well as needed in my job. For the field I am in, I
did not think I would need more than I already knew, rather I felt it was waste of time. For me to stay
focused and remain enthusiastic was the biggest challenge.
As I started doing this course , I began to enjoy little bit. I am a very practical, who likes to see things
and learn by doing. By writing different topics it helped me to develop my creative abilities. In a way,
the course has made me a deeper thinker than I used to be. I also look into grammar when I read. I
always thought I can write well as needed but I did not really had a sense of a proper process of
writing. There is more to it than writing and proofreading a rough draft as I thought before. Prewriting
has taught me to write my papers for nursing much more easily. This allows me more time to
proofread and check my facts. It also gives me some

Social Polarization In Australia
Australia is a highly urbanized country, with most of the population living in the city. Out of the 23
million residents nearly 70% live in major cities or towns (Australian Bureau of Statistics, 2013).
Population growth continuous to be prominent in inner cities and outer suburbs. Australian major
cities play a key function for the national economy. However the increase in urbanization and
immigration creates issues such as social polarization. Social polarization creates vulnerability with
continuing high rates of unemployment, low level of household income, separation between
communities and inequality.

In many urban areas, the gab between high income workers and low income workers is increasing,
creating inequality and lower social mobility. Not only has the gap between the rich and poor
widened, but this gap also has become a crucial determinant of overall welfare such as education,
employment, health and personal security. 70% of the population in Australia lives in cities and towns
and therefore the major cities play a key function of the national economy. The increase in
urbanization creates conflicts and competition between richer and poorer communities as an
increasing amount of jobs need higher qualifications. The structure of the Australian economy has
shifted from manufacturing towards services. Employees from the manufacturing jobs were especially
vulnerable as 70% of the workforce had no educational qualifications and therefore couldn t adapt to

Stress In The Bible
The word stress has become an essential part of our vocabulary today. The American Psychological
Association defines stress as a feeling of being overwhelmed, worried or run down. Stress can affect
people of all ages, genders and circumstances and can lead to both physical and psychological health
issues. There are external and internal factor that causes stress every day. For example in an internal
level can be the inability to accept uncertainty, rigid thinking, and lack of flexibility, negative self talk,
and unrealistic expectations or perfectionism. On the other hand, people around us or external
situations can also to elevate our level of stress, such as major life, changes, work or school,

After living Egypt, the congregation of Israelites complained against Moses and Aaron in the
wilderness saying, for you have brought us out into this wilderness to kill this whole assembly with
hunger (New Revised Standard, Exo 16:3). This circumstances put in Moses and Aaron in a stressful
situation, they were responsible for these people that were hangry and did not have anything to eat.
Another example is the frequent wars that the Israelites went through. Also the Bible narrates
approximately 53 remarkable battles from Abraham to the beginning of the Christianism. Moreover,
slavery was a factor that produces stress. The Scripture shows us that after Joseph death a new king
came into power over Egypt, this king oppressed the Israelites and made the people them work very
hard (Exo 1:11 14). In the biblical context to have children was not just a desire, but also a duty. Sarah

The Effect of Task Complexity on the Relation Between...
1. Introduction
In this study I want to look at the effect of task complexity on the relationship between team based
incentives and performance. I will thus try to find whether task complexity is a moderating variable in
the relation between incentives and performance and specifically try to find whether this effect differs
for individual incentives and team incentives.
When looking at incentive contracts in management accounting literature, usually theories from the
field of economics and psychology are combined. In some circumstances these theories can lead to
quite opposing predictions of the effect of incentives on performance. In general incentive contracts
are a decision influencing control tool used to make sure that people s ... Show more content on

For example Lazear (2000) empirically finds in a manufacturing environment that pay for
performance increases productivity with 44%. On the other hand Bonner et al. (2000) find that only in
about 50 percent of the experiments they examined, financial performance led to improvements in
productivity. This thus means that the relationship between incentives and performance may be
dependent on the situational circumstances and they do not work in every environment. Specifically in
their review of experiments Bonner et al. (2000) find that when the complexity of the task increases
(relative to the skill of the participants), the likelihood of observing a positive effect of incentives on
performance decrease. Bailey and Fessler (2011) also find that monetary incentives are more effective
when the task is less complex. On the other hand in a review of empirical studies on financial
incentives and performance Jenkins et al. (1999) find that financial incentives are generally related to
output quantity but not to quality. Furthermore, they find task type is independent of the relation
between financial incentives and performance. If the performance on a complex task is more difficult
to measure, the agent s effort thus has less influence on the performance measure (more noise, less
sensitivity) and the measure is less effective.
All the above studies are concerned with individual incentives. Apart from research on individual
incentives there is also a lot

European Exploration Essay
What is now called the European Exploration is a period in the sixteenth and seventeenth century
when explores went out to search for new land and trading routes. Factors such as economic, political,
and cultural were the causes of the exploration. Before exploration in Europe, they experienced the
Black Death. The Black Death was a bubonic plague cause by the spread of bacteria. The plague
killed up to 30 to 60 percent of Europe s population. After the Black Death Europe experienced a
renewal of population and economic activity. The demand for luxuries, most importantly Spices, from
the East came known. Spices were not only used as flavorings for food but they were also used in

In 718 to 1492 there was a battle between the Christian Kingdoms and the Muslim Moors for control
of the Iberian Peninsula. The Christian Reconquista brought passion and energy to Europe and
encouraged them to continue the Christian crusade. Oversees exploration was the main way to reach
the non Christian territories. In addition, eagerness for exploration was increased by a lack of
opportunity at home. Due to the Reconquista, many Spanish men of the upper classes found their
opportunities greatly limited. The men looked to the sea for advanced fortunes. None of these voyages
would be able to be taken place if not for the government, who funded all of them. The Spanish
monarchy was stronger than previously so it was in a place to be able to support foreign endeavors.
Monarchies had many motivations to expand one of them including, being able to profit from trade.
Also monarchies had the desire to please God, which would be fulfilled by exploring new lands and
converting them to Christianity. Finally, the competition between the monarchies and Protestant and
Catholic states was an important factor in the steady stream of expedition. The European age of
Exploration made a big impact to Europe, from gaining new land and becoming a part of a trade
network. To explain his motives, a Portuguese explorer once said to serve God and His Majesty, to
give light to those who were in darkness and to grow rich as all men desire to

The Arian Controversy Caused A Great Uproar During Early...
The Arian controversy caused a great uproar during early Christianity. The controversy argued that
because God is divine and ontologically perfect, He cannot change because it would signal a defect in
perfection. It also argues that If Jesus is the incarnation of the Word (Logos), and the Logos is divine,
like the father, then God would have changed through the human life of Jesus. With this, Arians say
that God would have had to suffer in Jesus, which is impossible. Now because of theses reasons, Jesus
(Logos) could not be divine, but instead would be a great exalted creature. This creature would be
higher, spiritually, than humans, but would be under God. Arians also argue, Jesus could not be human
if we were divine and if Jesus would not be human then there was no way he could become salvific,
meaning we cannot be saved or follow in Jesus examples. Another issue that the Arians argued was, if
Jesus is the Son of God and is begotten, he must have had a beginning in time. It is God s essence to
be eternal so the Son of God/Jesus must be a form of a creature. There was no possible way that Jesus
would be God. Finally they believed that the Trinity is three separate beings. The Council of Nicea
was called by Constantine to have an official ruling as to who Jesus was and how he related to God.
Other issues were dealt with, during the conference, but when it came to the understand of Jesus and
God, things got interesting. Eusebius was a supporter of Arianism and during his

way through and landed some ways off. The remarkable thing was that Gage became conscious within
a matter of a few minutes after the incident. Not only did he wake up but he still had the ability to

Marfan Syndrome Pros And Cons
Marfan syndrome (MFS) is an autosomal dominant disease of the connective tissue, affecting mostly
the skeletal, ocular and cardiovascular systems, caused by mutations in the FBN1 gene. (Fernandes et
al 2016) It was first described just about 100 years ago and was one of the first conditions classified as
a heritable disorder of the connective tissue. MFS lies at one end of a phenotypic spectrum, with
people in the general population who have one or another of the features of MFS at the other end, and
those with a variety of other conditions in between. (Pyeritz 2000) One in four cases of MFS occur
through due to a random mutation the rest are inherited. (Lima et al 2010) Marfan syndrome affects
anywhere from 1 2/10,000 individuals and has a large amount of variation in its symptoms and
severity. The incredible variability of Marfan syndrome and the lack of identifiable phenotype
genotype correlations point to the occurrence of modifier genes. (Fernandes et al 2016) According to
Groth et al. the prevalence of MFS could increase because during their 38 year study they saw a clear
rise in prevalence. The age of diagnosis for MFS can range throughout an entire lifetime however the

Working With Teams
Working with teams
Working in teams is a common approach that many areas such as schools, workplaces are taking in
certain tasks, responsibilities or even special projects. While it can be quite challenging to work in
teams towards a common goal due to different personality types that people have it is very
advantageous for both individuals and the organizations involved (Rasing, 2013).The paper will
highlight on some of the positive experiences that exist for working in teams.it will at what people
learn from working in tams.it will further look at how teams are used in workplaces and other areas
like education. Finally it will look at the advantages of team work and how teamwork skills might
benefit a specific field.
Experiences of working with teams I have worked with teams under very many occasions in school

with teams.in terms of positive experiences I can say that there was a lot of cooperation from other
team members and hence any task given to us that required to be executed by the team was effectively
executed. Through teamwork there was the creation of better communication from team members and
hence positive relations were built (Rasing, 2013).On several occasions especially in school, I was

Long term exposure to low doses of arsenic may change the way cells communicate, and reduce their
ability to function, according to researchers at Dartmouth University. It could play a role in the
development of diabetes, cancer, vascular disease and lung disease. The Food and Drug
Administration says that long term exposure to high levels of arsenic is associated with higher rates of
skin cancer, bladder cancer and lung cancer, as well as heart disease.
(https://www.livescience.com/23304 arsenic rice fda health effects.html). Arsenic goes into the human
body through inhalation, ingestion, and skin absorption. If the arsenic inhaled, it goes into the lung
and then goes into the bloodstream. Then liver, will filter the blood and the arsenic will be removed.
Once, the arsenic is removed, it will excreted by urine. If the arsenic was ingested it will go to the
gastrointestinal tract and be removed through human feces. There were two types of Arsenic, the
organic and inorganic. The organic is less harmful than inorganic. In acute arsenic toxicity organ
damage could occur and may lead to death. On the other hand, disfiguration of extremities due to
chronic arsenic exposure may lead to the development of malignant tumors (ww sciencedirect com.lib
proxy.fullerton.edu). Furthermore, long term exposure of inorganic arsenic can lead to skin becoming
dark and appearing of the warts mostly on foot, hands, and upper body. Inhaling large amount of
arsenic, especially inorganic, creates lung irritation, sore throat, and inflammation of esophagus.
Arsenic can also damage the heart such as coronary heart disease, diffuse capillary leakage, and

The book by Rubin is cited on account of its clarity of exposition, but this approach is documented in
many sources. J Nielsen advocates an approach he calls discount usability engineering .
Typical Application Areas
These approaches may be used at any stage in the process, although discount usability engineering
assumes the existence of a prototype that can stand on its own.
Benefits
The method can be seen as an alternative to more extensive trials, which may take place later, prior to
a release of a product.
Limitations
If planning and preparation work is underestimated, results may be of little value.
Cost of use
Basic needs for this approach are paper forms for the observers, and equipment to show the interface
on a screen or wall. This equipment could include an overhead projector, a computer screen, a barco,
or a video based system with monitor. Optional materials needed would be a video camera to record
the test session, log software and a computer with a simple data logging program.
Costs of Acquisition
This approach is public domain. The work of Rubin is particularly useful as a starting point.

A Flat Tax System
Although this year s budget gap of $14.6 million was a far cry from the $104 million projected
shortfall in July 2017, the state is anticipating another tough budget year in 2018. With tax revenue in
such a precarious state, it is unwise to continue using a tax system that is failing the state economy.
The legislature should pursue prudent reform on corporate taxes to increase the possibility of
recouping lost revenue from past years, or at the very least, prevent another round of budget shortfalls
and spending cuts.
The graduated system businesses experience today has been in effect for over 30 years, and it is
unlikely that an effort to return to a flat tax system would gain political support from legislators. In
addition, a return to a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lowering the corporate tax rate may incur social challenges from citizens who have an unfavorable
view of corporations; however, the alternate also offers many economic benefits while reducing risk.
After reviewing the evaluation criteria, we recommend that the Iowa Legislature lower the corporate
tax rates of each of the existing tax brackets, while still retaining the four tier tax structure.
Although both raising and lowering the tax rates have a positive impact on state productivity, we
contend that lowering the tax rate will lead to a greater economic by incentivizing companies to
conduct their business in Iowa, resulting in more economic growth and leading to more income that
can be taxed for revenue collection. In order to determine the optimal corporate income tax rate, we
return to the Edgeworth Box depicted in Figure 4.
Currently, Iowa s top tax level lies well above the upper bound of the box at 12%, while the 10% level
is equal to the maximum rate allowed within the relevant range. In order to bring both of these rates
within the relevant range of acceptable rates where a decrease in the statutory rate will lead to an
increase in state revenue, we recommend that Iowa reduce the top two tiers to 8.5% and 9.5%,
respectively. As a result, the state will see rising corporate investment, boosting productivity and
increasing the amount of taxable income

the product has been designed for. There are currently 2700 medium sized companies generating
between one to five Billion dollars revenue with an average of 2000 employees. Hidden Champions
has low leverage and therefore mostly uses its own cash flow for funding R D and the development of
new innovations. Simons is vertically integrated with operations on a geographic scale with most of
his locations situated away from major centres. (Balinski, 2013) To be successful in globalisation and
speculation, Grant Anderson CEO of Hidden Champions states (Balinski, 2013), you must travel the
world with arms and legs in the global market in order to use gather intelligent feedback and findings
of new developments in the area and to know what is changing in the world. Following are excellent

Essay on How Hitler Mantained his Power
Consent is the permission for something to happen or the agreement to do something. Although
admittedly it played a part in initiating Hitler s power and then later maintaining it, it was not the most
important element. Terror was the most important element in maintaining his power. The other
elements that were important in maintaining Hitler s power include propaganda, necessity of
economic depression and the removal of other political parties in Germany. Interpretations A and B
refute the view that consent was the most important element in maintaining Hitler s regime in power.
Interpretations C and D however support the view that consent played an important element, albeit
interpretation C was consent through propaganda. Hans Rothfels ... Show more content on

Propaganda was an important element as it enhanced the effectiveness of the terror; the Nazis ensured
the population knew what would happen to Nazi opposition. One case in particular highlighting the
high level of terror is that a court case by a Cologne Judge. A middle aged woman was sentenced to
death even though her crime was just theft of curtains, clothes and coffee. The population became
aware of the ruthlessness of the courts mainly via the press. Historian Robert Gellately enforces this,
crime and punishment stories were crafted according to specific guidelines laid down by the
Propaganda Ministry and press officers to obtain the maximum public relations effect . Propaganda
Minister Josef Goebbels concluded that propaganda was required to strengthen the existing support
from people and to convince those who did not support the party that they needed to. As Goebbels
once said, The essence of propaganda consists in winning people over to an idea so sincerely, so
vitally, that in the end they succumb to it utterly . The ability to convince the population into
succumbing to ideology meant that there was as a whole a collective acceptance of the regime which
meant there were no mass uprisings or opposition against it. Thus, Hitler s regime was able to
maintain power through the publishing of terror through propaganda. The economic crisis was also
mandatory in the maintenance of

Yeats Sailing To Byzantium Analysis
Not a Country for the Old
(A discussion on three messages from Yeats Sailing to Byzantium.)
William Butler Yeats was a poet of the twentieth century, a time of change with world wars,
revolutions, technology change, and much more. William Yeats is considered the most important poet
of the twentieth century. The Irish poet and dramatist William Butler Yeats (1865 1939) was perhaps
the greatest poet of the 20th century. He won the Nobel Prize for literature in 1923 and was the leader
of the Irish Literary Renaissance (Gale). Yeats started his career with plays, and eventually moved to
poetry. Poetry gave him a loud voice to express what he wanted. One of his most remembered pieces
of work is Sailing to Byzantium. In Yeats s Sailing to Byzantium three messages are displayed.
In Sailing to Byzantium, William Yeats expresses the message of young people only being interested
in the present. When people are young they are inexperienced and dumb. Yeats acknowledges this idea
in his poem and explains the idea that being young is fun, young people like to be together, or in love.
He realizes young people are only interested in the present and nothing else. Caught in that sensual
music all neglect, monuments of unaging intellect (1). Yeats explains that the old will try and give
wisdom to the young, but it s useless because the young doesn t wish to listen. The young are too busy
living life to the fullest, to sit down and listen to the words of a wise old man. Yeats

The New Use of Information Technology in the Operating Room
The new use of information technology in the operating room: The future of telemedicine in the OR
for patients in underserved areas Information technology has become a critical component of all facets
of healthcare and has taken on increased prominence in operating rooms as well as in other
components of care such as diagnosis and screening. No longer mainly used for improved electronic
record keeping (although this is one of its strengths), information technology is changing the
healthcare system in profound ways. The gap between information technology and clinical technology
has been getting smaller and more and more functions of IT are now part and parcel of ordinary
surgical procedures (Lockridge 2013). For example, while x rays and MRIs are historically a clinical
technology but now they re being captured digitally and used in electronic medical records and for
image guided surgery, bringing them into the realm of information technology (Lockridge 2013). One
of the most up and coming fields featuring new technology is that of telemedicine or remote medical
technology: once it was mainly relegated to consultation, now it has also been applied in the operating
room. The use of telemedicine to break the isolation of the operating room is a highly achievable goal.
An open operating room has information on demand for the personnel, fluid communication among
operating room personnel, and broad interaction with the learner community and consultants. In an

Graphing and Estimating
Formal Lab Report
Introduction: Today scientists put acquired data into a form of a graph. This said graph is designed to
help make predictions and furthermore, study and understand the experiment and its contents at hand.
The Graphing and Estimating lab involves just that. The lab is designed to collect data from several
tests involving burn time of a candle.
Oxygen, O2, is a kind of gas. A lot of the air we breathe as human beings is oxygen. Which is good
since we need oxygen to stay alive. Oxygen is also a primary element in fire. Fire is a chemical
process. Three elements are needed for this process: oxygen, heat and fuel. Without one of those ...

If the difference between the recorded times are more than 10%, add a third trial. Repeat these steps
with each size beaker. Calculate the average time for each beaker and record the data. The next step of
the lab exercise is determining the exact volume of the beakers used in the burn time experiment. Fill
a beaker to the top with water. Carefully pour the water from the beaker into a graduated cylinder.
Reading the meniscus, record the exact volume into a data sheet. Repeat this step with each size
beaker until all volumes are recorded into the data sheet. The final process of the Graphing and
Estimating lab is plotting the recorded data onto a graph. Using the data recorded for burn time, in
seconds, place the data on the vertical axis. Use the horizontal axis for the volume in milliliters. With
the data points plotted determine whether a straight line or a simple curve will best represent the data.
Now, obtain a jar and determine the volume. Fill the jar to the top with water. Carefully pour the water
into a graduated cylinder. Precisely record the data. Using the plotted data on the graph and the simple
curve or straight line to predict how long it would take for the flame to burn out on the candle if it was
covered with the jar that was just measured.
Results: (Data and calculations)

human trafficking Essay
human trafficking issues:
the article starts out with a clear emphasis on the cooperation between the different segments of
society; cooperation between the state, civil society , and religious groups and institutions on the
issues of human trafficking and prostitution, stating how they are immoral, illegal, unethical and how
they should be considered as a taboo by societies in Europe, especially Cyprus since the exploitation
of women has been rapidly increasing recently. Where all the 800bars and 70 cabarets take advantage
of uneducated, poor, unlucky and socially corrupted women at the cost of reasons such as profit and
pleasure, which may seem as lame reasons when compared to the life and future of a young woman.
The article also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another solution was the campaigning proposal, where protectors of human rights helped increase
public awareness of exactly what is going on and to what extent women are exploited. the article was
completely pro the abolishment of trafficking and prostitution practices and there were no arguments
or debates in defense of the practices taking place in society.
There are a number of measures that should be undertaken by society for the improvement of the
existing situation before it gets any worse, making it harder to fix later on, which would lead to a
degraded corrupted society in the possible near future. as the article mentioned, churches should be a
big part in the process of helping the exploited woman with the trauma their jobs brought to them.
Also, the public should be made clearly aware of the situation, and all the details included in the issue
of prostitution and how traffickers force it upon their employees.
Also, more patrollers should be made available to try and control the situation by arresting traffickers,
which may also scare off other traffickers involved in similar situations. These among many other
solutions deal with the short term perspective of these issues, but more extreme issues should be taken
into deep consideration for the general prevalence of such isuues to be significantly reduced in the
Cypriot society. But these major global problems are unfixable due to the mere

Records Management System
DESIGN BY SIMON MONTEVERDI Records Management System: The purpose of the records
management system is for the user to be able to store information in simple plain text files ready for
editing manually portable safety. The coding includes multiple functions that are of convenience for
the user. The system can be used to keep any records of information as is set out as a user management
system. The script begins with the creation of a main function which will become the menu system.
The while loop is implemented so that the main system will allow the person to either exit the loop or
add a user. The main menu offers the user to either add a user to the records of the system or to simply
exit. The two options are created through their respective statements below: The createUser function is
used to initiate a list of information. The list will be used to hold on to all the information inserted by
the user for it to be added to the records. After that, another loop is created. This loop will be used for
when the user wishes to exit the loop simply entering the word exit can motion the loop into action.
When the operator has exited the loop, information may be entered into the system. A command is
then given to open a certain file and insert a new string (a line which will be added to the records
document.) Once the new information has been entered, the stream to the file is closed so as to avoid
errors to/from the file later on and also saves all alterations that

  • 2. Compare And Contrast Amigos Mexicanos And Mayan Dusk Amigos Mexicanos and Mayan Dusk are fictional stories written by Juan Villoro. Both stories had many similarities mainly with both of them having unnamed protagonists as well as both being written in first person. These stories show a different side of Mexico and Mexican people. This approach taken by Villoro as well as his style of writing and use of humor gives quite some insight into Mexican life and Culture. One of the first things that I have noticed whilst reading these short stories was Villoros interesting use of pronouns. Which was evident more so in Mayan Dusk . The author starts of by using we which gives a sense of unity. However, as the story proceeds pronouns begin to change from we to I and it s quite evident that ... Shaw was able to equate the success of these films to the new and unconventional approaches taken by the directors, which mainly showed a more watered down version of Mexico and its culture in order to attract international audiences. This was seen in Like water for chocolate in its portrayal of Mexico as an ideal and tourist friendly Mexico. However, in Amores Perros Shaw believed the vast success was also attributed to the director s focus on making the characters relatable and familiar. These ideas and motives behind the success of these films was made clear by Shaw s historical knowledge gave much needed insight into the history of Mexican film. I could also use focus groups in the NHS to find out information about ways to improve the efficiency, equity, effectiveness and quality of health care services they provide. After carrying out the focus group, the NHS is left with a lot of qualitative data which is good as it is full of details and information on ways to improve the educational leaflets however the data has to be compared and recorded based on the views and opinions of people that represent their target population which is not easy to do. In order to make comparisons, the NHS needs large samples of information because they want good qualitative answers to make comparisons and also to evaluate the service they provide, however a focus group is likely to present a small sample of information for the NHS but if the focus group is representative it will generate good accurate results. However the NHS may need a large sample so using a focus group may not be suitable. • 4. Brazos Theological Argumentary On The Bible Exodus On the individual side of commentaries, I used the Brazos theological commentary on the bible exodus by Thomas Joseph White to analyze Ex 2:1 21. The main difference with The New Interpreter s Bible is that this book seems to be solely focus on the events in exodus. Before the introduction we are given a set of series prefaces compose of acknowledgements and abbreviations to help us read the book. The organization of the book starts with an index named contents where we are given the number of chapters and subcategories of these chapters. In the chapter part we start with Introduction, then Deliverance from Egypt: Exodus 1 12, Wilderness: Exodus 13 18, Covenant: Exodus 19 24, Cultic Rituals: Exodus 25 31, and at last Fall and Eschatological Restoration: Exodus 32 40. The introduction is divided in three categories, the darkness and light of god, the division of the book of exodus, the four senses of scripture. These points summarize of the book literally. First the darkness and light of god, Mr. Joseph White argues that the dense dark aspects are often around us. Sometimes we get the idea that God has abandoned us. We may think so because we have always seen God as a God of dazzling brilliance (Rev. 21:11; Hebrews 12:29) and God in good times. However, this type of idea is challenged when one reads Exodus 20:21 As the people stood in the distance, Moses approached the dark cloud where God was. With the labour market central to unemployment and the distribution of jobs, many factors arise as the key influences on unemployment. With an incredible number of industries facing high demand by consumers, it is speculated that employment would feature an increase to compensate. However, many factors of the labour market contradict this and instead increase unemployment. Factors such as the level of economic growth, technological changes, trends in productivity and the trends in inadequate education have adverse effects on how unemployment increases and decreases. Unemployment Overview Unemployment in the Australian economy is defined as the state of involuntary idleness of work, and the rate of such. An extremely complex, it is often segregated into four key demographics for analysis: national, state, youth and mature. Each of these four demographics feature varying trends and are consistently affected by different factors of the labour market. • 14. Persuasive Essay On Political Advertising Political ads can be viewed as annoying, excessive, biased, and unnecessary. This opinion is shared among many people within America with many wanting all ads to stop entirely. Now, are these ads truly needed or are they just to make a candidate look good? Certain strategies used in political campaigns can be confusing and frustrating. However, they can also help bring people together to discuss their opinions and beliefs in order to decide who to support. Political ads can encourage people to come together because of a common cause, improving our nation, and who is the best candidate for President. Political signs and commercials are one tactic that can be misleading. Many people feel that candidates use bandwagons and endorsements to help them look good and promise immediate changes which are either not possible or can take a long time to achieve. This is like with Mondale Ferraro, who made many different types of images to make him look more popular (Document A). However, these images also help people decide who would be better for the job based off of looks, beliefs, and other attributes. I would use these to help make myself stand out from the other candidates by putting in true aspects into my campaign so they do not put false hope into what I stand for. This also helps decide what issues the public focuses on the most based on their beliefs. The candidates running for President try to get rid of the issues the public are concerned about to encourage the public to vote for them. Bandwagons use well known and respected groups of people to influence the public to vote for a candidate because they are doing it. This can be done with several methods, like endorsement, glittering generalities, and even using a spoil system to intrigue people into electing them. This is like the Reagan TV ad where he tried to improve his image with the actions he had promised, which spread with the public (Document B). In addition, it helps clarify what people want most out of a candidate for their benefit, as well as their own benefits. I would use bandwagons, because it helps get other people s attention and make myself popular to others. But these methods can help a candidate who already has a lot of public support. This ... • 16. Four Causes Of Solar Eclipses Solar eclipses are known for their beautiful and definitely interesting look they give upon the naked eye. To be more precise it is when the sun, moon, and earth are lined up in the same plane. When doing so the moon goes in between the Earth and sun either covering or partially covering our most closest star. There happens to be four kinds of eclipses in total. Total, annular, partial, and hybrid. Each eclipse has different t affects, causes, and looks that give them their name. The first eclipse to review is Total solar eclipses. Studies show that on average, they tend to appear every 18 months on Earth. Also, there are two types of shadows named the umbra and the penumbra. An umbra is when a certain part of the shadows shows no light whatsoever. A penumbra is lighter and more funnel shaped shadow that allows only a little bit of sunlight to pass. During this eclipse the moon cast its umbra in just a few hours which means that it can sweep a third of the way around the planet! Some say that if in the path of the umbra you may see the suns disk diminish into a crescent. This is because the moons shadow heads toward them. A corona is the tenuous outer atmosphere of the sun. Briefly during this eclipse, the corona is revealed as the sun is completely covered. • 22. Summary Of Videotape By Don Delillo How can we determine what s real? The mass media were once thought of as holding up a mirror to, and thereby reflecting, a wider social reality. Now that reality is only definable in terms of surface reflection of the mirror was once said by Dominic Strinati (1992). The short fiction, Videotape, was written by Don DeLillo in 1997 published in one of his novels Underworld (1997). The themes of postmodernism and how the role of mass media forms false representation, resulting in changes of the meaning behind events, is centered on the story Videotape . The impact of media attracts the society to postmodernism with the obsession of violence. Don DeLillo was influenced by several historical events surrounding him such as the Vietnam war, John F. Kennedy Assassination, the Civil War Rights, and the revolts that occurred afterwards. The material in his novels are described as, Living with the dangerous times (Nance, Web). Don DeLillo was born on November 20, 1936 in Bronx, New York. He didn t grow up with an interest in writing until his teenage years, where he began reading during a summer job. The first novel he has ever written was called Americana, which was finally published in 1971. The story, Videotape, demonstrates that the society is centered on death and violence through media because it is viewed as more realistic than the actual event. One of the key points in the story is that the accessibility of technology creates realism, which portrays daily life ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Introduction In this study I want to look at the effect of task complexity on the relationship between team based incentives and performance. I will thus try to find whether task complexity is a moderating variable in the relation between incentives and performance and specifically try to find whether this effect differs for individual incentives and team incentives. When looking at incentive contracts in management accounting literature, usually theories from the field of economics and psychology are combined. In some circumstances these theories can lead to quite opposing predictions of the effect of incentives on performance. In general incentive contracts are a decision influencing control tool used to make sure that people s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example Lazear (2000) empirically finds in a manufacturing environment that pay for performance increases productivity with 44%. On the other hand Bonner et al. (2000) find that only in about 50 percent of the experiments they examined, financial performance led to improvements in productivity. This thus means that the relationship between incentives and performance may be dependent on the situational circumstances and they do not work in every environment. Specifically in their review of experiments Bonner et al. (2000) find that when the complexity of the task increases (relative to the skill of the participants), the likelihood of observing a positive effect of incentives on performance decrease. Bailey and Fessler (2011) also find that monetary incentives are more effective when the task is less complex. On the other hand in a review of empirical studies on financial incentives and performance Jenkins et al. (1999) find that financial incentives are generally related to output quantity but not to quality. Furthermore, they find task type is independent of the relation between financial incentives and performance. If the performance on a complex task is more difficult to measure, the agent s effort thus has less influence on the performance measure (more noise, less sensitivity) and the measure is less effective. All the above studies are concerned with individual incentives. Apart from research on individual incentives there is also a lot ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In addition, eagerness for exploration was increased by a lack of opportunity at home. Due to the Reconquista, many Spanish men of the upper classes found their opportunities greatly limited. • 30. The Arian Controversy Caused A Great Uproar During Early... The Arian controversy caused a great uproar during early Christianity. The controversy argued that because God is divine and ontologically perfect, He cannot change because it would signal a defect in perfection. It also argues that If Jesus is the incarnation of the Word (Logos), and the Logos is divine, like the father, then God would have changed through the human life of Jesus. With this, Arians say that God would have had to suffer in Jesus, which is impossible. Now because of theses reasons, Jesus (Logos) could not be divine, but instead would be a great exalted creature. This creature would be higher, spiritually, than humans, but would be under God. Arians also argue, Jesus could not be human if we were divine and if Jesus would not be human then there was no way he could become salvific, meaning we cannot be saved or follow in Jesus examples. Another issue that the Arians argued was, if Jesus is the Son of God and is begotten, he must have had a beginning in time. It is God s essence to be eternal so the Son of God/Jesus must be a form of a creature. There was no possible way that Jesus would be God. Finally they believed that the Trinity is three separate beings. The Council of Nicea was called by Constantine to have an official ruling as to who Jesus was and how he related to God. Other issues were dealt with, during the conference, but when it came to the understand of Jesus and God, things got interesting. Eusebius was a supporter of Arianism and during his ... Marfan Syndrome Pros And Cons Marfan syndrome (MFS) is an autosomal dominant disease of the connective tissue, affecting mostly the skeletal, ocular and cardiovascular systems, caused by mutations in the FBN1 gene. (Fernandes et al 2016) It was first described just about 100 years ago and was one of the first conditions classified as a heritable disorder of the connective tissue. MFS lies at one end of a phenotypic spectrum, with people in the general population who have one or another of the features of MFS at the other end, and those with a variety of other conditions in between. The incredible variability of Marfan syndrome and the lack of identifiable phenotype genotype correlations point to the occurrence of modifier genes. With tax revenue in such a precarious state, it is unwise to continue using a tax system that is failing the state economy. The legislature should pursue prudent reform on corporate taxes to increase the possibility of recouping lost revenue from past years, or at the very least, prevent another round of budget shortfalls and spending cuts. Although both raising and lowering the tax rates have a positive impact on state productivity, we contend that lowering the tax rate will lead to a greater economic by incentivizing companies to conduct their business in Iowa, resulting in more economic growth and leading to more income that can be taxed for revenue collection. Hidden Champions has low leverage and therefore mostly uses its own cash flow for funding R D and the development of new innovations. Simons is vertically integrated with operations on a geographic scale with most of his locations situated away from major centres. • 42. Essay on How Hitler Mantained his Power Consent is the permission for something to happen or the agreement to do something. Although admittedly it played a part in initiating Hitler s power and then later maintaining it, it was not the most important element. Terror was the most important element in maintaining his power. The other elements that were important in maintaining Hitler s power include propaganda, necessity of economic depression and the removal of other political parties in Germany. Interpretations A and B refute the view that consent was the most important element in maintaining Hitler s regime in power. Interpretations C and D however support the view that consent played an important element, albeit interpretation C was consent through propaganda. Hans Rothfels ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Propaganda was an important element as it enhanced the effectiveness of the terror; the Nazis ensured the population knew what would happen to Nazi opposition. One case in particular highlighting the high level of terror is that a court case by a Cologne Judge. A middle aged woman was sentenced to death even though her crime was just theft of curtains, clothes and coffee. The population became aware of the ruthlessness of the courts mainly via the press. Historian Robert Gellately enforces this, crime and punishment stories were crafted according to specific guidelines laid down by the Propaganda Ministry and press officers to obtain the maximum public relations effect . Propaganda Minister Josef Goebbels concluded that propaganda was required to strengthen the existing support from people and to convince those who did not support the party that they needed to. As Goebbels once said, The essence of propaganda consists in winning people over to an idea so sincerely, so vitally, that in the end they succumb to it utterly . The ability to convince the population into succumbing to ideology meant that there was as a whole a collective acceptance of the regime which meant there were no mass uprisings or opposition against it. Thus, Hitler s regime was able to maintain power through the publishing of terror through propaganda. The economic crisis was also mandatory in the maintenance of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

William Yeats is considered the most important poet of the twentieth century. The Irish poet and dramatist William Butler Yeats (1865 1939) was perhaps the greatest poet of the 20th century. He won the Nobel Prize for literature in 1923 and was the leader of the Irish Literary Renaissance (Gale). Yeats started his career with plays, and eventually moved to poetry. Poetry gave him a loud voice to express what he wanted. One of his most remembered pieces of work is Sailing to Byzantium. In Yeats s Sailing to Byzantium three messages are displayed. In Sailing to Byzantium, William Yeats expresses the message of young people only being interested in the present. When people are young they are inexperienced and dumb. Yeats acknowledges this idea in his poem and explains the idea that being young is fun, young people like to be together, or in love. He realizes young people are only interested in the present and nothing else. Caught in that sensual music all neglect, monuments of unaging intellect (1). Yeats explains that the old will try and give wisdom to the young, but it s useless because the young doesn t wish to listen. The young are too busy living life to the fullest, to sit down and listen to the words of a wise old man. Yeats ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. The New Use of Information Technology in the Operating Room The new use of information technology in the operating room: The future of telemedicine in the OR for patients in underserved areas Information technology has become a critical component of all facets of healthcare and has taken on increased prominence in operating rooms as well as in other components of care such as diagnosis and screening. No longer mainly used for improved electronic record keeping (although this is one of its strengths), information technology is changing the healthcare system in profound ways. The gap between information technology and clinical technology has been getting smaller and more and more functions of IT are now part and parcel of ordinary surgical procedures (Lockridge 2013). For example, while x rays and MRIs are historically a clinical technology but now they re being captured digitally and used in electronic medical records and for image guided surgery, bringing them into the realm of information technology (Lockridge 2013). One of the most up and coming fields featuring new technology is that of telemedicine or remote medical technology: once it was mainly relegated to consultation, now it has also been applied in the operating room. The use of telemedicine to break the isolation of the operating room is a highly achievable goal. An open operating room has information on demand for the personnel, fluid communication among operating room personnel, and broad interaction with the learner community and consultants. Essay on Formal Lab Report Graphing Anaylsis Angelina Mass Valderrama CHM1032 summer 12 Graphing and Estimating Formal Lab Report Introduction: Today scientists put acquired data into a form of a graph. This said graph is designed to help make predictions and furthermore, study and understand the experiment and its contents at hand. The Graphing and Estimating lab involves just that. The lab is designed to collect data from several tests involving burn time of a candle. Oxygen, O2, is a kind of gas. A lot of the air we breathe as human beings is oxygen. Which is good since we need oxygen to stay alive. Oxygen is also a primary element in fire. Fire is a chemical process. Three elements are needed for this process: oxygen, heat and fuel. Without one of those ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If the difference between the recorded times are more than 10%, add a third trial. Repeat these steps with each size beaker. Calculate the average time for each beaker and record the data. The next step of the lab exercise is determining the exact volume of the beakers used in the burn time experiment. Fill a beaker to the top with water. Carefully pour the water from the beaker into a graduated cylinder. Reading the meniscus, record the exact volume into a data sheet. Repeat this step with each size beaker until all volumes are recorded into the data sheet. The final process of the Graphing and Estimating lab is plotting the recorded data onto a graph. Using the data recorded for burn time, in seconds, place the data on the vertical axis. Use the horizontal axis for the volume in milliliters. With the data points plotted determine whether a straight line or a simple curve will best represent the data. Now, obtain a jar and determine the volume. Fill the jar to the top with water. Carefully pour the water into a graduated cylinder. Precisely record the data. Using the plotted data on the graph and the simple curve or straight line to predict how long it would take for the flame to burn out on the candle if it was covered with the jar that was just measured. Results: (Data and calculations) Figure 1.1 Stated Beaker Size (mL) | Actual Beaker Size (mL) | Burning Time Trial 1 | Burning Time Trial 2 | Burning Time Average | 600 | 628 | 28.3 ... • 46. human trafficking Essay human trafficking issues: the article starts out with a clear emphasis on the cooperation between the different segments of society; cooperation between the state, civil society , and religious groups and institutions on the issues of human trafficking and prostitution, stating how they are immoral, illegal, unethical and how they should be considered as a taboo by societies in Europe, especially Cyprus since the exploitation of women has been rapidly increasing recently. Where all the 800bars and 70 cabarets take advantage of uneducated, poor, unlucky and socially corrupted women at the cost of reasons such as profit and pleasure, which may seem as lame reasons when compared to the life and future of a young woman. Another solution was the campaigning proposal, where protectors of human rights helped increase public awareness of exactly what is going on and to what extent women are exploited. the article was completely pro the abolishment of trafficking and prostitution practices and there were no arguments or debates in defense of the practices taking place in society. There are a number of measures that should be undertaken by society for the improvement of the existing situation before it gets any worse, making it harder to fix later on, which would lead to a degraded corrupted society in the possible near future. as the article mentioned, churches should be a big part in the process of helping the exploited woman with the trauma their jobs brought to them. Also, the public should be made clearly aware of the situation, and all the details included in the issue of prostitution and how traffickers force it upon their employees. Also, more patrollers should be made available to try and control the situation by arresting traffickers, which may also scare off other traffickers involved in similar situations. These among many other solutions deal with the short term perspective of these issues, but more extreme issues should be taken into deep consideration for the general prevalence of such isuues to be significantly reduced in the Cypriot society. But these major global problems are unfixable due to the mere ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 47. Records Management System DESIGN BY SIMON MONTEVERDI Records Management System: The purpose of the records management system is for the user to be able to store information in simple plain text files ready for editing manually portable safety. The coding includes multiple functions that are of convenience for the user. The system can be used to keep any records of information as is set out as a user management system. The script begins with the creation of a main function which will become the menu system. The while loop is implemented so that the main system will allow the person to either exit the loop or add a user. The main menu offers the user to either add a user to the records of the system or to simply exit. The two options are created through their respective statements below: The createUser function is used to initiate a list of information. The list will be used to hold on to all the information inserted by the user for it to be added to the records. After that, another loop is created. This loop will be used for when the user wishes to exit the loop simply entering the word exit can motion the loop into action. When the operator has exited the loop, information may be entered into the system. A command is then given to open a certain file and insert a new string (a line which will be added to the records document.) Once the new information has been entered, the stream to the file is closed so as to avoid errors to/from the file later on and also saves all alterations that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
