What is operating system?
An operating system (OS) is software that
manages computer hardware and software resources and
provides common services for computer programs.
The operating system is an essential component of
the system software in a computer system. Application
programs usually require an operating system to function.
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
 PROCESSOR:1 GHz or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit
(x64) processor
 RAM:1 GB RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
 HARDDISK:16 GB available disk space (32-bit) or 20
GB (64-bit) -- just for the OS, not applications or data
files
STEP:1
 Enter your computer's BIOS.
 Turn off the computer that you want to install Windows on
then turn it back on.
 When the BIOS screen appears or you are prompted to do so,
press Del, Esc, F2, F10, or F9 (depending on your computer’s
motherboard) to enter the system BIOS.
 The key to enter the BIOS is usually shown on the screen.
STEP:2
Find your BIOS's boot options menu.
Select the CD-ROM drive as the first boot device of your
computer.
STEP:3
Save the changes of the settings. Press the button indicated on
the screen or select the save option from the BIOS menu to save
your configuration.

Power on the PC and insert the Windows 7 disc into
your CD/DVD drive.
Start your computer from the disc.
After you have placed the disc into the disc drive, start your
computer.
When the computer starts, press a key if you are asked if you
would like to boot from the disc by pressing any key.
After you choose to start from the disc, Windows Setup will
begin loading.
STEP:6
Now you will get the windows setup window. This the
part to select language for you windows.
Select “English” and click Next.
Also there will be a “INSTALL NOW” button click
on it and proceed to next step.
STEP:7
There will be a license agreement.
Check on ‘I ACCEPT’ and Proceed to Next.
STEP:8
After that there will be an option to install windows.
“UPGRADE” and “CUSTOM”. Right now we are
installing a clean version so click on CUSTOM.
STEP:9
In this step you will do partitioning of your drive.
Be careful, this is the most important part of the
installation, In this you allocate spaces to your drive. If
you want to create a new drive, simply click on a drive
and then click ‘NEW”. A New drive will be created.
STEP:10
when you have create the drives, simply select the drive
in which you to install windows. Click “Format”, this
will erase all the previous data on you that drive. Click
“NEXT” to processed
STEP:11
Now when you file are installed. Your pc will be
rebooted and now you will see is a ‘User Settings’
Screen. Simply add your Name and Password and
Proceed to ‘Next’.
STEP:12
In this step you have to activate your windows. Simply
look at the back of your windows CD/DVD cover there
will be a PRODUCT KEY. Add this key into your PC
and Click ‘NEXT’.
STEP:13
Now you have installed you windows. Set Your
Time and Time Zone.
STEP:14
If the computer is connected to your own
personal network, choose Home Network.
If you are connected to the network at you
workspace, choose Work Network.
If you’re connected to a public network
from places such as restaurants and shops
choose Public Network.
STEP:15
You installed windows. Now you can see your
desktop.
