The Subculture Of Craft Beer
1. What is the subculture s core purpose? What motivates, unifies and drives the members?
It s Friday night in the cosmopolitan city of Cape Town and all the cool, hip young professionals are
out to celebrate the start of the weekend. After doing a tour of the most popular and crowded bars, I
found that all of these partygoers are drinking the same drink: Craft Beer.
As a student of ethnography I was interested in this social phenomenon of craft beer in Cape Town,
and even more so about this subculture of drinkers that would pay more for a craft beer, then a
standard, regular, cheaper beer.
Craft beer in this context refers to beer that has been brewed locally and has not been distributed by
the mass market, for example SAB. After doing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Fresh grocery stores such as Food Lovers Market, Woolworths and Spar could partner with Craft Beer
Brands to improve their sales. In America , Lowes Foods, a locally bent grocery store chain based in
Winston Salem, North Carolina started selling Craft beer. They installed a Beer Den, where customers
can sample beer and then buy a pint to drink while they shop. This was such a success that they
implemented the same strategy in Whole Foods. The in store taps enable customers to taste different
beers and provide opportunities for customers to meet the brewer; a strategy I believe will work well
in South Africa.
Adventure stores such as Cape Union Mart, Outdoor Warehouse and Due South could also partner
with Craft Beer, buy selling it at their stores. My research showed that this sub culture has a strong
sense of adventure, which makes the partnership with these adventure stores perfect, in my

Copyright Law Should Encourage Creativity And Innovation...
Introduction Longer copyright terms can prove beneficial for large mass media companies as
evidenced by The Walt Disney Company s lobbying for the Copyright Term Extension Act. This act,
often dubbed the Mickey Mouse Protection Act, extended copyright protection for an additional
twenty years in 1998. Consequently, Mickey Mouse is now set to enter the public domain on January
1, 2024. Disney will once again have the opportunity to lobby for extension and evade Mickey s
copyright expiration, thus preventing its most iconic character from entering the public domain. This
holds pressing significance because lobbying for further extension legislation would likely occur
within the next few years. The duration of copyright determines the length of protection. Limitations
on this length exist to ensure works enter the public domain. Therefore, the length of protection is one
of the most relevant and debated issues regarding copyright law. The proponents and opponents of
copyright term extension make compelling arguments, but both sides agree that copyright law should
encourage creativity and innovation. If Disney is successful in once again lobbying for an extension of
duration, a substantial number of works will fail to enter the public domain in a timely manner. This
will, consequently, lead to a stifling of creativity and a suppression of innovation that could be
detrimental to progress in the realms of science and the useful arts.
Argument
As stated, the proponents and

Athletes During The Winter Olympics
The 2010 Winter Olympic Games are rapidly approaching with athletes from all around the world
getting ready to compete for the gold medal. The winter Olympics are considerably smaller than the
summer Olympics as there are less options for winter sports played as during the summer ones. There
are also fewer countries and athletes competing as some countries don t have these sports or the winter
climate or terrain to sustain a winter sport. This does not always prevent athletes from competing,
however, as proven by the Jamaican bobsledding team years ago. They took strong runners and
athletes from Jamaica and taught them the basics of the bobsled using a wooden sled on wheels. Their
initial particpation into the Olympics was a big crowd pleaser. This article mentions a few of the
various sports at the Olympics performed by some athletes like the Telluride ski instructor that teaches
Telluride ski lessons and will be competing in the giant Slalom event.

Why Are The Articles Of Confederation Ineffective
Shortly after America gained independence from England, Americans were faced with the trouble of
setting up a strong central government. Several delegates representing their respective states were
called to the Continental Congress, where they decided to put together a constitution for the new
nation. Delegates agreed that the powers of the government must be limited, so that they wouldn t
resemble the British government. The constitution created by the Congress became known as the
Articles of Confederation (1777). Although the government under the Articles of Confederation
proved to be useful in establishing western lands, they provided an ineffective form of government
due to the economic failures that plagued America. Through the laws such ... Show more content on

Since Congress was not able to control interstate commerce, states introduced tariffs in order to
promote internal trade. States placed high tariffs on goods coming from other states and low tariffs for
foreign goods in an attempt to attract foreign goods to their state. Additionally, under the Articles of
Confederation, Congress was limited from demanding taxation from the states. Due to this, Congress
was not able to generate enough money to operate despite the land ordinances they created. This
eventually led to a revolt, which came to be known as Shay s Rebellion (1786). This was a revolt
against the government for failing to issue paper money, ease taxes, and prevent property foreclosures.
Members of Shay s Rebellion demanded money as compensation and began conducting acts of
violence. Authorities responded by raising a small army to put down the revolt. The government was
not able to provide hard cash to citizens, due to the fact that the government wasn t able to generate
enough money for itself. Under the Articles, Congress could not enforce its tax collection program. It
was limited to establishing a tax quota for each of the states and then requesting them to contribute
their share on a voluntary basis, however this quota was seldom satisfied by any state. The economic
limitations that the Articles placed on Congress severely hindered Congress ability to fulfill its duties

A Defining Moment Essay
Many people influenced and events my reading and writing development throughout my childhood
from my mother, my elementary librarian, and Sesame Street, to getting my first pair of glasses. We
all have defining moments in our lives where we can look back and say, That moment changed my
life. This is the story of the defining moment that changed the way I read and write, and I learned it
from a whale!
It was the beginning of my seventh grade year. I was about twelve years old and, I guess you could
say a nerd. I did well in school so I was placed in the Gifted and Talented program with other nerds in
my class. As part of this program we were required to read at a certain level or read a certain number
of books each semester. You ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I thought to myself, hey, I like whales. I ve read stories about ships and pirates and stuff before. This
looks like something I might like. I can still smell the old paper and threaded binding resonating in my
mind as I opened the book and scrolled through the pages, soaking in the vibrant illustrations of what
would soon become my obsession for the next six months.
Happy with my selection and feeling fairly proud of myself, I take the book to the check out desk. The
desk is occupied by the stereotypical librarian. She is an older lady probably in her sixties with gray
wiry hair and half square bi focal glasses that sit on the end of her nose. As I place the book on the
counter, she looks down her nose and through her glasses at me with a look of skepticism. Frowning
as she speaks, she tells me that maybe I should choose something else. Undaunted, I refuse and ask to
check out the book. She gives a few other suggestions but again, I refuse. She wishes me luck as she
slides it back to me and I stuff the hefty book into my backpack.
I start reading the book and right away it is intimidating from the very first paragraph. I am faced with
language and sentence structure I do not understand, what is a bedfellow and why does he carry a
purse? Is he gay? Immediately I am second guessing my decision but I am determined to get through
this book. It takes me the better part of a week to get through the first chapter. I

Examples Of Lies And Deception In Much Ado About Nothing
MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING THEME OF LIES AND DECEIT
Lies and cheating is ever present in Much Ado About Nothing... but the characters never expect it.
This is one gullible crew.
Deception appears as the tool of villains to spread chaos and unhappiness. However, it s also a device
used by friends to improve each other s lives. Everyone from scoundrels to nice daddy s girls to
clergymen use deviousness so deception doesn t come with a value judgment, it s neither absolutely
good or absolutely bad. Whether deception is okay or not depends on the intentions of the deceivers if
the intention is to promote happiness, then the deceiver is a good friend, but if the deceiver intends
harm, then he s a nasty jerk.
Questions About Lies and Deceit
1. Is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All of the major plots are actually set in motion by the characters susceptibility to suggestion. They
only see what they want to, and they are no more misled than they allow themselves to be.
Deception is inherently bad. It is used in this play to sometimes bring out positive results, but those
outcomes are actually artificial, and easily undone.
MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING THEME OF LOVE
Ah l amour.
Love in Much Ado About Nothing is a super complicated topic. First of all, none of the characters
explicitly seek love out love is always second to something else in this play. Love might be the
inadvertent result of hatred, or the incidental fact of marriage. Though the play is about romance, the
plot seems to highlight the fact that love is only one of many factors that goes into a love affair. Love
often comes with difficulty or complication from outside circumstances (like a scheming villain), but
it s just as often thwarted by lovers themselves.
Questions About Love
1. How does loyalty in the play work as a kind of love? Which characters are loyal, and to whom?
2. When Claudio says that he should ve known friendship wouldn t be able to stand up to love (when
he thinks that Don Pedro has stolen Hero from him), is he projecting his own weak allegiances and
inability to love both friends and

Swan Lake Gcse Analysis
Swan lake is currently a standout amongst the most well known of all ballet performances, which is
created by Pyotr Tchaikovsky in 1875 76. The scenario was in two acts which were telling the story of
Odette, a princess, who turned into a swan by an evil sorcerer s curse. The prince Siegfried, the hero
of the story, a handsome prince, who falls in love with Odette. Princess Odette, the white Swan is the
lead ballerina role, she was alluded as a deplorable champion and is constantly depicted as vulnerable,
tender, mindful, unobtrusive and thoughtful. As the courageous woman of the story, she has been
changed into a swan by Von Rothbart and can just recover her human structure during the evening.
She has numerous associates under the same spell, who have made her their ruler, thus her title The
Swan Queen. He is a youthful Prince, loaded with brilliant soul and excitement, and appears to have

There was the evolution of the pointe shoe. Choreographers were so propelled by the new,

dance turned into a great deal more specialized and gifted type of move. Amid this period of
expressive dance, there was more coordinated effort between the artists and the choreographers. The
choreographers made the lyrics which is the story or account thought and they choreographed the
move to oblige it. They then imparted this to the performers who composed the score to oblige the

Mrs Fields Cookies
Situation: In 1977, Debbi Fields opened her first Mrs. Fields store in Palto Alto, California. The Mrs.
Fields store concept quickly expanded to a national and international level. With more than 500 Mrs.
Fields cookie stores in 25 states and five countries on four continents, Mrs. Fields Cookies was
dependent on a corporate structure that was technologically advanced. The company s organizational
strategy included a flat organizational structure feel and a management control system that put as
much decision making and intelligence into the store level PC as is necessary to free the manager to
do those things that uniquely people do (HBS, p.6).

In a networked organization, extensive use of communications technologies and networks ...renders it
easier to coordinate across functional boundaries (Pearlson, p.68). This is evidenced by the MIS
organization at Mrs. Fields . The MIS organization was divided into financial, sales, micro systems
and operations. It can also be argued that when Mrs. Fields Holdings, Inc. purchased La Petite
Boulangerie and reduced their administrative staff from 53 to 3, this was made possible by absorbing
the majority of the functions, including accounting, finance, and human resources into their existing
organization. This was undoubtedly made possible by there is evidencing the importance of

The Dark Side Of Zombies
Darkness devoured everything in sight. A sea of lifeless moans crashed into the walls that kept me
prisoner. I could feel the hot breath of those creatures seeping through the walls. Paranoia invaded my
brain like the disease that infested those monsters. They were constantly trying to get in. They knew I
was here, I was a meal trapped in a cage and every intake of breath was a ring of the dinner bell.
Suddenly the snaps of rotting wood punched my ear drum. The snarling monsters came tumbling
through the gaps, their twisting bodies shuffling towards me. As their outstretched limbs searched for
my flesh I was ripped away by the ring of a phone. The television had sucked me in once again.
Casting me in the middle of the fictitious apocalypse. The concept of zombies has always been a
welcomed thought to me but why? Why am I and other humans fascinated with the thought of this life
threatening concept? These creatures are known by many names. The undead, zombies, even the
popular tv show The Walking Dead refers to them as walkers. Within history we find that the term
zombie comes from Haitian folklore where corpse reanimation was achieved mostly through magic. In
recent times radiation, mental disease, scientific accidents, etc. attribute to this reanimation.
HISTORY
The idea of zombies can be traced all the way back to 8th century. Voodoo priests used black magic to
possess their victims or so they say. They actually applied a deadly poison from a porcupine fish

Summary Of The Guardian
The Guardian
For as long as time itself, humans have been weak and fragile, in need of Guardians to watch over
them. At birth, a child is given a Guardian, and for the remainder of their short life, that human is
protected and guided by an unseen force. These chosen few were fated to watch life pass on without
truly experiencing it. They are the lonely sentinels in an everlasting night, watching over a person s
dreams for seventy years before watching over another for seventy more, and on and on and on
through eternity.
Life offers infinite happiness, and thus, those who d hunt for this feeling of pure joy pay with misery
Fate collecting the debt and sentencing debtors to death. Every mortal has chosen to trade their bodies
on earth simply for the short, sweet taste of life. When that probationary period called mortal life
concludes, it is the Guardian that leads the soul out of the confines of the body and to that Afterlife we
speculate so much about. In regards to this Afterlife, there is not much that can be said. Not for fear of
instigating a war of religions, but more because it is unknown. The Guardians, because of their
immortality, are forbidden to enter that place. To understand something is to have power over it, and
the Guardians simply cannot comprehend the Afterlife; thus they are like children fearing the dark
because they cannot see what lurks within. No one to enter the Afterlife can return to share its secrets
with the world. Thus, the only information we

Minor Characters In The Film Strictly Ballroom
In the film, Strictly Ballroom, there are many topics that can be explored. The topic/statement that I
will be discussing is: Perhaps the films greatest treasure is its cast of minor and other characters, each
of whom is a gem of observation and performance. With their plastic faces and hired hair and their
deluding sense of self importance, they convey an almost pathetic conviction that all their actions are
for the greater good. Of the minor characters to choose from I have selected Barry Fife, Liz Holt and
Shirley Hastings.
The first character we will be analysing is Barry Fife. This character is a very superficial, self
absorbed as well as overly obsessed with his appearance. During the course of strictly Ballroom we
notice that Barry wears a lot of blue which helps portray his cold, uninvolved emotional state. He
firmly believes that his way is the right way and shows us this by the video he makes which is aptly
titled only way to dance . His arrogance is revealed when he makes a statement saying, Dance any
steps you want, but you won t win. This statement shows us that he believes he holds all the power
and is the dominant figure in the ballroom dancing community. Barry seems to only support
likeminded people and the reason for this is because he fears the idea of ... Show more content on

practice in the dance community. She wears yellow because she believes that this is her lucky colour,

The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe By C. S. Lewis
Good and Evil in Narnia
The book The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S Lewis has a plot full of good and evil. The
White Witch claims to be the queen of Narnia and Leads an army of evil creatures working with her.
The children: Lucy, Susan, Peter and Edmund represent the good side of Narnia including all the other
creatures and of course the king of all the land, the great lion Aslan. The characters in the story battle
with trust and relationships between themselves. This story relates to good and evil through conflict
between the White Witch, Aslan and the children. The kids in the book get sent to a professor s house
in the country so he can care for them because they are in the middle of a bomb dropping war. When
the kids get to the house they discover a wardrobe that Leads to another world called Narnia. Lucy and
Edmund are the first of the four to discover the world. This moment in the story is where the first
conflict between good and evil start. Lucy tell her brother and sister about Narnia and they do not

High School Dropout Rates
The APA is the leading scientific and professional organization representing psychology in the United
States, with a mission to advance the creation, communication, and application of psychological
knowledge to benefit society and improve people s lives. For these reasons, it is not surprising that the
American Psychological Association published an article in May of 2013, bringing to light the impact
of family and community poverty on high school dropouts (Rumberger, 2013). According to the APA,
an estimated 1.1 million individuals did not earn a high school diploma in 2012, and unfortunately the
drop out and the drop out s family are not the only ones affected, but the decision to drop out can also
affect all of society as well. With lasting consequences, even after earning a GED, it is safe to say that
something must be done to reduce the current dropout rate of approximately 7,000 people per day.
Why might not earning a high school diploma be such a big problem? To start, compared to high
school graduates, they are less likely to find a job and earn a living wage (Rumberger, 2013). It might
be necessary for a dropout to take advantage of public assistance ... Show more content on

Economic hardship may not only cause a great deal of stress for a high school dropout, but conditions
such as homelessness and hunger could also affect that dropout s children. The APA suggests that poor
students were five times more likely to drop out of high school than high income students (Rumberger,
2013). Poor students may become very uninterested in their education if they do not have a place to
call home and they may even be unable to learn on an empty stomach, which could result in another
individual dropping out of school. The young students could also find it necessary to search for
employment in order to contribute to the home. It seems that dropping out may be a vicious cycle that

the river; White Fang is forced to stay behind with Grey Beaver. Then the Indians moved their camp,

Ige Antibodies Live On The Surface Of Cells
IgE antibodies live on the surface of cells that are specifically designed to be involved in the
inflammatory response, mast cells and basophils. Mast cells are found predominantly in your surface
tissues (tissues close to the external environment) such as in your skin and in the mucous membranes
of your nose. Once the IgE has attached itself to an allergen, it sets off a series of events within the
cells that lead to degranulation, which is the process that releases molecules from vesicles that
regulate immune responses. Amongst these molecules is histamine.
According to Nordqvist (2015), histamine causes effects on the body by binding to histamine
receptors. There are four types of histamine receptors, H1 H4, but the main receptor ... Show more

Another symptom caused by histamines, shortness of breath and asthmatic like wheezing, when
smooth muscles contract in the airways.
Antihistamines alleviate the effects of histamine on the body, hence their name antihistamine. Taking
an antihistamine drug such as Claritin, Allegra, or Zyrtec prevents these effects. The drug races to the
H1 receptor and competes with the histamine. The histamine cannot bind wherever the drug binds,
therefore the histamine can t cause any irritating effects. It s always better to take an antihistamine
drug before you come into contact with an allergen. That way the antihistamine will have a higher
chance of binding to to the receptor than the histamine does. Antihistamines usually don t have side
effects but drowsiness is one side effect that is hard to avoid. When an antihistamine crosses the BBB,
or blood brain barrier, that exists between the circulatory system and the nervous system to stop
random molecules from getting into the brain and causing untold havoc (U.S. National Library of
Medicine, 2002) drowsiness occurs.
The first generation of antihistamine drugs, such as diphenhydramine, crossed the BBB almost
effortlessly and once they had crossed it sedation would set it. However newer antihistamines, known
as second generation antihistamines, have been modified to prevent them crossing the BBB as easily.
However, a new study indicates that the newer generation antihistamines tested caused daytime

fascinating. The King, Shahryar went on a rampage where he would marry the daughter of a merchant
every night and kill her the next morning after he had sex with her. You might be thinking, this must
be a mad man but hold your thoughts until after you have heard his reasoning for why he performed is
this gruesome act. Shahryar and his brother Shahzaman were both kings in two different countries.
Shahryar after not seeing his brother for quite some time, sent his vizier to bid him come visit him.
However the night before Shahzaman leaves he discovered that his wife was having an affair with the
cook of his palace. In his fury and rage he killed both his wife and the cook for disrespecting him like
this. Despite the ordeal he still went to visit his brother, but his wife s ... Show more content on

They however, have mastered the art of hiding it to keep up with this image of machoism. They do not
have the means to go to the extent as the king did but some of the things they do, as a result of being
betrayed is quite similar. Albert Ellis in his article SEXUAL PROMISCUITY in America concluded
that Promiscuity has become almost become a norm in our society especially in my generation. It is
one of the many reasons why relationships end. The irony of this compared to Shahryar s story is that
it is the have become promiscuous. This is not to say that all men are cheaters or all women are
faithful but statistics show that more men are unfaithful in their relationships for a variety of reason.
Most of the times both parties do not set out to hurt each other, they probably have been betrayed and
are now seeking to take their revenge by hurting as many people as they possibly can. Not realizing
that this only leads to a cycle of betrayal, hurt, and broken people in our society which benefits no

The Internal Revenue Service And The Current Tax Code
I am Michael Bull, a constituent of yours living in Murfreesboro, TN. I am part of a local citizen s task
force seeking reform of the Internal Revenue Service and the current tax code. No one likes paying
taxes, yet most acknowledge the necessity for them; and we all receive benefits from these taxes in
one form or another. However, the massive Internal Revenue Service and the overwhelming number
of tax laws and their complexity place undue burden on most tax payers and filers.
Issue Background
For corporations and individual tax filers alike, filing one s taxes is no small feat due to the tax code s
complexity and volume. The number of laws, exclusions, exemptions, credits, taxes, deductions, and
revisions are more than any one person ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Reforming the US tax code into a document a fraction of its current size would help elevate this type
of abuse and make it more difficult for people to misuse its content for their own personal agenda.
Rogue agents are not the only ones who abuse this monstrosity, the more tax savvy a filer is, the better
they are at tax avoidance with so many area to benefit. Whereas a less proficient tax filer or one who
cannot afford a professional to prepare their taxes are likely to lose out on deductions or credits they
may have otherwise been able to claim had they known about them. Also, with so many parts to the
tax code coupled with the number of tax filers, it is impossible to audit are tax returns filed by the
shrinking size of the Internal Revenue Service employees. This allows for more criminals to commit
fraud in their filings.
Another area of concern for us is the amount of time and money spent annually on filing tax returns to
ensure compliance of a document of this magnitude. According to the Internal Revenue Service s own
web site in a report presented to Congress 9 Jan. 2013 by the National Taxpayer Advocate Delivers
Annual Report to Congress; Focuses on Tax Reform, IRS Funding, and Identity Theft, individuals and
businesses spend about 6.1 billion hours a year complying with tax filing requirements. That is

The Iran Hostage Crisis
The late 20th century was a very turbulent time in American history. In 1976, Jimmy Carter was
elected to the presidency, and he had many goals to help better America. However, on November 4th,
1979, a group of radical students seized the United States embassy in Tehran, Iran. This completely
altered the course of American history and relations with the Middle East. This crisis had many
impacts on the United States. It caused the Energy Crisis which in turn caused the Recession of 1979.
The Iran Hostage Crisis also had political consequences for President Carter. It was a major factor that
contributed to him losing the election of 1980 to Ronald Reagan. Additionally, this crisis led to many
instances of racial discrimination toward ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Carter responded to the seizure of the embassy and the taking of hostages by applying diplomatic and
economic sanctions on Iran. Ten days after the start of the crisis, President Carter froze about $8
billion of Iranian assets. However, this did not rattle Khomeini, it empowered him. It was at this point
that it was realized that a solution to this crisis would be harder than anticipated. Ayatollah Khomeini
issued a set of demands in exchange for the hostages. First, the Shah must be returned to Iran to be put
on trial. Second, the U.S. needed to issue an apology for previous American actions, and third the U.S.
had to promise not to interfere in Iranian politics in the future. As expected, Carter did not comply
with these demands. He tried to work out diplomatic negotiations with Iran using a third party, but
those negotiations fell through (The Associated Press). President Carter was criticized heavily for not
doing more to resolve the Hostage Crisis. Since Carter saw that a diplomatic solution was not going to
come soon, he decided that the only way to solve the situation was by force. He employed a secret
operation known as Operation Eagle Claw. The plan was to land helicopters and planes outside of
Tehran, and then they would make their way to the embassy to rescue the hostages. However, the
mission was a complete failure; a dust storm caused a helicopter to crash into one of the planes, killing
eight service members.

U.s. Army Tactical Mobility Requirements Board Essay
1. In 1961, Secretary of Defence Robert S. McNamara sent a strongly worded memo to Army
Secretary Elvis J. Stahr. He ordered the Army, through the Chief of Staff of the Army, to implement air
mobility. This proved to be the birthright of the airmobile division and the eventual evolution of a new
doctrine of air combat.
2. The Howze Board, formally called the U.S. Army Tactical Mobility Requirements Board, was
formed a week after the above memo from the Secretary of Defence and was headed by Lieutenant
General Hamilton H. Howze.
3. The Howze Board was in operation from May through August 1962.
4. The main purpose of the board was to free the ground soldiers from the restrictions of battlefield
movement by replacing conventional ground transportation with aircraft.
5. The board came up with a proposal that consisted of what was referred to as an Army Reorganized
Airmobile Division (RAID), coupled with a corps task force, which resembled a small mobile field
army and was supported by a special support brigade.
6. Their recommended divisional organization was that the Army would form only two airmobile
divisions: the 1st Cavalry (Airmobile), an outgrowth of the 11th Air Assault Division in July 1965.
7. The second airmobile division, 101st Airborne Division was formed three years later.
8. July 1965, the 11th Air Assault Division was designated the 1st Cavalry Division (Airmobile).

Theories on Motivation Essay
Introduction:
Motivation can be defined as the inner power or drive that pushes one towards taking a particular
course of action. It is much related to desire and ambition and they all work in tandem (Sasson, 2001).
Motivation is influenced or caused by factors known as motivators. According to Sigmund Freud, we
are compelled to act by unconscious forces within us, which he called our id (Hofstede, 1980).
Motivators are either intrinsic (from within) or extrinsic (from without). Intrinsic motivational factors
refer to motivators that come from within an individual. They are not influenced by external factors.
This kind of motivation comes about as a result of self actualisation or fulfilling one s personal goals.

Maslow categorises human needs into five main areas shaped in a pyramid form, which are attained in
a hierarchical manner. According to Maslow (1943), lower needs take precedence and must be
fulfilled before higher level needs are activated. Thus, individuals progress from the bottom of the
pyramid of needs to the top.
Maslow s work has been markedly criticised for its failure to take into account individual differences
and cultures. Wahba and Bridgewell (1976) find very little evidence of the ranking of human needs as
described by Maslow or even the existence of a definite hierarchy of needs at all. On another front,
Hofstede (1984) criticises Maslow s work for being ethnocentric as it is based on an experiment on a
limited sample population in the U.S.A and cannot be extrapolated to describe a universal situation.
Alderfer s Existence, Relatedness and Growth Theory:
Alderfer (1969) distinguishes three categories of human needs that influence individual behaviours,
which are Existence needs, Relatedness needs and Growth needs. His work can be seen as a more
compact form of Maslow s Hierarchy of needs. However, he contrasts with Maslow s theory in that
the human needs he identified are not in anyway attained hierarchically nor do all individuals have to
go through the same process to attain their needs. Furthermore, Alderfer proposes the frustration

Persuasive Essay On Online Bullying
In today s progressive world, I believe it is better to consider online bullying in an immersed online
ethnographic research method, in order to fully understand how bullying is enacted in an online world.
It s also important to take this approach in order to understand what s misunderstood about online
bullying as a whole. Boyd (2010) states that if we are to know if online platforms act as a tool for
teenagers to perpetuate violence in the real world , we must look at what they are doing online. Boyd
finds that bullying does not dramatically go up or down when social media is introduced (Boyd 2015,
152). Digital spaces that are important in the lives of youth need to be understand both locally, and in
global contexts. Mallan, Ashford and Singh s (2010) article discusses iscapes as a way for todays
youth to hang out or communicate. The authors seek to answer the question, how do interactions
across iscapes affect the identity work carried out by today s youth. ( Mallan et al. 2010, 265).
Decheneaut et al. (2010) looks at an immersive ethnography in several online digital worlds. Bonilla
and Rosa state boldly that by using social media as their platform, subscribers can demand public
attention, and garner the attention from anthropologists by using hashtags (Bonilla et al. 2015, 5).
Technology changes how bullying is acted out, furthermore we consider online ethnographic
fieldwork in relationship to bullying as a real and viable part of anthropological studies.

Management Functions And Functions Of Management Essay
Assessing Management Functions
List the four functions of management and provide an overview of their purpose for the organization.
The four functions of management are planning, organizing, leading, and controlling. The planning
function establishes a way to attain the desired objectives, resolve issues and facilitate action. The
purpose of the planning function is to align the vision, culture, employees and the organizational
structure with the strategies, and this involves multiple levels across the organization. Ultimately,
planning is a needed function for business success (Huff 2009).
The leading function of management assists the managers in administering and overseeing the
performances of the staff. Leading allows management to give help to the employees by guiding them
towards achievement of the organization s goals and also pursuit of their personal and career goals
(Fontaine).
The purpose of the organizing function of management is to identify the best people, design a
structure and provide the needed resources to ensure the success of the organizational plans. The
controlling function of management focuses on the specific tasks of overseeing work pertaining to
company standards and rewarding superior performances. This is one of the tools I/O consultants can
use to devise a system that will identify, support, measure, assess, enhance, and reward employee
performance (Argosy University Online, 2016).

Essay On Social Class Discrimination
Social class discrimination is what one can observe every day in a life. People around the world have
the different social status which is caused either by their degree or family and finally, there own
personal efforts. As far as U.S. and Canada are concerned they also hold social discrimination but,
how it is caused and how it is either heredity or circumstance is different in each country. However, in
both countries the system is merit based and either class has the chance of growing up or coming
down and gain their own values. Nevertheless, in some odd cases, I personally believe the one s status
can be based on their ancestry s class which on this occasion only it may not be impartial.

Nonetheless, there are some odd cases that one gains social class based on ancestry which personally I
can strongly say that it is not fair and most of them do not deserve that status. For example, in many
middle eastern countries, the new generation usually benefits from their father s social status, no
matter their own efforts. Additionally, this kind of ancestry based social class has always existed in the
world but in most countries, first world countries, governments stopped this system and opened the
path for each individual to grow. Moreover, regarding the effect of one s father social status, statistics
show that the father s economic status in the U.S. affects the child s social status more compared to
Canada. All in all, The U.S. has less economic mobility than Canada (Corak 2009). As in illustration,
if a family lives in the lower class it is more likely for their children to be also part of the lower class.
In my opinion, it is inevitable to stop this trend, due to the fact the opportunities that one faces in life
is strictly determined by what his/her family can provide.
Regarding incomes, the upper class has far more income than others. However, those are only the
minority of the world s population and they are usually wealthy because of their ancestors. For
instance, Donald Trump had been living in a wealthy family since he was born and currently he
possesses a significantly high net worth, however, he personally put

Comparing Plato s Meno And Socrates
In Plato s Meno, the characters Socrates and Meno are introduced as Socrates being a teacher and
Meno being a young aristocrat. Meno questioned Socrates on whether virtue is teachable, acquired
through practice, or is natural. Socrates replied that he knows not what virtue is, so if he does not
know, how could he know what qualities it possess. Meno jumped at the opportunity to define virtue
to Socrates but each definition is refuted. Meno and Socrates failed to reach an agreement on a
definition. Meno, however, raised an important question during this debate and this sparked an
interesting discussion. His question was, And how will you enquire, Socrates, into that which you do
not know? What will you put forth as the subject of enquiry? And if you find what you want, how will
you ever know that this is the thing which you did not know? (80e, Plato) In other words, he s asking
Socrates how he knows what definition he s looking for if he does not know the qualities virtue
possess as he previously stated. At the time Meno rightfully seemed skeptical about the concept of
virtue because it appeared to be very paradoxical to him. Meno believed it was ... Show more content

The Impact Of Franz Ferdinand s Assassination On World War I
In 1914 Gavrilo Princip, a member of the Serbian Black Hand, assassinated Archduke Franz
Ferdinand, heir to the Austro Hungarian Empire, instigating an immediate cause of World War I. As
the third largest European power by area, the Empire was a powerful presence leading up to World
War I, with a population of over fifty million people and an army of 400,000 soldiers. The conflicts
among European powers and the disorder in the Balkans in the 19th and 20th centuries led to a
situation in which Franz Ferdinand s assassination proved to be the tipping point in the fragile
relationship between Austria Hungary and the South Slav nationalities that threatened the Empire both
internally and externally. His death caused a costly war in terms of both lives and the economy in the
South Slav region and further undermined the stability of Serbia. Princip assassinated the heir to the
throne in an attempt to spark a revolution that would result in Slavic independence from Austria
Hungary. However, before his death, Franz Ferdinand supported economic development for Slavs
within the Austro Hungarian Empire and favored more equal measures toward the South Slav
nationalities. Thus, Franz Ferdinand had served as a roadblock to the extreme militant wing within
Austria Hungary. With the assassination of Franz Ferdinand, Serbian extremists damaged the
opportunity for more moderate Slavic peoples within Austria Hungary to achieve greater autonomy

The Black Lives Matter Movement continues to be defined as a divisive movement in the U.S due to
the aggressive tactics done by BLM supporters. In addition, the BLM movement continues to remain

the facility as well as the financial effects on the organization. Furthermore, in order to determine a
solution, the nurse s work environment should be assessed (Nedd, 2006) and measured using the 26
item Brisbane Practice Environment Measure (B PEM) (Flint, Farrugia, Courtney, Webster, 2010).
The B PEM instrument was developed to measure nursing satisfaction within the work environment
and the perceived facilities inadequacies (Flint et al. 2010; Hayes et al., 2014; Nedd, 2006). Next, the
Conditions of Work Effectiveness Questionnaire II (CWEQ II) will also be utilized to measure the
nurses perceived access to the four job related empowerment structures: opportunity, information,
support, and resources will be administered (Laschinger et al., 2003). Then nursing burnout will be
assessed and analyzed by using the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) which is a widely used
instrument to assess burnout and is considered the gold standard due to its established

Examples Of The Mistakes Of Entrepreneurs
Three Big Scaling Mistakes that Entrepreneurs Make
Every entrepreneur starts their business with a dream. Usually, that dream involves getting bigger,
better, and making more money. It s a good dream.
The problem is that growing your business can be tricky. If you don t do it properly, you can hurt, or
even destroy, your business. All too often beginning entrepreneurs scale prematurely, hire the wrong
people, and don t create the right systems and processes. You want to grow your business to match
your dream, but if you make these three mistakes (or any one of them) you may see your dream vanish
before your eyes.
Killer Mistake #1 Scaling Too Quickly
In 2012 a small tech company named XciteLogic was taking the business world by storm. ... Show

Hire thoughtfully and train thoroughly. Then, and this is the hard part, you need to step back and let
them do it. Micromanaging your employees is counterproductive and a waste of your time and
resources. It also leads to unhappy employees and turnover.
Marketing Just because you understand your business better than anyone doesn t mean that you know
how to market it properly. All too often entrepreneurs try to do too much themselves. Marketing
specialists understand your local market, your competition, and if they re any good, they ll get to
know your business almost as well as you know it yourself. Rather than wasting money trying to do it
yourself, invest in a pro and watch your business grow.
Accounting and Taxes Just like marketing, many entrepreneurs think they have the smarts to handle
their own accounting and taxes. Even if you have a great mind for numbers, as a business owner, you
don t have the time to research all the applicable tax laws that can affect your business. Hire a CPA
and develop a tax strategy from the beginning to help maximize your profits and avoid any IRS

Markdowns Markdown Areas
A:
 We could tell just by looking at the items why they were marked down they were all summer styles,
out of season lighter denim washes, and tops are sleeveless tanks in a bright range of colors.
B:
 The prices in the denim range from $79.97 to $119.97 the tops range from $17.97 to $34.97. The
items seem to be properly priced however now that the temperature seems to be dropping, I would
expect the prices on the tops especially be slashed again. Even though the denim on sale consists of
mostly lighter colors, they can still be worn year round so they most likely will not see too many huge
markdowns for the change of weather.
C:
The Buckle location that we visited has a huge Forever 21 store to compete with about three stores
down. Buckle carries a range of premium

Health Plan Recap My health plan was constructed while keeping my own specific health profile in
mind. As a mother of six, and one who developed on autoimmune disease, Dermatomyositis, seven
years ago, I confront problems which others developing their own plans may not. The disease, which
was successfully treated, nonetheless left a residue of chronic pain and fatigue, as well as depression,
symptoms which were partnered with Primary Biliary Cholangitis, another autoimmune disease I was
diagnosed with in 2015. This disease has resulted in additional pain. During the last few years of
struggling with these illnesses, I have added some extra weight. Despite the above difficulties, I plan
to exercise, eat better and reduce both my weight and my Body Mass Index. Not taking action is not
an option, as a Life Check Assessment test I took scored me at just 5.7 out of 10, and described my
health as one that was as at risk for diabetes and other problems. All research indicates that a clean,
healthy, low sodium diet, and regular exercise, would be a major boost to my health, and might even
help in the battle against the autoimmune issues I am currently engaged with. Research

Marxist View On The Importance Of Being Ernest
Viewing the play of The Importance of Being Earnest from a feminist perspective portrays the men in
the Victorian Era to be misogynistic. A perpetuated stereotype in this play is that women should be
protected from the truth. Jack:[In a very patronizing manner] My dear fellow, the truth isn t quite the
sort of thing one tells to a nice, sweet, refined girl. What extraordinary ideas you have about the way
to behave to a woman (29)! The belief that women are fragile and unable to handle anything serious is
present. Furthermore, when Algernon discovers that Cecily is convinced that they had met before and
had had many romantic encounters, she is presented as mentally insane. This perpetuates the belief
that women depend on men and could not be satisfied without one in their life. In addition to this,
Gwendolen and Cecily are the ones being deceived by Jack and Algernon. This shows that women are
stereotypically submissive to men and can be taken advantage of. Through evaluating The Importance

While those of the Victorian upper class were usually the most refined and intelligent, Wilde portrays
them as ignorant and dense. One of the most well described ladies, Miss Prism, is shown to be the
least aware. The most cultivated of ladies, and the very picture of respectability (63). She is ultimately
the most absent minded and leaves baby Jack in a handbag in a cloak room of a major railway station.
Through Miss Prism, Wilde is able to propagandize the intelligence the aristocrats usually embody. In
addition to this, Wilde refutes the morality of the Victorian elite. The main two characters, Jack and
Algernon, are deceptive and are rarely seen to have any morals. Reviewing this play with a
sociological/Marxist perspective provides insight on how Wilde wants others to perceive the elite of

Post-Civil War America and Policies
After the Civil War, which culminated in 1865, the government of United States needed to reunify
southern and northern states back together, and the only solution for that were reforms in South. The
new political developments began In 1863 when president Abraham Lincoln suggested Ten Percent
Plan which indicated that a southern state could be readmitted to the Union as soon as ten percent of
its voters asseverated the oath of allegiance to the Union. Lincoln ensured southerners that
government will protect their private property, but not their slaves. After Lincoln was assassinated on
April 14, 1865, the new President of United States continued following his Ten Percent Plan.
Also Lincoln proposed the Emancipation Proclamation in 1863, promulgated that all persons held as
slaves within any State, or designated part of a State, the people whereof shall then be in rebellion
against United States, shall be then, thenceforward and forever free. Nevertheless, Emancipation
Proclamation did not end slavery in the states. Lincoln hoped to inspire all the slaves in the
Confederacy with the Proclamation. Especially to support the Union Cause and keep European
countries, in particular England and France, from politically giving the confession and military aid to
Confederacy.
Out of all the Era s in the in United States, Reconstruction was the one which consisted of many
values, leaders, and objectives. In 1864, two Radical Republicans, Senator of Ohio Benjamin Wade

However in the eating disorder world she is best known for her words Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels. That comment was made back in 2009 at the age of 35 (Selby, 2014). Those words had made an impact in the lives of so many teens since then. As a media icon, starring in over 300 magazines covers over her 25 year career, so many young teens looked up to her (Selby, 2014). • 4. The Subculture Of Craft Beer 1. What is the subculture s core purpose? What motivates, unifies and drives the members? It s Friday night in the cosmopolitan city of Cape Town and all the cool, hip young professionals are out to celebrate the start of the weekend. After doing a tour of the most popular and crowded bars, I found that all of these partygoers are drinking the same drink: Craft Beer. As a student of ethnography I was interested in this social phenomenon of craft beer in Cape Town, and even more so about this subculture of drinkers that would pay more for a craft beer, then a standard, regular, cheaper beer. Craft beer in this context refers to beer that has been brewed locally and has not been distributed by the mass market, for example SAB. After doing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In America , Lowes Foods, a locally bent grocery store chain based in Winston Salem, North Carolina started selling Craft beer. They installed a Beer Den, where customers can sample beer and then buy a pint to drink while they shop. This was such a success that they implemented the same strategy in Whole Foods. The in store taps enable customers to taste different beers and provide opportunities for customers to meet the brewer; a strategy I believe will work well in South Africa. Adventure stores such as Cape Union Mart, Outdoor Warehouse and Due South could also partner with Craft Beer, buy selling it at their stores. • 5. Copyright Law Should Encourage Creativity And Innovation... Introduction Longer copyright terms can prove beneficial for large mass media companies as evidenced by The Walt Disney Company s lobbying for the Copyright Term Extension Act. This act, often dubbed the Mickey Mouse Protection Act, extended copyright protection for an additional twenty years in 1998. Consequently, Mickey Mouse is now set to enter the public domain on January 1, 2024. Disney will once again have the opportunity to lobby for extension and evade Mickey s copyright expiration, thus preventing its most iconic character from entering the public domain. This holds pressing significance because lobbying for further extension legislation would likely occur within the next few years. The duration of copyright determines the length of protection. Limitations on this length exist to ensure works enter the public domain. Therefore, the length of protection is one of the most relevant and debated issues regarding copyright law. The proponents and opponents of copyright term extension make compelling arguments, but both sides agree that copyright law should encourage creativity and innovation. If Disney is successful in once again lobbying for an extension of duration, a substantial number of works will fail to enter the public domain in a timely manner. This will, consequently, lead to a stifling of creativity and a suppression of innovation that could be detrimental to progress in the realms of science and the useful arts. Argument As stated, the proponents and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The winter Olympics are considerably smaller than the summer Olympics as there are less options for winter sports played as during the summer ones. There are also fewer countries and athletes competing as some countries don t have these sports or the winter climate or terrain to sustain a winter sport. This does not always prevent athletes from competing, however, as proven by the Jamaican bobsledding team years ago. They took strong runners and athletes from Jamaica and taught them the basics of the bobsled using a wooden sled on wheels. Their initial particpation into the Olympics was a big crowd pleaser. • 7. Why Are The Articles Of Confederation Ineffective Shortly after America gained independence from England, Americans were faced with the trouble of setting up a strong central government. Several delegates representing their respective states were called to the Continental Congress, where they decided to put together a constitution for the new nation. Delegates agreed that the powers of the government must be limited, so that they wouldn t resemble the British government. The constitution created by the Congress became known as the Articles of Confederation (1777). Although the government under the Articles of Confederation proved to be useful in establishing western lands, they provided an ineffective form of government due to the economic failures that plagued America. States placed high tariffs on goods coming from other states and low tariffs for foreign goods in an attempt to attract foreign goods to their state. Additionally, under the Articles of Confederation, Congress was limited from demanding taxation from the states. Due to this, Congress was not able to generate enough money to operate despite the land ordinances they created. This eventually led to a revolt, which came to be known as Shay s Rebellion (1786). This was a revolt against the government for failing to issue paper money, ease taxes, and prevent property foreclosures. Members of Shay s Rebellion demanded money as compensation and began conducting acts of violence. Authorities responded by raising a small army to put down the revolt. The government was not able to provide hard cash to citizens, due to the fact that the government wasn t able to generate enough money for itself. Under the Articles, Congress could not enforce its tax collection program. It was limited to establishing a tax quota for each of the states and then requesting them to contribute their share on a voluntary basis, however this quota was seldom satisfied by any state. We all have defining moments in our lives where we can look back and say, That moment changed my life. This is the story of the defining moment that changed the way I read and write, and I learned it from a whale! It was the beginning of my seventh grade year. I was about twelve years old and, I guess you could say a nerd. I did well in school so I was placed in the Gifted and Talented program with other nerds in my class. • 15. Summary Of The Guardian The Guardian For as long as time itself, humans have been weak and fragile, in need of Guardians to watch over them. At birth, a child is given a Guardian, and for the remainder of their short life, that human is protected and guided by an unseen force. These chosen few were fated to watch life pass on without truly experiencing it. They are the lonely sentinels in an everlasting night, watching over a person s dreams for seventy years before watching over another for seventy more, and on and on and on through eternity. Life offers infinite happiness, and thus, those who d hunt for this feeling of pure joy pay with misery Fate collecting the debt and sentencing debtors to death. Every mortal has chosen to trade their bodies on earth simply for the short, sweet taste of life. When that probationary period called mortal life concludes, it is the Guardian that leads the soul out of the confines of the body and to that Afterlife we speculate so much about. In regards to this Afterlife, there is not much that can be said. Not for fear of instigating a war of religions, but more because it is unknown. The Guardians, because of their immortality, are forbidden to enter that place. To understand something is to have power over it, and the Guardians simply cannot comprehend the Afterlife; thus they are like children fearing the dark because they cannot see what lurks within. No one to enter the Afterlife can return to share its secrets with the world. Thus, the only information we ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The topic/statement that I will be discussing is: Perhaps the films greatest treasure is its cast of minor and other characters, each of whom is a gem of observation and performance. With their plastic faces and hired hair and their deluding sense of self importance, they convey an almost pathetic conviction that all their actions are for the greater good. Of the minor characters to choose from I have selected Barry Fife, Liz Holt and Shirley Hastings. The first character we will be analysing is Barry Fife. This character is a very superficial, self absorbed as well as overly obsessed with his appearance. During the course of strictly Ballroom we notice that Barry wears a lot of blue which helps portray his cold, uninvolved emotional state. He firmly believes that his way is the right way and shows us this by the video he makes which is aptly titled only way to dance . His arrogance is revealed when he makes a statement saying, Dance any steps you want, but you won t win. High School Dropout Rates The APA is the leading scientific and professional organization representing psychology in the United States, with a mission to advance the creation, communication, and application of psychological knowledge to benefit society and improve people s lives. For these reasons, it is not surprising that the American Psychological Association published an article in May of 2013, bringing to light the impact of family and community poverty on high school dropouts (Rumberger, 2013). According to the APA, an estimated 1.1 million individuals did not earn a high school diploma in 2012, and unfortunately the drop out and the drop out s family are not the only ones affected, but the decision to drop out can also affect all of society as well. With lasting consequences, even after earning a GED, it is safe to say that something must be done to reduce the current dropout rate of approximately 7,000 people per day. Mast cells are found predominantly in your surface tissues (tissues close to the external environment) such as in your skin and in the mucous membranes of your nose. Once the IgE has attached itself to an allergen, it sets off a series of events within the cells that lead to degranulation, which is the process that releases molecules from vesicles that regulate immune responses. Amongst these molecules is histamine. According to Nordqvist (2015), histamine causes effects on the body by binding to histamine receptors. Another symptom caused by histamines, shortness of breath and asthmatic like wheezing, when smooth muscles contract in the airways. Antihistamines alleviate the effects of histamine on the body, hence their name antihistamine. Taking an antihistamine drug such as Claritin, Allegra, or Zyrtec prevents these effects. The drug races to the H1 receptor and competes with the histamine. The histamine cannot bind wherever the drug binds, therefore the histamine can t cause any irritating effects. It s always better to take an antihistamine drug before you come into contact with an allergen. That way the antihistamine will have a higher chance of binding to to the receptor than the histamine does. Antihistamines usually don t have side effects but drowsiness is one side effect that is hard to avoid. When an antihistamine crosses the BBB, or blood brain barrier, that exists between the circulatory system and the nervous system to stop random molecules from getting into the brain and causing untold havoc (U.S. National Library of Medicine, 2002) drowsiness occurs. The first generation of antihistamine drugs, such as diphenhydramine, crossed the BBB almost effortlessly and once they had crossed it sedation would set it. Ten days after the start of the crisis, President Carter froze about $8 billion of Iranian assets. However, this did not rattle Khomeini, it empowered him. It was at this point that it was realized that a solution to this crisis would be harder than anticipated. Ayatollah Khomeini issued a set of demands in exchange for the hostages. First, the Shah must be returned to Iran to be put on trial. Second, the U.S. needed to issue an apology for previous American actions, and third the U.S. had to promise not to interfere in Iranian politics in the future. As expected, Carter did not comply with these demands. He tried to work out diplomatic negotiations with Iran using a third party, but those negotiations fell through (The Associated Press). President Carter was criticized heavily for not doing more to resolve the Hostage Crisis. Since Carter saw that a diplomatic solution was not going to come soon, he decided that the only way to solve the situation was by force. He employed a secret operation known as Operation Eagle Claw. The plan was to land helicopters and planes outside of Tehran, and then they would make their way to the embassy to rescue the hostages. It is much related to desire and ambition and they all work in tandem (Sasson, 2001). Motivation is influenced or caused by factors known as motivators. According to Sigmund Freud, we are compelled to act by unconscious forces within us, which he called our id (Hofstede, 1980). Motivators are either intrinsic (from within) or extrinsic (from without). Intrinsic motivational factors refer to motivators that come from within an individual. Maslow s work has been markedly criticised for its failure to take into account individual differences and cultures. Wahba and Bridgewell (1976) find very little evidence of the ranking of human needs as described by Maslow or even the existence of a definite hierarchy of needs at all. On another front, Hofstede (1984) criticises Maslow s work for being ethnocentric as it is based on an experiment on a limited sample population in the U.S.A and cannot be extrapolated to describe a universal situation. Alderfer s Existence, Relatedness and Growth Theory: Alderfer (1969) distinguishes three categories of human needs that influence individual behaviours, which are Existence needs, Relatedness needs and Growth needs. His work can be seen as a more compact form of Maslow s Hierarchy of needs. • 27. Persuasive Essay On Online Bullying In today s progressive world, I believe it is better to consider online bullying in an immersed online ethnographic research method, in order to fully understand how bullying is enacted in an online world. It s also important to take this approach in order to understand what s misunderstood about online bullying as a whole. Boyd (2010) states that if we are to know if online platforms act as a tool for teenagers to perpetuate violence in the real world , we must look at what they are doing online. Boyd finds that bullying does not dramatically go up or down when social media is introduced (Boyd 2015, 152). Digital spaces that are important in the lives of youth need to be understand both locally, and in global contexts. Mallan, Ashford and Singh s (2010) article discusses iscapes as a way for todays youth to hang out or communicate. The authors seek to answer the question, how do interactions across iscapes affect the identity work carried out by today s youth. ( Mallan et al. 2010, 265). Decheneaut et al. (2010) looks at an immersive ethnography in several online digital worlds. Bonilla and Rosa state boldly that by using social media as their platform, subscribers can demand public attention, and garner the attention from anthropologists by using hashtags (Bonilla et al. 2015, 5). Technology changes how bullying is acted out, furthermore we consider online ethnographic fieldwork in relationship to bullying as a real and viable part of anthropological studies. ... Additionally, this kind of ancestry based social class has always existed in the world but in most countries, first world countries, governments stopped this system and opened the path for each individual to grow. Moreover, regarding the effect of one s father social status, statistics show that the father s economic status in the U.S. affects the child s social status more compared to Canada. All in all, The U.S. has less economic mobility than Canada (Corak 2009). As in illustration, if a family lives in the lower class it is more likely for their children to be also part of the lower class. In my opinion, it is inevitable to stop this trend, due to the fact the opportunities that one faces in life is strictly determined by what his/her family can provide. Regarding incomes, the upper class has far more income than others. However, those are only the minority of the world s population and they are usually wealthy because of their ancestors. Meno jumped at the opportunity to define virtue to Socrates but each definition is refuted. Meno and Socrates failed to reach an agreement on a definition. As a mother of six, and one who developed on autoimmune disease, Dermatomyositis, seven years ago, I confront problems which others developing their own plans may not. The disease, which was successfully treated, nonetheless left a residue of chronic pain and fatigue, as well as depression, symptoms which were partnered with Primary Biliary Cholangitis, another autoimmune disease I was diagnosed with in 2015. This disease has resulted in additional pain. During the last few years of struggling with these illnesses, I have added some extra weight. Despite the above difficulties, I plan to exercise, eat better and reduce both my weight and my Body Mass Index. • 45. Marxist View On The Importance Of Being Ernest Viewing the play of The Importance of Being Earnest from a feminist perspective portrays the men in the Victorian Era to be misogynistic. A perpetuated stereotype in this play is that women should be protected from the truth. Jack:[In a very patronizing manner] My dear fellow, the truth isn t quite the sort of thing one tells to a nice, sweet, refined girl. What extraordinary ideas you have about the way to behave to a woman (29)! The belief that women are fragile and unable to handle anything serious is present. Furthermore, when Algernon discovers that Cecily is convinced that they had met before and had had many romantic encounters, she is presented as mentally insane. This perpetuates the belief that women depend on men and could not be satisfied without one in their life. In addition to this, Gwendolen and Cecily are the ones being deceived by Jack and Algernon. This shows that women are stereotypically submissive to men and can be taken advantage of. Through evaluating The Importance ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 46. Post-Civil War America and Policies After the Civil War, which culminated in 1865, the government of United States needed to reunify southern and northern states back together, and the only solution for that were reforms in South. The new political developments began In 1863 when president Abraham Lincoln suggested Ten Percent Plan which indicated that a southern state could be readmitted to the Union as soon as ten percent of its voters asseverated the oath of allegiance to the Union. Lincoln ensured southerners that government will protect their private property, but not their slaves. After Lincoln was assassinated on April 14, 1865, the new President of United States continued following his Ten Percent Plan. Also Lincoln proposed the Emancipation Proclamation in 1863, promulgated that all persons held as slaves within any State, or designated part of a State, the people whereof shall then be in rebellion against United States, shall be then, thenceforward and forever free. Nevertheless, Emancipation Proclamation did not end slavery in the states. Lincoln hoped to inspire all the slaves in the Confederacy with the Proclamation. Especially to support the Union Cause and keep European countries, in particular England and France, from politically giving the confession and military aid to Confederacy. Out of all the Era s in the in United States, Reconstruction was the one which consisted of many values, leaders, and objectives.
