In the poem, Dulce et Decorum Est by Wilfred Owen, shows how truly horrifying war can be. By
using incredibly detailed imagery and effective language to show just what happened during war time
and making readers experience feelings such as pity, sorrow, and remorse. Owen describes the many
hardships that the soldiers went through even so far as describing a deadly gas attack that claimed one
of the soldiers and had burned into his mind the scaring imagery of someone he knew choking to
death because of the deadly mist that was all around them. Owens poem is very genuine since he had
participated in the bloody savagery that was World War 1. The poem begins with a detailed description
of the lifestyle and poor conditions that the soldiers had to endure on a day to day basis which led

They mate at sea then they return to land at night. The mother uses her hand flippers to dig a circular
hole 40 to 50 centimeters deep. When the nest is dug, she starts filling it with soft shelled eggs until
she has placed around 50 to 350 eggs. Some only lay 250 eggs depending on the species. After she
fills the hole with eggs she fills it with sand and makes sure it has a smooth surface. She then
camouflages the nest with grass so it s harder for predators to find. It takes her about 30 to 60 minutes

University of California and at Yale University as well. He is one of the well known American artists

writes his sonnet differently than the accepted norm of the time, and his subject is unlike any other:

poetry. He leans toward the English sonnet, writing in iambic pentameter with fourteen lines separated
into three quatrains a set of four lines and a couplet set apart at the end. However, Frost sets an

Assignment Questions On Teaching And New Perspective
I chose to revise assignments number two and three because they were my two favorite assignments
out of the three we did during the semester. I felt that they were unique in the sense that I had never
been asked to do something like this in an English class before. It is important to enjoy the
assignments that you revise because the process takes a lot of time and effort. A writer must be fully
engaged with his pieces to be able to revise effectively. I also think that they will allow me to work on
two completely different aspects of my writing. In project two, my revisions are focused around
incorporating sources and supporting evidence. I also look to improve development and new
perspective in this piece as well. I plan on addressing these areas in a variety of ways through out my
revisions. I will look at the way I incorporate sources to make sure that they flow smoothly and are
needed and effective where they are currently placed. I will also look at the frequency at which I
incorporate sources to see if there is opportunity to incorporate more. As far as the areas of
development and new perspective go, I will look into my analysis and see if that can be strengthened
