1) Search is used pervasively throughout the SharePoint 2013 platform in features like the Content By Search web part, My Tasks, My Site View, and more. 2) SharePoint 2013 search uses a new search core that is a combination of FAST and SharePoint search technologies, providing high scalability. 3) Administration of search is more delegated in SharePoint 2013, allowing tasks like query rules and result sources to be managed at different levels like the site collection.
